Queer Cross Stitch *DO NOT REPOST*

I got a lost of messages from my book account asking me what pattern I used for my Queer cross stitch. I made it myself and I didn’t have a copy that I could share, but I recently found my file again.

The hoop I used is roughly 18.5cm. The pattern cuts off at the edges, but I used two rows of colour around the letters, I didn’t fill the letters in black and left them blank on my actual embroidery, but feel free to adjust however you want. I just ask that you don’t repost

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is a wonderful musical that still makes me cry every time I listen to the soundtrack. It’s about a 16 year old gay boy who wants to go to prom in a dress. He starts doing drag and puts on his first drag show in a club. It’s based off of a real person and real events, there’s a documentary you can probably find online.

I’ve watched the recording of a live show in the Westend that they showed live in cinema (they keep trying to delete it from YouTube but every few months someone puts it up again) but I’ve never seen it live and it’s number 1 on my lists of musicals I wanna see live.

As a queer guy who has come out as trans and gay, this musical really hits me. Especially ‘Ugly in this Ugly world’. It’s my go to belting song when I’m home alone and feel like shit. Even years after coming out and starting transitioning, I still struggle with the trans part of my identity and wishing I was normal and feeling like I don’t belong anywhere. To have a song that perfectly sums up everything really hits me.

The film is coming out in Feb 2021 and I am so excited.

So here’s to this musical, thank you for giving me a place where I feel I belong.
