"Harry’s life is a whirlwind. He’s just gotten back from a summer abroad in Istanbul, working as a diplomat to wizarding Turkey. He broke up with his long-time fiancée just before that, and now he’s ready to settle back into a life he had been running away from. But there’s one thing that can’t seem to let him. Something in that house is holding him back, and it won’t let him move out (and move on) until it’s dealt with. Enter: Draco Malfoy, world renowned wardsmaster, cursebreaker, and scholar. His life is the opposite, worse than being at a standstill. Hell, now it feels like things are moving backwards— so far back that he’s getting owls at his windowsill from none other than his former Hogwarts rival, whom he can’t seem to escape (no matter how hard he tries)."

I am in the process of rewriting an abandoned WIP I started in 2020 and have been thinking about ever since! Originally called, Nights Spent with a Somniphobe, the new fic will be the same concept set with our cast of characters a bit older, (un)wiser, and so dreadfully oblivious. ;)

The first chapter will be out in approximately 1-1.5 weeks.

unless they specifically asked, you don’t get to tell a fanfic writer you think they mischaracterized the character by the way. because the second someone writes a fanfic about a character, that character becomes the writer’s own version of the character. canon is only a suggestion, but whether or not an author will follow it / how much of canon an author will take is entirely up to them. you don’t get to stick your nose in their world and tell them “hey this is not to my liking therefore I think you’re doing it wrong” when you can simply leave quietly and move on to something else you may enjoy

fanfic writers are so fucking awesome man. they write novel length fics that are sometimes even better than some published bestselling books written by professional writers. like fanfic writers are professional writers to me and they gift us their masterpieces for free. they give us something we can look forward to after a long day. something from which we can seek comfort when life is hard. something that can be our own little getaway. in a world of capitalism, despite everything, they give us all of these for free. like holy fuck. shout out to every fanfic writer. I wish all fanfic writers a very ‘I love you with all my heart and soul. I thank you from the bottom of my heart’
