Movies to Inspire Writing.

I really fell in love with the detailed aesthetics. The production really paid attention to details from the era they were representing. The film’s visual shows opulence, the lavish settings of the luxurious club, the traditional costumes, the set designs with traditional Thai elements. One is blown away by the gold, precious stones. It feels like an immersive experience.

I enjoyed, the cultural and historical backdrop of 19th-century Thailand. I wished they had shown more of the outside world, Siam’s landscape. I presume it would have required more budget. The movie almost felt like a play because the essential happened at the same place.

Which such aesthetics, I believe sky was the limit, they could have gone, for magic for instance. I can imagine telling a Thai legend with those aesthetics, it would be glorious.

Among the actors, Apo Nattawin was simply astounding, he played the good-hearted, hurt by life dancer so well. He balanced the right amount of pain and innocence so well. The only weak point is the scenario, which seemed weak and confusing sometimes.  

I can’t wait to see the series from Mansuang called Shine, which will be out soon, I hope.
