inside the fern room in the conservatory -- you’ll recall we went in because it was free, and because the weather was seriously getting us down. this was a lively scene to be found hidden away in this arm of the exhibit.

we rolled into philly to play a show, and we crashed on the couch of some art kids’ house show house. the inside and the outside were basically trashed, with beer cans on the floor, scraps of food on the tables and in the sinks, and musical equipment strewn about the living room, and all the habitable space. this is the view standing at the performance space end of the basement looking into the rest of it. i almost moved in here. once upon a lifetime, maybe i did.

i bought a cheap set of oil pastels the other day, and i want to play with them more - i love how vivid the color is, and how well they play together. i don’t know shit about pastels, or paint or anything like that, so this will be a fun experiment.

took this photo from the passenger seat of my roommate’s car as we entered Illinois and Chicago for the first time. it smelled like burning rubber, because a semi truck had blown a tire a few dozen miles ago, and the wind was picking up.
