hey jsyk while hellofresh is dummy expensive and i wouldn’t reccomend it if you already know how to cook (if you’re a beginner like i was when i had it for 3 months, then it’s worth it), you should know that ALL OF THEIR RECIPES are free on their website and they all fuck hard

i will say that all the cooking instructions for veggies are pretty much the same (season with salt + pepper and roast on the top oven rack at 425F), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

that being said, it also introduced me to methods i wasn’t at all expecting. i would have never thought to use cream cheese in my meat sauce, and now all my friends are constantly asking me to make my special rigatoni.

it really is deeply evil how tech companies are blatantly using their influence to manipulate politics for their own gain. eg the tiktok ban message referencing trump of course. the bc government here in canada passed a law forcing apps like doordash ubereats etc to pay their workers more and they retaliated by adding a “bc government regulatory response fee” to orders just before a tightly contested provincial election. so these american companies trying to directly sway electoral politics in another country. it’s actually very crazy

On this year women's day, all we could think about are Palestinian women in Gaza.

Nearly 9,000 women have been killed in Israeli attacks in five months. Another 2,100 are missing and presumed dead, while 23,000 have been wounded and over half a million are displaced.

“Palestinian women, especially in the Gaza Strip, are exposed to the worst humanitarian catastrophe,” Ashraf al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesperson, said on Thursday.

Dozens of women and girls have also been detained and face harsh conditions in Israeli custody, including sexual abuse.

Women in Gaza also struggle to find menstruation products and access the necessary pregnancy and post-natal care. The consequences on reproductive health, including a rise in stress-induced miscarriages, stillbirths and premature births, have increased significantly.

Women in labour are undergoing caesarean procedures without anaesthetics, and a shortage of post-operative care such as medication, antibiotics and pain relief further exacerbates the situation.

According to the health ministry, 5,000 women give birth monthly in Gaza under “harsh, unsafe and unhealthy” conditions caused by Israeli bombing and displacement.

There are 60,000 pregnant women in Gaza suffering from “malnutrition, dehydration and lack of medical care.

There have also been repeated cases of Israeli soldiers mocking Palestinian women by posting videos and pictures of themselves rummaging through personal belongings in Gaza homes, making derogatory comments and posing with women’s underwear.

btw i am in complete agreement w this essay by mohamed al-kurd Jewish settlers stole my house. It’s not my fault they’re Jewish specifically when he talks about how anti-semitism is weaponized against palestinians and the minefield trap of navigating language around israel. but for allies, and particularly for allies in the west, you can and should use discretion to differentiate between "zionist claims of anti-semitism" and genuine antisemitism in your ranks. it's growing more and more difficult when institutions and governments are claiming "from the river to the sea" is an anti-semitic chant. its an agony to navigate when BDS is called "supporting terrorism." all of that is purely bullshit.

but it is doubly incumbent when there are white supremacists, assadists, and various other idiots infiltrating. it is patently obvious that evangelical christian extremists, the european and american far-right, the elon musks and the likes are antisemitic and pro-israel.

this is not the responsibility of palestinians and the palestinian cause. this does not and cannot affect the basic reality of settler colonialism and should be held very, very suspect if it is used to distract, downplay and excuse palestinian suffering and the ongoing genocide in gaza. i also do not entertain the notion that arabs, muslims or pro-palestinian activists are inherently more anti-semitic than any other demographic because this is also an explicitly political claim. but that is all one thing and inter-personal communication is another. there are many many jewish ppl marching in pro-palestine rallies worldwide and it is just basic courtesy to make sure they do not feel alienated by you, personally.
