the song “False Confidence” by Noah Kahan makes me think of Shawn Spencer pre-canon when he’s in his i-heart-Abigail phase. He’s preparing with mixed emotions - part elation, part dread/anxiety - and then he’s at the meeting spot, he sees her, the anxiety takes over, and he pulls back before she sees him.

Writing is so fucking stupid. I had a scene pop into my head and now I’ve spent the last year and 100k words creating the necessary contextual plot/character depth to earn the emotion in that scene. Ridiculous. Absurd. Why.

you know, the whole “you have to think about [it]” kinda makes me realise that people have always been people. Some are going to think thoroughly through all the steps, and some will take the route with ‘step 1’ and that’s that. It’s kinda comforting. Technology may advance, but people are always just people.
