I hate when arcane fans get upset that singed got a happy ending but he didn’t. Yes he got his daughter back but they are both now just a shell of themselves.
We see at the end Orianna has no emotion; the exception is the tear in her eye but even that is just a scar of her past self. She is a shell of herself, just a doll now. Her looking at the ballerina at the end is almost like her looking at herself, what she could have been, what she wanted to be if she didn’t get sick.
Singed isn’t any better, he put himself through all that to get his daughter back but she isn’t even his daughter anymore. He has a doll that just mildly resembles her that shouldn’t have even been made. In official art we see that Orianna was basically decaying and he fixed that with robotic limbs. I feel like when Orianna died, Singed died with her; he was fixing himself with robotic parts (metaphorically), like how he was fixing Orianna with them.
I don’t think either of them are happy in this scenario. They are both what they used to be but worse; like when you sloppily glue together a plate that has already shattered into pieces. They are bits and pieces of what could remain from the past, but not enough could remain for them to be whole.

Amber in invincible is so over hated and it is genuinely insane. One of the biggest things I hear about her hate is “she knew mark was a superhero and was still mad at him!!” But yall always ignore it was because mark was being a shitty boyfriend and was basically just leading her on. Yes he got a little better but that doesn’t change that she was asking for him to do things and setting boundaries and he just kept ignoring them.
I believe the issue isn’t that she was a bad girlfriend but more so that he couldn’t handle having a girlfriend but liked having one. He consistently missed dates and important moments for his job, and while it is explainable and makes sense that doesn’t make her feelings about being ignored in a relationship any less valid and important.
Idk how yall don’t realize it because there were multiple episodes basically spoon-feeding yall the answers. She wasn’t mad or upset he is a superhero she was upset because he couldn’t find enough time for her and that is valid. Their breakup was also mutual, she didn’t flip out on him or anything (honestly she should have, he was a partner, which was stated in the show), they mutually separated because they realized it wasn’t gonna work.
By how the fandom treated her I expected some horrible person but she is chill. The only criticism I have for her is that she fits into the disposable black girlfriend stereotype but most people in the fandom who hate her don’t care about that. They usually just hate her because of misogyny and racism.

“You didn’t love her the way I did.” Is such a good line Katara said that the fandom just pushes under the rug as Katara being an asshole. The line has a level of truth to it even if it wasn’t said in the best moment. Katara grew up with their mom being her mentor and who she was supposed to be growing up. As soon as her mom died she took over all the roles her mom had.
Yes Sokka loved their mom and yes it wasn’t cool that Katara said that but the line still holds truth to it. Sokka’s mentor was his father and who he aspired to be like was his father. He loved his mother but he doesn’t understand what it is like to be a child and need to fill the shoes of an adult that did almost everything.
As much as people like to say that he had to fill his fathers shoes he really didn’t; I don’t remember when but in the show Katara told Sokka he was just playing war or something along that line and she isn’t wrong. She had to take care of everyone after their mother died and Sokka didn’t. This isn’t to say that Sokka wasn’t also hurt when their mother died but people always misconstrued that line and their childhood in general to make Katara out to be a shitty sister.
She took on the mom role so much as a child that Sokka said he saw her as a mother figure, if she was a bad sister he would not be saying that. I feel like people often times just make up excuses to hate Katara and that line is one of them when they are usually so wrong about what it actually means and the whole meaning of her character.

With the talk about shimmer in the arcane fandom I wanna put my take on it and my take on how arcane deals with drugs. Because in my opinion they deal with them well and in a way that isn’t seen in media often.
First off, I wanna talk about how Shimmer very clearly represents pharmaceutical drugs that are easily abused. This is shown with it being used to help both Vi and Jinx (and others) but also very clearly being used as a drug to control others. In my opinion, it is very similar to Fentanyl; they are both drugs that can be used for medical reasons but are very easy to abuse and in general became very bad very quickly. This is just what it seems like shimmer is supposed to represent, not on if it is ok or not.
With what shimmer is aside the rest of this will be about the social aspect of shimmer. Something we see with shimmer is that it is used by both rich and poor but the difference is how we see it. When it comes to the rich and/or just the people of piltover, it is put in almost an elegant way, it is shown to the viewer in a way that makes it look rich and not like a drug. While when it is shown in Zaun it is made to look gross and unhealthy.
I see a lot of people say that it is the arcane writers being bad at writing but I disagree, I feel like it is a taste of reality and shows a bit into the real world and how drugs are seen. In the real world drugs associated with wealth are seen as fun and elegant. For an example, think Lana Del Ray Coke necklace. Even if the intent wasn’t for people to actually do drugs it is still a product around drugs being seen as fancy and elegant just because it is from a rich person. With that same drug though we have seen that when it is put into a narratively about poor people it is seen as gross and whoever does that drug is seen as unhygienic. I feel like shimmer is an exact idea of this but in media.
I feel like shimmer is used to show the class difference between Piltover and Zaun and it is really interesting in my opinion. We don’t show tv shows criticize that part of rich people often and it was nice to see it spoken about in a show, even if it wasn’t a big point.
With this I would like to make it clear that I do not support drug usage in any way other than what is prescribed by a doctor. I just felt like this is an interesting topic to speak on

I have been working on a plot for a book know for a bit and I think it is interesting
Basically it’s a group of teens (idk if I wanna give them superpowers or not) who steam from the British museum and give the items from it back to the original owners (or just basically the country the item is from). I would want to use this book to explain history, culture, and colonization but in a way that young teens could understand.
I was thinking that to make this more interesting I could have them have to go through stuff like booby traps set by the British museum to get the items but that is more of just a funny idea that I might not do. I do want this to mostly focus on the history and culture of the objects and that might take away from that but who knows.
I hope yall like my idea a little bit! Idk if I will actually make it but I think I will at some point!

I truly believe Singed did care about a Viktor (or at least when Viktor was younger)
Talking about younger Viktor First he seems to be a Parallel to Orianna in a way. They seem to have been around the same age (seeing as it doesn’t look like Singed has been experimenting on his own for a while when he met Viktor) and they share a liking to engineering and Science. They both also have/had a bad sickness, Orianna’s killed her and Viktor’s seems to be able to kill him if it gets bad. I feel like Singed thought of Younger Viktor almost as Orianna in a way. They are both children who share similar likings to him, I believe it would make most sense with all of this info for Singed to have cared for younger Viktor at the time.
With older Viktor it is a bit more complicated in my opinion due to the character change they both had. Singed very clearly got a lot worse mentally throughout the years. Yes he was bad when Orianna died but I feel he got worse (mostly when he started working for Silco) and we see a very similar thing with Viktor as he got older. Talking season 1 Viktor he seems to mostly have the goal of ending his sickness, yes while he wants to help Jayce and figure out Hextech it all seems to be for the same Goal of fixing himself.
With both of these in mind I feel like how close their goals are brings them closer. While I do think Singed did use Viktor and Hextech to get to Orianna (as seen in season 2 but also hinted at when Singed asks about Hextech in season 1), I don’t think that is the full reason he gave Viktor the shimmer. I believe he wanted to help Viktor in a way due to his parallels with Orianna and the sickness. While he did see him as a tool to get to Orianna I dont think that’s all he saw him as and by that point I think he had a bit of belief in Viktor and that he can do something.
I feel like this can be shown in season 2 aswell, he praised Viktor for what he has done, even if he didn’t fully agree with the full memo. Viktor did what Singed has been trying to do for decades but on a way bigger scale and that is huge and we see that Singed basically relied on that to get Orianna back. Singed and Viktor are both extremely complex characters and I feel like Singed at the end of the day at least respects Viktor enough and when Viktor was younger even cared for him.
Another point I forgot to add on is that we do see that Singed has feelings and does have at least a little care for people when he tries to console Isha when they go to the prison. I feel like this just proves most people’s theories of him being a heartless jerk wrong and can be used as evidence as to how he could care for Viktor (at least when Viktor was a child). But this last point wasn’t really connected, I just find it interesting
I love them both so much and the mischaracterization they face by the fandom is so saddening
Also sorry if any of these seems confusing or not fully explained I did this very late at night!!

Hextech has a lot of similarities to the Industrial Revolution and I find it very interesting. Both were made to “better” society and ended up doing more harm than good and going down after a while.
Hex crystals are a lot like coal are both used to power things and kickstarted the revolutions they were both in. The Hexgates also seem very similar to the train systems made in the Industrial revolution.
I feel like it being the thing to be destroying Ekko’s tree also can play a part in this and be a good parallel to how the industrial revolution messed with the environment and the world in general.
One of the biggest things I noticed though is that both the Industrial Revolution and Hextech had a huge part to play in wars and both started wars. The Industrial Revolution had a huge part of WW1 due to the new weapons and technologies and Hextech had a big part of the war in arcane also due to its new weaponry and technology (as we saw Ambessa specifically came to Piltover with the intent of getting Hextech and using it for her military).
This is kinda all over the place for a rant I have just been thinking of it all week!

Dude I hate the whole trope of red hood/Jason going back to batman after learning how sad batman is without him
Like it makes no fucking sense for his character
I have the belief that Jason knew batman was hurt when he died and he knew batman cared for him but it is the fact that he doesn't care *enough*. He didn't care enough to stop the one person who killed Jason and really hurt so many of the other robins all because he didn't want the joker to "win" even though letting him live and antagonize the robins and affect your life forever is letting him win.
I understand his whole no killing rule but there is a point where he needs to break it or at least let someone else kill Joker. The joker has actually ruined almost every single one of the robins lives in one way or another.
Also back on the Jason would forgive batman thing, it makes even less sense because in most media Jason hates the fact that Jason made more robins after him. Almost every robin was seen as a replacement of him. Tim was basically a copy paste of Jason and in some comics that is why Batman liked him so much. With Steph she was basically a sit in to make Tim upset until she was no longer needed and basically fired for the smallest fucking reason. With Damian Batman just pisses me off entirely (this part is based off the comics and not the movie because the animated movies because those were just super stereotypical and most stuff from those have been retconned for what I know). Damian is seen as a younger version of batman, which makes sense, the kid is his son but holy fuck does batman annoy me in this. I know Damian being a robin was more of a dick's thing than batman's thing but batman is still his dad. Batman was more than capable of stopping him from being a robin and trying to get him actual help. Actually Batman was capable of doing that with all the robins.
I know the robins chose to be robins but he was more than capable of just saying no and getting them (AND HIMSELF) proper therapy. Using the excuse of "Oh batman is also neurodivergent and has a lot of issues!" is so fucking stupid. I get he has his issues but you would think he would learn from his mistakes and even possibly get therapy after the second robin. He even could have still had them do robin work and get better but he didn't. He used them as child soldiers then got rid of them when they were no longer needed.
All this being said, as much as I hate batman he is very well written (well has the potential to be) but I wish people stopped seeing him letting the robins fight as an act of good and acting like batman can't be blamed for what happened to the robins.
