I love it when people use "shrimp" to mean "beyond the human range". like "shrimp colors" but applied to other things. "shrimp emotions" "shrimp sounds" "shrimp morality", as if shrimp are living some kind of transcendent existence that humans can never comprehend

i resently started a job as a drafting engineer for a cabinet company which is something i've never thought i'd be doing.

my whole life i expected to be a painter and sculptor and work for myself and share my ideas. i got my art degree, covid happened and all the arts funding got pulled, i tried a bunch of different things like public art, digital illustration, pixel art, writing, maille weaving, laser cutting, metal work, printmaking, but none of it worked out.

spent the last two years doing production jobs to pay the bills but looking for something creative to do. unemployed for a few months realizing the midwest workforce doesnt need a degree in art. now i'm an associate engineer because i have CAD experience and the creativity just isnt there. i have to do this job to pay the bills.

idk i feel like i lost my soul a bit. i hardly draw or paint anymore, i feel like my writing is way worse, im not confident about running my ttrpg games, i keep dropping warhammer projects after a week. nothing feels fun or good or exciting and my brain is fried.

so now i sit at a desk and confirm measurements and process data and type numbers. its a living
