Honestly didn't expect this to get as much traction as it did! I knew it was an actual technique and hoped someone would find it helpful but this was a massively pleasant surprise!

Instead of writing a character outline for your story full of bulletpoints, what if you just flat out interviewed them?

I'd happily read five pages of my favorite authors sitting in a living room asking their characters about their feelings on Avocados for five minutes.

You think this is a joke but honestly you start down that road and suddenly you're talking about their feelings on equality and human rights and their thought process after the love of their life moved to Buttswan™, USA.

Or maybe that's just my undiagnosed ADD...

Currently working on two WIP's, one is a for fun wlw romance I'm posting on Wattpad. The other is a fantasy I've been stuck in world building hell for a decade on but recently started my first draft of!

I'm a lurker at heart but I'm very much looking forward to making more writer friends!

I wrote my first ever story on a secondhand typewriter my parents got me when I was 10. I was so proud of it but I cringe still when I remember how weird and bad it was.

The thing is, I still catch myself being embarrassed with stuff I wrote like, last week. The point I'm getting at is it's okay to look at your previous work and criticize it. That just shows you've grown and matured from the writer you were yesterday. Imposter syndrome is a bitch but damnit, I'M A BIGGER BITCH.

Know your worth today, first and foremost. Don't ever be ashamed of or toss your old work. Be proud of yourself because the day you become satisfied or content with your talent is the day it stunts

I say this as someone who lives on self depreciating humor and attends behavioral health appointments for chronic mental health conditions. Knowing full well I should listen to my own advice more often than I do.
