Pemberley. Your home away from home. The large country estate was gorgeous, surrounded by vivid green grass, and which sat across a crystal clear lake. You loved Pemberley not only for its beauty, but because the place had become your own haven of peace and solitude. It was where you could be yourself without worrying about being judged or ostracized.
Though, during the time, you always were forced to look so prim and proper, on days where you had no other responsibilities, you would sneak out to sit on the soft grass outside. That was the only time you really felt free.
As a child, you visited Pemberley more often than not. Your family were great friends with the Darcys and Bingleys, resulting in you spending a lot of time at the residence and within their presence. You had become close friends with Charles Bingley - his sister, Caroline, not so much - George Wickham, and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
During your later adolescent years, you had briefly traveled to the Longbourn estate, where you had grown close to Jane and Elizabeth Bennet, despite your parent's wishes. Your mother specifically didn't want you spending time with those in the Middle Class. That didn't stop you though.
Out of the three, Charles, Caroline, and Fitzwilliam, you spent most of your time with the latter. And eventually Georgiana Darcy in the later upcoming years. Ever since you were a young child, you would travel to Pemberley with your parents, occasionally playing with the young Darcy if you were both not in lessons with your shared tutor.
You never really understood why both you and Fitzwilliam were tutored together, you never voiced your questions out loud, in fear of being scolded. But, during your many years in the company of Fitzwilliam, the two of you became very close friends, which was only natural having grown up together.
As the years went on, your parents began forcing you to attend balls, and at the age of twenty-two, you began to realize that they were actively looking for a suitable husband for you. You had a distaste for the idea, but were forced to comply, knowing that they would not end the search, no matter how many times you had voiced your own wishes.
Thankfully, Charles, Caroline, and Fitzwilliam were usually always attended. And occasionally, you'd spend time with Jane and Lizzie when they attended the same events, but otherwise, you would stand on the sidelines with Fitzwilliam as everyone else danced.
Your personality, though more reserved, wasn’t lacking. You had a great sense of humor, a sharp intellect, and an excellent memory. You enjoyed reading books and watching plays and operas; at a time wishing you could play a part in either one. You were kind, and generous to a fault; which, when you were younger, had gotten you into some trouble at times. You were very free-spirited, not afraid to speak your mind in certain situations; which your parents thought resulted in you spending too much time with Elizabeth Bennet.
Fitzwilliam, though holding many similar interests, his demeanor was seemingly unfriendly, aloof, and unapproachable. He kept to himself, rarely engaging in social activities and never participating in conversations unless spoken to first. And while he was a bit arrogant and proud, he was actually very caring and understanding towards the ones that he held in high esteem. He still remained distant from most people, preferring to watch them from afar with a critical, often anxious - though, he was rather good at hiding it, gaze.
You usually stood on the sidelines with Fitzwilliam at balls, only occasionally dancing with some random man your parents wanted you to dance with; in hopes some spark ignites. But, you disliked dancing, especially with strangers, and preferred to read books and relax in your room. Fitzwilliam, ever the gentleman, would start up some sort of conversation with you, albeit awkwardly. Though it happened rarely, it was always welcome; all the balls that you have ever been to have always been dreadful, but less so with Fitzwilliam there.
Balls had become associated with finding suitors and respectable husbands, rather than having fun and enjoying yourself, and you were beginning to resent that aspect of life. You knew that there was going to be a very low chance, or none at all, that you would be allowed to choose your own husband; or even have any say in the arrangement in the first place. If you did have a choice, you would choose Fitzwilliam. A few years prior, you noticed that you had developed feelings for him, feelings that were growing every single day.
You greatly admired Fitzwilliam, his intelligence, kindness, gentleness, handsomeness, and overall good nature. But you said nothing of it. You knew you had no choice in who you were going to marry - whether you liked it or not. So you kept your head down and tried not to think of it too much. Though, it was hard to not think about him, you spent a lot of time with the man after all. But, being a very respectable and composed young woman, you didn't show most of your emotions to others.
As an Upper Class woman, you were required to follow every rule laid out by your parents and society. You also had a duty to act demure in public, especially during formal events, and to appear to be a perfectly poised young lady. This was something that you hated, not being able to express yourself freely, or to be your true self. But, you were really good at it. Being taught to hold unwanted emotions at bay, which you had learned to hold certain romantic feelings for Fitzwilliam in a tightly controlled manner.
Sitting in one of the many sitting rooms in Pemberley, you quietly sipped your tea with Fitzwilliam and Caroline. It was silent, aside from the occasional clink of a tea cup being placed upon a small saucer, the sound of Fitzwilliam's quill upon the parchment, and the sound of you turning the pages of your book as you read. Whilst your mind was elsewhere, you hardly noticed Caroline as she read some letter about a scandal some banker was in before hearing your friends, Elizabeth Bennet's presence being announced.
"Miss Elizabeth Bennet."
Shutting your book, you let a small smile grace your features as Lizzie entered, her hair down and mud on her shoes. She gave a polite smile, looking around the room as Fitzwilliam stood and gave a curt bow of the head. Setting your book on the table before you, you walked over to the young woman, greeting her with a quick hug.
After a moment of silence, Caroline quietly gasped, "Good lord, Elizabeth. Did you walk here?”
"I did..." She answered as you both pulled away from the hug.
"Lizzie, it is so good to see you. Are you well? It has been ages since we last spoke." You asked, "I hope you won't become ill. It was rather chilly out this morning."
"I am well, thank you. And yourself?" She asked softly.
Clasping your hands together before you, you nodded, "I am doing marvelously, thank you. We will have to have tea together sometime soon, I miss our riveting conversations."
Lizzie's smile widened, "Of course." After another slightly awkward moment, she continued, "I'm so sorry, how's my sister?" She brought her eyes to Fitzwilliam and Caroline.
"She's upstairs." Fitzwilliam answered and Elizabeth nodded.
"Thank you." With one last look and smile towards you, she left the room with haste.
Letting out a small sigh, you walked back to the table, sitting back down in your seat and reopening your book. "My goodness, did you see her hem? Six inches deep in mud. She looked positively medieval." She mocked with amusement in her tone, and you rather hoped that she would finish speaking, but she wasn't done. Caroline then turned to you, and braced yourself for her words, "That was rather unlady-like, wasn't it?" She asked, as you flipped to the next page of your book.
"May I ask you to elaborate, Caroline?" You asked, barely giving the woman a glance as you continued reading. Ever since you were a young child, you and Caroline had never seen eye to eye. You weren't exactly fond of each other, and you didn't care to try getting along any better than you already did.
"Greeting her in such a manner." Caroline responded as she picked up a small finger sandwich.
You flipped to the next page, "Isn't it rather unlady-like to bring yourself into one's business, Caroline?" You asked, looking up to look at the women with a raised eyebrow. She only said nothing, letting out a small scoff as she looked away. "Oh, Caroline, dear... You have a little bit of something..." You began, lightly tapping the side of your mouth; even though she had nothing even blemishing her face.
Caroline quickly snatched a napkin from the table, dabbing the corner of her mouth. If she was embarrassed, she didn't show it, but you could tell by the way she fidgeted slightly in her seat that she was anything but pleased. Before going back to your book, you glanced over at Fitzwilliam, who had sat back down minutes ago, a very, very small smile on his face; his eyes held some amusement. Smiling lightly yourself, you went back to your book and tea.
~~~
It was a particular sunny day, birds singing in the trees, and clouds rolling through the sky. It was a beautiful afternoon, and you were enjoying it immensely. The weather was perfect for taking a stroll in the countryside, and if you were being honest, you loved being outdoors. The sun felt warm and inviting against your skin, the breeze gently blowing past you caused your dress to flutter a bit in the breeze. Carrying your book in your hand, you found a nice grassy spot to sit, not too far from Pemberley, but close enough to the lake that you felt at ease. You opened your book to where you had left off earlier and took a deep breath, trying to clear your mind of any unpleasant thoughts.
You did not know how much time had passed before you heard footsteps, but you didn't bother looking up. When the person then took a seat beside you on the grass, you moved your gaze away from your book, looking up. There sat Fitzwilliam, his expression unreadable. "How may I be of service, Fitzwilliam?" You asked, placing your bookmark between the pages of your novel, closing it gently and setting it in your lap.
"I had been looking for you," He began, staring straight ahead, "May I accompany you for a while?" He added, and you nodded.
"As you wish." You replied, "I'd love the company, Fitz." He didn't say anything else, just giving you a short nod, a barely visible smile before looking off at the lake.
You went back to your book, opening it once more to where you had left off, but you didn't feel like continuing. It seemed that he had something on his mind, and it seemed that he wasn't in the mood to talk about it. Perhaps it would do him good to get it off his chest. But you knew better in asking him to do such, though he was pretty open with you in general, Fitzwilliam was quite reserved when it came to matters of the heart; he'd hide things behind a façade of calm and composure when talking to those around him. So you didn't say anything, didn't push him, allowing Fitzwilliam to take his time.
After a couple of minutes, he finally spoke, "What is it that you are reading?" He asked, turning his gaze to the book in your hands.
Looking up, you meet his gaze, "It's called 'Emma.' It speaks of a young woman who thinks of herself as a matchmaker." You replied softly.
"Ah. I suppose I should not be surprised that your reading has led you to romantic literature." Fitzwilliam commented.
"Well, I wouldn't say that." You countered. "I simply find them fascinating, as they give me new perspectives." You explained, tilting your head to the side slightly, "Have you read this publication?" You asked, motioning towards the book in your lap.
"No, I have not. I believe Miss Caroline had mentioned it in passing once." He admitted, and you gave a small hum in response. "Though she was not seemingly fond of it."
You lightly scoffed, turning to stare at the lake before you, "I would suspect that she finds it distasteful." Another silence washed over the two of you, and you found yourself looking at Fitzwilliam. You could sense an uneasiness in his gaze, though there was something else there, as well. You wanted to ask what was bothering him, but you decided against it, knowing better than to pry into the affairs of another person. However, you were curious, and as you watched his eyes dart across the water, you knew you needed to speak. "Are you feeling alright, Fitz?" You questioned softly.
Fitzwilliam looked over at you, staring at you before speaking, "I apologize if you feel that I am acting peculiar..."
"Do not worry. You are not behaving strangely." You assured him, smiling slightly, "I am just worried that something might be on your mind."
Fitzwilliam pursed his lips briefly, his blue eyes locked with yours. The way you looked at him caused his stomach to flutter nervously, your overall presence made him nervous, and the overwhelming pounding of his heart was deafening. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy was completely and utterly hopelessly in love with you. How could he ever resist you? He wanted nothing more than to hold you in his arms, kiss you until the world disappeared, and tell you everything. But that would be highly inappropriate and perhaps even selfish, and he knew that. He had no right to ask such of you, and he knew that; he pushed those desires aside immediately and forced himself to think rationally.
"Would it be presumptuous of me to inquire as to if you are going to be attending the ball this fortnight?" He finally asked, his voice low, his eyes flickering over your features.
Your heart skipped a beat upon hearing the question, and you could not help but swallow dryly. "Yes, I will be attending. As you know, my parents wouldn't allow me to miss the event, even though I would much rather be reading in my room." You answered, trying to keep the trepidation out of your voice.
"I must agree with you. I would much rather be alone in my room as well." He replied quietly, lowering his gaze back to his own lap.
"Well," You sighed out, grabbing your book once more, "At least we will have each other's presence to distract us from the tedium of the events." You said in an attempt to lighten the air, but he only offered a small chuckle before he turned his gaze back to the lake.
Silence fell over the both of you again, with the soft sound of the wind rustling through the leaves and the birds flying overhead filling the space between the two of you. The atmosphere was peaceful, as it always was whenever you were together. For you, the silence was comforting, and Fitzwilliam enjoyed the silence as well. It was rare when the both of you had the chance to have a quiet moment together, so this was always a treat for you both.
~~~
Standing at the edge of the room, in your best dress from the newest season, you stood beside Fitzwilliam as the ball was in full swing. Your eyes surveyed the large room, glancing from the dancing couples, people chatting amongst their family, friends, etcetera, and finally, your parents. They stood, speaking with a man, whom you couldn't quite place his name on. From where you were, you could not understand fully what they were saying, which worried you slightly.
And it seemed that Fitzwilliam had noticed your straying gaze on your parents, and how your satin-gloved hands fumbled together nervously in front of you.
"Do not mind them." He muttered to you, leaning slightly towards you so you could hear him over the music.
"It is hard not to, Fitz," You spoke, turning your gaze away from your parents and back out upon the dancing. "They've been trying to find me a husband for the past couple of months. I am hoping at some point they will give up in their search."
"By the way that you speak, it would seem that you do not wish to marry." Fitzwilliam said, and you turned your head to look up at him.
"You know me, Fitzwilliam." You sighed, shaking your head slightly, "I do not want to marry someone I am unsure of. Besides, there were many whom were willing to offer marriage to a lady like me, and many of them, if I must say so myself, were handsome in all senses of the word. But from the few who have offered me marriage, I have turned away. I know that they had only seen my wealth, status, and looks rather than my personality. And I find that I cannot fathom the idea of marrying someone so shallow, or lacking in depth and solidity for that matter."
"I admire your strength of character." He said, looking down at you.
"Thank you, Fitz." You smiled sweetly up at him. "I admire your kindness and integrity." You added, your smile becoming genuine as he returned your smile with one of his own; though hardly noticeable.
"Daughter," Your gaze swiftly moved from your long-time friend to your mother, who stood with your father, and another gentleman you have never met before. "I would like you to meet Mr. Albert Wright. He's the owner of the Wright & Co. bank here in England." She informed you, a smile on her face, but her eyes held such excitement.
This Albert fellow was certainly some character, judging by his attire. His suit had a deep black waistcoat, a dark green vest, black breeches, and black shoes. And despite his clothing being quite plain, he did make an imposing figure; he was tall and broad, with a strong jawline, and he appeared to be very well built. His hair was dark brown, curly, and cut short, and his eyes a brilliant green.
You curtsied to him, trying to be as polite as possible, "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Wright." You greeted, forcing a smile upon your face.
"Please, call me Albert." He spoke, his voice deeper than you expected. Surprising you further as he bows his head and then offers you his hand. "May I have the honor of asking you to dance, my lady?"
The thought of taking his hand made you nervous, yet you took it regardless; not wanting to cause a scene or to upset your mother and father. Fitzwilliam stood helplessly as he watched you being led across the room by Mr. Albert just as another song began; his frown deepened, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched as you danced with Mr. Albert.
"Lovely match, don't you think, Mr. Darcy?" Your mother asked Fitzwilliam as she watched you dance with the banker.
Fitzwilliam reluctantly spoke, "I suppose so." He responded nonchalantly, averting his gaze momentarily before looking back over at you once more. Fitzwilliam had recognized the name Albert Wright from a couple of weeks prior. Having heard what the name had done, Fitzwilliam couldn't stop himself from warning your parents about Mr. Albert Wright's past scandal. "Madam, I understand wholeheartedly that you wish only the best for your daughter, but I feel that I must inform you that Mr. Albert was a part of a scandal many years ago regarding an older woman, whose husband was a respected merchant."
Your mother's eyes widened at the news, her hand coming to be placed upon her chest in shock, "Where did you hear of this, sir?" She inquired, your father mirroring his wife's expression, but he said nothing.
"From Miss Caroline, madam." He explained, turning to face the dancing crowd, his eyes following your figure.
Her mouth parted in surprise, her eyes widening further, "This is absolutely unacceptable! Our daughter should not associate with a man like this!" She exclaimed, her tone raising to one of anger as she glared at Mr. Albert.
By the end of the dance, Albert raised your hand and pressed a kiss to your gloved hand, bowing his head as you curtsied. Finally, you had thought, saying your goodbyes and thank yous to the man before heading back to your mother, father, and Fitzwilliam.
As you got closer, your eyebrows furrowed slightly, seeing your mother and father's angry expressions as they spoke to one another. Finding your spot next to Fitzwilliam, you leaned slightly towards the man to speak. "What has gotten my parents in such a temper?" You asked him, noticing his shoulders tensing slightly.
He glanced over at you briefly and shook his head lightly, "I am afraid I don't know. Perhaps it concerns Mr. Albert." He mused softly, keeping his eyes locked onto yours.
"But why is Papa so enraged? I haven't seen him this red since Mr. Took had tried to cheat him out of some money." You commented softly, looking up towards your parents once more.
"I believe it has to do with the fact that Mr. Albert had been a part of a scandal many years back." Fitzwilliam answered, making your jaw drop slightly, your hand coming up to cover your shock.
"And where did you hear of such a thing?" You asked quickly, wanting to know more details as to what scandal that Mr. Albert had gotten involved in.
Fitzwilliam looked down at you for a moment, turning back to the dancing, "If my memory serves me correctly, Miss Caroline had read upon it in a letter."
Trying to hide the smirk on your face, you lightly cleared your throat. "Well, isn't this unexpected," You muttered, amused. "And I could only assume that you had mentioned such news to my parents?" You asked, looking up at the name, eyes glinting with amusement.
Fitzwilliam looked down at you, nodding his head slowly, thinking, "Yes, you would be correct." He confirmed, saying nothing else which only made you smile.
"Well, thank you, Fitz," You began, "Without you, I wouldn't doubt my parents would have me married off to the man." You joked before another peaceful silence engulfed you both - that is, it was peaceful for you.
Fitzwilliam looked down at you from beneath his eyelashes, studying you carefully, almost as if he were trying to memorize every feature of your face. When he realized that he was staring, he quickly turned away, clearing his throat lightly as he gained the courage to offer his hand out. You looked over, looking up at the man, to his hand, and back.
As you raised your eyebrow in question, he finally spoke, "Would you like to dance, my lady?" He asked softly, and you couldn't help the smile that grew on your face. You had your shock well, but you were surprised that
"That sounds lovely." You whispered, placing your hand into his gently.
~~~
The sun was shining brightly as it peeked through the clouds, causing the water to sparkle with each droplet of rain that hit the surface. You love it when the sun's shining and it's raining at the same time. You had started your day as you usually did when you stayed at your family estate; waking up in your lavish bed, before getting ready for the day. Choosing one of your favorite day dresses, you style your hair neatly, grabbing a new book before leaving your chambers. Before breakfast, you did your daily practice on the piano for a moment before sitting in one of the sitting rooms and reading your book.
Joining your mother and father for breakfast, you ate delicious small cakes, breads, and hot coffee. Breakfast was pretty peaceful and quiet, aside from your father occasionally speaking up. After a while, the topic shifted from the conversation regarding your plans for the afternoon, which included spending the time walking about the grounds, as you had previously intended to do earlier in the morning.
You hid your feelings well, but you wished that you were at Pemberley at the moment. You had never really felt comfortable or a part of your family's estate. You loved both your parents dearly, but they were rather strict compared to how you're used to life at Pemberley. In truth, you missed staying there; however, you were happy that you were able to stay with your family once again and you didn't want to disrupt their routine. So, you continued to smile politely through your father's comments and continued to eat your food.
You had begun to zone out at some point of your father's speech, nodding along when you thought necessary when suddenly, you heard your name being called. You snapped your head up to see your mother with a small frown on her face. "Your father had asked you a question, young lady." She informed you. You bowed your head and apologized for spacing out. Your mother sighed, placing her small fork down on her fine China plate. "Your father had asked if you desired to attend the upcoming ball at Pemberley?" Pushing your shoulders back, your mind racking at your mother's words. But before you could answer, your mother cut back in, "We know that you don't have a fondness for such events." Your mother included, which you found odd and surprisingly thoughtful, that she was aware of your dislike for socializing, and was finally letting you have a choice in the matter.
Though, you couldn't help but wonder, why now? What had happened or what had been said that would allow your parents to change their minds? Looking up, your eyes met your mother's, "If I may, mother, I had thought that you would want me to attend such gatherings. Has something happened to change your mind so?" You asked her, tilting your head slightly as you spoke.
Your mother nodded her head, her smile widening with excitement, "Precisely so, but we have splendid news for you." Glancing to your father, he then decided to speak, clearing his throat before doing so.
"Your mother and I have found you a suitor. We have met with him many times over these past few weeks and we have deemed him to be most suitable. We have decided to arrange for your engagement with him." Your father announced.
Your breath caught in your throat, unable to utter even a word. You felt as if the world had begun to crumble around you, all your efforts of being independent forgotten as your father's words sunk in. You wanted the Earth to swallow you whole, the sky to open up and spit you back out, and any other form of escape would be welcomed by you. Your heart ached as your father finished speaking, your fingers twitching slightly as you grasped your fork tightly; your knuckles turning white.
Your lips and mouth felt extremely dry as you opened your mouth and licked your lips, a shaky breath escaping you, "Who have you arranged me with?" You asked, "... If I may inquire?" Your voice was shallow and quiet, your gaze directed downwards.
"Duke Phillip Colston, a very wealthy gentleman who lives here in England." Your father replied, watching you closely as if waiting for you to react. "I believe you'll make a very respectable wife for him, just so as long as you do not cause him too much trouble. He is an eligible bachelor after all." Your father added quietly.
Sighing inwardly, you lifted your head to look at your parents, swallowing heavily, "Do I have any say in this?" You questioned, your voice still weak as your hands clenched into fists under the table. You could feel tears building in your eyes, and you desperately blinked them away, refusing to let them fall as you tried your hardest to keep yourself composed.
"I am afraid not, dear," Your mother answered, "We have gone countless months trying to find you a respectable and kind suitor - a man who is willing and able to take care of you and provide you with all the comforts of society. And yet, all of our attempts have failed." Her tone grew seemingly irritated. "Every man we had brought to you, offering marriage, you have turned away." Her voice rose into one of anger. "You are at a point where men will not even be interested in marrying you, your refusals are becoming the talk of the town, gossip, and blather, and I will not have it." She practically spat angrily, looking up at you with fire in her eyes, a fire that you could not seem to extinguish.
You stared at your mother silently, a slight pain throbbing through your heart as you took in her words, "I understand wholeheartedly, mother," You began, pushing your chair back to stand, and setting your napkin onto your empty China plate. "I will say this, that I have no desire to marry such a man; duke or not. My heart belongs to someone who is worthy of it." You stated firmly. You then turned on your heel, walking out of the room without saying another word.
Once you were out of their sight, knowing that they weren't going to follow you, you ran. Rushing out into the hall, you ignored the odd looks from your family's servants and maids, swiftly making your way to the front doors and stumbling out into the chill air. Breathing heavily, you felt everything rushing through your veins and blood; flowing throughout your body. Without a second thought, you stepped out into the light rain before running once again.
You kept running and running, your feet stomping into the wet grass, hair plastered to your face, cold rain falling onto your face; soaking your dress. You didn't care nor have any mind to where you were running or where you were, you just needed to get away. Away from them. Away from them all. Your life, you had no power, no control over it; no matter how hard you fought against it, you could not escape fate.
You had known that at some point, your parents would grow tiresome of your constant rejection of the men they had brought to you. You knew it was going to be only a matter of time before they would just arrange for you to marry someone else. It was bound to happen sooner or later, considering your age. You weren't getting any younger, and no one wanted a spinster for a daughter.
Still breathing heavily, you came to a stop in a dewy field, your chest rising and falling as you tried to catch your breath. Finally, you let the tears fall from your eyes, your vision blurry as the water streaming down your cheeks. You wiped your cheek with your sleeve as a sob escaped your lips. You collapsed to the ground in a heap, feeling as if your heart was breaking all over again. The day of the shining sun and the falling rain, something that you had once adored, now only seemed to mock you. As you cried softly, ignoring how cold and drenched you were, you did not hear the sounds of hooves, and someone calling your name. Only when you felt someone touch your shoulder, did you look up.
Fitzwilliam's usually stoic expression was long gone, replaced with worry and concern. His brows furrowed together as he looked at your tear-stained cheeks, and your dampened dress. Fitzwilliam slowly helped you to your feet, helping you lean against him as he guided you to his horse. You did not remember much of the ride back to Pemberley, nor entering the large estate, nor when you were rushed off with a couple of housemaids. You felt numb as you were in the bath, hair being washed and skin being scrubbed. During that time, you had only wished the bath water to be scalding.
You were quickly dressed in an afternoon dress - one of the dresses that you had kept in your room for when you stayed at the estate - swiftly, you were brought to your room. You sat on your bed, in the home that you'd grown to love more than your own, gazing out the window as the rain began to slowly cease, revealing a beautiful blue sky. A sigh left your lips as a knock sounded upon your door, pulling you out of your thoughts.
"Enter," You muttered, surprisingly loud enough for the person to hear, as they opened the door.
Turning your attention from the window, you looked over to see Fitzwilliam, the same worry on his beautiful features as when he had found you in the field in the pouring rain. Silently, he sat beside you, leaving enough space to make you feel comfortable. It wasn't long until Fitzwilliam's curiosity and urgency to see whatever was the matter got the best of him. He watched as you fiddled with your fingers and sighed deeply, "What troubles you? Why were you sitting among the fields?" His voice was soft, filled with concern, and you raised your hand to your hair; brushed but not styled.
You felt your eyes well up with tears once more, a breathy sigh leaving your lips before you spoke, "I have been arranged to marry Duke Colston." You answered, a voice at the same level as the man beside you. You couldn't even bear to look at him, if you did, you were sure that the tears in your eyes would become a waterfall.
There was silence for several moments as you awaited Fitzwilliam's response. When finally, you glanced towards him, his gaze was locked straight ahead as if lost in thought, "Is this something that you are unhappy about?" Fitzwilliam inquired, his voice calm.
"Incredibly so," You answered with a breath, "I do not wish to marry that man, nor ever." You said, your words laced with bitterness, looking down at your lap, "But I do not know what to do. Despite everything, I cannot bring myself to refuse." You admitted, feeling guilty as soon as you finished speaking. Though you did not agree with the society that you lived in nor the repressing of women's voices, you knew that this was something that had to be done. Not for you, but for your family, no matter how much you detested the idea. "I will have to go along with the matter, for it pleases my family."
Fitzwilliam stared at the side of your face, subconsciously admiring you as he thought. In his heart, he despised that you were forced to marry someone who was unworthy of you - you did not deserve that, you deserved far better. But what could he do? Again, Fitzwilliam was hopeless. He was unable to do much of anything. Right before him, you were miserable, and he could do nothing but sit here and offer you comfort. He did not even know which he could offer you at this point. He could only watch helplessly as you felt like he was watching you crumble right before his very eyes. His time was up, his hopes diminished, his dreams crushed.
~~~
Fitzwilliam sat in his office, staring down at the many papers and letters before him on his desk. The ticking of the grandfather clock was loud within the silent atmosphere, its deep, heavy, and unenthusiastic noises echoing around the room, as Fitzwilliam tried to force himself to focus. He was not successful, however, as his mind drifted to you every time he closed his eyes. Every time, he would imagine you, dancing with the Duke, marrying the Duke, starting a family with the Duke. Everything that Mr. Darcy himself had desired with you.
He sighed heavily and rubbed at his forehead, closing his eyes briefly as images of you danced across his mind. You, in his arms. Dancing at the ball from only a month ago. You looked up at him with those eyes, those eyes that held his heart. You laughed, and he swore to himself that he would do everything in his power to keep you happy and laughing; he could not lose you. But he did. Why did he not ask for your hand?
A knock sounded at his office door and Fitzwilliam snapped his eyes open, turning his head to face the door. "Enter." He called out, clearing his throat. He watched as Charles Bingley, one of his friends, walked in, bowing slightly before giving him a small smile.
"Her parents have sent a carriage," He spoke to Fitzwilliam, "She'll be leaving soon, Darcy."
Fitzwilliam nodded, placing his quill back on top of his desk as he stood, walking over to the window, peering down at the carriage, "How long before she leaves?" He asked, but before he could receive an answer, he watched as you entered his vision, seemingly thanking the driver, and though reluctantly, stepping into the carriage.
Charles walked over, standing beside the man as he watched you leave. The man then glanced at his friend, observing him. The stoic look on his face, though more brooding, did not mask the sadness and pain that resided in his eyes; clearly, he cared deeply for you. Charles, and anyone else close to either of you, could have seen that.
"You care for her," Charles spoke softly, Fitzwilliam's shoulders stiffening slightly at his words, "I believe that you might even love her, Darcy."
Fitzwilliam turned toward Charles with an odd look on his face, "What makes you say such a thing?" He asked, though he already knew the answer.
"The way you look at her, the way you speak to her," Charles paused, smiling warmly at Fitzwilliam, "There is no one else that looks at her the way you do," Fitzwilliam said nothing, turning his gaze away from the window and heading back towards his desk once your carriage was out of sight. "You should go after her." Charles said suddenly before leaving the room.
Fitzwilliam sat back down at his desk, letting out a deep sigh as he let himself slouch a little. Charle's words were ringing throughout his mind, causing him to frown deeper. He didn't know how long he sat there as he stared at the paper and his quill in front of him before he suddenly stood and grabbed his coat.
~~~
Sitting in the sitting room, book in hand, your mind could hardly focus on the words written in the book. Your thoughts were all on Fitzwilliam, all on the future, and your upcoming marriage with another man you did not love. Your mind already distracted, you snapped your head over to the study's entranceway, hearing muttering coming from down the hall. You could not make out anything, only hearing that it was two men speaking, but you furrowed your brows; hearing the muttering quiet before hearing the closing of another door. Curiosity was clawing at you but you turned back to your book, trying your hardest to get back to reading it.
But as two hours passed, having checked the clock every ten minutes or so, you began to grow restless. Shutting your book, you stared at the doorway, trying to strain your ears to hear anything, but you could not make out anything. The large estate was quiet, aside from the hustling of the servants. You looked over at the clock on the wall, about to stand to practice the piano to calm your nerves before your mother walked into the room.
She stood, tall and poised as usual, a small smile on her face. With a small gesture, she told you to stand and follow her. And you did so, forgetting your book on the velvet loveseat and following your mother to your father's office. With a steady knock, the door opened and a small gasp left your lips.
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy stood beside your father, who sat at his office desk, leaned back, and with a thoughtful expression on his face. Immediately as the door opened, Fitzwilliam turned to face you, bowing respectively, as you glanced from your mother and to your father. Looking back to your long-time friend, you tilted your head to the side slightly, "Mr. Darcy, this is a surprise." You then looked to your mother and father once more, "Whatever is the matter?" You questioned.
Your father gave you a soft nod, "Please, join us." More than confused at this point - bewildered - you stepped further into the room, your mother leaving your side to stand next to your father at his desk. "Mr. Darcy here has come to inform us of something rather pressing." Your father answered finally, standing from his leather chair with a small grunt. "We shall leave you both to converse," He added as he made his way out of the room, followed by your mother.
As soon as they were gone, you turned to Fitzwilliam, "Whatever is going on, Fitzwilliam?" You asked as the man in question took a step towards you.
And though he had a small frown on his face, his blue eyes held such vulnerability, such tenderness. "My lady," He muttered, his eyes searching yours, "I must confess that I am Somewhat troubled." Letting out a small breath, he continued as you stared up at him, "For many years, I have found myself longing for you, and I can not seem to help but fall in love with you…" At his words, your eyes widened, and your lips parted slightly as he continued. "I have come to speak with your father about your arrangement. I can not force you to continue, nor can I force you to end it. But I can only hope that you could consider me as a potential suitor - husband rather, if that is agreeable to you."
You felt your breath hitch, your heart racing as you stared at the man you loved confessing that he had feelings for you, as well. After a moment, you managed to regain your composure, though you still remained speechless. Licking your dry lips briefly, you spoke, "It is," You breathed out. The words were barely above a whisper, and yet it seemed so loud to Fitzwilliam. He blinked rapidly, almost surprised at your response. You brushed the stray tear from your cheek, a small crawling sensation taking residence in your stomach. "I would be honored to accept your proposal, Fitzwilliam Darcy."
And though it was brief, you saw his smile before he took a step forward and hesitantly took your hand in his. The skin-on-skin contact, though usually forbidden between a gentleman and a young woman, caused butterflies to fill each of your stomachs as you both pressed your foreheads together, eyes fluttering shut.
~~~
The sun was shining brightly today, as were the birds who were singing their songs in the tree branches, which were swaying lightly in the breeze; the light rain drizzled down from the sky. A content smile spread across your face as you leaned against the railing, overlooking the beautiful gardens that surrounded the estate. Your smile only widened as you felt a pair of arms slowly wrap around your waist, tugging you back into the warmth of Fitzwilliam's body. You hummed and rested your head upon his chest, your hands coming up to cover his.
His arms tightened around your body, pulling you closer to him. "Good morning, my love." He spoke softly, planting a gentle kiss upon your temple. His lips moved along the soft skin of your cheek gently, causing you to shiver as goosebumps rose along your skin.
"Good morning, Fitz," You whispered in return. "I do declare that this is the most beautiful day I've ever experienced." You sighed out as he chuckled, nuzzling into your neck before pressing his lips to the skin there.
"That it is," He agreed before lifting his head and looking into your eyes. He gazed at you lovingly, brushing the hair from your face before leaning in and placing a soft kiss upon your lips. You sighed as he pulled away, allowing his forehead to rest against yours. Your fingers ran through his short hair, gently scratching his scalp as he hummed contently, enjoying the feeling.
"What is the time?" You asked, breaking the silence.
He glanced at his pocket watch, "Just past eight," He stated, giving you a fond smile, "Shall we head to breakfast?" He then suggested, earning a nod from you. Taking your hand in his, you brought it up to your lips, pressing your own kisses to his knuckles before he began to lead you from the balcony.
Behind the both of you, outside the window, just as the rain began to fade away... A rainbow slowly appeared.

Artist || Fred Weasley x fem!Reader
Summary: Fred finds himself in the same classroom as Y/n, they soon bond over Y/n's art piece.
Words: 2,259
All My Stories
Sitting on a stool, Y/n leans in to get a better view of her canvas. Something about it looks wrong to her, she couldn't tell what. She attempted to paint the view from where she was sitting. She looked out the window at what she was trying to recreate, then back at her canvas. Sighing, she leans back rubbing her eyes in frustration.
She then hears the door to the empty classroom she was in open. Turning her head to the noise, she sees a tall red head shut the doors quickly behind him. Unsure what the sudden commotion is, Y/n stayed in her seat which was located in the far corner of the classroom. She quickly identified the boy as one of the Weasley twins, she just couldn't tell which one from where she was sitting.
She watches as the boy looks around the classroom, his eyes landing on her. He was a bit out of breath from running, he stood with his back to the door as he caught his breath. After a few moments of them staring at each other, Y/n looks away, back out the window.
Letting his curiousness control him, he walks over to the girl, taking a peek at her art. Y/n looks back at the twin, now close enough to identify that it is Fred. "This is bloody brilliant!" He says, leaning into the painting with his hands behind his back.
"Thank you," Y/n says a bit shyly. Y/n never talked to either of the twins before even though they are all in the same year, they are also all Gryffindors. She wasn't like them, energetic and friendly with everyone she met. Yes, she was nice to everyone she met, but it takes more time for her to be able to befriend the person.
If anything, she hated people that would befriend anyone and anything, she found the behavior fake. She needed a reason to be friends with someone, needed a special connection. She felt as if a friendship wasn't special if you act the same with everyone else. So at first, she was a bit hesitant to befriend a Weasley. Sure, she found him a bit cute, but that didn't mean anything if they didn't know each other.
Y/n watches as Fred looks at her, saying, "What are you painting?" She leans away from the window so he can see the view. He looks out, his eyebrows raised in surprise to how similar the view and the painting are. "That's seriously incredible, I didn't know you painted!"
"You don't know a lot of things about me," Y/n slightly jokes, but she really did know he knew nothing about her.
"That's not true, I know you're really quiet and smart." Fred says, looking down at the seated girl.
"And how do you know that?" Y/n looks up, slightly smiling.
Fred smiles, going back to observing the painting. "We are in a lot of the same classes, didn't think I noticed you?" He asks.
"Honestly, no." Y/n laughs, wondering why he would have noticed her when he spends all class joking around with other people.
"Well I have, for a while actually." He says, turning back to the girl. Suddenly, hurried footsteps are heard outside the classroom door. Fred hears this and hides next to a bookshelf that is blocking him from the view of the door.
Y/n looks over, seeing a Professor Snape burst into the room. He looks around the room, then spots Y/n. "Ms. Y/l/n, have you seen George or Fred Weasley?" He says in his low voice. It was obvious Fred has done something wrong, and obviously to the wrong person. The last person you should mess with is Snape, the consequences would be essay after essay.
"No, Professor Snape." Y/n responds, saving Fred.
"Very well," Snape responds, his eyes flickering from the painting back to her, nodding and exiting the room. Y/n looks over at Fred once Snape fully closed the door.
"Thanks for saving me, Y/n." Fred says, stepping away from the bookshelf, walking back to Y/n.
"So what did you do for Snape to be looking for you?" Y/n asks.
"Me and Geroge pulled a prank, we switched some of the potions around. We wanted one of our classmates to be the ones with the switched potions, but of course Snape had to use them." Y/n smiles, trying to imagine what kind of explosion happened to Snape.
"You can't hide forever, you know."
"Yeah, I know." Fred laughs. Y/n laughs back, then turns her attention back to her painting, still trying to figure out what was wrong with it. "You're not finished?"
"No, I can't figure out what's wrong with it, it looks empty." Fred looks at her confused, genuinely thinking the painting is perfect.
"Maybe it needs people?" Fred suggests.
"You're right!" Y/n exclaims. "I don't know why I didn't think of that!" Fred smiles, crossing his arms as he watches the girl in front of him turn to look at him. He raises his eyebrows, interested in what shes going to say. "Want to add someone?"
Surprised, Fred shakes his head. "No, I wouldn't want to ruin it."
Y/n laughs, getting up from the stool. "No, please, if its really bad I can paint over it." Fred gives in, sitting down and picking up the paint brush. Y/n stands behind him, watching as he nervously picked up orange paint with the brush. "Never would I thought Fred Weasley would be nervous to paint something." She laughs.
Huffing a laugh, he says, "I don't want to mess it up too bad!" Y/n laughs again, placing her hand on his shoulder for comfort.
"Don't worry! Seriously!" Fred slightly smiles as he feels her hand on him. She watches as he paints himself under one of the trees, it honestly looked like a crazy 5 year old painted it. But she didn't mind, she thought it looked special, no other professional painting has a messy painting of Fred in it.
"Done." He says, turning his head up to Y/n. Y/n looks down from the painting, meeting his eyes. Laughing as he smiles, he says, "What? Scared I'm going to steal your talent, Y/n?"
"Terrified!" Y/n chuckles, looking back at the painting. "You should paint me now," She suggests, not really wanting the moment to end. Fred nods, not wanting the moment to end either, the feeling of her hand still on his shoulder felt special. He then turns back and starts painting Y/n.
He starts drawing the body, making her the same size as him. "So I'm the same height as you?" Y/n teases.
"I never said I was good with proportions." Fred smiles. Once he finished he said, "What a beautiful girl!"
"I can't tell if that even is a girl!" Y/n laughs, making Fred look up at her with a playful frown.
"Sorry I'm not as talented at art as you are!" He exclaims.
"You'll get there," Y/n pats his shoulder, then removed her hand from him.
Hiding his disappointment of her removing her hand, he asks, "Do you have other paintings you've done?" Y/n nods, walking over to a wardrobe in the room. As she opens it, many finished art works, unfinished paintings, and empty canvases were revealed. "Wow, and they let you keep everything in here?" Fred asks as he picks up one of the paintings.
"Yeah, one of the Professors let me use this classroom. Said to just be prepared to pack up in case the room was needed."
Fred nods, observing the art works. He then stopped, turning to her with a serious face. "You really are talented, Y/n."
Y/n studies his face, seeing he really means what he says. "Thank you, Fred." She smiles. Yeah, she's used to a few people telling her she is good at art, but it was different coming from Fred.
Suddenly, Fred's eyes widen. "Shit," He mutters, "I have to get to Quidditch practice!" He places the art back where he picked them up from. "So you're in this classroom everyday after classes?" He asks, walking towards the door.
"Yeah," Y/n calls out.
Fred turns around before he exits the room, he nods and makes a mental note so he can find you after school. "Goodbye, Y/n."
"Goodbye, Fred." She smiles, watching him leave.
~~~~
The next day, Y/n and Fred weren't able to talk in classes, there was never an opportunity to. So Y/n is sitting in the same empty classroom, sitting in the same stool, staring at an empty canvas. She tapped her fingers against her forehead as she tried thinking of what to draw.
She then turns her head as she hears the doors open, the same tall twin walked into the room with a smile on his face. "How did I know I would find you here?" He asks, walking over to Y/n.
"I wonder," She jokes.
"So, what will be the next art piece?" He asks, stopping next to her.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out." She sighs, looking back at the canvas.
"How about this," He starts, "You paint me and I'll paint you. I'll actually try this time, I promise."
Looking back up at him, she smiles. "Okay." She gets up, grabbing another canvas for him. They get situated, both facing each other and unable to see each others work.
As they worked, they got to know each other more. Fred did most of the talking, but she didn't mind, she liked listening to him ramble about little things. She got to know what he was planning on doing outside of Hogwarts, start a joke shop with his brother.
"I better get a discount in this store." Y/n jokes, adding details to the painting.
"Bold of you to assume you are allowed to even enter my store!" Fred says, looking up at the girl to see how her hair lays.
"Excuse me!" Y/n exclaims, looking up at him with her mouth opened in a dramatic way.
"I'm only kidding!" He says, looking back down and adding strokes of hair to the art. "You're allowed in there at least once,"
Y/n scoffs, playfully rolling her eyes at him. She enjoyed the playful banter, it was more fun with Fred than most of the people at Hogwarts. "Are you almost done?" She asks, finishing the painting.
"Hmm," He says, looking back up at her, staring for a bit too long, then looking down. Y/n noticed the lingering look, hiding her smile as she catches him slightly blushing. "Uh- yeah I'm done." She fully smiles, laughing lightly. "What?" Fred asks, looking up at her.
"Nothing." Y/n says, ready to show him the painting. "Let me see yours first.
Fred nods, pausing dramatically. He then quickly turns it around, revealing an okay painting of her. It was much better then the previous day, more detailed. "Wow, she's pretty," She jokes, reaching out for the painting.
"I know." He mutters, watching as she studies his work. He smiles seeing her grin. She then places the painting down, picking up the painting of him, showing him. His face brightens up even more seeing him as a painting. "That's how you see me? I'm surprised you're not in love with me. What a handsome lad!"
Y/n laughs, handing him the painting, then picking the art of her back up. "You might really steal my talent, Fred!" Y/n jokes. "I might have to hang this in my room!"
"You better! I spent my precious time on that!" Fred exclaims. Smiling, Y/n looks around the room, noticing it is now dark outside. Fred notices too, then looks back at Y/n. "Hope I didn't keep you here," Fred says, feeling a bit bad for using up so much of her time.
"You didn't, I enjoyed our time together." She smiles, getting up. "We better get back before it's past curfew." Fred nods, getting up as well. They both had each other's art in their hands as they walked to the common room, chatting about random things.
"Why do you spend breakfast alone?" Fred randomly asks. Y/n looks at him confused, wondering when he noticed this. "Again, you really think I don't notice you, Y/n?"
"No, you are always so busy with everyone." Y/n says, still looking at him as they continue to walk.
"I'm never busy for you," He says with a playful tone, smiling down at her. Y/n feels her heart beat quicken a bit, the corners of her mouth lifting as she looks ahead of her.
"To answer your question, I guess no one invites me to sit with them, so I don't want to intrude. I don't really mind it."
"You can sit with me, you know? I'm sure- no, I know George would love to get to know you." Looking back up at him, she smiles.
"Okay, I'll sit with you tomorrow then."
"Good," Fred grins, noticing they arrived at the fat lady painting. They enter the almost empty common room then walk up the stairs together. "Good night, Y/n, see you at breakfast." Fred says, watching Y/n turn to him.
"Good night, Fred." Y/n says, turning back around and entering the girls section of the dorms.
The End
A/n: I might add more onto this, I'm not sure though, but I really like this! I think it's so cute. Thank you all for the support I have been getting! I love you all so much!!
All My Stories
A/n: so sorry it took so long for me to write this! I literally decided to delete the whole story and rewrite it when I was almost done because i hated it.. sorry! Idk how i feel about this story so lmk to delete it LMAO
Y/n sits in potions, trying her best to consentrate on Professor Snape's lecture, but her mind keeps wondering off to the upcoming Quidditch match, Slytherin vs. Hufflepuff. Being the captain of Slytherin, her mind was always on Quidditch, even when she knew she should focus on her school work. She tries to picture how the match will go, her catching the snitch, outflying Cedric Diggory.
Y/n and Cedric didn't know each other outside of the game. Of course Y/n's competitiveness would set a divide if they ever became friends, Quidditch always came before any friendship in her mind. Although she knew it wasn't a good mindset, she couldn't help it. The talk from around the school about how Cedric is so perfect, best Quidditch captain, good looking, and more, never made Y/n more fond of the boy.
Professor Snape eyed Y/n as he spoke, knowing her mind was elsewhere. "Ms. Y/l/n," He started, interrupting his own lecture. Y/n blinks, clearing her mind and turning her attention to Snape, her face becoming a bit heated. "care to repeat what I just said?"
Y/n looks up at her Professor, becoming a bit shy out of embarrassment. Slowly shaking her head, she replies, "I don't know, sir."
"Would anyone like to show that they were listening, unlike Y/l/n?" Snape coldly says, looking around the room. Although embarrassed, Y/n looked around the room, seeing multiple hands raised. "Mr. Diggory?"
A smug look appeared on Cedric's face as he answered, "You said that we will be learning how to create the potion, 'Draught of Living Death'. This potion can send someone into a slumber that is similar to death," He pauses, his eyes on Y/n, "sir." Y/n looks at him, her eyebrows turning down into frustration, her mouth slightly in a frown.
Obviously no one liked being shown up, but it was Cedric Diggory, so she hated it even more. What she hated even more was his smug face, slightly smirking as Snape says, "Very good, Cedric. 5 points from Slytherin, 5 points to Hufflepuff." Y/n finally breaks her death stare at Cedric, looking down at the desk in front of her.
~~~~
After giving a speech to her team in the shared locker room, Y/n puts herself into the mindset to win. As she leads her team onto the pitch, she looks over at the Hufflepuff team. Still frustrated at the situation in potions class, a dirty look was thrown to Cedric. Cedric turns his head at the Slytherin team, smirking at the obviously angered girl. He knew how to piss her off, and it was certainly working.
Hearing Slytherin being called, Y/n and her team hop on their brooms, flying around as the Slytherin section cheers. Y/n's mood lightens at this, the thoughts of Cedric gone. She then hears Hufflepuff being called, the Hufflepuff fans roar over Slytherin. Not minding this, Y/n focuses on the game, getting ready to play.
The game starts, Y/n immediately going for the snitch, Cedirc does the same. While points were being scored and announced, Y/n ignores everything, focusing on the tricky ball. The snitch moves fast, Y/n and Cedric flew side by side, slightly behind it.
After about 14 minutes of chasing the snitch, the 2 seekers were extremely high off the ground. Suddenly, the snitch flys down, making them fly quickly after it. They both reach out while still flying down, Cedric then bumps into Y/n, trying to get her out of the way. Feeling this, Y/n steadies herself, then bumps him back a little harder.
Cedric returns the bump, a lot harder then he intended it to be. He finally catches the snitch, a huge smile on his face. "Cedric Diggory catches the snitch! Hufflepuff wins!" Was said over the roaring cheers from Hufflepuff. Cedric was ecstatic, adrenaline still running through his body as he stops his broom, floating in mid air. He raises the hand that holds the snitch in the air, the smile never leaving his face.
Suddenly he is confused why Y/n suddenly disappeared. Although he was still smiling, a pity look was on his face. He knew Y/n was competitive, he assumed she stormed off already because of her loss. Cedric then looks as Y/n's teammates fly down to the floor, seeing Y/n hunched over, facing the ground.
When Cedric bumped into her the second time, he made her lose control. She got knocked off her broom, hitting the ground. She didn't fall too high out of the air, but enough for it to make a mark on her. Anger grew in her, Cedric just won the game and she knew she wouldn't be able to play in the next match.
Y/n sat on her knees, facing the ground hunched over, her hand holding the side she landed on. Cedric flew down, guilt rushing over him. He gets off his broom, running over to Y/n. "Y/n!" He says as he grabs her, helping her up. Y/n accepts this help until she sees Cedric.
Pushing him away, she says, "Asshole!" She couldn't feel the pain because of how angered she was, tears forming in her eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed as she was backing up, she was still facing him. He stood there, unsure of what to do. He knew she was angry, he was a bit angered at himself too, he also knew she was in pain.
Y/n turns around, storming off of the pitch as the pain starts rushing to her. One of her teammates helped her to Madam Pomfrey's office. Although still angry, Y/n answers the nurses questions about her pain nicely, not bringing her anger out on Madam Pomfrey.
Nothing was broken but Madam Pomfrey asked for Y/n to stay the night to see how she would feel in the morning. Even though she didn't want to, Y/n agreed and laid on a bed, taking the pain killing potion Pomfrey gave her.
After an hour of being alone with her thoughts, Y/n stares at the ceiling, replaying the events that just happened. God she hated Cedric. She didn't realize how tense her face was until she relaxed it when Madam Pomfrey came over to her to tell her a guest was here for her.
Y/n smiles and nods, watching the nurse call over the guest to her. She watches as Cedric reveals himself, pity in his eyes. Madam Pomfrey leaves, allowing Cedric to sit in the chair next to Y/n's bed. As soon as the nurse turned around, Y/n's face dropped, a huff escaping her as she watched him sit down.
"Y/n," He starts, looking her in her eyes. He noticed her hair was still messy from the match, her Quidditch uniform still on. "I'm really sorry."
"You're an asshole, you know that?" Y/n coldly responds, staring deep into his eyes. He nods, looking down at the bed for a second, trying to think of things to say.
"I know," He looks back at her, "I'm not going to leave you alone until you know how sorry I truly am."
Y/n scoffs, "Your little charming tacit wont work on me, so save it."
"Y/n, I'm serious, I didn't mean to hit you that hard, I'm truly sorry."
Y/n notices somethings sincere about him, she didn't know if it was the look he gave her, or his tone of voice, or was it both? She ignores this, her eyebrows tense as she looks at him. "Just leave, Cedric, you're wasting your time. Go celebrate your win." She says coldly once again.
He thinks for a second, still holding eyecontact so she knows how serious he is. "I'll leave you alone, but I'm not going to stop bothering you until you accept my apology." He says, getting up. "Goodnight, Y/n." He walks away, making his way out of the room.
Y/n spent the night thinking about Cedric, even though she told herself not to and to get rest, but she couldn't. She knew he was just trying to win the match, that's why he did what he did, she would do the same to win.
~~~~
Y/n got little sleep, an hour or 2 was the most she had her eyes closed for. She woke up less angry at Cedric, but she still was upset at her loss. Madam Pomfrey lets her stay in bed for a little bit before sending her to class with a note saying where she was and why she was late. Once she arrived back at her dorm, Y/n quickly took a shower, changed into her robes and got her books for class.
By the time she was done, it was potions class. She opens the door to the silent class, everyone turns around to see who was late. Y/n awkwardly walks over to Professor Snape who had his eyebrow raised at her. She hands him the note then walks over to her seat and sits down.
Y/n pulls out her potions book as she looks at what the person next to her was doing. She opens the book then turns it to the same page, reading the passage.
As the class went on, Cedric kept looking at Y/n, making sure she wasn't in visible pain. He noticed her hand on the arm she landed on, but it looked like she didn't know she was doing it. Once he even caught her glancing back at him, his eyebrows untense from worry as he saw her looking at him.
~~~~
Y/n sat in the library by herself, catching herself up from all the classes she missed. As she was doing so, the chair next to her was suddenly pulled out from the table, someone sitting in it. She looks over, her eyes laying on Cedric looking at the paper she was writing on. "What class is that for?" He asks, hoping to ease some tension. He also hopped this question made it so that she didn't shoo him away.
Y/n looks at him for a second, a silent sigh escaped her. She looked at him with an unreadable face, "Herbology."
Cedric nods, taking his eyes off the paper and looking at Y/n. "Um, how are you feeling?"
"Sore." She says shortly. Realizing shes being rude with her one-word replies, she says, "Nothings broken, obviously, but lots of bruising."
Cedric notices that she's continuing the conversation, taking it as a good sign. "I'm sorry, Y/n." He says with a serious face.
Y/n nods, her eyes leaving his for a second, then coming back. "It's fine, I probably would have done the same," she pauses, "but I probably wouldn't have apologized." She jokes, slightly smiling at him.
He huffs a laugh, grinning and slightly shaking his head. "I know you wouldn't." Y/n laughs, turning her head back to her paper. Cedric sits there for a moment, wanting to continue conversation. Before he was able to say anything else, his friends came up to him.
"Cedric, we're going to that Gryffindor party, lets go." One of them say. Y/n looks up at his friends as they pull Cedric up from the chair.
"Okay, I'll be right there." Cedric says as his friends walk away. He then turns back to Y/n. "Want to come?"
Y/n smiles at his offer, suddenly having a soft spot for a boy she just hated. "I have lots of work to catch up on, thank you though."
Cedric nods, returning her smile. "I'll see you later then, Y/n."
"See you," Y/n replies, watching him walk away.
As she finished her work, Y/n's mind kept wondering back to Cedric. She was glad she was introduced to his nice side, she was honestly getting tired of having a rivalry with him. She oddly felt closer to him, they've known each other for years, but their only interactions were all negative. But now, she felt comfortable with him, almost like they have been friends for years.
~~~~
It was now the next day, Y/n had a free period which she spent in the court yard. She had no school work to do so she sat on a bench, reading her book. The court yard was mostly empty, a few kids in different years were the only other people. She noticed someone walking to her out of the corner of her eye, she looked up.
She saw Cedric smiling down at her as he sat next to her, "What are you reading?" He asks, leaning down a bit to see. Y/n smiles at him, she placed her finger on the page she was reading as a bookmark and flips the cover over for him to see. He nods, a smile still on his face.
"You know you don't have to say you're sorry anymore?" Y/n jokes, assuming that's the reason he is coming over to her.
Cedric looks from the book to her face, laughing at her joke. "Yes, I know." He pauses, "Who would have thought I enjoyed your company?" She cracks a smile and scoffs a bit, not really believing him, wondering if he's just doing it out of pity.
Closing her book fully, not caring what page shes on anymore, she turns her full attention to the boy sitting next to her. "So, you have a free period?"
Nodding, he replies, "Yeah. I was walking to the library to study, but then I saw you and decided to say hi."
She smiles at his words, feeling no hatred for him anymore. "Well that's nice of you."
He nods, continuing to look at her. "I like this side of you, it's better than your competitive side."
"Yeah, and all it took was you to knock me off my broom." She jokes, chuckling a bit.
He laughs, "I would have done that much sooner if I knew we could be friends."
"Well how kind of you." Y/n laughs, subconsciously touching the side of her arm she fell on.
Cedric noticed this, his heart had a pang of curiosity and worry. "Can I see.. the bruise?" Although a bit surprised at his request, Y/n nods and rolls her sleeve up all the way to her shoulder. Turning so he can see it better, Y/n looks at the bruise herself. It was a lot worse than it was the day before.
Cedric's eyes widen a bit in surprise, guilt washing over him. He reaches out, gently moving her arm to see it better. Leaning in, he whispers, "I'm sorry."
Noticing the close proximity, Y/n gets a bit tense, slightly hitching her breath as she responds, "It's okay, I'll just get you back next match."
Cedric laughs, looking up at her. "I guess so." He pauses. "Hey, promise me we wont let competition interfere with us?"
She looks at him, feeling the seriousness in the air. Y/n nods, she is glad that there is an "us".
~~~~
The next week, Y/n and Cedric grew close, they bonded over little things that they never knew they had in common. Y/n sat in the bleachers, cheering Cedric on in the Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw match. Once Cedric caught the snitch, once again, she couldn't help but have a huge grin on her face for him.
Y/n exited the bleaches, hoping she could catch Cedric before he made it into the locker room. While walking, she notices the Hufflepuff team exiting the pitch, everyone cheering Cedric on. Hearing this caused Y/n to laugh as she spots the brown haired boy.
Debating if she should call out his name, Cedric looks over at Y/n, his smile somehow grew. Her heart fluttered at this, even after he won a big game he was even happier to see her. They both sped up to each other, holding their arms out for a hug. Once they were in each others arms, Y/n shouts over the cheering, "Congratulations on the win!"
Cedric looks down at her, still hugging her. "Couldn't have done it if you weren't watching."
"So you were trying to impress me?" Y/n teases.
He laughs, "Maybe."
~~~~
The 2 spent their free period everyday with each other, sneaked glances in Potions class, and would bring up each other while talking with their friends. Their feelings for each other grew, one day it grew unbearable for Cedric. Y/n noticed a change in him right away.
While she sat with her friends in the Great Hall, Cedric would not take his eyes off of her. Y/n's friend pointed it out a few times during breakfast, her friend knew he was interested. Y/n looked at him, giving him an confused smile, all she got in return was a small smile as he continued to stare.
Unsure of his weird behavior, she decided to wait until her free period to see if he was still being weird. As soon as her class was over, she walked to the court yard to meet up with Cedric. Sitting on the same bench they always do, she watches as people pass by, walking to their classes.
Suddenly a hand reached out for her. She looked up at Cedric who had that same infatuated look on his face as he did at breakfast. "I want to show you something." He says, keeping his hand out for her to grab. Y/n looked at the hand, then back at him as she placed her palm on his.
Smiling, Cedric intertwines his fingers with hers, guiding her through the now empty hallways. Y/n recognized where they were going, the Astronomy tower. Glancing down at their connected hands, Y/n can't help but feel how intimate the moment seemed.
They climbed up the steps, finally arriving at the top. "You know I've been here before, right?" Y/n asks.
"Yeah," He pauses as he leads her over to the railing. "but have you seen that?" He points with his unoccupied hand. Y/n follows the gaze to many trees that have turned different colors due to the seasons changing. Y/n talked about wanting to see these kinds of trees and how shes only seen pictures. "Those are the ones you mentioned, right?"
Y/n nods as she looks out. She loved the sight of the trees, but she loved that it was Cedric that showed them to her more. Y/n looks over at him, a compassionate look in her eyes. Something came over her, she reached out and placed her empty hand on his cheek, looking deep into his eyes. "Thank you for showing me this."
Cedric's heart beat quickened at the feeling of her hand against his cheek, he lets out a breath. "Of course," A comfortable silence came over them, they were both thinking the same thing. "Y/n.."
Y/n felt her heart beat quicken as his hands are placed on her hips, letting go of her hand. She raised her hand to his other cheek, slowly bringing his face down to hers. Letting a subtle shaky breath out, Y/n places her lips on his, gently kissing him. He pulls her closer to him with the hands on her hips, kissing her back. The kiss was slow and passionate, it was obvious they were both waiting for it.
Y/n felt a smile against her lips causing her to smile in return. They separate from the kiss, looking each other in the eyes once again. They both smiled at each other, Cedric looked down at her, admiring everything about her face. "I really like you, Y/n." He quietly says, just in the right volume for the moment.
"I really like you too, Cedric." Y/n replied, brushing a hair that fell in his face.
The Promise || Bruce Wayne x fem!Reader (Battinson)
Summary: Y/n and Bruce were old friends in grade school that lost connection after Bruce's parents died. Y/n is now an actor, she is now in her first big movie with big actors. With some hope of him showing up, Y/n sends Bruce an invitation, not thinking he would actually show up.
Words: 1,073
All My Stories
Sitting in front of her vanity, Y/n starts applying make up to her face, getting ready for the red carpet premiere for her new movie. She got lost in thought as she swiped make up brushes across her face, nervous for how the movie turned out. She knew she wasn't a bad actor, but this being her first big lead role, it worried her having the most screen time.
Taking a deep breath in hopes to calm herself, she then thinks about Bruce Wayne. She embarrassingly remembered how she invited him to come to the premiere and heard no answer back. They haven't had contact since grade school, and haven't seen each other since high school. She then reminds herself of why she did it, the promise.
Since the very first day of kindergarten to the start of 3rd grade, Y/n and Bruce were irresistible. They were always seen together, Y/n was like Mr. and Mrs. Wayne's second child. Right before Bruce's parents died, they had their last normal hang out at the park. Being 3rd graders, they were swinging on the swings, the fall breeze picking up and the sun's golden hue poking through the trees.
Y/n and Bruce sat their talking about random things, somehow ending up on a topic of what they wanted to be when they get older. Swinging her legs slowly, barely moving the swing, Y/n exclaimed, "I'm going to be an actress!"
"Really?" Bruce asked, looking over at his friend. He was swinging high off the ground, higher than Y/n was.
"Yeah, and I'm going to go to Hollywood, and walk down the red carpet!" Y/n's young self says, getting excited by the thought.
"Promise you'll bring me with when you're famous?" Bruce asked, slowing down his swinging.
Y/n looked over at him with a big grin, "Of course!" She held out her pinky, waiting for him to complete the pinky promise. "Promise you'll come with?"
"Of course!" Young Bruce exclaimed, interlocking his pinky finger with hers, completing the pinky promise.
After this hang out, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne were killed, creating their friendship to become rocky. Y/n grieved for them as well, again, they were like her second parents. The hang outs after their death became less frequent and more different. Their last hang out was the end of primary school, they split their ways in middle school. Y/n never wanted this, she always wanted her best friend with her through every year of school. Bruce was completely different.
By the time it was high school, Y/n always saw Bruce walking in the halls with his head down and headphones on. They had a few classes together, but Bruce never approached her, neither did she approach him. After high school, she only rarely saw him on the news since he was like a celebrity.
Now, here she was, in New York, sitting in front of her vanity mirror, still thinking about him. She felt this connection with him, even if they haven't talked for almost 20 years.
She finished up her make up, cleaning off any mascara she got on her eyelids. Then, she got up and turned her head to her full length mirror, making sure her outfit looked good. Once she was ready, she headed outside to be picked up by a limo. The whole ride their, hope of Bruce showing up rested in the back of her mind.
She exited the limo, plastering a smile on her face as she heard her named being screamed by fans and photographers. She glanced at around the red carpet looking for any sign of Bruce Wayne. She slightly shook her head and closed her eyes, calming herself and walking over to the fans.
After taking pictures, signing different objects, and having brief conversations with fans, Y/n made her way over to an interviewer who was calling her over. She smiled at the man and the camera.
"Hello, Y/n Y/l/n!" The man smiled, "You look beautiful tonight!"
"Thank you so much!" Y/n replied.
"Of course, mind if we asked you a few questions?" Y/n nods her head, waiting for the questions. The interviewer asked a few questions, Y/n answered as best as she could without spoiling the movie. Then the interviewer asked his last question, "And one more question, how exciting is it for one of your first movies to be as big as it is?"
"Oh my gosh, it's seriously mind blowing. I actually feel like I'm in a dream." Y/n answers with a kind, enthusiastic voice and a smile still on her face.
Y/n suddenly turned her head at a name being called. "Bruce Wayne! Bruce Wayne here!" The crowd called, cameras flashing. Y/n looked at a man who just exited the car, his hair dark and long. Her mouth parted slightly, her breath hitched in shock. He was really here, in New York, for her.
The interviewer heard Bruce Wayne's name being called, his attention turn to the commotion. "Bruce Wayne? Why is he here?" He asked.
"I invited him." The words came out of her mouth, almost in a whisper as she watched him with slightly wide eyes. Bruce slightly turned his head down, away from the crowd of fans. "I'm sorry, I have to go. It was really nice meeting you." Y/n turned to the interviewer and placed a hand on his arm that was holding the microphone, then she smiled and quickly walked away.
With his head still down, his eyes looked up, looking for any sign of Y/n. Once his eyes caught a girl with a huge grin on her face walking towards him, the corner of his mouth lifted. He turned his head to the girl, walking towards her as well. Once they got to each other, Y/n couldn't help but give him a hug, he hugged back.
"You came." Y/n said, still in shock. She smiled as he held her in his arms.
"You invited me." He replied, smiling a bit more. Once they broke apart, they faced each other, holding each others arms. In a blink, he looked her up and down. "You look.. really good."
Somehow her smile became even bigger, lightly blushing. "Thank you. You look really good too, Bruce." He grinned, his eyes stuck to her.
"Thank you." He replied.
The End
Distance || Robert Pattinson x fem!Reader
Summary: Y/n is working on a new big movie where her character is extremely mentally drained. Putting everything into the role, Y/n herself acts different towards everyone, including her fiancé, Robert Pattinson.
Words: 1,637
All My Stories
Warnings: Reader has a breakdown, it's just mentions of mental health, nothing too descriptive.
A/n: I don't put warnings in my stories, so take that as you will i guess?? Lol
When Y/n read through the script of her new movie, she grew worried at the amount of emotion that she has to put into her character. In the beginning of filming, everything was fine, mostly because all they were filming was the happy scenes in the movie. Towards the end, cast mates, directors, friends and family members noticed change in Y/n on and off the set.
The movie was filmed in the US, meaning Y/n and Robert wouldn't be together during the filming of her movie. Although they always called, FaceTimed, texted and sent each other stuff, the distance was hard. Robert started noticing Y/n response to texts slowly go from 1 minute, to 5, to 30, to hours. He never made a big deal about it, he didn't want to stress her out.
One day was particularly hard for Y/n to film. She wasn't able to sleep the night before, it was already a long day of filming, and she missed Rob so much. She was on set getting ready to film a scene where she was on the bathroom floor, crying hysterically. She was incredibly tired, she just wanted to go home, her head was fuzzy from how many scenes that day where she was crying and drained.
As she heard the director yell, "Action!" Y/n's head was blank, she was just thinking about pushing through the scene, but that only made her more upset. The camera panned on her standing up in the door of the bathroom. Her face had a blank, exhausted look, and it was 100% real. Her breaths became short and quick, her shoulders moving up and down.
Of course, to everyone on set she was just acting, and she was doing a damn good job. Her hair was pulled back in a low, messy bun, with her baby hairs blocking some of her face. Her eyes started darting around the fake bathroom, her breathing becoming heavier, indicating she was going to start crying.
She absentmindedly closed the door behind her without turning around, backing up and sliding her body down the door. Her eyes darted everywhere but the camera as it moved down to her. Tears weld up as she slid her hands across her face to move her hair.
She was now crying, her mouth open trying to catch air. "I can't do this," she whispered, growing even more dizzy from taking short breaths. "I can't do this," She repeated louder. She swallowed hard as tears were basically drowning her. In this scene, there was no dialog, everyone thought she was improvising because it fit the movie, but she wasn't.
The camera continuously slowly zoomed in, watching her hiccup her breaths. "I can't do this!" She shouts, bringing her hands to her hair, tightening her fists. Obviously, she was having a breakdown, but so was her character.
Once the director finally stopped filming, Y/n didn't move, her head in her hands hysterically crying. Everyone started cheering for her until they saw how she was still crying. She slowly got up, using the sink ledge to steady her because she was extremely light headed. One of her cast members, Jess, was the first to run over to her, putting her arm around her to steady her. They walked off set, into her trailer van.
Y/n thanks Jess, telling her she just needs to be alone. She nods, respecting Y/n's privacy. Once she was alone, Y/n laid on her bed, still crying. She wanted to be held by her fiancé, it's been too long now. She hasn't texted him in a few days, she hasn't even picked up her phone. She was either on set filming, or hiding in her van. At this point she didn't even know where her phone was.
Once she cooled down, she got up and looked around for her phone. She spotted it on the kitchen counter. She tried turning it on, but it was dead. As she plugged it in, she zoned out waiting. She was struggling to think of the happy things she was able to do after the movie was done.
She then thought about how her breakdown on set would get out to the public, they always do. Her phone lit up, bringing her out of her thoughts. She unlocked it, looking at the messages icon. 89 missed texts. She opened the app, seeing most of them were from Robert. The messaged spanned from 5 days ago to now. ~
Rob 💗: ^New Messages^ -Hey, we haven't called in a while, everything okay? -Call me when you can, okay? -Love?
-You're worrying me -You never responded to my texts yesterday -Is filming going well?
-Y/n please respond. -Just send me something to let me know you're okay
-Y/n -Please call me *4 missed calls* -Jess told me what happened, please answer. *2 missed calls* -What's going on?
~ Y/n reads the messages, heart aching. She sits there for a second, deciding whether calling him will make her calm down, or if it would make her miss him more and make her more sad. She stares down at her phone, still thinking. Then she presses 'call'.
There was barley any time for the phone to ring before Robert picked up. "Love, talk to me, what happened?" Robert's worried voice came through the phone. Y/n paused, listening to his voice, tears coming back to her eyes. She swallowed hard once again, hitching a deep breath.
"Rob.." She pauses once more. He waits for her to keep talking. She then starts explaining her situation. She tells him how much this role has affected her mentally, how much she loses sleep, how much she needs him.
"I had no clue you were feeling this- why didn't you tell me this!" He wasn't mad, he was extremely worried. He cursed at himself for not doing something sooner. But at the same time, there was nothing he could do.
"I don't know, I was just going to wait until I was done with the movie. I thought maybe I was just overrating or something,"
"Even if you were overreacting, I still would have been there," He thinks for a moment. "Do you know how much longer till you're done filming?"
"Um, like 2 weeks, maybe." Y/n answers. "I'll be fine, okay? I promise to call you if anything happens."
"Please do," Rob takes a break, "you really scared these past few days."
"I'm sorry about that- about not responding. I haven't been on my phone in days, I promise I wasn't purposefully ignoring you." She explains, looking down and playing with her shirt with her unoccupied hand.
"It's alright, I'm just glad you're not dead." He slightly jokes, lightening the mood. A huff of a laugh escaped Y/n as she fell silent.
"It's going to be so embarrassing watching that scene, they said it was perfect for the movie." Y/n sighs.
"Aw, love, it's okay." Rob says, frowning that he can't hold her and calm her down. "Listen, you have nothing to be embarrassed about, okay? I would never judge you."
"Yeah, you're right." Y/n nods. Robert then changed the subject, talking to her about the exciting things he planned to do for when she comes back.
~~~~
After the movie was completely finished, it was time for the red carpet premiere. Y/n still had a few hiccups while finishing filming, but she reached out for help whenever she could. She was now being interviewed by people on the red carpet, standing next to Robert. They were connected hand-in-hand as Y/n answered the questions about her movie.
After she took pictures with fans and was interviewed more, Y/n took her seat next to Rob, getting ready to see the film. Y/n was already worried about the movie, hoping that everyone likes it, that no one thought she was a bad actor. Along with that fear, she was afraid about the one particular bathroom scene.
Robert looked over as Y/n adjusted in her seat anxiously, placing a hand on hers, making her look at him. He sent her a smile, making her take a deep breath and smile back. The movie started playing, making Y/n cringe at first when she saw her face. She was just recently starting to get used to seeing her face on the big screen.
As the movie went on, Rob held his hand in hers, squeezing her hand whenever she looked away from the screen for a second. The screen switched scenes, it was now the bathroom part. Y/n pinched her lips with her teeth, eyes glued to the screen.
She watched as her character, who looked like a mess, close the door behind her, sliding down and crying. "I can't do this.. I can't do this.. I can't do this!" Echoed through the theater.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Robert lean down to her ear. "You're so beautiful." He whispers, turning back to the screen. This caused Y/n to look at him, confused and blushing. She thought about how she was having a break down, she looked a mess, she was hysterically crying, and all he could think about was how she looked beautiful. She smiles at the thought, looking back at the screen.
When the movie was finished, the theater was filled with applause, causing Y/n to break out in a smile. As people exited the theater, they stopped by Y/n to congratulate her on how good the movie was. A smile never left her face.
Once Y/n and Robert got into the back of a limo, Robert turned to hug her. He was so proud of her. Although he rarely tears up in movies, he had shed a tear or two. He praised you for your acting, he never brought up anything about the breakdown she had.
The End
*Not Pre-Read Yet*
A/n: Obviously I'm not an actor, but if I was, I would literally hate watching myself on screen.. But anyway, I hope you guys liked this! I don't really, but idk..

Teenage Sweethearts || Bruce Wayne x fem!Reader (Battinson)
Summary: Bruce Wayne and Y/n meet in the diner that Y/n works at. The 2 teenagers live 2 very different lives, and that's what makes them come together.
Words: 904
All My Stories
A/n: Just know I am making a few things up in this story, like the school Y/n goes to (I'm saying Gotham public high school bc idk what else..), and some other things so im sorry lolll. Also, Young Bruce is more open than older Bruce is in this story so yeahhh lol
Y/n watches as an older man and a boy around her age get seated at an empty table. They were both dressed nicer than most customers are, they looked very clean and put together. Y/n tried recognizing the young boy, trying to remember if he goes to her school. She then puts 2 and 2 together, he's wearing clean, nice clothes, so he definitely does not go to her public high school.
Y/n grabs a plate of food that was ready to be put on table 05, walking over and placing it down for the customers. She smiles, telling them to enjoy their food, then walks away to the teenage boy's table.
She smiles, watching as they both look up from their Menu's to the approaching girl. The older man smiles, as the younger boy looks up with no emotion on his face. "Hello! My name is Y/n, may I start you 2 off with any drinks?" Y/n says in a sweet voice.
"Yes, may I have a coffee, please? No sugar." The older man kindly says. Y/n nods with a smile, not bothering to write down the drinks on her notepad, she could remember this simple order. She looks over at the teen boy, noticing him wearing a school uniform. She was correct, he didn't go to her public school, he went to Gotham Academy.
"Um, may I have a water please?" The boy says, quietly, short from shy.
"Of course! I'll be right out with those." Y/n smiles and walks off to behind the counters, preparing their drinks.
"She's a lovely girl, do you know her from school?" Alfred looks at Bruce, who finally took his eyes off the girl walking away.
"No," Bruce says, looking back at the menu in front of him.
"She seems very sweet, maybe you should befriend her." Alfred advises.
Ever since Bruce's parents died, 8 years ago, Alfred has been trying to get Bruce to live his teenage life to the fullest. It's hard for Bruce to live a normal teenage life because of his parents death and because he's very rich. No kid at his school wanted to befriend him because of that fact, they all assumed he was a snobby stuck up kid. Bruce didn't mind the lack of attention, though, he preferred it, he liked when people didn't know who he was.
"Maybe." Bruce says in a way that made it sound like he wasn't interested, but he was.
"What was her name.." Alfred tries remembering, saying names that sounded like her name, but weren't.
"Y/n." Bruce mutters in response.
A minute or 2 went by and Y/n came back with their drinks. She places the coffee in front of the older man, and the water in front of the younger man. She smiles once more before saying, "Are you guys ready to order?"
After Bruce and Alfred were all done eating, Y/n came out with the check. When she came back to grab the folder with the older mans card in it, she saw the amount the man tipped. Her eyes widened, she was unsure if this was a mistake. Their food was $24.56, and the tip was $50. She walks back to the table, still suprised.
"I'm so sorry to bother, but did you mean to put this much?" Y/n asks, showing the older man the tip. The man smile and nodded, making Y/n tilt her head in confusion, but she had a smile still on her face. "I can't accept that, sir." She said kindly, refusing that amount.
"No, no, please!" The older man laughed, kindly.
"Are you 100% sure?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh my god, thank you!" The teen girl says, letting a bit of her excitement show, but contains most of it because she's still at work. Most people that come to the diner always tip $5 or less, even with big order, so this was huge for her. Bruce looks at her, cracking a smile. "Okay, well I'll be right back again."
Y/n walks away, going to finishing their payment. "She really is a lovely young woman, are you sure you're not interested?" Alfred asks.
"I never said I wasn't interested," Bruce replied.
"So then talk to her." Alfred encourages.
"Maybe another time." Bruce thought it would be weird talking to someone his age with his Butler right across from him.
Y/n comes back with Alfred's card, she places it on the table, smiling at both boys. "You guys are all set! Have a good night!"
"Thank you, you too!" Alfred says as he grabs his card and gets up from his seat. Y/n walks back to the kitchen, and waits for more customers to come in. She watches from a window in the kitchen as the boy and man leave. The younger boy turns around towards the window and makes eye contact with the girl once more, catching her off guard. Her breath hitches in surprise, and she looks down at the counter with a slight blush on her cheeks.
~~~~
A week goes by since Y/n served the older man and the mysterious teenage boy. Every time the door to the restaurant opened, Y/n would look to it to see if it was the boy walking in. She couldn't lie to herself, she did think his mysterious quality was intriguing, and she did think he was good looking.
Bruce wanted to go back to that restaurant and talk to Y/n, but he never built up the courage to. He was afraid to make things weird or make it look like he was only going there to see her, even though that was the truth.
As each day went by, Y/n slowly stopped expecting the boy to show up. It was now Thursday, Y/n had a rough day at school, and now was having a rough time at work. Some creepy men were hitting on her, obviously drunk, and she couldn't take it anymore. She told one of her co-workers that she was going on break and she walked out through the back of the building.
She was now in a back alleyway, which is usually used for workers that smoke on their break. She sighs, walking back and fourth in the alleyway as her tears build up. Once tears were falling from her eyes, she sat down on the dirty ground, closer to the entrance of the alleyway. Silent sobs came from her as she had her hands around her eyes.
She sat their for a few minutes, letting her frustration come out in tears. Then she heard light footsteps walking towards her, making her lift her head up. She was afraid it was one of those drunk men who were hitting on her, but when she saw the figure, she calmed down.
Watching the figure walk up to her, she recognizes that its a teenage boy by his body. Her eyes were too teary to identify the face. She looks up at him as he stops walking in front of her. He stares down at her for a second before asking, "Are you okay?"
Before she could answer his question, her eyes become more clear, "Hey, I recognize you." Bruce stands there, worried that she figured out that he was 'that rich boy who's parents died', but to his surprise, she says smiling through tears, "You're that one kid, your dad tipped me $50."
"He's not my dad, but yeah." He huffs a laugh.
Suddenly becoming aware of her appearance, she says, "Oh my god, I probably look like a mess right now, I'm so sorry."
She wipes her eyes as he says, "You don't," he pauses, watching her, "how come you've been crying?"
"I've had a rough day at school, and customers can sometimes be such... assholes." She laughs, watching the boy sit on the dirty floor next to her. "Oh, you don't have to sit on this gross floor for me."
"It's fine, I don't mind." He says, turning his head to her. His back to the building wall, his knees propped up and his hands rested on top of his knees. "So what happened with the customers?"
"Just these 2 drunk guys, they were flirting with me as if I'm not obviously a teen." She looks away from the boy, down at her lap.
"Oh, I'm sorry that happened." Bruce replies with slight pity in his voice, he wasn't sure what else to say. He was slightly mad for her, upset that that is something she has to go through. "Like you said, they're just assholes."
Cracking a smile and looking back at the boy, she smiles, "Yeah." She then fully smiled as he smiled at her.
"What school do you go to, I haven't seen you around mine." Bruce says, changing the subject.
"Gotham Public High School." She answers, pausing for a moment. "You go to Gotham Academy, right?"
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"You were wearing your uniform that time you came in." She then slightly blushes, realizing her mistake. "Oh my gosh, that sounds creepy that I remembered, sorry."
"No it's okay." He laughs, still looking at her. "So how old are you?"
"16, you?"
"Same." He says, glad that they are the same age.
A comfortable silence rested between them before Y/n asked, "So how'd you find me here?"
"Well," He pauses for a moment trying to get a story straight. "I was about to go into the diner to get something to eat, but I just happened to look into the alleyway and see you crying." The truth was that he was going to go into the diner, but he left out the part where it was to see her.
"Was I that loud?" She jokes, looking at the boy.
"No," he chuckles before pausing, "so you don't know who I am?"
Y/n tilts her head in confusion, scrunching her face a bit in confusion. "What do you mean?" She then realized she never learned his name.
"Like you don't recognize me from anywhere other than our one interaction?" He was just as confused as she was. His families story was pretty big, everyone and their mothers new about it, even outside of Gotham.
"No, what's your name?"
"Bruce." Y/n thought about that name, trying to think of a Bruce she knew. When she couldn't think of anyone she knew with that name, she then figured it out. He went to an academy, the man he was with tipped her a lot of money meaning they were rich, and she couldn't think of anyone other than a Wayne with the name Bruce.
"Wayne?" She asked in a bit of shock, but she tried masking it. He nods.
"You're telling me you didn't recognize me this whole time?" Bruce asks, still a bit shocked. She shook her head, making Bruce smile. He was glad someone didn't recognize but was still interested in talking to him.
"Wow, I had no clue." She says, resting her head against the wall behind her.
"Promise you wont think of me differently?" Bruce says in a joking voice and a smile, but meant it seriously.
"Of course." She looks at him again, smiling. "I knew you were a bit mysterious." She jokingly said, nudging him with her shoulder. He laughs, still looking at her.
Something about her not recognizing him made him more attracted to her, it was like he could take a step out of grieving Bruce Wayne, and step into a new person.
"Shit," Y/n says, breaking the silence, "I have to get back to work." She says standing up, brushing herself off and giving Bruce a hand. "You said you were headed into the diner?"
"Yeah." He nods, taking her hand and helping himself up.
"Okay, I'll see you in there!" She smiles, walking through the back entrance as he watched her leave. He smiles, glad that he decided to come to the diner that night.
After Bruce came into the diner and sat down, they had conversations as she worked. It wasn't that busy that day, so she was able to sit with him for a little while. Bruce was happy that Y/n never brought up his parents or his wealth, they mostly talked about things each other liked.
By the time It was closing time, Bruce waited until she closed up and offered to walk her home. Of course, she accepted. At the end of their walk, they exchanged home phone numbers. They said their goodbyes, then Bruce walked home with a smile on his face, thinking about the whole afternoon he just had.
~~~~
Over the weeks, Bruce would show up more and more to the diner. Y/n would sit with him during her breaks or in between dealing with customers. They would talk about random stuff, sometimes about Y/n and her family, and once Bruce felt comfortable enough, he opened up about his parents.
The End

Tired || Bruce Wayne x fem!Reader (Battinson)
Summary: Y/n has been supportive of her husband's secret life, but she is exhausted. A year after their separation, they are reunited at Don Mitchell's funeral. The beginning of the story is before the movie, and ofc the mayor's funeral is an event in the movie. The mayors funeral scene isn't exactly like how it was in the movie, but somewhat close.
Words: 2,426
All My Stories
A/n: Hey guys! I haven't posted in a while, I'm so sorry!! I've decided to start doing batman stories, but I'm still doing Cedric ones too! Requests are open! I also wanted to add I have a lot of drafts, so I haven't posted in a while, but I have some stories in the process!
Y/n listens as her husband, Bruce Wayne, shuffles off their bed, onto his feet. She hears his feet against the hardwood floor echoing the dead silent room. She hates it, him waking up in the middle of the night to be Batman.
Ever since he started being Batman, he's been distant. He slowly stopped touching her over the years. He's always be in a different room, on a different end of the couch, different end of the bed.
At first, she excused it as him being tired from saving the city. She would curse herself for being selfish, why should she be complaining when he is saving human beings, bringing good to Gotham? Then she got tired of making herself feel bad.
Y/n tried having conversations with Bruce about his sleep schedule, how much he eats, how much time he spends worrying about being Batman. These conversations always ended in arguments or Bruce not responding to whatever his wife said because he was too busy working on his suit.
Alfred of course noticed Bruce's distance from his wife. He would try talking to Bruce about his worry for Y/n, saying she is lonely during the day without her husband. Bruce would always brush off what Alfred said, worried about 'more important' things to him.
It's not like Y/n was a lonely house wife, she was an actress who was on break. Before she met Bruce, she was in big movies, making just enough money to start a family. When she met Bruce, of course her popularity spiked more. A big actress and a billionaire getting married was big news in the press.
She was now on break from her job because everything became too much for her. Her depression grew from lack of love from her husband. She put herself in therapy, which made her realize she wasn't being selfish. She of course didn't tell her therapist about her husband being batman, covering it up as his new job.
Now, she was listening to her husbands feet taping against their hardwood floor. She let out a breath, listening to him step into the elevator that leads to the 'batcave'. She made up her mind, she didn't want to be trapped in her life, in this mansion.
Half an hour later, she got up, walking over the the same elevator and going down.
"Bruce, we have to talk." She said, stepping out of the elevator, walking over to her husband. She had a calmness in her voice. She heard no answer. As soon as she was behind him, she stopped walking. He was working on something on his desk, she didn't care enough to know what he was working on. "Bruce."
After a hum of a response came from her husband, she hesitated with what she was about to say. This scenario seemed much more easier in her head, the countless times she replayed it in her mind. But once she saw him, it was a lot harder than she was expecting.
"I want a divorce." She plainly said. She watched as her husbands head moved, but didn't turn to look at her. "I've been thinking about it a lot-"
"Are you serious?" He said, fully turning his head around to look at his wife. His voice sounded more angry then upset.
"I've been thinking about it a lot," She repeated, ignoring his question. "and I can't do this anymore."
"Do what?" He angrily asked.
"Be ignored!" She shouted, feeling her eyes swell up. She hated that he didn't already know what he's been doing. A clenched jaw was all she got in response. "Bruce," She started. "you haven't touched me in so long."
"I've been busy, you know that."
"You know you're just saying that as an excuse." Hearing this made Bruce turn his body fully to the vulnerable, standing girl. "God, Bruce! I don't even recognize you anymore!"
He shakes his head, scoffing. He moved his eyes everywhere but his wife, his breathing heavy with anger. A ding was heard on his computer, indicating Batman was needed.
"Are you going to get that?" Y/n said, making Bruce's eyes lay on her.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"I mean, if you don't be Batman for one night, and you take me back upstairs and show me you love me, I'll take back everything I said about divorce." It was true, one kiss from him would change her mind, she was so desperate for affection and she hated it. She prayed in the back of her mind for him to get up, swoop her in his arms, and take her upstairs. But he stayed still.
He turned his head at the computer, taking a moment to decide. She watched as he got up from his chair, walking over to his suit of armor. Her heart ached. She angled her head to the ground, biting the inside of her lip and bringing her hand up to rub her philtrum. Tears stung her eyes as her throat burned.
She wanted to run to him, grab his face, kiss him. She also wanted to run to him, push him, yell curses at him, ruin all his batman equipment. But she knew better.
Beyond heartbroken, she made her way over to the elevator. She had a slight feeling of selfishness, making him choose between her and a job of a hero, but then she squashed that feeling almost immediately. It should have been obvious to pick his wife, he shouldn't have even had to think about it.
Once Y/n made it back upstairs, she started packing everything. Her clothes, shoes, anything she found that was hers. She couldn't stay there any longer, she couldn't look at Bruce any longer. She was a mess now, tears streaming down her cheeks as she hiccuped her breath.
It wasn't even close to morning, she had no idea where she would be going. Her family didn't live in Gotham, they lived on the other side of the country. She had actor friends that lived near, maybe she could try them. She thought of a girl, Nicole, she worked with that she grew very close with, hoping she could crash at her place for the night.
Y/n took out her phone, clicking on Nicole's contact, and pressing call. She listened to the phone ring while she kept packing her things. "Hello? Y/n?"
"Nicole!" Y/n said in a voice that anyone could tell she was upset. "Um- I'm so sorry for such a late call, I really could use your help right now."
"Of course! What's wrong, sweetie?" Nicole said over the phone. Y/n was younger that Nicole, Nicole was like a mother figure to her.
"I just need a place to stay, only for tonight. I will be out by the morning, I promise." Y/n closed her suitcase, zipped it up and sat on her and Bruce's bed. Her head was in her hands as she tried calming down her tears.
"You can stay for as long as you would like!" Nicole's voice calmed her down, giving her the strength to walk out of the mansion.
After Y/n made a plan to meet Nicole, she hung up and made her way to the kitchen with her bags. Her memory flashed to Alfred, it wasn't fair of her to leave Alfred without saying anything. She didn't want to wake him, so she decided on making a note for him.
She grabbed a note pad and a pen, writing Alfred, thank you for everything you've done for me, I love you so much. - Y/n. Tears stained the sheet of paper, she didn't want to leave Alfred, the man who took her in and loved her when Bruce wouldn't.
When Alfred saw the note, his blood boiled. He knew this was going to happen, but he hated that Bruce let her leave. Alfred immediately busted into Bruce's room, waking Bruce up. "What did you do?" He angrily shouted, holding up the note. "Why did you let her leave?"
Bruce sat up and stretched, waking himself up before he took the note in his hand. He read it, heart beating harder. He thought Y/n just went to sleep in one of their guest bedrooms, he didn't know how serious she was the night prior.
~~~~
Months after the divorce finalized, Y/n was feeling a lot better. She now owned her own house, had a new big movie she was working on, and was happier. She of course never told anyone about Bruce Wayne's big secret, she still respected and loved him. There was no way she couldn't not love him.
Her mind would wonder off, thinking about what would have happened if he did actually pick her up, took her back up to their bedroom, loved her. She wonder if things would have changed, if he actually would have taken her seriously and been better for her. She then would bring herself back to reality, dealing with the harsh reality that that didn't actually happen, and it wasn't going to.
Y/n didn't see Bruce after that night, but she knew he was watching her. She knew what his gaze felt like, she would feel it when she walked on the street, even when she was in her home. Although she was mad at him for spying on her, a part of her loved him for looking after her, for missing her.
The media of course made a big deal about this separation. They created rumors and lies about why they split up, it was always something not even close to the truth. That Bruce cheated on her, that she was having a secret affair with her friend Nicole, or that they both were married as a publicity stunt. It was all stupid.
Whenever Y/n was asked about it in interviews, she would deny the rumors. "It was a 'right person wrong time' kind of thing, I still respect and love him very much." She would always say something of that sort to the public. It was true. She would never answer personal questions about Bruce. Mostly she was asked why he was so reserved for being so well known.
Every now and then, Y/n watched the news about what Batman did the night before. She hated that even after the divorce, he still was saving the city, but what was he supposed to do now? He now didn't have a wife to come home to, how else was he supposed to fill his time, how else was he supposed to take his anger out?
He hated himself for picking being Batman, he missed his wife so much. He ate less, slept less, breathed less. He always wanted to reach out, he wanted to hear her voice, smell her scent, feel her touch. He now knew this is how she felt when he was ignoring her. God, he hated himself.
He would watch over her, make sure she's safe. Make sure she's happy. He heard about her being in a big upcoming movie, he was glad she was living her life, even if it was without him.
When Don Mitchell was murdered, Bruce was invited to the funeral. Although he already knew more about the murder as Batman, he needed to be at the funeral just in case any information was released from anyone. It would be odd if Batman showed up to a funeral.
He dreaded going out. He barely went out in public as Bruce Wayne before the divorce, but now he avoided it even more.
Bruce drove his car through the crowd of people, following where ever he was told to go. Once he was there, he got out of the car and handed the keys to the valet and hands him some money. He hears the press screaming his name to come over to talk to them, but he of course didn't. He was there for one thing.
Bruce followed the other known people into the building, listening to any conversation he can. His eyes stayed on the ground, as if not looking at anyone would make it easier to hear. His eyes glanced up for a quick second, catching a glimpse of a girl whose back was turned to him.
He fully turned his attention to the girl, recognizing her. He stopped in his tracks, heart starting to ache. Y/n stood before him, talking to her friend who he recognized as Nicole. He watched as Nicole noticed him, nudging Y/n, bringing her attention to Bruce. It was the first time since the divorce that they made eye contact.
Y/n's eyebrows furrowed in a mix of surprise and longing. She gives Bruce a closed mouth smile, biting the inside of her lips. She looked behind Bruce, seeing that Mayor Reál was approaching him. Knowing that Bruce hates talking to people, Y/n walks over to Bruce, stopping right in front of him.
Bruce watches as Y/n walks to him, his heart racing, his arms longing for her, but he keeps them still. There was no expression on his face, but she could tell he missed her. Y/n watches as the new to be mayor notices her and walks away, leaving the 2 alone.
"Hello, Bruce." She sweetly says, smiling up at him.
Y/n spent 2 years in her marriage already feeling like they've been divorced, so it didn't take long for her to get herself back on her feet after the divorce. It wasn't hard to see him because of the heartbreak, it was hard to see his dark circles under his eyes, his prominent bones much sharper from lack of food.
"Hey, Y/n." His rough voice responded. He cleared his voice.
They started talking about how they've been since the divorce, Y/n could tell he changed a lot. He was more open to talking about his feelings with her, his eyes never left hers, his eyebrows pulled closer together and lowered as he listened to her talk.
"We should catch up more," Y/n starts, "not here, though." Bruce nods, hoping this meant good for their relationship. "Still have my number?"
"Of course," Bruce gave a ghost of a smile.
"It was nice seeing you Bruce," Y/n places her hand on his arm. "talk later?" Bruce finally broke eye contact to look at Y/n's hand placement. He missed her so much.
He nods while saying, "It was nice seeing you too, Y/n."
Bruce was never mad at Y/n for the divorce, he was always only mad at himself. He never wanted to watch over Y/n while she lived her life, but he couldn't ever help it. He wanted to distance himself as far away from her as possible, but he needed to know she was okay.
When Y/n walked away, back to Nicole, Bruce reminded himself of why he was here. His eyes landed on Don Mitchell's son, the one that found his father dead. He noticed that Y/n was now talking to the widow, Mrs. Mitchell.
Bloody screams came from outside, a lot of commotion from the second story of the church. Bruce looked up and saw someone standing still, not being effected by all the movement and screams. Bruce knew something bad was about to happen, he looked back at Y/n and Mitchell's kid. Y/n was facing Bruce, standing in front of the kid.
Y/n rushed the kid and the mother away from the front of the church. She didn't know what was going on, but she wanted to help. She also didn't know where to go, so she just stood there, looking at Bruce confused and worried.
A car bursts through the church. Bruce runs and grabs Y/n, saving her from being crashed into. They rolled on the ground, stopping a few feet from where she once stood. Stunned by what was happening, Y/n stayed still laying on the ground.
Bruce got up, holding a hand out for her. She grabbed it, helping herself up. "You need to go," Bruce said, still holding onto the girls hand. Before Y/n could say anything in return, people were screaming at the person driving the car to get out.
Bruce and Y/n turn their attention to the car door opening and a man struggling to get out. Something was bolted around his neck, a bomb strapped to him. "Y/n, you need to leave." Bruce said again, this time a lot more serious. Y/n nodded, letting go of Bruce's hand and quickly exited the building.
~~~~
Y/n was safely at her home now, out of the funeral clothes, and was now laying down in her warm bath, rethinking the events that happened hours before. Everything confused her, but she knew it somehow was related to Batman. She then thought about Bruce Wayne.
She missed him, of course, praying he would reach out to her. She knew that it was unfair of her to break off their marriage but then expect him to come running back to her, but she knew he changed. She could tell by the way he spoke, the way he opened up to her, the way he looked at her.
As she thought about this, she heard her phone ping. She didn't think anything of it, ignoring it until she was out of the bath. As she wrapped herself in her towel, she picked up her phone.
Messages: Bruce Wayne Hey
Her eyes widened, heart skipping a beat. She reread the message, making sure she wasn't seeing things. She bit her lips, holding the phone, smiling. She opened her phone, clicking on the message to reply. "Hey" she wrote back. She wasn't sure what else to say, she thought for a moment.
After Bruce sent Y/n the text, he was praying to not mess up the second chance Y/n was giving him. He sat in his batcave, hovering over his phone, waiting for a reply. When his phone lit up, he immediately saw it. "Hey" It read. He picks up his phone, unlocking it and he starts typing, "You looked really beautiful today." But then he erased it, thinking it wasn't appropriate.
Seeing the 3 dots appear from Bruce's profile got her excited, but when they disappeared, she was confused. She put her phone down, getting dressed into her pajamas. Once she came back to her phone, there was no new messages from Bruce. Sighing, she typed something.
"Thank you for saving me, I didn't get to say it earlier." Bruce cracked a smile at this text from Y/n. He was happy that even though he didn't respond, she still texted back. "It's no problem." He wrote back.
"Can we meet up sometime tomorrow, to catch up?" Y/n sent. Bruce immediately replied, "Yeah, 11 at my place?" Y/n smiled, replying with "Yeah, I'll see you then."
Smiling at his phone, Bruce gets up and exits the batcave, making his way to Alfred. Bruce informs him about Y/n coming over, making Alfred ecstatic. He then scolds Bruce about the importance of not messing this up, making Bruce roll his eyes in annoyance. "I know, I'm not going to mess this up."
~~~~
Y/n walks into the Wayne manor, smiling at the guards at the entrance that recognize her, nodding their heads at her as she passed. She turned a corner, seeing Bruce waiting for her at the entrance of the elevator. Smiling, Y/n walks to him. His smile grew at the sight of her, his eyes longing for her once again.
"Hey," She says as they both walk into the elevator.
"Hey," He said, his eyes never leaving her. As the elevator door closed and starting moving up, silence fell between them.
Unsure if the silence was awkward or not, Y/n said with a joking voice, "So, what was that about yesterday?"
"Hm?" Bruce says for a moment before responding with a sigh, "Oh, it's a really long story." He brings a hand up to rub his eyes, which looked very tired.
"So, you're still doing the Batman stuff?" Y/n asks, looking up at him.
Bruce nods, adding, "After our," he pauses for a moment, "uh, divorce, I didn't know what to do with myself." He looks at her, unsure if bringing up the divorce was still a touchy subject or not.
"Yeah," she says, nodding and scratching the back of her neck, "I wanted to talk to you about that- the divorce."
As Bruce nods once more as the elevator doors open. He was unsure how the conversation would go, what she wanted to talk about, but he prayed for a good result.
Bruce paused for a moment, almost holding his hand out for Y/n to grab so he could lead her to the table like they did when they first started dating, but he couldn't. He takes a step out of the elevator and leads Y/n to the table that Alfred set up. He pulls out a chair, allowing Y/n to sit in it, and when she does, he pushed it in for her.
She barely blushed at this action, reminding herself that she can't do that. She sent a smile at him, watching as he sat down in his own seat across from her.
"So, um," She starts, not knowing how to start the conversation. Her head was down, avoiding eye contact. "I just wanted to tell you why I did it, I know I just left and we never got to talk through it,"
"I understand why you left," Y/n looked up, listening to him. "I was a terrible husband, I hate that it took us splitting up for me to realize that." It was now Bruce's turn to avoid eye contact as he spoke, "I'm truly sorry, for everything I put you through. And I know, a sorry is not even close to enough to what you deserve." He was looking down, feeling her eyes on him.
She leans over the table, placing her hand on his, causing him to look at her. "I know you're sorry, and I am sorry too. I made you choose between something you love doing and me, that was unfair of me to do."
"No, but I should have chose you," he pauses for a moment, looking into her eyes, "I want to choose you." His hand that was beneath hers flips so that their hand was resting in his palm.
Y/n looks down at the movement of his hand, then back up at him, registering his words. "And we'll have to work on that."
"Are you saying-"
"Yeah, we'll work on it," She says nodding, "work on us."
Blind Date || Cedric Diggory x fem!Reader
Summary: Y/n's best friend, Angelina Johnson, wants Y/n to start dating. Angelina decides to set Y/n up with one of Fred Weasley's friends, Cedric Diggory. Angelina and Fred decide to go on a double date with the 2, but its more of a blind date.
Words: 1,470
All My Stories
"Can't you just tell me who it is!?" Y/n questions her best friend, Angelina Johnson.
"No, it's called a blind date for a reason!" Angelina responds as she hands Y/n an eyelash curler. The 2 friends were getting ready for their double date, Angelina with Fred Weasley, and Y/n with an unknown boy.
"So he goes to our school," Y/n says as looks in the mirror and curls her lashes, "can you tell me what house he's in?"
"No! You already know too much!"
"No! I promise I know nothing!" Y/n wines, trying to get her way. "This is making me too stressed out!"
"Don't worry! Me and Fred wouldn't set you up with a murderer!"
"It better not be someone like- Draco Malfoy! He's too young and too weird!"
"Ew! Of course not! Way too young!" Angelina laughs, watching Y/n through the reflection of the mirror.
"So he's in our year?" Y/n says as she picks up mascara and leans into the mirror to get a good view of her lashes.
Watching Y/n apply the masacra, Angelina says sarcastically, "No, it's some first year Fred is best friends with."
Y/n pauses, looking at her friend in the mirror with a serious face. "Say you're joking. I'm not ready to be arrested."
"Of course I'm kidding! Yes, he's in our year."
"It better not be George, I'm not into red heads."
"I mean I am buttt, no it's not George. I'm not telling you anything else. You just have to trust me, you'll like him."
"But will he like me though?"
"Y/n! Of course he will love you! Stop over thinking this! I wouldn't put you in a bad situation!" Angelina promises, "And how could he not like you, look at you! You look stunning!"
"As always." Y/n playfully rolls her eyes, putting the mascara down.
~~~~~~~~~~
Cedric and Fred were walking to the Three Broomsticks, talking about the upcoming date. "I hate not knowing who this girl is." Cedric says, feeling the nerves growing.
"Don't worry, I know you'll like her." Fred says, trying to calm his friend down.
"You said she's a Gryffindor?"
"Yeah, one of Angelina's friends." Hearing this made Cedric assume it was Y/n Y/l/n. If you were to have asked anyone in their year who Angelina's best friends was, Y/n would be the first to come to mind. Cedric didn't want to get his hopes up that it was Y/n, but he was looking forward to getting to know the girl more. Cedric has always found Y/n attractive, but he never got the chance to befriend her.
On the first day of first year, Y/n was the first person Cedric talked to. He was nervous, waiting in the line to know what house he was going to be placed in. Y/n was behind him, listening to the boy anxiously mumble to himself. "You'll be fine, trust me." Young Y/n says, putting her hand on the boys shoulder.
Cedric turned around, relaxing when he saw Y/n's face. They both smiled at each other, exchanging names. Once Cedric got sorted into Hufflepuff, he prayed Y/n would be sorted there too. When she was sorted into Gryffindor, they both looked at each other with sad smiles. When the school year started, they would smile at each other when they saw one another in the halls, but as the year went on, they slowly stopped.
As the years went on, they would always make eye contact in the halls, but it always lasted a second. When they both saw each other, it reminded them of the first day of first year. They both wondered what their lives would have been if they continued being friends, wishing they had.
Now, Cedric and Fred were about to enter the Three Broomsticks. Y/n and Angelina were sitting across from each other, Y/n facing the door. Every time Y/n heard the door open, her eyes shot to the door. Noticing her best friends nervous behavior, Angelina put her hand on Y/n's, making Y/n relax.
Hearing the door open once more, Y/n turns her attention to it. She sees Cedric enter the door. It's probably not him, I don't see Fred. Y/n thinks. She watches as Cedric turns around to someone who is also entering into the pub. She sees Cedric and Fred looking around the pub to spot the 2 girls.
"Angelina. You seriously got me a date with Cedric Diggory?!" Y/n whisper shouts, burying her face in her hands laughing.
"Girl, I know you want him! Every time you see him in the halls you get quiet for a few seconds. Now don't mess this up!" Angelina says, pulling at Y/n's arms so she would unbury her face. When Y/n looked up, she saw Fred spot her and point over to her. Cedric turned around to look at what Fred was pointing at, making eye contact with Y/n. He smiled at the girl, making Y/n naturally smile back.
Y/n looked back at her friend, who was smiling at Y/n. "Don't look at me, I'm already nervous enough!" Y/n whispers, keeping a smile on her face so it looked natural. Angelina laughs at the girl, making Y/n laugh back.
When the 2 boys arrived at the table, Fred sat next to his girlfriend, planting a kiss on her lips. Cedric sits next to Y/n, smiling once more at the girl as he greets her. "Hi, Y/n."
"Hey, Cedric." Y/n smiles back.
"You 2 already know each other?" Fred asks.
"Yeah." They both answer.
"We were friends in first year," Y/n explains to the couple.
"You remember that?" Cedric asks, turning his head to the girl.
"Of course I remember, you were the first person I talked to." Cedric nods his head, grinning at Y/n.
"We are such grate matchmakers." Fred says, looking at Angelina.
"Excuse you, this was all my idea, who's 'we'?" Angelina sassily asks, making everyone laugh.
As the date went on, Y/n and Cedric hit it off. They bonded over talking about school and all of their favorite things. When the double date was over, the 2 couples decided to walk apart to give each other alone time. Angelina and Fred walked behind Cedric and Y/n, watching their matchmaking work out.
"So you didn't know who you were going on a date with either?" Y/n asks with her arm wrapped around Cedric's.
"Fred is bad at giving hints. He gave me 2 and I guessed it was you right away." Cedric laughs, making Y/n chuckle.
"Were you disappointed?" Y/n asks in a joking way, but it was a serious question.
"No, not at all." Cedric looks down at Y/n, giving her a genuine smile.
"Good." There was a few moments of silence before Y/n admits, "I thought it was going to be awkward, or something. I mean we haven't talked since we were 11."
"Honestly, I was worried too."
"Good thing we were with Fred, he made a fool of himself before I did." Y/n says, laughing. Cedric laughs, thinking back to the moment that happened during the double date. Y/n made a joke about everyone's least favorite teacher, and Fred snorted his butter beer out of his nose.
"How much do you bet they are watching us?" Y/n says, referring to the couple behind them.
"I don't need to bet, I feel them looking." Cedric chuckles. Y/n and Cedric both turn their head around to look at the pair. No supersize, Fred and Angelina whip their head to look somewhere other then Y/n and Cedric. Y/n and Cedric both look at each other, busting out in laughter.
After more conversations about both of their lives, Cedric and Y/n arrived at the fat lady painting, which indicated their date officially ended here. "I had a lot of fun reconnecting with you again, Y/n. We should do this again." Cedric says, tucking a piece of hair behind Y/n's ear.
"Yeah, definitely." Y/n beams up at the boy. Cedric nods to Y/n, then walks away, past Angelina and Fred. He nods at the couple and walks back to the Hufflepuff common room.
Angelina runs up to Y/n, whisper shrieking in excitement. In response, Y/n does the same, holding Angelina's hands. "I did that!!" Angelina beams.
After that night, Cedric and Y/n would walk in the halls together, hand in hand. They went on many more dates together, growing closer and closer, eventually becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, thanks to Angelina.

Odd Behavior || Cedric Diggory x fem!Reader
Summary: Cedric Diggory is usually good with flirting with girls, but when it comes to Y/n, he's not very confident like usual. Cedric and Y/n are at the same party, but he's too nervous to do anything about approaching Y/n.
Words: 966
All My Stories
Cedric stands in the Hufflepuff Common room, surrounded by his friends. His friends are all laughing at something, but Cedric wasn't listening to anything his friends were saying. His focus was on a friend group that was standing across the room. The friend group included Y/n and her other friends. Y/n wasn't a Hufflepuff, but was still invited to the Hufflepuff party. The party was something random some people pulled together, it was supposed to be only Hufflepuffs, but people invited their friends from other houses.
One of Cedric's friends notice Cedric wasn't paying attention, so he nudged Cedric's arm to get his attention. Cedric turned his head to his friend, but kept his eyes on the girl he was staring at. "Hm?" Cedric hummed.
"Yo, what are you looking at?" His friend asked, trying to follow his gaze.
"Oh- nothing." Cedric says, looking away from Y/n and putting his eyes on his friend.
"No, not nothing, is it that group of girls back there?" His friend asks, trying to spot what girl Cedric was looking at.
"Uh, yeah." Cedric says as he looks back at Y/n. He sees Y/n's friend group burst out in laughter, he sees Y/n's beautiful smile. The corner of his lip slightly lift up seeing her happy.
"Is it that Gryffindor girl? Shoot whats her name.." Cedric's friend says, trying to remember her name.
"Y/n." Cedric responds.
"Ah, right, Y/n. Go talk to her, man."
Cedric looks at his friend with a confused look. He shakes his head at his friend and says, "No way."
"Why not? You've talked to girls before!" Cedric's friend says, trying to be loud enough over the loud Common Room.
"Yeah but-" Cedric pauses and looks over to Y/n. "not like Y/n."
"What are you saying, man? Go talk to her! It wouldn't hurt!" Cedric's friend says, looking over to the group of girls. "I didn't think I would live to see the day Cedric Diggory is scared to talk to a girl!" His friend laughs.
"I'm not scared! I'm just, I don't know." Cedric replies, looking over to his friend.
"What is so different about her and all the other girls you've talked to?"
"She like, intimidating but in a good way, you know?" Cedric embarrassingly admits.
"Man, how long have you been scared to talk to this girl?"
"Since like, 3rd year?"
"Cedric! You need to talk to her!" Cedric's friend says as the 2 boys look back over to Y/n's friend group. One of Y/n's friends look over to the 2 boys, seeing they are looking at Y/n, so she nudges her.
She whispers in Y/n's ear something, making Y/n turn her attention to the two boys staring. Cedric's friend looks back at Cedric as Cedric continues to look at the girl. Y/n furrows her eyebrows at Cedric, tilting her head slightly in confusion with a slight smirk. Cedric's face turns slightly red, he didn't know what to do. He smiles at the girl and raises his eyebrows at her.
Y/n smiles at the boy, then turns her attention back to her friends. Cedric's friend slaps Cedric's arm, making Cedric look back over at him. "Now you have to talk to her, man."
Cedric couldn't build up the courage to talk to her, he wasn't sure why. His friend was right, he usually was good with talking to girls. It's like all his experience of talking to girls has been thrown out the window and it's a fresh start now. It's true, he had his eye on Y/n since 3rd year, they've had classes together, but they've never interacted before.
"I feel like I just blew my shot." Cedric admits, embarrassed.
"No way! That was just the start, look her friends are telling her to go talk to you!" Cedric's friend says, looking at the group of girls once again. It was true, Y/n's friends were hyping Y/n up to talk to the boy, saying how it's obvious Cedric is interested in her.
"He's literally looking at you right now again!" One of Y/n's friends shout a little too loud. Cedric and his friend heard this and looked at each other and laughed.
"See?" Cedric's friend says proudly.
"Yeah yeah, I think I'm gonna go to bed or something, I need good sleep for the Quidditch game tomorrow." Cedric says as he starts walking over to the dorm area.
Once Y/n decides to talk to Cedric, she turns away from her friends and starts walking over to where Cedric and his friend were. When she sees Cedric's friend standing alone, she gives him a confused look. Cedric's friend laughs and point to Cedric, who is walking away. She nods her head and smiles at the friend, silently thanking him.
Y/n waits to call out to Cedric once they are alone. When they are in an empty hallway, Y/n says, "You were really going to leave without talking to me?"
Cedric hears Y/n's voice, making his heart flutter. He turns around and smiles at the girl, "My mistake."
"Correct." Y/n says as she stops walking in front of the boy. "You scared of me?" Y/n laughs and waits for the boys answer.
"Would it be bad if I said a little?" Cedric says with a smirk and raised eyebrows.
"I'm not scary, Diggory!" Y/n exclaims, nudging his arm with her fist. "Maybe you're just a scardy cat?"
"Could be," Cedric shrugs.
"Join me in the common room?" Y/n asks, holding her hand out for the boy. Cedric smiles at the girls boldness, happily accepting her hand and walking into the Common Room hand in hand.

All My Stories
A/n: Welcome to part 2! Thank you for liking the first part so much you came to the second! Enjoy yall! Btw there's a little bit of jealousy in this story :))))) it wouldn't be my story without a bit of angst/jealousy ;)
Y/n wakes up with her younger brother shaking her awake. She reaches up to push Aaron's face so he would stop shaking her. Once he did, she looks around the room to see it wasn't even that bright. "Ronnie, what time is it?" She whispers.
"Uh, I think 7." Aaron answers with an innocent smile. Y/n groans quietly and looks to see if Cedric was awake. He was still sleeping, in the same position he fell asleep in, facing Y/n. She adjusts her body to sit up and pats the bed next to her for Aaron to come up. As the boy climbs up, Y/n notices the stuffed bear wrapped in Cedric's arms.
Y/n huffs a laugh at the boy, then asks her younger brother, "Why did you wake me up so early?"
"Everyone was asleep and I wanted to play with you." Aaron answers, cuddling up to Y/n. Y/n sits back and puts her arm around her brother and wraps the covers around both of them. They both grew tired and fell back asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cedric wakes up, noticing the stuffed bear in his arms. He silently hoped Y/n didn't wake up and see him like that. Wondering if Y/n was up or not, Cedric looks over at your bed. He smiles at the sight of Y/n and her younger brother cuddling in his jumper.
Trying not to wake Y/n or her brother up, Cedric slides off his bed and slowly crept to the door. When he exits the room, he is met with Y/n's mother. "Good morning Cedric!"
"Good morning Mrs. Y/L/N!" He beams.
"Please, call me (your moms name)." Cedric smiles and nods. "I'm going to be making breakfast for everyone, how is pancakes and eggs?"
"That's fine," Cedric starts, "I could help if you'd like!"
"That would be lovely, thank you!" Mrs. Y/L/N gratefully accepts. Cedric follows Y/n's mother to the kitchen and grabs the ingredients for eggs as Y/n's mom starts making pancakes.
A few minutes later, Y/n opens her eyes to the smell of pancakes. She gently taps Aaron's shoulder and his eyes slowly open. "Do you smell that?" Y/n says, smiling at her brother.
"Pancakes!" Aaron and Y/n shot up and race out of the room for their favorite breakfast food. Aaron and Y/n stop running and climb onto the kitchen table chairs. Y/n smiles at the view of Cedric cracking an egg into a bowl.
"You look like a house wife." Y/n jokes, referring to the apron wrapped around Cedric.
Cedric turns around to look at the girl, not knowing how long she's been there. "Good, that's what I was going for." He says as he poses with his hands on his hips. "Like what you see?" He asks, trying to do a model face.
"Very much!" Y/n giggles.
"Hurry and make the eggs!" Aaron demands impatiently. Cedric smiles and raises his eyebrows at Y/n.
"Ronnie, don't say that!" Y/n playfully slaps her brothers arm.
"Yes sir." Cedric says as he makes a serious face and nods to Aaron.
~~~~~~~~~~
During the first week of camping, Y/n and Cedric grew close to each other. They played with their little siblings, had late night talks before they went to sleep, and went on walks together. Y/n would still wear Cedric's jumper to bed, and Cedric still had Aaron's stuffed bear on his bed.
It was now Sunday and it has exactly been a week since everyone got to the cabin. The parents decided to do something special today, go to a restaurant after eating Cedric’s dad and Y/s’s dad’s cooking for a week straight. This was very exciting for Cedric and Y/n, the night before they were both talking about how undercooked their food was.
Y/n changed from out of her pajamas to something presentable for the restaurant in the bathroom, while Cedric changed in the bedroom. Once she was done, Y/n called out, “Can i come out?” so she didn’t walk in on the boy.
"Yeah!" Cedric calls out. Y/n opens the door and walks over to her bed and sits down. When she looked at the boy she shared a room with, who had his bare back facing Y/n. Y/n studies the muscles on his back that she assumed were from Quidditch. Cedric scavenges through a drawer, "looking" for a shirt. Once he found it, he throws the shirt over his head, which makes Y/n look away, pretending she is playing with her bed sheets.
The boy turns around smirking, knowing Y/n was staring. He then exits the room, still smirking. Oh he so told me to come in so I would see him like that. Y/n thinks, rolling her eyes and getting up to follow the boy out of the room.
~~~~~~~~~~
After a 20 minute ride away from the cabin, the 2 families arrive at the restaurant. Entering the building, the big group is greeted by a teenage boy, who escorts the group to a big circle booth. He then hands everyone a menu and walks away.
Cedric noticed the waiter taking glances at Y/n, hoping it meant nothing. Y/n and Cedric sat next to each other, as always, and were talking about what sounded good on the menu.
The waiter comes back, asking "And what drinks can I get everyone?"
The 2 6 year olds order chocolate milk, and the parents order drinks with alcohol in it. Cedric ordered a water, and so did Y/n. When Y/n ordered, the waiter smiled at her and gave her a wink. Cedric notices Y/n's cheeks turn pink and the confused smile she gave back to the waiter.
When the waiter walked away, Cedric whispers, "Weirdo." Hearing this, Y/n looks at him and laughs. Cedric returns a confused look at the girl. She shakes her head, still laughing, and looks back at the menu.
"You're a child." Y/n says with a smile. He looks down, a little embarrassed.
After everyone ordered their food, and Cedric gave glares to the waiter whenever he looked at Y/n, their food arrived at their table and everyone dug into their food. While everyone was eating, Y/n was approached by the waiter. The parents and toddlers didn't notice him, but Cedric did.
"Excuse me, miss?" The waiter asks. Y/n turns around, wiping her mouth with her napkin and nodding her head. "Would you like to go out sometime?" Saying this, Cedric looks at Y/n, waiting for her response. The boy was obviously used to hitting on random girls at the restaurant because of the lack of nervousness in his words.
Y/n noticed this and said, "I'm okay, thank you." She smiles and turns back around.
"Are you sure? I mean, I could take you to somewhere way nicer then here."
"Yes, I'm sure." Y/n says, still not looking at him.
"Why not?"
"She said no, dude. Just leave." Cedric scoffs at the desperate boy.
"What are you, her boyfriend?"
"Yeah, and he'll kill you." Y/n says seriously, but Cedric knows shes joking.
"Whatever man." The waiter finally says, turning around and walking away in defeat. Y/n and Cedric look at each other and laugh at the scene that just played out.
On the car ride home, Y/n replays Cedric defending her, which made her smile. She thinks about how close they have gotten in a week, and how she wishes she knew him her whole life.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cedric was in the bathroom brushing his teeth, as Y/n sat in her bed, pulling Cedric's jumper over her head. Y/n rubs her eyes as she pulls her covers over her legs. She looks over and Cedric's bed, still seeing the stuffed bear. She laughs at the fact that Aaron hasn't noticed his bear is missing.
Cedric walks out of the bathroom to his bed, looking at Y/n in his jumper. He smiles and lays down on his bed, throwing the covers on top of him. Y/n reaches out to the lamp next to her bed and turns it off, making the room go dark. If it weren't for the moonlight coming out of the window that is in between the 2 beds, the 2 teens wouldn't be able to see each other.
Y/n lays down, facing the ceiling. "So why'd you say no?" Cedric asks, making the girl turn her head and scrunch her face in confusion. "To that boy, the waiter."
"He seemed like a player," Y/n responds. "and he wasn't my type." Cedric nods at this, thinking about the way the waiter looked. Y/n silently huffs a laugh at Cedric's interest in the situation. She then turns her body to face the wall, saying, "Good night Cedric."
"Good night, Y/n."
~~~~~~~~~~~
After another week of hang out and having deep conversations with Cedric, Y/n grew feelings for the boy. He always listened to her when she talked about family problems, or when she complained about how cold she always was. He always tried to fix her problem by offering advise, or offering to take her mind off of whatever she was thinking of.
Cedric loved when Y/n talked to him, even if it was just about stupid things. He was glad to take walks with her and both their younger brothers. He loved seeing Y/n and Leo getting along, he loved the way she was so good with kids. Naturally, Cedric grew feeling for Y/n. He didn't want to scare her off though, so he waited for the right moment to make his move.
Y/n and Cedric were on the couch, waiting for the TV to play the movie they chose. The parents were on the porch and their younger brothers were in bed. Y/n was sitting under the only blanket in the room when she noticed Cedric shiver. "Are you cold?" She asks, turning her attention to the boy.
"A little," Cedric smiles. Y/n smiles back and scoots closer to him, tossing the other half of the blanket on Cedric. "Thanks." He grins. The 2 turn their attention to the movie that starts playing. About 10 minutes into the movie Cedric speaks up and says, "Hey Y/n, would you ever wanna do something, like, just me and you?"
Y/n turns her head to Cedric, saying, "We are doing something, just me and you?" She didn't say it like she was rejecting him, but more fake oblivious.
"I mean like, you know," Cedric started to get flustered, not being able to get the words out.
"Like a date?" Y/n finishes his sentence. Cedric nervously nods. "Yeah, I would love to." Cedric smiles in relief, looking back at the TV.
Later on in the movie, the 2 secretly inched closer to each other. Cedric stretched his arm on top of the couch, almost around Y/n's shoulders. He then felt a head hit his shoulder, he looked down and saw Y/n's eyes closed and she was silently snoring. He grins and puts his arm fully around her shoulders as his heartbeat increases. He then starts feeling tired, putting his head on top of Y/n's and dosing off, not caring about the rest of the movie.
An hour later, Y/n's mom and Cedric's mom come inside from the porch. Cedric's mom looks over at the couch, seeing her son and her best friend's daughter cuddling. She silently calls Y/n's mom to come over and they both stare at the 2 in awe. "I knew this was going to happen!!" Y/n's mom squeals quietly. The 2 best friends decide to leave them alone, turning off the TV and walking away.
~~~~~~~~~
Y/n opens her eyes, feeling her arm being shook by a tiny hand. She suddenly gets aware of the arm wrapped around her shoulders, and how her head was on rested on something. She looks up at Cedric, realizing her head was on his shoulder, then she looks down at whatever woke her up.
"Y/n.." Leo says with a sad face, "I tried getting a cup for water.. and" his eyes start watering as he hiccups the rest of his sentence, "and I fell off the counter and broke the cup."
"Oh, Leo! Are you okay?" Y/n whispers, lifting her head away from Cedric's shoulder and gently moving from his grasp. She gets up and follows Leo to the kitchen and sees glass that shattered everywhere. She notices how it's still dark out so she looks at the clock and it reads "6:37".
Y/n then bends down to look at Leo and she whispers, "We can get this cleaned up before our parents see, lets get you cleaned up first." Leo grabs Y/n's hand as they both tip-toe past Cedric sleeping, into Y/n's room and into the bathroom. She picks Cedric's brother up and places him on the sink counter.
Y/n looks at Leo's scraped knee that was slowly turning red and purple. She frowns at the sight as she looks for band aids in a cupboard. "Please don't tell mommy and daddy." Leo cries as Y/n cleans the wound.
"I wont, I promise." Y/n promises.
Cedric wakes up, seeing the spot next to him empty. His heart skips a beat, thinking the worst. Did she wake up and think us cuddling was weird? He gets up, walking into his room and he looks over to Y/n's empty bed. He then notices the bathroom light peering from under the cracked door.
He hears his brother's voice saying something about not telling his parents about something. Cedric walks over to the door and gently pushes it open more, seeing what was going on. "What happened?" He asked as he saw his younger brothers scraped knee.
Leo's eyes widen and start crying even more. Y/n turns around smiling, seeing Cedric's confused face. She explains what happened to the boy while she places a band aid on Leo's knee. Cedric nods at the explanation, mesmerized by Y/n taking care of his younger brother.
Once she was done, Cedric starts cleaning up the broken glass as Y/n put Leo back to bed. Then, she enters the kitchen and starts cleaning up with Cedric. While she was grabbing the trashcan, she was wondering if Cedric was thinking about the way she fell asleep on him last night. She felt bad if she made it awkward, or weird.
Cedric was thinking about it, but not in a bad way of course. He was replaying the feeling in his heart when she put her head on his shoulder, savoring the feeling. He was thinking about how caring the girl was for taking care of his younger brother even though she didn't have to. He thought about the way she promised to not blame the mess on Leo.
Y/n and Cedric were finishing cleaning in silence, hoping each other didn't think it was awkward. They both turn their head at footsteps, seeing who was walking in. It was Y/n's mom. "What happened?" She asks.
"I was trying to get a glass of water but I dropped the cup, I'm sorry mom." Y/n responds.
"Oh that's alright, Y/n. Thank you both for cleaning it up." Cedric and Y/n nod and stand up and walk out of the kitchen, into their bedroom.
"You didn't have to take the blame, Y/n." Cedric smiles as they both sit on Y/n's bed.
“I promised Leo I wouldn’t tell on him,” Y/n shrugs. She craws over to the top of her bed, sitting criss-cross so she is facing Cedric. Cedric has his back to the wall, his body facing the other side of the room, but his head facing Y/n.
There was a moment of silence, both teens staring at each other. They were both wanted to go back to bed, and they both secretly wanted to fall asleep in each others arms again. Afraid to say anything to make it weird, Y/n moves over a little bit and pats the empty space next to her.
Cedric was relieved that Y/n was thinking the same thing as him and he wasn't just being weird. Cedric moves himself next to Y/n, but laid his back on her pillow. He rested his arm on top of her pillow as Y/n laid back into his arm. Cedric adjusts his arm fully around Y/n's shoulder and pulls her in a little more.
Y/n's heart flutters thinking of how he wants to be close to her. She never cuddled with a boy before, let alone had a boyfriend, so there was a lingering awkwardness in her chest that she kept trying to push away. Y/n put her head and hand on the boys chest, hearing his heartbeat. "So what were you thinking about doing for our date?" She says trying to get the awkwardness out of her, but when she said the word date she cringed.
Cedric looked down at Y/n, trying to control his heartbeat. "I'm not sure the places around here, maybe we could get some ice cream or something tomorrow at noon?"
Y/n looked up at Cedric when she heard ice cream. Cedric knew it was her favorite treat and he knew the reaction that was going to come out of the girl. Cedric smiles at her happiness, as she puts her head back on his chest and smiles.
It's like there was Melatonin in the air when Y/n had her head on Cedric because not long after, she drifted off to sleep as she felt Cedric brushing his fingers through her hair.
~~~~~~~~~~
As Y/n woke up after her nap, she smells the scent of Cedric. She remembers the date at 12, which makes her panic to know what time it was. She wanted time to tell her mom about what happened, and she wanted time to get ready and look good for a date. Since she wasn't familiar with dress wear and makeup for dates, she needed her and Cedric's moms help.
Y/n tried slipping out of Cedric's grip without waking him, but she couldn't. The boy tightened his grip on Y/n as he felt her moving. He opened his eyes and sleepley asked, "Where are you going?"
"Do you want to sleep through our date or do you want me to actually look good for it?" Y/n jokes, laying her head back onto Cedric's chest.
"You look good like this though." Cedric says with his eyes half open. Y/n rolls her eyes as she feels her heart flutter, but she knew she had to get up. Once Cedric's eyes were fully open, he looked down at the girl who was looking up at him. He smiles and with his morning voice says, "Good morning."
"Good morning, Cedric."
Once Y/n was allowed to get up, she looked at the clock and saw it was 10:49. She looked for her mom, which she found in her mom and dad's bed room. Cedric's mom was also there, they were talking about random stuff like they always did. Y/n asked to talk to both of them, and when they agreed, Y/n closed the door and sat on the bed with the 2 moms.
The moms grew excited as the story of Cedric asking Y/n out went on, even though they already knew something was going on. Y/n finished her story and asked for help choosing an outfit and makeup to wear. The 2 moms happily agreed to helping out, and both went to get their make up bags.
When they both returned, they curled Y/n's lashes, put mascara on, put a little bit of blush on, and a little bit of lip gloss so it looked very natural. Next, Y/n's mom went into Y/n's room to find an outfit.
"I just knew you and Cedric were going to click! Call it a mothers intuition!" Cedric's mom beams as she brushes Y/n's hair. They were leaving it down, but Cedric's mom still wanted to brush it. "You know I always wanted a baby girl to do her make up. Maybe I can do it for you and Cedric's wedding day!" Hearing this, Y/n's eyes widened and face turned red.
"Oh don't scare her off," Y/n's mom says as she slips into the room, closing the door behind her. "she's not ready for a wedding, or at least I'm not."
"I'm definitely not." Y/n hides her face in her hands, embarrassed. Y/n's mom hands Y/n the clothes she picked out and Y/n walks over to the bathroom and changes.
Y/n walks out of the bathroom, happy with how she looks. The 2 moms clap in excitement, making Y/n blush in embarrassment but also smile.
"Before you leave, Y/n, I just want to say this now and not in front of Cedric. Do not do anything inappropriate or dangerous." Y/n's mom says.
"Mom! I know!" Y/n says, embarrassed.
"We know you know, but I was also going to say the same thing to Cedric. We just want to make sure. Also do not break my boys heart." Cedric's mom jokes.
"I wont I promise!" Y/n says, making her way to the door, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible.
Y/n heard Cedric's mom say, "She's going to be a heart breaker." as Y/n left the room.
When Y/n exited her parents room, she saw Cedric waiting on the couch for her. When Cedric turned his attention to the girl, his face softened. Even though he knew she was beautiful already, she was even more now. He stared at her without saying anything, making her blush. She wasn't sure what made Cedric have a reaction like this, it wasn't like she was in a dress or anything fancy. He looked hypnotized by her.
"Ready?" Y/n asks, reaching out for Cedric's hand to help him get up from the couch.
"Uh- yeah." He says, snapping him out of his state of trance and reaching for her hand. They intertwined their fingers as they made their way to the door, but Y/n was stopped by Leo pulling on her unoccupied hand.
"Where are you guys going?" Leo asks.
"Me and Cedric are going somewhere to eat." Y/n replied, not wanting to say anything about ice cream and give the hopes up of the child.
"May I come with?" Leo asks with puppy dog eyes.
"No, Leo, go play with Aaron." Cedric says to his younger brother. Leo was going to say something back and beg more, but he didn't feel like throwing a hissy fit, so he walked away. Cedric and Y/n laugh at his cooperation.
Cedric's dad allowed Cedric to use his car to travel, he also gave Cedric directions to an ice cream place not too far from the cabin. Cedric opened the passenger door for Y/n, and Y/n smiles and blushes at this, thanking him. She buckles up as Cedric walks around the car and gets into the drivers seat.
As Cedric starts the car he says, "You look really pretty, Y/n."
"Thank you, Cedric. You look really handsome." Y/n smiles as the 2 teens meet eyes and blush like idiots. They laugh at each other, but not in a rude way, but a "loving" way. Cedric also wasn't wearing anything fancy, but everything he wore looked very good on him.
"So you told my mom and your mom about our date?" Cedric asks as his eyes are focused on the road.
"Oh yeah, I've never been on a date before and I needed help. Did you not want them to know?" Y/n asks nervously, hoping she didn't doing anything wrong.
"No, of course I'd want them to know." Y/n's worries go away when Cedric says this. "You've never been on a date before?"
"Is that surprising?" Y/n asks.
"I mean yeah, who wouldn't want to take you on a date?"
"The whole school?"
"Well obviously not the whole school, because I do." Cedric says, putting his hand on Y/n's which was resting on her thigh. They both look at each other and grin. "You know I haven't ever been on a date before either?"
"Really?" Y/n says, very surprised.
"Yeah, I mean girls have asked me before to go on dates, but I wasn't ever interested."
"Oh, should I be honored to score a date with THE Cedric Diggory?"
"I mean yeah, I'm a pretty big deal and a very busy man."
"So does that mean when we go back to school I'm allowed to brag to all the girls about a date with you?"
"You might want to be careful who you say it to, some girls might fight you over me!" Cedric jokes while Y/n fake gasps.
"Oh no! Well then I better bag you before any other girl can!"
"I think you already have." Cedric says more seriously, intertwining his fingers with Y/n's. Y/n huffs a laugh, looking out the window to hide her blush.
Cedric pulls into the parking lot of the ice cream place, parks, then turns his car off. He unbuckles and tell's Y/n to not open her door as he gets out of the car and walks around it. He opens the passenger door and Y/n gets out of the car.
After Y/n and Cedric order and get their ice cream, they sit down in a booth and start talking about school.
"Summers going by so fast, but there's still so much time before school starts." Y/n says as she takes a lick of her ice cream.
"Don't forget me when school starts." Cedric jokes.
"I wont, you give me an excuse to go to more Quidditch games."
"Oh jeez, now I have to make sure I play good."
"Yeah, you might have to actually be good to impress me." Y/n says as she goes to lick her ice cream again, but because of the comment she just made, Cedric gets fake offended and pushes her hand filled of ice cream up in her face. Y/n widens her eyes and removes the cone of ice cream off her face and looks at Cedric with a mad face.
Cedric starts crying laughing, saying, "I can't take you serious with that mess on your face." Y/n just continues to stare at him with a serious and mad look on her face. Cedric continues to laugh at the sight of the girl with a straight face but ice cream all over it.
"I'm gonna kill you Diggory." Y/n finally cracks a smile, grabbing Cedric's hand filled of his ice cream cone and stuffing it on his cheek.
"Oh come on!" He laughs, looking at the girl snorting laughing.
"That's what you get!" Y/n defends herself.
"Okay, I'm sorry!" Cedric says, still laughing. He grabs napkins from the dispenser and starts wiping ice cream off his cheek. Y/n reaches out to get napkins from the dispenser, but Cedric moves it back, out of her reach. Him doing this earned him the serious and mad look once again.
Once Cedric was done getting off all the ice cream from him cheek, he grabbed napkins and starts wiping off the ice cream off Y/n's face. "Eww it's up your nose!" Cedric says with a disgusted voice.
Embarrassed, Y/n pulls back quickly and covers her nose. "Don't look up my nose! Are you serious! It's up my nose!?"
Cedric holds his forehead in his hands as he is chuckling at the girl. "No, I was just kidding."
"You're not funny!" Y/n says seriously, throwing one of the napkins that was used to wipe ice cream off Cedric's face at Cedric.
Once Cedric is finally done laughing, he takes another napkin and wipes the rest of ice cream off Y/n's face.
Once the 2 were back in the car and back on the road, Cedric says, "I'm sorry! Stop ignoring me!"
"Whatever.." Y/n hums. She was joking and trying to get a rise out of him, she didn't really care about the situation that much at all.
"I'm sorry! Do you forgive me?" Cedric says, placing his hand in Y/n's which was on her thigh again. Y/n looks down at the boy's hand on top of hers and she smiles at him. He takes his eyes off the road and looks over at Y/n. "Is that a yes?"
"Yes." Y/n says as she interlocks their fingers and wraps her unoccupied hand around his arm. She leans her head into his arm, making Cedric smile as he looks back at the road.
When Cedric and Y/n get out of the car, they watch a movie together cuddling on the couch. After the movie they played with their younger siblings, and then had dinner with the 2 families. When it was time for bed, Y/n changed into her pajamas and of course had Cedric's jumper on.
Cedric sat on his bed, waiting for Y/n to get out of the bathroom. When she does, he gets up and walks over to her. They stand in front of each other, less then 2 feet apart. Y/n, unsure what is happening, stands there, looking up at Cedric, waiting for him to say something. Cedric puts his hands on Y/n's waist, making Y/n's heart beat fast.
"I just wanted to tell you I had a really good time with you today." Cedric says, Y/n could tell he really meant it. He had a meaningful look in his eyes which made Y/n's knees weak.
"I had a really great time too, Cedric." Y/n says with the same meaningful look in her eyes. Cedric had that same hypnotized look he had earlier. He was lost in Y/n's eyes, her smile, and her perfect nose. Of course the 2 teenagers weren't in love yet, but if someone was watching this moment, they would say they were deeply in love.
Cedric removes one of his hands from Y/n's waist and places it on her cheek. Y/n knew what was about to happen, but she wasn't scared. She was too in the moment to think about how she has never done this before. As Cedric pulls Y/n close with his hand on her waist, he leans in. Y/n places both her hands on Cedric's cheeks as she leans in as well.
Y/n feels the hesitation from Cedric, it was as if he was asking if she wanted to. She closes the gap, feeling the passion in his lips. They move their mouths together, slowly, but synchronized. Both their hearts were beating like crazy. Y/n's knees weak while she feels Cedric's hand move from her waist to her lower back, pulling her in more.
They both reopen the gap, placing their foreheads on each others. They were breathing heavier than normal, and hearts still racing. Both still looking down at each others lips, and they both huff a laugh at nothing, they were just so happy.
Cedric removes his hands from Y/n's lower back and cheek, and he grabs Y/n's hands that were still on his cheeks. He pulls his forehead away from hers, and he tugs Y/n over to his bed. They both lay down together with a smile plastered on their faces. Just like how they cuddled before, Y/n's head was placed on Cedric's chest, and Cedric's arm was around Y/n's back, brushing her hair with his fingers.
Y/n notices Aaron's stuffed bear still on Cedric's bed. She leans over to grab it and she looks up at him. He looks down at Y/n then the bear, then back at Y/n. "So you're the bear lover now?" Y/n says with a smile still plastered on her face.
"I guess so." Cedric grins. Y/n leans up and places her hand on Cedric's cheek and places a lingering kiss on his lips.
"Good night, bear lover." She says once she pulls away.
"Good night, Y/n." He says, kissing her once more.
PART ONE PART TWO
Summary: Cedric and Y/n's parents are very close and they decide to go on a camping trip. Y/n and Cedric don't know each other in school, their paths never cross so they don't know they go to the same school. They have only met before on one of their parents get together's, but this get together will be very different. (Pretend cedric has a younger brother lolll).
Words: 2,754
All My Stories
A/n: Hey guys! So I just was on a small vacation, and im about to go on another one, but i wanna post something before I leave bc idk how well tumblr works on my phone, but I also wanted to make a longer story. So there is no promise of me posting all of it, it might have to be 2 parts so im so sorry loll.
Y/n finishes packing everything she needs for her camping trip. Toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes, hairbrush... Y/n thinks as she places the items in her bag, making sure she has everything she needs. A quiet knock on her door almost distracts her, but she finished her train of thought before she answered the door.
"I need help getting my bag." Y/n's little brother, Aaron, looks up at her with glossy eyes which indicated he was frustrated at something.
"Yeah of course Ronnie." Y/n says as she bends down and picks up her 6 year old brother. "Why so sad?"
"Mom said I can't bring more then 2 stuffed animals to the trip." He says with a trembling lip. "But I wanna bring 3." After he said that, tears broke loose from his eyes, making him stuff his head into Y/n's neck.
"Hey, don't worry about it." Y/n gives her brother a squeeze and he looks up at her. "Just put one in my bag, mom and dad don't have to know." She whispers to him and a huge smile is revealed on his red face and he hugs his sister. Y/n hugs and puts him down to get the stuffed animal he wanted.
Aaron runs back with a stuffed bear and places it on Y/n's bed. He then holds Y/n's hand as they walk to his room to get his bag from the top of his closet. Y/n reaches up on her tippy-toes and grabs it.
"Are you excited to see Leo?" Y/n asks as she turns around and places the bag on the toddlers bed. Leo is Cedric's 6 year old brother. Y/n always thought it was funny how her family and Diggory's family had kids at the same time, like it was planned.
"Yes! I can't wait for me, you, Cedric, and Leo to all play together!" Aaron smiles.
Y/n chuckles and says, "Don't get your hopes up, me and Cedric wont be able to play the whole time, 3 weeks is a while you know." Hearing this, Aaron frowns at the girl with begging eyes. "I can't speak for Cedric but I promise to play with you as much as I can!"
"You better!" He pouts, walking over to Y/n and holds her hand again. "Can we have ice cream before we leave?"
Y/n sighs and thinks for a moment. "Pinky promise you wont tell mom and dad?" She holds out her pinky with her unoccupied hand.
"Promise!" He says as he latches his finger with Y/n's.
~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n leans over and takes her thumb and wipes the chocolate ice cream in the corner of Aaron's mouth. She rolls her eyes playfully at her messy little brother, who almost got the 2 caught. The Y/L/N family was all in the car, heading to the camp ground.
Y/n's parents were talking to each other about the plans for what to make for food. Her dad said something about eggs, which made Y/n think of eating breakfast. She then went into deep thought about the upcoming trip.
She then thinks about the last time Y/n has saw Cedric, which was 5 years ago. She saw the Diggory family quite a lot, Leo and Aaron had a playdate the other week, but not Cedric. He was always too busy with other things to come visit the Y/L/N family.
She thinks about how young they both were, 11 and tiny. She thinks about how different she looked from now, and how it will be the same for Cedric.
Back when Y/n was 11, she thought Cedric was too cool for her until he approached and befriended her. They were at Y/n's house and were playing the whole time. They had the time of their life. By the time it was time for the Diggory's to leave, the 2 young kids were begging their parents to let them have a sleep over. When their parents said no, they said goodbye, not knowing they wouldn't see each other for another 5 years.
Y/n wondered if Cedric ever thought about that time. She hoped he did, Y/n always wished she could see Cedric again. In her first year of Hogwarts, her mind would wonder off in the middle of class, thinking about what he was doing. Little did she know they were both in Hogwarts, but they never saw each other and their parents never talked about it to them.
~~~~~~~~~~~
When the Y/L/N family arrives at the cabin, they notice the Diggory family wasn't there, so they decided to start unpacking the car. Y/n grabs both her and her brothers bags and walks into the cabin. She walks around, counting all the rooms and beds. 2 rooms for the parents, and 2 rooms which both had 2 beds for the kids.
Y/n places the bags on a table, unsure of where else to put them. As she does so, she hears a car turn into the cabin's rocky driveway. "Leo's here!" Aaron shouts, dashing to the front door. Nerves tingle Y/n's body as she waits for her old friend to reveal himself.
As Aaron opens the front door, the Diggory family stands right at the door with bags in their hands. Mr. and Mrs. Diggory's face light up as they see Aaron, who is holding the door open for them. The family walks into the cabin and says their hellos to everyone.
"Y/n! How have you been!" Mrs. Diggory says merrily and holds her arms out for a hug.
"I've been good! And yourself?" Y/n asks, returning her hug.
"I've been better, but I can't wait to spend the next 3 weeks with your family!" She responds, exiting the hug. "Cedric! Come say hi to Y/n! You guys haven't seen each other in forever!" Mrs. Diggory waves the boy over and Y/n gets a good look at him.
He is a lot different looking, his hair was longer, he was much taller, and much handsomer. Y/n wasn't afraid to admit that to herself, but certainly not to other people.
Cedric smiles and nods to the girl, saying, "Hey Y/n."
"Hey Cedric," Y/n returns the smile, "long time no see."
"Yeah, sorry about that, I've been super busy with school." Cedric laughs awkwardly as his mother walks away to say hi to the rest of Y/n's family, leaving the 2 alone.
Cedric looked into Y/n's eyes, taking in how much older she looks. More mature, tanner, and very pretty. Whenever his parents were talking about the Y/L/N family, he would always wonder how Y/n was doing. He felt bad for how much he couldn't see that family and he hoped they didn't think he was avoiding them.
"That's all right, I understand," Y/n gleams at the boy, "we have 3 weeks to catch up." Cedric lets out an airy laugh and nods as Y/n's parents come up to talk to Cedric.
As Cedric and Y/n's parents catch up about Cedric's life, Aaron and Leo run up to everyone. "Mom! Dad! Can me and Leo share a room!" Aaron says, interrupting whatever my Cedric was saying.
"As long as it's okay with Leo's parents." My mom says, fixing a hair on Aaron's head that was sticking up. She then looks to me and Cedric and says, "As long as it's okay with you guys to share a room too." Cedric and Y/n both look at each other and nodded in agreement.
"Yay!" The 2 young boys shout in union, running to one of the bedrooms.
Cedric finishes what he was saying before Aaron interrupted him, and Y/n grabbed Aaron and her bags and brought it to Ronnie's room. She then brings her bag to the other room and sets it on a random bed. She starts unpacking all her clothes, placing them in the empty drawer next to her bed. The 2 beds in the room were on opposite ends, both in corners. Y/n took the left bed, closest to a window.
Y/n finishes up unpacking as she hears the door open wider. She turns her head to the sound and sees Cedric walking into the shared room.
"Damn I wanted that bed." Cedric frowns playfully.
"Shoulda called dibs." Y/n says, shrugging her shoulders. Cedric snickers at the girl and walks over to the other bed. Y/n sits on her bed criss-crossed and watches as the boy starts unpacking his things. Y/n hears the voices of her and Cedric's moms entering the room, so she looks at them.
"Now kids," Mrs. Diggory starts as Cedric turns around and sits on his bed the same way Y/n is, "we know you kids are teenagers, but we are trusting you 2 to not do any-" She stops herself, not knowing a word to say.
"-'stuff'" Y/n's mom finishes. Y/n and Cedric share a look of disgust at their mothers.
"Momm." Y/n says shaking her head and looking away.
"I'm sorry Y/n, but as your mother I need to make sure I don't have a grandchild until I'm much older."
Y/n puts her elbows on her legs and buries her face in her hands. Cedric snorts at the situation, finding it funny how embarrassed Y/n is getting. Y/n hears his laugh and shoots her head at him. "This is not something to be laughing about!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Cedric laughs, putting his hands up in defense. Y/n rolls her eyes jokingly and laughs, looking at the 2 moms still standing at the door.
"They're so cute." Y/n and Cedric hears Cedric's mom whisper to Y/n's mom. After the 2 moms leave, Cedric and Y/n sit in silence for a few seconds. Cedric looks over at Y/n and sees something on her bed. He gets up and walks over to her, making Y/n look at him.
"Need a stuffed bear to sleep?" He asks, grabbing Aaron's bear and holding it up with a smirk. Y/n's face got flushed.
"No," Y/n gets up from her bed and reaches out for the stuffed bear, "it's Ronnies."
"Oh really? Then why was it in your bag?" He says, moving the bear out of reach.
"Because he could only bring 2 stuffed animals, but he wanted 3, so I packed one for him because I'm such a good sister." Y/n says, moving around to get the bear.
"That's a good fake story." Cedric teases. He knew it was true, but he found it funny annoying her about it.
"It's not fake! Ask Ron!" Y/n says defensively. She finally got a hold of the bear and Cedric let go, smirking.
"What ever you say, Bear lover!" Cedric walks away from the girl smiling into the room with the rest of the families. Y/n watches Cedric walk away and shakes her head, tossing the bear back on her bed and then following the boy into the kitchen.
~~~~~~~~~
As the first day was ending, the Y/L/N and Diggory family sat around a fire made by Y/n's dad. Aaron and Leo were running around playing games with each other, Y/n and Cedric laughed at the 2 boys tiring themselves out. Y/n and Cedric were sitting next to each other on a bench facing the fire, making small talk about their lives.
"I'm glad we are on this trip, I don't know what I would be doing this summer." Y/n says, thinking about how she would have been in her room all day.
"Me too," Cedric says as he turns his head to look at Y/n, "I would probably hang with the Weasley's and loose my mind."Y/n looks up at him and laughs, thinking about the crazy Weasley twins.
Aaron runs up to the Y/n and begs, "Can we play hide and seek pleeeeaassee?" Y/n and Cedric look at each other and share a "why not" look.
"Yeah sure, Ronnie. I'll start counting, you guys can hide." Y/n says, purposfully leaving Cedric with the 2 younger boys.
Cedric shakes his head at the girl, "How dare you leave me with them."
"Shoulda called dibs!" Y/n says, watching as Cedric gets dragged by the hands of Aaron and Leo. She covers her eyes with her hands and start counting quietly. "1.. 2.. 3...." Once she got to 30, she gets up and walks away from the fire, feeling the coldness of the night air.
Y/n walks around the semi-dark yard, approaching a set of trees. She spots a yellow shirt peeking from behind a tree, just like the shirt Cedric's little brother was wearing. "Hmm, I wonder where Leo is," She says as she peeks behind the tree.
Leo looks up at Y/n and says, "How did you find me!"
"Lucky guess?" Y/n says as she reaches out for his hand. "I don't want you getting lost in the woods." Leo nods and latches his hand in the girls hand. "Do you know where Ronnie is?" Leo smiles, pulling Y/n over to a tall tower of logs.
Before she could peek behind the logs, a tall figure jumps out at the girl saying, "Boo!"
"AH!" Y/n says quickly before covering her mouth. She looks up at the figure, identifying it as Cedric and slaps his arm. "Do not do that!" The boy laughs and places a hand on the girls shoulder.
"Don't be such a scardy cat." He says as the girl smiles and shoves his hand off her shoulder.
"Whatever." She responds. Aaron walks out behind the pile of logs laughing at his older sister, causing his hair to get ruffled by the older girl.
After more rounds of hide and seek, it was time to go inside and get ready for bed. The adults were putting their youngest children to bed, and Cedric and Y/n were getting ready for bed. Y/n was changing into her pajamas in the bathroom, and Cedric was changing in the bedroom.
Once Cedric was done changing, he walks over to Y/n's bed, picking up the stuffed bear. "I see you kept your brothers bear." He says loud enough for Y/n to hear.
"Oh, I guess I forgot to give it to Ronnie." Y/n calls out, rolling her eyes at the boy.
"Mhmm," Cedric says in a sarcastic tone, taking the stuffed bear over to his side of the room. He sits on his bed with the bear in hand and looks down at it. Y/n opens the bathroom door and looks over at Cedric.
"Oh so now you want the bear?" Y/n jokes as she walks over to her bed.
Cedric nods, "Yeah it's actually a pretty cool bear, I don't think I could sleep without it now." Y/n shakes her head and goes under the covers.
"It's so cold in here." Y/n says aloud, not talking to anyone in particular.
"Put on a jumper." Cedric says, looking at the girl.
"I didn't pack one, I didn't think I would need it." Cedric pauses, then gets up and grabs one of his jumpers. He then tosses it to the girl and she gratefully accepts it. Cedric watches from his bed as the girl puts his jumper on and then goes back under the covers.
Y/n's mom and Cedric's mom peek their heads into the room, which catches the attention of Cedric and Y/n. "Goodnight kids." They both say.
"Goodnight mom." Y/n and Cedric say in union. The 2 moms turn the light off and closes the door. Y/n looks up at the ceiling, thinking about the eventful day, still tired from the long drive.
Cedric looks over at Y/n as he recalls a memory from when they were younger. "Remember when we were running around in your basement and you knocked into your mom's vase?"
Y/n turns her head to the boy, smiling at the memory. She was somewhat surprised that he remembered that. "You remember that?"
"Of course I remember, you have a scar on your arm in the exact spot you hit the table." Y/n's face turns red from how observant he was of the girl. "Did you ever get caught?"
Y/n turns her body to face the boy, responding with, "I said the cat knocked it over, but I don't think my mom believed it."
A breathy laugh came from Cedric and he adjusts his body to face Y/n. "Why haven't I ever seen you at Hogwarts?" Y/n asked. "Were you avoiding me?"
"How could I ever avoid THE Y/n Y/l/n?!" He jokes.
"That's what I was wondering!"
"I'm not sure why you haven't seen me, I'm at Quidditch most the time. Have you gone to any Hufflepuff matches?"
"I've gone to a few Gryffindor ones. I think I went to the one where Hufflepuff beat Gryffindor."
"You're welcome for that win." Cedric winks at Y/n.
"Wait," Y/n thinks for a moment, "you were the one that caught the snitch!" Cedric laughs and nods his head. "Wow I never knew I was in the presence of the king of Quidditch!"
"You might need to get my autograph or people wont believe you've met me!" Y/n snickers and turns her body to face the ceiling. "So Ms. Y/n, why have I not seen you at Hogwarts?"
"I'm not sure, I'm usually outside of my room, hanging with my friends."
"Maybe I've seen you, but not recognized you. You look a lot different you know." Cedric said, emphasizing the word "lot".
"In a good way, I hope." Y/n laughs.
"Yes," Cedric pauses for a second, still facing the girl. "in a good way."
Y/n smiles and says, "You look different too, you don't have those big glasses you used to have."
"You did not need to bring that up."
"Too late." Y/n smiles and blinks tiredly. There was a moment of silence before Y/n said, "Goodnight Cedric."
"Goodnight, bear lover." Cedric says, even though he is still holding the stuffed bear in his hand.

A/n: Hey guys I need requests bc I have no idea of what to write... I have drafts of things I wrote but idk what I think about them and I don't feel like re-writing it yet, so I need requests lol, but no smut. This idea is so basic so idk if anyone has already done this so if someone has just lmk!
"You must be joking." Y/n says, looking at her boyfriend who just suggested that he would put his name into the Goblet of Fire. Cedric casually brought it up in conversation while walking to breakfast, catching Y/n off guard.
"I'm not, Y/n. I want to represent Hogwarts in the tournament." Cedric says, while holding Y/n's hand.
"Cedric, you're going to get hurt or killed. Please promise me you wont put your name in the fire." Y/n pleads to her boyfriend while giving him a concerned look.
Cedric sighs and says, "Okay, I wont put my name in, I promise." He squeezes her hand and smiles at her.
Y/n smiles back and is glad she doesn't have to worry about him dying. The couple arrives in the Great Hall and they both part ways, Cedric going to the Hufflepuff table and Y/n going to the Gryffindor table.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"I hope Fred asks me, I don't want to go alone." Y/n's friend, Angelina, says as they walk to their shared class, talking about the upcoming ball.
"He better, he would be missing the time of his life if he doesn't." Y/n replies, thinking about if Cedric will ask her or if it's just a given that they are going together since they are dating.
"You're lucky, you have a built in date. And you're even luckier since it is Cedric Diggory!!" Angelina squeals. Just like every girl at Hogwarts, Angelina knew Cedric was a very good looking guy, and she was so happy when Y/n told her about Cedric asking her out.
Y/n chuckles at her friend, replying with, "I hope he asks me and he doesn't just assumes we are going together. Just because we are dating, I still want to be asked."
"He doesn't seem like the person to just assume, Y/n."
"You're right, I'm just over thinking it." Y/n gets quiet for a second, debating weather or not to bring up Cedric wanting to enter his name into the Goblet of Fire. Before she could bring it up, the Weasley twins approach the 2 friends.
"Ladies," George nods to both girls. Angelina and Y/n smile at them and nod back.
"Hey George, Fred," Y/n starts, confused at the random approach, "What's up?"
"Well, Freddie boy has something to ask Angelina." George says, nudging his brother.
"Um, would you like to go to the ball with me?" Fred asks shyly, which is very unlike him. Y/n smiles and looks at her best friend, waiting for her response.
"Yeah, of course Fred!" Angelina bursts into a big smile, her cheeks growing red. Fred takes a sigh of relief and untenses himself.
"Thank Godric, that would have been embarrassing if you said no." Fred smiles, causing the 3 to laugh.
George turns to Y/n and asks, "Did you know if Cedric is chosen you and him have to dance in front of the whole school?"
Unsure of what George is referring to, she asks, "What are you talking about?"
"If Cedric is chosen for the Triwizard Tournament, at the ball you and him will do a dance." Fred replies.
"But he's not putting his name in the Goblet of Fire?" It wasn't a question, but Y/n was very confused. The 4 friends shared the same puzzled look, unsure of the situation.
"But he just..." George starts.
"did put his name in, right after we tried to." Fred finishes, laughing. "You didn't know?"
"He promised me he wouldn't put his name in." Y/n says in a quieter tone, her heart sinking thinking about his broken promise. Her eye brows furrowed, her head becoming a bit fuzzy.
"Oh, I'm sorry Y/n." George says, rubbing Y/n's shoulder with a pity face.
"Oh, that stupid git." Angelina says, getting upset for her friend.
"He's not a git, he's just," Y/n starts, bringing a hand to her face and rubbing her eye and letting out a sigh, "I don't know."
"I'm sorry Y/n," Fred says with a the same pity look George has, "but we have to go." Angelina and Fred share a smile at each other and the twins leave.
"What are you going to do, Y/n?" Angelina questions as the 2 friends continue walking.
"I honestly don't know," Y/n thinks for a second before continuing, "it's just that he broke his promise. I wish he said something before doing it, like to warn me or something."
Angelina locks arms with her best friend trying to comfort her, "I didn't see Cedric as the type to break promises."
"Me neither." Y/n says, putting her head on her friends shoulder as they walked.
~~~~~~~~~~
It was now the end of the day and Y/n hasn't seen Cedric since breakfast. She wasn't avoiding him, but she also didn't want to see him.
Y/n is in the middle of writing an essay for one of her classes in the library when Cedric approaches her. He pulls out the chair next to her and sits in it, waiting for her to address him. When Y/n doesn't say anything and shows no attention to him, he knits his eyebrows and says, "What are you writing?" It was a stupid question but he wanted to start conversation.
"An essay." Y/n responds in a plain tone, not looking up from her paper. This behavior confuses Cedric even more.
"Y/n, love, what's wrong?" The oblivious boy asks. Y/n looks at him, with a face that shows she was shocked and upset.
"'What's wrong?' Are you seriously asking me that?" Y/n hisses at him. The boy just sits there confused until it hits him.
"So you heard what I did?" He says, referring to him putting his name in the Goblet. Y/n nods, obviously annoyed. His heart sinks a bit. "I'm sorry, Y/n." He looks at her sincerely. Y/n huffs a sigh and shakes her head.
"Why didn't you talk to me before you did it? I would be a lot less upset if you didn't break your promise!"
"You're right, I'm sorry. I should have talked to you, I shouldn't have promised if I knew I was going to do it. I sent a letter to my dad and he seemed like he really liked the idea of me being a champion, and I guess I didn't want to disappoint him." Cedric grabs both Y/n's hands as he explains. "I'm so sorry Y/n, I just really want to do it."
Y/n takes in what he was saying and asks, "When were you going to tell me? Where you just going to let me hear your name from Dumbledore's mouth when he announces the champion?"
"I mean, I was going to tell you eventually. A lot of people from Hogwarts put their name in, so there is a low chance of me being picked." Cedric says, reassuring Y/n. Y/n looks at the boy and thinks about what he told her.
"I can't control you, and if you really want to do something I shouldn't keep you from doing it. I don't want you to get hurt in the tournament. Just next time please just talk to me before you do something like that."
"Yes, of course, thank you Y/n." Cedric says as he drops Y/n's hands and hugs her. She hugs back, silently praying he isn't picked.
~~~~~~~~~~
It was time to announce the champions from each school, and Y/n was sitting next to her best friend Angelina. The suspense was killing the pair, but mostly Y/n.
Once Dumbledore was about to announce the champion representing Hogwarts, Angelina grabbed Y/n's hand and gave it a squeeze. Y/n held her head in her hand and her leg was shaking under the table. Anyone that looked at her could obviously tell she was extremely nervous for the name Dumbledore was going to say.
The Goblet of fire spat out a paper that contained the name of the Hogwarts champion. Y/n took a breath, waiting for Dumbledore to hurry up and read the paper.
"The Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore announced and people started cheering and clapping. Y/n sighed, picking her head up from her hand and looked towards the Hufflepuff's table, looking for her boyfriend.
Cedric got up from his seat, smiling at the cheers of his schoolmates. He starts walking to the front of the Great Hall, looking for his girlfriend. Once Y/n saw her boyfriend, she tried hiding her disappointment with a smile. His heart dropped a little when he saw she was disappointed, but he smiled back at her.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Once Y/n and Cedric got alone time, Y/n hugs him and congratulates him on becoming a champion. Staying in the embrace, Cedric presses a kiss on her lips, Cedric responds with, "Thank you for being supportive, even though you don't want me to do this."
Y/n smiles and replies, "Just don't die please." Cedric laughs and plants a more passionate kiss on her lips.
"I love you, Y/n." These words cause Y/n's heart to flutter and her lips to form a big smile.
"I love you, Cedric."

A/n: Aww thank you so much! ofc!! Thank you for being my first requester!! If anything is wrong pls tell me bc I haven't watched the movies since 2020 haha I have just been reading fanfics lolll. Also, idk what Hogwarts would do if a students parent would die or something so this is probably wrong sorry haha
Just like every other morning, Cedric walks to the Great Hall to start his day with having breakfast with his girlfriend, Y/n. They have been dating for 2 months and everything was going great. Cedric took her on dates, Y/n helped him through the stress before and after the Triwizard Tournament, and they were always there for each other.
Y/n wasn't much to show when something was wrong, during her relationship there was never a time where she would pick fights or make anything about her. She was a very selfless person and that was one of the things Cedric loved about her.
Cedric sat down in his normal seat, next to an empty spot which usually has Y/n in it. Maybe she woke up a bit late, he told himself, not thinking anything of it. A few minutes went by and he assumed that she was in bed sick, so he grabbed a piece of toast to bring up to her.
Once he got to her room, he knocked softly a few times. When he didn't hear any movement, he whispered as he reached for the handle of the door, "Y/n, its Cedric. I'm coming in, okay?"
He slowly opened the door and peeked his head through, looking around to see if there was any sign of Y/n. Her bed was messy, but empty. Cedric grew a little confused at the unusual situation, but he made sure to keep himself calm. Still being unstable from the second Triwizard task where he had to save her, he grew worried.
Wondering where his girlfriend could be, Cedric crosses his fingers in hopes everything is okay and he will see her in their first class together.
Cedric felt weird walking alone to class, usually Y/n and him would be walking hand in hand, talking to him about random things. They would talk about the next prank the Weasley twins were going to pull, or what their plans were for the upcoming summer.
When Cedric sat down to another empty seat that is supposed to be occupied by Y/n, he grew more worried. Usually if his girlfriend was sick or something she would tell him and not just disappear.
As the class went on, Cedric decided to look for Y/n again. He asked his professor if he could use the bathroom and once he was allowed, he walked out and started thinking of where she could be.
While walking through the halls, he comes across one of Y/n's friends, Angelina. "Hey, have you seen Y/n anywhere?" Cedric tried asking calmly, but Angelina could tell he was a little nervous.
"Yeah, we were walking down to breakfast together but we got stopped by Professor Mcgonagall. She asked Y/n to come with her to her office, so I'm assuming she is still in there." Angelina responded, flashing a smile in hopes to calm her best friend's boyfriend down.
Angelina thought it was so cute how the boy her best friend always wanted so bad was worried about her. Angelina knew always knew they wanted each other, so she tried helping Y/n out and told her to make a move, but stubborn Y/n didn't want to and was scared that he didn't care about her as much as she cared about him. But obviously that was wrong.
Cedric nods and walks with a little speed to Professor Mcgonagall's office. Before arriving at the door to the office, he notices a girl walk out of the office with her hand to her face. Cedric recognized it as his girlfriend and her face was red, she walk walking slow, and she looked deep in thought.
As soon as Cedric identifies the girl, he jogs over to her and calls her name. She doesn't answer until he catches up to her and puts a hand to her back. He notices her eyes have no light in them, no look of happiness on her face. "Y/n, love, whats wrong?" Cedric says as he wraps his arms around the girl.
She looks up at him, her eyes red from crying and her eyebrows slightly furrowed. She takes the hand off her mouth and sinks into her boyfriend, tears start flowing out of her again.
"My dad," Y/n starts, hugging Cedric back. She could barely get the words out of her mouth. Her head felt fuzzy, her body, numb. "he died."
Cedric's heart dropped, a dark sorrow formed in his body. "Y/n," He didn't know what to say. "I'm so sorry." He tightened his grip on the grieving girl. "Lets go to your dorm okay?" Y/n nodded.
As they made their way up to Y/n's room, Cedric never let go of his girl. He tried thinking of ways he would be able to comfort her, he just couldn't find good words to comfort her.
Y/n sat on her bed as Cedric closed the door. Once he turned around, he saw Y/n looking at the floor, staring into space. His heart ached even more at the sight, the love of his life going through something he couldn't imagine.
He walked over to her and sat next to her so he was facing her. Cedric gently cupped the side of Y/n's cheek so she would look at him. Her head turned, but her eyes delayed in moving. Once she was looking at him, Cedric asked, "What do you need me to do?"
"I don't know." The girl responds, truly not knowing what she wants. Cedric uncupped her cheek and grabbed both of Y/n's hands. Y/n turned her body to face Cedric, she sat criss-cross.
"Do you want to cuddle?" He asks, hoping to lighten the mood a little. The girls eyes shot up to his and she huffs a little laugh, she nods. Cedric moved to the top of Y/n's bed and had his arms open for Y/n to craw into.
Y/n craws up to her boyfriend and places her head and hand on his chest. Cedric starts rubbing her back in hopes to distract Y/n from whatever she was thinking of. He hears a sigh and feels her relax into him.
"I'm sorry for not going to breakfast." Y/n says quietly.
"Please don't be. When you didn't show up I assumed you were sick so I went up here to your room but you weren't here. So then I thought you went to our first class, but when you weren't there I knew something was wrong." Cedric explained.
"Sounds like you went through a lot just to find me." Y/n joked.
"I'd go through anything to find you." Cedric responded seriously. Hearing this, Y/n looked up at her boyfriend with a gleam in her eyes.
"Really?" She said smiling.
"Really." He said. Y/n leaned and connected lips with the love of her life. They kissed softly and passionately, which Y/n needed.
"Wait aren't you supposed to be in class?" Y/n said slightly moving away from the kiss.
"You're more important." Cedric said, which made Y/n smile and made her kiss him again. "I love you so much Y/n." He mumbled against her lips.
Cedric felt her smile as she responded, "I love you so much Cedric."
Over the course of months, Cedric would comfort Y/n whenever she was feeling sad or zoning out. He would take her on dates and hold her hand whenever she wasn't smiling.
Y/n's best friend, Angelina, made sure to tell her about how worried Cedric was about her when he couldn't find her. Angelina also made sure to tell Y/n how much she loved the pair together and how she hopes to find a man who loves her as much as the pair loves each other.
The End
