Thinking about how GRRM literally created Daemon to be Rhaenyra’s consort. For those who don’t know, originally GRRM couldn’t decide on who was the best option for Rhaenyra and that’s when he got the idea of Daemon. He literally created Daemon for Rhaenyra.

Rhaenyra was originally going to marry either a Lannister or Lyonel Strong (Daemon was not yet created or included in this draft) then GRRM thought up the character of Daemon and added him as Rhaenyra’s consort instead.

More male characters should be created SOLELY to love and support the female protagonist.

nobodysuspectsthebutterfly has a post showing GRRM originally had Rhaenyra marry Lyonel Strong (and how no matter what and by whatever husband, the greens were going to try to usurp her), evidenced by the RPG guide (2012) for ASoIaF.

F&B was published in 2015; The Rogue Prince was published along with other stories in an anthology in 2014; and PatQ was published back in 2013. I would say that he created Daemon for Rhaenyra to give Viserys more of a reason to want Rhaenyra as his heir, since Viserys, now that D exists, canonically also wished to make sure the realm would not go towards someone he didn't fully trust. Also it gives the story so much more breath when you have a character like Daemon. And, of course, Rhaenyra and Daemon are pretty compatible in terms of character and political necessities; they provide the other with what they need/want the most even as they aop were "rivals" for the throne even thought they also kinda weren't. This was always Rhaenyra's story, anyway, for all the other interesting characters that surround her and interacted, tried to remove or support her (Corlys, Rhaenys, Alicent, Aemond, etc.). Her childhood, rise, and fall impacted by the misogyny and what she did or tried to do to keep her kids alive AND vie for the throne she was given and had oaths of protection for.

"couldn't decide on who was best who was the best option for Rhaenyra" -- idk, perhaps it was more hi wanting to enrich the story and give more personality and "family" to this part of Targ history, as he has done more for Jaehaerys, Rhaena, Alysanne, Maegor-Aenys before them. This doesn't stop or negate how Daemon was likely made with Rhaenyra's support base in mind. It is compelling to hear of a man/partner do whatever he can for his lover/wife, whether or not he has a character the complexity or cooperativeness of a coconut or as complex as Daemon is bc you don't get that often in traditional fantasy, male centered fantasy. Or it's publicly reviled with a million excuses before whatever version and manifestation in a particular work is actually critiqued. Because sometimes, there is something to be said abt just fictional dudes who are just more trouble than they are worth being posed as a model man. The lines between such things can get crossed.

And it appears Harwin was also created for Rhaenyra since there is no mention of him before PatQ/2013. But he (Harwin) happens to have much less characterization & personality done for him AND Rhaenyra quite clearly wanted to live as freely with a partner as possible and that wasn't really going to happen with Harwin for as long as Laenor lived at least.

Even if she was angry at Daemon for a myriad of possible reasons for the 111-112 incidents and perhaps they finally got through a successful reconciliation through their shared love for Laena (even before her death), there's room for a lot of complex & layered feelings on Rhaenyra's part towards Daemon. And I mention all of this bc apparently, GRRM also toyed with the idea of exploring Rhaenyra and Harwin's relationship more, saying that:

There’s a whole story there. At least a novella, maybe a novel but we simply did not have the time to tell it [in the show]. And it did not fit the format of my history book. But it’s a story and I’d love to do that.

(he is saying that their relationship's arc alone could fill/become a novella and he thought about doing it) which does goes to show you that Harwin WAS very important in some way to Rhaenyra--guaranteed to be someone she felt and experienced was a positive one for a time in her life at the very least.

I don't really go for Harwin bc I don't know anything abt him apart from his position, family, and devotion to Rhaenyra...so he has very little appeal for me in terms of shipping. That, and again, Rhaenyra seems to be the type who wants the "best" sort of conditions to be herself and have relationships in the open. I explain/rant HERE.

Still I agree; more males made only for a woman, plz and thank you. It's what we deserve (if a man is there and/or the attraction is there).

I have a question, would Yandere platonic Rhaenyra become the Queen or it would be Aegon or Modern Reader? Because well Aegon doesn’t want to be the King, and since Otto wants Modern Reader to become the Queen, he would probably suggest that to Viserys. Otto would also tell Alicent that Modern Reader would be better than Rhaenyra, saying “Think about it Alicent, the world started to prosper and became more peaceful thanks to Y/N. Many women and children survived thanks to her, as well as Laena Velaryon, many schools and orphanages were built. We have better roads, we have better medicine and rivalry between houses getting less, and almost stopped, also Greyjoys started to get better since Y/N told them about new ways for them to prosper and now we opened new lands and we have many trading routes, thanks to Greyjoys. Even Dorne starts to cooperate and later join us.”

Yandere Alicent answers “Y/N made a lot of things for Seven Kingdoms.”

Do you see what she’s done for everyone? She even let Aemond to claim a bigger dragon and taught maesters with medicine and science. And what did Rhaenyra do?

Yandere platonic Alicent: But Y/N doesn’t want to be the Queen. She doesn’t mind Rhaenyra becoming a Queen. She also said she has problems with health, mostly with her eyes. She has a bad eyesight without glasses.

Yandere platonic Otto: Yes, everyone knows that, but no one dares to touch or even break her glasses. Everyone knows what would happen if they did. If Modern Reader becomes the Queen, the world would become much better. I’m not talking about how many letters of betrothals I have received, and I declined them. Because I don’t want Y/N to leave us, especially when we need her. So I have a suggestion, when Viserys dies, we will crown Y/N.

You wrote great. Y/N did a lot of good for Westeros. Even more than Conquerors will be mentioned in the history books. Thanks to Y/N, they don't force Aegon to become King. However, the greens do not want Rhaenyra to be Queen. Even after Rhaenyra ascends the throne, she will continue her Y/N quests. As long as Y/N lives, he will strive for the well-being of the people of Westeros and the Royal family.

I'm having some finale wine and I think I've got it. My final resolute head canon of Riverdale.

Keep in mind I have not watched the end of season 5 through the end and have absolutely no intention to, but I've seen and heard enough about *gestures vaguely* all of that to still stand by this.

Disclaimer: I do not believe this is what the writers intended whatsoever. This is all my imagination. I do however believe in this canon whole heartedly and its as true to me as whatever RAS's vision is to him. You choose who to trust.

Okay so first and foremost the entire series is written by Jughead. It's all his writings that are probably all sitting in a google docs draft folder.

I justify this due to the following:

He is the narrator

The entire series is obsessed with Betty Cooper for good or ill (I'll get to it)

Its all kind of sort of been alluded to that its all Jughead's writings anyway. At least in S1, again. I'll get to the why of that in a second.

He started writing season 1 in his junior year (so a year after the events of the S1). He read In Cold Blood (on his own, not for class, very important to him that you all know this) and was like "Hey my town had a murder and I have some trauma around it, so I should totes do this." And thus S1 is born.

This is why that season is (relatively) more grounded and far more realistic than the rest of the series because its based on a real true thing that happened and the real feelings and emotions of people involved. It has the least amount of exaggeration (but enough, because Jughead) and has the most coherent plot, which would make sense since Jughead isn't making anything up, he is recalling events.

This is also the only season that directly ties Jughead's narration and the plot to the book Jughead is writing on page, and thus tying them both together. Because again, its a thing that really happened.

So the characterizations, motivations, and actions of everyone in season 1 is the model of how and how these characters actually are and are a base for further exaggeration.

Seasons 2-4 are also based on true events but are exaggerations/interpretations of things that really happened, but are altered to make them more interesting to Jughead's readers (heh).

I don't want this post to be a novel so here is a brief listing of that I am thinking here for some of the main plots (but if you have a plot you want me to fit into this canon let me know):

The Black Hood: When Jughead showed Betty his first manuscript (S1) the positive constructive criticism she gave was that, "True crime is really popular right now, so this fits in with the zeitgeist." And Jughead ran with it. Fred also had his first heart attack at this time...we all know where I'm going with that so I'll just leave that there. RIP.

Making Hal the Black Hood: Hal leaves the family after the Polly debacle and finding some racy pics on Betty's computer (she sent them to Jug, she wasn't a camgirl) and decides to start his life over with a woman who is far more moral (and probably like 2 years older than Polly)

The Serpents/Class War with Hiram: Not a gang, just those under the boot of the rich that Hiram tries to eradicate through good ol fashioned gentrification. Archie and Veronica also start spending more time doing rich people shit and that drives a divide between the two main couples of the core four. But less about political plots and more about teenagers growing apart because of different interests

Season 3: Putting this all together because Jughead was having a hard time finding a plot here. So he focused on Alice's new weird young boyfriend who actually ended up taking off with Polly (leaving her twins), his newfound obsession with DnD (Betty was exhaustedly supportive of this) and Kevin's endless talk about the new megachurch he just joined. He and Betty also started watching a lot of horror films and Hitchcock at the time which leads us to...

Season 4: He and Betty go off to different schools but its because of college, not because Jug is the chosen one (again see why he is writing all of this himself). He meets a lot of pretentious people that challenge his relationship with Betty and he turns it into a mystery.

So now we have made it to 4.17. Ugh.

Okay so Jughead has written all of this, and reading everything back feels that Archie and Betty (who go to the same college now and are friends again after growing apart after he dated Veronica) have grown too close and Jug self destructs.

He self sabotages so hard and makes a story up in his head that Betty would be much happier with Archie who is doing perfectly mediocre at college while Jughead flunked out.

So he and Betty break up after a lot of frustrated fighting.

And he begins to write Betty differently. Wildly differently.

(You can't tell me this doesn't make more sense than whatever the hell happened in the show.)

Jughead dejected from his failure at school and his breakup Writes on and off for the next few years. His next main attempt is S5. His attempt at more realistic writing.

(Its also after Betty enters his life again, because at her core Betty is his muse)

He works through his fictional frustrations of Betty and Archie as a possible couple (They never dated. Archie is actually a aromantic pansexual who does not do commitment) and realized that he made it all up and they have nothing in common.

Jughead and Betty get back together at the end of "Season 5" but Betty tells him that writing about their real life is what tore them apart, so he needs to not use their relationship in his writing anymore.

So Jughead decided to get weird and wildly experimental with his writing. And because Jughead is not a particularly good writer S6 and S7 are born.

Betty, absolutely running out of positive things to say about his last few writing attempts tells him that maybe these exaggerated versions of their lives that bear no resemblance to the real world have run their course, and he should try something new.

So Jughead wraps up this now unrecognizable series of writings and moves onto something new.

With Betty diligently serving as his editor. She got distracted with her new job and left him unattended for those last few seasons and look what happened.

Also I realize that Archie/Veronica/Cheryl/Toni are absent in this so briefly

Archie: He always was in awe of Archie and slightly jealous of what he perceived he had over Jughead...this is why he is the quasi-hero and also why he tortures Arch and treats him like an idiot.

Veronica: I cannot stress this enough. He and Veronica have no relationship. She is his friend's girlfriend and his girlfriend's best friend. The only thing he really knows about her is she is rich and hot. So he makes that her core personality and slaps on whatever traits fit her best for whatever plot he is writing at the time.

(This is also why almost all the women Veronica, Tabitha, Jessica, and Toni all are at some time his love interest. Self instert fan fic Jug. We see you.)

Cheryl/Toni: He and Toni are friends and Cheryl is her girlfriend who endlessly terrifies him. That is the core of her characterization.

I already regret the fact that I am sharing this long-winded mess with the world...but I can't take it back now.

The couple arrived back home in Wales early in the morning. Neither of them had gotten much sleep after Winifred had finally told Lawrence the truth about her family. He kept his promise not to utter a critical word but after hearing everything, he'd hardly spoken at all and she was too afraid to ask what his feelings were.

Just as Winifred had suspected, the death of Alice Bloomsburg had made the front pages all around Europe, making her mother the moment's fickle gossip and latest topic to speculate on. Part of her understood it, long lost Bloomsburg daughter found murdered in Whitechapel? It was a scandalous headline, even she could acknowledge that and well, if she had been a casual reader, she might be absorbed into the story as much as everyone else was.

But she wasn't a casual reader. This was her mother. Her mother who had taught her to trust women, to be herself no matter the cost, to support herself and stand on her own two feet. Her mother, found alone in an alley, murdered at the hands of a maniac.

The thought was too much to bear and Winifred could feel herself standing on the ledge of madness whenever her mind tried to draw its own pictures and fill in its own gaps trying to make sense of it all.

As they made their way into the heart of the crowd, she tried to keep her eyes averted while using Lawrence as her guide. But when he came to a jarring halt, she nearly tripped over her own feet. There, written in brilliant white chalk, was the truth in all its unforgiving letters.

Lawrence didn't say a word, only glaring down at the young paperboy. It was abhorrent to be out here selling someone's misfortune and for a split second, he imagined ripping up all of the remaining newspapers and knocking over the chalkboard. Anger bubbled beneath the surface, he could feel it under his skin, but he hadn't allowed that side of him to win in so long; he had sworn never to be like his own father.

When the young paperboy, Alberto Frank, mumbled, "are you buying one or not, Mister?", the boys voice snatched him out of his trance, bring him back to reality and Lawrence continued moving along as before, grateful to almost be home after such a tiring voyage. 

As they rounded the corner away from the crowd, Lawrence let out an audible groan. Standing in front of them was another member of the Franky family, who fundamentally had a hold on their small press source there in Wales.

"Good morning, Baudelaires! Can I interest you in this morning's paper? It's a very interesting read!" Cooper Frank posed. He was the eldest of the Frank family, but a few years younger than Lawrence himself; they had spent a few years of primary school together but were never what one would call close.

Lawrence knew he meant well, that the kid was only trying to get by like everyone else, but at that instant, none of that mattered. They were predators always looking for their next meal and Lawrence had enough of being the prey. With the fatigue from their trip, and all he learned about his wife's life prior to marrying him, the fury he'd been trying to suppress finally simmered over.

"We're not interested! And you can tell your Father that he'd better stop printing these!" He demanded.

Cooper stood there bewildered with his mouth open, unsure how to respond. It was just a question, after all, however when Lawrence stepped towards him, they immediately began sizing each other up; puffing up their chests at one another while colorful language escaped both their mouths.

"And what if we don't?" Cooper challenged, planting his feet firmly on the ground as if already bracing himself for things to get physical.

Moving in even closer, Lawrence shouted, "then I'll make you!" as he began to coil a fist, jabbing a finger in Cooper's direction.

Winifred had never seen this side of Lawrence in all their years of marriage. All she could do was stand in blinking horror while the two men yelled back and forth. It was until she watched Cooper begin rolling up his sleeves further that she knew she had to do something.

"Stop! Please!" She cried out, putting herself between them. Whether it was the pregnancy hormones, or an accretion of every single awful feeling she'd had within the last two days, her eyes began welling with tears.

As soon as her words reached his ears, Lawrence's shoulders softened. He looked into her watery, blue eyes, catching his own reflection in them, and for only a flittering second, he could swear he saw caught a glimpse of his father's rage.

Both men began to back down, neither of them wanting to accidentally harm a pregnant woman, and really they didn't want to harm the other either. They ashamedly tucked their tails between their legs and apologized to Winifred, hoping to calm the waters before they went their separate ways.

Morgan Elsbeth: The Scarecrow

If you follow any of my blogs - this one or @sarcasteacdraws - or just find the Morgan Elsbeth tag under my posts, you probably noticed I often connect my posts with Morgan with song lyrics by Tobias Sammet and his music project "Tobias Sammet's Avantasia". Even from the pieces of lyrics you can make a picture about his work, but I wanted to make a deep dive in one specific album (or more wise trilogy) - The Scarecrow, because the similarities between this story and Morgan Elsbeth's journey are insane.

Tobias composed three albums known as "The Wicked Trilogy" - The Scarecrow, Anger of Babylon and The Wicked Symphony. The trilogy tells the story of the main character simply known as Scarecrow. Scarecrow comes through a lot of pain because of tragic love, he is unhappy, broken hearted, on the bottom of his strength and probably in the darkest places he's ever been. Besides pain, depression and sadness he also feels rage and anger. And this is where Mephistopheles comes to a scene - he uses Scarecrow's weaknesses against him, promises glory, strength and revenge if he offers his soul. And Scarecrow agrees. At first you can hear in the songs how he enjoys the feeling of power in the delusion this will lead to happiness again. By the end of the trilogy Scarecrow realizes he made a horrible mistake. In the moment of weakness he traded himself for something as vain and unstable as power and glory. This battle is lost for him.

Morgan lost everything - her family, home, people and even her own heritage when the magic of Nightsisters left her. She was left scarred forever, she carried the trauma ALONE as there was no one who would understand. People who should take care of her let her down. It left so much pain and she wanted revenge. Rage and contempt were Morgan's guidance aside with her ambitions.

So yes, she is a perfect Scarecrow.

And who is Mephistopheles then?

It's simple - Thrawn.

Thrawn saw in Morgan an opportunity when no one else gave her a chance. He showed a real interest in what she wanted to achieve and thanks to his brilliant mind, he somehow made Morgan trust him and give him her devotion. Both Mephistopheles and Thrawn are smart enough to in final get what THEY want by supporting Scarecrow's/Morgan's hate and encouraging them to act in their rage. They feed the anger so it became an attachment and both Scarecrow and Morgan are stuck in place, blinded by their hate instead of finding how to heal.

In the song "The Toy Master" (sung by Alice Cooper - Mephistopheles and Tobias Sammet - Scarecrow) there is a part where Mephistopheles says: "I'm dealing in pain" which is a great parallel to Thrawn's line "Offer accepted" when Morgan offers her anger. And later there a verse in which Scarecrow responds "It's their turn to crash and burn" and again, parallel to "My world has been burning since I was a child, why this one should be different?"

It Tales of The Empire sadly is no deep dive in Morgan's and Thrawn's relationship so this is more of my theory and point of view. However it would actually make sense, don't you think? Thrawn is clever and think is much larger spectrum than the other Imperials. He sees in Morgan a potential - as long as her desire for revenge and the old pain buried under her anger live. She is basically willing to do anything, even risk it all and build a hyper space ring to travel in another galaxy because she believes Thrawn is alive. Her devotion makes her believe in him and his survival even though everyone else thinks she is just crazy.

And later on Peridea Morgan also realizes she maybe lost everything, same as Scarecrow lost his soul. For some reason (Filoni explain!) Thrawn left her behind and sends Morgan to death. She dies knowing she never felt peace again and she will never find it, she will never turn her pain in bringing her people back, she will never have a chance to finally let go of her attachment and that she probably served as another insignificant piece of Thrawn's mastermind plan. Who else would have the ability to help in such a hopeless situation then obeying, devoted, loyal Nightsister he let taste power and glory for some time?

And no, I'm not saying Morgan would achieve nothing without Thrawn - she was already a Magistrate when they met, but I think if he never got her a chance, maybe she would find a new purpose as she would slowly heal. Perhaps she would stop living in the past as she would realize causing pain to others can't change what happened and it can't change anything now.

Both Scarecrow and Morgan are tragic characters that can't be excused for causing so much pain to others, but they can be understood - they were hurt and the smart game master encouraged them to stay this way.

Having Thea's band be a street one sounds pretty cool, since some later very popular singers / bands started by "busking" on the streets too, like Tones and I (the singer of "Dance Monkey") , so Thea's band specific genre can be anything really, but since she's following Nathan's footsteps then I'll assume she went for the world of rock too

I was listening to Alice Cooper (the solo artist not the band) when you published the UG masterpost, and while obviously I don't think you'd make the BeatCRASHERS main genre be psychedelic like Alice, there are other genre options that came from psychedelic rock you can choose from, like Glam Rock (ex : T. Rex) , Hard Rock (ex : Bon Jovi) , Metal / Heavy Metal (ex : Metallica) and Punk Rock (ex : Green Day)

This thing of "street music can be anything" also technically applies to Adam and Lily, but honestly the only thing that is coming to mind right now is Metallica's "Master of Puppets" , and their main genres are Heavy, Trash and Speed Metal and Hard Rock, so you can pick any of those or their subgenres if you want

This one also came to me while still listening to Alice, specifically his song "Bed of Nails", so what do you think of Sub-Zero main genre being Classic Rock? Technically Classic Rock is more of an umbrella genre for rock/metal songs made in or similar to the 60s and 70s, sometimes 80s too, but could be interesting. If you need some genres that fall under "classic rock" there's Garage, Punk and Soft Rock and Sunshine Pop (from Pop Rock)

sounds really cool!!!! though when i refer to street i was mostly referring to like. hip hop and rap. the (fictional) group they’re based on does hip hop and rap, and i thought people would get reference if i referred to them as a street group. thats my bad though and i should have made that more clear.

also thea’s group isn’t a band, just a music group. while she takes nathan as inspiration, she’s a different person, has different tastes, and i wanted to reflect that in how she expresses herself in music.

that all goes for lily and adam too. for adam though he’d definitely be more on the techno side (YAY i finally decided. maybe he does a rock song every now and then as a treat. lily might take more of the rock pileline tho bc i’d say she’s pretty intense w her music.

as for Sub-ZERO i think i was thinking classic rock for them!!! maybe punk rock bc nathan and Sub-ZERO doing a cover of american idiot would be SIIIIICK!!! also bc i’d say that genre fits nathan p well

I'm jealous of kids today being able to grow up with the amazing YA books being written now ("now" for me being within the past 15 years or so), but I still read them even though I'm not Young. Here are a few of my favorite YA authors and books, in no particular order:

Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here TW: mental illness, suicidal thoughts I adore that there's a whole epic fantasy battle thing that we see pieces of in the foreground, but the book focuses on the characters in the background who are dealing with their own stuff.

Alice Oseman, Radio Silence and Solitaire TW: suicidal thoughts, emotionally abusive parent (RS), self-harm (S), eating disorder (S) You might recognize Alice Oseman as the author of the Heartstopper comic and TV series. They wrote novels too! Really good ones, although that's not surprising. Solitaire's protagonist is Charlie's sister Tori, and its events take place a year or so after the start of Heartstopper (possible spoilers for season 3, who knows?). Radio Silence is set in the same town I think another year later, and Aled (who was in the comics, but was renamed and somewhat reimagined as Isaac in TV Heartstopper) is a main character though not the protagonist. Nick, Charlie, and Tori make very brief cameos.

David Levithan and John Green, Will Grayson, Will Grayson TW: I can't think of any major triggers in this book, I apologize if I missed something. Obviously both of these authors have independently written other excellent books, but this one is my favorite, mostly because I love Tiny Cooper and his musical so much. This is the lightest (i.e. not dark, and not heavy) by far of the books here. It's mostly really fun but occasionally serious.

Jandy Nelson, I'll Give You the Sun TW: bullying, homophobia, suicidal thoughts, death I read a review of this book that basically said enough with the artsy language and metaphors, so maybe it isn't for everybody, but I found it brilliant. It encapsulates a thought or an idea or a feeling in a way you'd never expect, but that you relate to immediately. Also I think that having the POV switch between twins, but two years apart (one twin at 14, the other twin at 16) with a major life-altering event in between, is an amazing way to tell this story.

Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor and Park and Carry On TW: bullying (E&P), abusive family situation (E&P), vampires (CO) Eleanor and Park is set in the 80s with all of the requisite 80s accessories, and characters that will make your heart break in different ways. Carry On is a sort of Drarry fanfic spoof (and supposedly written by a character in a different Rainbow Rowell novel!). But the characters are so well-developed and engaging that you stop seeing them as caricatures and start caring about them in their own right.

Jesse Andrews, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and The Haters TW: vulgar talk (really just teenage boys trying to be gross), dysfunctional family situation (M&E&DG), death (M&E&DG) I can't overstate how much I love the writing style of these books. Always entertaining and often hilarious, it jumps from normal prose to an outline, to a film script, to a bulleted list, and always turns out to be the perfect way to show whatever is going on.

What's most important to me: In all of these books, the young adult characters are real people who are complicated, and surprising, and funny, and passionate. They may have serious problems but they can have fun and be silly. They screw up but they try to fix things. They love and support their friends, and their friends love and support them. Often there are parents who are also real people doing their best; I appreciate that in a YA book! For the most part these books don't have magically happy endings, but they do end in a good place, with hope.

The seventh season of Riverdale goes where no season of Riverdale has dared to go before—the 1950s!

Wonder why we've never been there before. Not because it's fucking stupid, but because it took till now for Ted Sullivan to have this absolute brainchild that will revolutionize the show.

Picking up where last season ended, Jughead Jones (Sprouse) finds himself trapped in the 1950s. He has no idea how he got there, nor how to get back to the present. 

The writers: We watch our own show, what are you talking about? We remembered that plot point, didn't we! Aren't you proud of us? Huh? Aren't you?

His friends are no help, as they are living seemingly authentic lives, similar to their classic Archie Comics counterparts, unaware that they’ve ever been anywhere but the 1950s. 

Oh rats, because typically, they are an absolute bastion of support and assistance.

Archie Andrews (Apa) is the classic all-American teen, coming of age, getting into trouble, and learning life-lessons

S1-25 year old teen - absolutely insufferable Archie is back, and this time, he's even more unaware! Hopefully with less grooming, especially from a show that is convinced it's making a profound social statement.

Betty Cooper (Reinhart) is the girl next door, starting to question everything about her perfect life—including her controlling mother Alice (Madchen Amick)

Somehow, some way, we are still circling the same plot about abusive parents. And you know how this refrain goes, people. Alice is horrendously abusive, she cries, we are supposed to forgive her. Looks like something ripped straight out of s1 but peep the absolutely no implication of anything BA related.

Veronica Lodge (Mendes) is a Hollywood starlet who moved to Riverdale under mysterious circumstances;

California and not New York???!!!! So exotic! Very wow! What an incredible stroke of genius, Roberto! They have not been shy about pumping the Varchie up, have they? It also usually only exists in addition to another ship....

Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) is the Queen Bee with a withering wit and a secret longing

I mean, Cheryl's plot has functionally never changed, so I don't know who's shocked at this, except for maybe the writers thinking it's revolutionary to recycle Cheryl's S2 plot instead of her S1 plot. Note that Mads and Vanessa's Instagrams are and have always been a pantheon of spoilers and it does look like they're doing a lot of filming together.

Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) is an activist fighting for the Black students of recently integrated Riverdale High

.....I can see my brain. I can literally see my brain, my eyes are rolling so hard. How do we make an already insufferable (my opinion, stressing that here) character even more insufferable and pretend we are making a profound social statment, something we are absolutely incapable of making? Toni is an activist for integration!

(real talk, I think we'll see very little of this plot, as we'll see very little plot for the secondary characters)

Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) is a “square” crooner wrestling with his sexual identity

Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton) is a basketball star from farm country

The one thing I hope is true. God, I hope my dear himbo Reggie is back.

 Fangs Fogarty (Drew Ray Tanner) is a greaser who’s destined to be an Elvis-type star

Seriously, what ammunition does Drew have on the writers that he keeps getting brought back? My thought is they're going back to Kangs though, if we're going the OG way.

It isn’t until Jughead is visited by Tabitha Tate (Erinn Westbrook)—Riverdale’s Guardian Angel—that he learns the cosmic truth about their predicament.

Just....one facepalm is not enough. Five hundred facepalms are not enough. Tabitha, a character that is to put it generously not well loved and has been around for two seasons, is the Guardian Angel???

We know that they resolve Jughead remembering by the end of the premiere, per RAS, so I honestly wonder if Tabitha's role in S7 is very light. If Jughead forgets, her role is essentially moot and we have seen very little of her in BTS.

Anyway, my dear fellow sufferers, let's get through this together, one last time before we are finally set free.

No because Daemon was actually fair and merciful when he sent Blood & Cheese for just a son, let’s not forget that the Greens sent his wife into an early labour which resulted in a brutal and highly traumatic stillbirth and throw a feast to celebrate Lucerys’ murder, sorry but Daemon is so much better than me, I would’ve gone for Helaena and the twins too, I am not kidding.

I don't know about him being "merciful" at all. It wasn't. Killing a child can never really be, unless that kids is dying or in extreme pain from an injury/illness that will eventually kill them in other ways.

Someone somewhere said that emotionally, not morally, Daemon was "correct". I have said in the past that his killing one of Aegon's kids was not correct but more a reflection on how the greens targeted Rhaenyra and her kids for years until one of them killed her son. that Daemon may have decided to bring about a stark and immediate consequence for their actions. Some people argue that he may have not have sent B&C or that he only sent them after Aegon bc to go after his children is just a really stupid PR/strategy move, esp in lieu of Daemon having had suggested they enlist the lords who swore oaths to Rhaenyra AND those who would need to otherwise be informed that their queen is calling them out on their loyalties though those envoys they're sending. B&C could undo those measures or put them at severe risk. And so B&C must have either been botched or not Daemon at all but someone trying to divide the blacks' unity and undermine their image.

This is a really good argument, and you could do it that way. I'm more inclined towards B&C being Daemon's idea but he was trying to go after Aegon, or 2nd choice Aemond.

Why Aegon and not Aemond when Aemond is the one who is one f the bigger threats against the blacks AND was the one who actually killed Luke? Because if you killed the adult male heir instead of just his brother, you'd open up an internal crisis amongst the greens bc there could be dissension over who needs to be declared the heir, the son of the past male candidate--Jaehaerys--or the adult uncle--Aemond? You would be banking on Aemond insisting on being crowned and thus stoking resentment, and how would Otto react? Who would Criston follow or encourage and support? I think Alicent would be stuck between her son and grandson, but she'd want her grandson to be the heir and Aemond remain their military edge/arm, which Aemond again might resent and not totally comply with. We already saw how Aemond was against basic cooperation when he refuses to go south with Criston later...but idk. And Daemon, rather than Rhaenyra, might think of this bc he could dissociate. Or that his grief made him more stone cold and focused his rage. I like the latter more, but why not both?

Great (& authentic) sense of place & community, well-developed OCs (Bucky's sisters) - it's a meet-cute followed by all the work an actual relationship takes, very real & genuine with the emotions & hurdles that come up.

NITA STRAUSS Recruits Singer KASEY KARLSEN For Upcoming 'Summer Storm' Tour

Nita Strauss has recruited a vocalist named Kasey Karlsen to join her onstage during the guitarist's upcoming "Summer Storm" tour.

In a Twitter message introducing Kasey, Nita wrote: "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Kasey Karlsen to the squad!!

"Kasey will be holding down the vocal duties on the upcoming Summer Storm tour starting next month!!"

Strauss added: "We needed someone fearless and versatile for this tour who could handle tons of different vocal styles, and if you've seen Kasey's videos you already know she can do it all. She is going to destroy these stages and we are beyond excited to have her with us!!"

Karlsen has a half a million followers on TikTok where she posts vocal covers of such acts as SLIPKNOT, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, BRING ME THE HORIZON and ICE NINE KILLS.

The "Summer Storm" trek will kick off on June 13 in Nashville and wrap up on July. 14 in New Orleans. Support on the tour will come from LIONS AT THE GATE, the new band featuring former ILL NIÑO members Cristian Machado (vocals),Ahrue "Luster" Ilustre (guitar) and Diego Verduzco (guitar),alongside bassist Stephen Brewer (WESTFIELD MASSACRE) and drummer Fern Lemus.

Nita will release her sophomore solo album, "The Call Of The Void", on July 7 via Sumerian Records. The LP features guest appearances by IN FLAMES vocalist Anders Fridén, former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman, HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale, Alice Cooper, DISTURBED's David Draiman, Dorothy, Alissa White-Gluz of ARCH ENEMY and Chris Motionless of MOTIONLESS IN WHITE.

Regarding the album's title, Strauss shared: "Have you ever been at the top of a high building and had the fleeting thought, '… I could jump right now?' This feeling is sometimes called 'The Call Of The Void,' also known as 'high place phenomenon.' It's not a suicidal impulse, rather the exact opposite — a subconscious decision to live your life, to step back from the ledge, and take control. As researcher April Smith aptly put it: 'An urge to jump affirms the urge to live.'

"I wanted the follow-up to 'Controlled Chaos' to be exciting, new, and fresh, to take listeners to a new place and take myself somewhere new as an artist too. We have some amazing collaborations on this album with incredible musicians, as well as the instrumental guitar music that first inspired me to play.

"Some pieces of music come into the world gracefully and easily. This album is not one of them! 'The Call Of The Void' was born kicking and screaming, a labor of love for sure, but also of blood, sweat and plenty of tears. I couldn't be more proud of the end result. Making this album helped me learn and grow so much as a musician and songwriter and I'm excited to finally unleash it on the world."

In early December 2022, Nita told "The Mistress Carrie Podcast" about her decision to make the upcoming LP half vocal songs and half instrumental: "I did feel, and the label and everybody agreed, it's still important for me to keep my identity as a guitar player and not just branch off too much and go, 'Okay, well, now it's just guests.' Let me still have a little of what makes me me, which is the instrumental shred stuff. And the instrumental pieces that I've written on this record are, I think, better than anything I did on the first one — definitely more… I don't know if it could be more emotional but they're very emotional pieces of music and I think a little better crafted this time around. So I think all the songs in general are more well thought out, better put together this time around. And I do have some of my absolute favorite [singers guesting on it]."

Nita released 2018's "Controlled Chaos" to mass acclaim from fans and media alike, with Metal Injection calling it "a great debut that — as its creator intended — leaves no doubt", and Guitar World stating "'Controlled Chaos' is a panoramic view of Nita Strauss's many strengths".
