Chapter 1 - We've Nailed It!
First chapter is done! I told myself the chapters won't be long and look at me, pulling out of thin air 2000+ chapter. This is what happens when I can finally sit and write what I want. Anyway, enjoy! 💜
Link to the base of this AU called "Snapshots of the Moon"
Summary: A short story right after the hiring, where it turns out that Caroline and Laura wanted to get hired by The Who and got lucky, while Janet and Pamela got hired by pure luck and they are as excited as the other two. Possible crush on all four band members for the respective ones they got hire for? You bet!

They told them to wait in a hall outside the studio room that they used for hiring purposes. The studio wasn't large, nor complicated, but neither of the three wanted to leave the hall. Laura was curious enough to leave the door ajar and peek inside.
"Won't they shoe us away if they spot us?" asked Pamela, seeing that Janet was making her way to the door as well. The chubby girl squeezed herself next to Laura.
"Not if we keep quiet." Laura turned her head to Pamela and gestured her to come closer. "Come on, Keith Moon appeared, he's the last one to choose."
"Oh, the fashionably late one." Janet chuckled. Pamela let the curiosity won and she joined the other two, being a witness to what seemed like the second shortest hiring this day. Only John was this quick with a decision.
"Sheeesh, that woman is determined." Janet commented, seeing how the woman sitting now in front of Keith showed him her photographs and then took out one more.
"You have no idea..." Laura said, observing with the other girls the last hiring of the day.
"You know her?" Pamela looked down on Laura, she was the tallest of them all.
Laura nodded. "If not her, I wouldn't learn about the hiring that fast." She lowered her voice, explaining. "Caroline literally came to visit me right after I finished breakfast, slammed the newspaper on my table and pointed at the notice, saying: Are you with me on this? I literally forgot about my anger at her sudden visit this early."
"Sounds like not only I wanted this job to be near my idol during a tour." Janet admitted, a sheepish smile appearing on her face.
"Believe me, every women that we were facing against today had that same goal. We've got lucky." Pamela added.
"Extremely," Laura sighed "I literally thought that Pete will choose Anthony over me." She suddenly turned around. "Where did this guy go?"
"For some coffee." Pamela explained. "For all five of us."
"Ey, that's very nice." Janet grinned at the same time when Caroline smiled triumphantly, landing the job.
The three saw her approaching the door after she gathered her photographs, Keith being busy admiring the one she gave him. Her excitement was only contained until she joined the others in the hall, closing the door behind her.
"We did it!" The screams of Laura and Caroline could be heard by the band, drawing a chuckle out of Roger, but as for the two, they didn't care. They hugged each other, making a spin.
"I thought I'll be too ambitious, but damn, I knew that the idea of bringing these freaking photos, especially the last one was a good one!" Caroline's excitement was off the rails.
"You'd have to see my fear when I was to be hired, Pete literally had to make a choice between me and one guy, but in the end he choose both!" Laura joined in the excitement, it was very contagious. "But not only my hiring was stressful, Pamela and Janet were nervous too!"
Laura quickly introduced the three.
"I had it easy, John just liked me and he decided to hire me." Janet's sheepish smile appeared again. "But Pamela was sweating bullets."
"Roger wanted to hire five girls," she chuckled, waving her hand. "I was happy to be in the group, but then Pete had a problem with it, because they had to hire one, while he hired two..."
"One. Anthony is for the concert photos only," Laura added quickly "but yeah, Pete is like that from what I know..."
"True. I'm extremely lucky to land that job." Pamela puffed her chest out a bit. "Had beaten the other girlies, I'm feeling like a queen now!"
"You should!" All three agreed and before Janet and Pamela managed to ask Caroline about her take on her hiring process, Anthony appeared in the hall.
"I have the coffee!" He announced, greeting the new woman with a smile. "Care to join us, Miss?"
"Sure and Caroline is enough."
The four went to the room Anthony walked in. They waited for the band members to get instructions from, killing the time by drinking the coffee and talking.
Meanwhile, Pete was explaining to others his idea.
"I want them to make a story of our tour with these photos. Let it be during concert, our spare time, travel time from place to place. I have it all planned out and I would like them to have certain moments on photos-"
"Wait my dear boy," Keith interrupted him, ignoring Pete's glare completely. "If I get a personal photographer I want her to perpetuate moments I want, not which ones you want."
"Keith's right. If we've hired them, it would be only fair to have them take photos of moments we want them to take." John added, liking Pete's idea. "In this way, they become true separate stories that can be put together after the whole tour."
"This will be a lot of work and with my idea there will be less work!" Pete argued.
"And then you'll say that the photos are not good and you'll tell them to delete everything" Roger argued. John and Keith agreed with Roger. "This almost happened with the recordings of our concert at Leeds and you know how well this album sold."
Pete glared at the three, throwing his hands in the air. "DO WHAT YOU WANT!"
"Great! I'm gonna go talk to her now." Keith went to the door as first.
"We'll figure this all out at the very end of the tour." John concluded, following Keith right after.
"Why are you all always against me?" Pete murmured, rubbing his temples when he heard Roger's words before he left as well.
"We're not. As weird as it sounds, Keith has got a point."
The new employed photographers were called out of the room by John and Keith who peeked their heads inside and asked if they can talk separately with their photographers. Caroline and Janet looked at each other, before standing up.
"Roger will come shortly," John informed Pamela, seeing Roger in the hall. "As for you two, go to Pete" John said to Laura and Anthony. "He's in the studio, I think he won't come out of it for longer."
"Alright, we'll go" Anthony said, standing up, Laura doing the same. John and Janet stood in the hallway, seeing that Keith and Caroline went to a room nearby, Roger joined Pamela in the room the photographers occupied and Anthony with Laura joined Pete in the studio.
John cleared his throat. "We can talk here, I don't need a fancy, separate room." Janet's attention was all on him immediately. The difference between heights was big. She was reaching past his elbow. "What I want you to do is take pictures of me and my mates during the upcoming tour. It's up to you If you focus on me only or you'll photograph me with others. I just want you to choose perfect moments to take photos of, got it?"
"Sounds simple enough." Janet flashed a smile at him. "I guess I'll be next to you in every moment possible then. I hope that working for you will be a pleasure, Mister Entwistle." She extended a hand to him.
John looked at it, smiling back at her, taking her hand in his and shaking it. "I hope for that too and call me John. Mister Entwistle is too formal."
In the room that Roger and Pamela occupied the instructions were passed just as quickly. They sat next to each other while Roger was making his point clear.
"Pete said something about the photos making a story of our tour, but I want you to present the work behind it all mostly, focusing on my perspective." Pamela nodded, listening to every word he was saying. "Personal stuff, rehearsals, conversations, my interactions with others, you know the drill."
"I'll just add the fights and it'll be complete" Pamela added, earning a pat on the back from Roger.
"You know what you've got yourself into," he was genuinely impressed. "No wonder, I knew by your looks that you're the best suited for this job." He smiled at her, his grin as wide as always. The blush he received as an answer was everything for him.
With Pete it was more difficult. Anthony and Laura had to sit and listen through his ramblings about the concept of a story done by photos. "I had these points accurately planned out but this lot said they wanted it another way!"
He's cute when he's angry, Laura thought while Anthony said:
"Don't worry, even if the photos won't tell a one, coherent story, we can work on it."
Pete's eyes shined.
"Yeah, just leave the work to us later. We'll gather the photos and see what we can do. Or better, you can work on it with us, Mister Townshend. There will be three people for that with one that has the general idea of how it has to look like." Laura's words could be perceived as crawling to Pete, but neither he or Anthony had seen it as that. Pete got in a better mood. "I'm glad someone sees the potential in my project! Anthony, you'll be responsible for the concert photos and you, Laura... You'll be responsible for taking photos of everything else."
"Got it, boss!" Both shouted in unison. Pete hadn't had any regrets about hiring them both.
Keith, however was a completely different case.
"Pete started talking about some kind of tale told with photos," he started explaining, gesturing with the hand he was holding the freshly lit cigarette. "It's not a bad idea, but I don't want you to follow a pattern thought by Pete. I want you to go wild, take photos of whatever you want, make them as memorable as you can."
"Taking photos of you playing is already a difficult work," Caroline said. "So if I think of spending a day with you, Mister Moon-"
"Keith," he corrected her immediately. He passed the pack of cigarettes to her. "I don't fancy any formalities. Take one if you want." He pointed at the pack.
"Thank you." Caroline took one without hesitation. Keith was observing her every move, taking a drag and puffing it out slowly, holding the hand near his mouth. "So, spending days with you, Keith, would actually consist of taking photos of you during concerts, backstage, hotels, travelling from one point to the other." She lit the cigarette, and took a drag, hiding the lighter in her purse.
"You got that right." There was something about her, he couldn't exactly point what it was though. "As long as I'm in the photo, I'm fine with that."
"No limits?"
"Not a single one."
"Thank fucking God!" Caroline clapped her hands happily. Keith widened his eyes, curiosity piqued. "The last guy I worked for wanted precise photos, he literally stood behind me and was telling me what perspective he wanted. I thought I'll go nuts!"
"The photo you took of me was that one?"
"No, I have copies at home. I can bring them next time."
"Tomorrow then." Keith grinned at her shocked expression. "You're starting tomorrow."
"But the tour is in about two weeks."
"I want you here tomorrow. Tale of the tour starts in here." He tapped his finger against the table. "In this room, from the second I told you you're hired, but don't feel stressed, my dear girl." The grin he showed her made her blush, he noticed it, but didn't comment on it. Only leaned in her direction, resting his elbows on the table, deepening her blush in the process like he expected. He tilted his head, his longer hair falling on his shoulders. "It's suppose to be fun, not stressful."
"Alright, but one more thing." Caroline cleared her throat, Keith took a drag, watching her. "Will I be able to ask you something when it's all over?"
"You can ask it now." Keith looked at her in a kind of a pleading way.
"Nah, the question will make more sense after the tour."
Keith furrowed his eyebrows. "Fine, but I have a question for you now." He made a short pause. "You are one of my fans, aren't you?"
Caroline lowered her gaze. "Yeah, I am." An image of her room flashed before her eyes. Every poster with him, every newspaper clipping, every photo she could get her hands on was there. "I'm not the only one though, I mean..." She started explaining, but she silenced her voice once she looked up at him. Keith sat there, amused.
Keith didn't hum it, but a song he wrote fairly recently played in his mind, specifically these lyrics: Each time you play a melody, it means the earth to this little girl. Can you be cruel and break her heart, tear her small world apart?
Shame it wasn't put on the album, she'd love it probably, he thought, noticing Caroline's embarrassment.
"Working with someone who admires me is better than working with a professional photographer who doesn't give a fuck." He was honest with her. "Welcome aboard then!"
"Thank you, Keith!" Her words were sincere, they put a smile on his face. The one she adored.
This was all Keith needed. "Welcome to the madness then, my dear girl, I hope you enjoy it."

At the company retreat, one extremely drunk girl asked what my pronouns were. (Eventually, it took her a while to word the question.) After the whole conversation was done, she goes- "YEAHHH GURL, Get on with--with THY bad self! See what I did?? They/them/thy."
I was almost holding back tears from trying not to laugh as I told her yes that's great you nailed it honey. Thank you very much I am feeling the love.
Anyway I've been assigned Thee/Thine at Supportive Drunk Girl

Hey kid, look at me.
I want you to T-pose. Turn your right thumb up and your left thumb doen and look at your right thumb. Move your arms up and down a bit until you feel a nerve running from your armpit to your palm. Now turn your right thumb down and your left thumb up, and look at your left thumb. Keep your chest facing forward and your shoulders back. Move your arms again until you feel that nerve again. Keep alternating between these two for a minute, or look at each thumb thirty times each.
Now sit down. Put your left hand firmly under your left buttock, palm down. Keep your shoulders back and put your right hand over the crown of your head, very gently pulling it to the right. Do this for thirty seconds, then do it again but with your right hand under your right buttock.
These are stretches for the nerves in your arms, and are very good for people who sit behind a computer a lot, or fibre artists, or you name it. Do them daily. They will hurt in the beginning, but keep doing them, even after the pain has gone, or it will return and you'll have to start all over.

Suzanne Collin’s just said fuck you to everyone who’s ever critiqued the Hunger Games as being a “teen girl saves the day” story. She said oh, Mockingjay didn’t make it clear enough? Here’s a book about how people have been rebelling for decades only to have their efforts suppressed and propagandized. Rebellion takes time and it takes failure and Katniss may have been the spark that ignited the wildfire but she did so standing atop the doused flames of everyone who came before her.

one time I used the ben affleck smoking reaction image in the family group chat and my mom replied with the funniest possible response which was: "mommy doesn't know who the guy is???" and that phrase has not left my brain since. I'll see blorbos on my dash that I don't recognize and I'll be like well it seems mommy doesn't know who the guy is.

the way haymitch must have seen it as all his ghosts coming back to haunt him at once when katniss walked onto the train with the face of burdock and asterid, the pin of maysilee, the voice of lenore dove, and a background so devastatingly similar to his own. of course sweetheart slipped out. and of course he did everything he could to keep her alive

The Hunger Games has the FUNNIEST arranged marriage of all time btw. Katniss realizes she'll have to marry Peeta and she's obviously upset so Haymitch tries to comfort her by saying "you could do a lot worse" and Katniss is like "well DUH of course I could do worse than Peeta he's the best & handsomest person on the face of the planet but that's not the POINT I want to be able to choose for MYSELF". Then she goes and chooses Peeta anyway lol. Comedy gold I tell you
