“Don’t take this the wrong way Hal, but I’m going to ignore that,” Barry remarked. “The point is, the first Robin would probably be in his 30s now!”
Suddenly the snickers that had been underscoring their conversation cut off abruptly.
“I am not 30,” Nightwing declared, aghast.
Or
Nightwing suddenly reveals that he was the first Robin and Oliver Queen is in for a ride
JL finding out bat secrets, but it's in the most simple ways.
Barry: how old do you think Robin is?
Oliver: you met him last week, he's like 12
Barry: yeah but like, he was 14-ish when we started the justice league
Hal: maybe he's an immortal vampire like batman
Nightwing: that's ridiculous
Hal: we have aliens and gods on this team. Why not vampires?!
Wally: can't be immortal if he was 14 then but 12 now
Barry: I've cracked it, there's more than one
Oliver: Your genius amazes and astounds
Barry: So the first Robin should be like 30 by now
Dick: WHAT
Dick: 30! IM 26
Dick now in crisis: I AM NOT THAT OLD YET
Barry: Hold on, wha-
*Wally silently laughing at Dick despite them being almost the same age*
Oliver: Were you Robin?!?!?!
Dick: I can't believe this betrayal! It's called mid 20's and you're no longer invited to Christmas Ollie!
Oliver: I was invited to your Christmas!?!
Wally: Well, not anymore you're not
Hal: Can I come?
Dick: that's up to Batman
Hal:...
Dick: Coward, this is why you aren't invited to family Christmas
Barry: YOURE RELATED TO BATMAN?!
Oliver: I WAS INVITED TO BATMANS FAMILY CHRISTMAS?!?!?!

*Dick crashes out while on patrol and beats someone within an inch of their life*
Bruce: Dick might be a little bit fragile after last night, so let’s try to be sensitive.
Jason: Oh, believe me- I am going to be nothing but nice to Dick from now on. If he snaps and goes on a rampage, who do you think he’s coming for first?
Bruce: He’s not going on a rampage.
Tim: I bet he’d let me live. He likes me.
Damian: I’m just gonna say it. I never trusted him.

do you think Jon ever grew up and hit Clark with the full-throated teenage angst of “you like Nightwing more than you like me!” and Clark has to rapidly backpedal and explain that relationship to a kid who just sees people nonstop joking about “coparenting” and how Dick “got the best of both parents” etc? Dick Grayson, the most golden boys of golden boys — even Superman’s son would feel a little small in comparison to that legacy, right?

"Rebellions are built on hope"
Suzanne Collin’s just said fuck you to everyone who’s ever critiqued the Hunger Games as being a “teen girl saves the day” story. She said oh, Mockingjay didn’t make it clear enough? Here’s a book about how people have been rebelling for decades only to have their efforts suppressed and propagandized. Rebellion takes time and it takes failure and Katniss may have been the spark that ignited the wildfire but she did so standing atop the doused flames of everyone who came before her.

Something that I haven't seen anyone talk about is the fact that Plutarch Heavensbee being the videographer in SotR relates to the real world Plutarch (who he was presumably named after).
Real Plutarch was a Roman writer most famous for his biographies that paired up and compared great Greeks and Romans. He wrote about their character (rather than simply history) and his works are some of the most complete and frequent sources used when studying the Roman Republic and its fall. Essentially, the lack of other sources have made his works the only real reference point for this time, regardless of their accuracy and the fact that Plutarch was writing a good century after the Republic had already fallen. We don't know how much of Real Plutarch's writing is historically accurate compared to biased its production under the Roman Empire.
While Plutarch Heavensbee's footage ends up removed as part of Snow's propaganda, his name serves as a reminder that information that comes from one source (be it a Roman writer or the Capital) cannot be be taken at face value. The trust we put in single sources is what allows for misunderstandings of history and blatant propaganda to persevere.
One Plutarch's stories lives on in a dangerously singular way; the other Plutarch's were swept under the rug to make room for a different single narrative.
TL;DR Plutarch Heavensbee's name is a warning to consider multiple sources. Think critically, and look don't trust something said by a single authority.

Brucie Wayne is one of my favourite pieces of fanon because what it essentially boils down to is that very real truth that we as a society would not be remotely surprised to learn that any of those fuckass tech billionaires had decided to take crime into their own hands but would just laugh it off if you said the same about Paris Hilton
#I stand by my belief that Paris Hilton is the best real-world analogue for Brucie#I also want to be clear that I do not believe fictional billionaire Bruce Wayne to be in the same category as real billionaires#the only ethical billionaires are fictional#batman#bruce wayne#batfamily

A necessary reminder that Yoda is very much a part of the Disaster Lineage
Yall remember that one time in clone wars where Yoda asked Anakin to help him escape the Jedi temple because he never followed the councils orders?
Same energy as grandpa asking the pot smoking grandchild to help him escape the retirement home

Absolutely insane that this episode was near identical to a hiatus angst-with-a-happy-ending fic. Like Buck spiralling and lashing out? Check. Eddie lashing out right back? Check. Buck using a dog as an Eddie stand-in? Check. BUCK MOVING INTO EDDIE'S HOUSE?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHECK!?!?
Literally all you have to do is change their hug into a kiss or a confession and you could post this on ao3 and I wouldn't even notice.
#insane#I have never witnessed the fanfic mentality come to life like this before#I truly thought Buck moving into Eddie's house was a crazy concept even in fics what do you mean it's real?#anyway I've never actually watched an episode of this show#idk how i got here#buddie#911 abc#911 abc spoilers#evan buckley#eddie diaz

I really love the way that SM-33 switched sides during the “claimsies” argument because to me it was a reminder that for all the fun the show’s had with 33 being beholden to the pirate code, he’s still fundamentally a Star Wars Droid.
Throughout the show we’ve seen that 33 is not just thematically pirate-coded, but he’s also often been bound by rules in a way that is fairly common for robots in media. He doesn’t remember “no At Attin”, he attacks the kids when reminded of his orders, etc. While this is behaviour that is normal for a typical robot, 33 isn’t just a robot— he’s specifically a Star Wars droid, and Star Wars has always shown droids to be sentient beings capable of “emotional” attachments.
So of course 33 accepted that claimsies was close enough, because fundamentally he wanted to be on the kids side. He’s been waiting the whole show for viable reasons to attack Jod because despite being constrained to his programming, he still has his own personality and opinions.
TLDR 33 isn’t just a robot, he’s a droid who’d been waiting for the chance to have a go at Jod
#SM-33 is a certified Jod hater#and he was done with his bullshit#star wars#star wars skeleton crew#skeleton crew#sm 33#jod na nawood#sm-33#skeleton crew spoilers

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I actually didn't hate the wwdits finale. Maybe it's because I've never really engaged with the fandom or Nandermo beyond passing interest, but with the way the finale laid out the thesis of the show, I'm not really upset that we never saw any explicit romance between Nador and Guillermo.
To me, the finale made a strong statement that this show was never supposed to be about character growth and development (an admittedly unusual take on storytelling). Instead, it makes a statement about immortality and the inherent cycles that form when you live beyond a human lifespan. You can try to break the cycles, and maybe some things change, but at the end of the day the vampires wear out of date clothes and speak with accents that harken back to their human lives. 6 years is nothing in the lives of the vampires.
Yet, the show also emphasizes that just because these cycles exist, that doesn't negate the value of relationships both new and old. Guillermo is a part of the crew, and is valued even if most of them won't admit it. His impact may not have been able to enact character growth on the hundreds-of-years-old immortals, but he was still able to become a part of the family.
Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, but I actually found it refreshing to be able to compare the pilot and the finale and see that the real changes were in Guillermo's confidence and in his more natural inclusion in the group.
I absolutely understand why many people were pissed at the ending, and I will admit my first thought with the laying-in-bed Nandermo ending was that it was about as respectful as the Sherlock/Moriarty kiss (though I'm not totally sure I still feel that way). But idk, something about this finale just really hit for me.
#please don't hate me for this it's just my rambling thoughts#what we do in the shadows#wwdits#wwdits finale#wwdits spoilers#wwdits season 6#nandermo

Kinda interesting that all the Time Quangles so far have taken place in Calorum or the Neverafter which are both medieval-esque settings which are mostly easier for the modern/futuristic characters to understand. Wouldn't it be funny to see like anyone else respond to a Starstruck setting or even just good old fashion New York City™
#I have loved seeing characters try to understand Calorum#and now I want the opposite#give me candy people in new york#give me pinocchio in space#hell give me Kingston Brown literally anywhere I want to see how this dude who has famously never left nyc handle any other setting#dimension 20#brennen lee mulligan#d20 time quangle#time quangle#d20
