I think it depends on the personality of the wielder! It is indeed a vibe check of Ribbon specifically - being a glass cannon and a kindhearted trickster by nature, her fighting style is that of a far-and-away sniper.

(It’s also empowered by positive energy in all cases - her mentorship with the Queen, her sisterly bond with Adeleine, and her romantic friendship with Kirby all serve to draw out its power.)

I’d like to think the original wielder of the Crystal was Queen Ripple, under whom it took the form of a longspear or glaive-type weapon - she’s shy and clumsy, and therefore putting her enemies at a distance and tripping them up with a polearm grants her an advantage. Her health suffered as a result of a prolonged “mysterious illness” (Zero’s possession) and she was no longer able to fight like she used to, so she willingly relinquished control and it returned to its default form as a Big Ass Rock.

what is gabi’s specific role and goal when it comes to belos and the emperor’s coven (maybe count the hexsquad)?

As far as Gabi and everyone else knows, they're meant to be Belos' heir and become emperor after his death (truthfully they were only created so Belos could possess their body and keep on living after his current body dies (the curse didn't make him immortal in this au))

They don't have a sigil so at the start of the series their goal is to prove to Belos they're worthy enough of getting one.

During the course of s2a they realize that hey!! Hunter HAS sigil and compared to them he literally does nothing, he's out for missions only on weekends and even then, they're not hard. So why does he have a sigil? They're more deserving. Cue to them joining Hunter in his mission to stop the rebels from entering Belos' mind just to break the vial Darius, Raine and Eberwolf left behind on purpose so they can invade his subconscious and finally discover why the hell he won't give them their oh so deserved sigil

Story Summary: Longing for revenge on her abusers, Bianca Andretti seeks out the help of "The Nice Guys," a pair of private investigators, to track them down. As she works alongside them to find and ruin the lives of the ones who wronged her, Bianca finds herself falling for one of the PIs- Holland March, a mess of a widowed single father with a love for alcohol and cigarettes. Holland, playing the hero for Bianca, may be developing the same feelings– even if his teenage daughter, Holly, has her doubts. The other Nice Guy, Jackson Healy, just wants to find Bianca's abusers, but ends up being everyone's therapist.

Chapter Summary: After nailing down that Bianca's abuser Byron has become a hard-core Catholic in an attempt to repent for his treatment of Bianca, The Nice Guys (and girls) perform their first truly undercover work, not as Holland, Healy, Holly, and Bianca, but as Fathers Elliot and Monaghan, Anna, and Sister Andrea– two priests, a nun, and a seemingly innocent little church girl. The plan is to get Byron to confess and get that confession on tape– as well as to avoid burning up in holy flames when they enter the church, seeing as none of them– except maybe Holly– are seeing the Pearly Gates when they die. As they get their revenge on Byron through sacrilegious means, Holland and Bianca also do some confessing of their own.

This was mostly just an exercise to give both of them adult designs. uh. i'm only calling it an au because I made bs some explanations behind their designs while i was drawing them. so uh, in this universe, sburb never happens + things that happened because of sburb don't happen either, but the alternian society is relatively unchanged. i dont actually know.. what.. karkat does.. like i cant figure out why he wouldnt be culled but it doesnt really matter i just wanted to draw him looking cool! (i am. open to hear about speculation if you have any). also i figured that Kanaya would go to the brooding caverns after her lusus dies, bc the wiki said her lusus would die regardless of the game taking place n whatever, and probaly do something with the matriorb there idk. thats all tho! ill prolly draw them more and maybe develop more lore as i do ^^;

also! fun fact. i was having trouble designing kk's outfit so i looked in an old antiques catalog book from the internet archive to get inspiration from objects that had the same colors as those that i wanted to use in his design? not sure why i did that. just had a hunch that it would be fun. so this is the object i found that strangely enough inspired kk's fit

haha.. and i also found one for nepeta, though it was easier to design her fit and i didnt actually need a reference object
