Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
It had been a few days since she was cleared of all illness and released from the empty. she still wasn’t operating at 100% though and it would take some time to build up the energy that she lost so she’d taken some time off from work. of course, the illness had hit her at the worst possible time: gabriel’s birthday. so, she wanted to make it up to him. she couldn’t do anything too big or anything that required too much exertion, but she figured a picnic at his favorite spot in eden would be nice. the ancient garden even helped her plan it a bit by spreading the word so that a few of their woodland friends would stop by. andy moved aside the sweeping curtain of one of the willow trees as they reached the spot and grinned. “tadaaaa!” she stepped aside to show him the picnic set up. “happy birthday, pony boy.”
Mark Darrah's recent YouTube video 'Why Do AAA Games Take So Long?' is an interesting and insightful look behind the curtain about this aspect of modern game development and the industry: [link]

Mark: "What's the longest you've waited for a game? What's a game that you're waiting for that's coming out this year, and is it Dragon Age?"
---
Comment on the vid: "3:03 so you're saying that the reason why DA4 was announced the month before Anthem shipped was so EA couldn't do anything bad to the studio without breaking a promise made to the Dragon Age community? ^^"
Mark: "I'm not NOT saying that."
Comment: "I have definitely been waiting patiently for Dragon Age: the Veilguard."
Mark: "BioWare is definitely pulling out all the stops."
Comment: "Another reason for very early announcements I've heard talked about (beyond messaging shareholders) is recruitment drive. Do you think it's a plausible reason?"
Mark: "Yes this is real. We need to be able to tell people they are going to be working on Dragon Age, so we need to announce"
Comment: "At least for DAV, I bet it is the change of gameplay, live service, no live service, open world, no open world. Rpg with action elements then Action game. Seems then leadership change is more interesting than the game itself."
Mark: "There is a story here"
Comment: "i think Dragon Age would've been out a few years ago if the team worked on Dreadwolf from the beginning instead of all the other canceled visions of the project"
Mark: "There are several off ramps for DA"
Comment: "The Mass Effect game following Andromeda will likely end up being the longest wait I’ve ever had for a video game lol"
Mark: "It will be a while"
Comment: "Can you explain why they changed the combat in DAV"
Mark: "DA has always been changing its combat."
Mark: "Almost everyone at BioWare is working on DA ATM"
Comment: "Games are made quickly but then consultants like Sweet Baby Inc come and change the story to be worse and characters to be uglier. Adds plenty of dev time."

This is part two of my first lookbook for Alina Starkov from the Grishaverse series. This lookbook was so much fun to make and I cannot wait to continue with the other characters. Part two covers party through cold weather categories. If I made a mistake with attributing the custom content, please let me know. You can find the credits under the cut. ♡
In spirit of the Percy Jackson series’ first season coming to an end, I figured it was time to share some knowledge about a very famous constellation that you may or may not have heard of, named the Perseus constellation.
First, it may be appropriate to explain the story of Perseus, the mythical hero. I say this because a lot of the foundations of mathematics and metaphysics come from the work of Greek mathematicians and philosophers, so to explain some of his story is the least I can do to give it some justice.
Perseus, the Greek hero
The King Acrisius of Argos, disappointed in the fact that he didn’t have a son, consulted the Oracle at Delphi. He was warned that he’d be killed by his own grandson, and in fear of his own life, he imprisoned his only daughter, Danaë, in the courtyard of his palace. Despite this, she found herself with child eventually, as a result of Zeus himself falling in love with her. Deciding to visit her in the form of golden rain, she fell pregnant, eventually birthing a baby boy whom she named Perseus.
His most famous story, perhaps, may be the fact he was the one to slay Medusa. Polydectes, the ruler of the island of Seriphos, came to fall in love with Danaë. Perseus deemed him unfit for his mother, and, angry, Polydectes schemed to have Perseus sent away. In short, Perseus didn’t bring the correct gift to a large banquet held by Polydectes, so the former asked him to name any gift, and he’d bring it. The gift named was no other than the head of Medusa.
With the help of Zeus, Hermes, and Athena following a prayer to the gods (or the Hesperides in other versions), he was gifted with various items to help in his quest, like a pair of winged sandals, Hades’ helm of darkness, and Athena’s polished shield. With Athena’s guidance, Perseus was able to slay Medusa and take her head with him in a knapsack.
The final detail in Perseus’ story I find worthy of mention is his marriage.
Queen Cassiopeia of Aethiopia had once boasted that her daughter, Andromeda, was more beautiful than the Nereids (sea nymphs). This drew the vengeance of Poseidon, who set a upon the land a sea serpent.
Andromeda was tied to a rock on the shore, but Perseus was quick to come along and slay Cetus, the serpent, using the harp given to him by Hermes. Perseus and Andromeda were married soon after, and following her death, Athena hung her among the Perseus and Cassiopeia constellations in the sky.
How romantic.
Perseus’ location, surroundings, and features
Of all the constellations in the sky, Perseus is the 24th largest, occupying an area of approximately 615 square degrees. It’s within the first quadrant of the northern hemisphere, and its neighbouring constellations are Andromeda, as aforementioned, Aries, Cassiopeia, Taurus, and Triangulum.
There are also two meteor showers associated with Perseus, the Perseids (which should be visible in July-August of this year), and the September Perseids.
The International Astronomical Union approved of eight names for eight stars within the constellation. They are: Algol, Atik, Berehinya, Menkib, Miram, Mirfak, Misam, and Muspelheim.
Finding Perseus
Here’s the image from earlier again. Though you may only be seeing a cluster of stars at first, you’ll quickly realise there are some distinct shapes within this, shapes you’ll recognise across all images of the constellation. This image is a ground image found on the Hubble website.
Most notably within the constellation is the shape of a tilted stickman poised to strike, at least that’s how I’m seeing it.
You can find the full-size image here—it’s beautiful, I couldn’t show it here, since the file size is too large.

I'm a little late, but in my defense I was preparing THIS, and since it's my first REAL game music video it took me a while to put it together, but I have to say I'm satisfied with the result. I've been wanting to make a video like this for a long time. All those GB of recordings from the PlayStation weren't in vain. 🥹
Here are your HP Shipuary 2023 prompts for each day in the month of February! This year we have TWO ways for you to take on this challenge:
Pick a Ship! We will provide you with a Het, Slash, and Femslash ship for each day. You only need to create works for 1 of the 3 ships listed. (i.e. Hermione/Sirius • Dean/Graham • Bellatrix/Luna)
BYO (Build Your Own) Ship! We will provide one Male and one Female character (canonically) for each day. Create your own ship utilizing at least 1 of that day's characters! (i.e. Percy Weasley • Luna Lovegood)
Remember: you do NOT have to create work for each day! If the listed ship(s) or character(s) aren't for you, feel free to skip them!
We look forward to everything you create! 💕

Another 60 degree day to take advantage of. Took out the andromeda bushes today and planted some Lenten roses and bleeding hearts.
First picture- the new variety, Mother of the Bride (not blooming) is in front of the black flowers.
Second picture - the three new plants are on the left. Glenda’s gloss is the tall one on the far left. Pink Frost is to its right in the back. And Wedding Party “Flower Girl” is in the front with no flowers yet. They aren’t planted as close together as they look - the tall one’s just flopping over the others at the moment.
The three bleeding hearts aren't much to look at yet, but starting from the bottom left and going clockwise around the triangle: Ruby Gold, Yellow Leaf (pink), and Amore Rose.

2022 WRAP UP: Games played this year - useless recs list (with small review, and in vague order of my personal enjoyment):
01. Enderal: It climbed up to become one of my favourite games ever. I played it twice in a row (still finishing the second playthrough), really enjoyed the story, fell in love with the characters and definitely cried. I am reading the novel now.
02. Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous: I love this series of games, Kingmaker is still my favourite, but I loved the story of Wrath so much more. The mystery, the paths, the customizations! The only thing I missed was romance, I still have to find a romance I like and reply is hard because of how long the game is.
03. The Forgotten City: Beautiful adventure game recommended by lairofsentinel, great (basically) detective story. Interesting characters and definitely had a lot of fun trying to find out what the hell was going on.
04. Mass Effect Andromeda: For all the bad rep this game gets, I expected worse? I actually really really enjoy it. The story was nothing too exciting, and many quests were just fetch quests, but I still liked the characters a lot. The feeling of found family? Yes please. Jaal romance? Bring it on.
05. Gamedec: Among the new games that came out in recent years, this has to be one of my favs. The overall story was quite interesting, and the investigation really makes you feel like a detective. My only criticism is that there is little to no customization as by the end of the game you end up levelling up all skills, basically. Still enjoyable and good characters too.
06. Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest: I am at the very last mission. This game is adorable, even if the rpg element is a bit linear. I think, from what I understand, the dialogue choices do not have much impact. Basically, only the romance choice change the plot. Still, the art is very beautiful, the companions lovely and they are also all voiced. The plot was nothing special tho, kinda boring, but I had fun playing minimal Age of Empire tactics alongside the fighting.
07. Hatoful Boyfriend: WHAT TO SAY - this game is a big joke - not in a bad way, just in a "oh my god what am I playing" way. I would definitely recommend it. Do not take the romances seriously, the characters are just parody of usual visual novel romances - but the murder mystery is so eery and absurd!
08. Ash of Gods: I think this game is the better version of Banner Saga. The characters feels more like characters, and the story is a bit less linear and even if sometimes confusing, still enjoyable. For personal enjoyment, I would choose this over other games most times - and I did, I played it three times in a row. I am liking some of the characters so much that I am actually thinking of writing fanfics.
09. Tower of Time: If the ending had been different, this game would be in the top 3. I really enjoyed the plot, the mystery, the way you can explore this fantastical tower - the orcs!! I loved the orcs subplot! But it all comes to a big nothing that left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. So - well, fun but disappointing.
10. Boyfriend Dungeon: HEAR ME OUT - this game is a visual novel with hack and slash fighting. The visual novel part is a bit... meh, and the plot is kind of absurd, but I enjoyed the idea of increasing your romance with character by using them to fight. In general I actually enjoyed it even if I won't ever play it again.
11. The Banner Saga: Interesting story, that gets a bit better the more you play. Some characters are pretty good - but generally they are not the main driver of this game. Still, I liked the gameplay enough that I will probably play 2nd and 3rd, even if the plot really did not leave a big impression on me... I barely remember it.
12. The Talos Principle: This game is amazing. The story is so well crafted... my problem is that I am bad at puzzles and easily frustrated. If you like puzzle games, I recommend this one because discovering the plot/lore of the world is amazing.
13. Hades: Okay, this game is great, just not for me. I am not a fan of hack and slash, and I get frustrated pretty easily, so playing the full game multiple times to reach the ending - it gets boring a bit too easily for me.
14. Black Geyser: A classic isometric rpg. I really did want to like it, but somehow... the plot is okay, but the characters are so flat. I felt no real connection to any of them, even the companions who join you end up joining you in such random ways and the ending seemed abrupt. Still if you want an isometric game to play, go for it.
15. Gods will be watching: I am still playing this one and I am eternally confused. The plot is quite interesting and the way the playthrough is incorporated is too, but it also looks quite random - as in there is no exact rule on how to pass every level, but a big level of randomization.
16. A golden wake: I love Wadjet Eye Games and A Golden Wake was one of their older ones that I wanted to play. It was a nice good combination of puzzle and characters, but I did not enjoy the setting too much. I won't probably replay it.
17. Seven: I just started it so I have no opinion yet - a part for the fact that I am somehow very bad at it!
19. Starfighter Eclipse: This is a very very short visual novel/dating sim - the plot is minimal and the romances non existent. It is basically a very short predictable event that allow you to get sex scenes in cut scenes and that is it.
Other games played from Itch.io and in random order:
Brassica: A Marry Tale: Cute AMAZING visual novel, with wlw and mlm content. Unfortunately it is unfinished... but it will be finished! I will wait for the next chapters.
One Night Stand: HORRIBLE. I HATE this game with a passion, because everything in this game seemed to led to crime (you wake up from a one night stand and can't remember anything, and the consent was so iffy, but somehow the game is supposed to be about humans connecting??)
Speed Dating for Ghosts: Beautiful small indie game about meeting different ghosts and going on "dates", mainly dealing with their deaths. I cried at least three times.
A Short Hike: Currently one of my favourite non rpg games. This game was beautiful and so calming. I loved everything about it, and cried a couple of times too. There is so much humor too. I definitely recommend it.
Overland: Fun game where you have to escape zombies. Sad that the characters are not really characters
Arcade Spirits: I am still playing this, sadly I am not big on visual novels. The characters are all interesting so I might try to finish this one.
The corner of SHAME: Games I never finished and never will (maybe).
Greedfall - this game is one of the most boring well packaged game I have ever played
Hard West - I did not even... understand the plot
Stardew Valley - not for me
Wasteland 2 - I expected something completely different and was disappointed
Fallout New Vegas - I will definitely play it because of the great recs, but I usually do not like action games of this type
Danganronpa Happy Trigger Havoc - not for me
Born on a cold morning and named in the Black tradition of myth and stars, Andromeda's very first breaths resounded loudly through the walls of her ancestral home –eerily similar to those of her namesake, desperate and pained while bound to that infernal stone, and in a way, she was trapped too. The secondborn daughter to an heirless father, another disappointment, she should have been, yet she still somehow managed to win his favor. Cygnus Black was quickly enamoured by his newborn daughter's blue eyes and toothless smile. Having at least one loving parent out of two was already a victory.
Proper, spoiled, educated, entitled. Those were just some of the words Andromeda slowly but surely grew up to be. Mother always said she would expect only the best from her, Father always said she should always expect only the best from the world, and both gave the same answer when she asked why. Because you are a Black. But, if she had to be honest, 6 year old Andromeda didn't truly understand what her name had to do with anything.
She learned, though, in the following years. Along with her sisters, she learned what it meant to be a daughter of her house. What it meant to bear the name Black and what was expected of her by her noble, ancient, and, most importantly, pure lineage. And even if she wasn't as strong, as skilled, or as beautiful, she was enough. She was a Black.
When time came she arrived to Hogwarts, fully aware of her worth, both giving and expecting only the best, just as she had been told she should. And though there was little of the respect and reverence she was told she deserved only by virtue of her name –most Slytherins sure did stare in awe at yet another member of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, but there were three other houses that turn their eyes and sneer at her and her housemates–, she still kept her head high with the pride her father had ingrained in her mind and did her best to pay them no mind.
Still, one can only ignore the whispers behind one's back for so long. Mother always said that, while a lady did her best while in silence, she should never stop listening. Andromeda kept that in mind when she started paying attention to the words people said about her and her family when they though she was not around. It did hurt, everything they said and the words they used to describe her kin. But it was the fact that, after hearing past the not so hidden insults, Andromeda was starting to find truth in their words, ended up hurting more.
Standing behind one's ideals required courage, Andromeda found out when she finally made her mind that all she had been taught about worthiness and purity could not be true. But she had never been particularly brave, maybe that was why she too sported the green and silver of her sisters and parents rather than the red and gold of her little cousin. So, yet again, she kept silent. She gripped her cup tighter during family reunions when aunt Walburga spewed out her bigotry, bit her cheek when Mother reminded her of her duty to marry a respectable pureblood man, lowered her head when Father declared their superiority over others. No, Andromeda had never been the brave kind.
School ended and the next she was expected to do was to follow in her mother's footsteps. Marry a proper pureblood husband, be a proper pureblood wife, and have proper pureblood children. It was just what was done, and Andromeda had her first surge of courage when she defied it. Ambition was a big part of who she was, and she had the ambition to do more. It wasn’t easy, but she convinced her parents to allow her to become a healer, all on the condition that once her training was done she would accept aarranged betrothal. Andromeda knew a compromise was better than nothing, so she said yes.
Life, however, seldom cares for the plans one makes, and not long after she initially started her training she became reacquainted with someone she had thought she had left in the past. Ted walked into her life again and there was nothing she could do to ignore him or walk away.
Love is a woman's downfall, Mother used to say, and though Andromeda didn't like it, it seemed she had been right. It was love that put her in an impossible position; bound to the stone of the only life she had ever known by the chains of her love to her family, and desperately struggling to free herself despite the pain and fear that came with it. Andromeda was no hero, she was not brave, but the life growing inside her demanded for her to be. This time, Andromeda didn't wait for Perseus to free her. She pulled on her chains and left the stone, broken and hurting, and ran to him.
