i don't know how to be concise so bare with me if i ramble too much please !

i'm going to assume you know how to gif already bc i'm mostly going to explain how i use adjustment layers. but i listed the softwares i'm using here + links to gifmaking masterposts !

the process™️details under the cut :

the obvious answer would be to use high quality videos for hd gifs but i work with lq or faux hq videos all the time, so it's all about faking it ngl... my goal is to have a good contrast and full blacks.

tl;dr : play with sharpening settings, boost your black with curves/levels/selective colour, flatten&brighten then fix the contrast, exposure and voila !

also, make sure your monitor / laptop screen is probably calibrated bc i've had bad surprises lol

FOR SHARPENING :

unsharp mask -> my go-to settings are 30/30, 40/20 or 60/10. i adjust the amount/radius depending on gifsize and subject size. holy grail, it WILL add depth and dimension to your gifs just trust.

smart sharpen -> usual amount/radius : 10/10, 30/20 or 40/10. highlights are very sensitive to this one so i adjust accordingly.

smart sharpen -> for finer details, i do 500/0.3 in general, but for some fancams i put through vapoursynth 300/0.3 is less harsh

noise (optional) -> uniform > 1,5-3%. sometimes you just need texture to fake good quality lol, adding noise to flat lq gifs does magic. would also recommend if you use gradients but don't like the "smooth look". the only downside is that it makes your file larger. and i never add noise to fancams.

high pass (optional) : radius 2-5 > 30% opacity > soft light ; if you want a glowy finish, this is your filter. if i use unsharp mask i dont do high pass tho, it's just too much...

FOR COLOURING

how i use adjusment layers for contrast and depth, no particular order, i freestyle it 90% of the time :

curves/levels : use black and white points mostly, pretty intuitive to use. recently my default values in levels are (0 ; 1,27 ; 230) in rgb. both to brighten and fix contrast. i can use up to 3 of each on a single gif ngl bc do this in increments to avoid something too harsh.

channel mixers : not particularly relevant to the depth/hd thingie but it does perform witchcraft to remove tinted filters. HOWEVER, sometimes you look at your gif and you wonder why it's flat and it's because the dominant colour of your gif is tinting the rest, channel mixers is here to bring back balance and dimension !

colour balance : same reasoning as channel mixers, i try not to touch midtones and focus on highlights/shadows, but i like cold toned gifs so i'll always add some blues/cyan in there

selective colour - the star of my show, i use it 1) for colour manipulation, 2) tame harsh lights, 3) undo whitewashing -> for 2&3 i set sc to multiply > set black values to black in all tabs except white and neutral > adjust white and neutrals until i get a neutral skin colour or natural lighting, and/or good contrast. , 4) boost the blacks (2nd to last layer), +10 black values in black tab, sometimes i also add +5 black to neutrals

exposure (last layer) : the final pop, up to +0,60 ; sometimes i go with a layer mask to only target the subject/faces. sometimes i also adjust the gamma value but not often

black and white gradient map : also good for contrast, it will also reduce the number of colours on your base gif. if you have a super saturated original gif with heavy contrast this is v nice to play with to fix that

a tip specific to colourful gifs : if you're transition from vastly opposite colours, do it in increments, and have a solid colour layer of your dominant colour somewhere set to soft light or overlay (or both) on a 20-40% opacity to uniformize all that good stuff and make the blending look natural, it will prevent your gif from looking flat or hazy trust me. sometimes i also do this with a either colour balance shadows or a selective layer set to hue/color.

FOR EXPORTING

if you're working with timeline, say goodbye to exporting directecly from tl and reopening to fix the frame delay bc it causes quality loss. instead, flatten back to frames and reset the frame delay before exporting, that will save you headaches and time. -> here's a link to an action for this !

my preferred combo is adaptive/pattern

You try not to pry in your roommates' businesses too much.

His brother interrupted and rolled his eyes. "He overdid it with his pranks and ruined his dresser. Again. That's what happened."

Sounds about right, as the bookworm hadn't needed to wash his clothes as badly as his goofy brother did. You nodded, accepting his explanation. "Ah, okay, as long as the dyes will come out—oh!" You jumped when your machine dinged and confirmed finished. "'bout dang time." Your clothes tossed into one of the closest dryers.

You quickly inserted all of your remaining quarters and cursed when you saw you were a few coins short. "Dammit, gonna get more coins. I'll be right back, guys." Peering back to your roomies, you inquired. "You good on your twenty-five's?"

Both brothers waved you off. "We're good."

- u took a peak at the movie posters nearby and saw one that caught ur eye and you were like. that one.

Hi! Your posts convinced me to get Rain World on my switch and I was wondering if you have any tips or advice for the game?

Okay, like, other than the tutorial you'll see in the beginning of the game and tips on general experience? so basically if you see noodle flies you can eat those small ones that you can pick up, they buz around and look like usually pink red black or grey noodles, however if there's multiple and not just one that usually means there's a mother somewhere that's probably gonna enter the room soon, if that's the case don't pick up or throw a spear at the noodle fly babies or they'll make a noot noot sound and then the mother will fly in and try to attack you, their movement is super fast especially for beginners to keep up with so I suggest not messing with them till you learn more advanced movement, scavengers love pearls but don't like you passing by their post things without paying them one pearl so it always helps to carry a pearl in your storage pouch in emergencies, scav toles/ posts/ whatever you'd like to call them usually have a raindeer skull with pearls hanging from its antlers, don't take them unless you're able to fight anywhere from 4 to 10 scavengers, who are also able to hold and throw spears back, they're mostly (unless in hard mode) neutral otherwise tho, and are kinda cute and have a bunch of cool different color variations :]

I probably would go on and on about how to get lizards tamed and lore pearls and arenas but I think it is best you get to the tutorial videos for that before I fill up this entire thing with all that lol, one amazingly helpful video I suggest is a video called something like "rainworld: how to move like a ninja" it's an advanced movement guide that teaches ways to move way faster and improve your overall gameplay experience :] there's also some speedrun videos I used to watch to find the path to important parts of the game but those can sometimes be around a half hour long depending on which mode they play in so you should probably just look at a map or something online 💀 there's also videos for arena unlock locations, lore pearl locations, and even a whole hour/ half hour long lore video I watched once, worth it tbh strange stuff going on in the background and it makes me want to make my lore for future comics more insane just to pay tribute lmao 💀

38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)?

I would saaaay maybe between a 4 and a 6? i write mainly on my phone, if that counts! i know a couple other people who do now, tho hahaha.

Basically, i have a notepad app on my phone, i will start there, and sometimes return there, many many times. i never ever start at the beginning or if i do, it's rarely. i'll kinda write in chunks at a time, and then try to go back and fill it in as i go. once i get to a point of abt 3k(ish) i tend to prop up my phone next to me, open a doc on my computer, and type everything there, change stuff around, rework, and sometimes add a bunch! then, if i'm STILL not done, i will put it all back on my phone, and continue writing the next part, and then i'll rewrite the WHOLE thing on a doc (this is usually where my errors come from because i'm a very fast typer but my hands can't keep up with my brain!) and if it is DONE i will dump it into an ao3 draft, where, if it has pesterlogs, i will go through and add the necessary html for, since i use skins!

i also tend to mostly write at night, so sometimes my work will be completely incomprehensible and i'll have to like, decipher it the next day LOL

so hopefully it is not THAT chaotic

39. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

funnily enough it is the same thing i used to be super self-conscious about (and still am, sometimes!) but i generally pride myself on character voice! it is SO rewarding when someone comments about it, since it can be a huge struggle as a fanfiction writer, taking someone else's characters, and also just in general bc i juggle so many different versions of arguably the same guys, so when someone mentions it, it makes me really, really happy!

we didn’t go to Disney parks cuz that shit was 1000 miles away or 2700 miles away or on another fuckin continent depending on the park. and even if we’d ahd th emoney to get there them hotels are pretty pricey. and also we had fuckin WB/DC themed Six Flags Great Adventure like 25 miles away + the school district usually got you a like $5 field trip to ride all the coasters and shit so long as you did really basic homework questions that were supposed to teach you about physics or smth.

we had basically all the Disney cartoons on VHS but most of those we got from relatives, and some of them we had as home copies dubbed off their own tapes rather than an official copy lol. and basically none of the live action stuff cuz it was boring.

we had a sizable amount of merch for like the basic disney characters but those tended to be on special occasions or like a friend of the family would slip my parents some money to get that stuff, and we basically stopped getting any at all once the disney store in the local mall went out of business pretty early  and my mom didn’t want to drive to other malls just for that stuff lol.

the one and only time i went to disneyworld was as part of a weeklong high school senior trip that cost on the order of $80 for me as part of a big group tour thing with the airfare and sharing a hotel room with 3 other students (that part wasn’t super great but it was fine).... and i spent most of that trip reading ebooks especially cory doctorow’s book about a far future disneyworld and like, using up my 3 free entries to the extra cost attractions on going to the giant arcade that was full of free play arcade games (which ruled, but they tore that shit down since I was there), watching fuckin monty python on the hotel tv cuz there was some channel there that was running a ton all week, and then going to like all the coolest old EPCOT shit that hadn’t yet been torn down but is torn down now. most of the rest of the place had ridiculous lines for pretty short and tame rides that I could get back home at the low-cost century old amusement parks which there was plenty of around and tho i hit most of the major name attractions it got pretty tiring to put up.

plus the last day of the trip we had all our baggage packe dup and sent off to the airport to be loaded on the flight in the morning and then we spent the next 8 days at universal studios which was like, way cooler and better rides and even just places to hang out at? and the lines were all way more reasonable, it was actually like feasible to do shit like ride the nice coasters multiple times. it put basically everything at Disneyworld that isn’t dead/removed now in pretty sharp contrast in terms of entertainment value!

oh and also I shoplifted like thousands of dollars in merch and electronics from disneyworld and surrounding attractions, eminently stealable stuff then. i still use some of the expensive compactflash cards i looted in my old gear. good thing florida can’t fuckin touch me cuz the statute of limitations ran out haha fuckers. really came out ahead on that trip!

Okay, so here’s how Wintercon went today... This is long so I’m putting it under a “keep reading”.

My brother came with me even tho he hasn’t watched Farscape in like 15 years lol. We got lost in the casino going in because it’s huge af and there are no signs for the convention inside. but anyway, we finally found it and we looked for the autograph table first. we found it all the way at the back and everyone was at their tables except for Ben and Lani (who had walked past us as we were going in). Also Virginia Hey was supposed to be there but she wasn’t so idk what happened. Anyway, since you had to pay to get an autograph or picture with each one of them, I decided I wanted to get a picture with Ben. Anyway, me and my brother loitered a little bit, seeing if Ben would come back. he didn’t, so we looked around the convention a bit, and my brother saw the actor who played Atreyu in Neverending Story and wanted to take a pic with him but had zero money. there weren’t a lot of people at the Neverending Story table, so he probably could have just gone up to say hi but I guess he chickened out lol. Then we went back to the Farscape autograph table, and everyone was gone except Rockne. Then we saw a sign that said “Be back at 2 PM”. by that time is was about 12:30 so we decided to go to the food court and have lunch. Then we went back in and wandered around a little bit, and I think this was when we saw Ben walk past us. Or I did but my brother didn’t notice him. but anyway, it was a pretty small convention so it didn’t take long to see everything. So we went to chill out by the autograph table, and some more people were coming over after a while and we realized they were getting in line already. So even though we had been there first, the line started forming next to us, so we had to get at the end. It turned out that there were a bunch of people in line who had red tickets bc they had been waiting in line earlier but didn’t get to see Ben and/or Claudia before they had their break. So they went in a separate line so they could go first and then me and my brother were only behind like 6 people in the regular line, and 4 of them were in a group together. Gigi, Anthony, and Lani came back on time at around 2, but for some reason Ben and Claudia didn’t get back until like 2:30. The panel was at 4, so the organizers were talking to each other about getting people through the line quick. the lines for Ben and Claudia were really long. Gigi, Anthony, and Lani didn’t have people lined up to see them, but they each did have a lot of people go up and talk to them.  Anyway, when Ben came out, oh my gosh, pictures just don’t do him justice. He’s a beautiful man. And he’s taller than I thought (I met him in 2001 but he was sitting at the autograph table), and he really is built like a football player. He has broad shoulders and for some reason that’s not noticeable on tv. Also, the beard is back but it’s much more tame than it had been at Dragoncon. lol. Anyway, me and my brother were really close to the front of the regular line so we got to just watch him interacting with people until it was our turn. 😍

Anyway, so when you get up to the table, there’s someone with the con at the table with each actor and you tell them whether you want an autograph or a picture. Since I already met him and got an autograph 18 years ago, I wanted to take a selfie with him. So anyway he stood up when he was told I wanted a selfie and he’s so tall (he seemed like 6′1″ to me- so not super tall and def not as tall as Anthony Simcoe, but anyone who’s taller than me I think of as tall because I’m 5′11″). And he started walking around the table and i accidentally kicked his foot but he didn’t notice it. haha. So anyway we said hi to each other and he took my phone and put his arm around me so i put my hand on his back and he took like 3 selfies of us, and then he was like, “Let’s do an ugly one” and he held my phone down low and angled up at our faces. lol. When he started walking back to go behind the table again, I told him how I recently rewatched Farscape for the first time since it originally aired (I didn’t tell him I watched it 3 times in a row since April, though haha). So, he stayed standing and I told him about how it was a very different experience watching the show in my 30s than it was watching it when i was around 19. And he was standing and listening to me intently and I was gazing into his blue eyes, and anyway, he said “was it better when you were nineteen or in your thirties?” So I was like, “Oh better in my 30s.” And he was like, “yeah, it’s really profound”, I guess meaning that it’s got a depth to it that you can’t really understand until you’re older. So then I had taken up too much time so he sat down and shook my hand and said thanks, and then we left. There had been more stuff I wanted to say to him, but they were in such a rush to get everyone through the line that I’m lucky I got to say as much as I did. Idk what my brother was doing in that time because he didn’t have money for a selfie or autograph, but he came up with me anyway but didn’t actually talk to Ben? lol.

By that time it was after 3, and by 3:30 we went over to the seats in front of the main stage and waited for the panel to start. There weren’t any seats left, so we stood off to the side and while I would have liked to be a little closer, it was actually a great spot to see and to be able to take photos and videos. I’ll post the videos later in an edit, but anyway, the panel was only an hour long. I wish it could have been longer. I felt like Rockne, Anthony, Gigi and Lani did most of the talking. Ben was able to talk a few times, and Claudia didn’t say a ton until near the end. It was still a really good panel and the audience questions weren’t cringey like they usually are.

So anyway, that’s it. It was a fun day and I’m so happy that i went both to the panel and to get a selfie with Ben.

Randomly thinking some more about that old game idea of mine that i just call Dark Pokemon for now, lol

Basically a monster catching game where they're treated as monsters? Normal people are all terrified of them and trainers get treated with a 50/50 mix of reverence and hatred. Because trainers are the only way that humans can try and exterminate the monsters, yet theyre seen as cursed people who dont even count as human anymore. Sort of a way to explain little cliches of the genre like kids being thrown out completely alone to travel the world, and you never really having any reason to revisit past towns after you beat the gym. I was thinking itd be a cool way to do it if the game started off seeming like a normal mon catching game and then before you get the big reveal of the darkness you can get subtle hints if you try and turn around and reenter the starting area. Because it goes against expectations it might be missed by a lot of players.

Also the towns are so small and the routes are so straight and narrow because thats how humanity builds society in a world of monster fear. 90% of the world is uninhabited wilderness where only monsters live. Human towns are sorta like sci fi dome cities without the scifi? Surrounded by protective salt barriers and charms and stuff. And if a monster even touches anything its considered cursed, so if one of them makes it past a salt barrier that town is abandoned and any people caught up in the chaos of the barrier's collapse are left to die just in case they've been corrupted. And the roads between the towns are manned by armed guards who are constantly vigilant to repair the salt barriers. But this means they have to live their entire life alone in these limbo spaces between society and the wild, and often most narrier breaches are caused by the guards getting paranoid from the pressure. You need to keep watch for monsters so any movement in the shadows could be one of them, right?? You get situations of roads being blocked off by some crazed guard who starts seeing people as monsters, or one of them pulling the alarm and getting a town falsely burnt down for being corrupted when the monster was really just a leaf blowing in the wind. Or the worst case scenario where nobody ever knows WHAT happened! You just find the road destroyed and the guard gone. It might have happened days ago and nobody knew until a merchant tries to travel between towns and discovers the only road of escape is gone and everyone is doomed to slow starvation. And you can still see the other end of the road just a few meters away, but the superstition is so strong that nobody will risk taking that single step into monster territory. You'll be cursed and that's worse than death, right? You don't want to turn into a trainer...

And then also nobody really knows what determines who's chosen to be a trainer. Inevitably whenever someone shows signs of powers the town will turn on them and make up any excuse that they somehow invited the curse by being promoscuous or athiest or something. And you need to be removed for everyone's safety! Thus begins the ten year old's journey walking the earth in search of a place they can belong...

Tho usually its not just kids, the protagonist and rival is a rare case. All your neighbours are torn between 'its so tragic it happened to kids' and 'they must be REALLY evil to get chosen despite their age!' And i think maybe the rival would be like a sympathetic gary type? Theyre so determined to be better than you because they think if they can prove theyre good then their parents will let them go back home. And this desperation leads them to make bad choices and reject the only friend they have left :( Also them being bad to their monster pals would feel more justified when they were raised in a society that says monster pals are evil and you cant let your guard down cos theyre just trying to tempt you. Listen to the assholes who dont care about you, because anyone being nice is a lying sinner!

Also i was thinking maybe you catch monsters with a magic song or throwing herbs at them or absorbing them into a jewel pendant or something else more magicky yknow? Maybe magical bandages enscribed with spell runes that wrap arpund them like a collar? And so trainers are divided up into weavers who make these catching tools, and then the actual kind of trainer who uses them to catch mons. Weavers are able to stay in human society and act like the pokeball shops, theyre sorta like a 'town witch' or something. Like 'we will tolerate your magic if you never actually make a contract with a monster'. But then of course catching monsters is necessary to defend against monsters, so weavers have to be allowed to make the catching threads and sell them to travellers. But only travellers are allowed to do that sinful mon hugging! But also hey sinful traveller will you please save us from our doom? Basically this is why most trainers work as mercenaries, all this bullshit means that you gotta be employed by some asshole who hates your guts just cos u need food to eat. But blablabla town limit of X days before you have to leave, etc etc...

Also i was considering an element of different towns having different mythology around monsters and trainers? So you never really know whats real or if all of it is bullshit. Every time you go to a new place theyre equally fanatically convinced that some new thing is the real sin and everything the last guy said is eeeeeevil corruption. Sigh! And a subplot i was thinking of is a town with very sexist mythology, where the roles of weavers and tamers are seen as one gender only. And the town weaver is this nice grandma thats trapped in an abusive relationship with a super misogynist gramps. And one of those cloyingly fake-softspoken "rational" sexists who's all 'im just trying to protec u, wrong gender roles are bad for your immortal soul'. And has a million "logical" explanations for why his bigotry is true. Like technically he's "valuing her as important" by not letting her leave the house or socialize with friends, because yknow "im a nice guy who's nice to you trainers, i know your job is important so shouldnt the weavers be working 24/7 to support you?" The frustrating feeling of starting to trust a guy cos he's not bigoted against your particular minority, but then finding out he's bigoted against someone else... Ugh. So ultimately in the end you can succeed at this sidequest and help the grandma make a pact with a cute fairy monster and kick his ass and leave. And possibly get into a cute and mutually healthy relationship with another grandma in another town, so you get to see that and have a bonus happy note to the sidequest, yknow? Also they give you a hug and bake u cookies. (The monster is wearing a cute chef hat!) And then you'd have a place to stay in that town that doesnt have the 'it gets more expensive every night to try and make you leave' bullshit of all the normal inns. And you get to see a cute animation of your monsters all cuddled up in bed too cos they dont force you to leave them outside in the Designated Monster Containment Cage.

Oh! Also randomly i was thinking of another way of foreshadowing! Like when you go to the first inn you dont know any of this stuff about people hating monster tamers and not trusting your tamed mons even if theyre tame. So you'd probably just think that you not seeing your monsters when you sleep is just the game's limited graphics or you keep them in some pokeball equivelant thing. But when you walk arpund the outside of the inn you can see a door to a basement cellar that's got weirdly heavy duty chains and bars even if you assume they store their valuables down there. And maybe when you heal at the inn it never restores your mons to full health, always 10hp away from maximum or something? Or other small hints that theyre afraid of going to the inn and your protagonist is wary about doing it even if you'd think theres no downside to healing. Or maybe you can see another monster tamer visit the place at one point and you can hear banging and growling from the basement...? Or see some of the chains have bite marks in the morning. And the townsfolk wpuld be all 'can you believe how much noise they made?' and expressing fear about monsters being in the town, though itd have to be written carefully to remain vague. But yeah 'lets mistreat these small animals because we fear them' -> they panic and cry for their one human friend in the world while theyre forced to sleep in a damp dark tiny room -> 'that just proves theyre inherantly violent!' Also the trainer is an ungrateful bastard for acting so sullen when they couldnt sleep from worry over their friends :(

But it wont be all depressing yo!!! All the darkness of the setting is dark but the monster pals are still just as pals! I give u grimdark world so i can give u a protagonist of kindness who fights the system and saves people in every town who eventually rise up and are swayed by their kindness into fighting The Old Ways and making a better world as the story goes on! Its like an adventure of creating the pokemon world? You try and sell everyone on the idea of trusting cute monsters instead of being so damn paranoid you inflict all these atrocities upon other humans and even yourself because 'sacrifices are necessary to keep the monsters away'. Fight the symbol of all bigotry!!! The evil team is Team Bad Dads And Politicians!!!

Uh ok. Well, you asked and you shall receive - beware of a loooong post incoming lol. I could talk about RF for days and no one I know plays it so you’ve really opened the floodgates here haha

So full disclosure I’ve actually only had one rune factory spouse thus far and it was Doug! I got… a little too attached the first time I played (4 was my first rune factory game!) So I decided to try to complete the shipping list in my first save file (still have not accomplished that…) and played for just. Hours and hours and hours. And never actually got around to a second playthrough. When I first started, I had thought I might marry Vishal bc hes just so sweet but then Doug ended up stealing my heart (what can I say, hotheaded redheads/dwarves with a heart of gold and a tragic backstory are my weakness). So yeah, he’s definitely my favorite bachelor in 4. I also dont think it’s necessary for my enjoyment of a marriage option but I really liked how his whole deal was connected to the plot. I went into the game totally blind on the whole thing aside from having looked up the basic profiles on the bachelors/bachelorettes and I somehow didnt notice on my own so I had no idea that his FP was locked by story events until after the fact, but I loved how the plot was tied to him allowing himself to open up more. In a matter unrelated to the plot, and definitely dumbly cheesy, I found out about how some people had trouble with getting the random events and stuff required for marriage right around when I was getting ready to officially decide who to pick (tho it wasn’t a hard choice for me at that point) and I literally got all of Doug’s events so, so easily. I didn’t have to do any of the dreaded reloading tricks or anything, and even though I was also technically dating Vishnal and Arthur, Doug was the first one I got all the events for and the first marriage event to just happen naturally in-game, so I’d like to think it was just meant to be (lol). I’d love to someday play through as Lest as well and finally romance one of the girls, maybe Forte or Dolce… or Xiao Pai… these games have TOO MANY great characters in them I swear, it makes it hard to pick just one!

I have played a good portion of 3 as well, but I wanted to get everyones events done, esp the wooly reveal events, and I’ve just been so focused on other things, I guess, that I still havent finished it - heck, I havent touched it in like 7 months :( I should really do that actually… Anyways, 3 is going to be hard for me to pick a spouse bc, again, there are so many good characters. I think I’m leaning Raven not necessarily bc she’s my all around favorite but because weirdly I ship her the most with Micah? I’m not sure if that’s how you’re supposed to play these games but one thing I really value with the Rune Factory series in particular over, like, Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, is that the protags get to BE characters, and not just cardboard stand-ins!!! I know they’re mostly written fairly neutrally so you can play how you want, but they all *Definitely* have their own quirks and I absolutely love that. Theres certainly a time and a place for self inserts but honestly I personally tend to find myself more drawn into a game when the protagonists have their own stakes in the world besides I, The Player, Am Playing A Game In A Fantasy World That I Do With As I Please. Even if it’s just in what sort of dialogue choices you’re given or something, which HM/SV also dont really have as much of. (Cough unless the game in question is Animal Crossing. I guess they’ve really got me there. Cough) So, not that I dont like Raven in her own right, but I just really love their whole plotline together? RF3 does a really great job with character growth that, coming from someone seeing the series in reverse, I think RF4’s system of town events kind of mitigated, with the whole randomness factor meaning they couldnt link as many characters to any one overarching series of events. And I really love how Raven and Micah’s events go and i think ending them in romance is just super sweet. It should also be noted that I AM a sucker for a quiet-badass-who’s-sort-of-sassy-in-a-blink-and-you-miss-it-way x literal-sunshine-and-everyone-loves-them-and-they’re-always-in-everyones-business dynamic, for sure. As far as my actual favorite rf3 bachelorette, I think maybe Marian might take the cake? She’s so wacky and out there but her whole insecurity thing really touched me. That might change whichever way the wind is blowing on the day you ask me, though. To be quite honest with you, I fell hard for the whole town of Sharance and I could probably write essays on every single one of the marriage options in 3. Also though, I ended up shipping like all the bachelorettes with each other, sooo… my bad, Micah, my bad, lmao.

I also own Tides of Destiny, but my Wii started freaking out not long after I got it and I usually prefer to play handheld games anyway, so I started it but I never got too far. Someday I’ll play it. (I’m really hoping to get my hands on 2 sometime soon though because the idea of marriage rivals is SO up my alley - I’m sure it’s a pain to program but I wish more dating sims would do that!!! Maybe it’s just bc I’m someone who loves to ship just as much if not sometimes more than to see my own playable character have their romance play out, but I think it’s a super fun idea and makes the whole thing more grounded in the setting, that things can happen and relationships change outside of the protag’s involvement, too.)

So yeah. GREAT questions, my friend. I do love farming sims and non-NSFW dating sims in general and add onto that dungeon crawling and monster taming??? Plus it has a plot (even if it’s an albeit fairly simple one)?? Rune Factory really has it all, man. BUT if I’m being totally honest I think the best part of Rune Factory for me has always been the characters. I dont know how they manage to make the towns feel so alive and balance out all the personalities so well but they’ve really got it down. Maybe they have a secret formula somewhere… I’d love to see it :P

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that too. I guess the only explanation is that some part of Kaneki’s body is still human, since he IS an artificial ghoul. Though I have to wonder how Touka can be sure the kid needs human food….it seems she hasn’t told Ken or anybody else so she couldn’t have gotten advice/info about it, and though Touka’s no idiot it’s not like she’s an expert on biology.

I wonder if Ishida’s going to be like ‘lol sorry the kid’s basically full ghoul and Touka’s been poisoning it with human food in the womb’

Wow, it would actually be awesome if Eto adopted the kid and raised them to understand what it means to be a part of both the ghoul and human worlds! If she was planning to pass on the title of the OEK to the child but ended up growing too attached, giving them the childhood she never had and telling them that though she’s crowning them as the new 'King’ she wants them to truly live- “Bridge the gap between the two worlds, become a leader and a spark of hope for those who need it, but never lose sight of yourself and your happiness. Martyrdom doesn’t pay, you know?”- because their father, Kaneki, failed to do so and that was what ruined him.

I think the hair suits Chris Hemsworth pretty well (OTL I have sinned, forgive me Queen Luna) but it doesn’t suit Thor…? Idk. He doesn’t look like Thor anymore haha

Well, not exactly. Sharon’s still a pretty minor character but I think she had a lot of potential until that romance just killed it (I mean, she doesn’t have much of a personality, but she had one pretty cool scene in Civil War (before the Notp happened) that made me like her).

Oh, we’re actually pretty similar then! I mean, I have a few artists I could say I’m a fan of (Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Marina, Fall Out Boy) but most of the other songs I listen to are just chosen at random from all over the place.

If you liked Still Sane, though, I recommend Lorde’s new album (Melodrama)! It’s been years and she’s finally back :) there’s a song called 'Liability’ on the album that I really relate to and also reminds me of Kaneki ;-; I’ve also been obsessed with 'Perfect Places’ and 'Sober’ for a while now.

Oh my XD reading that reminded me of one of my older MCU characters who was pretty bad: it’s been a while so I’ve forgotten most of the details, but I remember she had a cat theme (her powers were probably something like enhanced agility??? and claws??? I think?) and was this super edgy anti-hero who shouldn’t even have been allowed to work with SHIELD in the first place but you know, terrible OC logic. She’d stand on top of buildings and make angsty speeches with her impractically long hair flowing in the wind…. and of course she had this intense love-hate relationship with Loki that was just full of unnecessary drama.

(Again, I don’t really remember much about my old OCs (conveniently forgot all my worst creations haha) so I’m just guessing here ^^;; I think this is mostly the sort of cringe-worthy stuff I came up with though)

Nara sounds cute! It’s admirable that she doesn’t get discouraged and tries her best even with guys like Yuuri and Phichit around :) I’d love Kya (that’s her name, right?) also seems really cool- her powers are a nice twist on the old 'communicating with/controlling animals’ thing :D

I actually learned to play Merry Go Round of Life on the piano a while ago and my teacher told me it was a waltz-like piece, so I should try to stay true to that (needless to say I failed miserably for quite a while haha). You’re right, it’d be lovely to see a couple dancing to it :)

I mean, yes, Kaneki is a half ghoul, but he’s more powerful than some full ghouls, not to mention his Rc levels are as high as a ghouls. I think that getting a Kakuja also ‘helped’ him to bridge the gap between half-ghoul and more or less-ghoul. However, since it is an incomplete Kakuja.

Oh wow, that’s certainly an interesting OC...  So, angsty catwoman in MCU? Sounds exactly like something I’d make, just with wolves instead of Cats (i had an unhealthy obsession with wolves (and werewolves!) when I was younger ;-;)

I recently remembered my Fairy Tail OC. You ready for it? Idk which one’s worse, this one or the FMA one ;-; A dragon slayer (which is already a very Sue trait), but she didn’t have one element. Oh no, she was the QUEEN dragon slayer, which meant she could use any element she wanted *nods head* See, that was my worst problem when making characters. I was more or less tame with looks and I tried to give them character flaws (but it usually made them endearing, whoops), yet I just had to give them powerful abilities or something.

Now that i think about it, I’m glad I never made an OC for TG. Now that would’ve been a show. Waddaya say we make the biggest, most sueish character we can think of?  Let’s see, to begin with, they would definitely have a chimera Kagune. Now, the most kagune a ghoul can poses, as far as we know, is 3, but why stop at that? The glorious character should definitely have all 4!

At one point, I stopped writing down my OC stuff. Now I’m very thankful about that, since it means I forgot most of it.

Aw, I’m glad you like the characters ^^ Honestly, as a writer, one of my first impulses when watching something is either to make an AU (for the show’s characters or for characters from other shows thrown into that situation) or to make an OC. So, Nara and Kya are one of the more recent ones.

Tatsuo is a magnificent bastard, if I’ve ever seen one. Seems like either the guy who’d immediately become my problematic fave or the character I can’t stand. Keep them coming huehuehue I definitely enjoy reading about other people’s OCs! I can’t wait to see Naomi! And feel free to send me other ones as well ^^

— first of all, jordan is an emo ass fuccQboi lol.. he’s always brooding off set tbh contemplating shit ‘n has trouble understanding the whole concept of monogamy rofl. the interns find his moody behavior sexy in that weird vampy way lmao but everyone who actually knows jordan thinks he needs 2 lighten the fuck up ‘n smile more cos his angsty shit can get tiring so fast

— noah fence but he’s like the worst person to talk to abt anything bcos half of the time if u try to get deep w/ him he’ll just walk away. he finds talkin abt stuff like that to be a waste of his time ‘n he hardly ever has the patience to indulge ppl abt them. this is why it’s so difficult for ppl to get an interview w/ him bc he hates small talk ‘n he also hates deep talk-- ok so he hates talking in general

— despite his unwillingness to rly converse w/ ppl, he’s kind of, in a strange way, charismatic like idk ... he’s super considerate when it comes down to it like he’ll hold the elevator doors for u if he sees u sprinting down the hallway, he’ll begrudgingly come 2 ur aid if someone is buggin u, and he is overall just lowkey a sweetheart. jordan doesn’t seem like the type of person to care abt the welfare of others but he’s actually extremely generous w/ his money and donates a good portion of it to lesser known charities in order to raise awareness for their causes

— jordan has never had a real long lasting relationship b4 bcos he always finds a way to sabotage himself lol, ‘n bcos of that, he is unsure if he’s even ... how u say... “boyfriend-material” rofl. he’s just allowed himself to fit the mold of a hollywood heartbreaker

— if u manage to earn jordan’s trust ‘n affection, u will also earn a v powerful ally . he’s a great friend ‘n once he opens up 2 u, u will see a much more simpler side to him than everyone else believes. ppl write him off as an unapproachable complexity but tbh he’s the most basic ass person to exist. he fukin loves pho, he watches dexter late into the night, has a poor diet which mostly consists of energy drinks and black coffee, and doesn’t know how to use a laundry machine. once yall r friends u can best bet on getting a call at 2 in the morning asking if u’ve read stephen king’s cujo...

— so jordan is an intellect deep down beyond all the emo “dont wanna talk about it” layers lol and craves a good book more than he does someone to sleep w/ (although the latter is always nice). i think bc ppl perceive him as a casanova who spends more time dressing himself than actually learning a thing or two-- he just lets ppl believe what they want. but my son loves 2 listen to NPR ‘n jazz more than go to a concert

— TW: DEATH family is a bit of a sore topic for jordan bcos when he graduated college at 21, his dad wanted him to take over at the hedge fund he owned. jordan tried for a year before deciding that it really wasn’t for him and that he wanted to go into the film industry instead. his dad took it p hard and had a stroke that he did not survive. his mother blamed his death on jordan and, as a result, he officially left the company and abandoned his family surname ‘price’ and went by a new name instead.

— the blow of losing his entire family and having to start new cost him his friends and social life as jordan spent the next two years following his dad’s death working harder than ever. he’d always been ambitious but with nothing to his name and everything to prove, he went above and beyond with his acting career so he could start his own legacy . but the grief of not just losing his dad but his whole fam has driven him 2 do some stupid things.. like getting into fights w/ paps ‘n rly rude ppl who have said some unsavory things to the girls he’d been seeing briefly

—  bcos of his devil-may-care attitude ‘n dangerous behavior, he’s a tabloid favorite since he’s always making headlines w/ what crazy stunt he just pulled off . he just nEEds a niCE PErsON TO TAME HIM OK HE’S TOO MUCH SOMEtIMES N HE NEEDS A GOOD PERsON TO BALANcE HIM OUT sMH!??!

— jordan may come off as a v serious and cutthroat actor but he’s a fuckin mess lowkey. he’s only friendly to the select few within his social circle and doesn’t rly care much for anybody else. ppl have called him selfish for the way he uses ppl to his advantage, but others have called him pragmatic. after all, one cant be faulted for knowing what they want in life and doing whatever possible to get it

— he’s always typecasted as the goofy sidekick or the frat brother who does dumb things-- so playing raleigh in university is a bit different from his usual range. he’s actually not used to playing someone who’s more along his own personality— what with the inability to maintain a relationship and whatnot— so this is a v personal experience for himself. although one would think that he’s a rather difficult person to work with given his aloof and apathetic attitude, he’s rly hard working ‘n more than willing to cooperate w/ everyone bc he loves the industry ‘n wants every project of his to succeed!! so esp. w/ uni and this new experience for him, he wants tru criticism from his peers ‘n will send those waves right back at them!

— ok lastly, he’s literally... just a baby inside of a grown man who wants 2 lov ‘n trust ppl the way he used to do b4 he was hurt?? (maybe a past ex who tragically broke his heart ‘n he never got over it? plot this w/ me lol) and he is kind of an idiot w/ emotions ‘n he means well ‘n sometimes he doesn’t communicate it effectively so be gentle w/ my son bcos he does want to be better!!!

Maybe don’t read if you know me irl? It might be a bit weird lol so proceed with caution.

I’ve been thinking about my body lately bc even tho I still don’t have a boyfriend and am not having sex, I wanna be ready if/when things happen.

But the thing is I have a twink body (and voice) and so anybody who is gonna be attracted to me would prob want like stereotypical twink stuff, aka a super shaven body.

I don’t really know what I want though... I’ve been slowly but surely shaving different parts of my body, starting with my armpits (which needed to be shaved and I was happy to do it) and now I’m moving to my croch.

And I just feel kinda weird about it. On some level I’m super ready to tame that beast, but on the other hand, I don’t really know how to fully go about it. But honestly that’s also something that needs to get done so I’ll keep on keepin on.

But what I’m really concerned about is my butt. Like, it’s incredibly hard to shave yourself, and I have lots of problems already with my ass that I don’t need cuts and infections on top. So do I get it waxed? I don’t fully feel comfortable going somewhere and just being like “hey! 1 asshole waxing please!” Also how would I pay for it? I feel like using cash is super sus and a pain, but my parents look at my credit card bill and I don’t need them seeing that I’m getting an ass waxing. Also, idk if I even want that for myself in the first place!

The main problem is I just don’t know what is standard for like normal gay people. In porn everyone is usually completely clean shaven, but obv porn is more ideal than a real representation of what sex is like.
