These itsy-bitsy A7 books are three copies of white queen, red heart and snow white, blood red by @ofgeography

One copy was for me, one was send as a gift to the author, and one is for Goose @imaginariumpress who is generously helping me with actually delivering author’s copies for Fanfiction Writer’s Appreciation Day this year.

🩸 The color scheme was right there in the prompt, so here are the bloody tiny books.

🩸 The covers are white cotton hand dyed/painted with red ink; the same ink was used to paint the edges (I wanted at least some bleed, and ink does that);

🩸 Title pages feature the dark forest and the dwarf caverns;

🩸 The fancy drop caps and the page numbers are bleeding. I really love this effect for vampire stories, it’s so extra!

🩸 But probably not as extra as typesetting the entire book in blackletter, but it felt appropriate for the dark fairy tale vibe the stories got going on.

I had a lot of fun with this project, and I really recommend checking out the stories if you somehow haven’t already!

Yeah I was wrong.

The most frustrating thing about being a Helluva Boss enjoyer is explicitly stating multiple times that I like show and then get called an anti and homophobic and media illiterate when I complain about the direction it has taken.

I LIKE the comedy

I LIKE the animation and artstyle

I LIKE the more serious plotlines like the government agents plot and the Cherubs plot

I LIKE the themes of friendship and found family

I even like most of the songs!

And ofc the voice cast slays every time

But just because your show has angst and tears and drama and sad music doesn't automatically make it "good".

Just because your characters are queer doesn't automatically make them good or well written characters

This fandom is so frustrating to deal with when you want to express your more nuanced takes of it

This is probably gonna be the last post I make about this subject and about Helluva Boss in general, this shit is too stupid to deal with

semi-plotted starter for @cataclysmus

　　　The whole situation was turning into a mess. Their original intentions to climb Zaude and stop Alexei's plans had escalated far beyond what any of them imagined. The fight itself hadn't been easy, even when it was nine vs one, Alexei had showed that the title of Commandant was more than for show but even he hadn't been prepared to witness the truth of Zaude's existance when the core shot power up into the skies —

Raven's grip on his weapon tightens as he stares up at the sky. It falls to pieces and opens gaping holes to a monster above, his allies watching in shock and awe themselves. The adephagos. It was real and it was never gone and to think that Zaude's blastia core had been a shield protecting their world.

That fool.

The blastia above their head starts to crackle and go out of control, sparkes fly in the air above their head. The group have to prepare to run but Raven's eyes have fallen forward. Yuri is still facing Alexei but Alexei isn't even looking at the young man. He doesn't understand this uncomfortable feeling in his gut.

Is it okay for it to end this way?

Yuri takes the distraction and gives the commandant a brutal blow with his sword. Raven feels chills up his spine, he hears Karol and the others voices at his side. They needed to leave. Flynn was getting back up after taking a blow for Yuri but the young captain is clearly worn out.

No it couldn't end like this.

The core is threatening to fall on all of them and Zaude itself was shaking under their feet. The thing wasn't going to remain in the air much longer and they were all very aware. Yet when everyone moved back, Raven moved forward and dashed passed the retreating Yuri. It was selfish of him but thinking of everything he went through ending like this - it wasn't right.

Raven's sure someone is calling his name but he doesn't even register his own voice screaming over all the noise. Chaos and panic had broken out as the core is finally unable to sustain itself in the sky. Raven feels like he's never moved this fast in his life, tackling Alexei so hard he nearly knocks the air out of himself. The core falls and just narrowly misses the two of them when they hit the ground. The blastia core hits the roof and shatters into large and small bits, bringing up a plume of smoke.

❝ Raven!! ❞

❝ Where's Yuri!? ❞

❝ Come on, it's dangerous here right now. ❞

Raven can't make out much sound beyond his own ragged breathing and ringing in his ears. He coughs from inhaling whatever smoke and particles the blastia core picked up, waving his sleeve in front of his face to try and clear his line of sight. He's surely lost his mind, he thinks, as he looks around with bleary eyes before looking down at the man he'd stupidly risked his life to save. He's bleeding and covered in dust and pieces of blastia but he was very much still alive by the telltale sign of his chest rising and falling with irregular breaths.

I'm strapping on my clown shoes to say a thing I really appreciate about Rolin's interviews and the ways he talks about responsibility and accountability in the context of iwtv is that it feels, to me, focused on the idea that people who have been marginalized and pushed into corners are still people, making choices. and an essential part of personhood (and I would say with respect to Claudia and Armand in particular also adulthood) is the dignity of having the agency behind those choices respected and acknowledged. Including when those choices are harmful or selfish or shortsighted. and I think this is such a delicate area because it's so easy to cross the line into victim blaming and bootstraps but if they can stick the landing I will appreciate it so much.

Now that the Grand Fest has officially come to an end and the winners announced, I would like to give a few words.

To Team Past: Congratulations big time for your win! You put in the good fight and prevailed despite, quite frankly, overwhelming odds (and out of our two opponents, you were the ones I would've wanted to win, if it wasn't us)! Well well done! 👏👏👏

And to my fellow folks on Team Future: Well done! We faced the same overwhelming odds as Team Past, combined with Past's odds stacked against us, and although we came in a very, very dead last, by Joe we didn't go down without a fight, and the effort alone, the drive to never give up, deserves praise enough. That just makes us underdogs, just like the dear idols that represented us! And unlike the Past or the Present, there is no way of escaping the Future, it'll come whether you like it or not! Be it tomorrow, next week, or next year, we will, eventually, prevail! Because we're the Future, and the Future is the marching passage of Time! Well done, guys! Well done indeed! 👏👏👏

Re-Spun Threads is a paperback comic anthology of fairytales and folklore set in cultures (micro or macro) outside the original or well-known version of classic tales. 

Sixteen creators and creative teams came together to craft short comics based on the concept of retelling classic tales with the twist that the characters and/or time and place had to change from the original. The goal was to bring the structure of a fairytale and mold it to convey themes and cultures more relevant to ourselves-- Not to unweave the tapestry of tales that we love, but to rework them into something new.

Grace hadn't expected to run into someone in this place at this time. At least not anyone who was more worried about a threat than being one. The clown... Wasn't he dead? He had goons and followers of course, but they seemed to not have the influence they once had. Was he hallucinating from fear toxin? What was broken if anything at all? Still, he seemed like he needed help.

"Hey, no clown here. What's broken?"
