Maia doesn’t look convinced nor does she look like she’s in a hurry to go on. So I do my best to encourage her.

Wade: I’m listening, Maia. What is this about?

Maia: It’s about what I told you before - my mental diagnosis.

Wade: Okay

Maia: And my mother.

I tense up but do my best to hide it.

Wade: Go on

Maia: My condition isn’t an isolated thing. My mother also suffered from mental illness.

I silently nod to coax her to continue. 

Maia: And I’ve always been terrified to pass it on, so to avoid that -  I told myself that I’d never have children. But then I met you, and - 

Maia stops talking because she’s afraid to say something. 

Wade: What happened to your mother, Maia?

Maia: She died - when I was little. She was in a mental institution and she died trying to self medicate. Her death was ruled an accident. But I never understood that – in my head, she chose to leave me.

Wade: I’m sorry, Maia.

Maia:  It terrifies me, Dub. *long pause* What if...?

Maia trails off, and I fill in for her.

Wade: You end up the same way?

Maia: *tearful nod*

As a european I don't wear a helmet because literally no one else does. Like I have not seen someone wear a helmet while biking in years. It would feel like putting on a helmet while walking. No One is doing that

If people wear helmets in your country then like yeah I'd wear one too, but here it's pretty much our culture at this point to Not

Why do you think there is an international standard regarding health and safety? To literally stop the subjectivity on health and care. That's what people in the scientific community and health care have been screaming about.

You being surrounded by a situation where it's become a norm to not wear helmets because it's perceived as culturally strange is not to just go "oh well it is what it is", its "oh wow my society has failed me"

Fuck me, next time someone is going to argue wearing masks is a culture and not because it serves a function and society has normalised bad habits and standards

I'm going back through my phone notes and I remember I was gonna write a fun kinda tongue in cheek TFA fic of Ratchet dealing with various interfacing related injuries and getting fed up with them all. Like Autobot-Decepticon truce situation, and he's gotta deal with stuff like Lugnut coming in with shattered optics because Strika sat on his face too hard, and Bulkhead comes in with minor electrical burns and arhythmia because Bumblebee accidentally shocked him, and Shockwave and Blurr coming in with friction burns in embarrassing places for reasons you can probably figure out. Like fun non-serious but embarrassing injuries. Then the punchline would be Ratchet getting a broken hip because he fell off the berth in the middle of getting busy with Arcee and the other medics desperately trying not to laugh while patching him up. That's for sure going on the future fics list.

recently remembered of Gir having his own room, like mentioned in epesoid ' 'Germs'

And I was wondering how would you view Gir's room. And would Zim ever enter to clean it? (Kinda like how Zim bribes Gir to clean his Dog suit)

I imagine that Gir’s room is SUPPOSED to just have essential SIR Unit stuff. A more advanced charger (Gir is capable of charging himself on his own by entering a “sleep mode” where he looks like he’s actually sleeping, but this one in Gir’s room would charge him faster and more efficiently), machines meant to automatically fix Gir if he’s damaged, machines used to install upgrades, extra parts, the like.

But because this is Gir we’re talking about, it’s a complete mess in there. If Gir likes something but can’t keep it on himself at all times, it’s going in his room. Pig toys, food, random junk he found outside, a few of Zim’s things, more junk, a TV and a million DVDs of shows Gir likes (DVDs because Invader Zim was made in 2001 so obviously they use DVDs. Plus we see Gir using one in FBI Warning Of Doom so DVDs are definitely the main movie storage device of the Invader Zim universe), etc.

Zim does his best to clean it when possible, but Gir just brings more things in as fast as he can get rid of it. Zim can make Gir’s room spotless in a day and Gir can make it messy again in an hour. Zim doesn’t need to bribe Gir to get in like he does to clean Gir’s disguise, as Gir usually doesn’t mind him entering, but the amount of junk all over the place can make it hard to traverse.

My batch and I were sparring one day after lessons, and I was watching a group of CTs picking on this little blonde kid. I stepped in, scared the little shits off, and went to help the blond kid out, but wanna know what the little shit did? He fucking bit me,darted to the rafters and hid up there for five minutes

Falls:Oh my stars, he still does that! He hates the med bay, so he used to run and hide in the up high areas of the ship INCLUDING THE DAMNED VENTS. Till I started to guilt trip him into staying

Being in support groups on Facebook for people who use a certain medication is funny because half the posts are like

"I've been on [medicine] since January and I've just started having [symptoms of the disease we have that we're taking the medicine for]. Should I stop taking it??"

or "my long hair used to be curly a few months ago and now it's all just frizzy. I did start dyeing my hair but could it be the medication?"
