habits i should try to avoid burnout 🍵

to varying degrees, every semester i burn out. this one may become the worst i've had in recent years if i'm not careful bc of the way i'm trying to pack my schedule. anxiety has been unexpectedly high this week and it's only week 1! 😖

🐢 self-care:

get 8-10 hours of sleep daily

daily exercise - enough to get me physically tired enough to sleep

meditate AND journal daily

give myself at least one day a week to chill (probably will be a "reset" day bc i can't just vegetable and expect my brain to not self-destruct. for now, let's try saturdays.)

more quality time with the people i love throughout the week

fresh air + sunlight when the weather isn't too inhospitable

no phone mornings (i quickly fell out of the habit but it did wonders for my mental health 😭)

🐰 time management:

set reasonable goals. don't kid yourself into thinking you can complete everything on a to-do list you doubt you can finish even half of - if you doubt, you're probably right.

take plenty of breaks throughout the day

don't procrastinate bc procrastination's consequences will definitely lead to burnout. on the days you just don't feel it, give yourself a reason to study that speaks to you. what is demotivating you? give yourself the encouragement you need to not give up.

vary the order in which you do things so your days feel like they have more variety (e.g. vary the order in which you work on different subjects every day)

study based on energy level (i.e. try to study high-energy subjects when you have high energy and low-energy subjects when you have low energy. stop for the day when you're just not there anymore, don't try to push it.) this doesn't have to be contradictory to the point above cuz i still have lots of choices for what to do and my energy sometimes fluctuates like crazy throughout a single day.

I present to you, Shadow 0-34, Julia "Jules" Conway, the electrical engineer of the Shadow Company. She's the chaotic repairer of the company, your radio doesn't work, go with her, the explosive circuit you planned didn't react, she knows thousand ways to make it boom.

Her callsign was a joke make by Graves when she presented herself, her name being Julia and her love for electricity just went correctly at being called Jules.

She's really sweet but chaotic, the definition of an orange cat, she would be working in her office fixing devices or climbing impossible places on the base.

Do you think Moose would like to be around her?

Jules and Moose definitely work a lot together considering their jobs overlap. Moose can get a little testy when working with tech so they might butt heads but in a good natured manner. probably would hang out with her a bit, either in her space or in his. Moose would most definitely worry about her climbing around the base and would probably try to at least accompany her out of worry. Graves found them on a water tower once in one of their temporary bases and he lost his mind.

Like what if she’s staying over at his place for a while because her apartments being painted or something and he gets used to her routine and her little habits 😭😭😭😭💞💞💞💞💞

She wakes up and makes herself some matcha and plays some calm music in the morning and he starts to ask her for a matcha too!

She joins him and Kaya on their morning walk!

He wants to order lunch but oh! Wait! She’s already making lunch and it’s something hearty and warm and homemade and he’s so excited 😭😭😭

He pines harder after her little visit 💯 percent!

It's the way he would quicky get used to you being around. You show interest on joining him and Kaya on their walk two days in a row, he's now going to be calling for you when he gets ready to take her out. You start making lunch for the both of you, and he will miss it once you're gone, and it's very noticable. You will see him talking to chat about how much he misses your cooking, and before you leave he does start to help prep whatever you're making in the morning.if you're in the middle of a show while you're staying at his, start the season over so you can watch it with him. If you fall sleep on top of each other in the middle of the show, who care, at least your both comfortable. And if you don't finish the show, not you have to sped more time at his, or he at yours, so you can finish it together.

but seriously, in all honesty mykie and anthony were really cute, and they got together after very difficult years either w/partners or work/social life, and they were together the whole pandemic, and i remember them saying that they didn’t fight, like ever

maybe the fact that there is no longer a pandemic that “forces” them to be 24/7 around each other, anthony being more busy, mykie going through all of her illness, made them finally pop the bubble of “we never fight uwu” and that could’ve been like the trigger for their break up

Could be! What surprises me most is him seemingly being sure he would marry her and then just a few months later they are broken up.

(I'm not going to complain if Ian and Anthony marry and build Smosh until they calmly retire together 👀)
