rambly sr3 thoughts sorry
like i said i just yhink like... the insane tonal shift between 2 to 3 is so jarring. im a Fan of many things i like to see the joy and whimsy in everything 💖 and sr3 has some perks and things i do like! but i think its really hard to discuss in Comparison to 1 and 2
theres a point to be made about like the obvious saints row vs gta comparisons but i think that also is relevant in both the good and bad ways. sr 1 and 2 establish themselves as a serious gritty crime story with moments of humour utilised well, similarly to gta iii and vice city and san andreas. like the stories are genuine and down to earth and explore a very serious tone of crime and gang culture while also knowing how to use humour and having a quirky funny edge that doesnt overstay its welcome or be Too over the top.
3 immediately, out the gate, announces that its here to be DUMB and GOOFY and SILLY! . and its too much man.
theres so many things that r just... bad. the game takes a very jokey and unserious approach to sex and sexuality, the morningstar women are like in fetish gear for no reason, the mission rescuing zimos, the penetrator. in previous games sex exists and its a regular part of the world and society but in 3 its a joke and sex toys are funny and its a strangely immature turn in the humour. the modelling stuff, acting in movies, becoming a celebrity.. it feels very odd and an obvious switch from the gang crime focus to something more lighthearted in a way that doesnt work for me
similarly like i wont touch on how i feel abt the superpowers and aliens in 4 but i forgot that 3 starts transitioning into that with like the cloning and the way the deckers have unexplained teleportation. its just....... weird? out of place? it fits tonally in sr3 but thats the issue is that 3 feels like the start of a completely separate franchise to 1/2
johnny "dies", whatever, as soon as the game starts. and ignoring the retcon of 4 its still insane that they thought it was a good death and an appropriate way to kill off a beloved character with no actual story acknowledgment from the rest of the cast. ur boss has no real response to it. no one cares. THATS INSANE!!!
i dont know my thoughts are all over the place. i like the way sr3 feels to play like its Fun and has a good feel to it. i like the grungy aesthetic of steelport. i like the gangs and characters!!! matt miller is my son. but i dont care much for like anything else really and its unfortunate in comparison to how incredible 1 and 2 are... its not to say i dont Like 3 bc i do and i enjoy playing it!! i just think it could be so much better :/ (and in my head it is)

Welcome to my shamblr!
Name's Heather! I mostly post about video games, but I tend to talk about anything whenever I feel like it.
I set some tags to make my stuff more readable and they are visible on my website, but I figured a pinned post might help some souls on mobile.
text.qd - mostly text posts about anything. edit.qd - sometimes I do some photo editing in GIMP, video editing in Kdenlive etc. screen.qd - screenshots. I enjoy snapping pics in video games, and as long as there is some artistic intent to them, if that makes sense, they'll be under this tag. anim.qd - very rarely used, screen.qd but gifs. ask.qd - me answering questions tag.qd - tag games
I enjoy old fps games - Quake, Half-Life and stuff from around that era - and the Legacy of Kain franchise is near and dear to my heart. I spend a lot of time playing these, but I barely talk about them here.
Currently I'm on Cyberpunk 2077 and Signalis brainrot so most of my original posts, as well as reblogs, are from these games. I do reblog some Metal Gear and Half-Life stuff, though, and occasionally you can spot me posting some of my own Half-Life sets made in gmod.

Hi, I was wondering if a fellow sr fan can help me out? I was looking through Aisha's Wikia page, specifically the images and saw an image that shows her obituary that said that was from the official game site but the image showed her birth and death year which said 1982-2009 idk if this canon or correct and I was unsure if I should use that information since it could be wrong idk what do you think?
Oh man, the old SR2 site obituary pages... Those things are one of the main reasons that people headcanon their own SR timelines, because the years make no damn sense.
According to the obituaries, Carlos would have been killed in 2007, yet Lin in 2008, a year after Carlos?? And Aisha two years after Carlos???
There’s just... so much messed up stuff regarding the SR timeline that it’s just bonkers. We’re basically given no concrete dates in-game except SRIV intro narration’s assertion that SR1 started? ended? "made [the Saints’] presence known to the world” in 2006 (which, not coincidentally, was also the year SR1 was released).
Everything else is based on out-of-game material that shifts around, and a few in-game textures of calendars and stuff that are super unreliable because a) often the years are just placeholders and are the same years the game was being worked on, and b) many textures get recycled between the games.
There’s a couple of in-game mentions of spans of time (Johnny says that he’d been in prison for 2 years and 31 days, and it’s 5 years between the Zero Saints Thirty mission and the Zin invasion), but without specific dates to anchor those to, it’s all guesswork at best.
So basically, to paraphrase Dane Vogel in Gat Out of Hell, “Timeline’s what you make of it, sweetie.”

What's the deal with Saint's Row and Borderlands?
Saints Row 1/Unreleased Borderlands prototype: Generic as hell with no identity whatsoever, and all attempts at humor fell flat
Saints Row 2/Borderlands 1: Smash hit due to its irreverant writing and fresh take on somewhat standardized gameplay, with a much drier wit than its sequels and a proper understanding of parody without overstaying its welcome with any of said parody elements.
Saints Row 3/Borderlands 2: The point where the series became an absolute juggernaut, despite a noticeable drop in writing quality. The dry understated moments are completely gone and replaced with incredibly immature and immediately dated pop culture references and a complete absence of the very concept of "subtlety", but the game skates by on notably varied and improved gameplay and a much wider cast of interesting characters.
Saints Row 4/The Pre-Sequel: The (IMO) peak of the franchise in both gameplay and writing as some risks with the former massively pay off, as does a return to form for the latter as the writing instead uses self-referential humor with more of that original dry and cynical wit and a story that really ties the series together in a way where the insanity becomes sensible.
Saints Row Reboot/Borderlands 3: Absolutely grating in every way shape and form of its story, with not just a disregard but an active insult to everything that was once good about the series, and ultimately a laughingstock for how insufferably hackneyed both the moment to moment dialogue and absolute trash fire of an overarching story are.
...The only difference being at the very fucking least Borderlands 3 is fun if you mute all dialogue thanks to how gameplay wise it ever continued refining itself. Saints Row Reboot sure as fuck doesn't even have that.

Free Guy (2021) Review
Tumblr media
“Don’t have a good day, have a great day!”
Plot: When a bank teller discovers he's actually a background player in a brutal open-world video game, he decides to become the hero of his own story - one that he can rewrite himself. In a world where there's no limits, he's determined to save the day his way before it's too late, and maybe find a little romance with the coder who conceived him.
Last time I watched such a hyper-actively positive film I was seeing little LEGO figures jumping about on screen with Morgan Freeman hanging off a string in ghost form. Yes, The LEGO Movie shares a lot in common with Free Guy, not just in its opening sequence where Ryan Reynolds’s loveable Guy is starting off a perfectly good day every day with a nice cup of coffee and wishing everyone not a good, but a great day, goes to the job at his bank and goes back home, and rinse and repeat. But the character of Guy himself is basically Chris Pratt’s Emmett from The LEGO Movie - full of sunshine and innocence and taking everything that comes with child-like excitement and energy. You can also treat Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” song usage here like “Everything is Awesome” with how many times its played, but damn if it isn’t catchy! And the film comparisons don’t end there. You wouldn’t be faulted for seeing references to Ready Player One with all the cameos and Easter Eggs and pop culture references thrown in the mix, to The Truman Show based on the general concept and obviously certain video games such as Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row and even Sims due to the video game open world that the movie creates.
Speaking of the video game open world that is created, you could tell director Shawn Levy and the producers went through a lot of effort to research modern video games and all the tiny little details and quirks that exist. For example it was a lot of fun seeing characters tea-bag someone they just killed to then a character glitching out and jumping into the wall repetitively or the obvious inclusion of Fortnite inspired dance jiggles. You also get cameos from various real-life game streamers such as Jacksepticeye and DanTDM, and I found an interview on IGN where those guys spoke about in regards to how Hollywood can never seem to get video-game-to-film adaptations right, and how they appreciated that the producers of Free Guy went to them and asked questions and actually showed interest in wanting to create a realistic feeling video game in the movie and getting the terminology right. Evidently unlike other video game adaptations Free Guy manages to succeed from the fact that it doesn’t need to replicate a specific game from real life. There are nods to certain games as I aforementioned, but otherwise they’ve created their own entire game and as such there is no expectation to impress a certain individual fan base. So in conclusion what I’m saying is that I guess Hollywood should stop trying to adapt film versions of popular video game franchises and instead do their own original stuff maybe? Then again I do want to see that Ghost of Tsushima adaptation come to life, so yes, I’ll just go and kindly shut myself up.
Taking the video game matter aside for the time being, I found Free Guy to be an absolute delight from start to finish. Well, to be exact from 20 minutes from the start to finish. Honestly when the film began I was concerned if the movie was going to turn out to be the typical “I live in a simulation” story, and though as a basis it is exactly that, there’s so much goodness thrown into the mix with funny jokes to the cameos (the cameos are to die for!) to the visuals to the music choices to the performances - the movie is such a joy to watch. Speaking of the cameos and pop culture references, Free Guy is also an interesting film outside of its narrative. This movie was in production during the time the studio that was behind it - 20th Century Fox - was being sold to a certain little known company called Disney. As such, you can tell after the studio’s transfer to Disney was complete, this film underwent some additional reshoots and last minute changes, mainly in the finale because there are certain surprises at the end of the movie that will be a geek/nerd’s wet dream and were only made possible after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, now known as 20th Century Studios. Personally I still have my qualms about Disney being the massive conglomerate business giant that is buying out all the other studios, but not going to lie even I got excited and jumped up like a kid in my cinema seat when a certain something happened at the end of this movie. Luckily only my lovely fiancée saw me like this as she was sitting next to me, and yes, I’m certain that me revealing my true nerd colours definitely lost me some attraction points from her, but nevertheless I don’t care, the Easter Eggs at the end of this movie are real fun!
The entire cast is top notch here. Ryan Reynolds does his usual shtick that he’s been doing ever since he found success with Deadpool, however naturally here he’s kept PG-13 and not swearing every other breath. That being said, his charm and sarcastic charisma really worked for the role of Guy, and he presented himself as really loveable and naïve and it was impossible not to like him in this film. Jodie Comer in her role has also been getting humongous praise from critics and reviewers alike, and yes, the rumours are true, she shares great on screen chemistry with Ryan Reynolds and also is proper cool and badass as to be expected. That being said I was told by a certain someone that they know someone who knows someone who knew someone who spoke to someone who said that they worked with Jodie Comer on the set of Killing Eve, and this was just some behind-the-scenes worker, and apparently in their experience they found Comer to be a real diva and challenge to work with. So that’s now me here spreading some gossip for no apparent reason besides causing a little stir and now I can move on. Joe Keery has a much bigger role in this film that the trailers made it seem, and I must say the lad has really been doing well for himself ever since his appearance in Stranger Things. Whenever I’ve see him in anything since such as Spree or Death to 2020 he’s always been wonderful to watch. Here in Free Guy he’s no different, getting to play a character who at first comes off as a villain but then is revealed to simply be a guy working for the wrong person. Speaking of that wrong person, the villain of the movie is played by none other than actor-director Taika Waititi himself, and his role is really interesting seeing as he plays the owner of this big video game business company who only cares about money and sequels over art, which I found quite ironic seeing as this movie is distributed by Disney that’s all about sequels, remakes and reboots. Just saying. Also found it funny how even though this movie marks a little reunion of sorts for Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi, they don’t share any scenes together which was probably for the best, as last time they worked together Green Lantern occurred. Anyway, Taika is as goofy and over-the-top as you expect him to be, and I can see him being very divisive. You’ll either find him hilarious or super annoying. However both opinions would work seeing as he’s the villain.
Free Guy is an absolute cuddly crowd-pleaser full of casual mayhem and crazy ideas, and is sure to be a welcome boost of fun in a summer that naturally lacked bigger blockbusters due to what’s happening in the world right now. However nonetheless, this and The Suicide Squad have really made a point that cinema is back, hopefully to stay.
Overall score: 9/10

For your fandom ask: H, N, S, and Z?
From the Fandom Meme
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., tv shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.) Most of my fandom source texts are video games. Not sure why, but I don’t get quite as invested in films or TV shows the way I do with video games. And sometimes it happens with books, but only really rarely. I’m not sure why. I mean with books and shows, sometimes I’ve thought about writing things, but I usually don’t end up going through with it. I think because at that point I’m messing with only someone else’s characters and it is hard for me to get invested fully into work that is only the creation of another.
With video games, I get to participate in the world in a manner of speaking. There is an interactivity and engagement inherent to video games that creates a different focus and a buy-in that is not present in other sources, at least for me. I get to create a character and fit them into this world and watch them move through it--and sure they fall along a certain line according to the developers’ plans, but I do get to have a hand in it. It’s the reason I’m a sucker for RPG games.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice) I’ll be honest, I’m not really sure what I’d say for any of my fandoms. But I do kind of sit at the edge of my fandoms, all of them. I’m not in the middle of anything in any of them, and I’m perfectly content there because I’m moderate participant at best.
1. I’d really like to see the Saints Row fandom revive itself. It used to be quite a lively and welcoming location. It seems that most of those that remain are the gatekeepers.
2. I’d like to see more respect and inclusion for Faith Seed. There is a group of people in that fandom that like to treat her like she is not part of the family. Despite this tendency in some corners of the Far Cry 5 fandom, most of the people I’m surrounded by also hold that Faith is a valid member of the family who should be included in discussions and representations of the Seed siblings.
3. This question would be so very much easier if I was a more active participant in my fandoms. Overall, I wish more of us, in all my fandoms, were still active on tumblr. A lot of people migrated away. Perhaps if I were more active in other places, I would still be able to reach out to them. Though I know many of them are on Discord, it’s just not a medium that works for my mind. Plus, I’ve kind of been cut off from things so long that I still struggle with maintaining connections with people. It’s something I’m particularly bad at.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged) Okay, so this is more difficult than I anticipated.
I’m both fearing and excited about the Legendary version of Mass Effect releasing in May. I really am looking forward to the graphical update and the game play cleanup. Though I really don’t know that I want to see them adjust the Mako controls, I loved that sketchy thing and the fact that if you tried hard enough you could climb over anything. I loved the Mako in all it’s flaws and fabulousness.
I’m also kind of concerned about the possibility of them altering the story or the characters in some way.
There is a tendency nowadays for fan opinions to be able to alter plans, story, and characters in media. And I really don’t want them to change the franchise in order to meet some loud corner of the fandom. I loved the game as it was, flaws and all. I really fear that they might institute some odd change to suit some rabid corner of the internet that will unravel the fabric of something I’ve loved for so long.
Though in the same vein, I’d love to see some changes here and there. Perhaps the ability to romance Ashley as fShepard, or Kaidan in the ME 1 timeline as mShep. I don’t know. But then again. If I rally for those sorts of changes, then I open myself up to the other potential changes.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged) Hmm. I really enjoy the templar’s lore in Dragon Age, but I wanted to see where else I might be able to take it. I thought, what if there was some magic in templars that allowed them to wield lyrium effectively. And I started doing some reading with old chivalric knights and ideas about knighthood and chivalry in histroy and literature and I wanted to bring that kind of sense into the templars lore, perhaps even a forgotten or overlooked bit of lore for them. And I started playing around with the idea of Templars containing or controlling their own magical ability that is only enhanced by the lyrium. And this kind of happened.
I put it under a cut because it is incredibly long.
Malcolm found his daughter sitting in the grass at the back fence. She had been crying and he was disturbed by the idea that his wife's concern may have been more warranted than he'd given it credit for. He sat next to her and leaned against the fence. "Tell me," he said trying to keep his voice even.
"I don't even know," she said weakly.
Malcolm slid his arm around her shoulders. "Did… did he?" He could barely say it let alone think it.
She shook her head. "No, Father," Aderyn said surprised that he could think that. "I really don't know how to explain it." She wasn't sure how to talk about this with her father. But he was the only person who might be able to help her. She explained some things, though not others. She left out the details about how Cullen had ended up shirtless. "I saw a glow, it was strange. There was no warmth either, which is why I can't figure out how I burned him. I can always feel the glow of fire," she said as she stared at the grass running the event through her head.
"It was a burn?"
"Well, not really. That's what it looked like. And Cullen said something," she said looking up at her father hopefully. "That there was nothing discernable."
"You should have brought him with you."
"What did I do to him?" she asked, clearly concerned. "And how can I control something when I don't know what it is?"
"Did he return to the Chantry?"
She shook her head and shrugged. "I don't know." He looked at her for a moment. "I was scared. No, appalled. I hid. I  …"
"I'm sorry I can't assuage your fears. I'll see him as soon as I can. See if there is anything I can do," Malcolm said, hoping to reassure her some. He stood and offered her his hand.
"Aderyn!" They both turned to see him running up the path. He hopped over the fence and stopped when he saw her father's face. "Malcolm, pardon me."
"No need." Malcolm ushered them both inside and quickly into his small study. If what his daughter said was true he had to be objective, at least until he found out what had happened. He could be an upset father after he knew what had happened. Aderyn started to leave, but Malcolm told her he would need her assistance.
"Show me," Malcolm said as his fingers moved across the spines of books on a shelf. When he turned and saw the mark he dropped the books he'd pulled off the shelf. He glanced at the templar then looked at his daughter for a long moment. He clinched his jaw and gathered the books he dropped. The mage set the books on the table and touched the distinctive mark in the center of the young man's chest. "Did it burn?"
Cullen shook his head. "I didn't feel anything." He looked over at the unnerved woman in the corner. "Aderyn saw a glow. I can't tell anything about it, it's like there's no trace of magic to it."
Within the hour Malcolm was more concerned about what had occurred than that his daughter had been in a position to leave such a mark on the young man. He could find nothing in his research. The three of them had sat there for several hours as Malcolm searched through his books with the help of his daughter. When her father left the room in search of a rare volume he kept in a chest in his bedroom, Aderyn handed Cullen his shirt back and he stood and slipped it on again.
"I'm sorry," he whispered standing behind her. She leaned back against his chest and he set his hand on her hip.
"You have nothing to apologize for," she replied replacing her father's books on the shelves.
"It doesn't matter." "How can you say that?" she asked glancing up at him over her shoulder. She shelved another volume. "You can't hide what I've done."
"Actually, I can. Quite easily I must add. I'm not one for running around shirtless."
Aderyn would beg to differ, she'd seen the sight several times, but she couldn't make light of the situation she was in. She was too scared for him, for herself, but most of all, for her family. She turned around and leaned against the bookcase. "How can you not be concerned?"
He set his hands on the bookcase on either side of her shoulders and gazed down into her eyes. "You are more than concerned enough for both of us." She glared at him a moment. "I'll tell you a secret." He leaned toward her. "I don't think it's the result of magic."
"What then?" Her look changed dramatically.
"I think it's something else. More potent than magic." He leaned toward her, but she ducked under his arm as the door opened.
"Smart boy." Malcolm closed the door behind himself, completely this time. "It's not something that can be performed by a mage." He looked at his daughter who seemed most surprised by the news; she sat down slowly. "As odd as this statement is. It's templar magic." Cullen laughed, but it was cut short by the look on Malcolm's face and a glance at the seal on the cover of the book. "It's a promise. Sealed by a touch."
Cullen looked at him curiously. Malcolm touched the book then looked back to the templar. "If this is correct, Aderyn give me your hand." She reached out to her father and he turned her right hand over to look at it. He nodded and loosed her hand. Aderyn touched her palm then looked up at Cullen, it was completely smooth. She showed the discovery to the templar. He ran his fingertips across her palm.
"I've never heard of anything like this," Cullen said marvelling at the complete lack of any texture on her palm.
"It is rare," Malcolm said. "I didn't think it could be the cause, truthfully I always thought it was little more than another part of templar legend, part of the myth." Both of them looked over at him carefully.  He sat down and closed the book. "An old friend claimed he was marked by his wife in such a way, ... on their wedding night," he added carefully. "It's determined by overwhelming trust and connection to another."

Hey my darling, I hope you're doing okay, sorry I haven't been in contact as of late, I was swamped with my 3rd year dissertation 😭but I just wanted to stay that you are loved and important and I love seeing your content my page. Also I think I may also be self shipping again with Matt Miller from the Saints row franchise, and I feel a bit bad for my other pairings (Remus, Draco, Spencer). Is that a normal thing with self shipping? (Although I'm still wholeheartedly dedicated to Draco 🐍💚). I miss you, I hope you're keeping well 😊
Also I forgot to say on the last ask, how do you feel about penpalling? I found an old Christmas card from when we used to send them from each other and it just made my day even better, as well as finding my old Spencer commission that I read every time I need a pick me up. And I was wondering if you'd be interested in penpalling again? Don't worry if not though I completely understand 😊
Sophieeee ~ 🥰🥰🥰🥰💖
How are you? How is everything?💗
It’s okay darling omg I really hope that your dissertation went well asdfghjkl I’m so so proud of you!!!💛Thank you, honey, you are loved and I adore seeing you around on my dash!!🧡
Aaaaa ~ 💖✨💖✨congrats on finding another F/O asdfghjk the getting to know them stage is always super fun!!! 💙😊 It is a normal thing to feel bad for your other F/Os, but it’s important to remember that they want you to be happy and what’s best for you, so therefore they completely understand and they’re happy to welcome Matt into the F/O family!🌸🥰
If self-shipping hurts or feels wrong, then it isn’t being done right kskksskk put you and your wants and needs first always!💗 I miss you too angel and I hope you’re looking after yourself!!! ~ 💜🌸
As for penpaling, angel, I would love to pick that up again! Currently, however, I don’t have an income source so I wouldn’t be able to send you letters or anything asdfghj we could email each other or something though in the mean time?❤ I understand if not though omg we’re both super busy with life!! ~
Look after you, angel, you’re so so important and I love you and I miss you a lot! ~ 💓💓💓

In a world rife with crime, where lawless factions fight for power, a group of young friends embark on their own criminal venture, as they rise to the top in their bid to become Self Made. Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created; the unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger-than-life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures, and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top.
Saints Row Review Pros:
- Decent graphics. - 59.8GB download size. - 1000 Gamerscore. - HDR support. - Controller settings - Invert axis and sensitivity sliders along with rebinding buttons. - Co-op settings - open to all/invite/friends only, friendly fire, Co-op pranking, and HQ customisation. - Tutorial frequency can be set to off/low/default and high. - Accessibility options - vehicle speed limit slider, automatic QTE, no time limits, timed objective difficulty slider, customize controller dead zones on the sticks and set toggles, high contrast mode, motion blur, camera shake, takedown cameras, full caps, reticle settings, mini-map size slider, GPS arrow setup, enemy health bars, blood and gore, brutal takedown, Colourblind mode, and force underwear. - Five difficulties - Tourist, hustler, entrepreneur, sensei, and boss. - In-game cutscenes. - Character creator - choose from 8 Boss presets or go custom with body, skin, hair, head, face, tattoos, and personality options. - Wouldn't be a Saints Row game without the ability to change chest size, dick size, and then if you want underwear or not. Oh and nipples, full nipple settings section. - Can skip the cutscenes. - The opening tutorial section will teach the basics of combat. - It runs at a fast pace. - Perform melee takedowns for health. - Pop up of kills and feats like headshots and double kills, drifting, driving in the wrong lane, and many more. - Shooting feels good with a powerful aim assist and button to auto-target explosive elements like barrels and fireworks. - Excellent voice work. - End of mission breakdown. - Full gun customisation from color to patterns, metallic effect sliders, gloss sliders, and surface options. - Unlock abilities/buffs on guns by doing set gun objectives. - Dumpsters act like loot chests giving rewards and loot when searched. - Enemies can drop cash. - A mobile phone is your gateway to skills, missions, camera mode, styling, and more. - Side hustles are optional side missions. - In vehicles, you can side swipe to knock cars or blow them up. - Over-the-top physics. - Michael Bay levels of over-the-top explosions. - Play how you want. - The map shows points of interest, side jobs, and everything in between. - Challenges through your phone can be done to open new opportunities and events. - The wanted app is a hitman-style set of missions where you have to take a target out. - The radio station wheel allows you to quickly change between the genres. - Weapon wheel. - Save and load when you want. - The garage is where you store your cars and set favorites. - Unlock new activities and services as you progress like picking up cargo in helicopters or leaning out car windows and shooting people. - Brilliant action movie-style set pieces. - A lot of Easter eggs and nods to other games and film franchises. - Jimrobs Garage is unlocked through the story and opens up chop shop (steal cars) activities and car customisation. - Every car type has a special upgrade to earn. - Such an awesome main character, sassy and channeling Ab Fab with attitude. - The whole lost your job skit was so relatable, funny, and well-paced. - The story is all about how you and your mates create a crew and take over the town from the rival gangs. - Friends can be called upon to help you and doing their unique missions can have them using different weapons and gear. - Buy new perk slots with in-game cash, you have minor, major, and elite level perks. - Unlock and use fast travel points. - Cool short intro animation when entering shops and activities. - Find and photograph Collectibles to decorate the home base. In the app, you get a clue on its location and a silhouette of the item. - The Empire table - this is where you build new criminal ventures within the town. - You generate money from your businesses. - When exiting a car you can opt to jump on the roof and shoot. - Threat activities are done to increase your venture/business earnings. Saints Row Review Cons: - For all the accessibility settings there is no way to turn off any of the swearings. - Few instances of robotic-looking animations especially in cutscenes. - The drifting model is insane. - Using the phone gets a bit fiddly with so many menus. - Not always clear where to go to do things. - It does feel like they chucked everything Saints Row related into it and saw what stuck especially with the side missions and collectibles. - The Ai can bug out and go crazy, running you over or somehow jumping into you. - Brutal takedowns have to be charged up which is quite annoying. - Physics goes absolutely mental at times especially when towing cargo. - Fast travel points are far and few between. - A lot of swearing. - Everything ends up in just a series of gunfights and maybe a bit of driving to the next gun fight. The 15 Most Anticipated Videogames Coming in 2022 Pokémon Legends: Arceus What is it? Pokémon Legends: Arceus re-imagines the style and instructions of the long-running franchise while retaining the core gameplay that has enabled the games to endure in fans' hearts for nearly 30 years. The video game's primary objective is to assemble Hisui's first Pokédex for the region's Survey Corps by capturing and studying the wild animals that live in the area. When can I play it? 28 January Passing Away Light 2 Stay Human What is it? After a struggling advancement cycle, which included writers and veteran employees leaving the business in the middle of rumors of conflicting visions of the video game, Techland's sequel to its cult hit of 2015 finally got gold status recently, validating its February release date. However, gameplay demos have revealed fans can expect much of the same, with improvements to the parkour and melee systems and a brand-new European setting. Techland has likewise excited the storyline, with different factions assuring multiple playthroughs to see everything The City deals. When can I play it? 4 February Horizon Forbidden West What is it? The follow-up to 2017's hugely influential Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West, will again see players take control of Aloy as she checks out a dystopian world of animalistic machines. The original was one of the year's games when it came out, and hopes are high for the sequel– offered it will arrive on a more powerful console in the PS5 and present several brand-new features, such as water expedition. When can I play it? 18 February Elden Ring What is it? Among the more intriguing video game collaborations, director Hidetaka Miyazaki connect with Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin to develop a brand new open-world for players to explore. Fans of Miyazaki's previous games, infamously punishing titles like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, will likely expect a severe challenge. There have been hints that the trouble may have been dialed down a notch or two. When can I play it? 25 February Gran Turismo 7 What is it? 2021's saw the release of Xbox's killer racing app in the form of Forza Horizon 5, and now it's the turn of Sony to get in on the act. The most recent installment of the long-running series of driving video games makes sure to be another aesthetically impressive recreation of motorsports. It's much more practical than Forza's take on hurling supercars throughout the terrain; it'll still be a blast. When can I play it? 4 March Tunic What is it? Mixing components of old-school Zelda video games with battle reminiscent of Dark Souls' huge sword swings, Tunic looks set to be among the indie hits of the year. You play as an adorable fox adventuring through an equally enticing world, but don't let the cuteness fool you. There's lots of peril between you and your objective. When can I play it? 16 March Saints Row What is it? The Saints Row games began as a serious contender to Grand Theft Auto's open-world crown and welcomed silliness more with each brand-new installment. The last game in the series saw you playing as a superpowered president securing the world from an alien invasion. This reboot of the series somewhat dials back the madness, but we're sure it will still provide plenty of tongue-in-cheek moments. When can I play it? 26 August Starfield What is it? Starfield is most likely to be the next substantial open-world role-playing expedition game and has even been described as ‘Skyrim in space' by makers Bethesda– and they need to understand, they made Skyrim. Due to being launched in November, the game sees gamers assume the role of a character in space exploration organization Constellation in the wake of a civil war in the solar system. Bethesda guarantees an extensive, impressive universe filled with a range of quests and activities that every gamer's experience is different. When can I play it? 11 November Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga What is it? The very first Lego Star Wars video game was released way back in 2005, kick-starting an unlikely franchise of film/video game crossovers embedded in versions of their source products' world adorably recreated with plastic bricks. Combining platforming with puzzles, each game since has been a fun-for-all-the-family kind of affair. The Skywalker Saga is a new game with fresh recreations of the first six Star Wars episodes and Lego variations of the more recent three. It looks set to expand on the video gaming series' well-trodden format with some solid new ideas, interplanetary exploration. With 100s of tricks and characters to discover, it will undoubtedly be a charming addition to a Star Wars fan's collection. When can I play it? TBC Dead Space What is it? Released in 2008, Dead Space stays a scary classic (and one of this writer's preferred titles of perpetuity), dropping gamers into the climatic setting of a deserted area freighter overrun with deadly, zombie-like “xenomorphs.”. The graphics and lighting impacts of the time – not to mention excellent sound design – still hold up perfectly today. Still, this remake will benefit from far more powerful video games consoles to provide a much more high-fidelity experience. Not one for the faint of heart, Dead Space is an exhilarating sci-fi/horror experience and one that needs to be a lot more terrifying with a lick of graphical paint. When can I play it? TBC The Lord of the Rings: Gollum What is it? An intriguing prospect for fantasy fans, this curious release will check out the backstory of one of the category's most famous, however, least understood characters. While you might be imagining epic fights and savage action, the makers assure something a little different, with gameplay focusing instead on stealth and parkour elements. Crafting also assures to include highly, while players will experience the inner struggle memorably brought to life in the film series between the two sides of Gollum's personality. When can I play it? TBC Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora What is it? The first Avatar computer game – released to coincide with James Cameron's first film in 2009 – was a basic film tie-in affair that didn't create much excitement. There's not much to suggest Ubisoft's second attempt will do the same, and fans might lament the relocation to the video gaming giant's well-worn open-world format too. But, with early trailers showcasing lavish, jungle-like areas to explore and thrilling set pieces, could this be something of a sleeper hit? When can I play it? TBC The Callisto Protocol What is it? We've currently mentioned Dead Space's in-space horror previously in this short article. However, it gets a 2nd mention here with The Callisto Protocol. A spiritual sequel to that franchise, the first video game from Striking Distance Studios, established by Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield. In 2320 at a prison nest called Black Iron located on Jupiter's moon Callisto, the gamer takes the role of a prisoner finding themselves amidst an alien intrusion that appears to have been crafted by the jail's warden. When can I play it? TBC God of War Ragnarök What is it? The most recent installment in the series picks up a couple of years after the previous video game's events, with protagonists Kratos and his son Atreus searching for a method to prevent the prophesized Ragnarok– End of Days. Equipped with brand-new skills, powers, and weapons, you will go on a quest to save the Norse God of War, Týr, searching for responses. For the first time in the series, you will visit all of the Nine Realms. However, Thor and Freya are standing in your method, both of whom seek revenge for their respective kids' deaths at the hands of Kratos. When can I play it? TBC The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 What is it? When the initial Breath Of The Wild game was launched in March 2017 as a Nintendo Switch launch title, the vibrant step in a brand-new direction for the Zelda franchise was rightly declared as a work of art. The desire for a direct sequel has been strong ever since. Anticipation reached a fever pitch with the E3 2019 teaser trailer. Despite Nintendo staying tight-lipped on the video game's advancement since, fans of the series can anticipate a go back to the rich and lovely kingdom of Hyrule, as Zelda and Link aim to conserve the domain in another legendary adventure packed with ingenious puzzles and expedition aplenty.

[Street Fighter V] Extra Battle: Viable Ryu
If you were lucky enough to get the Extra Boss Battle before July 1, 2018 you got a chance to fight Ryu dubbed "The Master" it cost 1000FM to fight him and just like with Fortnite Thanos was for a limited time this is something I want to see more of in the future with different games and even more possible limited time crossover events that keeps interest and can change, add, or improve gameplay keeping things fresh, fun and unpredictable for the gamer. I think both are cool ideas and watching MDZ Jimmy fight what he calls him Viable Ryu was funny and entertaining check it out. This was pretty cool I had just made a post about the new DLC character G and the speculation on who he is and some of the boss battles of SFV so it was cool to see the Ryu The Master "A True Martial Artist" in his traditional Gi. G and Ryu's rival Sagat are the last 2 planned DLC characters planned coming out later this year, and with ideas like this they can keep the game fresh for years to come.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
VesperArcade has been putting up a lot of quality strategy and advice videos for many of the top games this year including the fighting game genre. With the release of the character called G getting closer wanted to revisit one of the best years for fighting games.
Extra Bonus:
With Street Fighter celebrating its 30th Anniversary and speculation on who G is, Mortal Kombat coincidentally just came off of celebrating its 25th Anniversary and many anticipating a new Mortal Kombat game (Mortal Kombat 11) and whether the game would take place before or after Armageddon. SMGxPrincess, Dynasty, BruskPoet, History Behind the Warrior and Super have some of the best informative, fun insights, and gameplay with Mugen creators Borg117 & Bleed having some of the best new gameplay ideas, and Mortal Kombat Addict has his own Krypt Secrets with some of the best Mugen Mortal Kombat games. Mortal Kombat has a huge following and a strong enough background to keep the game going with all the secrets and characters already in the game but it would still be cool to see something new. Many wanted a crossover game with Street Fighter or even Killer Instinct but on its own it is still one of the top fighting games of the genre.
Tumblr media
Kreate-a-Fighter was one of the best features from Mortal Kombat Armageddon between that and the Epic Gears and Shaders from Injustice 2 they are the perfect combination.
Update:
Dynasty has just posted New Mortal Kombat details in the form of a movie instead of the anticipated Mortal Kombat 11 game. Here they introduce a new character and a new story not necessarily what we know of Mortal Kombat. More of a spin off or a custom Mugen game, even though I was hoping for some kind of answer what happens after Armageddon I welcome any new idea and if done well it can work even though not canon (like the Japanese/Chinese relationship with Liu Kang & Kung Lao - ninja/shaolin monk brother relationship but without stereotyping it can happen right? I'm sure they will explain it like they picked which martial art or style they wanted when they were young). Mortal Kombat Rebirth pitch wasn't exactly canon either but looked good enough that we wanted to see it anyway. They did Mortal Kombat Legacy 1 & 2 instead but Mortal Kombat Rebirth I think would have worked.
New ideas sometimes keeps interest just like in the Kreate-a-Fighter post where Dynasty, Brusk Poet, SMGxPrincess and other fans game post ideas that gamers actually want as well as Borg117, Bleed, and Mortal Kombat Addict reinventing Mortal Kombat with gameplay that adds new experiences. Check out the new Mortal Kombat Movie details and see what you think as well as the Mortal Kombat Rebirth pitch and the version they actually went with Mortal Kombat Legacy 1 & 2, and check some great ideas for the new MK game in the Kreate-a-Fighter post and SMGxPrincess post below.
New Mortal Kombat Movie Details? Character Cast & Story Plot Revealed w/ No Sub-Zero & Scorpion?!

Tumblr media
SMGxPrincess usually has on point information and knows what she is talking about when it comes to the industry haven’t heard anything yet so I decided to put up the best ideas and information from SMGxPrincess and Dynasty. She posted information about a Shaolin Monks 2 as the next game personally I want the new Mortal Kombat 11 so hopefully both are true or it is combination of the 2.

RED FACTION GUERRILLA RE-MARS-TERED AND SAINTS ROW IS BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE!
Volition earlier in the year was bought by THQ Nordic reuniting them with old Volition titles from the past like Summoner and Red Faction. If you are not familiar with the Red Faction series you are in luck Red Faction Guerrilla is being remastered and if that’s not enough Saints Row 1 and 2 are now backwards compatible on the Xbox One. MrSaintsGodzilla21 has posted 2 videos so you can see how well these two have been upgraded as well as detailed explanation.
Agents of Mayhem had mixed reviews when it came out but it was a different perspective that even though is chaotic it is different enough you won’t confuse it with a Saints Row game kind of how Saints Row the Third separated itself from being a GTA clone. Check out Agents of Mayhem on Playstation Underground and hightlights for Agents of Mayhem and 10 years of Saints Row.

Jamie Foxx has been confirmed to play Spawn in this new reboot by the comic creator and artist Todd McFarlane in association with Blumhouse Productions which made news last year with its movie Get Out. It is said that they are taking more of a horror approach, as well as Spawn not really speaking. That works good with Jason or Michael Myers but some dialog would be good I hope they rethink that. I would like to see what the official word is from Todd McFarlane himself but Spawn not saying anything doesn’t sound right to me.
Since Spawn has been anticipated by fans of the comic, movies and video games here is the History of Spawn by Variant very entertaining and knowledgeable to watch and History of the Warrior talks about the real reason Spawn wasn’t in Injustice 2 well thought out and entertaining.

WILL 2 JOKERS BE THE BRIGHT IDEA THAT WILL DO DC COMICS JUSTICE?
If you had to choose the next Joker movie to be based around the one from Batman or Suicide Squad which would you pick? Personally as a fan of Suicide Squad and wanting to see something new I think it was good news that Jared Leto was getting an opportunity to play that version of the Joker to see where the story goes as this version looks different and even acts different. But for the sake of argument Joaquinn Phoenix playing the original Joker and having this version also a standalone movie seems like the best of both worlds.

MCU Could Tackle Horror Genre According to Kevin Feige
Marvel is thinking about getting in on the horror movie action and thinking about a few characters like Man-Thing and Blade. Blade one of the more popular characters in the Marvel Comics Universe already has a trilogy out on DVD and Blu-ray but getting a revamp wouldn’t hurt and I would like to see the direction they would. There is currently a Blade television show called Blade The Series you can watch now on the CW staring Kirk Jones (Sticky Fingaz from the group Onyx)
Joaquin Phoenix has just been officially announced as the Joker for the Origin film they are making, for any fans of Batman or the Joker check the new game Batman: The Enemy Within as well some of the older Batman games like Batman: Return to Arkham.

Batman: Return to Arkham includes what is considered to be 2 of the best games ever made now remastered for the new generation of players on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The game comes with 2 classics Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. With the power of the Unreal Engine 4 giving it that graphical upgrade it looks better then before. Even though it has received mixed reviews it is still worth the pick up whether you are a new to the series or played it on the previous systems.

‘Iron Harvest 1920+’ Content Roadmap Revealed
Tumblr media
(This article is credited to Ben Price. For as long as he can remember, Ben has always loved playing, discussing, and writing about video games. Since receiving his B.A. in English, he now writes about them for a living.)
Publisher Deep Silver and developer King Art Games have just revealed the Iron Harvest October roadmap, which will include brand new updates and additional content for the new RTS title.
Though the specific details for the month of October’s roadmap have not been fully elaborated on quite yet, it can be assumed that it will look similar to last month’s roadmap which consisted of weekly updates that introduced brand-new maps, modes, and gameplay features each week.
Taking a closer look at September’s roadmap, the content updates consisted of the following: a new 3v3 map and the addition of co-op for campaigns during the game’s 2nd week, a new 2v2 map and the game’s glossary on its 3rd week, the addition of ranked mode and auto-cast abilities on its 4th week, and finally a new 1v1 map on the 5th week.
If Iron Harvest’s first month of post-launch content is anything to judge by, players are in store for a fairly meaty amount of additional content for the month of October. It’s hard to say anything for certain, but if the game’s history is any indication, it looks as if the title will be receiving a new map almost every week and potentially more additional modes.
The additional content updates coming to Iron Harvest will be welcomed ones, as many game critics and players criticized the title upon its initial release for its slim amount of multiplayer maps and modes.
Tumblr media
Iron Harvest is a real-time strategy game that is set in the alternate reality of 1920+. Players control armies of men, as well as giant dieselpunk mechs, in both a massive single-player campaign as well as multiplayer and co-op modes in skirmishes or larger battles. The title launched with multiple modes, but looks as if it will continue to receive additional ones as the game continues to grow over time.
The world of Iron Harvest 1920+ is an alternate reality of our own, mainly being an alternate version of Europe during the 1920’s. The title was first based off of and inspired by the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1920. The Battle of Warsaw has been considered by many historians to be one of the most important battles in all of history, altering the course of European history and ending the Bolshevik’s march to the West. This game tells a different version of the history that we’re familiar with, introducing new and interesting “what if” scenarios from the era following the Great War.
Tumblr media
KING Art is a German indie game developer, best known for developing RTS games such as Kronos, The Dwarves, and The Book of Unwritten Tales games. The team also developed the noteworthy remaster of The Raven as well as the Black Mirror video game adaptation. Deep Silver has published countless titles, including the very popular Saints Row, Dead Island, and Metro franchises and is currently working on the highly anticipated Dead Island 2.
Iron Harvest first launched on September 1st, 2020 on PC via Steam and GOG, and is available now.

The 5 best Week 17 rivalry games in NFL primetime history
Tumblr media
Photo by Ray Carlin/Icon SMI/Corbis/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images
Sunday’s 49ers-Seahawks rematch is one of the biggest divisional games to ever end a season. Here’s a look at the finales it has to live up to.
On Sunday night, the 12-3 San Francisco 49ers will go on the road to face the 11-4 Seattle Seahawks in what should be one of the best Week 17 finales in NFL history. The winner of this one can earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC, which means a first-round bye and homefield advantage for the playoffs.
If Round One of this matchup is any indication, we’re in for a thriller. The first time, Seattle won 27-24 in overtime in what was easily one of the most exciting games of the NFL season. That Week 10 contest also gave the 49ers their first loss of the season. This time around, however, San Francisco will have its top receiver, tight end George Kittle, while the Seahawks will welcome the return of running back Marshawn Lynch.
Since 1990, when the league brought back the bye week, there has been a Week 17 on the NFL schedule every year. In that time, the Week 17 primetime slot usually goes to a rivalry game with big playoff implications. But that slot has never featured a game quite as big as a No. 1 seed being on the line for both teams.
Let’s take a look back at some of the best primetime divisional games in the final week of the season to see what the 49ers-Seahawks rematch has to live up to on Sunday night.
New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins, 1997
The Patriots were looking to repeat as AFC East champions for the first time in history — and win the division in Pete Carroll’s first year as head coach. They had started off the season hot, winning their first four games, but then they dropped five of their next seven games. Coming into Week 17, they were tied with the Dolphins at 9-6. The winner would take the division crown.
In a Monday Night Football clash, the Dolphins took a 6-0 halftime lead at home. Then Drew Bledsoe led the Patriots on two touchdown drives in the second half to put New England on top 14-6. Dan Marino responded with a touchdown pass to Lamar Thomas late in the fourth quarter. However, the two-point attempt failed. Marino got the ball back with less than two minutes left, but Lawyer Milloy picked him off on fourth-and-15, essentially clinching the 14-12 win, and the division, for the Patriots.
What happened in the playoffs: The AFC East title gave New England the chance to host a playoff game six days later against ... the Dolphins, who were a wild card team. The Patriots won again, this time by a 17-3 margin. They went on to lose in the Divisional Round to the Steelers.
Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts, 2007
The Titans were 9-6 and needed a win on the road to earn a wild card spot. If they lost, the Browns would be the sixth seed. Peyton Manning’s Colts were 13-2, and already had the No. 2 seed locked up in the AFC.
Lendale White lost a fumble in the third quarter and gave the Colts a short field to work with, down 7-3. Jim Storgi, in relief of Manning, got the Colts on top with a 3-yard touchdown pass. But Tennessee’s defense kept the Colts off the board after that.
This was fortunate for the Titans, who lost quarterback Vince Young on the ensuing possession due to a quad injury. That’s when veteran Kerry Collins, on his 35th birthday, came off the bench to lead three straight scoring drives. Kicker Rob Bironas made those three field goals to get the Titans a 16-10 victory and a wild card spot.
The Titans’ win kept the Browns out of the playoffs, and Cleveland still hasn’t made the postseason since.
What happened in the playoffs: Tennessee went on to lose to the Chargers in the Wild Card Round, and San Diego defeated Indianapolis in the next round.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys, 2013
One of the NFL’s fiercest rivalries wrapped up the 2013 season on Sunday Night Football. The Eagles were 9-6 and the Cowboys were 8-7, and the winner of the game would clinch the NFC East and a playoff spot.
The Cowboys had won the first matchup between the two teams in October. This time, though, they had to start Kyle Orton at quarterback thanks to a back injury to Tony Romo.
The Eagles took a 17-7 lead in the second quarter on a Nick Foles 14-yard touchdown pass, but Dallas countered with a field goal to make it a one-possession game at halftime. The second half came down to the wire. After the Eagles scored a touchdown with 6:09 left in the fourth quarter, Dallas was able to respond with a 32-yard touchdown pass from Orton to Dez Bryant. Down 24-22 with 3:50 to go, the Cowboys had no choice but to go for the two-point conversion. Orton’s pass attempt to Bryant was broken up by Cary Williams to hold off Dallas:

Although the Cowboys forced an Eagles three-and-out on the next drive, Orton threw a pick to seal it for Philadelphia. This marked the third time in a row the Cowboys lost a divisional game with a playoff spot on the line, which is pretty fitting for them this decade.
The Cowboys will clinch the NFC East with a win and an Eagles loss. If they miss the playoffs, the 2010s will be the only decade in franchise history in which they made the playoffs three or fewer times.

What happened in the playoffs: The Eagles lost to the Saints 26-24 in the first round of the playoffs, so this one didn’t have too much effect on the playoff picture. But at least they kept their biggest rivals out of the postseason!
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 2014
While both of these teams ended up making the playoffs, the AFC North was up for grabs in the 2014 Sunday Night Football finale at Heinz Field. The Steelers were 10-5, and the Bengals entered 10-4-1 coming off of a Monday Night Football win against the Denver Broncos that gave them a playoff berth.
The game was close throughout, though Pittsburgh held a 20-10 lead at the half. In the fourth quarter following a Ben Roethlisberger interception, Andy Dalton found Jermaine Gresham for a 5-yard touchdown pass to close the gap to 20-17. Then Pittsburgh tried an ill-advised fake punt, which ended with punter Brad Wing throwing a pick. A few plays later, Bengals receiver A.J. Green fumbled and left after taking a big blow to the head. The Steelers pulled away when Roethlisberger’s 63-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Brown sealed the Steelers’ 27-17 victory.
After the game, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin had words for Reggie Nelson. Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell left with a knee injury in the third quarter on a low hit from Nelson, and ended up missing the postseason. Somehow, this heated rivalry got worse from there.
What happened in the playoffs: In the playoffs, both of these teams ended up losing in the first round. The Steelers got the No. 3 seed and lost to the No. 6 seed Ravens, the third AFC North team to make the playoffs that season. The No. 5 seed Bengals went on the road and were dispatched by the Colts.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers, 2015
The final game of the 2015 season would decide the NFC North champions. Both teams entered at 10-5, and Green Bay at home was an easy favorite. The Packers had won the division for four straight years and hadn’t lost a game to Minnesota since the 2012 finale (a nail-biter in the afternoon slot that got the Vikings into the playoffs). The Vikings hadn’t won the division since 2009, which was also the last time they had emerged victorious at Lambeau Field.
The Sunday Night Football affair wasn’t the prettiest of games, but it did have plenty of drama. After Micah Hyde pulled off a one-handed interception against Teddy Bridgewater in the third quarter, the Vikings responded by forcing an Aaron Rodgers fumble. Captain Munnerlyn picked up the ball and took it 55 yards for a touchdown and a 20-3 lead for Minnesota.
The Packers answered right back with a touchdown and field goal to cut the deficit to 20-13. Then Cordarrelle Patterson ran back the kickoff for 70 yards and looked like he was about to score until kicker Mason Crosby forced a fumble, which was recovered by Hyde. Green Bay got down into red zone, and then on fourth-and-goal from Minnesota 13-yard line, Xavier Rhodes intercepted Rodgers in the end zone. That effectively secured the win and the division for the Vikings. The Packers settled for a wild card bid.
What happened in the playoffs: As the No. 3 seed, the Vikings hosted the No. 6 Seahawks on a frigid day in Minnesota. They lost a heartbreaker when kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-yard chip shot to give Seattle a 10-9 win. The Packers went on the road to beat Kirk Cousins’ Washington team before falling in a wild overtime game to the Cardinals in the Divisional Round.
How will the Week 17 finale between the 49ers and Seahawks compare to those games? Based on the stakes, it’s one of the most important ever — this game impacts the No. 1 seed in the NFC, which could end up with the Seahawks, 49ers, Packers, or even Saints. We can’t wait to see what this rematch has in store.
