Top 10 worst Bruce dad moments?
So here's the thing. I'm not actually like. That well versed in the comics yet? Again like. Only been here for about six months. But I'll do my best anyway
10. Firing Dick
HE FIRED DICK FROM BEING ROBIN. THE NICKNAME HIS MOTHER GAVE HIM. THEN GAVE SAID NICKNAME TO ANOTHER CHILD. WHAT THE FUCK.
9. Steph as Robin
Honestly everything about this is a mess. I've only read a few pages from this arc but Tim quitting being Robin was a really difficult decision and Bruce's response was to give the job to Tim's sort-of-ex girlfriend and then treat her like crap. I believe it's canonically cause she reminded him too much of Jason, but that might just be the fandom's reading of the subtext; either way, if the shoe fits...
8. Telling Damian if he was there, Alfred wouldn't have died
What the FUCK, Bruce, that is your SON. COMFORT HIM FOR THE LOSS OF HIS GRANDFATHER
7. Robin!Tim in general
Listen intentional or not Tim is written as a character that has very much internalized needing to be useful being more important than anything else. His parents simply prioritize work over him point blank - his dad doesn't even remember his birthday, for God's sake - and Bruce simply like. Does not help with this. If anything he takes advantage of it. Tim needs to be loved unconditionally, like, STAT, like, that would fix 70% of his identity issues kinda STAT, and I'm not sure he's ever felt that with Bruce
6. Free space: any time he's hit one of his children that I don't know about
I once reblogged a post that detailed every time he hit Dick but that's long gone into the ether now, I can't find it. Anyway there's no excuse to hit your child. Don't fucking do it. They shouldn't hit you, either, doesn't make it ok for you to do if they've done it fyi. Batman can do non violent solutions, we know this, so fucking use those on your children.
5. Reviving the joker
I believe Dick isn't necessarily mad about not having murdered a man basically in cold blood, but I am. What the fuck, Bruce. You tried to kill him twice, you really wanna tell me you don't understand the urge and NEED to kill him??? And then you BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE??? Again. As I've said. What the FUCK
4. Killing Dick and sending him off to Spyral
Actually Dick shouldn't ever forgive Bruce for anything he's ever done to him ever. Have you seen the panels where they have this argument? His family GRIEVES him and for what!!!! For WHAT
(I understand Grayson itself is actually great I wouldn't know I haven't read it. Doesn't make what Bruce did okay tho. I'm also not sure I trust the positive reviews it's written by Tim Seeley and Tom King like......)
3. RHatO Rebirth #25
Penguin didn't fucking die. He didn't get shot in the face with a real bullet. You don't beat your son half to death to the point where he needs to be RESCUED from you - actually no need to qualify that sentence with the intended "over something that didn't actually happen", you simply don't beat your son half to death, should be a no brainer and YET
2. UTRH end scene
Heartbreaking. We all know at this point. Batarang to the throat. Chooses the Joker over Jason. It's enough to make a fully grown (25 next month) man (eh) cry (I mean. Yeah)
1. INTENTIONALLY TRIGGERING JASON
See here for the ask where I talked about this (and which is presumably the ask that led to this anon). Taking Jason to Ethiopia with no warning when he's cooperating anyway just to intentionally trigger him in order to try to get Damian back to life when you never did anything like that for Jason? Holy fucking shit, you know? Just betrayal after betrayal after betrayal
Anyway I'm sure this list is missing some major moments and I'd love to know what I forgot about or, more likely, simply don't know about! I love a well written good dad!Bruce fic but lbr that's just not what he's like in canon. Calling him a mixed bag as a father figure is an understatement

Alright so the Gotham Historian podcast is still happening. It's not gonna be a high quality high budget thing unfortunately its essentially me w my own lil recording app just yammering away about Batman 😂.
The first scripts almost done. It was gonna be shorter and then I found something interesting so now it's gonna be longer and it'll be discussing Batmans very first appearance ever, Detective Comics #27.
The second script I'm trying to pull in as much research as I can for it because it's about the early publication history and creation of Batman. It will namely be focused on Bill Finger and some of the other contributors, such as Jerry Robinson, and not so much on Bob Kane. Because Bob Kane got over 70 years of the spotlight to himself for essentially just being the salesman for Batman while everyone else did all the work. I will have rants about this.
Third episode will be all about explaining the Bat Familys various members, how it came to be, and even some looks at the Wayne family tree itself.
Fourth episode will be about Batmans Rogues Gallery. And, yes, you will be hearing so much about Lord Death Man, because goddamnit he gives me so much seratonin in the midst of my major depression. I fucking love Larry.
Fifth episode will be dedicated to both mapping out Gotham, explaining Wayne Industries a bit more and also going into some of the different Batman gadgets. It's the catch all episode for that.
After those episodes, I have ideas, just figuring out the episode order, but it'll be going across just all sorts of different topics and if anyone wants anything specific I will absolutely do it.
For now, some of the ones I know I'm gonna be talking about are
An entire in depth episode for a milestone talking about Pre/Post Crisis Jason, leading up to his death and everything around A Death in the Family, and about how he wasn't the angry asshole or "little snot" that his writers at the time tried to say he was.
The wildest Batman controversies, and, yes, The Selfish Lover one is at the top of that list.
Some different storylines across the Batfamily and their villains, such as Tower of Babel, Long Halloween, We Are Robin, Year One, etc.
The best episodes of BTAS.
Debating on if i just want to make a really long post about why Lego Batman and Mask of the Phantasm are the best theatrically released Batman films (with the Burton films being just right behind them) or if I should do it for the podcast.
The issue where Bruce got to save his parents.
The issue where Batman wanted to lobotomize the Joker.
The importance of Oracle.
How I would do a Batfam series of cinematic or television releases.
The Himbo Bruce Wayne Argument. I do briefly talk about it in the first episode. There will be an entire episode dedicated to this because I will die on this hill.
Probably the best episodes or highlights of the different movie and tv show adaptations of the Batfam or those moments that really hit hard. I probably won't touch on the Nolan films or Pattinsons Batman bc I don't like them and I don't really feel like just sitting there talking about shit that I don't like bc others like them and thats okay find your enjoyment wherever you can dudes.
Also don't really wanna talk about Tom King and Devin Grayson, because they have both pulled so much fuckshit with their runs and I just
Different episodes going more in depth into specific characters beyond just my explanations in the 3rd and 4th episodes; such as deeper dives into Dukes powers and also where his story can take him, finding identity with Tim (since the writers cannot figure out what his hero name is anymore and also lets not forget btas just making him jason with tims name and costume), Harleys character growth, why Two Face would make for an infinitely better archnemesis for Batman than the Joker, etc etc.
WAYNE FAMILY ADVENTURES MY BELOVED.
I got a ton more but those are just some of what I've been thinking of and again if anyone wants a specific topic I am more than happy to talk about it. But just know that it is on the way and I'm just excited to be able to share thoughts and information with everyone because Batmans been my favorite thing since I was at least 3 years old.

Honestly, I believe people just operate under the thought process of, if it's the most popular opinion, it's the right opinion.
I also believe people want to be justified for liking something. Like you said with the whole you liked DC more than Marvel. I know alot of people with that opinion. And when I ask then why. They get into a long discussion about everything Marvel does wrong compared to DC. While toning down or ignoring DCs many problems.
It doesn't need to be better for you to like it more. It doesn't even need to be good.
And yh your right it's sad. It like people are fighting to like something rather than actually liking it.
Like I used to defend 'Suicide Squad' I don't even know why, or can even remember to comprehend what I could've possibly defended it for. Not a single thought is passing through my mind of what I could even say now to defend it besides "Joker looked pretty accurate if you took the way the tattoos and gave him his teeth back", but I don't think that's really defending it, 'cause I'm still implying they didn't make him look quite right.
But to be more on topic I think you're very much right. Some people are naturally defensive, and I think every human has an ego to them (Not to the level of egomaniac, but everyone has an ego to some extent) that can be easily breakable by associating anything they liked to 'flawed' will upset them greatly.
The best time I've had running this blog is when I knocked off acting like I liked some things that honestly I really didn't. Like while it's still a good read to an extent, I don't honestly care for Young Justice that much, as in the original Young Justice. Love those characters, but the series didn't understand Tim (mainly just him) or Cassie well (They said she was soft-spoken. Cassie? Soft-spoken? Did they read the Bryne run? Her creator?), or even Bart at times (though Bart better than them), and they were my favs. So I have nothing to really go back to read. I don't wanna read a Tim that's in his Robin persona so much it doesn't feel like Tim anymore after a while.
It's like with Tom Holland Spider-Man fans talking about how he's the most accurate--and I'm saying this as a Tom Holland Spider-Man fan. He is not the most accurate live action Spider-Man lmao
So much time fighting that I don't honestly feel any love for things anymore. Just bitterness.
Then there's the Bat-Family stans just regurgitating what other people say like it's fact when sometimes it's not even remotely true. But getting so bitter about it at the same time like--Where's the actual love for the stuff anymore? When you have to have someone else think for you, and all you do is feel bitter all the time, and at best get mild enjoyment sometimes out of it, do you really love it anymore?
There's a part of basic human nature involved with it. So it's hard to get directly mad at any one single person. But it is pretty exhausting the more I see it.

DC's Batwoman 3.13 "We Having Fun Yet?" has aired on the CW and I'm here to talk about it
Season finale time. This one is for all the marbles. And the thing about season finales is that there's usually a lot less to say. Most of the meat of the finale was last episode, the penultimate.
Amusement Mile, of course. I wish Mad Hatter 2.0 had been the villain, not Joker 2.lame. Gotta keep the Alice in Wonderland theme going!! Or even keep Ivy around! She was great!
I feel so bad for Beth. Which is kind of great. Keeping her around so long has let her become one of the most developed villains in the Arrowverse.
I do appreciate this kind of conversation about Beth and Marquis. Why is everyone but Mary so certain that Marquis is a victim and can be helped, but not Beth? They're both victims who can be saved and they both deserve the chance. I still stand by my thought that the joy buzzer won't work on Beth the way it would Marquis, but Beth deserves the chance to recover just as much as Marquis does.
A blimp. Of course, it's a blimp.
Not Condiment King being canon ashjdahsdhaslhdas.
Finally some useful shit from Jada Jet. The computer, exposing Marquis, giving Ryan her shit back.
Why is the Joker plan just rain acid over Gotham? That's not even a good OG Joker plan.
Ryan's going on and on about doing this for family and wanting Marquis back but she never knew Marquis. Marquis hasn't been around since he was seven.
I swear if they kill your gays Ryan.
And there's Beth's evil genius! And Alice putting in the work to become Beth again going forward??
Even if the buzzer does actually work, I really hope they don't use it so magic cureall for Marquis. He deserves the chance to be free of this and recover, but he should have to put in the work. The buzzer can help from the actual crazy, but all that guilt and trauma?
Ryan and Sophie are so cute.
Skeleton man who are you?! I kinda wanna say Mr Bones because he has connections to Kate & Beth but he's gonna be the season 3 baddie of Stargirl. Maybe Atomic Skull? But he's a Superman villain. I'm already seeing some theories that it could be a character named Blight. I don't really know who that is but they're usually a Batman Beyond villain. They could also only be a skeleton for this shot and it'll be Scarecrow or someone. Fun tease!
Despite that fun tease, from what I can tell, there's no official confirmation of Batwoman season 4. It could be announced tomorrow, it could be announced in a month, or there might not be one. Other than that tease, this really did feel like a pretty solid potential series finale. But Batwoman isn't the only show that hasn't been confirmed yet. Neither has Legends, Superman & Lois, or Naomi from what I can find right now, March 2nd. Again, they might not get announced until after their finales. And if this is the end of Batwoman, we do know that the CW is working on a Gotham Knight's show primarily about the Robins (rumour has it the show will mostly be about Dick Grayson, Stephanie Brown, and Harper Row) that could pick up with whatever this tease was and likely fold in the Batwoman cast. I however would be willing to bet on Batwoman season 4.
I didn't have a lot to talk about with this finale, it was mostly action which isn't the most commentable thing. A lot of the emotional weight was in episode 12. As much as I rag on Marquis, I hope that we get to see more of both his and Beth's road to recovery in future seasons. I'm sure I'll come back to this finale with more thoughts in the future.
As always at the end of a season, I have to say thank you to those who follow these talks, they're always fun to do. It'll be a while but I'm excited to get back to these with Stargirl season 3, Batwoman season 4, and Gotham Knights whenever that happens. Until next time.

The redhood nightwing fight scenes look like they're gonna be dope af like thats all I'm thinking about how awesome the fight scenes are (hopefully) gonna be (I'm already finding it difficult to see this jason as redhood cuz he's like literally a child but I dunno what age he redhooded in the comics so??)
I had no idea tim was even gonna be in it !?! Can I please get some kind of recognition from the batboys that they actually view each other as brothers and family! 😢
Someone needs to kill the joker It'd be kinda interesting if old bruce killed joker and it'd be nice if that was the last thing he did as batman buuuttt then again it'd be a nice touch if dick killed joker for jason, it would personally be disappointing if joker was just let live not gonna lie i really want bruce to kill him and that be the reason he gives up being batman because he failed to protect jason and then he broke his no killing thing so he just hangs up the cape
we are getting FEAR TOXIN yassssss cue awesome nightmare ish fearscapes (no idea if that's an actual word but that's what I call when you get to see everyone's fear hallucination)
Kory I love you, I do ship dickkory however I feel like she's too good for dick and should marry me instead lol I wanna see how donna is still alive? and I know there's people who are like ughh hank dawn go away already but I really freakin like hank and dawn as characters even though their suits are ridiculous did they break up last season I can't remember? Hank needs a break poor man someone give him a blanket and a hug and let him sit the fuck down everybody leave hank alone
That line where babs is like don't try be your father and dick is like excuse me what you saying there Commissioner Gordon, that will never not be funny 😅😅😅
I ain't in love with this show it has so much potential it could be so lit but I do like it anndd they got suits now whoop!
Wait is this my previous Titans anon? (The one where we ranted about Jason, or the one thinking they hadn’t seen S2 but went to watch it and realized they had? Or are you the same person? xD )And if so are you the same one who asked for the comic and fic recs? Just wondering in terms of if I’m talking to one person or not hahaha
But ahh I got so excited when I saw I got an ask about this 😍
Omg the nightwing red hood fight already got me so stressed lol. It looks great but ahh angst! But I think Jason is like 19ish in most versions when he comes back? Though tbh I forgot what age Jason is in this , I’ll have to see when i rewatch it soon. Curran, the actor, is actually 23, he just looks super young/short. He got pretty buff though. But yeah, that is an unfortunate thing wi the them rushing it already but also, I’d rather have it like this than if they were gonna spread it out through the seasons then it gets cancelled or something (poor Gotham s5, RIP). I think he was the PERFECT robin jason Todd though. Like I love his acting and portrayal of Jason(“Titans are back bitches!” classic Jason), he just is young looking and short. Gosh I still wanna know if they are going with the Lazarus pit for Jason or not! But like that also begs the question of whether they are doing a time skip cause normally Jason is dead for like 2-3ish years, but it doesn’t look like it from the trailer.
And yes, I’ve been looking forwards to Tim!!! While the trailer didn’t show it, the actor was on set a lot over these last couple of months (I’ve been keeping up with their instagrams xD) and seemed super close with the cast! I can’t believe the first look we got if Tim was him nearly crying, though that look already won me over, I love him and he is my son now. But RIGHT! That’s all I want, is the bat bros platonic love, gosh dang it😭 that’s all we want DC😭
BRO! OLD MAN BRUCE KILLING JOKER WOULD BE FREAKING PERFECT. Dang it! Now I’m gonna be so disappointed if that doesn’t happen 🤣gosh it would be perfect, and normally I would be like it’s Bruce, they would never do that, BUT, this show does that kind of “edgy” stuff anyway so if it’s ever gonna happen(without the Batman who Laughs plot line happening(which would make a perfect dc animated movie btw)), it would happen in this show, especially with what was shown in the trailer with him giving Batman up. Man, now my hopes are up for that xD though I wouldn’t mind if Dick killed him. I would be shocked though if they had the balls to actually kill off joker though, dc seems to refuse to do that :/
Omg I squealed at the scarecrow part omg. Dr freaking Crane is a big reason I spiraled down this entire fandom tbh. Like literally a year ago I got obsessed with him for some reason and that led into the Bat hole where I am currently WAY deeper than I ever would have thought 😂 and while I’m not hyper fixated on him anymore, I still love him so much and is my 2nd fav rogue, and it mainly started with Jonathan 🥺 we barely even see his face and I am already in love with the casting, the voice is perfect. And I LOVE when villains have to help the heroes, that is like one of my fav tropes ever omg, I was really hoping they were gonna do that to him. I hope he is in it for more than one episode tho. And oh lordy, like those poor Titans need even more trauma in their lives and now fear gas is in the equation. Oh no, I bet poor Gar is gonna get hit cause they just love to torture that poor boy. And tbh I hope the fearscapes(perfect word for it) will be better than most of the Gotham ones, those seemed a tad cheesy tbh
Lmao about you and kory😂 she is too good for him, but also, this Dick needs someone who can kick his ass and get his head out of his martyr butt 😂 tho tbh, I’m still not fully sold on Dickkory, Like I don’t hate it but I don’t LOVE it in many versions, like they can be cute but no strong feelings, the Original Teen Titans cartoon is like the only exception, I def ship those 2
Omg I low key forgot Donna “died”😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like I knew it wouldn’t last so it didn’t have a big impact on me lol. Like I had/have a feel raven is gonna bring her back. I wanna know what happened to Rose/Joey! Like are they not gonna be in it at all? Especially with Jason going off the deep end?!
Lmao, hawk and dove’s suits😂 I think they did break up, I’ve only seen the series once through tbh, planning to rewatch before S3 tho(and try to force my mom to watch it tho she is convinced everything DC is too dark for her lmao), yeah, I don’t mind them, like I don’t want the focus on them but like they deserve to be happy/need a break, omg yes! That boy needs to be wrapped in a blanket and given a break, that grumpy boy is TIRED. Let him rest!
Lmao! That babs line is so great😂
I’m just so excited for all this live action Batfam content, considering the live action movies NEVER give us Batfam 😭(we aren’t talking about the 80’s/90’s live action robin lmao)
Also so sorry this was so long 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️
