The Missing Bridges of The Song is The Clue

Which song? "You know which one," says Shax. The one, the only, A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square.

Why is this song The Clue? Because of the gaps - that's right, plural - the missing BRIDGES, specifically these two, as performed by Elsie Carlisle:

For clarity, I know that I could be incorrectly labeling the song structure, however this is my understanding, having once-upon-a-time performed a barbershop arrangement of it, back when I had no emotional connection to the song and was just there to hear the chords ring. Of course I'm in love with the song now!

My memory of the sheet music began with an Introduction (not performed here: "When true two lovers meet in Mayfair...") Then all stanzas we are familiar with in the Tori Amos recording are the Verses ending with Refrain/Chorus(song title).

Tori Amos' performance includes an Instrumental break - not an Instrumental Verse, but an Instrumental BRIDGE, in place of the real First Bridge. Singing along recently, I found myself adding it back in and making connections, not to 1941, but to the 25 Lazarii miracle:

The moon that lingered over London town

Poor puzzled moon, he wore a frown

The grandfather clock in the east corner of the bookshop, with the moon dial - it appears to be frowning with the wind-up thingamajig, if that's what it is, which is nothing new, but because the moon dial seems to be stuck in the same approximate "third quarter" position, (even in 1941, though that could be a coincidence), together with the glitching behaviour of the clock hands - this clock/these clocks are simply untrustworthy for most of the time, though by the final episode, both have only just normalised/re-aligned before seeming to jump forward together, for perhaps an entirely different reason to what I'm about to put forward.

I thought another possibility for "frowning" would be if the moon phase was either waxing or waning crescent, whichever presents as a frown in the northern hemisphere's London sky.

Does the turnip become a crescent moon in the opening credits title sequence?

However, I want to believe that The Arrival & 25 Lazarii miracle "happened" on Thursday 31st August 2023, - not a crescent moon at all, but a "blue moon" AND Super Full Moon.

How could he know we two were so in love

The whole darned world seemed up-side-down

Notice the moment everything briefly turns/rotates up-side-down in the opening credits title sequence.

What would happen if the world actually turned up-side-down?

I feel "yeah-nah" about that, especially since the display globe in Heaven appears unchanged as Saraqael locates and zooms in on The Plume Of Miraculous Activity. What seems more likely, (where there could be changes that interfere with gravity and stuff around the world's analogue clocks) is:

What Would Happen if the Magnetic North and South Poles Reversed?

A quick search took me to this website, https://www.livescience.com/18426-earth-magnetic-poles-flip.html An interesting read, but here are several quotes that may be relevant to the GO universe:

"… Earth's magnetic field takes between 1,000 and 10,000 years to reverse, and in the process, it greatly diminishes before it re-aligns. "It's not a sudden flip, but a slow process, during which the field strength becomes weak, very probably the field becomes more complex and might show more than two poles for a while, [see image provided by NASA on website] and then builds up in strength and [aligns] in the opposite direction," … "

"… we cannot see or feel the presence of the geomagnetic field now, we most likely would not notice any significant change from a reversal…"

"… Our technology definitely would be in danger, however. Even now, solar storms can damage satellites, cause power outages and interrupt radio communications… "

Maybe some humans, who are like bees, also become disoriented, occasionally appearing to walk back and forth multiple times in the background on Whickber Street.

Maybe poor old Leviathan becomes a little disoriented too. (As well as lonely... go on Crowley, make them a whale friend!)

We've been shown the days following the urgent 25 Lazarii miracle - was there a similar build-up in the days leading up to it? Or with just two poles to reverse it would have all gone unnoticed anyway, unless...

Is Gabriel's presence The Tempest (or the fly with who knows how many things inside), causing a temporary third magnetic pole to form? Could Crowley's lightning bolt have contributed?

What about how, in the opening credit title sequence, the world turns up-side-down, but one bridge ALSO joins up with another? Consider the lyrics of the

2nd Bridge:

When dawn came steeling up all gold and blue

Note the approaching dawn over Soho in the title sequence, once the world has righted itself (an aborted magnetic pole reversal?). Then how The Bentley drives away, splashing up water (left behind after a disoriented Leviathan is attracted to a third magnetic pole?). Is this why Crowley and Aziraphale are chilling out together on the roof?

To interrupt our rendezvous

I still remember how you smiled and said,

Was that a dream, or was it true?

Likely how Aziraphale "helps" to decrease human suffering of the mind, "best forget all about it" or in season 1, "you will wake, having had a lovely dream about whatever you like best." Was this his final contribution to the 25 Lazarii miracle? A variation could be not to forget, but to remember whatever happened during the 25 Lazarii miracle as a dream - that would be good news for Nina and Maggie, if you believe the image on their vintage playlist is of a scene already filmed.

In season 2 episode 2, "present day", Aziraphale is deep in thought, perhaps reflecting on the urgent miracle from the night before, as he glances up and out of the bookshops' North-West front window.

Even though the east-corner clock reads thirty-five past ten, three bells sound - is that coming from the west-corner clock? (making it a "striking clock" rather than a "chiming/tubular bells clock"?) These sound exactly like the three bells Anathema acknowledges before telling Adam that she needs to get "back to work."

Aziraphale then returns to his shop-front desk to resume reading from an open pile of 3-4 books nestled into each others' spines. I wonder if they are books on science, on geomagnetism.

Damaged Alice is being reworked because I decided that I wasn't happy with how the ballet studio scene turned out, I wanted to flesh out Alice and Bella's friendship because it lacked a lot of nuance - especially regarding Edward and Alice's relationship in this 'verse, and I wanted to completely retcon how New Moon transpired. I'm hoping there will be something from this 'verse for Whumptober or Ficmas, but I'm still in planning stages.

Hybrid is being a monster, as per usual. It's just going to be this massive, huge fic, and I'm still on the fence about splitting into two or three separate fics. I also fantastically messed up the timeline, and rage-quit the outline when I realised my error. But like, my outlines are more like friendly suggestions anyway, so we persevere.

But more pieces are being put into place - we've got some bonding between Emmett and Alice, we've got Cynthia being a trolling little gremlin to her older sister, and Alice to have a hard time when the Cullens return ala New Moon.

I think it's pretty unrealistic that Bella just forgave Edward the way she did. He took her agency, he lied and left her for dead in the forest, but she immediately forgives him because he tried to kill himself because he thought she was dead? Gross. And a mental health event like that is going to leave scars. So it's going to - on Bella and Alice.

There's also loads of world building going into it - Alice's 'history' with James, Carlisle's friendship with the Denali coven, the Cullens having their own friends outside of the family, and a lot more supernatural history in the US. I'd love to bring the Chinese coven into Hybrid via Carlisle's history but at this point, I've got a lot of Stuff happening, and I'll probably save them for another fic. We'll see.

As for the Baby-verse version, I'm contemplating retconning Alice and Jasper's reunion to be harder. So much change is happening, Alice was abandoned by the Cullens during the hardest time of her life, she's not going to easily trust that they have her back again - let alone that of her son. I'm also super committed to getting Maria involved (listen, there was a wild AU version discussed where Alice goes to Maria for protection and the pair of them raising the baby as a platonic couple. Jasper's living in Hell trying to reconcile with Alice and meet his son because Maria's there being a pest).

I really want the baby-verse version to be satisfying to read - bittersweet in that Alice and Jasper have this family together but, like all things in life, it's temporary: Oliver is mortal. Alice won't live forever. And that's what makes it beautiful, that's what makes it a love story. I don't enjoy kidfic at the best of times, but I abhor kidfic that creates a perfect, flawless ending. Families are messy and constantly evolving. But that's a TED Talk for another time.

I took forever to answer this, so I've got a snippet below of Cynthia and Alice's first big argument below, from the main Hybrid fic. I hope you like it and THANK YOU for the message!

After dinner, I distracted myself with homework - finals were looming, and I wasn’t exactly ready. It was a good distraction, knowing that Jasper was at the meeting with the Pack tonight, and there was so much on my mind I didn’t want to think about. Dad and Simon knew something was up, but neither Cynthia nor I had cracked. I didn’t want to bring them into this more than they already were.

And for that, I blamed the Clearwaters. It was one thing for them to decide to explain the Pack to my parents; it was entirely another thing for them to offer their one-sided perspective on the Cullens without permission. They had broken the treaty, but the Cullens wouldn’t harm them. If it had been the other way around…

Economics did not distract me enough; my mind moved through the questions but I was still listening for the sound of Jasper at my window or for my phone to chime...

There was a knock at my door that I ignored; I had no interest in repeating my conversations with my parents regarding the Cullens, until I could corner Esme and Carlisle into talking them through everything calmly and reasonably. And I was still furious with Cynthia's part in Saturday afternoon's side-quest on the Res.

There was another knock, but my sister didn't bother to wait for me to grant her access this time.

“Alice?” Cynthia slipped into my room looking nervous. “Are you still mad with me?”

“Mmm-hmm,” I said, not even looking up from my notebook.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realise it would upset you this much…” Cynthia began, and I froze. “It was just… Sam said that you just needed to hang out for a while so they could talk to the Cullens. Seth said everything would be fine and…”

“Are you really that damn naive?” I snapped, finally spinning on my chair. Cynthia jumped at my sudden movement, and I distantly realised that this was the first time I’d yelled at her; we didn’t really fight or argue. A little bit of bickering over insignificant things was more our flavour of disagreement. “Sam Uley held me hostage because Jacob Black would never allow Bella Swan to be a bargaining chip. They were trying to force the Cullens’ hand… Seth and Jasper could have died today, and you think I was just ‘hanging out’?”

“What are you even talking about?” Cynthia’s voice wavered slightly.

“They’re dangerous on a good day, you get that right? You’ve seen Emily’s face - that’s what happens to girls who get too close to the wolves,” I said nastily.

“Oh, and the bite scar on your neck is just this year’s hot look?” Cynthia crossed her arms over her chest, and looked me dead in the eye but I could still hear the quiver in her voice.

Honestly, I nearly slapped her for that. The only thing that stopped me was that I wasn’t in the business of hitting people who didn’t hit me first - and I’d probably break Cynthia’s nose if I went after her right now.

“You keep acting like Jasper’s the second goddamn coming of Christ, but he left you!” Cynthia continued. “He tried to kill you! Seth hasn’t done anything to me, but he’s the villain!”

I tossed my pen onto my desk before I snapped it in half.

“Do you know anything about the Pack? Have they told you a damn thing about the treaty?” I asked in an icy voice.

“You keep saying things like that, and not telling me anything!” Cynthia threw up her hands. "You’ve got to actually give me an explanation for everything that has happened instead of keeping me in the dark and getting mad at me!”

“Why would I bother when you’ve already taken their side? When you’re co-ordinating with Sam Uley to have me held hostage over Bella Swan?”

brainrotting bellamy's volturi verse. info about it under the cut. (if you like this post i will assume u want to plot in this verse and come bother u )

this verse deviates from canon from new moon onwards. rather than suffering in silence and growing closer with jacob... bellamy takes things into his own hands. he's angry and not thinking straight.

he makes a series of impulsive decisions in an attempt to avoid popping up on alice's radar, even though he's not even sure if she's still watching over him or not.

these impulsive decisions end with him in volterra. this is where he gets a little lost. he doesn't know exactly where the volturi hide themselves but this is where his supernatural-magnet self comes in handy.

one of the volturi are drawn to him - who this is can be verse dependent !

he explains to them who he is and how he knows about vampires and begs them to take him to aro. he wants to be turned.

at this point, he's not thinking about the danger this could put the cullen's in... he's just desperate to be turned. to "stick it" to edward.

the guard takes him to the kings, and this is where it gets a little messy because i don't want to assume anything...!

but basically he ends up a vampire and becomes extremely loyal to the volturi for fulfilling his wish. he remains extremely angry at the cullens for abandoning him. specifically the ones that he was close to. edward is a given, but he's actually more upset at emmett , alice & carlisle / esme .

what do you think of The Children of the Moon?

(I have not read the Twilight Guide so I have no clue whether we know much more about them from it than from the books)

How do you think they differ from the shapeshifters?

also, how do you think of the vampires of twilight? as some sort of other predatory species, or parasites, almost science-like or fully as just supernatural? sometimes I think that vampires are depicted just as an evolutionary phenomenon in canon... which makes me question how can the shapeshifters exist in the same universe as their legends telling how they came to be are so rooted in spirituality and supernatural, with the whole souls thing

The Children of the Moon are a very small, but all the more fascinating part of the Twilight worldbuilding.

They’re worse than vampires. They’re just as powerful if not more so (or they wouldn’t be able to kill a vampire singlehandedly), they’re feral, and they prey on humans. What is described in the wiki is essentially unusually powerful vampires without any control, and most of the time you can’t find them because they’re human.

I think the Children of the Moon are one of the reasons the Volturi are necessary. A creature with their powerlevel could easily level a entire village in one night, and that’s not to mention the fact that unlike vampires, who are largely detached from human society and have no interest in it, the Children of the Moon are still humans in the day, meaning they are a part (however fringe) of society and have human interests. And as being a lycanthrope would pretty easily fuck up their lives (good luck having any kind of home stability when you turn into a vampire-killing apex predator at night), which would make these people ripe for radicalization or being taken advantage of. What I’m saying is, they would become weapons of war. Get even just one of these people inside the enemy stronghold before a full moon, and bam. Your enemy has been decimated.

That was supposed to be a paragraph on the Volturi and the Children of the Moon, it went off-topic - what I planned to say is, these creatures are extremely dangerous, to humans, to themselves, and to society at large. And, as I explained in the linked meta about why the Volturi are necessary, the reason why the law exists in the first place is because saying “don’t hunt in excess” would have been too subjective to effectively enforce. Aro’s solution of making vampires a secret from the world is a sensible solution. And werewolves who ravage entire villages at full moon and threaten the food supply are very much not secret. They may not be vampires, but they’d still be a threat to the secret, and as such to vampires.

The Volturi would, following the ethical standard laid down by their law, be as justified to take out a Child of the Moon as they are in taking out an immortal child.

And this is where we get into how the Children of the Moon imply some very exciting things about the Twilight worldbuilding.

Though, to answer your question about vampires being magical or biological before I go any further - I think it’s both. I think vampires are a species of their own, a sentient and cloned single-cell parasitical superorganism that converts the host body into an ideal climate. I also think they’re magical, or they wouldn’t have gifts. And there’s something magical about some of the more impossible things they do, like run across snow without leaving footprints. They’re the xenomorphs from Alien, with magic.

More, and this is where the exciting worldbuilding comes in, magic clearly does exist in the Twilight world. Shapeshifters exist, Children of the Moon exist, and gifted humans exist.

And this raises the question: why, in this fantastical world of magic and sci-fi, are these the only creatures we hear about? I’m sure there are more creatures Bella hasn’t heard of, Carlisle’s friends and the Volturi were unsurprised enough by the existence of the shapeshifters (if brand new supernatural creatures were unheard of, they would have made a much bigger deal out of these teens turning into werewolves. Their quick acceptance is telling) that non-vampire creatures are clearly a thing. And yet, the vampire community is just that, it’s a vampire community. We don’t hear a single word of any other creature, nothing. Carlisle has no mermaid friends. When the Volturi enforce their law, they speak only of humans and vampires, not humans and vampires, fairies, elves, and witches.

It seems that if these other types of creatures exist, and it is likely they do (or did), then by the time canon begins they’re either small minorities or straight up extinct.

And it just so happens that Twilight is a 'verse where we have an elite force of organized executioners who have devoted themselves to keeping the humans unaware of the existence of vampires, at any price necessary.

And we know, from the Volturi taking out the Children of the Moon, that this force already wiped one supernatural species.

There’s also the fact that while the Children of the Moon were more powerful than vampires, the reason why people speak of them might be because they were more powerful than vampires. I doubt this would apply to every supernatural species: if it did, vampires would not have risen to become the dominating species that they are in the present day.)

Then there’s the fact that so much real life myth and lore features things that go bump in the night as threatening to humans. Sirens, nøkker, nisser, huldre, trolls, so many creatures (I’ll admit I mostly used myths from my own culture’s folklore for this listing) are in some way sinister. They’ll trick us, damn us, or kill us, and within the Twilight world where these myths can be assumed to have a grain of truth in them, the Volturi might have a problem with these creatures.

I think, within Twilight canon, we have reason to believe that there used to be far more supernatural creatures around than there are now, and that these were driven extinct by the Volturi.

Depending on what these other creatures were and whether they too preyed on humans, or were in other way obstructions to vampires, or just fun to hunt, it is also likely that other, non-Volturi vampires helped drive them to extinction.

(On that note: I think the shapeshifters are safe from the Volturi. They’re not a threat to humans, on the contrary their raison d’être is to protect them. In one of their myths, their ancestor prevented the slaughter of their tribe. On top of this they even take secrecy seriously, Bella who already knew about vampires and Embry’s own mother weren’t allowed to know about the shapeshifters. The Volturi should have no quarrel with them.)

evermore / twilight saga correlations 🌲✨

willow: Alice & Jasper because she “saw him” before he knew her. The lyric, “life was a willow and it bent right to your wind, head on the pillow, I could feel you sneaking in” made me think that this type of feeling was Alice’s pov. Also, “I come back stronger than a 90′s trend” is SUCH Alice attitude. Also relatable to Edward/Bella in that he is “wrecking her plans” being human and she is begging him to “take her hand” in changing her to be with him forever but whatever

champagne problems: about Jacob from Bella’s pov when he receives her and Edward’s wedding invite. Champagne problems means insignificant problems in the grand scheme of things, yet feels big to the person/people dealing with the problem. These problems could be those such as the problems brought upon Jacob and his family by Bella being with Edward/the Cullens. Lyrics like “your Midas touch on the Chevy door” goes back to early moments such as Bella’s first time seeing Jacob since they were young as Charlie is showing her the Chevy he bought her from Billy as well as moments in New Moon when they would drive in the Chevy together.

gold rush: I immediately thought of the rush/euphoria/drama of Edward and the Cullens and the way they are perceived at school for being “gorgeous”. Bella’s first interaction with Edward and getting to know him. Also thought of Rosalie’s beauty and how stunning she is depicted to be.

‘tis the damn season: New Moon!!!! Specific lyrics like, “I won’t ask you to wait if you don’t ask me to stay” and “there’s an ache in you, put there by the ache in me” (Bella’s pov) “the only soul who can tell which smiles I’m faking” and “Time flies, messy as the mud on your truck tires” (Jacob’s pov)

tolerate it: This one could be Edward’s pov @ Bella or Bella’s pov @ Edward. In Edward’s pov, he feels constant guilt in having Bella involved with him. I thought of the pregnancy bath scene when Bella takes off her robe and Edward watches her from behind, feeling completely disgusted with himself and what he’s done. In Bella’s pov, she feels she is putting his family in danger for her life, constantly feeling like a burden because of her clumsiness and weakness as a human.

TW // r*pe | no body, no crime: Honestly, I thought of Rosalie killing Royce and her r*pists right away with this one.

happiness: New Moon; Bella dealing with the depression and nightmares from Edward leaving her. Specifically the lyrics, “Past the blood and bruise, past the curses and cries. Beyond the terror in the nightfall haunted by the look in my eyes that would've loved you for a lifetime”.

dorothea: I thought of Carlisle and Esme. They are the most wholesome couple of the series in my opinion and I picture parts of this song depicting Carlisle’s pov of their relationship when they first met. Lyrics like, “when we were younger down in the park, honey, making a lark of the misery” make me think of the resentment they felt early on toward their immortal life, but making the best of it together.

coney island: Matt Berninger’s verse is Edward’s pov after leaving Bella. “What's a lifetime of achievement if I pushed you to the edge? But you were too polite to leave me.” and “Will you forgive my soul when you're too wise to trust me and too old to care?” This goes back to the constant guilt Edward is feeling for his involvement in Bella’s life.

ivy: I thought of Bella no longer wanting to be a human with the lyric, “the old widow goes to the stone every day but I don't, I just sit here and wait grieving for the living” and “my pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand” referring to her feelings toward Edward.

cowboy like me: Literally just thought of Jasper. Also Charlie Swan and Billy Black...in this house 🏠 we stan the dads. long story short: New Moon! Bella subconsciously falling in love with Jacob during their blossoming friendship; fixing motorcycles in his garage and spending time together, he gets her mind off losing Edward and helps pull her out of her depression. I literally picture this song on the soundtrack like WHILE Bella and Jacob are in the garage together.

marjorie: Bella’s dream seeing her grandmother in the mirror, but it was really herself grown elderly and grey.

closure: I immediately thought of Leah and Sam with this one; specifically Leah’s pov. The hurt she felt when Sam left her for Emily and is forced to be in closeness with him through the pack. Leah is one of the best characters and I’m sad she never got a brighter ending :(

evermore: Bella’s pov in New Moon while spending her days depressed and hopeless, as the song goes through a “grey November” and December. She grasps onto any memories of Edward and acts recklessly to hear his voice and confirm he was real, lyrics like, “I thought of you in the cracks of light. I dreamed of you, it was real enough to get me through”. Bon Iver’s verse is Edward’s pov, last verse transitions into Edward’s return and into Eclipse “I had a feeling so peculiar this pain wouldn't be for evermore”

// 4. Which muse required the most research for?

Initially, the first that came to mind was my portrayal of TDK Joker. Look... When that movie first came out? I saw it over 10 times in theaters. I took notes after. I absorbed EVERY bit of his character that I could. And I kept thinking about different things. I paid attention to literally every voice change and facial expression. I started writing him in fic in August of 2008 and when I eventually brought him to Tumblr in 2012. It felt like a lot of work was put into him and my portrayal.

Then, I thought about my Twilight muses lol. Technically? Every single one of them took reading 6 (if you count the illustrated guide and Midnight Sun) books and watching 5 movies over the span of YEARS. I initially started reading the series in 2006 when New Moon had just come out soooo yeah lol. I feel like, in all honesty, Bella, Edward, Carlisle, Alice, Jasper and Charlie are definitely the ones I technically did the most research for lol.

Outside of them, it’s not really research, but... Building my own OCs took a lot of backstory development and work to get them to where they are now. Creating your own characters is serious business. It isn’t easy.

10. Is there a crossover you just can’t resist?

I don’t think I have any specific crossovers in mind. A lot of times, if a mun approaches me and we think of something between our muses that would just be cool to write? I go for it.

One that always springs to my mind is the crossover verse I created forever ago with @dravcn between my Joker (Jack) and her Crow (Eric) where they were best friends from back in their school days. It will always be one that stays forever in my heart.

Also, where I started out on tumblr was within a Tim Burton RP group (where I began with Vicki Vale). I think that helped me a lot by having all these people in my group from these different settings with the common ground of being a character in a Burton film and it was just... I loved it. I adored every single bit of those interactions and those days way back in the early spring of 2012 lol.

Point is? I love crossovers. Most of RP is kind of a crossover. Finding ways to get characters who otherwise would have never known each other to meet. It keeps things interesting and fun.

18. What one rule applies across all of your muses?

To never underestimate them. They range from villains like Joker to someone as sweet as Pam Beesly. However, when interacting with them it’s always best to keep in mind who they are and not to underestimate them. Some of them are going to say and do some serious shit. Some of them can be complex. Some fragile. Some broken. Some deep. Some ridiculous. But never just assume “oh this is Michael Scott he doesn’t have feelings he’s just goofy” because, in reality, he does have feelings. His view on reality is a bit skewed sometimes, but he’s still a person with feelings and emotions. Would most threads with him be silly? They could be. But never rule out the possibility of having a meaningful character developing thread with him. Seriously. That applies to ALL of my muses. Characters are made to be developed.

aren't vampires technically dead though? by my logic, if it isn't possible to acquire a morph by touching a dead animal, the animorphs shouldn't be able to acquire a vampire morph

I think (although it's been a minute since I've read New Moon) that the Twilight 'verse vamps are not actually dead. They're humans that have been infected with some kind of mystical pathogen that spreads by venom, and alters them on a cellular level. Edward is still convinced they're all undead damned souls, but Carlisle seems pretty sure that Edward needs to eat a nice elk, put the piano down, and chill the fuck out because that theory isn't supported by the science. But then that's Catholics and Anglicans respectively for you.

Anyway, I think that that means morphing could imitate a person's genetic imprint, vampirism and all. Provided this isn't a dismembered extra-dead vampire, of course.

I just saw your Esme was Carlisle's singer post and... What do you mean by singer? I'm very confused??

ok ok, so, recall how in New Moon, Aro refers to Bella as “la tua cantante?” Cantante (Italian for “singer”) is the twilight-verse vampire word for that one special human whose blood is just SO GOOD that it’s irresistible for one vampire in particular. eg, Bella is Edward’s singer because her blood “sings” for him.

in a similar vein (har har), Alice was supposedly this for James (source: James’s ballet studio villain monologue.) And in Midnight Sun when Emmett is trying to help Edward deal with his Bella Crisis, he recalls the time he, too, encountered a human who smelled so good he (literally) couldn’t resist. And finally, smeyer has stated in an interview somewhere (can’t find it, does anyone have a link? or did my gremlin brain completely fabricate this?) that Esme was Carlisle’s singer when Carlisle encountered her as a human teen whose broken leg he fixed (but Carlisle is so good at resisting that it wasn’t an issue for him apparently?? because who needs consistency)

anyway. the idea of a blood “singer” who also happens to be your soulmate is obviously very Sexey and a great source of conflict and drama when it comes to edbella, but when smeyer tries to say the same thing about carlesme, it starts to look like a deliberate pattern, which makes Alice’s and Emmett’s experiences seem…..super fucking weird

Observations I’ve Made About The Twilight Saga Having Not Watched Any of Them Since They Hit DVD and Having Never Even Bothered With Breaking Dawn at All: Part 1

-the English teacher in New Moon sounds like Anthony Hopkins

-All the blonds got their roots fixed in this movie and it’s what they deserve

-Charlie has Big Dad Energy (observation made during Twilight)

-Edward is a Gemini, or FAKE

-Bella’s depression montage is really what depression feels like, which-relatable because I too am a millennial with depression

-Bella’s undereye bags have progressed from Michael Koors to fuckin Versace so could y’all just LET HER SLEEP

-Jacob was LIVING FOR THE DRAMA OF IT ALL

-Paul is a bitch name for a bitch person

-they yeet themselves into wolf form for the drama

(It was at this point our brains started melting out of our ears and we decided that sleep)

(8 1/2 hours of sleep and a good breakfast, we resumed at the more sensible hour of 1:48 pm from where Jacob becomes a bitch)

-why weren’t the vampires in this franchise gay like they are in pretty much every other vampire franchise? Just MAKE THEM GAY YOU COWARDS

-the Twilight franchise: sponsored by Jansport and only Jansport

-Laurant be lookin ashy as FUCK

-the first movies costume designer can fucking fight me because you can’t put these pale ass vampires in light colors because they look fucking PASTY AS FUCK

-Erik is an under appreciated minor character with some good lines

-she’s going through it!!

-these movies get worse with age

-Carlisle out here dressin like an adult Fed Jones from fucking Scooby Doo

-*my friends started turning it into a telenovela*

-*we decided to rewrite it as a telenovela*

-The Return of The Big Dad Energy

(I skipped Eclipse because I don’t care)

-Find a man like Carlisle who will buy an island and name it after me

-Bella’s brows are only getting better

-Emmett and Jasper? Two men for whomst I would die? Absolutely!

-Rosalie’s character arc and backstory are better written than any of the books or movies combined

-Renee? I love her.

-Bella and her anxiety? Relatable

-Sex on the beach? 100% not the tea

-Edward ruining a perfectly good bed is not the mood, but the montage is

-concerned husband? Absolutely!

-everybody’s eyebrows got better, actually

-so did their hair

-still wanna fight the hair and makeup crew from the first one

-Bella really is going through it tryna get that bomb dick and I respect that

-Breaking Dawn Part 1, 47:54 in, Edwards is standing like he knows he has to do it to em

-I hate that

-chicken, yogurt, and peanut butter? DISGUSTING!!!

-Emmett is the personified version of the “I love you...bitch. I ain’t never gon stop lovin you...bitch” vine

-why is Jacob dressing like the brown Captain America that we deserve?
