I see people getting enthusiastic about the player polycule but will they still be there when I'll start talking about JoshBeat, BeatShiki and Joshiki? not so sure. a shame since those three ships are extremely interesting as well
#you might tell me. but Léa they don't interact a lot! in fact Shiki and Joshua never interacted at all! how can we be there for that?#MY FRIENDS. i don't care <3#the important part is the POTENTIAL of the dynamic!! what you can create!!#JoshBeat? the funny potential is too powerful here. it could be literally anything.#Beat is just too easy to mess with and Joshua certainly won't hesitate#but tbh i'm also a big fan of the idea of two characters who don't like to show weakness#(Beat because he believes he has to be strong to protect Rhyme)#(And joshua because... it's Joshua. he likes being in control of everything and showing weakness is not being in control#it requires trust. trust in the one you're with that they won't use that weakness against you. trust that they'll help you.#that they won't push you further down.)#and i dunno. the idea of these two trusting eachother enough to be vulnerable with eachother#it's so soft and cute. i love it#BeatShiki? can we talk about beatshiki for a sec. they're so sweet. remember how they immediately became friends when they met?#Beat hating Neku's guts but still accepting to help them because it was for Shiki?#the wait? the wait during 3 years as they were the closest ones from Neku#drifting apart to the point that Beat doesn't recognise Mr Mew anymore? what happened?#the idea of being different but wanting the same thing. aiming for the same goal. sharing something despite these differences#being brought together by that similarity despite everything else and sticking together because they're the only one who get you#they're the only one who knows what it's like to lose someone like Neku. to not know where he is. to wait or look for him everyday#joshiki? did you guys forget how Shiki was the one to ever break Neku's shell of self-isolation against the world?#and how much this characteristic of Neku is paralleled with Joshua?#don't you think it would be interesting to have her meet him? see how much she could change him?#also it would be funny af to have Shiki (extremely easily flustered person) and Joshua (big flirt) interact. you cannot disagree.#it would be hilarious. anyway i'm very normal about these three ships as you can see#léa rambles#twewy#hachicule#beatshiki#joshiki#joshbeat

My (probably very wrong) Ted Lasso Season 3 predictions
Even though I failed spectacularly at predicting what was going to happen on Wandavision and Loki, I'm going to post my speculations about Ted Lasso Season 3 because I just can't get enough of being wrong :) These aren’t spoilers because I don’t know what will happen, but I put them behind the jump anyway, just to be safe.
Ted promises to shave off his mustache if Richmond wins the trophy. The team refuses the offer, claiming the mustache is the source of his powers.
Richmond will defeat Nate and Rupert’s team in the semifinals, not the final match, because we need another episode or two after that to complete Nate’s redemption arc. Richmond will defeat Manchester City in the finale to win their club's first trophy. Manchester City relegated Richmond in season 1 and humiliated them at Wembley Stadium in season 2, so that makes them the final boss fight, the hardest opponent to beat tactically, even though defeating Nate’s team will be the hardest emotionally.
After his defeat, Nate will scream at his team and physically assault someone (maybe throw a chair Bobby Knight style?); a video of that will go viral. Twitter will label him "Nate the Ingrate" or "Nate the Not-So-Great." Rupert will fire him. Nate will be abandoned and alone. Ted will reach out with kindness. He'll suggest Nate see Dr. Sharon. Nate will initially reject the help, but eventually come around and be diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. He won't be hired back at Richmond. He'll end up in a lower-ranking gig somewhere else with fresh new humility.
Roy will become a Diamond Dog. He just will. It's inevitable.
Trent Crimm will spend the season embedded with the team and write a best-selling book called "Believe: The Lasso Way." In the movie adaptation, Ted will be played by Ed Helms.
Roy and Keely will be ok, though they have a rough patch as she's torn between work and home. Keely gets pregnant and Roy becomes a stay-at-home dad so Keely can continue to grow her business. The yoga moms already love Roy, so the stay-at-home moms group will too. Keely and Roy don’t get married but are committed partners.
Trent will be Hamilton-level great at the rhyming game Ted and Beard play.
It will be strongly implied that Trent has a crush on Ted, but Ted will not reciprocate because 1) Apple TV isn't going to make the lead character of their flagship show bisexual, and 2) If they did, morons online would say, "See! When men talk about their feelings it makes them gay!" and 3) LGBTQ characters don’t exist in Richmond.
Jamie Tartt and Roy will hug without headbutting first.
Ted will go back to Kansas to be with his son. After winning the trophy, his mission is accomplished and he can go home without being a "quitter." The only way this will not happen is if Michelle dies in a car wreck and Henry moves to London to live with his dad.
This is also why any Ted/Rebecca pairing is doomed. I've seen some strong arguments that they're endgame, but I don't see Rebecca moving to Kansas and I don't see how Ted would stay away from his son any longer than he has to. Sorry Ted/Rebecca shippers! Transcontinental relationships don't work.
The team will plan some sort of epic, cheesy good-bye gesture for Ted. Maybe they all give him toy soldiers to protect him before he leaves? They do a really amazing *NSYNC dance performance? The entire town spells out the word BELIEVE together? Whatever it is, it will make us cry.
Someone will call Ted a wanker, but in a nice way.
--
And that's all my crystal ball is showing me right now. I guess we'll see how wrong I was in 2022!
Feel free to speculate more in the comments, particularly about characters I didn’t mention since I’m not sure where everyone will end up.

Unexpectedly Bitten
Vampire!Henry Cavill x Reader
Summary: Your ex gets into some trouble with Vampires, and his mistakes lead the bloodsuckers back to you. After seeing you, one vampire gets a little attached and he’s taking his time deciding what he plans to do with you, but whatever it is, you’re not afraid. In fact, you might just be a little attached to him too.
Warnings: cursing, smut, violence. (Count on spelling mistakes or repeating words too often. it’s very likely.)
Notes: Let me emphasize this: there is little rhyme or reason to the way this story is broken into parts. I did my best though, and I stuck to 7. I tried not to make each part too long.
This is a Vampire!Henry x Reader story where each chapter, while chronological, is a different conversation or event during the course of their evolving relationship.
Words: 2045
Part 6: Out of Time
You laid facing each other on Henry’s plush mattress you’d somehow made it to as the night went on, while he ran his fingers through your messy, sex-crazed hair. Three times took everything out of you, but you hadn’t slept a wink, afraid of what another day gone by would mean. He said you had to go back, but it would have to be before the five a.m. summer sunrise tomorrow or you would be stuck until night, when the Lord arrived.
You wanted to be stuck with him. Stuck in his bed, in his arms. Stuck to the life you’d been living since he took you. And you hoped everything between you was enough to convince him, to squash his fear, and believe in himself to protect you.
“I don’t want to be without you,” He whispered.
“Then don’t be without me,” You said, tracing over his bottom lip with your thumb, savoring the way those words passed through them moments before. Your bite had already healed, and it made you want to make another.
“Lamb—” You covered his mouth with your hand, fearing what he may say.
After a beat, Henry gently removed that hand and placed a kiss on your palm before pressing it against his heart.
“It’s so strange,” You said.
“What is?”
“Stories say a vampire’s heart is ripped from their chest when they are turned, that the holes are filled with hatred for humans. But yours beats as strong as anyone else’s.” Your fingers on his skin practically vibrated from the intense thumping.
“This heart has been living for hundreds of years, you know.” He smiled. “You’d think it’d be old, worn out, but…I don’t think it could ever get to that point if you’re around.” Then the smile faded as he gripped your hand harder, and said, “I have to take you back today.”
“Henry—”
“No,” He shook his head. “My turn now. You must listen to me, Lamb.” You looked away but he tilted your face back to his. “He comes tomorrow,” He said, emphasizing each word.
The tears threatened to sting sharper than they ever had before, as if you needed a reminder that this loss—the loss of Henry—would be the worst you’d faced yet. You did not need that reminder, and you cursed the tears. “Then bring me back after he’s gone.”
“I can’t.”
“Why?” You practically choked trying to get the sound out.
“Because Elec was suspicious when he saw you. I’ll be watched for some time and if they catch me bringing you back, they’ll know I didn’t drain you and they’ll kill you anyway.”
Your cheeks began to burn from the hot downpour of tears coating them. “Henry…”
He couldn’t wipe the droplets from your skin fast enough, like he knew they were hurting you. “I don’t want this either.”
“How…How long would it be until I could see you again?”
“I don’t know,” He said, kissing you hard to kill your sob.
-------------------------------------------
You convinced him to let you stay until night. But it wasn’t so hard after getting him drunk off of the feel of you sweetly nipping at his neck. ‘What’s another few hours,’ He’d said in that raspy, lust-drenched voice, then pulled your body on top of his and kissed you. There was no reason to leave a second before you had to, but you knew it was pushing Henry to the brink. It was a stress on his shoulders that you hated to admit would not be relieved until you were gone.
But as it would turn out, a few hours could make all the difference. A few hours full of selfish choices has the power to make or break your entire world.
Henry was deep inside of you, your breaths mixing as you ground your hips back and forth on top of him. His hold on your hips was beautifully tight, but it turned painful the instant Chris barged through the door to Henry’s room. Fear struck your vampire’s core at the expression on his friend’s face, and he rushed to cover you as you lifted off of him.
“What is it?” Henry asked, sitting up fast; the thick blankets pooling above his hips. You couldn’t see his face, but the agitation in his voice made your lungs collapse.
Chris tossed you a terrified glance, and said to you both, “We are out of time.”
You weren’t so sure Henry hadn’t lied when he said his heart wouldn’t die as long as you were around. You could practically feel it withering. He looked back at you. “Stay here,” he said, shoving the covers off his legs and yanking his boxers on. He threw the rest of his clothes on his body and walked to you, cupping your face in his hands and giving you a quick kiss. “Promise me you won’t move; you won’t make a sound.”
You nodded.
“Say it!”
“I promise.”
He took a deep breath and kissed you once more, then jogged out the door after Chris.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Long silver hair draped over the slim shoulders of the self-appointed yet widely accepted vampire Lord. His height landed somewhere between Henry’s and Elec’s, but despite his size, he emanated a power that could crumble the walls of Henry’s home until the roof caved in; a roof that would cave in on the home you were currently in. For more than one reason, Henry knew he had to tread lightly.
The Lord smiled--his fangs a little longer, slightly sharper than most--when Chris returned to the living room with Henry in tow. “You certainly know how to make you master wait,” Elias said in such an even, unthreatening tone it made Henry’s stomach quiver.
“Forgive me. I was expecting you tomorrow.”
A well-manicured eyebrow arched in what appeared to be genuine surprise. “Is that so?”
“A mistake on my part, I’m sure,” Henry said, gesturing toward one of the couches, inviting the Lord to sit as tradition expected.
Elias sat, pleased, and crossed one long leg over the other. His Amber eyes--the color of the burning sun at dusk—scanned the room. “Still not a touch of modernization in this home, is there?”
“No real reason to change much,” Chris said with an attempt at a casual shrug. “We don’t get visitors.”
Elias’s eyes pierced Henry’s like a dagger to the gut. “Oh no?”
“No,” Chris affirmed, but Henry didn’t miss the small smirk stretching across Elec’s pale, thin lips.
Elias’s mouth twitched to the side before settling into a frown. “You see, that’s not what I heard. I heard you’ve had quite a…unique visitor as of late. An extended-stay guest, some might say.”
Neither Chris nor Henry answered, both unable to find the oxygen in the air to do so.
“Where is the human, boys?”
“Gone,” Henry managed to say.
“Gone or dead?”
“What does it matter how I word it?”
“How you word it is everything,” The Lord replied. “After all, Henry, we all know ‘gone’ and ‘dead’ are not the same. So, I’ll ask again.” He clicked his tongue. “Where is the human?”
“Dead, then.”
Elias sighed in sincere disappointment and gave a brief nod to Elec, who disappeared to scour the home.
“She’s not here,” Henry said, trying to restrain his panic.
“Henry…” Elias frowned again, like a disappointed parent at their child’s transparent lie.
Henry didn’t know what to do. He felt useless, weak. If he ran to find you before Elec could, then it would give you away. If he held his breath and prayed you hid well enough for Elec to pass over you, there might be a chance; though slim, it was all Henry could place his hope in. But in the end, what he saw ripped his heart from his chest.
Elec only tsked as he carried you into the room, your body wrapped tight in Henry’s bedsheet. “Didn’t even bother to hide her, Hen? You must not care for her very much. Although, I suppose the look on your face suggests otherwise." You were set on your feet and Elec held firmly to your hand as if he were escorting you. The blank look in your eyes made Henry’s body freeze over. It was the look humans only get if their minds have been blocked by a vampires’ will. Elec looked to Elias. “I told you he loves her.”
“I’ll put her back where I found her.” Henry tried to keep his voice steady as his eyes stayed glued to your glazed over ones. “Please.”
“We all know that’s not how this works.” Elias stood, pulling on the cuffs of his coat until they straightened down to his wrists. “Elec explained everything. You got your one chance to dispose of her, and you failed to take advantage of it. She needs to be made an example of. Now, stay,” He commanded Henry like a dog, keeping his feet from taking another step.
Henry practically doubled over at the sight of Elias’s fingers wrapping around your slender neck, as a silent sob prepared to destroy him from the inside out. Chris moved to Henry and threw his arms around his shoulders while Henry cried ‘Please’ over and over like a man with a broken mind.
“Be thankful, Henry.” Elias said. “Be happy she’ll die while in the trance instead of flailing and sobbing like a small lamb at slaughter time.”
There was no suspense, no drama to the way your neck snapped. It was just a crack, like a lightning strike in an empty field; no other sound around until your body and Henry’s knees hit the floor in sync with thunderous thuds. Your death was not meant to be a long, drawn out torture. It was to make a point; and it certainly had.
Through the cloud of his tears, Henry noticed Elias crouch down in front of him. “I am not an evil man, Henry,” Elias said, cupping Henry’s cheek, but his blue eyes couldn’t be forced from your body, broken on the floor. “I understand how you must be feeling. The majority of us were in love with a human once long ago. But they made us weak, and a weak vampire is a useless vampire. We had grown so accustomed to placing our humans on a pedestal that we were blind to the flip it caused in our power. We’d begun to bow to them, but now we have regained our strength. Over the last few centuries, we’ve come to show them that we are the ones in power again; that their species serves us one purpose. Our laws surrounding humans were put in place for a reason, Henry. That, I know you know. However…” Elias glanced back at your body. “I see you have lost so much here today. So, I will ignore your blatant disrespect for your Lord and the law, as well as for your lack of offerings.” Elias then stood, dusting off and smoothing his already wrinkleless coat. “I visit every quarter-century, and you’ve been so good up until now, Henry. This truly is a disappointment.”
The second the Lord and his loyal pup were out the door, Henry stood and rushed to your side, only to collapse back on his knees again. He touched you delicately as if he might break another of your bones, then framed your face with his hands, cradling it with care.
“Henry…” Chris said, but received no answer. “Henry!”
Henry’s head shot around with a growl when Chris’s touch met his shoulder. “Don’t!”
“If you’re going to do it, do it now, before it’s too late.”
Henry’s face fell to anguish as he looked back at you, and he softly brushed your hair away from your face. He was losing valuable time, and there was a deadline for this sort of thing; one that could not be toyed with.
His kiss landed on your forehead, your cheek, your mouth, then he grabbed your wrist with shaking fingers and brought it to his lips. He kissed the inner side of it for a long beat.
“Forgive me, my love. I did not want this for you,” He whispered against your skin before sinking his piercing fangs into your delicate flesh.

Dating High King Peter The Magnificent (Part II)
Tumblr media
my masterlist is here.
warnings: mentions of blood, bleeding.
• As Peter is the High King, people tend to expect and believe he is a serious person who always goes by the book.
• But if they asked you, you'd say he is nothing like they expect or believe him to be. He is adventurous, clumsy, clingy and totally a mischief.
• Chances are that he'll wake you up in the middle of the night, grab your hand, get you out of the bed and want to wander in the castle, go to the coast, sneak into the kitchen, practice fighting in the garden.
• Of course you never say no to him because he has a such a childish happiness and cheer that you can not turn him down.
• You like to be on the beach and watch the sea and stars with him. He turns into a romantic, he talks about his honest feelings and how much he loves you. Sometimes his words are so rhyming and feels like they come from an old book. He doesn't know why he knows such words or sentences but he likes to share them with you.
• He likes to wander in the castle, barefoot. You two are in your sleeping clothes. Peter holds your hand while you are running, giggling, whispering, entering the kitchen. You sit on the kitchen floor together and eat whatever you find. Delicious pies, cakes, mermalade, chocolate, Turkish delight. Sometimes you drink wine or he makes you tea.
• But he is clumsy so he manages to injure himself when he is in the kitchen. He cuts his fingers, hits his arm somewhere, drops something. It is mostly because he so energetic and also he never loses his excitement when he is around you. And you think he never cares about himself, he doesn't care to be hurt or injured unless it is you or his siblings who are hurt.
• You scold him sometimes, telling he should take care of himself. You hate to see the scars on his chest, back, legs. He promises you he'll be careful but the next day you find him bleeding because of practicing.
• He likes to fix his armour, sword or shiled on his own. Therefore he learned how to do it from dwarves and centaurs. He became so excellent that now he makes knives, daggers, swords, shields for others and he is learning how to make arrows for Susan.
• You love to watch him being a blacksmith. The way he desings the tool he'll make, he forges, sharpens the tool and the way he looks so handsome while he is over the fire. He is sweaty, his hair is messy, his arms are bare thus you can see his muscles, sometimes he doesn't wear a top at all and you can't stop looking at him. He knows he is such a tease sometimes and he winks at you or smirks. You just roll your eyes to him but to be honest, you never stop watching.
• He is also a tease on his High King mode. It is sometimes unbeliavable for you to see him as a king because he and his mood changes completely. He becomes serious and strict. When he speaks, everyone listens. Everyone respects him, no one can be pert around him, especially other kings or guests who come for political issues. He is a smart, strong man, both in meetings and battlefield. Sometimes you watch him duelling with other kings or princes, his siblings and he looks amazing. His movements are so smooth, he carries his armour, sword and armour without diffuculty.
• He loves to train you. Sometimes at night, sometimes at noon you and him go to the garden practice sword fighting for hours. He thinks you are very good and getting better everyday. He tends to hold back because he doesn't want to hurt you but you tease him to fight fair. You hit his armour with your sword or tease him with your words to make him angry. When your duelling is done, you both are very tired but as you have so much fun, the tiredness is worth it.
• But underneath this strong and lively man, there is a worried brother, lover and king. He is always concerned about his siblings, he still has nightmares about Edmund. Although he knows they can protect themselves, he is always worried that Susan and Lucy might get hurt. He is also worried about you. He can be so protective sometimes. He tries to do almost everything for you, taking off your dress, helping you dismounting, bringing your breakfast to your room, he always says no when someone challenges you. You speak to him until he is sure that you are okay. From time to time, he makes you angry but you know he has no bad intentions. That's just how he shows his love.
• But being High King is what tires him so much. He is obsessed with being a great king and he always tries hard. He always tries to make the best decisions for Narnians and he always has a headache. Trying to maintain the peace is hard sometimes.
• You do your best to distract him from his thoughts and everything he has to deal with. You always try to be with him and support him. You help him make plans, write his speech, you always attend balls with him, be on his side when he duels, you clean his wounds, bring him water, kiss him because he always demands “good luck kisses”.
• Peter notices how his opponents look at you, he can see they are jelaous and some of them want you. Oh, he gets very furious and beating them doesn't take so much time when he is furious.
• After everything is over, he loves to be with you, on your room, all alone. He is not a king when he is with you. He is just himself, just Peter. He is honest with you.
• You love all of his sides. No matter if he is a king, an ordinary man, worried brother, an amazing lover, still a boy with so many fears and responsibilities, you love him.
• He knows you love him. He loves how your eyes shine, how big your smile is when you see him. He loves the way you laugh at his jokes. He loves to sit on the kitchen floor and watch you eat, your lips covered with chocolate or mermalade. He loves how intense your looks are while he fixes his armour. He loves how caring you are, the way you love and care all of his siblings, all of the Narnians.
• He is the big spoon and he whispers every night, before falling asleep, that he loves you so much and he is so grateful to have you in his life.
hi babes! i hope you like it. feel free to tell me what you think.
love, andrea. ♡

[Jungkook] The Windmill House (Chapter 7)
Masterlist
Synopsis: When for once rich doesn’t rhyme with Christian Grey.
Pairing: Jungkook x OC
A/N: Feel free to submit a cover! Tell me what you think in my inbox! Enjoy!
-
Mr. Jeon’s lips curl up into a smirk.
“Oh, hi.” He says, sounding pleased. Of course he is pleased to see me. His smile makes my blood boil.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I hiss, recoiling when the strong scent of alcohol emanating from him reaches my nose. He tilts his head to the side, on eyebrow raised.
“Wham’I supposed to be doin’ in a bathroom?” He retorts. Oh, I don’t want to be dealing with this.
“You’ve got to be kidding.” I mutter to myself, turning on my heels, ready to go pick up Ben and Sidney and leave.
“Wait.” I hear him before feeling his hand around my arm. Oh what now?!
He turns me around, and I glare at him.
“Hey, man.”
I spin my head and see the security guy I just walked past standing behind me. Mr. Jeon lets me go immediately.
“Everything alright?” The man asks him. Mr. Jeon stares at him with a deep frown, mouth hanging open.
“Are you talking to me?” Mr. Jeon asks. Can I leave?
“Alright, buddy.” The guy cajoles, grabbing Mr. Jeon by the lapels of his jacket. " Leave the lady alone.”
Taking the opportunity as soon as it comes, I escape the scene, leaving him with his problems. I can’t bother with him tonight. I nearly run back to our table.
“That was quick.” Sidney says between two selfies. I mutter to myself, deciding I should keep the encounter to myself. Knowing her, she’s probably going to get up to find Mr. Jeon and kick his ass.
It’s fine, he is literally being thrown out of the club at this very time. As the thought crosses my mind, I look out the window that gives onto the street. Mr. Jeon is there, staggering across the road. How drunk s this man. He almost trips on the side walk but eventually makes it up, aiming for the bench of the bus stop. I watch as he lays down on it, on his back, one leg up on the wooden surface, and just stays there.
I frown as I witness his strange behavior, and soon realize he’s falling asleep. Out there? Under a bus stop? Is he that drunk? Where is his assistant? How does he plan on getting home?
He’ll never make it to his place, wherever that is. He’s going to get robbed. As much as I despise him, this is really dangerous.
“Excuse me guys, I’ve got to use the loo.” The words are out before I can convince myself to do otherwise. I don’t know why I feel the need to lie them. That’s actually false, I’m lying because I know Sidney wouldn’t want me to be doing this. I rise from my seat.
“Again?” Ben says.
“Girl stuff.” I mutter, waving a dismissive hand. This excuse always works.
Discretely, I make my way out of the club and across the street where Mr. Jeon’s lifeless form is sleeping.
“Hey.” I call, shaking him awake. He convinces one eye open.
“You can’t sleep here. Go home.” I tell him.
“Hey.” He slurs, grinning at me. Why is he so happy to see me?
“What is your address?” I try. Mr. Jeon groans, painfully pulling himself into sitting position. He scratches the back of his head.
“It’s.. a tall building?” He replies. I grab my own forehead. I can still walk away.
“Why did you get so drunk all alone? What happened to you?” I tell him.
“You happened, Maya.” He says, pointing an accusing finger at me. My eyebrows meet my hairline.
“I happened?”
“Your boss called me today.” He says to me.
“I know.”
“He was mad. He was…crazy mad.” He explains. Well, no shit! “And then...another woman joined in and… they all started yelling.”
That has to be Ava. She always has been so protective of everyone. And she’s loud. I bite back a smile at the thought of her yelling at a man like Jeon Jungkook.
“And I felt so wronged.” He adds. Wronged? Him?
"I felt like you did everything to make me look like the bad guy.” He mutters. What a joke!
“Yeah, right. You are the one- “
“Wait, wait, wait. Miss Fair, Maya, please.” He cuts me off, jolting up and holding his hands up. I cross my arms under my chest, but let him go on.
“They were threatening get the police involved, telling me I was a monster and a predator.” He says. And they were right! I still could report him to the police.
“So I said: what the fuck did she tell you?” He mimics himself.
“And they told me everything that you said to them.  And turns out you just told 'em the truth.” His voice gets quieter by the end of his sentence. I watch, speechless, and his head bows down. He quietly sits back down on the bench, elbows propped on his knees.
“I harassed you.” His voice is almost a whisper. At least he recognizes it.
“So I get drunk to make things a little bit easier for myself.” He speaks again after a beat. He looks up at me, eyes filled with regret.
“I’m sorry, Maya.” He says to me. I hate that he sounds so genuine. I almost want to believe it.
“And I know I can’t make it up to you now.” He adds, looking back down.
“I mean… I could, if you let me take you on a date but…” He trails off, his words hanging in the air. A date? With him?!  Let me laugh.
“Oh!” He exclaims, shooting his wide yes up and me and bouncing off the bench. I almost jump at his sudden surge of energy.
“Would you let me take you on a date?” He asks me. I break into cold sweat. What is happening?
“A date?” I repeat. He nods vigorously.
“Promise I won’t bring up my dick anymore. Everrrr.” He slurs. I tilt my head to the side. I doubt he’s capable of that.
“What kind of date would you take me on?” I ask, just out of curiosity.
“I feel like…” He taps his chin with one finger. “I feel like you’re a museum girl.” He declares.
“A museum girl.” I repeat, testing the term.
“Am I wrong or am I wrong?”
“You’re right.” I tell him. It’s a good guess but pretty generic. It still manages to make his entire face light up like Christmas.
“See?! I may be an asshole, but I’m smart.” He says proudly. I bite back a laugh. This is quite amusing.
“I won’t bring you to the Design Museum like any lame dude would do.” He tells me, almost like a promise.
“Oh no?” I chuckle, raising an intrigued eyebrow at him.
“Nah.” He shakes his head. “I know a place.”
“Which one?”
“S’a secret.” He shrugs, making an aggravated grimace. “You’ll know if you go with me.”
“I see.” I chuckle. He’s quite funny like this.
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asks me again. I feel like a no would ruin his playful mood.
“Are you even going to remember my answer?” I challenge.
“No, I’ll remember. I’ll write it down.” He retorts, pulling his phone out. I have to fight back another fit of giggles as he navigates trough his phone.

“Asked… Maya… out on a… date…” He says to himself as he writes a memo. “And she said?” He looks up at me, eyes hopeful. I know he is only this nice because of the alcohol, but I can’t bring myself to shut him down. I would be the person who tells a kid Santa doesn’t exist.
I’m 90% sure he won’t remember this anyways.
“She said yes.”
I murmur, watching as he beams at me with a face-splitting grin.
“She said yes.” He repeats, his thumbs working fast on his screen. “Awesome.” He pipes up, putting his phone away. I shake my head at him.
“I gotta…” He almost gargles, taking a step back. He has enough time to turn away from me before he vomits spectacularly.
“Oh, bloody hell.” I gasp, looking away although he’s showing me his back. I almost gag at the splashing sound his vomit makes as it hits the ground.
Mr. Jeon throws up once more, and I hear him cough. Still not looking, I fish two tissues from my bag and poke him with them.
“Thank you.”
He says, voice tight, before cleaning his mouth. He sighs deeply, sitting down and throwing his head back.
“What a way to impress a lady, huh?” He says, more to himself than to me. I’m anything but impressed.
“This is the best I’ve felt since your boss called.”
He tells me, eyes closing. What is he doing.
“Should I call you a cab?” I ask him. He hums, but that’s it. His eyes are shut. He falls asleep just like that?!
“Mr. Jeon?”
I try to shake him. He groans. This man is not going to help me. He doesn’t remember his own address. He leaves me no choice. Looking around, I hail the first cab I see.
“Mr.Jeon.” I call, shaking him quite vigorously. He opens his eyes and frowns at me.
“Up. We’re going to get you a bed.” I promise, speaking loudly to keep him awake, and open the door of the car.
“Let’s go.” I encourage him, and I thank the heavens for giving him the strength of walking while he lans onto me.

“He better not ruin my backseat.” The driver throws at me, but keeps his eyes full of anguish glued on my companion, watching him with worry.
“He’ll probably pay you a brand new car if it happened.” I mutter, dropping his limp body on the seat. The driver raises an eyebrow at me.
“Now I want him to ruin my backseat.” He retorts. I close the door on Mr. Jeon’s side and walk around the car to sit next to him.
“Where to?” I ask Mr. Jeon, shaking him to wake him up.
“What is your address?” I enquire.
Heaving, I sit him upright so I can fasten his seatbelt. He doesn’t reply.
“Mr. Jeon.” I call again when his belt is fastened, but he as descended in sweet slumber.
“You’re not helping me.” I mutter to myself, securing my belt. I guess he’ll have to come with me. What a joke! I did everything to get rid of this man, and he’s here, almost sleeping in my lap. Pursing my lips, I push him his slowly-falling-ontto-me body back in place and give the driver my address.
It’s crazy that I’ve gone from running away from this man to literally taking care of him. He can’t seem to be able to leave me alone. But this time should logically be the last time. There is no way I’m returning to Zaap now that I know he hangs out there, and London. is big enough of a city for us not to run into each other ever again. He probably won’t be bugging me tonight, and I can just shoo him away tomorrow morning. You can do this.
I decide to call Sidney to let her know about everything, and as expected, she immediately starts screaming at me. I really don’t blame her. I try to tell her not to worry about me and to enjoy the rest of the night with her brother, be she refuses to leave me alone with Mr. Jeon. Honestly, I can’t complain that I have such protective people around me, and one thing I know is that I can never win against her. So she gets on her way home as well, although I obviously make it back first.
I shake Mr. Jeon awake, but he’s still barely cooperating. When I open the door on his side of the car, his eyes are open but that’s about it. I get my keys ready in one hand and help him up, but the man is heavy for me and I’m pretty sure he can’t walk. He’s just there, almost comatose, moaning and mumbling inaudible things.
“Need help?” Our cab driver proposes.
“No, I’ll be fine.” I lie.
“Mr. Jeon, you better get your legs moving or I’m leaving you on the side walk.” I threaten him, shaking him again so he snaps out of it.
“Walk.” I order before trying once more. I heave and try to lift him up, and he grants me with some help, pushing himself out of the vehicle. The driver makes it his business to close the door behind him, and I take him up the stairs to my doors, skillfully opening the door with one hand.
“Maya.” He mumbles once we’re inside. He is so heavy, I’ll just drop him on the couch and let him pass out there. As we walk past the kitchen, I hear Mr.Jeon gag.
“My flowers.”
I gasp, watching is he empties his stomach in the vase I put his flowers in. What the hell?!
“Sorry.” He mumbles. Ew. At loss of words, I drop him on one of the stools behind the counter and grab him some tissues so he can wipe himself. I notice the huge stain of vomit on his sleeve and nearly barf myself.
This man is supposed to be intimidatingly charismatic, for fuck’s sake. I walk behind him and begin to take his jacket off so he doesn’t sleep with it on and stains my couch.
“Are we finally doing it?” I hear him ask me. Ha!
“Doing it? You stink of alcohol and you threw up on yourself.” I mutter, successfully removing the jacket. I roll it so the stained part doesn’t touch anything and leave it on the counter.
“I still can get it up.” He retorts, slumping over. Yeah, sure. Not picking up on his comments, I pour him a glass of water.
“Drink this.” I tell him. He lifts his head and sees the glass, but doesn’t seem interested. Losing patience, I shove the glass into his mouth and lift it so he has no choice but to drink. Once that’s done, get him up again and push him down onto the couch. He falls back, feet hanging over the edge of it, but it doesn’t seem to bother him. I sigh deeply. That was unnecessarily difficult.
“Maya.” He calls, eyes still closed. “I’m really sorry.” He murmurs.
“It’s just flowers.” I say dismissively, taking my shoes off.
“No.” He says. “For…you know, everything.”
I look up at him, confused, but he’s already gone, his chest rising and falling slowly as he sleeps. This man really is an enigma. I don’t know how to feel about him.
I’m about to head to the bathroom when I hear his phone vibrate in his pocket. Thinking it could be someone who is worried about him, I figure I should answer for him. I fish his phone out and look at the caller’s ID: it’s his assistant. I take the call for him.
“Thank god!”
The man exclaims from the other side of the line. “Where the hell have you been?”

“Hello?” I say. There is a short silence.

“Who are you?” His assistant asks, tone icy and clipped.

“Maya Fair. The interior designer? Do you remember me?”
I tell him.
“Yes. Yes, I do. Where is Mr. Jeon?” He asks again.
“He is with me. He drank a lot tonight and-”

“Have you signed an NDA?” He cuts me off.
“And NDA?” I repeat. Why would I have to sign a non-disclosure agreement?
“Did-“
The call ends abruptly, and I realize it’s because Mr.Jeon’s phone is dead. Well, at least he knows he’s with me. I’m too exhausted to charge his phone, wait for it to turn on and call him back. I plug Mr. Jeon’s phone and head to the bathroom to remove my makeup. Sidney arrives as I’m putting my pajamas on, storming in and yelling all kinds of reproaches at me. Mr. Jeon doesn’t even budge at the noise she makes, and all I do is agree with her half-sleepily. I’m crazy, What I did was dangerous, he doesn’t deserve my help, blah blah blah. I give her a hug and collapse onto my bed, falling asleep almost instantly.
-
“Should we smother him in his sleep?” Sidney proposes, towering over Mr. Jeon’s sleeping form. She puts her hands on her hips and bends over him, watching him with squinted, untrusting eyes.
“Sidney.” I admonish, stretching my arm and offering her a cup of tea. I guess her resent for the man is weaker than her love for black tea, because she leaves him alone.
“I’m just throwing ideas.” She mutters, walking over me to get her cup. She leans against the kitchen counter next to me, and we both watch the man in our livng room while sipping on our hot drinks. Mr. Jeon is sleeping in the same position I left him in, sprawled on his back, one leg bent, both of his arms folded and tucked under his head. His long eyelashes fanned against his cheeks, his chest rising and falling steadily as he breathes. He has a very subtle frown, which kind of looks adorable.
“He is hot though.” Sidney concedes although no one asked.
“You haven’t seen him throw up in the flowers.” I counter. I don’t think I would ever have imagined seeing Mr. Jeon in such a state. He’s always so serious and composed. I don’t think I ever heard him snicker like he did yesterday, out of pure amusement, not out of misplaced arrogance. It was new, and as disgusting as it was, it was a little charming I have to admit.
“I agreed on a date with him.” I declare. Sidney puts a hand behind her ear.
“Say that again?”
I roll my eyes.
“He seemed really sorry about the whole thing. I mean he drank his weight in alcohol because of it.” I explain to her. She raises an eyebrow at me.
“That’s a fucked way to prove your sincerity.” She mutters into her mug.
“It’s not like he did it on purpose knowing I would be there.” I counter.
“Yeah, but.” She pauses to take a sip of her black tea. "A date though???”
She has a point. He made me laugh, and he seems sorry, but it doesn’t mean I should be interested in him. He still wants into my pants, and while his actions can change, it won’t erase the past.
“I know, I’m not going. He probably doesn’t remember anyway.” I try to reassure her.
“The fact that you even accepted! You know very well that if you forgive this kind of man once, they know they have you.” She scolds. I glare at her and her chopsticks in her bun. How more stereotypical can you get?
“I know, Sidney. Jeez! You don’t have to bring everything back to him.” I mutter, know all too well what she was referring to. She leans back defensively.
“I’m just looking out for you. Red flags are red flags.” She mumbles.
“I am not going to fall for this man.” I say sternly. Sidney takes a quiet yet long sip of her tea.
“But you agreed on a date with him.”
“There is no date. I'm not going.” I repeat.
“Good.” She says, contented, and pinched my cheek. “Stop sulking.”
I glare at her again, but my eyes quickly get pulled back to the couch as I hear rustling in its direction. Mr. Jeon is slowly sitting upright, small, squinting eyes blinking slowly as he tried to get his bearings.
“Morning, pretty boy.” Sidney says, walking over to him. I watch, bewildered, as she crouches next to him. He gives her a confused grimace.
“Been squatting enough, haven’t you? S’time to go home.” She tells him, pointing at the door.
“Where the hell am I?” He asks, his voice raspy and laced with sleep.
“In my house.” I retort, making my way to the couch as well. He pulls his eyes to me, and his eyebrows connect in a frown.
“Maya?” He rasps, eyes getting even smaller. He looks sickeningly beautiful when he’s sleepy.
“I found you rat-arsed outside Zaap. So I brought you here. You threw up twice.” I explain to him, watching as his eyes widen at the news.
“Oh, god.” He groans, one hand covering his eyes shamefully. “I’m so sorry.”
I glance at Sidney, who is still being very hostile for someone who isn’t doing anything.
“Mr. Jeon this is Sidney, my roommate.” I introduce my sassy and overprotective roommate.
“Sidney, this is- “
“She told me about you.” She cuts me off, tongue rolling against her cheek. What kind of gangster acting is this?
“Sidney.” I scold. She scoffs, rolls her eyes and exits the living room. Mr. Jeon watches her in confusion. I quietly hand him is phone.
“Do you remember anything from last night?” I ask. He makes a low sound in his throat and leans back against the couch, reaching up and back to stretch.
I try not to notice the patch of creamy skin showing as his shirt moves up.
“Not past the fifth glass.” He exhales, slouching.
“I see.” I say to myself. He doesn’t remember he askes me on a date then, good. I won’t have to tell him no if he doesn’t know about it.
“I’m so sorry that you’ve seen me like this.” He says to me, rubbing his eyes some more. I can tell he’s still very tired.
“This is actually quite embarrassing.” He chuckles to himself. “I hadn’t planned on drinking that much.”
“Well you did. I don’t think I have ever seen someone as hammered as you. When the bouncer threw you out, you laid down on a bench and just stayed there.” I tell him. His brow furrows and he looks at me like I just grew three heads.
“They threw me out?” He asks. “Why did they throw me out?” He’s talking to himself this time.
“The bouncer could tell I didn’t want to talk to you.”
“Yeah, but I own the fucking place.” He retorts, his frown deepening. “These idiots threw their boss out of the club.” He exclaims.
“You do?” I try to hide my laugh in my cup of tea but he hears me chuckling at that, which makes him smile a little.
“This is outrageous.” He says. Poor guy!
“Should I get you something for your head?” I propose. He sighs deeply.
“That would be nice.” He gives me a tired smile. Nodding, I walk to the kitchen and grab a pillbox from a cupboard, almost wincing as I reach up. I realize I’m sore from carrying this big ass man on my shoulder all the way into the house. I also prepare a glass of water.
“There you go.” I say, handing him a pill and a tall glass of water. He gulps it down in seconds, probably feeling the dehydration from all that alcohol.
“Do you feel better?” I ask him once he’s done.
“I still feel like crap. But I know I should go.” He tells me, still barely able to keep his eyes open. I would tell him he’s welcome to stay until he feels better, but truth is he isn’t. I haven’t forgotten what he’s done, and I don’t want to be too nice to him.
“I’m not going to bother you any longer.” He declares, painfully lifting himself off the couch.
“Let me get you your jacket.” I tell him before making quick trip to the bathroom, where I disposed of his stinking suit jacket.
“It’ll need a wash.” I tell him, handing him the plastic bag containing it. He takes a peak and recoils at the smell.
“Jesus.” He says. Oh, I know.
“Thank you again for bringing me home with you.” He says after I walk him to the door.
“You’re welcome.” I reply.
“Miss Fair.” He tilts an invisible hat at me.
“Mr. Jeon.” I reply. He turns on his heels and leaves, and I close the door behind him. I lean against the door, close my eyes and let out a big sigh. This should be it this time. When i blink my eyes open, Sidney is glaring at me, hands on her hips.
“You’re too nice.” She says to me.
“Stop sulking.” I tell her, poking her cheek, my words mirroring hers.
“It’s over. I literally won’t have to ever see him again.” I say reassuringly, walking past her.
“I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you.” I hear her mutter to herself.

Twisted Sister Arc Review Part 1
Hi guys I’m the Anon who does the reviews around here…guess you could call me the Review Anon? Wonder what the lore behind me would be…anyway that doesn’t matter! Point is, I have an Arc to review and Jesus is this a big one. So big that A) I’m doing submissions (with permission from the Mod of course) and B) I’m splitting the review into 3 parts. Heavy Arcs are Heavy and a LOT of stuff happens here so let’s get right into it!
So, the parts of the Twisted Sister Arc are first the Massacre, second is the Mindwipe and third is the Prison Break. Last one doesn’t start with M but I’m not doing rhyming here, but that’s enough time wasting let’s get right into it~
Massacre
Easily the darkest part of the Arc but given the Arc is basically Kanade being a Slasher Killer here, what do you expect? While Danganronpa is a franchise about murder, and we had serial killers in it both canon and fanon the nature of the Killing Game means that a full-blooded mass killing akin to many slasher films hasn’t really occurred in the franchise before. This makes Kanade’s bloody rampage here even more disturbing, as while we have had mass killings before, see Mukuro’s rampage through Giboua Middle School in Killer Killer, those are established as backstory drops for the characters, we never actually see one being carried out in action. And going back to that massacre, Mukuro only did it because Junko thought her sister’s killer intent might have slipped and it’s to prove to her she is still a killer, but here Kanade is killing for cold blooded revenge. And she doesn’t just kill a bunch of randoms as she brutally murders Iroha, Peko, Akane, Nekomaru, Sonia and Kokoro very brutally and very effectively. I knew something was up given that the entire school went into lockdown and all the fighters from Class 77-B were geared to fight Kanade to the death, and Kanade is such a pansy of a fighter that Sonia beat the living shit out of here, and Syo was taken down by the QC, and we all know how terrifying Syo is. But once the bodies started to drop, I knew that the first time that Hajime would reset on purpose was coming up and there were so many questions. Who set Kanade up for this? Someone had to be helping her…. but who and why? Juu could have let her out but he couldn’t have supplied Kanade with her tools and intel (more on that later) so it has to be someone else.
Within the darkness of this timeline there is of course your heroes. There are those like Peko who got a lucky shot on Kanade which set a chain line of events leading to Kanade’s death, Mikako who made Kanade’s injuries worse and Kokoro who stabbed Kanade in the eye. But those small victories led to total loses as even if Peko didn’t die, she would be crippled for life and moreover she failed to protect her classmates from Kanade’s wrath, and Mikako lost her mother, just as she started to finally connect with her. You may have noticed that I haven’t mentioned two names yet, and that’s because they deserve their own paragraphs, I am of course referring to Nikei and Hibiki.
I’m gonna start with the next person who attacks Kanade and that is of course our Journalist boy here. To say this day has been terrible to him would be a massive understatement as one minute he is suffering an energy crash from downing one too many Red Bulls and having lewd thoughts, to running faster than if he happened to be in Mexico (Seriously, if you happen to be a journalist just don’t go to Mexico) to Hope’s Peak and thanks to Ankle Effects, arriving alongside Hajime to a bloodbath. There’s his constant refusal to accept that Iroha is killed, even though we as the audience knew that given Iroha tried to stop Kanade as soon as she arrived at Hope’s Peak and that Kanade was seen by Sonia and co chopping up security guards, the likelihood of her survival was next to none. This carries on from the conversation Nikei had with Yoruko in the previous Arc where he still believes he is dangerous and that he doesn’t see the other Voids as friends or equals, but rather he took the role as leader because he wanted to have power for once in his life, something he alluded to in the Void Theatre during Chapter 5. However, his reaction to Iroha’s unknown safety, and eventually the truth that Kanade really did butcher the poor painter, proves otherwise. While Nikei’s relationship with his fellow Voids canonically won’t get revealed until LINIQ decides to get around to doing the Onmake mode, in which one of the stories in that is going to be about Void pre Mikado- with someone, most likely Nikei, being the POV character, here the fact his first thoughts upon finding out his ‘little sister’ is dead is to disregard the no-killing rule and just beat Kanade to death, proves that he does care about his fellow Voids, but is in several layers of denial. Out of all the Voids, Nikei is easily the most guarded and paranoid of the lot, and while the others have loosened up around Hajime and co, Nikei still has a lot of inner demons he has to deal with before he could truly open up to the rest of the QC. And Kanade chopping his right hand off, doesn’t help matters though I do give Nikei credit that unlike in the OG timeline, where upon his right hand been blown up by his exploding gun, he just broke down crying, here, he tries to carry on the fight regardless, or he would have had the other person I need to talk about didn’t show up. This is pretty important to establish that while most of the Voids now are pretty far removed from their canon selves and are unlikely to regress back in that, Nikei is still closely tied with his bastard canon self and more work needs to be done for him to detach from that.
But moving on from someone who needs to get some work done, let’s move onto someone who has seen the natural conclusion of their character development, Hibiki! Ever since Hajime and Chiaki rescued Hibiki from her twisted sister (*rim shot*) back in July, she has been making a ton of progress, firstly coming to terms with what Kanade did and her true nature, developing friendly healthy relationships with Class 77-B, the QC and of course a romantic relationship with Hajime. It seemed kind of cliché for Hibiki to fall for Hajime but then again a) Danganronpa can be cliché at times and B) As a Danganronpa Protagonist Hajime cannot turn off his swag. Then there is her officially joining the QC, learning how to fight and being a complete and utter badarse and a caring lover when needed as she confronted Hajime back when he died the second time. We all knew it was only a matter of time when Hibiki had to confront her sister and when Kanade broke into the school, we saw fully, how much Hibiki has grown in the past 3 months. The old Hibiki would have curled up in a corner terrified, crying and probably going into the Puppet State. Here though, Hibiki’s FIRST THOUGHTS upon finding out that Kanade is more dangerous now is to done some armour and get some weapons, and face her sister head on with no hesitation. All without going into the Puppet State at least once, which probably means that its more or less gone now. Kanade tried to talk her sister out of fighting her, but Hikibi isn’t buying Kanade’s insurance anymore and a fight breaks out. If this ever gets animated or becomes a visual novel, I would love to see the Hibiki vs Kanade fight animated as its brilliant, its epic and it’s just so satisfying to see Kanade getting the living snot beaten out of her. You could argue that Nikei’s mauling of Kanade was like that but there, Nikei was more or less in grief due to Iroha’s death and the whole thing was as painful to watch as the final fight in Captain America: Civil War, not saying what because spoilers ahoy. Here though is a glorious battle, as Hibiki gets to deliver justice onto her demonic sister and it is SO SO satisfying, given that a reset happens shortly afterwards.
And sadly, with that, we come to easily the weakest part of not only this part of the arc, but the arc overall, Yasuke’s multiverse theory. It could be written better, and even the Mod agrees that the way it was presented shouldn’t have been the way it worse, that having Umeko throw some ideas at Hajime and him coming to the conclusion that they might have been living in a multiverse be better narrative then Yasuke be like ‘Oh hey I am suddenly an expert on Time Travel now’. It would make Hajime breaking his no kill rule that much more impactful as he doesn’t have the excuses of not only Nikei’s who was currently going through a mental breakdown, and in the current plot where Yasuke more or less planted the seed of doubt in Hajime’s mind. Yasuke still has a role to play in this arc but during the Massacre timeline, I feel like he could have been removed entirely from the plot and not only would it have made no difference, but then most readers wouldn’t be complaining about it as much as Yasuke being a general A-hole wouldn’t tick them off. I’m not saying ‘THIS IS AS BAD AS ONCOMING STORM’ as that Arc was just a giant clusterfuck of a mess, and aside from this one part, the arc is very strong overall, but I will give criticism when due. I’m not mentioning my thoughts on Yasuke as a whole here because he’s more relevant in other parts of the Arc. However, Hajime killing Kanade and himself at the same time is brilliant and seeing Kanade begging for her life as Hajime throws her out of the window is so satisfying given not only all the crap she has been dealing up until that point, but also because in SDAR2, she was 100% fulfilled with the events at that point and given it was HIBIKI who was begging for her life then, let’s just say karma is a bigger bitch then Kanade is.
And that concludes the Massacre part of the Arc as Hajime kills himself and Kanade at the same time and he goes back to just before Nikei started to have indecent thoughts. No time to look at the 3rd page of the national newspapers’ boy, we got a serial killer to stop! And with that I’m stopping here as the Massacre part is finished. But this review is far from over, this is just here because otherwise my, the Mod’s and everyone else’s brains won’t be able to process all of this. Stay tuned for part 2 when we cover Kanade’s capture, a scrum debate among the QC and a bold move by the Mod which I do wish will come up more! Until then, Adios! - Review Anon

The Catalina women were blamed for everything that went wrong in their small island town, but it was, perhaps, the men they loved who suffered the most. The curse was well-known, less a legend and more a source of gossip that sprang eternal when the rumor mill ran dry. And yet, for cousins Riza and Rebecca, the plague on their household was all too real.
Too real when their fathers died sudden and mysterious deaths. Too real when their mothers took their leave, courtesy of broken hearts that refused to mend.
By the time young Rebecca arrived at the wrought iron gates of Stonybrook Cottage, Riza had already settled in. She was the spitting image of her mother, Aunt Elizabeth, with wispy blonde hair, copper eyes and a pale heart-shaped face. Though pretty, her cousin was tomboy through and through, smelling perpetually of fresh-cut grass and more than willing to beat local boys at their own games when a competitive mood stuck.
Appropriately, Rebecca quickly proved herself to be her cousin’s complement. Bold where Riza was shy but charming where her cousin was prone to confrontation, they got along as only two halves of a whole could. And while Riza was fair and lithe, Rebecca grew into the curves of her tan complexion and leaned into the power of a pair of dark bedroom eyes that stopped people in their tracks.
Under the old roof of Stonybrook Cottage, the cousins claimed their birthright courtesy of two ageless aunts who mirrored the girls’ contrast. Aunt Maria lectured long about astrology, signs and art of spellcraft while Aunt Olivier exclusively taught the subtle science of potion-making and dabbled in the occasional duel. High school existed also, and Rebecca thought the place a bore, punctuated frequently by childish whispers, taunting rhymes and hateful scribbles on the bathroom stalls.
Rebecca Catalina ❤’s Jean HavocRest in Pieces, Jean
“Who did it?” Riza bellowed, aware that their entire gym class (sans Rebecca) was in on the joke.
Unforthcoming giggles emanated from the gaggle of girls still present in the locker room, not one woman enough to own the egregious act. They hid their sneers behind ramrod straight fringes of hair and hands pressed to their mouths.
“Riza,” Rebecca warned. She grabbed her cousin’s arm as she felt the hex gathering on the tip of her tongue. “It isn’t worth it. Besides, Jean and I are just friends.”
“Friends who suck face under the bleachers,” Patricia Parkinson grumbled. “So sad that Jean has a death wish.”
Between Rebecca and Riza, it wasn’t always clear who was the witch to blame, least of all to the students and faculty of the Southaven High. But when the locker room mirrors began to tremble and the faucets popped off the pipes, spewing water over the offending girls and their belongings, Coach Sheska was forced to concede that the dry parties were the most likely culprits.
“Nice one,” Riza offered. As the two made their way to the principal’s office, she looked at her cousin with a sly pair of eyes that Rebecca refused to meet.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Rebecca maintained. “That was totally you.”
“Was not. I was going to bind their hands, not wreck the entire bathroom. Not that I don’t approve.”
Rebecca suppressed a dark grin. “Well, whoever did it, the Aunts aren’t going to like the property destruction,” she remarked, happily diverting the conversation to the inevitable consequences.
“No, but they’ll understand. They always do. Just be careful with Jean. Couldn’t have fallen for a girl or nonbinary person instead, could you?”
“No,” Rebecca admitted, “I had little choice in the matter.”
Rebecca often consoled herself that Jean Havoc was made of tough stuff. He reminded her of it every time they met beneath the bleachers (his choice) or in the back of his car (her preference). There was something playful about parking Jean’s crossover out by the lake on the Catalina estate, watching the sunset and seeing just how far the seats could recline.
But tonight was different. Rebecca knew it from the way he looked at her. Her stomach lurched pleasantly when she saw he’d shaved his face and pressed his collared shirt. A foreboding, ringbox-shaped bulge in Jean’s back pocket sealed the deal. Rebbeca did her best to distract him, knowing she wouldn’t have the heart to turn him down.
So, she pulled Jean into the backseat and pushed him against the leather interior, envious of the way the slick surface must have pressed against his skin. Hips rolled and mouths crashed into one another in the dwindling light of the setting sun. And suddenly, Jean wrapped his strong arms around Rebecca’s waist and maneuvered them both to a sitting position. He pulled away just in time to ask a question as she trailed warm kisses up his neck.
“I’ve always wanted to know why there’s a fireplace jutting out of the middle of the lake,” he said, glancing sideways at his girlfriend.
Rebecca sighed and took in more of Jean’s cringeworthy corner store cologne. At first, she’d disliked the smell. Now, she craved it, going as far as to keep one of his undershirts beneath her pillow. If Jean wondered where it had gone, he didn’t ask.
She straightened up and decided to tell the story as quickly as possible. “That’s all that’s left of the old Catalina Manor,” she explained. “Surely, you know that old rumor.”
She dived down for another kiss but was stopped by a pair of inquisitive eyes. “I’d like to hear it from you.”
“Fine,” Rebecca relented. She slid off his lap and smoothed her mussed hair to one side. Jean took to massaging the soles of her feet as she spoke, a sure sign of ingratiation that obliged Rebecca’s toes to curl.
“My ancestor, Prudence Catalina, lived in that house with her family, and some people thought that she was more than a healer. They thought she was a… y’ know-”
“-a witch?”
“Yes, that. Anyway, one day, the good townsfolk of Southhaven decided to charge Prudence with witchcraft and sentenced her to burn. But her husband wouldn’t let her go without a fight. So, a mob set the house on fire. Prudence cast a spell of protection on the fireplace where she and her daughter waited out the flames.”
“So, that’s why it’s still standing then?  Prudence’s protection spell?” Jean probed.
“Sure,” Rebecca offered warily, “if you believe in magic.”
The unspoken question hung heavy in the air, coupled with heady eye contact that made Rebecca want to crawl back into her lover’s lap and stay there until eternity passed them by. Jean’s hands moved passed her ankles, working her calves with delicious, rolling pressure. Rebecca wasn’t entirely sure there wasn’t magic in his fingers, least of all because of how her tongue seemed to loosen.
This was the worst part of the story. Still, Rebecca continued, if only because Jean had asked her so nicely.
“But Prudence’s husband died in the fire, and she never recovered, even though the townsfolk were fearful of her power and resolved to leave her alone. She raised her daughter in the cottage my family still lives in but was often found crying by her old home’s ruins where she buried her husband. Over time, her tears formed this lake, and in a fit of despair, she cast a spell on herself. The depth of her bitterness twisted into a curse. Which is, I’m sure, what you really wanted to know about.”
Jean hummed in response. “I wonder why you care about it so much. I think about why you won’t let me kiss you in public, and you give me all these talismans to wear.”
He pulled at a long chain concealed beneath his shirt to reveal several small circle pendants adorned with geometric designs and ancient sigils. Each one sang softly with the labor of Rebecca’s love, though she wouldn’t call it that. Not yet.
Rebecca pinched the bridge of her nose. “Amulets, Jean,” she laughed. “Not talismans. There’s a difference. And you know why you wear them.”
Jean moved over her, then, slipping his hand behind her neck and kissing the burgundy lipstick from her lips.
“Loving you,” he confessed, “helps me to understand why Prudence’s husband did it. I’d do it, too, and I’d gladly tell those girls at school where to go for taunting you like they do. Curses are made to be broken, Becky, if you’ll have me.”
She knew what he meant, and wanted to say yes.
Rebecca wanted to run away with Jean and start a new life elsewhere, however pointless that would be in the end. Her mother had tried it, and so had Riza’s parents. They all ended up six feet under with their perfect lives reduced to ruin. Long ago, Riza and Rebecca had resolved to be different, but that was before Rebecca met Jean Havoc, his last name so apt for what he did to her resolve.
Instead of responding, she kissed him with her eyes shut tight, as if she was just a girl and he was her guy. As if the curse was just a tragic fairy tale told by lovers at the lake.
Somewhere near the murky banks of the water, the death-watch beetle began its ominous countdown, and across the estate, Riza startled, knowing there was much work to be done.
A/N:  Thank you for the prompt, @tomoehawkeye! Sorry, this is a little late. I caught a stomach virus. I hope you like it as much as I like these sort of asks popping up in my tumblr inbox. Hey, happy fma day! Could you please do a prompt or like headcanons ideas of what would have happened if Ed and Al and the homonculi were siblings/cousins? (whichever inspires you more) it would be wonderful and funny, sure as hell
Happy FMA day! OMG yes this is my favorite ridiculous, silly au. Prepare for some ridiculousness.
Okay, so Father shows up randomly at the Elric (Hohenheim?) house a couple years into Hoho living there and is just like “hello, my dearest, oldest friend, so good to see you.” (Hoho is like, yeah, I’ve been rethinking our relationship ever since you literally committed genocide in front of me.)
Father tells Hoho he’s turned over a new leaf. No really, he says, no more murder. He’s content to live out the rest of his life with the one Philosopher Stone he already made and definitely has no plans whatsoever to make another one – what? How could his dearest, oldest friend – who he NAMED and cared for before anyone and helped gain him his freedom – doubt him? What is he talking about that the map of Amestris looks suspicious? Does he really think he could control how an entire country was built? His oldest, dearest friend (“seriously, stop calling me that”) has too high of expectations for him.
Anyways, Father says he showed up because he ended up with 7 kids somehow (“totally an accident. Just happened.” “…uh-huh.”) and he has absolutely no idea how to handle them and they’re all driving him absolutely crazy, and he heard that Hoho has two boys of his own (congrats, by the way, didn’t know you had it in you, your wife is lovely, good job) and maybe he’s managed to figure out this whole fatherhood thing better than he has, so can he bring the family and stay for a while? Just a bit?
And because Hoho is ultimately a sympathetic sap, he says yes. (Trisha literally might kill him. She won’t talk to him for two days. She threatens to take Ed and Al and run away. “This might be good for him, Trisha. He might actually learn to be better and care for people if he lives around humans for a while.” “If any one of his ‘children’ touch our children, I WILL find out how to kill an immortal and after I’m finished with them, I’m coming after you.” “I love you so much.”)
So the family moves in. Ed and Al meet their “cousins”. The homunculi meet the Elrics under strict orders not to hurt them. It goes about as well as you can expect.
Envy really likes screwing with Ed and Al. Their favorite hobby is transforming into one of them and trying to get in as much trouble as possible (pulling Winry’s hair, throwing things at Den, hitting the other real Elric brother, etc.) Jokes on them, though, because Trisha has gotten REALLY good at figuring out when it’s Envy in disguise and just happens to “accidentally” hit them with things. Like, she “accidentally” trips when Envy is in the kitchen as Ed and drops a metal pot on their head. (“Oh no! Edward, honey, I’m so sorry. I didn’t see you there!” She definitely did. She definitely aimed for the head on purpose.)
(In secret, all the Elric/Hohenheims have come up with tells to let each other know they’re not Envy. They might be putting up with them living here, but damn it all if Trisha is just going to passively let them torment her family.
Greed and Envy hate each other, so Greed teams up with the Elrics to help harass his sibling, and ends up actually becoming a big brother figure to them. And somehow, damn it all, he’ll deny it until his dying breath, he’s actually grown a little fond of the tikes. He lets Ed try on his ugly fur vest once. He puts on the invincible shield and lets them hit him with things (look just because he actually tries to play with the kids doesn’t mean he knows anything about appropriate games for human children. Envy and Lust and him hit each other all the time – and usually with a lot more blood and death involved – surely that’s fun for his little “cousins” right?)
Trisha walks outside once and sees her sons just beating on Greed with any weapon they can find and just…walks away. She doesn’t even care anymore. As long as it’s her sons beating one of the homunculi and not the other way around, she’s not going to stop it. She considers that this might be teaching her children bad lessons for the future – such as its okay to just beat people with sticks – but considering it’s also teaching them it’s okay to beat up homunculi, she thinks the pros outweigh the cons.
Lust tries to act like she’s above everything, but she usually gets dragged into arguments. She just kind of randomly flip-flops between helping Envy screw with the kids and teaming up with Greed to defend them like a guard dog, with no apparent rhyme or reason to which she’s going to do on any given day. Ed and Al are both terrified and slightly in awe of her. It’s pretty much exactly how Envy and Greed feel too.
One of their “cousins” looks suspiciously a lot like the former Furher of Amestris (who randomly disappeared a couple months ago, stating “family emergency” before vanishing). Wrath wears a whole bunch of ridiculous disguises every time he takes the boys into town. I’m talking like fake moustache over his real moustache and sunglasses. Really ridiculous hats. Hawaiian shirts. A fake nose once. (“This is just sad,” Envy tells him. “I’ve seen humans disguise themselves better than this.” “I’m not taking advice from someone who willingly walks around looking like that.” Envy has to be held back from trying to maul Wrath by Lust, because Envy has already lost FIVE LIVES since living here – one of them might have been from Trisha, but she won’t confirm or deny anything and only cackles quietly to herself when she looks at Envy sometimes – and if they keep it up they’re going to actually die FOR REAL by next year. “DO YOU THINK PHILOSOPHER’S STONES GROW ON TREES?” Father booms, then goes immediately to Hoho and is like, “That was the right phrase, right? I also tried grounding like you suggested.” “You’ll get this fatherhood thing in no time. Also, you can’t end the grounding no matter how sad they look. That’s what Trisha says.”)
Side note: Mrs. Bradley definitely moves in with them too and now she knows exactly what her husband and son are and still loves them just as much. Pride is confused and slightly mortified, but also touched – he’ll never admit it. Wrath just really loves this human woman he chose. He and Hoho trade stories about their adventures wooing strong-willed, slightly scary mortal women. They get drunk together once and cry into the night about how wonderful their wives are and the fact that their children are growing up before their eyes – “I don’t grow, Wrath, what are you talking about?” “My son sounds so grown up!” Both men sob harder.
Trisha and Mrs. Bradley become fast friends. They run a So-You-Married-an-Immortal support group. Currently they’re the only members. Meetings basically consist of them exchanging stories of the weirdest things they’ve ever seen their husbands do.
Pride becomes weirdly protective of the baby Elrics. Mostly because he believes Father wants to keep them safe and he’s the most loyal devoted son who will do anything Father wants, so he takes great pride (ha) in protecting the baby Elrics from every harm he can think of. He also looks the most similar in age to them, so he lets Father enroll him in the local school and watches over them while in class. The rest of the class and the teacher are absolutely terrified of him, because he mostly just sits behind Ed and glares at everyone who moves too close.
Ed and Al grow up with a really weird understanding of shadows – ie, convinced that they can definitely move independently and are physical things you can touch, because that one time Al tripped, a bunch of shadows definitely grabbed him before he hit the ground, placed him back on his feet, and patted his shoulder reassuringly for good measure.
Sloth does nothing, of course. He’s just happy he doesn’t have to dig that tunnel anymore. He mostly sleeps and Ed and Al try to figure out how much they can stack on him before he wakes up. Or how many times they can poke him. Or how loudly they can shout. Etc.
Somehow it turns out mostly okay though. Ed and Al make it into their teenage years without dying or any serious maiming. (Only Greed and Envy have been maimed, but their injuries heal so it’s fine.) They have at least two homunculi that are fiercely protective of them, one that usually at least has more fun fighting their enemies than them, one who acts like a weird uncle and showers them with gifts and random melons, and two that are pretty indifferent as long as they’re left alone. And Envy, who definitely still wants to make their lives as miserable as possible, but is at least usually outvoted by the other homunculi.
The Elric/Hohenheim family is very weird, but most of them (and Resembool) have accepted that. Trisha definitely would still kill any of them if they hurt her sons though.
Thanks for the prompt!

Lasagna: Paranormal Despacito
I did a livestream on YouTube, and wrote a one-shot with everyone watching. This is the result!
#LasagnaSquad
#AnxietyShipping
Summary: Lasagna Man has kidnapped Lloyd, and Jay has to save him. An adventure about falling in love, meeting new friends, and T-posing while singing Despacito.
Ninjago, 24th June 2018, 14:37
It was a nice noon in Ninjago. Cole was experimenting with food, when he felt something weird in his body. It was as if he was being possessed.
And he was.
Casper the ghost was very bored and took over his body to have fun. He took some tea from Wu's tea shelf and threw it in the lasagna. Then, he passed out.
It was Lloyd's turn to try out Cole's cooking. The ninja took turns eating it, since it was so terrible. With sorrow in his eyes, Lloyd took a bite.
He felt dizzy.
He was about to call Kai for help, but before he could say anything, he disappeared with the bowl of lasagna in hand.
Jay, who was at the room next door, heard a mini explosion. He ran to the kitchen, and was shocked to see Cole passed out. He slapped him.
"Wake up, Cole!" Jay said, slapping him. "What happened?"
Cole opened his eyes and stared at Jay. "Jay, Casper possessed me. Before I passed out completely, I saw Lloyd disappear. He popped out of existence. You have to help him."
And then, Cole passed out once again.
Jay knew what he had to do. He summoned his dragon while doing cyclondo at the same time, because I miss it since the Hagemans got rid of it. He went to his dad's lab and found his updated Borg Watch.
He looked into the screen of the tool and spotted some lasagna paranormal activity in a random dimension. He quickly pressed on the screen and teleported…
But he clicked on the wrong option, sending him somewhere else.
Queens, 24th June 2018, 15:49
Peter was at the verge of crying as he walked out of Stark Industries. He couldn't believe Tony didn't let him take part in their next mission. He was an Avenger! It was just unfair.
Peter looked up at the sky and saw a shooting star… but it was daytime! He soon realised it was nothing else but a screaming teenager falling from the sky.
Peter quickly shot some spider-webs and caught the young man, saving him from sure death.
"It's okay, buddy, I've got you now. You're safe!" Peter said, landing somewhere safe.
"I HAVE FINGERS!" Jay screamed, looking at his hands.
Peter was confused by the brunet's reaction. He looked at him, making eye contact.
He was beautiful.
He had never seen someone so beautiful. His freckles were adding to his adorableness. His bright blue eyes were staring back at him with the same curiosity.
"H-Hi…" Jay said, breaking the silence first. "Thanks for saving me."
"It's my job, don't worry about it." Peter said, placing him on the ground. It had only been a few seconds and he already missed his warmth. "I'm Peter."
"I'm gay." Jay said, and quickly regretted his choice of words. "I MEANT JAY!"
"Oh, you aren't?" Peter mumbled, disappointment filling his eyes. "Anyway, I was just-"
"Oh no! I forgot about Lloyd!" Jay interrupted.
"Who is Lloyd?" Peter asked.
"One of my best friends. He is like family. I have to save him!"
"I'll help!" Peter said. "It's not like I have anything left to do here."
"Okay, then let's go!" Jay said, grabbing Peter's arm and tapping on his watch's screen.
It was the best three seconds of Peter's life.
Detroit, 24th June 2039, 16:32
"Connor, stop licking the evidence for once in your life!" Hank complained, as Connor put the weird substunce on the floor into his mouth.
"It's… Strange." Connor said, after analyzing it. "It's thirium but it has lasagna in it."
"Pfff!" Hank huffed. "What kind of sick person would do that? More food for Sumo, I guess."
Suddenly, they heard two voices coming from the opening of the cave. They saw the shadow of two silhouettes holding hands.
"Stay back, Connor." Hank ordered, and Connor obeyed.
They soon came face to face with two teenage boys, who looked very lost, confused, but also… in love.
"Hi." Connor stepped in front of Hank, seeing how they were harmless. "My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by CyberLife. And you are?"
"I'm Peter Parker, also known as Spider-man in my dimension." Peter said, smiling.
"My name is Jay." Jay said. "Jay Walker."
Suddenly, Hank bursted into laughter. "HIS NAME IS JAY WALKER."
Peter glared at him and held Jay's hand tighter. "Don't you dare insult him, whatever-your-name-is!"
"I'm Hank Anderson." Hank said, holding back a laugh. "We're investigating a homicide."
"A homicide?" Jay gasped. "LLOYD IS DEAD?"
"We have yet to discover a body." Connor explained. "But there are traces of lasagna leading deep in this cave."
"I guess we should just team up, since we are looking for the same thing." Peter suggested, and no one went against it.
The group walked deeper into the cave, and suddenly, they heard a noise.
"TAKE COVER!" Jay screamed and fell on top of Peter to protect him.
A cheeseball flew past them.
Peter wanted to thank him, but he had no time, as another attack occured.
"What the fuck is happening?" Hank asked, clearly annoyed and shocked.
"YOU COME INTO MY HOUSE, DISRESPECT MY CHEESE."
The group looked ahead, seeing a yellow android standing in front of a cage.
On further notice, Jay realised that Lloyd was there!
"That's him! That's my friend!" Jay pointed at him. "Lloyd, are you okay?"
And then, something unbelievable happened.
"I'm okay, but fRESH AVOCADOO!"
"Is he always like that?" Peter asked.
"No…" Jay mumbled. "Something is wrong."
"I scanned him." Connor said. "He seems to be influenced by the lasagna. He can only meme, sing and rap."
"That's amazing." Hank snorted.
"Press F to pay respects." Lloyd said, tears rolling down his cheeks. He needed this to stop.
"I am sorry." Connor said. "The PS4 controller does not have an F. You can choose between the square, the triangle, the circle, and X."
"Oh, for fuck's sake, Connor, let's just kill this guy." Hank said, pointing his gun at the Lasagna Deviant.
A cheeseball fell on Jay's Borg Watch, and an explosion happened. In a matter of seconds, they all disappeared.
Minecraft, 24th June 2018, 17:38
Jay groaned, opening his eyes. He felt something soft. He looked around him, only to see that he was sitting on top of Peter.
His heart was beating fast and he just couldn't stop thinking about getting closer to the other teen.
"Oh no…" Hank mumbled. "It can't be…"
The lieutenant looked around him, in shock. As a millennial, he knew exactly where he was.
Minecraft.
"My powers are only becoming stronger here!" Lasagna Man said, standing up. "Prepare to die!"
"Not so fast!" Lloyd said. "I have the power of God and anime by my side!"
"That's right, deviant!" Connor stood next to Lloyd. "Even though I am a deviant myself-"
"You're going down!" Peter said, helping Jay up.
"Noteblocks, go!" Jay said, and music started playing.
Lloyd T-posed, determined to stop Lasagna Man.
"My name is Lloyd,
you're a stupid android.
My rhymes are sick
and you'll die quick."
Lasagna Man T-posed too, hatred in his eyes.
"I'm a lasagna,
and I'm a brotha.
Do you know da way?
I am going to slay!"
Connor stepped in, T-posing hardcore.
"My software is stronger
You're like internet explorer!
Give up,
or get-"
Hank interrupted Connor, smirking and T-posing.
"-FUCKED!"
Jay and Peter got up as one, T-posing, feeling stronger than ever.
"We met two hours ago,
our love is real, here we go.
Our gayness sends you to hell
while we're going to taco bell."
Lloyd broke the T-post first, dabbing. Then everyone followed.
"DE
SPA
CITO!"
And everyone joined in, singing the lyrics, which they absolutely knew to heart.
"Now is your chance, Lloyd!" Jay yelled. "The final blow! Only you can stop this!"
Lloyd cleared his throat, and built a guitar. "I DON'T WANNA DO THE DISHES, NO MORE, I DON'T WANNA DO THE DISHES, NO MORE!"
Lasagna Man fell on his knees. "No… You're too strong…"
"You'll never win, Lasagna Man!" Jay said. "It's over!"
"NOOOOOO!" Lasagna Man screamed and exploded.
It was raining cheese.
"Oh nice, food for Sumo!" Hank said, putting it all in the fridge he just built. Because Minecraft.
"Jay, I don't feel so good…" Peter mumbled, sensing the end was near.
"Oh no!" Jay said, looking at his watch. "We hit the nuclear note! We have to get out of here before we die with this universe!"
Peter used his spider-webs to tie everyone together, and Jay teleported them all back to Detroit, where they said goodbye to Hank and Connor.
Then, they went back to Queens.
"I'll give you guys a moment." Lloyd said, turning away.
"Jay…" Peter said, holding both of the teenager's hands in his. "You showed me that I don't need to be depended on someone else. I can save the world on my own. But today, you saved my world."
Jay felt tears forming in his eyes. "You saved my world too, Peter. I will never forget this or you. You're the most perfect person I've ever met."
The two teenagers leaned in, closing their eyes. Before they knew it, their lips were touching, and they were kissing.
Jay was the first one to pull away, making eye contact again. He couldn't believe he wouldn't see these beautiful eyes again. "I love you, Peter."
Peter nodded, tears running down his own cheeks. "I love you too, Jay. We will meet again."
"Yes. For now, this is goodbye, my love."
The two teenagers handshaked, and then Jay disappeared with Lloyd.
Ninjago, 24th June 2018, 18:27
"We're back, my homies! Alexa, play despacito." Lloyd said, sitting on the couch.
"Cool bro." Kai said.
"We met an android." Jay added.
"Other than me?" Zane asked.
"And Jay has a boyfriend now." Lloyd said, teasing the blue ninja. "Dab on the haters, my homies."
"JAY HAS A BOYFRIEND!?" Cole screamed, finally waking up.
It was going to be a long evening.
THE END.

THE CASE FOR WORTHY HEROES: Yagiz Egemen Decrypted | #review
Originally posted on Fb on February 27, 2018.
Here it goes. Y’all asked for it. But consider yourselves WARNED. I put a new definition on LONG Fb posts 😆. I did break it into parts so you can save the rest of the reading for another day. And I STILL haven’t watched the rest of the eps yet! 😵
PART I — Story Is As Story Does
It’s been told, that good writing essentially is not just about what is being SAID, but what is being SHOWN. That lazy writing only TELLS a story, instead of DISPLAYING it.
The key to Storytelling isn’t just in “telling" your story—it is in SHOWING it... ESPECIALLY in Filmmaking. It’s more than just the visual portrayal of a story’s characters coming alive in film, but the crucial demonstration of an Author's narrative to earn our faith in their story and its keystone characters.
For even in life, you trust a man’s actions, not just his words. At times, you can ONLY trust his actions, NOT at all his words despite how profound and persuasive they may be.
Words are POWERFUL. Remember that old nursery rhyme "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me”? Yeah. That’s not really true, is it? Don’t get me wrong, I understand why the rhyme was composed—to advise kids to ignore the vicious words that bullies may attack us with. But it’s undeniable, though try as we may to insist otherwise, that words could, and HAVE affected us, even so systemically profound to the very deep of our souls, with either LIFE... or with DESTRUCTION. We understand the ugly end of the spectrum, what that looks like—we have more suicides and shootings now in the U.S. at our high schools, and though many have been for different reasons, but just as many can be ascribed to lonely and unstable kids who've been bullied with ugly beatings both physical AND verbal. And so they returned fire with much more cruelty. And the price was much more deadly.
I believe writers and filmmakers overall have been given a significant gift to saturate culture either with life or destruction through their craft. With LOVE, or with its dark ABSENCE. What’s more, with what is actually TRUE about LOVE, instead of what is erroneous and false. You and I know, down to our deepest instincts, what we need more in this world.
Now ask yourself, what is it about the story of Yagiz Egemen that compels you so? Why does this character and his resiliency resonate with us in no less than remarkable measure? Even more than Hazan at times for many different occasions, if I may say, though Hazan Camkiran is a compelling character herself. But why are we so enthused to root for Yagiz in this tumultuous, and at times questionable—even ludicrous—dramatical narrative? And for his fascinatingly indefinable relationship with Hazan?—
Why are we still watching?
For the most part, we are able to give a comprehensive reasoning WHY something affects us so. But just like how INTUITION has been showcased in the Writers’ story as I had said last review, many of you have been INTUITIVELY assessing THEIR story, hence in how you have expressed it to each other about a certain scene or just overall plotline—“'I don’t know what it is…' 'I just can’t put it into words…' 'I can’t really describe it…' 'Hazan and Sinan together just doesn’t feel right…’ ‘You’ve put into words what I’ve been feeling about Yagiz and Hazan all along...'” And so on.
Though many have been able to translate into words, yet just as many of you, if not all, have basically responded with how you’ve FELT about the story. You've INTUITIVELY evaluated that there’s just something quite special about Yagiz Egemen... ESPECIALLY Yagiz together with Hazan.
It is in the synergy of how and what the Writers, Directors, and Cast have SHOWN—not just said and spoken—about Yagiz’ story alone, and Yagiz and Hazan’s together.
But what exactly have they SHOWN?
If you don’t mind another lengthy summation, well, let’s get crackin’, shall we? 😁
PART II — EPISODE 14: A New Beginning?
I’ve spent the past two reviews on the singular bond that Yagiz and Hazan share together and how it had developed through intuition for truth and series of instinctual behaviors. The thing is, it wasn’t so much of what they've SAID to each other, for we know that even after discovering it was Sinan who had been the perpetrator of the lies, Hazan still directed some pretty colorful choice of words at Yagiz about her keen mistrust of him. But funny thing is, what is being SHOWN with their actions concerning each other, contradict what they’ve said to, and or about each other. And ladies and gents (there ARE gents, right? We’re not all just crazy cupcakes here? 😆), like I’ve prefaced above, that’s what you can actually TRUST in these unpredictable happenings; As the old adage goes, actions DO speak louder than words. And what we can learn from E14... Pfft.. 🤣🤘😏
I definitely got the message, LOUD and CLEAR.
E14’s pivotal opening scene picked up from the ending of its preceding episode—Hazan FINALLY discovered who had betrayed her. It wasn't who she had thought it was. Her beloved... was NOT who she had thought he was. So what kind of man was Sinan Egemen? But then—
Just what kind of man—WHO WAS this Yagiz Egemen?
Well, missy, as we have covered last review, but let me expound a bit further on it: he’s quite the guy who’s been instinctually PROTECTIVE of you—so strung up was he to the point that he couldn’t even open a stinkin' car door properly when he was trying to get ya in his car, away from the fresh reminder and place of that crazy stunt ya pulled trying to put yourself in front of an insolent fool and his deadly gun. He also was the guy who had defended YOUR sister at the expense of HIS OWN sister’s good faith and adoration for him. The one who had sent the company lawyer to get ya outta jail, jeopardizing his good standing with his dad whom he had always and diligently aimed to please. Oh, he also sought to protect YOUR HEART from being broken from finding out how your mom had bargained you (AND your sister too, btw, by insinuating that HE had stolen Ece’s virtue and so he must pay)—all at the cost of HIS OWN PERSON by letting you to continue thinking that HE was a vile and disgusting son of a gun, even after finding out that it was his brother instead… All because he didn’t want you to end up on the streets and become fresh pickings for some unsavory characters, without the sustenance and protection that his family’s home could offer. Cause if you’d ever found out his brother's ugly betrayal towards you, he KNEW without a doubt that you would shun such security. And btw, he also had to return back to the company that he had resigned from, which he left under some very serious and still unresolved issues, in order to keep up the scheme that he’d thought would save you, but also work to provide a steady income that could give you the comforts and security you need should you try to leave the Egemen mansion in the future.
ALL without you even knowing just WHO has been truly looking out for you all along... And I have only covered his protective behavior up to E13 so far. Then again, I don’t think Yagiz would even recognize himself at this point. This certainly didn’t fit his M.O.—
Only a man in LOVE would display these types of actions and he certainly was NOT a man who LOVES a woman.
Right..?
ShuuUURE. 😏
Bro.
YOU’RE A GONER. A TOTAL GONER, I TELL YA! Michael Bolton is STILL pipin'—WHEN A MAAAAAAAAAAANNNN LOVES A WOOOMAN!—with his epic L’OREAL hair, and we’re ALLL singin' along. 💃🕺😂
(Disclaimer: I am not an official hairstylist for Michael Bolton nor have I been paid to endorse any L’OREAL hair products and represent its brand. Any attempt to recreate Mr. Bolton’s hairstyle or test his hair products, please do so at your own discretion) 😝
And I haven’t even BEGUN to really touch on E14 yet!
Shall we, then? 😃
PART III — EPISODE 14: An Unexpected Discovery?
In a sense, E14 IS a new beginning—Hazan discovered the TRUTH.
She and Yagiz were put on a path of discovery and it led them to each other with the corrupting lies finally removed. And so begun a new chapter, and its beginning is already filled with breathtaking development. I know some of y’all’s lungs seized to function properly at the sight of an unconscious Hazan at the strong arms of Yagiz Egemen, as the stunning view of the sparkling sea splayed behind them. That beautiful sight of that vast sea that may harbor unknown wonders isn’t the only one beautiful to behold. Nor the sea the only one with some hidden wonders.
WHEN A MAAAAAAAAAAANNN LOVES A WOOAAHH—
Okay, Bolton. We get it. LOVE is pretty darn beautiful. And oh-so wonderful to behold... JUST like this episode. 🤣
I mean, so ya witnessed the girl just passed out right in front of ya onto that hard pavement, and the perceptive and levelheaded Yagiz Egemen who was notorious for his striking intelligence and ruthlessly logical but successful solutions, would probably react just like any normal person who’d attempt to bring anybody to health, but do so JUST a tad more brilliantly.
He kidnapped the girl.
Pfft 😂
The man’s instincts were kicked up to HIGH GEAR. He didn’t trust ANYONE to take care of Hazan and keep her safe, at that point, but himself. Not even professional doctors, for the hospital was NOT his initial solution, only later on. He took her to his home. And check this—he didn’t put her in the other two bedrooms that his apartment accommodated.
He carried her to his room.
His bed.
HIS.
🙈🙈🙈
If Yagiz Egemen was a LION, what we’ve just witnessed is a magnificent beast MARKING his territory. With his scent that was all over those bed sheets and his keen, vigilant gaze, all imprinting on Hazan. And sure, this was still not a man in love, right. 😏
Then Hazan woke up. And for someone who DESPISED Yagiz Egemen, it took her some time to actually start yelling at him and take offense for taking her to his home and laying her on his bed. Her initial thought wasn’t even to have lit outta there if she couldn’t so much stand his presence...
But to ask for her phone 🤣—
Which in the midst of the shock and pain her discovery yielded, she had left at the studio, but somehow discovered that Yagiz had kept it after she came to, which tells me, the two even had a prior interaction, all in Yagiz room, before her anger actually emerged.
So Hazan was angrily anxious to get out. And Yagiz became increasingly anxious about her being anxious, her trembling, her ability to process things properly, and safely, aaand the darn stairs she was heading to!
Then Sinan showed up—
And Hazan would rather face the man who she had just taken offense for holding her in his arms than face his younger brother.
Last review, I said that it’s never a good idea to lie to cover a lie (heck, it’s never a good idea to lie at all), even if that lie was to save somebody—which was simply oxymoronic. I also said I understood why Yagiz did what he did with that fib—it was a quick solution he could come up with in that moment. And so, as Hazan turned back to face Yagiz in his hallway after shouting at his brother to leave, we now could see that Yagiz’ quickie “solution” was actually backfiring on him. Though Hazan finally discovered Sinan’s full treachery, she had a hard time believing that Yagiz’ scheme of making her the face of his cosmetic company was no cruel trap but Yagiz’ attempt—misguided and ill advised, though it was—in trying to save her. So Yagiz pled for her to trust him, he wasn’t trying to hurt her nor was this some cruel game he was playing, as Hazan accused him for humiliating her and for being just as disgusting as his vile lying brother—until that same lying brother breached the front door.
And Hazan instinctively RAN to take refuge in the very room of the very man she had said she did not trust. 😂
And Yagiz’ swift instincts was to prevent his brother from getting to her with that awesome block action. 🤣
I told ya 😎. The man was marking his TERRITORY. 🤘
So sitting on top of those stairs he had moments ago feared, Yagiz continued to wait patiently, and calmly, as his foolish younger brother wax philosophical to get his girlfriend back… Till he started beating on Yagiz’ bedroom door to breach it—the girlfriend he had betrayed refused to buy his monologue. A clashing of shoving brothers ensued. Then Sinan had the audacity to holler at Yagiz “not to interfere” and Yagiz harshly barked back to remind the senseless twit that it was him who had pushed his unsuspecting older brother straight deep into the muck. And with Yagiz' sharp words, this is where a key fact is revealed:
Yagiz takes ownership of this whole thing. He acknowledges that he is now deep in the thick of it. By his “interfering”, shows that he was no longer trying to bail off the path that he had not chosen for himself (of which attempts to do so, I had expounded on last review), one that was costing too much of him. Yet finally discovering the truth for himself, he feels responsible for his part (even for his brother’s actions, if I may say—he IS the same man who had apologized to Ece for his sister’s action on her behalf), and therefore responsible to care for the girl that they’ve wronged, who was now choosing to take refuge in his room. Yagiz knew it wasn’t going to be easy for Sinan to win her trust, let alone her affection. So he advised his brother to give her some space. Give himself time. And “Give her time."
Ha. With those words, Sinan was DOOMED. Ya leave those two alone, and your big brother will STEAL her heart. 😏
And so the adventure continued. Sinan left. And Hazan was back on that darn bed 🤣, but this time at her very own discretion. Then something metaphorically intriguing happened... (those Writers are good! 😆)
What Sinan failed to do with trying to force himself in, Yagiz succeeded to accomplish with a different way...
He opened the door with a KEY.
Here's the thing.
Hearts aren’t meant to be invaded. They are meant to be unlocked. With that seemingly trivial action, they are showing who actually possessed the keys to Hazan’s heart.
But that’s for later 😉.
So then I guess we can’t really call Yagiz a thief of hearts..? But he is a kidnapper with a really good lawyer 😂. Hazan dear, if you’ve actually chosen to take sanctuary in his home—his bedroom, in fact 🙈—there was no way he was going to let ya go without a fight. Like, LITERALLY—y’all saw those glass shards everywhere, right. Remember what he’d said to her earlier concerning Sinan? That “If he found the strength to go after you, he wasn't going to leave easily"? Yeah—that line was a twofold literary device meant to actually describe Yagiz, not his brother. In fact, “wasn’t going to leave easily” is an understatement—abduction is a straight up crime 🤣. But I guess Yagiz’ defense argument would hold up in court. He DID say that that day, his home was HERS 😆, and if it was actually Hazan’s house, then it wouldn’t be called kidnapping, right? 🤣Oh, shucks. I was really excited to add Professional Kidnapper to his titles. But at least we can still call him Huggable, for drunk and brokenhearted girls—with the penchant for passing out on sidewalks in pretty dresses and bare feet—in need of compassionate consolation. And, err, Hazan, for a kickboxing coach with an athletic degree, you do have a history of zonking out (not sure if it looks good on that resume, gurl)—By day you pass out on random sidewalks and by night on Yagiz’ arms. 😆 But at least it wasn’t as cold and hard as that dirty pavement—ugh, who knows who last spit on it—so good choice this time. And I guess falling asleep on the arms of Yagiz Egemen does spice up your resume and one does require a healthy balance of spice, sugar, and salt in one's life. 😂
Well, what else was Yagiz Egemen besides being huggable... Whelps, he was a definite sucker for tears for sure. It’s what made him huggable in the first place. And perhaps it’s what had turned him into Hazan’s personal face-washing assistant, too 😂. But he definitely turned to be her partner in crime. She did say she wanted Sinan to feel just as hurt, and so Yagiz made it official—and with her signature, he too became her boss who lets her sleep on his bed at night and makes her breakfast in the morning...
Bruh. Bosses don’t do that... HUSBANDS do that. They worry about protecting their wives and keeping them fed. And make sure their wives sleep on their bed.
Wonder then what your instincts were really trying to tell ya. 😁
PART IV — The Villainous and The Heroic
Every story boils down to one thing—
CONFLICT and RESOLVE (a.k.a Resolution).
PROBLEM and SOLUTION.
Hence you have a Villain as an agent of Conflict, and a Hero with a Solution to resolve it.
There are many, many stories out there, with their even more many, many, many Heroes. Many of them are worthy. Many are not.
I believe Yagiz Egemen is a worthy one. And I hope I’ve SHOWN, not just TOLD (get it? 😝), why he is, with what you’ve read above and even in prior reviews. But perhaps, to really appreciate even further how worthy of a Hero he is, is to see the contrast with one who had really been more villainous than he is heroic in this story… Sinan Egemen.
If you’s a Sinan stan, do accept my apologies for there will be some roasting happening in the next few minutes. He had it coming. Dude needs to be called out.
Since we were on E14, let’s pick up on what was happening at the end of the next episode. True to Yagiz’ anticipation, Hazan did leave the Egemen mansion after finding out her beloved had betrayed her and had then found shelter at Kerime’s place. But Sinan showed up late one night, unannounced, and certainly unwelcome, trying to get her back. Then Yagiz showed up.
“What are you doing here?” Sinan asked, confounded. To which Yagiz replied, “I will not explain to you.” 😎🤘😏 I told ya, the man had also marked his territory. And he does not have to answer to Sinan for it. Still, Sinan challenged with, “You came to talk to Hazan at this time at night?”
Oh, please. This kid tryna front. Get outta here.
This little immature snot just don’t get it. Kid tryna be all territorial but what a bloated blimp full of gas you are at the end. Literally, a minute later (yes, I know, it’s the next episode for us but ya get my point), where did all that protective manhood go when Kerime showed up? Let me explain.
I’ve observed in the Eastern world, and me being of mixed blood myself, how honor and respect is a serious thing—VERY serious thing, in fact. I won't really get all into it, but the bottom line is, if you live in your father’s house, he looks after you. You answer to him. Before it’s your house, it’s first HIS. You respect his authority and his duty to look out for you. Now Hazan was staying at Kerime’s house. In the beginning of E16 when all four of them, that is, Yagiz, Hazan, Kerime, and Sinan, were outside, just look at their body language, and by “their”, I mean Hazan and Kerime. Hazan was standing behind Kerime waiting respectfully. This was Kerime’s house, and technically, Hazan was then under her care, though at that point in time Kerime didn’t know who Hazan was and that Fazilet was scheming again. The point is, Yagiz, Hazan, and Sinan were under Fazilet’s conniving that Kerime was Hazan's kin, and the one sheltering her by allowing her to stay at her house.
So, this little weasel dared to front at his big brother, “questioning" the wisdom of his nightly visit (yeah, and there he was, this foolish mess of hypocrisy and arrogance, INVADING on Hazan's space when she clearly had told him to get the snuff out)—but who in the world was actually answering to the person who was sheltering Hazan, wishing her to get well, trying to be respectful, and in doing so might perhaps excuse their late night excursion to see her young kin… Well, FOR SURE it wasn’t Sinan. It was his “questionable" brother instead that he was trying to drill. The nerve. So please excuse my harshness for calling you a little immature snot at this point in time but you clearly need a whoopin’. Grow up, man. Please. Don’t try to front if ya can’t own up. You trying to defend Hazan’s honor really rings empty and hollow when you left it to your brother to really be the one responsible for BOTH of your presence there. If you really felt responsible for Hazan, if would’ve been YOU facing Kerime. The reason your brother was there in the first place was because he was busy trying to take care of everyone else; His—and btw, is YOURS, too, if you recall—sister in particular, who had been in his home earlier and at the very brink of losing it (sorry bruh, she did lose it actually, strangling Ece, all drunk and crazed, but you just didn’t know that that was going on YET) because his hero father had married a teenager who was younger than his own teenage daughter... But there you were trying to score some lip action. *SMH*. You’ve been so caught up in your own selfishness and pain, you didn’t even realize THE REST of your family were suffering too. But it was Yagiz here trying to make sure all y’all’s blasted tails were alright (which includes you too, Gokhan, but you flippin' ignored his call, so you can't really accuse him for not reaching out like you will when y'all finally get your siblings night later on). Yagiz went to Hazan to tell her to try to reel her sister in because Ece’s taunting Selin was creating more pain and anger instead. He certainly wasn't there to seduce her, like Sinan had been doing.
Now here’s the thing about LOVE; before it receives anything, it seeks to GIVE instead, because LOVE does not seek its own. In other words, it is NOT self-seeking. It’s time to really just call it for what it is—Even in this early stage of whatever was happening between Hazan and Sinan, at the end of the day, can you really call that LOVE? The heart of the matter is, Sinan wanted to get back with Hazan because of the comfort that she can offer him in this heartbreaking, confusing, and distressful time (did he not say that himself, though with a different preface?). Because if he really was looking out for Hazan’s best interests, he would’ve listened to what his brother had said back at Yagiz' home when Hazan was hiding in his room—Give her some time.
“Did you really expect that it was going to be that easy? Yok ya!” Yagiz had wisely but, vehemently, said to Sinan. In other words, prove, and show her, that you can be a trustworthy man. Then WIN her heart again. But instead, there he was trying to emotionally FORCE himself upon her. The girl had told you to get out but still you invaded on her space, trying to seduce her. Oh man. This is a huge RED FLAG. There's a word for someone who forces intimacy upon an unwilling participant. Any sane Dad woulda whooped the salt out of this guy. That is somebody’s priceless daughter right there!
Sinan can SAY that he loves Hazan but at the end of the day, he was still seeking after his own first, instead of putting her needs before him. How long did that “I will save Hazan from myself” from E14 really last? What? Two days? Three days tops? Pfft. Even your way of trying to free her from you was breaking her heart by way of expensive booze and cheap women, instead of just go man up like your brother’s been asking you to. And it was Yagiz having to clean up after your hammered and sorry tail. Again.
One must stand as a man and be accountable for who he is and his actions before he’d even thought to be responsible for another human being, especially a woman he desires to win. If not,
How could he be called worthy of her?
PART V — A Story’s Crown of Glory
Of a grand and worthy Story, what then would be its CROWN of GLORY?...
LOVE.
I believe that the glory of ANY story is when it tells and shows the timeless story of LOVE... even if a story is a superhero ACTION flick.
Yet, even for a Superhero—super powers or not—whether he knows what he’s doing trying to rescue his beloved girl and humanity or not; he’s still a Superhero worth his salt. Why? Because, again, LOVE, is his motivation. A Superhero out to save his own skin is one you can't really respect. Can you actually even call him a HERO? Just look at any war movies out there. It’s the same repeated theme that resonates with our hearts over and over again—
A Hero who rescues and lays down his life for others.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we identify LOVE to be.
In by no means is Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlar a perfect story. In fact, it is seriously flawed. I’ve said it above that it is at times ludicrous. You literally have THE MAIN leading character in which the show is partly named after, and from the get go she was no inspiring Hero but destructive Villain instead. A broken mother who breaks her children, because broken people break people. And so far, though we had witnessed some redeeming qualities in Fazilet Camikran, she had remained steadily villainous, and again, ludicrous. Sirma and her writing team’s got to work some serious muscle to redeem their main leading character if they'd any aspirations to finish strong, which I’m sure they do.
Caglar had mentioned that FHVK is a story about the complexities of the human soul. Within the soul of mankind, there are shades of dark so black that all have been both the victim and perpetrator of an unrighteous deed and deeds at various points of our life. BUT... Mankind is also capable of great compassion. Great sacrifice. And of the always much-needed GRACE.
You and I know, down to our deepest instincts, what we need more in this world.
There’s a reason why Caglar’s character have risen to prominence more than all the characters written in FVHK. Yagiz Egemen is NO perfect hero. But he IS a Hero who had displayed closer to its TRUE essence what this world really needs most—
LOVE.
And perhaps that is why we are all still watching.
With this, I bid you adieu.
Cheers 😁

Do you feel like kariya is a good person to look up to? Like I know day 4 happened but that's like the worst thing he did. And I honestly can't be mad because that "hello, villain? Screwing with you is my job." Line just hits me weird. I'm tempted to write a fic but I dunno
Now that is an interesting question. I see what you mean by "day 4 is the worst thing he did" but that's actually the only thing we see. And while that's the most nefarious action he took, that's the only one we saw, but he's been a Reaper for so long that he most likely erased hundreds of not thousands of players before. Is Kariya an overall good person? No, I don't think so.
But, as you said, "it's his job". Here we fall into the morals of the Reaper's Game and I'm afraid I'm not qualified enough to judge. But I can offer some ideas anyway.
What's the job of a Harrier Reaper? It's not to mindlessly erase Players to rack up points and rise up the ranks as Uzuki seems to believe. Kariya sees further: he knows that the Reapers (Harriers, Supports, Officers...) all have the common goal of helping to judge which Players are worth reviving. It's not about erasing them all, it's about putting up obstacles that will make them grow (for instance, erasing Rhyme was the way to help Beat grow, wasn't it?) and erasing those who are not strong enough to survive. It follows the basic rule of the Reaper's Game which is the survival of the fittest.
Now that rule can obviously be contested in many ways, as it is directly contested mulstiples times during twewy directly, and by Neku himself, who believes that all Players should live again. So there's mutiples questions here: do you agree with the survival of the fittest? If not, do you believe that because someone is asked to do something, then that takes away their responsibility in the actions taken (it's "just his job")?
I don't have any idea on how to answer those questions. Just food for thought!
But on the other hand, Kariya can be looked up to on some subjects. He knows what matters to him (Shibuya) and he's willing to risk his life for it (for instance, going against Shiba or helping Beat and Neku in week three of the og). There's many other steps he takes in order to protect Shibuya (finding the source of the Taboo Noise, trying to find out what Joshua's deal is, fighting against the Plague Noise on his own to protect the RG inhabitants from it...) which clash with his "lazy" personality and show that he can definitely give his all for something as long as it matters enough to him. That man got his priorities straight, I can admire that.
I wouldn't say that he likes to help people because we don't see him do it that often. I believe he's doing it with the same goal in mind that he has for everything else he does: Shibuya's well-being. He helps out Beat to grow because that's what the Game is about, and same for Rindo, because he knows that having people who win the Game and get revived is a good thing for the city thanks to the influence they will have on it (see Shiki's influence through Gatto Nero!).
In the end, to answer your question... it depends on what you believe in. Nobody's perfect, and there's definitely people worse than Kariya to look up to. But it's important to be aware of what his morals are, because of course he's very much a grey character when it comes to those.

Our way succeeded that America can still rise to the occasion we can put our differences aside and find commonality government can tell the truth and can build trust we can judge by content of character rather than color of skin we can care for one another that Americans can work together and forge community and a Morning Wood Running Team Start Hard Stay Hard Carpenter Vintage Retro T-Shirt competent government and of course we will wear masks because we are smart and because I care about you and because you care about me of course we will socially distance because staying away shows how close we actually are yes we will set up testing and tracing into whatever we need to do to mobilize to win this battle because we are America we win wars and we are the greatest country on the globe and for all the pain and all the tears our way worked and it was beautiful we show that our better angels a strong and that Americans will rise to their call we saw that even at the end of the day even if it is a long day that love wins America’s eyes have been opened and we have seen in this crisis the. Number and I look forward to that election and then that was just made up propaganda nap I am but by some of the many people that are working writing little statements I see all the time statement made you say says statement made per Joe Biden sleepy Joe he did make the statements that somebody did but they said he made it now I let him know I I’m not thinking about it or not it’ll not allow Madison in the report I haven’t seen the please go ahead and say anything this Saturday only nobody knows where he is so he obviously couldn’t have said it if you have a this is breaking news give Yellow Medicine on Saturday at oh thickset okay go ahead and listen to Leslie one more place in the back so yeah we’ve lost a lot of people but if you look at what original projections were 22 million were probably heading to 60 007 it has its far too many one person is too many for this and I think we met a lot of really good decisions the big decision was closing the border doing the band people coming in from China obviously. It hears that big showdown over Obama care which is the week after election day but the Republican rush to get her confirmed and the Senate’s refusal to even consider president Obama’s election year nomination to fill Justice Scalia’s vacancy has led to calls from many Democrats to increase the size of the Supreme Court if Biden is elected which of course the ideas to dilute the strength of the conservative justices so Biden saying he would have a commission to study at the Constitution does not specify how many justices the court should have that is set by Congress that number is changed half a dozen times it’s been nine for about 150 years but making the court bigger remains a highly controversial idea even among Democrats and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg opposed that she said last year that nine seem to be in the number savanna cam course is not just the presidency at stake is the makeup of Congress as well with Democrats obviously helping a strong performance in Job I would help them retake control the

report big faith into me the parade big prayers for me my mother would tell me this is she told me thisand she still says that she says God’s you usually got to do great things in your gotta learn to trust him she would say this you you can make a difference even when no one else’s first my next is that you can make a difference you can make a difference you can make a difference even if nobody else’s I believe it mother told me she got got something special for you these got an amazing anointing on you he’s going to use you to change the world powerful anointing on how believe it but I thought I was the only one also given a liaison to happen I gotta do something great for God he needs me I had no idea the got is a great anointing for every person has a great plan for every person God has a powerful moment a powerful anointing for every person before that verse of Scripture that says many are called but few are chosenand I’ve lived long enough to learn that those were chosen choose to be chosen at some point you gotta say I’m not going to go along to get along anymore I’m not going to just live to get to get bought home to say Lord here I am use me I’m going all in to whatever whenever however wear whatever you want from me that you were doingand hope city you’re never going to come hereand feel quite all the way comfortable drop jokes is okay not do that I tried to preach super series before work drive but I’ve always been a push you little bit outside your comfort zone because as regards pulled your callingsand comfort zones don’t go hand in hand Scott’s called you to go all inand do something amazing at our church we try to make it easy for you to do that we give your growth track AS you go through growth track you can learn more about our churchand you can learn more about yourself is ultimately got called you to do something specific that is some point you gotta say okay I can just be anonymousand the kingdom you got a plan for me you got a purpose for meand I want to go all in what would happen if today you went all in I asked people at our church but say this is the beginning of our church if you just give me one year just give me your go through growth track get in a group get in the group turns my next is a unique group saw me on the life or Bob group she automateand integrate to be in a group of people are helping you grow or help you learn your help you study the word of God Jesus when Jesus is first whenever he started his earthly ministry to go to group to follow disciples 12 he built a group he left his his kingdom he left the expansion of the church to a group you need to be in a group jump on the dream team watch what God does in your life in a year will happen if you went all in there many of you were here at one of our campuses for the very first timeand you came because your mama use the mama car on youand she was like the only thing that I want for Mother’s Day is for you to get yourself in church like I mama go to churchand you’re hereand you know what were not agreed upon you went on to make you feel bad for the honorand celebrate you become the church today thank you for what would happen if next week if you blow your mom’s mindand you showed up at just walked in this episode as I find joy last week on here this weekend for me not just for you your mom but you never know God called you to do something great you want to just go all in stop making excuses also part of the hard things got got great things for you but sometimes you gotta make a commitment Thomas Edison said most people miss opportunities because it’s dressed in overallsand looks like work what if you went all in it’s okay God I know this thing they look like a challenge him actually give you my life to give you my future to give you everything that I have all of me what would it unlock in your life if you just said okay I believe that I can make a difference even when nobody else’s nobody else in my families ever done this or maybe nobody else in my friend group is ever done is is going to go all in the challenges oftentimes we don’t we don’t want to take personal responsibility actually go all in words a dads that was all the dads that were your dad list of all of our dads a great big guys so you’re saying why are we honoring fathers on Mother’s Day that’s weird I will tell you here’s why because I want I want to encourage men or encourage our men because oftentimes this out outside of Easter the second typically the second largest attended weekend service in a year in American churches is Mother’s Day because mom is like everybody’s going to church with me todayand we honor moms like mom you’re amazingand one of the lowest attended weekend servicesand all the year is Father’s Day I don’t know why that is but I tend to think that is because on Mother’s Day weekend churches like mom you’re amazing chocolate covered strawberries or some sorbet we love you hear some rosesand a policy right about yourself a lot lately but I think would be an idiot not hope city we honor fathers were grateful for the men here who believe we love our menand our chart having said that some thousand sometimes bills because certain responsibility right now not your work in a condo city are hard working men all miss that you were hard working men but when we get home like hard Reston manual me like mom is never quit they never stop working it’s constant they can work 87 hours during the week will make somebody’s bed both bodies of dirty clothesand change 17 dirty diapers kicked somebody in the seat of the pants like predicate inadequate acting crazy that comes always I was remote list you know intelligence because like that Amy you come home you go get that plastic cup that weird plastic of this like faded but you keep itand you go go to the refrigerator you go get some ice in it because the mice in your overflow lies in it falls on the floor going to pick it up to you now kick it on the fritz don’t to death know why I know is what your boy does know what was wrong with you what came to pick up unlike us water is evaporated to go become a cloud on the help of Jesus some of we like to take responsibility not just meant everybody manual me like wherever we go shopping with our wives bless America my wife told me couple years ago she said I must go to the mall’s like your boy don’t do the ball so we’re on our way to the mall I already pantyhose my family don’t you don’t you be questioning with the malland would win when moms go to the mall like looking for a sale they’re looking for a deal they’re looking for the discount rack promote somebody you spend just as much money you just want more for your money right men when we go shopping with you we are not looking for a deal were not looking for sale not looking for the discount rack will look at one thing what are we looking for fellows for chair that’s right perch I just want to see a godforsaken chair that is not in the shoe department all the way over there effective you own a department store on his will give you something extra to sprinkle chairs liberally throughout your store we would love to go shopping at your store if there’s a chair will sit on anything your domain willing to push some for some shirts are likely to we find that share that share is like a waste is in the desertand we run for were like right do you have everything you need to start naming off places in the store that she might’ve forgot to go because once you relinquish your chair is fair game I think there should be like a 10 foot rule you want me what you get 10 feet off the check is us what happens to me all the church is like all honey I forgot you turnaround is like a 78 year old man Artie sit in your territory like finders keepers alike best playgrounds are should give me a chance few years ago we were in a department storeand I’m looking for a chairand I found one but it was a part of the decoration it’s a benchand they actually have manikins sitting on unlike why I saw this is just a number of moving your resolve this matter manikin so as I moved in beside the medicand I guess I’ll brush your arm I don’t know what happened in her arms like thisand whenever I set up so she was like like it my leg is if you do you gotta know what was in our raw guys are starting to move her arm back upand when I try to move your arm back up her arm came off in my head like youand I like looking women try to put her arm back on to try to put her on the whole upper body fell overand this is what I ended up with you right here Soma picture this when I in the prior site is legal because the bids like she was prayingand if you look at the you see her forearms is laid out on thereand I was like walking awayand as the walk Even in a world of heroes Los Santos is too corrupt for any true good to prosper. The Supers who come to fight the good fight soon fall, retreating from an unwinnable battle, being brutally murdered and made public warning or, worse, plunging fast and hard into the ever growing ranks of villainy that rule the city. And really, is there anything more dangerous than a villain with a cause? A baddie with all the self-entitled righteousness of a former hero, the taste for glory, for public deference, for power. It’s not like there are rules, no handbook for the Powered to follow, checkboxes for being good vs being evil, no set destiny determining that one must be one or the other but things always seem to play out in the same way. Humans aren't half as complex as they'd like to believe, all follow the same broad paths sooner or later; the ones who hide themselves away, the ones who take what they want, and the ones who think to stand up and protect their idea of justice. When the Powered came into the public eye there was fear, jealously, there were calls to register, to lock up the powerful, demands to go to any extreme to ensure the protection of the Non-powered. Not all Powers are equal, for every terrifyingly notable gift there are dozens of negligible abilities, little more than party tricks or cosmetic changes, but most Non-powered didn’t care to see the difference. The lack of rhyme or reason scared them, the fact that unknown powers may have manifested in anyone from a childhood friend to a nephew, a nun to a super-max criminal, newfound supremacy with no regard for class or wealth. Many of the Powered were talented beyond belief, some stronger than anyone could deem reasonable, but the Non-powered would always have numbers and the ever reliable quality of hating anyone who was different. Overall it was handled poorly, even in areas not screaming for imprisonment or execution, places where Powers were seen as gifts, amazing and awe-inspiring, society simply lacked adequate infrastructure to support so many new abilities. Prison cells were no longer adequately applicable to all people, some were now immune to necessary medicines, the limits of human weight and strength had gone out the window and airspace no longer belonged solely to machines. Worse though was the fact that there was nothing in place to protect the Powered from the hateful masses, nothing to help identify and channel the newly Powered into appropriate support and education programs, nothing to mitigate the growing tensions and unease. And, yes, nothing at all which could combat the inevitable pushback, fight off the onslaught of Powered coming for law-enforcement and society alike, not just actual criminals but also mismanaged children and the inescapable furious retribution from regular Powered when it all goes wrong. It was a dark time, Powered persecuted without cause or mercy and Non-Powered constantly looking over their shoulders lest they be the target of rebel vengeance, a world-wide uproar which eventually gave rise to the Supers. Because there were of course Powered who believed in justice, who wanted to help, who stood up to stand up against their own kind when things got dire and led the charge to bring peace and understanding between Powered and Non. So things eventually settle, an uneasy truce, but there will always be those who use their Powers for their own benefits, society be damned, just as there will always be the do-gooders using their Powers to police how others behave. It of course takes the general public no time at all to start referring to them as Heroes and Villains, the comparison too close to ignore despite the general lack of spandex, but there was never going to be such a clean division. Clearly those who think it’s simply black or white have never had to define the Powered who were scouted for shady corporations or government wet work, never had to draw the line between political or military ‘heroes’ and vigilante ‘villains’. Clearly those people had never been to Los Santos, where the heroes could be just as bad, could be far, far worse, than the villains had any hope of being. It’s all well and good for the villains in Los Santos, at least a while - better to have the heroes get on board than have them chasing you down and ruining your every plan -  but it’s getting a bit crowded to be honest. It's hard to stretch your wings as a bad guy when there's no one left to push back against, when on every job you trip over half a dozen bozos running their own gigs. When the levels of depravity some of these assholes stoop to start giving all the regular villains a bad name. So, something has to be done, and if the good guys can't hack it, the bad guys are going to have to. Or at least that’s how Ramsey sells it when he’s dragging a pack of semi-reluctant crooks together, cherry picking powers and personalities to build what will be an undeniably formidable crew so long as he can get them all onside. Considering Geoff’s gift of telepathy and thought implantation, limited though it may be, getting everyone to sign up and play nice with one another isn’t quite as difficult as one would expect. Some of his choices are crooks he’s already worked with, Powers tried and tested, those who Geoff trusts more than anyone else on earth. Most notably of these are his ever faithful right hand, Jack, who manipulates wind and weather, and the ineffable Lindsay with her flaming wings. Then there’s Matt Bragg’s technological genius, Trevor’s ability to defy notice and walk unseen, Steffie’s unearthly level of multi-tasking and information analysis, and the host of loyal Powered friends they bring to the table. Even the ringers who Geoff’s not actually trialled have been vigorously investigated, carefully selected from the hundreds of possible Powered criminals in Los Santos. He’d built up some rapport with the foreigner, Free, who’s been running with two other Powered, a little crew he won’t leave behind, not that Geoff actually wants him to. He was after Gavin’s power, inherent luck and the manipulation of probabilities an indispensable quality in his endeavour, but he’d be a fool not to snatch up Gavin’s friends while he’s at it. Jones with his control of heat, of fire and ice, and Dooley’s ability to change his own density at will makes the pair near indomitable in a fight, an unquestionably powerful duo to have in your corner. And last, but by no means least, was the terrible Vagabond, the corrupted healer who takes people apart from the inside out, a living nightmare even in Los Santos. Ryan was by far the hardest to win over to the cause, but once he’s in Geoff knows they’re golden. It’s quite a line-up but even with that security there is no scattergun approach, Geoff’s done his homework, has villains and ex-heroes categorised by the danger their powers pose and the difficulty in taking them down. The first few jobs are so quick and ruthless the targets have no time to see them coming, to prepare proper defences, no chance to combat the array of abilities they’re faced with. From there word gets out, but while they lose the element of surprise they’re still in the unique position of being united; it’s so rare for those who are Powered to truly combine forces, rarer still in a group of more than two or three, and without any backstabbing or infighting Ramsey’s collection have found themselves to be near unstoppable. Between them they have the best plans, horrifyingly efficient fighters, have infiltration, manipulation and extermination completely covered. Hell they even have a preternaturally skilful wheelman to get them all the hell out of dodge when things take a turn. Perhaps best of all, though, is the fact that to some degree they have the support of the city; law enforcement, struggling Supers and civilians alike, who’ve noticed this new group shaking up the powers that be in the underbelly of the city. Who might not all be actively helping but certainly aren’t hindering, stepping back and giving Geoff and his people free reign to finally fix up the wicked city. So for a moment they are beacons, a spot of light pushing back the darkness in Los Santos, persevering where others have been crushed, relentless in their quest to take out the worst elements of the city. It is, of course, difficult to be swayed from the right path when you were never on it in the first place, can’t fall from grace when you never had any to start with. Ramsey’s gang seem invulnerable to the filth and corruption of Los Santos simply because the darkness was in them all along, their goals have never been anything close to altruistic. Some still believe, see only what they have intentionally been shown, think Ramsey’s crew vigilantes, perhaps too harsh, too violent, but only out of necessity, the strong hand of justice the depraved city of sin has been crying out for. They think the attacks will cease once the city has been cleansed, cheer on their counterfeit champions right up until the moment they finally realise that they’ve been played, that Ramsey and his gang of reprobates will never be the good guys. Because no matter what the idealists would like to believe, no matter what other crooks might sneer and spit, no one who’s paying attention could truly think Ramsey’s crew had gone light side, not by a long shot. They take down other villains, yes, but not in ways the so called good would approve of, not peacefully, not humanely, not even remotely quick, clean or painless. They take down other villains, sure, but for their own benefit, for their own power and greed, their own amusement. They take down other villains but they don’t spare the cops. They take down other villain’s but they aren’t saving civilians, aren’t restoring peace, they don’t return stolen goods or misappropriated funds, don’t seek to inspire children or bring safety back to the streets. When all the Powered formidable enough to have half a chance of beating them have been overthrown, Ramsey and his crew are right there to see their plan through. They’ve not been cleaning up Los Santos so much as they’ve been claiming it, taking full control over the city that has been thought for so long to be utterly untameable, all the while ensuring there will be no one left to challenge them. An empire built on fallen bodies, tacitly approved by the masses, a violent take over sold under the guise of justice. And in that they have found a whole new way to be devious, a fresh take on villainy, giving hope to those who'd thought themselves hopeless only to dash it all away again. Those false heroes, those reprehensible Fakes.

When Its Time To Walk Away Pt.4
Preview to The Long Goodbye
Back to Part III
youtube
All Men Are Brothers
Karma: There was this great kung fu western flick my god brother Kenny brought over called All Men Are Brothers: Blood of the Leopard which was adaptation of the Chinese classic Water Margin. It was the story of a high level government official who must choose between his position and his allegiance to a rough street monk who is very anti-corruption in the government. It represented so many relationships at that time. My god brother Wayne was really loud and boisterous, but when I was around he was always calming me down to learn discretion. When he died of cancer in 1997 it put a large hole in my heart. Somehow I ended up becoming that person that was calming folks down and was caught between the diplomacy and the ethical outrage of the people I was around. We would leave shows in San Jose, San Luis Obispo or San Antonio. It would be 3am as we drove home. Somehow at every gas station there was a group of young men about to fight. Somehow there was some kid at an IHOP looking at his pager like “I’m going to get revenge”. Somehow I always seemed to put myself in the middle and talk them down. Somehow I never got shot.
Koncepts: just a perfect song man. we were all really vibrating on the same frequency. I love the little glass clinks and crowd ambiance from the sample. and the kick drum knocks so hard. that’s that Bay Area shit man, a mellow ass sample and deep bass.

Ashes To Ase
Karma: We would perform a lot in the “hip hop” room at raves. That was the culture of the 90’s. Hypnotic hated it because he didn’t feel techno. However to be quite honest, the women at raves were thousand times better looking and more stable than the women who went to hip hop. The baddest of them used to hang in the “jungle” room – a rough amalgamation of actual jungle, trip hop, drum and base as well as what would eventually be dub step. Kirby and I loved going back forth over those beats. We could rap for hours over the stuff. For me it brought me home to Jupiter, Florida. It put me in the red clay of Georgia. It gave me the woods of Mississippi. I loved obscure southern rap and especially enjoyed the bounce aspect. I also appreciated the underestimation that California and New York put upon southern rap. It paralleled the mistake many crews in the Bay ran into. They dissed us on tape, we responded by snatching the mics at their show and serving them. Then they took it outside to battle and got demolished. Then they wanted to throw hands and lost there too. This track is a narrative to that. At the time we wouldn’t have seen it that way.
Koncepts: I feel a way about this song. It’s fucking amazing - the beat, the rhymes, the hook… my god. and when we dropped this at a show? bedlam. but it has a kind of ignoble history. My partner Zvi and I had this Delia Gartrell 45, which is this brutal ballad about a woman’s son dying in the Vietnam war, and we chopped it real slow. Zvi had the idea of chopping up Skull Snaps and doing a bounce pattern with it. It was unique, no one was doing bounce drums with samples, especially not old school breakbeats. Anyway, we kinda fucked up the money because we also gave this track to Mazzi [rapper with our other group the Soul Purpose] and it was like, ok, let’s see who does what with it… Mazzi made an incredible track called “1 and 9” about being from the hood in Jersey. It was super ill. So we had this issue, who could use the beat? Nobody even cares about shit like that anymore, but back then it was a real problem. Zvi wanted to roll with Mazzi’s version, I was on the fence. Anyway, I feel like that disagreement was another one that ended up torpedoing the project. And what’s sad is that neither song ever came out - the Soul Purpose project fell apart not too long after and the album we were working on never made it out of the demo stage. Nowadays I prefer “Ashes” to “1 and 9”. But at the time I couldn’t call it.

My Morning Star
Karma: Perhaps the most honest writing anyone was doing in (w)rap™ at that age. I was in my early twenties trying to understand what it meant to be a man while facing a divorce like end to my long term relationship. There were some rules we made up to protect our esteem. One of them was we wouldn’t date women we met in the industry because it led to hardship later. I think that put so much expectation on the women we fell in love with outside of music that when those relationships crumbled it hurt us even more. On top of which, Hypnotic and I were facing this same debacle every time: why does it seem like self-control and discipline gets punished. Simply put, we both were in faithful parties in long term relationships that ended when our romantic partners were not faithful. That combined with life in show biz, turned us bitter when we stuck to the honor code.
Koncepts: this beat is mad mournful with that one drawn out note that descends and ascends in the chords. I used an SP1200 on a lot of the Auditron drums courtesy of my partner Zvi and you can hear the programming gets a lot better and the drums are chunkier. Ka and Ba perfectly wrote this for how the beat felt to me. Vulnerable and hurt but still standing strong. It’s a shame the project never came out because there are so many tracks that I felt were just the perfect distillation of a feeling, this was one of those. Probably my personal favorite now.
youtube
Ba
Koncepts: I love this song man. Ba really showed his heart on it. And it takes skill to rap over something like this which is kinda mellow and laid back but not like, sad or down. the loop just gets me in a zone; very based. this might have been an intro beat or slated for Per Aa Ra’s project originally. There were earlier takes that I felt like Ba nailed it a bit better. But you couldn’t save takes back then and we had that stupid belief that a) we have to deliver everything in one take and b) we can definitely do the next one better. so it goes.
Karma: I remember when this was done and I would drive around with mix downs, this was the soundtrack to getting through traffic. It became synonymous with “things are going to be all right”. I struggled for many years to explain what this meant without falling into esoteric answers or metaphysics. One thing my Dad was very good at impressing upon me was “don’t feed steak to children” meaning don’t waste your time trying to explain complexities people don’t want to learn. In of myself, I was learning how to be more efficient and not waste my time. This song really gave folks a sense of optimism.
youtube
The Final Conflict
Karma: Why a final conflict? One thing I have come to terms with and this album should evidence – I can see things before they happen. I am not going to spend a single second of time on weirdos defending it. I will just state – people were downloading music from www.kemeticsuns.com three years before Napster. Towards the middle of 1997, something was changing in the Bay Area. I was starting to get fans who worked at something called a “tech company” who would invite me to work as a contractor. They had website that had millions behind them but they couldn’t tell you what they did all day. They wanted to pay me to tell them what was cool. More and more I saw a reliance on machines as the new free labor. The dot come boom was becoming a second gold rush and I was aware it had it limits. In 2017, the largest obstacle facing the American worker is not automation. It is the perception that automation demands a better quality of life for all. There are some very good thinkers on this subject but I would direct attention at Berkeley’s own Phillip K. Dick, Frank Herbert and William Gibson.
The point being, the matter of artificial intelligence is not an if, it’s a when. Once this consciousness evolves, it will split in its belief systems. If humans can be cruel, please believe there are machine gods that can be crueler. I am reminded of the quote by Francis de la Rochefoucauld, “Man believes he has abandoned his vices when in fact they abandoned him long ago”. Now looking at where we are with a new year, self driving cars and a new a president, I suspect we are at the placed I had hoped to avoid. Maybe there are some jewels in here for our fans in the years to come.

so like FULL of Star Wars Spoilers
but with Episode IX coming out let’s take a minute to remember that the Skywalker Saga is LITERALLY a rhyming poem
Starting with Anakin
a young slave boy who was bathed in optimistic light when freed by Qui Gon to be Raised as a the Chosen one in the Jedi Order, but being influenced and pulled to the dark by Palpatine and we’re seeing it END with Ben Solo- essentially a PRINCE who we see start “his journey” in the darkness due to Snoke while feeling the pull to the Light.
Both young men sadly in their pain, darkest points of their lives- are brought to the point where they commit patricide (Anakin killing Obi Wan who raised him and was more than a father to him, and Ben killing his father because his father came to save him)
Anakin and Ben both had a life of pain
Anakin
spent his childhood as a slave
watched his mother die in his arms
lost his arm traumatically in combat
was a general in a galaxy spanning war from the ages of ~20-23, where under his command- MANY clones died because of his orders and he suffered injuries including a scar on his face and many electrocutions
during a dark as hell fall to the Sith, slaughtered children and those who til that night he considered his family (the Jedi Order) including children
lost his legs and other arm to his former best friend
suffered EXTREME full body burns
believed he killed his wife and unborn child(ren)
Ben
from the womb was being influenced by Snoke
had parents who were not TOO busy for him but home life was less than ideal
exhibited his powers early and was “too much” for his parents who were not equipped to handle that due to their lives (politics and smuggling/racing/etc)
was in the dark about his grandfather
trained by a LIVING LEGEND/is the nephew of said legend, discovered hes the grandson of the most hated person in the galaxy
believes his uncle tried to kill him
abused and tortured mentally/emotionally by his second teacher (Snoke)
both these men went through all of this practically alone
Anakin because the Jedi were...failures for lack of better terminology in terms of raising ACTUAL feeling people- they told this 9 year old who grew up a slave that he was their messiah but then spent 10+ years throwing limits and rules and distrust and hypocrisy at them during a time where he is pulled into a galactic conflict/civil war and has to make decisions that impact so many- his own instructor/father figure wasn’t READY to raise a child due to trauma he had experienced in losing his master before taking on Anakin out of loyalty to said dead teacher on top of Anakin being forced to hide his wife/fears regarding her fate all so that the mentor figure who DID know...manipulated it
Ben grew up feeling unwanted, undeserving of anything good because his mother was involved extremely in politics and was’t as adept in the Force, his own father openly said he exhibited traits like Vader, his uncle/mother/father hid the identity of his grandfather and he FOUND OUT not from family so the betrayal/fear and anger coming from that lie of omission destroyed trust
Snoke and Palpatine BOTH abused their apprentices
Palpatine abused Anakin/Vader by gas lighting him, grooming him to distrust those who cared about him, implanted fear he would fail at the things he expressed anxiety of (protecting his wife) then when he needed the suit to live- Palpatine purposely spent YEARS abusing him for failing to kill Obi Wan/suffering the injuries he endured. The way of the Sith or not...it was abuse from a teacher that resulted in decades of Anakin hating himself more than ANYTHING in the galaxy it was the source of his darkness- a never ending pit of self hatred
Snoke physically and emotionally beat and broke Ben- comparing him to Vader but implying he wasn’t STRONG ENOUGH to surpass his grandfather, flat out stating that if Snoke could turn Luke, he would not even THINK about Ben as worth his time, screams at him and strikes him with force lightning when Ben failed to defeat Rey and even more- ridicules and publicly humiliates him in front of Hux/Praetorian guards to make an example
Now are they 100% free from responsibility? NO not in the SLIGHTEST
Ben and Anakin both could have done MANY things to change their fates, however to place all the blame SOLELY on them, but then accept Anakin’s redemption but refute Ben’s
especially when only Padme/Luke forgave/believe in Anakin (Obi Wan/Yoda- wrote him off were ready to kill him- instructed LUKE to do it HIS SON WAS BRED TO KILL THE FATHER- thats A+ child raising there)
Luke, Leia, Rey and HAN all forgive Ben. They love him and want him to come home. Meaning he’s still deserving too.
The two men are mirrors of each other
Anakin “was too weak” and Vader “destroyed him”
Ben Solo was weak...and Kylo Ren destroyed him
both are literally examples of masculinity being so toxic that the dark parts of it (hatred, anger, abuse, jealousy, fear, anxiety, etc) consume and destroy the good
Anakin and Ben suffer consequences for their falls (loss of family, friends, loved ones, physical deformation, scarring, mental/emotional wounds that would take YEARS of therapy to come back from) but despite all that- deep down both keep humanity sparks in that dark pit.
Anakin upon discovering Luke’s his son- REACHES OUT and TRIES to form a bond. YES A BAD ONE (turn luke to kill the emperor as father/son combo) but it was that bond, that SON that saved him he died saving his son because it was all he had left of Padme, of Obi Wan, of his humanity.
Ben...yes killed his father. Yes “killed his uncle/teacher” (just like his grammpy) but struggles to kill Rey- looking for ways to keep her alive/by his side and ACTUALLY CHOSE to not kill his mother when he HAD THE CHANCE another First Order TIE Fighter took the shot, after Ben took his hand off the trigger. His mother - the FEMININE stayed his hand.
Both men are drowning in the toxic masculinity, they need to climb out on their own and pay for their crimes yes, but the help from feminine in their lives (the women/ hell even healthy masculine) has to be introduced and allowed to flourish in them externally
