I love your personality for dottore’s character! I like how he demonstrates his intelligence in a way that is not overbearing and cocky and how his actions have deep meanings behind them and not just for his satisfaction like most interpretations. how do you go about making such a character? Is it from purely your own perspective or is it influenced by other characters, books, philosophy concepts or any other piece of media?
Hi!
Some of his character is a personal interpretation but it’s based on a foundation from several other analyses and canon material that we have from the game.
Namely, some of the following Reddit threads:
Sadist or Scientist?
Dottore as a Villain and Sumeru’s Dysfunction
The Heresies of Il Dottore
There’s also a very long thread in this sub that’s living rent free
Along with the manga where we get a few crumbs for Celestia lore/Dottore’s perspective on allogenes, the Archon quest voicelines and Scara’s character quest, and Zandik’s notes found in the overworld.
@/ellalalala and localplaguenurse and haeresysabound also have their own analyses that prove really helpful and look at different facets of his character.
Most of it is a logical progression of how someone like him would think. He’s rational, observed before he acts, and doesn’t so much predict as follow the logic behind someone’s previous patterns of behavior. He’s arrogant to a fault but it’s posturing; a lot of people display that kind of behavior in the real world.
Most of the time, I start with a situation and, based on all of the above, I play, “what would Dottore do?”
He’s ultimately insatiably curious, chasing knowledge for the sake of it, just to see what happens.
Machines help him to understand the world and his interpretation of it. It goes to show how detached he is to consider a human body is nothing but a machine of its own, capable of surpassing the divine.
He’s more human than anyone because he seeks to understand and push the limitations; humans are naturally curious creatures who long to make the world better and leave a legacy behind.
But it’s not chaotic. It’s not The Joker style of curiosity where it’s bombastic and wild, a twisted version of a joke.
I’d argue that Webtorre is The Joker while Omega and in-game Dottore is Scarecrow.
And this is where myself (and others) differ because I do not think Dottore is a sadist. That he wants to harm people. It’s very obvious in several notes that, while not signed, are written in a manner that you know it’s Dottore. There’s one that lists several subjects and he considers the actions taken by a subordinate (I think it’s torturing one of them? Something drastic, will check) to be a waste of resources.
Is he apathetic? More than likely.
Does he enjoy seeing others suffer? Probably not. Why else would he be looking for a cure for Elezar, even as a byproduct to understanding the Withering?
He would probably actually be a failure at relationships precisely because he doesn’t know how to connect with people. If he would want to pursue a meaningful connection, there’s a lot stacked against him between trust issues built up over centuries, a detached worldview, and more than likely, a skewed sense of self (he’s arrogant but to a fault where he’s clearly still sensitive about how no one but himself sees him as a scholar). So many of the meaningful reasonings to his actions stem from this in particular.
My personal suggestions for additional insight would be:
Most renditions of the Scarecrow from Batman. How he sees fear is how I imagine Dottore understands knowledge. The more you have of it, the less you can fear, the better to understand the world around you.
I’ll put more here as they come to mind, because I’m definitely forgetting others at the moment.

I LOVE YOUR POINTS ON THE EVER AFTER POST. YES YES YES.
Thank you so much friend! I am alas a person who forever has a lot of Fairy Tale And Folklore Thoughts™️ equally coupled with my feminist lens, and I find a lot of analysis tends to go into the black and white instead of accepting stories as reflections of cultural worldviews within the time/place from which they originate, for better and for worse, and that value can be gleaned as well as criticism can be made. Anyone who follows me knows I have a bee in my bonnet about the Let Women [in period pieces] Be Unapologetically Feminine brigade and their angry insistence that any feminist lens or challenging of the social mores of a period piece, classic, or otherwise historical work is anachronistic, and Actually We Loved Being Oppressed And Didn't Know To Complain And Nonconforming People Were Freaks and I do feel this way in my approach to fairy tales as well.
If you don't mind me getting a bit controversial, this is why the liberal feminist side of the backlash to Rachel Zegler's Snow White comments about her being afforded more agency and interiority than a film written nearly 100 years ago by white American men adapting a centuries-old fairy tale (the racist chuds were to be expected) was so disingenuous and disheartening. "why isn't it Empowering if a female character is kind and sweet and feminine despite her suffering and Lets Herself Be Rescued" do you hear yourself!!! that's what patriarchy still expects/demands of us!! While generic Girlbossing of fairy tales is annoying (and can have the subtext of victim blaming of the "why didn't you fight back" variety), it's not much better to be Ashamed Women Are So Simple and Actually The Men Were Right To Tell Us What To Do.
Perreault's (and to a lesser extent, Grimm's) Cinderella has a psychologically realistic response to abuse that a real person should never be shamed for, but likewise, she is a fictional figure meant to instruct (in the former case) upper class young ladies in pre-Revolutionary France that passivity is the peak of femininity, and it will be rewarded handsomely with a reprieve from mistreatment, as You Have Succeeded At Your Gender Role.
This isn't to say there isn't value in validating that Cinderella's response, but ideally there is just as much a place for Danielle punching her wicked stepsister in the face and pulling a sword on a libertine nobleman, as much space for Vasilisa the Beautiful to consort with Baba Yaga and (knowingly or unknowingly, it's unclear) burn her wicked stepfamily alive with witchfire and win her place in court through her talent at weaving, as there is for Branagh's Cinderella to, with quiet dignity, use forgiveness as a means to release the hold her abusers have on her to move forward to the happy life she's always deserved. Because even in the latter case, again a continuation of Perreault and Disney, the focus isn't on Cinderella's Moral Womanly Correctness, but on what's good for her, what helps Ella heal, and what a happily ever after looks like for Ella.
And that's the important thing - not whether or not Cinderella waves a sword or bows her head, but that the focus is on her interiority and agency, and not assigning a higher moral value to her response to abuse as The Correct Response, whatever such a response may be.

the gang all just laying on each other on the floor bc all of them in some way had a bad day. they’re all cuddling each other and they end up falling asleep like that. also if tim walked in like he does in the movie he takes pictures and keeps some for him and then leaves.
Yes this is adorable! Everyone is over one day and kinda in a bad mood, maybe it was a long day, maybe there was a rumble, whatever, they all want to be in each other’s company more than anything else, so they’re just a puppy pile of bodies and long limbs, clinging to each other fast asleep once they can finally relax. Tim strolls in looking for a place to crash and at first is like smh now I can’t stay here, but he definitely does take pictures because at the end of the day, he thinks the Curtis gang are alright and admires the bond they have. Maybe he’ll use the pictures as blackmail for Dally, we can never know

Hey want an angsty thought?
Rusted knight Ruby seeing Weiss again and just telling her "you're as beautiful as the day I lost you"
Weiss: Stop being so... so you! You were lost down here for so long! *tearing up* and it's my fault.
Rusted Knight Ruby: *cupping her cheek* You're as beautiful as the day I lost you.

hi! okay—first off? the masterful way in which you’re able to invoke such thoughtful conversations with your storytelling is everything to me. every update of TFA feels like a character study of people we’ve all encountered at some point in our lives! it’s beautiful, really.
secondly! with that being said, i wanted to pick your brains a bit about indira! i don’t know if you’ve ever talked about this before, but regarding our girl’s preference for non-exclusive relationships—how much of it would you attribute to her personality, and how much could be considered a trauma response?
considering all that she’s been through, given her own experience with an overly (wrongfully) possessive man in her life that overstepped SEVERALLLL boundaries [+ having to witness the aftermath of what elijah…rip…did to hope] i just always got the vibe that those things collectively made her very wary of wanting a man to ever feel that comfortable with having a ‘claim’ to her. which is understandable! but the idea also makes me very sad for her; since so much of her current mindset towards dating seems like more of a trauma response than anything.
like yes! as a 21 year old myself, i get the idea of wanting to be free and wanting to date around! but is indira really dating? or is she just entertaining people to avoid looking deeper at a bigger problem/fear that she has, and isn’t willing to overcome at this current point in her life? both things are valid, but i just wanted to hear your take as the storyteller because indira is SUCH an interesting character to me, and i’d love to get a deep-dive on her mindset because i relate to…well…almost all of her story 😭 and i’ve found that my own take on dating has shifted drastically due to my experiences with men in the past. where indira is avoidant but still interested in pursuing SOME form of intimacy/companionship, i’ve staunchly sworn off sex and use dating apps as a means to test the waters to ‘see if i’m even ready to date’ … and i’m not. which almost always leads to me getting overstimulated and ghosting after a day or two of light conversation, lol. so this could easily just be me projecting! but either way, i’d love to hear your thoughts!)
Good morning friend! If we aren't taking a deep dive at the human condition, what are we even doing? lol I very much enjoy picking apart our behaviors and why we do the things that we do. Why not put these pixels in Situations™ and then pick it apart in the replies and asks and sometimes DMs?
About Indira...
She is her mother's child and her wanting to date with no strings attached is part of her personality. Indira is healthy, she's happy, she's wealthy and she's beautiful. Why can't it just be that she has no desire to be anything more than what she wants? If a man sleeps around, we don't question it most times. But as soon as we saw a grown, independent, emotionally stable Dira sleep with two men while telling them exactly what their role was, we decided she was foul and something must be 'wrong'.
I find that fascinating!
Why can't it just be that Indira is having fun and living life? Why can't it just be that she is young, carefree and likes big dicks and big wallets?
Having said that, we have yet to hear from Dira how the experience with Rahul and Ryker may have shaped her as an individual (not just who she sleeps with). We saw bits and pieces about how Elliot's demise impacted her and certainly it wasn't a positive impact. Luckily, Dr. Carter, the family therapist, took turns with each of the Drake children after The Tragedy on the Pier™. She didn't have to go through it alone and worked hard in theraphy to develop healthy boundaries and work through the trauma.
Needless to say, there is so much more to come with her. We've only caught glimpses because the story has gone in a few different directions since her debut in Tomarang as a brand new young adult. I do hope you stay tuned for what is to come!

what is (or are) your favorite terror ship(s)?
(pairings not the sailing vessels, tho if you have opinions on those i’d also be happy to hear them lol)
Ooh fun! :)
Slightly niche perhaps but one of my enduring favourites is actually Gore/Little.
I just really love the idea of Golden-Boy Man-of-Action Gore discovering that he rather likes being bossed around/dominated/treated like the pretty little princess he is.
And I'm equally enamoured with the notion of sweet Nedward finding that he enjoys getting to be powerful/assertive/just a bit of a sadistic wee bastard for once. ;)

Were there any moments from movie that genuinely surprised you in a good way?
oohh i'd love to answer this!
genuinely surprised at how much material from the book made it in. there are lines that are not in verbatim, but very similar that you can draw the connection
i always go into adaptations with a positive outlook. i can disconnect both entities because they are not the same. with that said, i wasn't thinking of the book on my first watch, so i was genuinely surprised when alex said the 'history, huh?' line out loud. and it worked perfectly. i loved that in the film, it's theirs only
the scene in alex's room after the state dinner. it's just such a great scene.
really, really loved how they edited the polo scene. alex and henry interspersed with the match and the quick pacing suited the vibe
how they edited the texts and the turkey call, just so creative
storming kensington scene. dont really need to say anything on it
goes without saying, but the moments of casual intimacy. give robbie taylor hunt an award!
ofc im gonna say paris. the sex scene, yes, but i actually love the lead up to it more. shy alex, the vulnerability, "rigid", just basking in the moment, what this moment meant for both of them
henry moments with his future father-in-law. didnt know i need those (also i loved clifton collins jr as oscar)
the moment on the stairs and 'ill break the sound barrier for you'. and baby! actually liked that theres only one 'baby,' it hits more that way
‘I’m learning’
‘can’t help falling in love,’ what a gorgeous cover and perfect song choice for the scene
alex giving henry his chain. love love this
the fluffiness and domesticity of that election night moment

Curious what you’d do with ”Did it ever occur to you that maybe we don’t want to see you get hurt?”
”Did it ever occur to you that maybe we don’t want to see you get hurt?”
If it's not the first thing he hears coming off anesthesia, it's the first thing that cuts through the fog, though Roy has a sneaking suspicion his sister's been at it for a while.
Roy wakes to lingering nausea, clammy shivers that prick against his skin, and his sister glaring at him from the foot of his bed.
It's weird, seeing Sarah out of scrubs; it's even weirder seeing her with a child held up against her hip. He's still not used to it.
From her perch, his niece watches him intently. Only age two and she's fucking huge, all her soft baby features spilling out into a toddler mould. The bigger she gets, the easier it gets to be to tell what she's thinking. Right now, she may as well be hiding her distress behind a pane of glass.
She waves at him. He waves back. Her arms tighten around her mum as she buries her face in her neck.
Roy's heart thump thump thumps on the monitor.
His hand falls back to the bed. Squinting against the light, he fights against the hot dampness building behind his eyes.
His throat croaks, "Is it bad?"
Sarah sighs. "As bad as the last one? No. But you can't keep tearing your knee up, or pretty soon you won't have a knee!"
She punctuates her statement with a thunderous frown; her eyebrows, similar to his own but just a tad neater, cut across her forehead like bushy lightning bolts.
Still under some sort of drugs, he shrugs off her concern and says, "Eh. I'll buy a new one."
Sarah's eyes narrow dangerously, but Phoebe giggles into her hiding spot. It's almost cheating, that - Phoebe's at the age where she thinks everything Roy says deserves a hearty round of laughter. Already she's wriggling and giggling, simply delighted that Roy's there to string together words, even if they aren't for her.
Can't understand him; thinks he hung the moon.
It tugs at his chest, threatening to unstuck the zipper and unravel him at the seams.
He stretches his arms out. "Can I hold her?"
Sarah thaws. In record time, and in spite of his callousness, he's being gifted a bundle of Phoebe. Curling up against his side, she flings her chubby little arm across his chest and digs her baby fingers into his shirt with an impressively strong grip. She's so big. She weighs nothing. She's so little. She fills up his entire world. Just having her near soothes the thing that lives agitated inside his chest.
She is no danger of accidently knocking his leg about, tiny as she is. As far as he's concerned, she can stay where she is for as long as she likes.
Sarah slides a chair closer to his bed. Sitting down on Phoebe's other side, she strokes her daughter's hair back. Roy gets the impression that she's doing it for herself too. Showing affection doesn't come naturally to either of them. Best to start as small as they come.
They're not that close, him and Sarah, but sometimes it feels like they might be one day.
After a while, Sarah breaks the silence.
"You can't scare her like that," Sarah says, in a tone more serious than he's ever heard from his baby sister -- she doesn't even need to curse to get her point across. Oh, she can swear like the worst of them, but she's better than that. She better than the brother who only knows football and fame and broken teeth. Better than someone who only knows the best ways to break themselves down and still be useful.
She's better than Roy and she's right.
The problem is Roy.
"I'll try," he says, as close to a promise as he can make. His card's already punched; all that's left is to stave off the inevitable for as long as he can until his debt finally gets called up. Until then-
"I'll try."

do you think unai is the type to get possessive quickly?
Hmm, that's a really good question. I think Unai gets aggressive (or forward?) with his affection very quickly, and his possessiveness comes with time, if that makes sense. He gets more possessive as a friendship or bond gets stronger/develops. If we're strictly talking about Unai/Pedri dynamics, we see that Unai is very forward with his affections towards Pedri! My evidence of this is The Grab, of course (where he turns, looks mad, sees it's Pedri, and then grabs and hugs him.) Other examples that come to mind are when he and Pedri reunite in Copa Del Ray and Unai is forward with hugging and grabbing Pedri, keeping an arm around him, etc. They've known each other for years, so I believe that's how Unai develops that affection towards Pedri. There's also this one clip of Unai being very rowdy with Gavi. I can't find it, but I recall him putting Gavi in a headlock and laughing and celebrating with the team. Possessiveness comes with time for him.
However, for Unai/Pedri dynamics, I think Pedri is immediately more possessive of Unai because Pedri appears quite possessive of everyone on the team, haha. Chasing Ferran around, bullying (affectionate) Gavi, even telling Olmo to come to Barca all feels very possessive to me.
I'd also use this picture as evidence to show a possessive/jealous Pedri:
Tumblr media
I mean look at his face. How dare you touch his goal keeper?
This is all just conjecture and my opinion though haha. Short answer (and one that appears in my writing of these two) is that Unai is possessive in the way that he realizes he has something to lose, and Pedri is possessive in the way that he realizes he wants to keep something close. If that makes sense. Thanks for the ask. 🍃

Hiii awful question but what's Franco's opinion on getting pegged? Into it or a hard no for him?
I am SO glad you asked this, because I will be addressing this in my fic at some point!
In my opinion, he reacts to this in a similar way that many people would react to his baby fetish. This comes up when Franco alludes to anal play with Rox, which she is into, but extremely shy about. She makes the suggestion of returning the favor, and pegging gets brought up.
He has literally never thought of this happening outside of a homosexual relationship and is honestly terrified, but also insanely aroused by the idea despite himself. It isn’t until later that he brings it up with Rox that he would want her to do this to him.

Fic title: The Jabberwock, My Son :DDDDD
I may make an actual ficlet out of this after I've had my coffee. for this game (which has been so much fun to watch/participate in!!!)
Mulder takes William fishing when he's about 5. He catches a crawdad by mistake, and as they're removing it from his line, it pinches his finger. He starts to cry, and Mulder comforts him by talking about/reciting the Jabberwocky poem as he cleans the (tiny) cut and puts a bandaid on it. Later, they come home with a few (tiny) fish for dinner, Willaim proclaiming it a "frabjous day, callooh calay!" And the momeraths outgrabe.
