thinking about yelena teaching bob russian. he’d be a perfectionist about it because he really wants to hold conversation with her in russian. he wants to feel like they have their own secret language.

one day alexei catches him saying something over and over in russian as he’s doing the dishes, he vaguely makes out that he’s trying to say he wants to go out and has to stop the protective papa bear in him from going crazy when he realises bob is rehearsing how to ask yelena out in russian.

there's something so incredibly sweet about how many times davrin notes in his journal that talking to rook helped him with something. he keeps bringing them out to touch grass and gaze at nugs out in the woods with him which I think must be very good for them, and their company clearly helps him work through and get more clarity on things he's been stuck on emotionally. it's just kind of lovely and a great little nuance in that relationship.

if ONLY because i was at work yesterday out in the play yard and one of the babies from the one year old room walked up to me, held up her arms and went "up. up" and i caved like a wet fucken nOODLE and im inflicting that onto Bruce

so im just picturing like, roughly 18mo Danny, just absolutely teeny, walking up to Bruce in the Batman suit, grabbing his cape and pulling on it to get his attention or plastering himself to the side of his legs (<- real experience i've had) and when Bruce looks down at him Danny just goes "Bah-man, bah-man. Up."

and im teLLING YOU. Bruce would cave in a fucking heartbeat.

or if he crouches down, Danny will just crawl onto him anyways. wraps both arms around his neck and tries to raise his leg over his knee so he can wrap himself around his waist (<- ALSO A REAL EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD)

also he can't fully articulate himself yet, he doesn't have all of his teeth quite yet and phonetics are harD, so he can't say Bruce it just sounds like "boo" or "booce" like 'boost' but without the 't'.

anyways shadow milk cookie shows his affection in the form of biting, licking and smelling you

half of it is because he knows it bothers you when he randomly shows up and, when you think he's about to be sweet and give you a peck on the cheek, he jukes you with a gross, wet, obnoxious lick. he lives for chaos, for pranks (that are mostly harmless when you're on the receiving end), and he never gets tired of seeing your face contort in a mix of embarrassment and frustration.

the other half is because he just can't let himself be so emotionally vulnerable and genuine and just... kiss you. deep down he's nervous, scared that even if he bears himself wholly to you, you're just going to up and leave him

—but it just makes the intimate moment when he finally kisses you properly, tenderly—even sweeter
