well, I can't say I expected the new chapter to feature Idia (metaphorically) going to (metaphorical) hell, getting a pep talk from his (metaphorical) Phantom brother which helps him finally move on once and for all from his brother's death, and (metaphorically) overblotting again to fight his way back out of (metaphorical) hell, only to have his darkest fear (non-metaphorically) come true when his mom goes through his computer and finds all his secret files. but I am glad it did!

also this is all a flashback for the purpose of explaining to our group what the heck is going on (whether or not any of it is getting through is another matter)

I love how Keith refuses to give up on Shiro! I love how refuses to accept that Shiro is gone and that for him Shiro is the Black Paladin. I hate how the others doesn't seem to care about Shiro being gone and only care about forming Voltron again. People honestly didn't care enough about of the best characters ever created. I miss him so much.

Once the leader of a band of thieves, a botched job led to Rev being (literally) backstabbed and left for dead. Instead of dying, however, Rev awoke — alive in spirit, though not in body. This strange state of undeath drew the attention of the Goddess of Death. Instead of destroying the abomination, the Goddess sought to make a deal: power to enact the vengeance Rev so desired, in exchange for his fealty. Rev, with nothing else to lose, accepted.

Its true what you said that hima have a limit to his joke now days. Tbh I miss his gay jokes. The editor sure wanna play safe since you can get cancel for just breathing this day. I wonder if that is truly the reason. Though I can't help but wonder, if they planned to be so restrictive on what can or cannot be in Hetalia, then why hire Himaruya in the first place? As "controversial" as Hetalia might be, I doubt no one but Shonen Jump would be eager to host a manga with a solid fanbase that has been running for the past 15-something years. I genuinely wonder how he ended up in Shonen Jump, all I know is that Gentosha's Comic Birz (where Hetalia was hosted) was cancelled in 2018 (circa 4 years after Hima moved to Shonen Jump) ... Back in the day I heard a rumor that he left Gentosha due to some conflict over copyright and intellectual property terms, but it was like, 2012-2013 and this is likely fake, it's just something I heard back then.

I just wish I didn't feel like he's holding back. As someone said in the tags of a post I reblogged recently (the one about micronations), if this keeps going on Hima might end up experiencing a burn out (if he hasn't already) and I'd feel truly sorry for him. He's the kind of person who truly gets passionate about his own work and characters, for how problematic some parts of early Hetalia were, you could see back when he was active on his personal blog that he put his entire heart in these characters, his blog oozes with that love and passion and it's so contagious that I can't help but believe it is partially what made so many people attracted to Hetalia in the first place. Hima had/has such a passionate attitude over the world he created like he's Hetalia's No.1 Fan even before being its creator.

The way he no longer updates his personal blog, the way HWS feels like Hetalia is often being held on a leash ... It frustrates me. Not even just as a fan, I genuinely feel bad for Himaruya. I feel hurt as a fellow artist who admires him and his positive, joyful attitude towards his own creations.

people dont write wheatley mean enough, ive decided. like, he's an asshole. that's a huge part of his character. YES he is also pathetic and a fucking loser who i could drop kick.

he's mean and self-centered and uncaring because that is how he has always been treated.

he frequently calls you brain dead, he throws out the idea of turning you in to GLaDOS' so he can live, he spends a full minute insulting children and calling manual laborers stupid - because that's how he's been treated. he was made to be stupid, he was abandoned by his creators because they didn't care, and then he's insulted time and time again by being called a moron when, if you actually look at the game from his perspective, he's the one who's did all the work!!

he has been kicked, insulted, almost killed and ignored his entire life no SHIT he's more than happy to turn those exact same actions onto other people without any sort of care for their feelings. no one's ever cared for his?? so why should he??

people either have him as a stammering uwu little baby who's either completely helpless or a creep or they make him super over confident when he's neither. yes, he stutters and yes there are times he's embarrassed but that's because he overthinks and has a hard time putting things into words. he is fucking terrifying, yes, but it's not because he's confident. it's because he's willing to do anything just to prove he can.

wheatley is so mischaracterized it hurts and it makes me so upset. this game has been out for ten years and i need my guy to be seen as the actual nuanced character he is.
