Idk if you read the whole thing but what he said was a shit take for someone he calls a friend. He basically said how he would never change and then his team don't try to change him, which okay fair, but then he goes on saying 'unlike other driver like George who let their new team change them and make them less fun.'

Then he said it would be better if people could see the old him, that he would be more popular 🙄 if he was the old George. Like George already has fans turning on him for being at Merc and PR63 kinds of jokes about him being fake, he doesn't need a friend to basically traah talk him in a magazine because he's doing better than at Williams. Lando talks a lot about his struggles with fame and stuff but then turns around and does this... like why..

Also merc fans can multi task, we can care about both drivers and the shit show that is this sport.

i mean i wouldnt even call myself a fan of lando? i dont really have anything against him i just dont think about him unless its a team thing so before you say anything im not biased at all. infact i probably prefer george? the thing is these are two drivers i dont think too much about in the first place.

i mean idk? listen im not a mercedes driver and im not a mclaren driver, im not in the positions they're in. maybe thats just the way the teams work, i mean it makes sense.

mclaren are more chilled, obviously still focused on winning or getting good points but their naturally going to be more chilled out.

mercedes is a massive team, most probably more pr stuff more media coverage, and with them used to being at the front, paired with the issues they’ve been having, theres probably a much more serious approach? Mercedes are really knuckling down at the moment so its no surprise to anyone that their drivers are maybe affected by that. Lando’s never had much of a way with words so i guess he’s just trying to get that across.

i will agree with you on his popularity comment, it certainly wasn’t necessary, it isnt a popularity game, especially from a drivers point of view as well, the aim is to win and drive well, not to see how funny you can be. Like i said i think lando can be a bit like that sometimes with his words and sometimes i feel like he can be a bit, idk, cocky? i cant think of the right word but im sure you’re aware that sometimes he can be a bit like that, i dont wanna say sometimes he thinks hes gods gift necessarily because i dont think its to that extent but its one of the reasons why i dont really like him as much as other drivers.

i feel like, i mean ill give him the benefit of the doubt, stuff like this happens all the time with the media, i highly doubt there was any bad intent there, the first part i get, the second part was a bit pissy of him to say but im sure it was in a jokey way like something you would say to your mate like “ohh maybe if you didn’t have your nose stuck in a book we’d be having more fun and you’d be a bit more popular” kinda thing yknow? but it doesnt really justified the comment. it was a stupid thing to say

i do totally get where you’re coming from, i really didnt like lando for a while over the no sympathy for daniel comment he made last year but at the same time lando and daniel are good friends now, im sure he didn’t want to intentionally upset daniel as im sure he doesn’t want to intentionally upset george

i think at this point maybe just accept lando really doesnt have a way with words, maybe i just think that and brush it off bcuz i dont tend to think about him but yeah.

“Right, ok we’re officially live!“ Exclaims Anthony as he waves to one of the cameras - the one turned to him - and leans closer to the mic placed on the table in front of him. “Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in today. I’m here with the internet sensation and mystery known as Corpse Husband.“ He turns away from the camera to look across the table at his guest, “Corpse, I hope you know how much effort is being put into editing that sticker over your face for the duration of this whole podcast.“

Corpse, whose face is hidden by a sticker of his avatar, chuckles, “So you’re insinuating that I should probably not move so much.”

“Exactly.“ Anthony laughs, “My guy would be very grateful for that curtesy. Yeah, I have an actual person who I assigned to move around the sticker so there goes an extra paycheck.“

“In that case I promise to give you worthy content. A lot of never previously heard scoop.“ Corpse says, mocking the very words he uses, laughing about them afterwards, “Ask away, man.“

Anthony briefly looks down at a printed sheet of paper before pushing it to the side with a slight furrow of his brows, “You know, these are all cookie-cutter questions you’ve probably been asked many times before. So, I think it’s for the best I ask you something no one has had you talk about. Or something I hope no one has had you talk about yet. If you feel uncomfortable with any question just say so and we’ll skip it right away.“

The sticker moves up and down to mask Corpse’s face as he nods, “Got it.”

“Ok um...“ Anthony falls in thought for a moment, thinking of a question, “The first thing off the top of my head, um, what part of the dark side of fame have you had the displeasure of experiencing?“

Corpse lets out a laugh dangerously close to a scoff, “Almost all if not totally all of it really. There’s such a big chunk of privacy being taken away from you on social media. I got to that point where I felt so naked and seen I felt I was losing myself as my fandom grew. I know it’s many YouTubers’ dream to blow up and have a ton of fans and followers but I never wanted that. Don’t get me wrong, I love each and every one of my fans, I just never expected to accumulate so many of them. I’m such a private person, it was so anxiety inducing in the beginning but I sort of learned how to cope with it, you know? Sometimes, in order to stop people from reaching into my real privacy, I created a fake one that I’d feed into and let them enjoy.”

Anthony’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise, “Wow, how do we know what’s real about you anymore, huh?” It was said more as a joke but he truly meant it. If a person can fake a whole reality for people not to touch into their real one, Lord knows what else they can do.

Corpse huffs, “I’ll give you a hint: If it seems pretty, pink, peach and perfect it’s fake.“ The sticker may be hiding his face from the viewers but it’s most definitely not doing anything to shield the change in expression that occurs on his face from Anthony who’s sitting right across from him and notices the shift right away but before he could question it, Corpse prods on, “Y/N, my partner, can tell you just as much. They know better than anyone what’s the difference between what people know and what the reality is. They know that our relationship isn’t the sunny skies we put on display for our fans. I have my mental and physical health issues, my trust issues and paranoia play a big role in the ‘rains’ in our day-to-day life but they understand it’s all a part of me and a part I can’t control. It actually controls me sometimes and it’s so fucking annoying. But they understand. And while we pretend it’s perfect even though it isn’t, we find our happiness wherever and whenever we can. When it rains so often, you might as well look for a little hint of sunlight. That sunlight can create a rainbow after all. Believe me when I say, that rainbow is the most beautiful thing, makes you forget about the storm that just took place or might even be still raging all around.“ He sighs, preparing to bring his outpour of honesty to a close, “It may be a bumpy road 98% of the time even though on social media we pretend it’s the complete opposite, but that 2% of honest happiness we get from the tiniest of things are more meaningful than I could describe to you with words.“

And he’s more than right, words are often not enough. But the ones he used to describe what he just did were perfectly enough to bring one particular viewer to tears. That particular viewer who knows exactly what he was talking about. Because they are his other half and they’re going through it the same as he is. They’ve gone down that bumpy road side by side with him, ignoring the pain and turmoil while focusing their gaze on the rainbow above. That analogy was theirs from the very start after all. They both knew Y/N is the better one at finding the deeper meaning in everything even when there was nothing to be found.

They always found something. And Corpse will always cherish that trait as one of their best - always finding something to keep them both afloat.

summary:  in which you and dabi get sent on your own little mission, his wariness of you leads to the threat of death and abuse of his own power, hurt and distressed of when the end point of this will be, bakugo is the last person you expected to bring comfort to you

The days had been rough after the burning of the town, it had been everywhere. News reports scattered across the country and worst of all, both you and Toga had been spotted by witnesses. You had stayed in your room only coming out when needed but the feeling of guilt had rested around you. Even Bakugo had been quiet with you a shock from the loud mouth you had as a partner a mere week ago, but you knew if he had seen the scene, he would refuse to even look at you.

At night he would stick to his side not even asking to talk, it was silent between the two of you and after holding hands whilst watching the burning sky. Everything was eerie and a surrounding of hatred had come from everybody, it was as if the whole front were bipolar able to easily turn from one another.

You went to the meeting that Toga had told you about in the morning, your hero costume on and your mentality deteriorating but what else could you do. Sitting beside Bakugo who made no sound to acknowledge your presence Mr Compress was the first to speak.

“How are you?” He asked softly.

He almost seemed human, almost, “I’m okay.”

You smile out before Tomura spoke a loud, “Dabi and Y/n, you both need to get these things.”

He shoves the piece of paper into Dabi’s fingers, he looked a lot like his younger brother, and you knew if Endeavor wasn’t such a piece of shit at being a father. You and Dabi could’ve been friends, hell you both might even worked together but the look of disgust he had at the sound of going with you. You knew he was a villain at heart.

“Hurry up.” Dabi mutters walking out the door. You don’t say anything instead following timidly, the silence of your footsteps as you caught up to the boy with his now white hair.

You didn’t try to make conversation, too tired and too guilty too, instead you stayed in your thoughts, mindlessly following the man. “Put this on.” He chucks a hoodie at you; you didn’t speak obliging.

Before he himself put on a jacket that had a hood to cover his face, “I could just make them think we’re not there.” You mutter.

He looks back at you, grabbing the door handle whilst eyeing you up and down. “I don’t trust you.”

The simple words had too much meaning in them, you gave a soft sign before following him into the dark night, even with it being late afternoon, the sun was setting, and a warm hue of red littered the sky. It wasn’t more suffocating, but you didn’t care as you followed the man out of the alleyway.

“You look too suspicious.” He mutters at how wide of a gap there was between the two of you. He grabs your wrist before eloping his fingers between your own. It felt gross and wrong and you hated it, you gave a soft smile at the man, you could almost feel the staples that rode across his wrist, but you chose to ignore it.

You both walked along acting happily as he pointed out stuff but didn’t speak, it was an act that you wanted over and done with. “Stay here.” He mutters pushing you onto a bench.

“Wh…” You had looked up to meet his eye but instead.

He interrupts you moving his palm to your mouth, “Y/n, stay the fuck here.”

You knew in any situation you would’ve fought back but the lack of sleep and restlessness you had made you obey him. It wasn’t like he was being a dick 24/7, it was the lack of trust you both had with one another. You saw the two police men standing and talking to one of the ladies at the bakery a couple shops over.

It looked to be flirting and you were too lazy to hear the gossip, instead tightening the thread in the hoodie to make it encase your full head. You looked naked from bottom down wearing it, your thigh high boots covering you but you knew people were staring and you hated it.

You watched as he walked towards a convenience store, before hearing the shouts come from inside. He was not seriously stealing from a shop, was the petty crime what he really wanted to do. You watched him run out with a bag full of money and on cue the police that had been just a mere shops away spotted him.

The shop keeper ran out, phone in hand shouting about the robbery. Everybody’s eyes planted on Dabi and you could almost feel his smirk. Was this a test? You watched as Dabi ran and the police followed, it was too stupid of a thing to have done. It must be something to do with you, you felt something in the hoodie pocket as you stood up about to follow.

Unwrapping the folded paper you see the two words that made everything you said true, ‘Ruin her.’

You scoffed shoving the paper before running yourself, you used your quirk to lift yourself from the ground, moving the air beneath your fingers to make you more agile, before you caught up with Dabi and the police. He had been trapped in an alley and you knew that he could’ve easily escaped, his quirk would’ve made it easier.

Landing behind the three of them, the two police turned around as Dabi smirked the blue flashing from his fingertips. One eyed you up and down and you gave a disgusted face, “Ma’am this hasn’t got anything to do with you, leave.” One of the men said about to usher you away, his hand was moving to your shoulder and you wanted to kill him for it.

“Don’t fucking touch me.” You whisper bringing your fingers up and in an instant both the police flew into the buildings, “really, ruin her.”

You repeated the words, Dabi almost impressed but you knew it was fake, knew he was putting it on because he didn’t care either way. “Not my issue.”

The hold you hand on the men, almost suffocating them with how you moved the air out of their throats, “You’ll kill them y’know.” Dabi had moved behind you the money in hand, his lips brushed against your ear and the hatred you had for them all filled you up.

“Do you think I care?” You retort back, he puts his hands up.

“You better kill them quickly, I hear sirens.” He speaks walking out of the alleyway.

You couldn’t bring yourself to kill them, you couldn’t ruin another person’s life, you bashed there heads into the concrete before running out yourself. You saw Dabi walk into another alleyway and you were frustrated, you had been tormented with the murder and the front they felt nothing after each murder they committed.

You grabbed his arm making him stop, he cocked an eyebrow looking down at your much shorter frame. “What? Couldn’t kill them? Why am I not surprised, you’ll always be a little hero bitch.”

The words were filled with disgust, “I’m not.” You tried to defend yourself, tried to make it seem like you were on their side. But how could you when you felt so much emotion from the previous couple days killing.

“Are you not?” He grabs your wrist, pushing you onto the wall, his body encased your own. It felt disgusting, the way his other hands fingers rubbed against your cheek. You could almost feel the evil absorb into your face.

His hot breath fanned your face, and the proximity would be a moment for couples, but his hand gripping your wrist became tighter as he taunted you. “Y/n, you’ll never be one of us, even Bakugo has what it takes to be evil, and he’s been indoctrinated a lot more than you have.”

“I can do it.” You whisper but the feeling of soreness that erupted from your wrist made you re-think everything.

“Can you, really, I remember you from those years ago, and you were worthless back then and now you’ve somehow become even more worthless, god, how I wish I killed you back then?” He laughed it out, you wanted to use your quirk, you did but the use of your bounded hands between his hands made you stop. What good was using something when he was taunting you, he wouldn’t kill you. He wouldn’t.

“You were a little thing back then, vulnerable and innocent, I should’ve painted the forest red with you.” He seethed out before you felt his quirk on your wrist, the burning sensation making your skin become darker.

You screamed, your quirk activating as you made him stop using your mind. “You fucking bitch.” He grabs a hold of your jaw, clearly having been in his head made him even more angry, holding your jaw as tight as he could. You felt every anger and emotion he felt towards you in the mere seconds you were in his head.

“I’ll…” You couldn’t breath with how his other hand had moved to strangle you.

“It’s a waste of time.” He muttered, letting you go, the blood that had rushed to your head had made you infuriated, you had gotten over the murder and moved onto something more. Your hatred of the man, the way you wanted to carve out his name on his chest, gouge his eyes out and hear him scream filled your thoughts. You were foul enemies, and, in that moment, you realised what it meant to be evil and you were feeling it all.

You caught your breath, ignoring the man who had walked into the building where the front was. Looking down at your right-hand wrist, you saw the marks of fire around it, if he had done it for any longer, you’d have nothing, but bone left. Instead the blood gushing from it had made a layer of skin peel off, you didn’t even know how your throat and jaw looked but you didn’t care.

The thoughts of murdering them all at night filled you and you knew that if you were truly a villain at heart, you’d have done it in an instance. It took a couple minutes before you entered the building, seeing Toga playing a game and Bakugo with a drink in his hand there was no sight of Tomura who you assumed had gone on another late-night meeting.

He had gone out every night, but nobody had questioned it and whenever you went inside his head, it was nothing, he never even thought about the meeting. Not even a single name filled his head, it was an abyss of nothing. Bakugo noticed you and as you took the hoodie off with your left hand, he saw the blood and purple bruises around your throat.

“Y/n.” He whispers instantly standing up, he grabbed your arm seeing the seething blood flow out, your other arm having had the stab wound and the purple marks around your neck. He hated seeing you like this, so vulnerable but your eyes, your eyes were filled with joy. He would kill Dabi, already knowing it was him, he wanted to kill him, make him feel the pain you felt but as he looked up he saw something he didn’t expect.

You were almost smiling; he didn’t ask only taking the first aid kid and you into your shared room. He sat you down, bringing some ice to your neck. “Stop smiling, cry at least.”

“Why? I could’ve killed two more people today.” You smiled out; it was almost as if it wasn’t for sure.

“You didn’t though.” He grabs the bandages as he watched you laugh at your own thoughts.

You began to blabber on, “who knows when this will end, hell, let’s stay like this forever.”

He looked in utter horror at you, “Y/n, what the fuck is wrong with you?” Before you can speak, he continues, “don’t fucking say shit like that, be emotional, be the girl I know you as.”

The words brought comfort to you and in an instant the tears welded out your eyes, “Dabi did this.” He nods already knowing, “I hate it here.” You whisper, he brings your knuckles in his arm, your freshly wrapped wrist encased perfectly within the bandages.

He holds onto your hand, letting you speak your emotions, letting you cry and letting you weep. “I don’t want to die here.”

“I know Y/n, I wont let that happen to you, hell if you’re on the brink of death I’ll take your spot.” He speaks softly, it was a kindness unknown to you from Bakugo. But you took it all, “I should’ve talked to you after the fire, but I had to think, I saw the news the next day and the death count…”

He doesn’t continue, you bring your palm to his cheek, a tear from his own eye. You both had sworn to protect the people and here you were killing them for something that had less than a 40% chance of being successful. He nuzzled his cheek into your palm, before bringing your hand to his mouth, he left an open mouth kiss on your knuckles as you both stayed in silence. Relishing in the comfort that the two of you brought and knowing that the unlikelihood of you two getting out of this place alive. Was slim at best.

The only ending everyone seems to ignore is v3 because it’s just... it’s just a mess.

How do feel about this game survivors? And do you think that everyone woke up from the simulator or tv show like sdr2 or only the survivors?

Honestly nonny, having only finished the dang thing yesterday I... don't know.

(I kinda went off into a spiel, so feel free to skip to the part where I talk about survivors and what I think happens next)

I understand the mixed response a LOT. I mean- I see what they were going for. The 4th wall break was cool, and the (sorta?) reappearance of past characters was pretty damn awesome. I like that the creators are definitely self aware- and there's a kind of 'learn to laugh at yourself' sort of thing.

On the other hand it can almost seem a little too mocking?

I get the whole yaknow. 'Fictional characters are aware they're fictional and rebel against their creators' thing but- like-?

As I mentioned before, thing is, Tsumugi is not us? We aren't exactly intentionally cruel? There's a BIG difference between the kind of fiction in our world and in their world.

What does Tsumugi call it? "Real fiction"?. Yeah- thing is- we don't have that. We don't have the technology for it, and I certainly hope we wouldn't abandon ethics for it either!!! We can't have 'real' fiction, because in our world, all fiction is fake! The closest you have is fiction about real people, perhaps, but- that's not even remotely the same thing?

So it does come across as a little... um- preachy.

We're supposed to represent the audience but... like- the audience fucking suck! What was that they said during the argument armament? "This guy should have died instead of Kaede!" Like- fucking hell. Imagine saying that to someone, who can HEAR you say it, and who's MURDER you could potentially watch unfold before your very eyes as a result of YOUR actions. I mean- look how empathetic some of us are to ACTUAL fictional characters. Could you imagine if we were in a similar situation to the outside world in V3???

Maybe it's because I keep imagining the v3 cast as like- sentient AI, instead of "just fiction". Because I can't imagine anyone being so sadistic or apathetic otherwise.

So uh- yeah. I don't... know how I feel about that. It's not- very satisfying?

With sdr2, the whole "none of this is real, the killing game is all a lie, you're in a fake world!" felt like a relief ! Whereas here it's more like- "what?? It's all fake? What the hell was the point then?!"

"Nothing matters!" vs "nothing matters..."

The whole HOPE VS DESPAIR, FUTURE VS PAST thing worked, because, well, it's something we can all understand. We have all felt hope and we have all felt despair. We've all, at some point in our lives, felt stuck in the past, unable to or scared to move on.

(Hey- some of us still feel like that now, even).

The first game was very simple- hope and despair. Still relatable, but fairly basic- effective to set up the foundation for the follow up.

The second game made things a little more complicated. Sometimes it's more complicated then just- choosing between Hope and Despair. We refuse to fall into Despair, but we can't just blindly have Hope.

So we choose the Future. We can't promise it'll be a good one OR a bad one. But whatever happens- we need to move on. The only way we can make things change is by making that choice, to create our OWN future.

V3 felt very... complex. It started to get kind of... uh... philosophical? And- don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with that. It just... it kind of shifted from TRUTH VS LIE to FICTION VS REALITY. And whilst the latter definitely sounds interesting- I don't really know if I liked the direction they took with it-? I wish they'd kept the focus on TRUTH VS LIE a lot more.

(Fiction and Reality are like extensions of Lie and Truth but- only to a certain extent? Really?)

It's kind of harder to get into the final fight in V3 because... what are you fighting? The outside world? I mean- I can't speak for the rest of you, but as far as I'm aware I'm not a fictional character.

(If I am- then wow someone's a reallly bad writer huh?)

I can relate to Hope. I can relate to Future.

I can't relate to Fiction.

I THOUGHT maybe the message was a warning of the dangers of escapism ('please dont go as far as to erase your own personality just to be a part of a type of fiction you like' definitely seems fitting for this fandom)- but the message "fiction has the power to change the world!" kinda contradicts that. I mean- I do like that message, but- I don't like the idea of a series about killing games being heavily influential-!

The whole problem was that people grew so obsessed with the series that they threw away their lives! Is that not the point you should be focusing on-!!!!

The outside world in this universe fucking sucks. So they changed their mind, big DEAL! that's not comforting knowing they let this shit continue for 53 seasons-! I mean, maybe Makoto and Hajime were all 100% fictional, but at some point they started putting real people into these games, and everyone was ok with that!

I'm glad Shuichi got through to them at last but...

Someone said something which resonated with me- "in a vacuum, this is good". Like... on it's own, I thought the ending was great! It was entertaining, for sure. And the whole concept and stuff was unexpected and interesting. You gotta give em points for originality.

The problem comes with it being the 3rd game in a series. (Ignoring UDG I mean-). When a series becomes a Trilogy, you gotta make it good. This is presumably the last game in the (main) series too. And- after the UTTER NARRATIVE DISAPPOINTMENT of dr3- can you blame people for wanting more? People fell in love for THH and SDR2 (and UDG even if its not part of the main series) for a reason- and, for me at least, a biiiig part of that reason was the continued storyline. The last chapter of sdr2 was the hypest shit EVER. when you see glimpses of the previous game bleed into this one, only for it to turn into what's like- a full crossover???? The previous game isn't just mentioned, it's a straight up sequel!!!! I had absolutely no idea Makoto and co would return (i thought the games were separate) so when i saw that they'd be interacting with the new cast- yoooooooooooooooo-!

Hell, even seeing alter ego again made me go WILD.

V3 plays upon these expectations, and subverts them, but... not necessarily in a good way? You- kind of feel cheated? (Idk if you're an avengers fan, but- it's like expecting *Endgame* and instead getting...

Well- Endgame).

The ending isn't bad persay it's just- not quite what one would expect? I can definitely understand why people are disappointed. The problem is, instead of standing alone, you can't help but consider it as part of the series. Individually, I don't think the ending was that weak or bad, but in comparison to the series as a whole?

Maki- I liked Maki quite a bit! She's a bit cold, yeah, but I warmed up to her after hearing her backstory.

I found it annoying (if understandable) that no one trusted her at first. I thought it was sweet that her, Kaito and Shuichi had this friendship trio. They really trusted each other- it was very refreshing. I also love me a strong girl. Her romance thing with Kaito was a little... forced. I'd have found it more meaningful if they kept it more subtle/ambiguous (though i suppose they needed smth to use against her in the final trial sooo-).

Himiko comes across as like An Actual Child at times and at the start it was VERY annoying. Surprisingly, I warmed up to her eventually. I knew in advance she'd be a survivor so i kinda thought "well she's gonna stick around so might as well try to like her". I do appreciate that she underwent a character arc too, and it was sweet to see how she became a more active, determined person. I wish it hadn't taken Tenko's death for her to finally start changing but whatever. She is quite a cute character and after a while became more endearing then annoying.... (for the most part).

Was she in my top 3 picks for a survivor? No.

Tsumugi- ah. She's not a survivor, is she? I knew well in advance she was the mastermind so I didn't really warm up to her all that much during the final chapters, for obvious reasons.

Shuichi- if shuichi hadn't survived I think that would have been the breaking point for me, honestly.

Overall- uh... they aren't... the ideal picks. Shuichi is the only one I really wanted to see survive, I was neutral towards the others. Tbh I was just happy anyone was alive by the end of that.

Waking up- for the sake of my sanity, I like to think that after the survivors wake up, they threaten to sue and/or maim the shit out of the dr team if they don't start on reanimating their 'dead' friends right fucking now. Surely they gotta keep their consciousness' somewhere in those memories banks right? I mean- what if they ever wanted a "surprise return from the dead" plotline? Surely they gotta keep em somewhere? Right?

Whether or not they reawaken as their in-game or pre-game selves, who knows. Whichever you prefer, I guess. Maybe a mixture of both.

[起承] Chris’ Mini Concert in Taipei 20191222 - Summary

As promised, the concert summary!! 

First, let’s look at this gorgeous background and what Chris wore in his first song - Totally magical my god and GALAXY THEMED!!! Okay it was actually purple themed because he likes the colour and a lot of fans actually turned up in purple things. 

Being the dumbass that I was, I did not do that because I didn’t even THINK OF IT HONESTLY so in my haste i had to go buy some purple cap that is really cute (unicorn-themed!) and yes turned up for the concert.

I went with a lovely new friend this time along with two other friends (all of who I met on Tumblr!!) and when we first reached the venue, there were so many other fans there already as usual giving out freebies - I have completed a set of five plastic fans with Chris and Jake faces printed on it, and now I have three plastic sheet 2020 calendars with Chris’ lovely face on it so amen. A lanyard also, and ooooh like they printed fake passenger tickets with chris’ face on it HAHA

Venue/Seating: 20 Rows, 20 Seats, 10 on each side with a row cutting down the middle and then a stage - In terms of venue I think it was a pretty cozy venue, definitely smaller than the venue for the Trapped Taipei and Taichung fanmeets so everyone got a much better view. This is the venue they used for the first History Party

I was seated in the 4th row, which was farkinggggg close. Ann and Elle were seated in the 2nd row, and we were technically all in the same area - BEST

So after we were seated, suddenly there was a lot of commotion from the fans, and that’s when we realised that ANDY AND KENNY WALKED IN!!! They came in with caps and face masks on, and they sat themselves in the first row on the right section - I’d like to mention that seated in the same row were also Chris’ parents, his brother (real or like bro I haven’t figured out yet), Diane and Director Lee from Trapped (ahhhh Diane is farking pretty) and yes, Jake was not there, BUT BUT BUT I do believe he was invited, but he’s just busy with work. Jake and Zhang Guang Chen (the guy who plays Andy in Trapped) both liked Chris’ concert photo on Instagram!!

Photos weren’t allowed, and they were damn fucking strict about this which I honestly DONT UNDERSTAND but am not surprised at - It’s like he’s thanking his fans for turning up and he’s really touched and everything and all fans want to do is have some really nice photos of him you know CRIES IN A CORNER - So it was like the Trapped fanmeet media mafia again, people standing at the sides watching and making sure you dont take photos

BUT BUT BUT in the first two songs they couldn’t control us all because we were ALL taking photos, which is why I have photos from the first two songs but NOWHERE ELSE, but tbh the first song’s visuals were so beautiful that those were all I needed for photos, seriously - Which is nice because I rented a cam for this and I REALLY WOULD HAVE CRIED IF I WALKED AWAY WITH NO PHOTOS

He sang a few Chinese ballads, and then he went to change clothes, and THEN HE TURNED UP IN THIS SHIRT AND DANCED TO THE WEEKND’S CAN’T FEEL MY FACE

At the beginning of the concert he told everyone that he wasn’t going to cry and we all called bullshit on that and hahaha lo and behold he cried halfway through and then at the end A LOT

Xiao Yi hosted it again!!! My god, I love Xiao Yi so much, he’s honestly the best and he’s way more handsome in person than he is on Instagram HAHAHA and I love how close he is to the Trapped boys

I do have more photos of this but they’re all half blur because I was trying to dodge the photo police, but hip thrusting moves? Check. Skin reveal? Four holes in his shirt, CHECK.

Anyway, the entire show was filled with like crazy good dance numbers and Chris sang songs such as A Whole New World, and also two of his self-composed songs!! I can’t remember what the first song was called but he did sing this at the Taichung fanmeet, and the second song is called 「不想分開」which means ‘Don’t Want To Separate From/Leave Each Other’ and they’re pretty good 

Chris said that HE MIGHT have some album/single release activity next year and asked us to look forward to Jan 2020 I don’t know what to expect tbh HAHAHAHA

And Chris also sang Della’s song from Trapped - and halfway through the song DELLA APPEARED AND STARTED SINGING WITH HIM!! And he was so touched that he started to cry (as always, the crybaby), then the audience and Xiao Yi got Della and Chris to duet one of Della’s other more popular songs, and then SHE WAS THE BEST BECAUSE SHE led Chris down the stage and into the crowd and got him to touch everyone’s hands (okay not everyone, but whoever who could reach him) - Unfortunately I was literally two arms length away from him, so I didn’t even try reaching out for him but as always he came real close, and I got to witness that face up close for the fifth time this year, thank you god and all the higher powers above and buddha for giving me this excellent year

And everytime Xiao Yi and Chris asked questions to the audience Kenny would be like this absolute fanboy yelling from his seat - Gotta love the friendship between them

Xiao Yi printed like photos of him and Chris and stuck it on chocolate bars and gave them out to the audience for like question and answer LMAOOOO funniest shit ever - So XY asked how much do we love Chris, and the first fan was like ‘I left my kid at home to come and watch Chris’ and then another one was like ‘I came here on a TOUR and now I have left my tour group secretly for a few hours so I can come attend this’ LMAOOOO

And CHRIS’ attire was fucking on point that day, all his outfits were like fucking A+++++++++ like sexy and handsome and WOOOHOOO

Okay and now storytime - The one SHITTY thing that happened during the concert:

So there was this older lady seated in the first row, and in the beginning she kept getting up to talk to the staff and I didn’t think much of it - You know maybe she’s a hardcore fan or something and she knows the staff and has some special connections or whatever

And then, LITERALLY HALFWAY THROUGH A SONG, she stands up and she starts shouting. I’m not joking, she starts fucking shouting and pointing at like some fans in the second row saying, “Why is it they can take photos but I can’t?! You guys are too much!!!”

Mind you all, Chris is literally PERFORMING and she’s making a scene

So the staff get her to sit down, and then we think it’s the end of it right, but no she proceeds to yell at shout the same thing across like three fucking songs, and then at one point she stands up and tries to get attention from the staff to come and catch another fan seated behind her because she’s taking photos 

In the end no one else in the vicinity dared to take photos or whatever and she was still being a bitch and yelling - And the dumb thing is that she wasn’t asked to leave. This crazy woman in the first row making a scene and she’s not being asked to leave wtf

And then she just keeps shouting throughout the entire concert, and at two instances Xiao Yi had to say “Hey guys, everyone, be good okay? Everyone, please be good”

Okay and then some point in between crazy lady brings out a decanter of like whiskey and chugs it down - Like so wild

So okay, she’s sitting in the first row, and it doesn’t take a genius to know that the risk of sitting in the first row or at the sides is that staff can easily get to you to ask you to not take photos - and she’s in the “because I can’t have it NO ONE ELSE CAN” mode, which is like... okay that’s one thing, but the other part is-

CHRIS IS LITERALLY PERFORMING WHY WOULD U CAUSE A SCENE FOR HIM?!!!

And she was just plain fucking rude she was honestly yelling and scolding like other fans, and I feel like that she doesn’t have a right to do that

Around me were ALL the major Chris fanclub/fanaccount fans and they were all like wtf is wrong with her? 

Basically she was such a disruption and idk why she wasn’t asked to leave

Worst of all, in his every very last song, Chris actually sang half a verse to her directly, and IDK if he knows her, or maybe heard that she was being very enthusiastic, or didn’t know that she was being a crazy bitch, in any case, Chris effectively rewarded her bad behaviour

A lot of the fans were really upset about that, because this woman fucked up the entire experience for us (just imagine someone yelling like two rows in front of you and shouting and pointing throughout the whole like 45 minutes) and Chris basically signalled to her that it’s okay to be a nuisance to everyone else, even if it was done accidentally

Otherwise, A+ concert!!! So happy to be in Taipei again and seeing the boys!!!!! And Lisley and Kana were both there as well, and i have to say I really, really love Diane <3333

Concert was a little bit short imo but the tickets weren’t expensive so it’s alright. No fan benefits this time HAHAHA

bruv im still jus. wow. theres so much to say but. do u kno how good it feels... to be jewish, to accidentally fixate on one eric cartman & love him more than any other fictional character for almost seven years now, and then to see him in a little yarmulke, standing at kyle's side while he recites from the torah? do you know how validating that is?

i gotta get personal for a second here. idk how, but in the last few yrs my relationship with my own jewishness has been deeply influenced and intertwined with south park, as ironic and ridiculous as that sounds. i grew up secular, completely nonpracticing; as a child, i was only ethnically jewish, and saw jews as strictly an ethnicity, and a popularly hated one to boot. and it scared me. ive talked about it before, but as a child hearing about the shoah and about antisemitism, i couldn't understand. i thought it was looks for a while, which confused me, because ive got blonde hair and blue eyes and all my family that got caught up in nazi europe did/do too. i remember thinking as a second grader that i would've been spared for that reason; why didn't a good chunk of my family? but i grew up in a mormon neighborhood, with plenty of other blonde kids, and they stayed away from me like i had a disease. this was before puberty, before my hair got a little frizzier and my nose got a little bigger, when i looked just like any of them. but already, at age 8, i was an outsider. i wasn't one of them and i never would be, and they wanted me to know that.

and then i started to get it. it clicked even more once i got to high school and got called a kike every other day - but prior to high school, you know what i found, and you know what really pushed me towards understanding what being a secular jew in america meant? south park. and as a dumb little sixth grader with no critical thinking skills, you know what shaped my opinions on my own people? south park.

and that's good and bad. good because i do sincerely think kyle broflovski is excellent fictional representation for jewish people, maybe one of the top few ever shown on television. he gets on my nerves at times, but he's good through and through, he's well written and multi-dimensional, he's not a walking stereotype but he still has prominent jewish features that jewish viewers can look at and see in themselves, his morals and viewpoints and beliefs are obviously deeply influenced by judaism, hes deeply proud of his heritage and culture... and that all means a lot to me. and by the amount of jewish sp fans that adore kyle, it means a lot to them too.

the bad thing is, yeah, i can't deny it, during older seasons, cartman's treatment of kyle probably taught a lot of young and dumb viewers how to view jews in real life. have i, as a kyman shipper and cartman stan, justified that within a fictional and narrative context? yes. but it doesn't change the real-world effect; south park, but specifically cartman, since he's the mouthpiece, likely did cause some easily-influenced people to pick up antisemitic beliefs. did this contribute to the rise of the alt-right? debatable, but to some extent, possibly. was that m&t's intention and should south park be canceled and denounced? fuck no, i'll always love it lol, and fuck censorship. but it is something that should be taken into account.

matt and trey clearly regret that, and understand that it's no longer acceptable or fitting or needed in today's sociopolitical climate - or, okay, maybe they don't even regret it; they just understand that when fiction becomes reality, the fictional jackass isn't necessary when there's one right there in real life, sitting in the oval office, yeah? old cartman doesn't deserve or need a voice, not when real, awful people actually have one right now. and m&t are actively trying to change cartman for the better and really, really backpedal on his bigotry, while still doing it in a way that makes sense from a story-telling perspective. it's not a complete uncharacteristic change of character; it's shifting with the times and writing it into the character's arc so that it's a logical and plausible development in cartman's story.

cartman's behavior in the last few seasons is consistent character development. m&t themselves are pushing it, and clearly it's sincere; cartman's not faking. unless they're building up a surprise twist over the last, what, three to four seasons, that he was faking the whole time! woah! if so it better be a damn good pay off, because that's a lot of time invested. though that seems more forward-thinking than sp tends to be. they're intentionally stuck in the short-term, aren't they? plot-wise. but their character development is pretty long-term, and right now, cartman is consistently decent, and if it comes across as faking, it's because cartman's over-dramatic in how he speaks, and trey does that intentionally.

that's a tonal thing, and it's hard to say in a fictional character, but as someone who struggles with empathy myself, empathy and sincerity don't go hand in hand. you can lack empathy while still caring enough to sincerely and wholeheartedly apologize for something and mean that apology. not feeling remorse doesn't mean you can't apologize genuinely; the two don't go hand in hand. you can be mentally ill in any capacity, even a psychopath, and still deeply care about things or people, just not in the way someone else might. so you can headcanon that cartman's still a psycho/sociopath, though right now that's actually kinda going against canon, but don't rain on other's parades if they're happy he's exhibiting healthy growth. besides, and i repeat: what could cartman exploit out of faking sincerity for several seasons? nothing, so why bother? he wouldn't, unless it's literal in-show subconscious growth.

does that mean he's magically developed empathy? no. is it becoming less probable he's a legitimate sociopath/psychopath (while still possibly having better-disguised antisocial tendencies)? yes. does he seem to have better coping or anger management skills? somehow, yes! he seems to be legitimately healthier. does this mean he's no longer accountable for his past misdeeds, and even his present, less-severe ones? of course not! and you can still hate him all you want, but modern cartman is not the same as older cartman, and shouldn't be treated as such. because is this growth? absolutely.

he's clearly healthier, even happier. he's less angry, he's still a little shit but he no longer relies on bigotry or cruelty or anger to get the negative attention he thrives off, rather he gravitates towards being simply annoying. you know why he called ice? pettiness, immaturity, a little bit of spite, and a need for silly revenge. he's being intentionally petty, but going about it in a sly but no longer psychopathic way. less hannibal lector and more, idk, regina george, lol. extremely different on the antagonist scale. and cartman's been both.

and maybe it's personal bias on what type of human is worse within fiction, someone unstable and bizarre with violent tendencies (which is how he's come to be viewed in pop culture & some of the fandom, as a result of eps like scott tenorman must die), versus someone inclined towards pettiness and more silent and, i dunno, social-status-and-pride-driven types of revenge (cartman in general when he's not being particularly awful, tbh)... but i think it'd be pretty universally agreed that the latter is at the very least more tolerable, manageable, and even likeable - and certainly more redeemable. let's put it this way; if cartman continued on the path he was on, he'd be one of those tiki holding fucks, wearing a confederate flag hat, and he'd treat kyle soooo much worse. instead, m&t have turned him into a hypocritical false-woke ignorant dumbass - but that's strongly less problematique than it's counterpart, and it works.

because cartman simply serves a different narrative purpose now. and that's not sloppy writing; it's well-timed evolution of a character that stepped into a pre-9/11, pre-trump, pre-social media world! so much has changed, and south park is reflecting that in its characters, most notably in a character who was stuck in the, what, 1960s with his beliefs? that was fine way back when, but matt&trey are smart dudes - they understand that sometimes things have to change. besides, they love cartman, too. he's their favorite. but they understand that when real people act like him, it's not so comedic or satirical or funny, & they don't want to look at cartman, at their creation who they've invested twenty-two years in, and see the all-too-real hate of modern radical white america.

i think we know enough about matt&trey's social stances these days, and the empathy they've seemed to develop after having kids, to understand that they're no longer in their "apathy is best, everyone is stupid" phase. current south park is left-leaning and admittedly preachy at times, but i wouldn't want it any other way. g-d knows it's better this way than if they'd embraced and decided to appeal to their right-libertarian following instead. cartman's evolved in a progressive and positive way, and it's fucking dope, especially to us cartman stans who so badly want him to be good. and he is good right! he's doing so good!

and i know im up my own ass rn but yall know how much i myself have campaigned for jewish kyman/cartman and how much i just deeply and truly adore it, and to see it actualized in a canon episode to some extent? that meant the world to me. i couldn't believe my eyes. i was tellin lai - that's the most genuine, pure, almost violent happiness ive felt in my soul in years. that was like a straight shot of serotonin to the heart. that simple little scene made me so fucken happy yall dont even know. & theres a lot to be said about the political commentary and plenty of other people are analyzing that, but im a simple jewish kyman & cartman stan and boy ive been fed good fjskfkdkdkfk!!!

A/N: Yada yada late upload etc etc. It’s before 4am though so that’s something, right? Full disclosure, I heard a woman on tv say the line about cheese and @spiderboytotherescue thought it was about dick so I mean I had to put it in here. Also hope you guys get the Love Actually reference otherwise the last line will be extremely confusing. I haven’t proofread this and nothing really happens in it but heyho xx

December 18th

If there was one thing that would persuade you to go out on a four-degree December day, it’s a Christmas market. And as luck would have it, there was one such market not ten minutes from your flat - and a particularly good one at that.

Bundled up in a knitted jumper, your winter coat, black jeans and an exceptionally cute cream beanie-scarf-gloves combo, you all but dragged Tom by the hand through the high street. You wandered through the stalls, peering into each little wooden hut as you passed. Most were selling food; homemade jams and chutneys in jars topped with gingham-printed lids populated one stand, another overflowing with different cured meats and cheeses. You stared longingly at a huge block of stilton, but Tom pulled you away, wrinkling up his nose at the strong smell. If there was one thing you would change about your boyfriend, it would be his aversion to, shall we say, more sophisticated cheeses - i.e. ones that require their own drawer in the fridge.

“So disgusting,” he grimaced.

“And yet I still want to put it in my mouth,” you sighed, ignoring Tom’s smirk and quirked brow.

Reluctantly, you left the food stalls behind to browse through a selection of handmade jewellery. You chatted with the owner, trying to ignore your growling stomach as the woman described the spiritual properties of each of the stones in a necklace.

“Which one’s the Mind Stone?” Tom murmured in your ear, pressing against you as he pretended to inspect a truly hideous pair of earrings.

You faked a cough, bringing your gloved hand up to your face to conceal your giggle and nodding earnestly at whatever the woman was saying about auras. You had been quite interested in what she was saying, but now Tom had planted the idea in your head and you couldn’t stop picturing the necklace around Thanos’ giant purple neck.

Excusing yourself as politely as possible without actually buying anything, you squeezed past other shoppers to rejoin the stream of shoppers looping around the perimeter of the market. Stopping occasionally to look at a stall or point out a dog in a coat, you made your way around until you were back at the food stalls. This time though, you spotted something you hadn’t seen the first time, and Tom’s arm very nearly popped out of its socket from the force with which to pulled him to the counter.

“One Nutella crepe, please!”

You watched hungrily as the owner poured batter over a cast iron plate, spreading it thinly across the hot metal as it cooked. Pulling your gloves off with your teeth (cream gloves and chocolate spread don’t mix well), you recorded a Boomerang on your phone as Nutella was drizzled over, melting deliciously over the golden batter. By the time the owner handed you your crepe, folded over on itself and wrapped in a napkin, you were salivating.

Biting into the hot pancake, chocolate oozing into your mouth, you moaned, your eyes rolling back in culinary pleasure.

“Enjoying yourself?” Tom smirked, chuckling when you nodded enthusiastically. “Think you could handle getting a hot chocolate or will that push you over the edge?”

Licking a smudge of chocolate from the corner of your mouth, you nodded again. Looking around for a moment, you jabbed your crepe in the direction of a nearby bench. With melted chocolate sticking to the roof of your mouth, words were not an option, but Tom got the gist.

The metal seat was cold beneath your thighs when you sat down, your legs bouncing to keep warm as you waited for Tom to come back with your drink. Munching happily on your crepe, you took the opportunity to people watch. Being a Tuesday afternoon, it wasn’t exactly heaving, but there were a fair few people out. You watched a young mother crouching down in front of her son’s pushchair, trying desperately to shove his woolly hat back on his head after each time he tore it off. Kids are weird, you thought, I wouldn’t take this hat off if you paid me.

Taking another bite of your rapidly disappearing crepe, you turned your attention to an elderly couple across the street. You’d seen them about before, the man with his walking frame and the woman walking in front of him, pulling him along by the frame like it was a supermarket trolley with a wonky wheel as opposed to a walking aid. You watched them shuffling along the street together, contemplating what their story might be as you ate. Were they childhood sweethearts? Maybe they were on-again-off-again lovers in their youth, separated by some twist of fate, only to be reunited as divorcees some forty years later? Maybe they weren’t even a couple, maybe they were siblings, cousins, friends - you’d never know, but that’s all part of the fun.

“Stop staring at that old man.”

Tom’s voice pulled you from your speculations, a steaming cup of hot chocolate in each of his hands.

“How do you know I wasn’t staring at the woman?”

You nodded matter-of-factly when he shrugged, popping the last of your crepe into your mouth. Wiggling your legs as you got to your feet, you tried to regain some of the feeling in your thighs that you’d lost from sitting on the freezing metal.

“Apparently that’s how you get piles,” Tom noted as he handed you your drink. “Sitting on cold surfaces.”

“That-ah-” you took a sip, panting when the hot liquid burned your tongue. “That’s not true, but can we please not talk about piles?”

Taking your hand, Tom gave an exaggerated sigh.

“You never want to talk about anything fun.”

You pottered around the shops hand in hand for a while, sipping your drinks once they’d cooled down (and a couple of times before - you never learn). You snapped a few photographs as you went - one of the Christmas tree in front of shopping centre, one of the phone boxes toppled over like dominoes on Old London Road - and a couple of Tom looking startled with fans who mustered up the courage to ask for a picture after not-very-subtly following you around John Lewis for twenty minutes.

“Why do you look so terrified?” you laughed as you walked away. “You’re literally on camera for a living but as soon as someone goes to take a picture it’s like you lose control of your face.”

“You’re such a bitch, anyone ever tell you that?”

“Once or twice,” you shrugged, squeezing Tom’s hand as he linked his fingers through yours. “No one important though.”

By the time you left the department store, heavily laden with bags and most of your Christmas shopping complete, you were about ready to head home and fall onto the sofa in a heap. You were just about to suggest this to Tom when he stopped dead in his tracks, a panicked look on his face.

“Oh shit-”

“What?” You rejigged the bags in your hands, the handles cutting into your palms as you looked over your shoulder at him.

“I forgot to- hang on.” He stepped to the side, out of the way of people coming in and out of the store before setting his bags down. “Wait here, don’t follow me, I’ll be back.”

He pressed a kiss to your forehead, leaving you bewildered by the umbrellas as he scurried away back into the depths of the department store.

Five minutes later he reappeared, slightly out of breath and his cheeks flushed pink.

“Ready to go?” He smiled brightly at you, picking up the bags he’d set on the floor.

“You know I can see the box in your back pocket, right?”

Tom’s face drained of colour, his mouth opening and closing uselessly as his brain flicked through possible excuses.

“That- well - it’s-”

You shifted your bags to one hand, holding his jaw still with the other so you could bring you lips to hover just over his.

“If that turns out to be a fucking Joni Mitchell CD I will murder you.”

a lil joke based on their casual view on death and well. death

dunno if theyd be a hero, villain, or civillian! theyre all pretty fun to explore. a vigilante would also be cool but i dont think theyd be a super morally upstanding one. definitely theyd kill a villain to restrain them bc "theyre totally fine! yeah, they're definitely dead, officer, but theyll walk it off in a few hours so it's no big!"

Casualty: The Undying Hero! (or is it the other way around? idk how hero titles work) their wounds heal faster than most and if they “rejuvenate” you (crowdsourced name), one quick nap later you'll be good as new! (bc they also heal faster when out though not as fast as them) they will only "rejuvenate" people who have given their full consent or there is no other option (heros they work with sign contracts that give the okay and for what circumstances)(civillians give spoken consent and can request a full contract at their agency if theyre frequent fliers)

casualty decides case by case what the best course of action would be because, unfortunately, they do come across several suicidal heros and civillians alike that just want to know what its like to die. they have several connections with mental health professionals!

like eraserhead, casualty's quirk doesnt give way to much combat ability (pretty good for defense tho is still hesitant to kill someone. villain or not. some ppl can get addicted to the feeling) they compensate during fights with support tools! this isnt something ive thought about so idk what kind of fighting style theyd gear themselves towards but i think id like something pretty versatile.

also kinda looking for the secret to their death since yeah their own body can kill them but they dont really get sick and, while not immortal, they'll likely outlive everyone of their generation

Casualty: The Killer Villain! (do villains even have titles like this lol?) just THINK of the way torture would go! they can drive right up that edge and when they push a little harder and you come out the otherside unscathed you still arent safe bc youre under their whim! not a big bad with huge showy villainous actions but arguably much worse than those who make headlines.

more of an information broker! theyre the one u go to if u wanna make someone break. also takes "assassination" jobs (the PERFECT person to help you fake your death. deals identities like cards) not much in the way of morals and will give you a quick death fix but mostly to get you off their back (thinks ppl who wanna die are pretty disgusting and they revel entirely in their longlasting life. slow and steady, babey) has people contracted to kill others for them.

definitely looking for someone able to kill them. it's a big daring exciting joke to them! fellow villains will make attempts and theyll critique their effort later. also they make a very good partner for ppl trying to test out how much a new move would hurt (other villains come to these spars and time how long casualty stays down. theres a leader board for the longest time down bc it means their move was incredibly violent)

Casualty: A Name as Feared as it is Revered! (okay this one is just for fun) being able to kill but it not sticking is PERFECT for them in their mind. in this universe they couldnt think of another path being better for them (because of their black and white view of “heros save” and “villains kill” and that their quirk fits neither. not really)

theyve got a hit on them from everyone and it makes their days exciting! they compliment the more creative attempts and will drop by the place of person who killed them and leave a sticky note with a full review lol. as mentioned above, kills as a way to restrain! it's to the point where it's so common that whenever it's mentioned that they were involved w a crime a special crew comes to take care of it (you gotta be trained to compartmentalize seeing so many dead ppl that wake up kicking. it does smthn to ya)

theyll target everyone alike! heros, villains, civillians! it doesn't matter youre all ripe for the pickin! theyve got ins with a wide range of ppl and if they cant deal with them personally theyll follow what they see as the best course of action. some people deserve to be publically demolished by a hero, some deserve the horror of a villain, and some deserve the cold hand of civillian law. theyve got a little (major) god complex and believe they have the right to be the judge jury and executioner (in spirit lol) obviously this mindset isnt well received by the public (coughstainchough) but unfortunately they make good judgement calls and they usually dont get the final say in what happens to someone anyway (unless they kill the person and that person learns their lesson or whatever)

does however have a personal vendetta of reforming systems and being very against the pissing contest that are hero rankings. this occasionally makes their judgement calls biased.

the most consistent things would be:

connections. lots of them and the types of connections depend on what path theyre on. theyre good at talking

outside support in the form of weapons or people to "finish the job"

general belief that their choice is more than likely the right choice

loose morals. comes with the territory of a death based quirk

controversial in any universe (except maybe a bonus one where they claim their quirk is not being able to die and not also not being able to kill? that universe would be steeped in self hate and either a bitter death or a life dedicated to putting a mental health support system in place for people with "villainous" quirks)(actually their quirk would still be controversial bc thats the point lol)

permanent casual view on death. doesnt see the big deal

very hm. unconnected to living? sure theyre just excited to be here! but they have the most solid grasp on the inevitability of death while also not super getting that when someone dies they get to stay dead? theres also the tiniest bit of envy there

probably either never got the death talk or got it very late. no one knows how many kids were at risk while being friends with them while young bc they wouldnt put the effort into saving them from life threatening situations (bc casualty always got back up, why wouldnt anyone else)

(bonus story for above would be that once while they were a kid a friend fell off a tree and hit the ground in front of them and they just walked away to keep playing then they came back later and the friend was still there so they went to either their own parent or the kid's parents and told them "[name] is taking a long time to get back up, i wanna play again." queue the sad ending here im aiming for)

upbeat sometimes in a near manic way. genuinely happy really often and finds joy in the smallest things like a slug in the grass or a wildflower coming out of the sidewalk (life in all kinds of places in all kinds of ways!)(theyre big fans of mushrooms. in death theres life or life gives way to life or whatever. idk it's fake deep. i just think mushrooms are cool and wanna project)

anyway this is like. long as shit lol! is anyone even reading this? i love you if you are. i might try to take this character and bend it to fit some of my own worlds bc wow i think theyre cool BUT if any bnha fans ARE reading this please feel free to include them in fics or stuff if you want! link me if you do id literally fall in love (u can name them what u want, dress them how you want, give them whatever pronouns you want, etc.)(dont claim them ofc but using them is fine!)

Christmas (in July) Confession

A/N: Ok....based on the title, you can tell I was supposed to post this MUCH earlier...sorry about that...I did my best pls dont hate it...also yes there was a small influence from The Office don’t judge me...

It was in the dead middle of summer, and you and your friends were in the Christmas spirit. You had been going through a terrible heat wave, and everyone was more than ready for the cold cool feeling of winter. So, to combat the heat and to help everyone feel a little less bored, you all decided to throw a Christmas party...

In July.

The entire thing would be just like any other normal Christmas party. There would be carols playing, and decorations everywhere. There would be a (fake) tree with ornaments and presents underneath. You all even planned to do a small gift exchange, where everyone picked a name out of a hat, and you had to buy a present for that person. There would be an ugly holiday sweater competition, obviously. Then, it would end with a barbecue feast and lots of sweet Christmas treats. It was the perfect holiday celebration to kick of the festive spirit...only six months in advance.

Jae, in the midst of all the planning, had found an even greater motivation to hold the party.

You.

You and Jae had been friends since your freshman year of college. You had met in the laundry room at the dorms. He was in there in the wee hours of the morning, since that was the only time he could find open machines. He had been dozing off on the bench when you slammed the door open, a giant bag of laundry and a roll of quarters in your hand. Jae jumped awake, so much so that he almost fell off the bench completely.

“DO YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THIS?” you asked him frantically.

“...yes...” he replied, completely confused and dazed.

“GOOD. I accidentally spilled food all over my clothes even though I know I shouldn’t have this late at night and I need clean clothes please help me...” you begged him frantically.

Jae chuckled, but kindly assisted you in your quest for clean clothes. You two bonded quickly over the fact that both of you were freshman, and had no idea what you were doing with your lives. Jae found out that you were a fan of the same music as him as well, which he appreciated. He even made sure to walk you back to your dorm once both of your laundry was done.

From then on, the two of you had become very close friends. You two helped each other through all of college problems, and even some personal ones as well. But over that time, Jae had also let himself fall completely head over heels for you. The more time he spent with you, the more he realized that you were everything he was looking for. You were his friend and his partner. He was smitten.

This Christmas party was his chance to finally get everything off his chest. He had convinced himself that you didn’t feel the same, but as long as he told you, he’d be okay. He needed to at least let you know where he stood, and whatever happened after that was completely up to the universe.

The day of the party came sooner than Jae realized. He had your gift prepared, his ugly Christmas sweater on, and he was ready to party. When he arrived, most everyone was already there mingling, including you. He said hi to everyone before placing his present for you under the tree. He went to talk to some of his other friends, but not before he caught himself gazing at you from afar. His heart began to beat more rapidly, knowing that today would make or break your entire relationship. 

“Here goes nothing,” Jae thought to himself.

Once everyone arrived, it was time for the gift exchange. Everyone sat around the living room area, and the designated Santa (it was Wonpil because no one else wanted to do it) began to pass out presents to people. Jae watched as he handed your gift to you, and Jae’s heart sped up again. A few people opened their gifts first, each earning a lot of laughs and smiles. 

Then it was your turn.

Jae held his breath as you opened up the package. He had found it months ago and was looking for the right time to give it to you. Now was his chance.

“It’s the mug! The one I’ve been looking for everywhere!” you exclaimed, overjoyed at the fact that your search for a rare coffee mug idk either just go with it had come to an end.

“I remember you mentioned it a while ago, and I barely managed to find one for today,” Jae lied through his teeth. 

“You are the best, Jae!” you yelled as you gently placed the mug down, running over him to give him a hug. You squeezed him tight before letting him go and sitting back down. Jae could have sworn his soul flew out of his body in that moment. 

The group continued to open presents, and Jae glanced over at you every now and again to make sure that you saw the note that he left inside the mug to meet him in the kitchen later. He saw you pick it up and smile before placing it gently back in the mug. What he didn’t see was the endearing smile that you gave him moments after you had put it back. 

The gift exchange finished, and everyone moved on to different activities. Jae was slightly bitter that his amazing ugly Christmas sweater didn’t win the contest, but he remembered that he had other more important things to worry about that evening than a sweater contest. You and Jae would continue to steal glances at each other from across the room, anticipating the conversation that had yet to come.

Everyone eventually settled down in the dining room for the Christmas in July feast, except for you and Jae. He pulled you aside into the kitchen doorway, finally taking the leap of faith that he planned to. He felt like his whole body was on fire with nervousness as you stood in front of him, you none the wiser to what was about to come. 

“Hey, (Y/N),” he uttered out nervously.

“Hi, Jae,” you giggled, noticing he was a little shakier than usual. “Everything okay?”

“Uh...I guess? So...you got the note, yeah?” he asked. You nodded in response. “Well...uh...there is something important that I...uh...wanted to talk to you...about...yeah...”

“What did you want to talk about?” you asked him. You could see him take a deep breath in an attempt to calm his nerves.

“So...we have been friends for a while, and...I think you’re really cool and stuff...and, I know you probably don’t feel the same way, but...I really like you? Like, like like you?....in a romantic way? So...yeah...” he confessed.

You were completely silent for a moment before you broke into a smile.

“I was wondering when you were finally going to tell me,” you joked.

“Wait...what...”

“I’ve had the biggest crush on you for, like, ever, and I could have sworn you felt the same way. I see the looks you give me and how you act around me. You don’t do that for just anyone,” you explained.

“So...what you’re saying is...”

“I like you and I wanna be in a relationship with you, you dweeb,” you speak with a smile.

“Oh thank god...” he whispered to himself.

“HEY EVERYONE! (Y/N) AND JAE ARE STANDING UNDER THE MISTLETOE” you heard one of your friends yell.

You and Jae looked up to see a sprig of mistletoe hanging above the two of you on the doorframe. 

“Well...did not see that one coming...” Jae spoke to himself.

“KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS” the entire room began to cheer. You and Jae looked at each other with flushed cheeks.

“I mean...we kinda have to, don’t we,” you murmured to him.

“Yep...”

You turned to him and sighed.

“Here goes nothing,” you spoke before putting your hands on the sides of his neck, bringing his face down to your height. In a split second, your lips were gently on his in a soft kiss. The entire room broke out in cheers at the two of you before going back to their meal, whispering wildly about the scene they just witnessed.

You and Jae slowly pull away from each other, both of you immediately avoiding eye contact. You rub your lips gently, still feeling a tingling sensation flooding through them.

“So that was...” you started.

“Yeah...” he softly responded. “Can we do it again?”

a more vague conclusion page in here would talk about the interest filling that gap, and would segue into sung’s design idea

idt he’d think bear headphones exist so he’d present it as earmuffs + headphones. he’d go on to talk about why bears and headphones represent his image/brand, some slides he would have hated making about his sellability as it comes to brands he has promoted for, as well as things he owns that are bear themed that had spikes in selling after he used them. ofc this applies to any idol, but he’d feel it was important in a business context to point out why this is the Right choice. he’d tie back to sun’s goodnight, and his image growing into that of a music producer as well, saying that it applies to a deeper meaning for the fans who care about his side projects, and lighter ones who just like him being a bear in their eyes, as well as generally is a cute design that could apply to non fans. he would also go into detail of research on sound quality, design re: comfortability, and the more aesthetic ideas of what he’s thinking (the fuzz, the face, the colors), as well as price margins in all of those areas, compared against prices margins of similar headphones

“I want to ask what the origin story behind this is, but I think I’m better off not knowing,” Tom typed. He attached a “selfie” wearing a bright blue shirt with the word “Wowie” printed on it in a strange fashion. Then, he sent the whole thing to Ethan.

He did see the other texts from the boy that he received the evening before, but Tom was dying to show this to him now. He finally had a look at what Ethan’s “merch” was like. To say he was not expecting “wowie” on a t-shirt was an understatement. Why “wowie”?

Halfway through editing this video, Tom kind of despised Ethan… and he definitely hated the word “Wowie” with a burning passion. It wasn’t all bad, though. Tom had spent the day with a funny pair of people: Parker and Andrew. He didn’t have to consciously act like Ethan to get along with the pair. They were so graciously weird that seeing their friend act out of character was considered normal for them… if that made any sense. The three of them, along with Amy, made a video together that was about this awful blue t-shirt. A promotional video, and instead of having a whole filming crew complete with camera men and editors, it was all self made. It was impressive, don’t get him wrong, but Tom only thrived when he was on camera, not behind the scenes.

It was a minute and a half long video, yet it was taking ages for him to put it all together. Not to mention, Tom was awaiting an update from Ethan about Zendaya. Earlier, he had said that she wanted to talk, and god knows what that was supposed to mean. On top of that, Bella was getting a little harder to handle.

Tom had invited her to come along to shoot the video, but she had gotten immensely sheepish and timid when she heard about the people who would be joining them. She made an excuse about having emails to answer and business Skype meetings to have. She only returned to his apartment after hearing that Parker, Andrew, and Amy had left for the day, and even then she just stayed in the living room while Tom finished the video. Weird, but whatever.

A few hours later, Tom could say he was proud of what he had created. The video was very sarcastic, and kind of funny, but it got the message across: “Buy this ugly ass shirt.” Really, he didn’t see the appeal, but Ethan’s fans sure did. The shirt had been on sale on Ethan’s merch store all month, and as of today, there were only ten days left to buy it. Tom learned all of this through Parker, who had a hand in running the store. Thank god he wasn’t left in completely in the dark.

Thing is, Tom easily learned about different aspects of this kid’s life. He knew the girlfriend, a good amount of the friends, and just enough about his personality to get by. The hard part was the YouTube stuff, because everyone around him assumed that he knew what he was doing. They all assumed he was Ethan. How bizarre would it be if Ethan just suddenly asked for help on the basics of editing a simple video? How long would it be for someone to figure that this wasn’t Ethan, that it was somebody else? What would they do, besides throw him in an asylum?

A knock on the bedroom door snapped Tom out of his thoughts. He pulled off his headphones and granted access.

Bella came in, an unreadable expression on her face. “Hey…”

“Hi, love,” Tom greeted, turning in his chair to face her.

She stepped in, looking around the room as she tangled her fingers together. “I don’t mean to interrupt you, I’m just…” She sighed. “This is really stupid, like really stupid…”

“Oh, how bad could it be?” he asked, putting on a kind smile, despite how nervous the sudden tension made him.

Bella picked at her nails to fill the silence. But she finally asked in a soft voice, “why didn’t you ask me to be in your video?”

Honestly, Tom had been hoping she had that conversation with her real boyfriend. Even he found it weird that the “talking to women” bit from the video starred Amy. Why not Bella? It probably wasn’t something to fuss about, but the girl’s nerves radiated for miles, it made Tom himself feel like he had done something wrong. He didn’t even know how to respond.

“I mean, you and Parker came up with the video idea like what? Two weeks ago,” she rambled, “and you guys came up with the ‘talking to girls’ thing and your first thought was Amy? Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I-I mean she did come up with the shirt design…”

Ah, so that was the culprit.

“I-It’s not that I wanted to slap you - uh, fake slap you for a video,” Bella went on, her voice getting shaky, “i-it’s just you didn’t think to ask me, I don’t know. Am I freaking out over nothing?”

“You freak out over everything,” Tom said without thinking. There was a small pause before he turned back to the computer.

“I know, it’s what I do,” Bella said, not seeming offended by that statement. “It probably wasn’t a big deal. I shouldn’t have bothered you, sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it. Any other thoughts, concerns?” It was half sarcastic, but she took the bait.

“I’ve been… having dreams…”

Ethan was supposed to know that tone, what that particular phrase meant. Tom, on the other hand, was clueless.

“Naughty dreams?”

“No.” Bella’s tone was serious now. She paced around the small recording space, still picking at her nails. “Bad dreams. I’ve had dreams like this before… Ethan, please don’t make me say it.”

It had been five days since the switch, five days of being this girl’s boyfriend, and Tom was getting more and more impatient.

“Don’t talk about it then,” he said with a shrug. “If it’s really that scary, or disturbing, or whatever it is... then you don’t need to speak of it.”

Again, it was silent. Tom definitely said the wrong thing, but he didn’t know how to handle a girl with anxiety. He could barely handle Zendaya, even though he hoped to fix things with her.

“You’re probably right,” Bella spoke at last. She turned on her heel towards the door. “No one wants to remember that time, especially me.” She stopped at the doorway and looked back at him. “Oh, and I just figured out why I was freaking out over Amy. It’s been almost a year since Mark left me for her.”

Whoa. What would Ethan say to that? What would Ethan think about his girlfriend mentioning her ex?

Speaking of the ex, Tom’s phone dinged on his desk. Mark had texted him. Admittedly, Tom wasn’t really texting anyone consistently apart from Ethan. He had also ignored Mark’s texts from the other day, so there was a chance he wasn’t on good terms with the boss.

“Hey look man, I don’t know what’s going on with you lately, but I need an answer. Are you going to be returning to work anytime soon? Or do we need to make a public statement that you don’t work for me anymore? I’m not trying to put pressure on you, or anything with malice. I just need to know what’s going on business wise.”

Public statement? So the fans knew Mark had editors? And there had to be something said publicly when something changed behind the scenes? Is that how YouTube works?

“I think my girlfriend is hung up on you, you’re the last person I need to see right now,” Tom typed for literally no other reason except to see if it sounded like something his other half would say. He chuckled to himself after deeming that it was too ridiculous and out of line and went to delete it…

You know when you mean to do one thing but instead do another? Yeah, Tom somehow mixed up the ‘send’ key and the ‘backspace’ key, and well…

“Fuck!” he snapped, sitting up in his chair, watching as the angry text sent. “No, no, no, no! Shit!”

Oh god, Ethan was so fired.

Tom didn’t have the heart to tell Ethan about the wonderful conversation he had with Mark following that text. He read through the messages he received while he was editing over and over again just to avoid telling him what went down. Ethan seemed excited to be in Montreal.

“So guess I have a workout tomorrow morning? Wish me luck bc I’ll actually die.” That’ll be fun to hear about, but it didn’t settle the knot in Tom’s stomach.

“I’m almost ok with the switch if it means getting to stay in this house dude it’s so nice?? I’m never leaving.” Tom was not okay with the switch. He wanted to be in that house right now, leave Ethan with the mess that he made.

“I finished the wowie video. I hate the word wowie. Please never say it again,” he typed and sent before reading the rest of the texts. He noticed that Ethan will either be completely silent, or send multiple texts at once. No in between.

“Also,,,,, fuck kinda friendship you got with Harrison? You give each other lap dances???” Ethan asked. Oh no. Oh god. “Not judging, just wish I’d known you were rejecting zendaya for ur best m8 lolol.”

Tom literally groaned out loud and palmed his forehead. Then, he frantically sent, “IT WASNOTHING WE DONT SPEAK OF IT SHUT UP.” No way he was getting into that with this guy. He wouldn’t understand.

The next message didn’t help very much. “Speaking of Daya, we talked today. She asked abot how you feel and what you thought you 2 had going on. Made it clear it was her choice what happened, but that you’re just friends? Idk man how DO you feel?”

“Anyway, the videos were good. Much better than Tyler’s first edits for sure. Good job, I’m impressed.”

“Shooting starts tomorrow so I’m off to learn everything there is to know about acting…….. By watching some movie wiht the guys, gn.”

Tom sat there for a few minutes, trying to word any of the thoughts in his head. Why couldn’t have Ethan made the Zendaya decision for him? He seems like a nice guy, he’s had a girlfriend for six months, and she didn’t seem tired of him!

“I’ll deal with her when we switch back… by the way when are we gonna switch back??? Anyway, have a good night mate, have a pint for me!”
