#(so two guesses what anakin is insecure about here)

I feel like this is a big ask, but 1. welcome back! 2. can you ever see KUWSK going angsty? Not permanently or anything, but what would a KUWSK obikin disagreement look like?
yes thank you for welcoming me back a month and a half ago i'm a bit trash to be so late on this but!! here is about 2k of a more serious fight between anakin and obi-wan.
(2k)
“You’re talking to your ex,” Anakin says. It’s the tone of voice he uses on work calls when he’s absolutely furious but trying to remain professional. Obi-Wan has never heard it directed at him before. He almost doesn’t recognize it.
“Casually,” he stresses. “We’re…casually speaking.”
“Casually,” Anakin echoes in that same voice. Obi-Wan is starting to think he’s done something incredibly wrong.
“She messaged me,” he stresses, feeling as if this is an important fact. “I didn’t reach out to her.”
“But you reached back!” Anakin says loudly, putting the spoon on its rest a touch too forcefully. “And then you didn’t even tell me!”
“I thought it was a non-issue!” Obi-Wan protests. “I don’t tell you when I talk to the woman at the supermarket checkout line!”
“Keep Francesca out of this,” Anakin cuts through the air with the side of his hand as he spins around to open their spice cabinet. “You know full well that’s different.”
“She flirts with me at the store, and you’re fine with it!” Obi-Wan quite completely feels like tearing out his hair. He can’t believe they’re having this conversation. He can’t believe his own fortune, that he’d pulled up a picture mid-playful argument with Anakin over what the twins had dressed as for Halloween when they were five, and he’d shown it to his partner at the exact moment that Satine ex-Kenobi had texted him, replying to something he'd sent a week ago.
That had pretty much ended the playful part of their argument.
“Yeah, and it’s not the fucking same, Obi-Wan,” Anakin responds, shaking a bit of salt aggressively into the stew. “You were never fucking married to fucking Francesca.”
“Anakin—”
“And by the way,” Anakin snaps, trading the salt for cayenne pepper and seasoning it liberally. “Implying that your ex-wife is also flirting with you over texts you did not tell me about is not the best strategy, Professor.”
The worst part is that he’s not even looking at him anymore, scowling instead into the contents of the heavy pot.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan tries, because he’s not listening, he’s just reacting. Of course Obi-Wan knows Francesca and Satine aren’t really the same thing, but they mean the same thing to him. One slips him free red bell peppers sometimes by ringing them up as green ones with a wink and a quirk of her lips. The other is his ex-wife.
But neither of them is Anakin, and so they mean the same thing to him. He doesn’t love them. He can’t even pay them the slightest modicum of his attention, because he’s too wrapped up in and around and going crazy over this man who’s petty enough to have absolutely just ruined Obi-Wan’s dinner on purpose by adding too much spice to the stew Obi-Wan had requested.
“Anakin, I think we need to take a step back from this,” he finally gets out when his partner is distracted by opening and closing the cabinet doors, ostensibly looking for the bowls even though he’d been the one to reorganize the dishes in the first place, years ago, and he’s never not known where something is.
“I think I’m going to sleep in my room tonight,” Anakin replies in an icy voice. “I think you might be right.”
“What? Darling, no—Anakin, love, it’s—casual cannot even come close to describing the texts, you can read them if you want, there’s nothing there—“
“Daddy? Obi?” Luke asks from the kitchen doorway. He’s peering around it, little face looking horrified. Obi-Wan freezes. How loud had they been? Luke and Leia are seven now, they remember these things, they have questions—“Is dinner ready? Obi?”
Leia’s face joins the same pale ghost of her brother’s, and Obi-Wan feels awful. Absolutely terrible, but the sort of terrible he doesn’t know what to do with. The twins heard them arguing, they were practically shouting at each other, Anakin is planning to sleep in a different room, Anakin didn’t even call it a guest room, he called it his room even though they’ve been together for—for a year and a bit now—and isn’t that devastating? My room, Anakin had said. Does he not understand everything Obi-Wan owns is his as well? Does he…does he not want it?
“Almost,” Anakin replies. He sounds so forcefully happy that it’s manic. It comes across much too fake, and Obi-Wan can feel the way Luke immediately distrusts the word, the expression. “I just realized I forgot something at the store though! We need bread! We can’t have the stew without bread.”
Anakin nods once to himself as he says this, shooting Obi-Wan a very quick glance before his eyes snag on the phone on the counter between them and he looks away as if incredibly pained, hands ghosting down to the pockets of his jeans to check for his keys.
Obi-Wan thinks it would really actually kill a part of him to watch Anakin drive away on his bike right now. Not to mention the twins.
Oh, the twins.
This had been why they were so hesitant in the first place, to bite the bullet, to kiss and mean it and remember it and lean in again. Their relationship affects the twins, and as much as Obi-Wan loves Anakin, he’d been so worried about even accidentally causing the kids distress.
He thinks seeing their father leave when they can tell something is wrong would be devastating.
“I’ll go,” Obi-Wan says, putting a hand flat on the counter, pocketing the phone, and fighting the urge to glare at Anakin because the other man should know—should think—but this Anakin is almost a stranger to him, all clenched jaw and shaking hands and it’s just a text—it sort of makes him mad as well, angry that it hurts so much, that Anakin doesn’t trust him. They’ve known each other going on three years, their entire lives were intertwined almost immediately. “Give me the keys.”
“Yeah, right,” Anakin scoffs, shoulders tense and unyielding. “To the bike?”
“No, dumb—” he cuts himself off because he’s too old to be namecalling, especially around little ears. “The keys to the car are behind you. On their hook. Can you hand them to me?”  He doesn’t think he should get within a few feet of Anakin right now. Not for fear of violence–either from him or from his partner—but because it just—it doesn’t seem like a good idea. Not when they need bread.
“Should I leave my phone?” He can’t help but ask acidly.
“I don’t know,” Anakin shoots back with deadly accuracy, slinging the keys across the countertop hard enough that they spin out of control and Obi-Wan has to stoop to catch them “Should you?”
Obi-Wan turns and gets to the mouth of the kitchen without another word. He debates his actions, his emotions, for a second’s pause before he puts his phone on the countertop and sweeps out into the entryway and then just as quickly out of the house all together.
He can’t go far. The Skywalkers have made him incapable of it. He’ll go to the store. He’ll get Anakin his fucking bread, which really means he’ll give Anakin space to think, and he’ll take his own space to think, and then he’ll come back because it’s Anakin, it’s Anakin and it’s his family, and he thinks this is the stupidest fight in the entire goddamn world because doesn’t Anakin know how much he can’t love anyone else? Doesn’t he know that if Satine were to turn up on his doorstep tomorrow and ask for him to unsign the divorce papers, he wouldn’t even consider it?
Doesn’t he know—
“Obi?” Leia’s voice says at the same time there’s a hesitant tug on the edge of his shirt. He turns around and looks down at the girl. “Where are you going, Obi?”
“Your father wants bread for dinner,” he tells her. “So I’m going out to get bread. For dinner.”
“Oh,” Leia bites her lip before looking back behind her at the open door of the house. “Luke wants to know if you’re gonna come back, Obi.”
Since she turned seven, Leia has had trouble admitting when she wants to know something. She finds it so much easier to pretend she’s her brother’s spokesperson. “Daddy, Luke wants to know if the dog dies in the movie.” “Obi, Luke wants to know if we have to go to the barbecue, only cause Johnny is going to be there, and Luke really doesn’t like him.”
“Leia love,” Obi-Wan crouches down to look at her completely. “Of course I’m coming back. We need bread, darling.”
“I don’t want bread,” she snaps, sounding suddenly so very much like her father. “I want you.”
“Leia,” Obi-Wan pauses, smoothing his hand over the top of her hair carefully. He needs to soothe her, because he and Anakin had been so out of line earlier, fighting where the children could hear and now look what it’s done to them.
“Obi,” Luke trots out of the house before he can figure out what to say to her. “Obi, you should take this,” he holds something up and presses it into unresisting hands. “If daddy needs to keep your phone, you can have mine. Just in case you wanna talk to us while you’re gone.”
It’s the plastic, bulky flip phone that’d come in a kit of kid’s toys a Christmas ago. Smiley faces instead of buttons, but it made sounds when you hit it. Luke had been obsessed with it from the beginning.
Obi-Wan looks down at the phone and feels the very absurd urge to cry. “Loves,” he whispers, pulling Leia into his side. “Oh—”
He remembers thinking once when he’d just been given the Skywalkers, that first time he’d been asked to sit beside Luke’s bed until he fell asleep, that for children, love was about staying.
How can he possibly leave them now? When he loves them so much as well? When his love never grew out of that childs wish for someone to stroke his hair as he dozed?
“Oh, alright, Luke, Leia,” he says, standing with only a bit of a wince because he’s getting so very old and Leia has thrown her arms around his neck unexpectedly so he rises with the weight of a child attached to him. “If your daddy wants bread, then let’s get him bread.”
“Road trip?” Leia asks with excitement.
“Better,” Obi-Wan promises, letting Luke grab onto his hand. “Science experiment.”

How the clones would ask you out (Genderneutral)
Includes Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, Kix, Cody and Wolffe
Warnings: None
Rex
Poor Rex would be so, so nervous
It took pep talks vom Anakin, Ahsoka and several of his brothers to get up the courage to actually ask you out (though not all of them were all that helpful)
Rex wouldn’t ask you out in public or at work, he’d go to your flat instead
His strong knock doesn’t betray his nerves, but the second you open the door he cannot remember what he was going to say for the life of him
Luckily he was trained as a soldier his entire life and it only takes him a few second to forget about his nerves and continue with his plan
“I was wondering if you’d like to go on a picnic with me tomorrow?”
A picnic, Ahsoka had convinced him, would be the perfect first date. The two of them had even decided on a nice place in one of Coruscant’s few parks together
(Plus Rex likes to bake and cook, it’s his way of dealing with the stress of war (and his brothers’ shenanigans))
“I’d love to.”
You have never seen such a big smile on Rex’s face
“Great. That’s great.”
You chatted for a few more minutes before Rex had to excuse himself. Just as you were closing the door you stuck your head out again.  “Rex?”  “Yes.”  “Is this a date?”  The small blush on his face was adorable.  “I’d like it to be, if that’s fine with you.”  You smiled.  “It’s more than fine.”
Fives
If anyone has an actual pickup line it’s Fives, not in a creepy way though, he’s cute about it
The two of you have been flirting back and forth for a while now and Fives, after finally no longer denying his feelings, decides to ask you out
He walks up to you with every bit of confidence he can muster
“Hey handsome, what brings you here?”, you ask. Your usual greeting, but Fives doesn’t reply in the way he usually does (”Hey mesh’la, just coming to admire the view.”)  “Since you make my heart sing I was wondering if you’d like to accompany to a concert tomorrow.”
You could tell that he wasn’t joking this time, but still decided to have your fun with him.
“So sorry, I already promised another handsome young man with a number as his name to spend the day with him.”  As soon as the words left your mouth the smile fell from Fives’ face and instantly made you regret your words.  “Oh, baby, no. I was only joking. I’d love to go out with you.”  The smirk was back and brighter than ever.  “It’s a date!”, he said a bit louder than he had to.
He’d kiss you on the cheek before saying goodbye.
(And maybe he even whispers suggestions for what you could do after the concert in your ear.)
Echo
Much like Rex, Echo is quite nervous
At first he was glad to have Fives on his side to give him advice, but he soon learned that not everything his brother suggested would go down well
He’d wait for you at work and offer to walk you home, because someone once told him that travelling in the same direction eases conversation
When you exit the building your eyes immediately fall on Echo, who is standing nearby with flowers in his hand.  “What are you doing here?”, you ask with a smile on your face.  “I... well... I saw these flowers in the market downton and they made me think of you.” He hands you the flowers, suddenly even more nervous now that he doesn’t have anything in his hands.  “That’s so sweet”, you say as you lift the flowers to your nose. “I was just on my way home, would you like to join me and come in for a cup of caf?”
The two spend the rest of the day together. Walking home, drinking caf, cooking dinner. After a while Echo’s nervousness fades and only returns when he realises it’s time for him to return to the barracks.
“Actually I had another reason to come to see you today. I was wondering if you’d like to go out with me sometime. Like on a date. If you would like to go on a date with me.”  You laugh and the sound Echo usually cherishes breaks his heart, which you soon realise. “Oh, Echo, honey, no! I mean yes, but I just thought that today was kinda like... a date... I’m sorry, I was just assuming, I should have actually asked you.”  A smile mirroring yours appeared on his face.  “So... How about a second date?”
Jesse
Jesse only realises that he needs to ask you out as soon as possible after a particularly tough mission. A lot of his brothers died, even more got hurt, and he spent a few days in the medbay as well.
The second he’s back on Coruscant he comms you asking where you are and no matter where you are or what you’re doing, he’s on his way to you as soon as you answer.
“Stars, Jesse, what’s gotten into you?”, you ask when you open the door to his rapid knocking.  “I like you, I really like you and I don’t want to die without ever asking you out. So, (Y/N), will you go out with me?”  At first you don’t know what to say.  “Of course I’ll go out with you. But maybe you should sit down for a minute, you don’t seem like yourself.”
After just a few minutes and a cup of herbal tea the two of you were talking and joking like always. That is until you remember an appointment you had to hurry to make.  “I’d hate to throw you out, but I really need to go.”  “That’s fine”, Jesse says with a smile. “How about I pick you up tomorrow at seven for our date?”  You nod your head smiling.
Kix
Kix asks you out more or less on accident. It’s been a long day, he’s tired, and all he wants is a relaxing evening with you.
“Hey, Kix, you wanna come to 79s with us?”, Fives, who just popped into the medbay, asks.  Kix shook his head. “I really don’t. If it were up to me I’d spend the evening with some takeout and (Y/N).”  “(Y/N)?”, Jesse follows up.  “They help me relax like no one else and that’s what I need after stitching you idiots up all day”, Kix says, glancing at Fives and Hardcase at his last words.  “Then how about we grab something to eat and spend the evening on my couch?”, you offer.  Everyone turns to you, who had just entered the room. Echo bursts in a second later. “Sorry, I tried to stop her from coming in.”
Kix blushes like crazy, you weren’t supposed to hear that. He tells you as much.
You walk over to where he’s sitting, miraculously the others have disappeared, and place a hand on his shoulder. If it weren’t for the armour covering him you would have loved nothing more than giving him a soothing massage.
“You know what? I’m here because I wanted to ask you out, but I guess you just did that for me.”  He chuckled. “Guess so. Let’s go, I cannot wait for our date.”
Cody
Cody would be so smooth when asking you out, mainly because he got advice from Obi-Wan, who flirts with everyone and could teach him a few good moves.
His tactic is pretending you already agreed, which is why he spent the afternoon transforming his room into a small movie theatre for the two of you, complete with snacks and drinks and a holoprojector.
He then makes his way over to your apartment to actually ask you out. And though he hadn’t been nervous all day, the second you open the door he’s at a loss for words.
“(Y/N), cyare, I was wondering... No, that’s not it... I’m here to ask you... No, wait... Would you like to...” Though you can’t help but find his out of character rambling cute, you want nothing more than to put poor Cody out of his misery.  “Would you care for a glass of water?”, you ask, opening the door further to invite him in.
For some reason the cool water helps him sort out his thoughts and he can finally ask the question he’d prepared earlier.  “Would you like to watch a movie with me tonight?”, he asks, his voice smooth and steady.  For a fraction of a second there was something that might have been disappointment in your eyes, but then you nodded.  “Sure. Why don’t we invite Waxer and Boil as well?”  Cody had been quite sure that you’d agree, but the second part caught him off guard. Maybe he should have been more obvious with his intention.  “Actually, I was hoping it’d be just the two of us.”  You raised an eyebrow.  “Wait a minute, Cody, did you just ask me on a date?”  A shy smile made it’s way on his face, though to his credit he didn’t blush.  “I did.”  He had no idea how it was possible, but the smile on your face was even brighter than his own.  “In that case, yes! I’d love to watch a movie with you.”
Wolffe
The main reason Wolffe was reluctant to ask you out was not nerves, but rather not wanting to admit his feelings, not wanting to admit a weakness. It was actually Plo Koon who, through ambiguous comments, convinced him to just do it.
He didn’t want it to be a big ceremony, he wasn’t the type for big gestures, but that night, as you were sitting at 79s with the Wolfpack and your eyes were glittering in the multicoloured lights and your perfume made its way to Wolffe’s nose, he just had to ask you out before it was too late, before anything happened to either of you or someone else asked you before he did.
And so, when most of the others were scattered across the bar, he asked you if you’d like to get some air with him. He may not be one for big gestures, but he’d be damned if he asked you out in a stuffy bar surrounded by his drunk brothers.
Outside, he realized was not the perfect environment either. There were still drunk clones around and instead of stuffy it was cold, cold enough to make you shiver in your thin clothes and Wolffe wished he had a jacket he could give you.  “I’ll make this quick so you can go back inside. I-”, he stopped himself.  You were suddenly a lot closer than just a few moments ago, he could feel your warm breath on his face and it made him lose all focus.  “Yes, Wolffe?”, you questioned.  He cleared his throat and continued. “I was hoping that you’d like to go on a date with me sometime.”
The atmosphere may not have been perfect, neither were his words, but your smile was and it made up for everything else.  “I don’t know, Commander, what’s in it for me?”, you asked with a raised eyebrow. “I don’t know. Dinner, maybe flowers or chocolate”, he replied, trying his best to hide the sudden insecurity.  You crossed your arms over your chest and sighed. Wolffe knew what was coming next, he knew you’d let him down and it would be awkward. He never should have asked you out.  “You know, I had been hoping you’d say The pleasure of my company or something like that, but I suppose chocolate will do.”  A smirk had made it’s way to your lips and a low chuckled escaped Wolffe’s.  “Is that a yes, mesh’la?”  “It is.”

Bad Batch Preference: How you meet and grow closer together
A/N: I hope people enjoy this and I guess I am back on here. Hello people who still follow me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sergeant Hunter: You were surprisingly a Jedi and not just any Jedi, you were Anakin Skywalker's twin sister. Being the sister of that knucklehead wasn’t easy but if you managed him you could manage everything. Hunter and you met through Cody as the Bad Batch often reports to him and on one of their mission debriefings you walked into the room in full Jedi attire, beaten up from the battle you just came back with a grin on your face. Hunter felt like his heart stopped as your two gazes met and he knew right then and there he wanted to be with you.
For you it wasn’t any different. When you looked into his eyes you immediately felt a connection to him you couldn’t describe even if you tried. Something drew you to him and it made your heart skip a beat. At first you didn’t know if it was the force playing tricks on you or not. And to be honest the face tattoo he had was something that intrigues you and added something to the attraction you felt towards him and you were sure to ask him why he got it.
You two got to know each other when you requested their help on a mission on gathering some intel about something the sepratist were planning. The mission went exceptionally well and you not only grew closer with Hunter but the rest of the Bad Batch as well. You liked them a lot and you felt like they felt the same. It didn’t take long for you to decide that joining them wouldn’t be so bad and you worked better with them than any other troop so it was decided.
Being with them brought something new and exciting to your life and every day you learned more about them and how to maneuver the galaxy than you ever did with the Order. Of course you made sure to learn as much about the sergeant as possible.
Crosshair: The last mission of the Bad Batch went, nicely said, horrible leaving all of them with injuries so it was decided that they would get a medic assigned to them. Neither Crosshair nor the others wanted a reg among them and protested until the supervisor caved in and decided to assign one of the voluntary medics to them. Then in came you, a sunshine in person smiling brightly at all of them introducing yourself as their new medic.
Crosshair absolutely hated you in the beginning, yes you were better than a reg, but he despised your upbeat and innocent attitude from day one. You knew that he disliked you, he made it very clear by telling you to your face, but that didn’t stop you from being nice to him and getting feelings for the sharpshooter.
It took over six months and a reveal about your past during one intense mission that he started to see what was behind your facade and understand you. You all were on a mission to free a Jedi General that was captured a few weeks prior and the planet it brought you to was your old home planet. You begged Hunter to let you stay on the ship for this one and he was ready to leave you there until Crosshair interfered with one of his snarky comments that made your walls come crashing down.
“Excuse me that I do not want to run the risk of seeing my kriffin abusive family again, Crosshair! I spent years trying to get away and I am not about to lose all that kriffin progress because of you asshole!”
None of them has seen you in any shape, way or form angry and you screaming at Crosshair, seething with anger even made him shut up. In the end you stayed on the ship until they came back with the General. It wasn’t until that night that Crosshair came to you and apologized, actually apologized for once, and you two talked it out, paving the way for a future where you two would get along in more ways than you’d expect.
Tech: You two first met through a forum where things about technics and new inventions got discussed. One of your comments caught his eyes because you explained the flaws a new X-Wing model had and how it could be easily fixed. Tech was impressed with your statement and sent you a private message in the forum, starting a discussion between the two of you that lasted for three days. You immediately became friends and chatted every day.
The first time you two met in person was because threats were made against your father, Senator Bail Organa, and because you always tagged along with him he wanted to request protection from the Jedis. You knew that that was your only change and so you told him about how the Bad Batch were the best around and with a bit of prodding, begging and some luck they were assigned to your and your fathers protection.
They protected you for the next three weeks and it was the best three weeks of your life. You spent every single second you could with Tech, getting to know him and ranting about everything that came to your minds. It was a bliss and even though Tech was a bit insecure at first about you being a princess it didn’t hinder the both of you to start a relationship.
Wrecker: Being one of the best inventors and mechanics in the galaxy had its perks but also its downsides, one of them being that when the war came the Republic wanted you in their ranks. They were persistent and the only reason you said yes was so they left you alone, it worked in some ways at least.
You met Wrecker after he and the others came back from a mission where they barely escaped which left the Havoc Marauder half destroyed. You went by them without paying them much mind besides the half giant that was Wrecker which caught your eyes for a moment. Your heart ached seeing the modified omicron-class attack shuttles so ruined and you immediately went to work on it.
It took Wrecker a long time, and some nudges from his brothers, to muster up the courage to talk to you because of your cold and distant behaviour towards them when they first met you, but when he finally did he was pleasantly surprised. You were kind and soft to him and answered every question he asked you. Something about how Wrecker talked to you and how nervous he was in the beginning made your heart immediately melt for him.
Throughout the whole repair process Wrecker would be glued to your side, talking to you about some of the missions they had and crazy stuff that happened. He would also listen to your rambles about your newest inventions and whatnot. When the ship was finally repaired and they left again Wrecker promised to comm you every day which he kept, even if they were in the middle of a battle. It was one of the cutest things ever and it was one thing you loved about him.
This Capt' goes down with her Ship
I’m honestly amazed at how many messages I receive both here and on Twitter that ask me why I ship Obi-Wan with Siri Tachi over Satine Kryze. I guess I’m mostly amazed because I can’t believe people actually care enough to take the time to message me about my character preferences, that’s just really fascinating to me.
But, since I’m getting tired of writing this out in individual messages I thought perhaps a blog would be a good idea so that way I can just reference/link them to it later - it’ll be much easier. So, bear with me while I get a little self indulgent (and Satine stans please don’t come at me, I will explain below how I really have nothing against Obitine).
This is going to be really long, and I’m not expecting anyone to actually read this, but here we go!
I’ll begin by answering questions that are sitting in my inbox:
1. Who the hell is Siri Tachi?? For those who don’t know the character of Siri Tachi, she was a female Jedi who was two years younger than Obi-Wan. She was originally from the Legends young reader book series Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest (written by Jude Watson). She was in many of the same Padawan classes as Obi-Wan even though she was two years his junior because of her advanced skills. She could hold her own against him in a lightsaber duel even as they grew up. She was chosen as an apprentice to Jedi Council Member Adi Gallia at age 11 which was very impressive given how young she was and the fact that a Council Member chose her.
Tumblr media
(I don’t know why she looks like Brittany Spears in this drawing, not my fave)
She did have a hard time fitting in with her peers when she was younger though because she was so focused on her career as a Jedi which didn’t always make her the friendliest person to be around (it was really her masking her insecurities) and it was only after she was paired on several missions with Obi-Wan that they even became friends.
Tumblr media
She and Obi-Wan over the years grew very close and eventually discovered their feelings had crossed the line from friends to something more while on a mission when they were older Padawans (Obi was 18). They had been separated from their masters and nearly died while on that mission. So, before they “died” they each confessed their love to the other, but when it turned out they didn’t actually die they decided they’d wait and figure out what their relationship actually meant once the mission was over - putting duty above their feelings. But Qui-Gon and Yoda intervene before the two of them could have the conversation and the Masters reminded Obi-Wan of his dedication to the Jedi Order. Obi-Wan argued that he and Siri would be able to find a way to be together while still being active Jedi, that maybe they could be an exception to the rule or even change the rule entirely. Both he and Siri did end up choosing their commitment to the Jedi over their relationship in the end, because each of them realized they’d regret not being Jedi more than anything, but it did put a strain on their friendship for many years.
At 23 Siri was secretly knighted and her first solo mission was sent undercover to infiltrate and take down a huge pirate slaver operation and she spent 4 years on that mission, all on her own with limited communication with the Council.
Tumblr media
In order to do this she had to pretend to have a falling out with her Master and “leave” the Order entirely, everyone thought she had fallen to the dark side. Obi-Wan was devastated, and he spent several months looking for her because he refused to believe she’d actually fall. It was also clear that he was heartbroken that she left, especially knowing what they had given up in order to be Jedi. Upon ending the mission she returned to the Jedi and was then often sent on other undercover missions throughout the rest of her career (including one where she and Obi-Wan had to play a royal married couple which was super cute). Her actually being a Jedi Shadow is not official and is a fanfiction creation - but, it’s one that I 100% headcanon because it just makes sense.
Siri was very different when she returned from her long undercover mission, she had lived as a pirate for 4 years and so she was not as uptight and rule bound as she had been in her youth. She began to wear tight unisuits/flight suits instead of the traditional Jedi tunics and she had grown to be a bit more irreverent - even showing up late to Jedi Council summons.  Obi-Wan didn’t seem to mind the change and the two became a formidable pair as Knights and they were sent together (with their Padawans who hated one another) on several missions.
Tumblr media
Obi-Wan and Siri were always written as being equals, never one more powerful than the other. They often shared flirtatious banter (nothing new for Obi-Wan) and they seemed very much in sync on missions that it was clear they shared some kind of bond. They never seemed to let their failed romance stand between them and their duty, and only brought it up once more as adults to admit that they still loved each other, but were content to just be friends because it would be selfish of them to turn their backs on the Jedi simply for their love. Then upon Siri’s untimely death (she of course died in his arms) she told him that she’d always be with him. And he nearly fell to the dark side due to his anger, but stopped himself from killing the man who was responsible for Siri’s death because he knew she’d not want him to fall because of her.
In canon there isn’t much about her (yet), except that Siri is said to be the girl Obi-Wan would hold hands with under the table during mid-day meals which suggests that they had a bit of a secret affair/flirtation for many years.
2. Why don’t you like Satine? This is a bit of a loaded question because even though I tend to write fics centered more on Obi-Wan and Siri’s relationship doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy the character of Satine or that I don’t swoon over their relationship from time to time thanks to some very well written fics ( @mahizli I’m looking your way). I just tend to write Siri more than Satine because I can relate to Siri more as a character, but in truth I also feel Siri and Obi-Wan’s relationship is a bit more well rounded than his and Satine’s
*ducks to avoid things being thrown at her*.
Tumblr media
Satine and Obi-Wan have a beautiful love story, don’t get me wrong. But for me personally I am a little sick of the Romeo & Juliette/star crossed lovers angle. And that’s totally what they are - She’s a Mandalorian, He’s a Jedi, it’s a forbidden love not just because of his code, but because their “families” were mortal enemies. And I guess I’m just not super inspired by it. Not to mention that they met as children (apparently only 15 years old according to canon), confessed their undying love for one another after a year of knowing one another in a life or death situation and then pined for each other for the next 20 years until they were reunited...I just have a very hard time finding this story relatable (and hate to say it, plausible). Not that they couldn’t have felt love for one another as teenagers (especially in that situation), but that they still felt that same level of love 20 years later without ever seeing one another...at least with Siri they still had to interact with one another on a regular basis so it would be harder to push those feelings aside.
The other reason I have a hard time writing Satine and Obi-Wan is because the romantic love they seem to have in TCW is written to be very one sided in my opinion. While Obi-Wan clearly cares for her, and admits to having feelings for her at one time it’s only ever Satine who actually seems to want something with him in the current sense. Which honestly makes their relationship feels a bit cringy to me, it doesn’t feel like it’s on equal footing - and makes it seem like Satine is a bit obsessive (I don’t blame her, it is Obi-Wan after all). This is a similar argument I have about Padme’s character, I feel like we’re presented with these incredibly strong women characters who for whatever reason still fall apart when it comes to love...I think it’s a reflection of men trying to write women and it ends up being a bit of a fantasy (the sexy/badass woman who secretly needs a man to save her). So, to sum up - I really do  love Satine’s character outside of her relationship with Obi-Wan.
Tumblr media
Again, this is just MY interpretation of Satine and Obi-Wan’s relationship...I get other people tend to feel very differently and that’s wonderful!!
I will say, the thing I do like about Obi-Wan and Satine’s relationship and very much appreciate is how it is an opposite parallel to Anakin and Padme’s relationship. And it shows what a Jedi should’ve done - how you can’t have both a commitment to the Jedi Order and a marriage, but you can still care deeply about another person. I do very much appreciate that aspect of their relationship and it’s very well done from that perspective.
3. So, why SiriWan after all these years? Well, I’m drawn to Obi-Wan and Siri’s relationship for several reasons, but mostly because they are written as equals/partners (as I had mentioned above), both have moments where you can see the love they hold for one another - their feelings are very much shared and not one sided, but above all it’s not the main defining factor of their relationship. They are Jedi and friends before anything else, and I love that! It may not be as flashy or maybe even as passionate as say Satine or Cody but to me it’s more full and well rounded. I can also see their relationship growing and changing over the years, they aren’t stuck in one place or in the past.
Tumblr media
I also tend to find the Jedi culture more fascinating than the Mandalorians. I know, I know, I’m a heretic. That’s not to say, again that I don’t think Satine on her own isn’t fascinating, I just am a little tired of Mandalore’s importance in virtually every aspect of Star Wars these days and I feel like there is only so much you can do with Obi-Wan having feelings for a Mandalorian, where as him navigating a relationship with another Jedi is more interesting. The Jedi are allowed to be intimate with people, contrary to popular belief they are allowed to love, they just can’t become possessive/attached - I feel like two Jedi would have an easier time navigating that than someone who wasn’t raised with that same code. I think Siri and Obi-Wan have more opportunities to have a more realistic and adult relationship and I like writing/exploring that.
The other thing I like about Siri and Obi-Wan specifically is the fact that neither ever really considered leaving the Order for the other. They knew how important being a Jedi was to the other, and I think having a love interest that Obi-Wan didn’t consider leaving for is an important distinction.
Tumblr media
Instead he thought they would be able to change the rules/code because he assumed it would be obvious that their love was pure and not an attachment. Now, obviously they both realized later that it was just foolish/young love talking (because I’m sure teenagers have to be extra careful of forming attachments), but what I really adore the concept that Obi-Wan “by the code” Kenobi had loved Siri so much that he’d even remotely consider the idea that he’d want the rules to change for her/them (and Siri “by the code” Tachi felt the same about him). There is something incredibly romantic about that - naïve, but romantic.
I also believe that romantic love doesn’t automatically equal “true love”. I personally feel that Obi-Wan and Siri have a love that is on such a deep level that their relationship doesn’t always have to be romantic. They simply just love one another, in whatever form that takes at any given period in time throughout their lives, sometimes it takes the form of just friends, sometimes lovers, sometimes romantic. And I wish we saw more relationships like that in various media. But I get why we don’t, they are harder to write and less overtly sexy/dramatic.
Tumblr media
Also, when someone says the phrase:
“Forgive me if I still think I know you better than anyone.” (Siri)
And it’s followed immediately with:
“You do”  (Obi-Wan)
My heart just melts, because that to me is love!!
4. So, you actually think Obi-Wan loved both Siri & Satine? Yes, I do...100%. I think they all loved other people at different points in their lives. I personally feel that most of Obi-Wan’s various ships (with exceptions of Master/Padawan ships...sorry, just not my bag) actually happened. I could see a young Obi-Wan having a fling with Quinlan Vos (I doubt they could handle more than that), I could definitely see him have an attraction/affection towards Cody (I don’t think given the power dynamic Obi-Wan would ever allow anything to actually happen between them though), I even believe he and Ventress had a rather confusing and passionate night together (maybe even more than one), I can see him easily having a relationship at one point with Taria Damsin (to which Siri would give him endless crap about because he seems to have a thing for Jedi Shadows). I’m sure he even had a relationship with Annileen on Tatooine to help find some comfort during his exile. To me all of that makes so much more sense than him (and Satine) pining away for one another for 20+ years.
Allowing Obi-Wan to have multiple loves in his life also helps showcase the idea of non-attachment. It’s not that Jedi promote promiscuity - though they won’t judge anyone for it (I see the Jedi very much in the mindset of: it’s your body/your choice) it’s that the idea of attachment means possessing someone, thinking you own someone and also putting that person’s value over others. The idea that Obi-Wan could find love and value in a multitude of lovers to me shows him capable of loving without attachment - He is able to let these people go when the relationship has run its course...it’s very healthy.
Tumblr media
Not to mention that realistically people tend to have multiple relationships and loves throughout their lives. To only ever love one person is incredibly unrealistic, unhealthy and frankly screams attachment to me *cough Anakin, cough*.
In conclusion: If you’re still reading this (did you not have anything better to do with your time???) I do hope you have a bit more of an understanding why I personally like to write Obi-Wan and Siri’s relationship instead of his and Satine’s. Though if you read my fics (thank you if you do) I hope you realize that I try to not make the stories all about their relationship - yes, it pops up here and there, but I try not to make it the focal point. I believe both Obi-Wan and Siri are so much more than just a romance and that’s what I really love writing.
But I raise a glass and toast all of those who prefer to ship Obitine or CodyWan or Ventrobi (or whatever Obi-Wan and Quilan’s ship name is) - I love reading your take on those relationships and I hope you don’t mind if an old SiriWan shipper joins the fun!
Phew, rant over...man, does anyone else have to defend their OTP preferences to strangers?? It’s just so odd to me!
Thanks for reading, and if you’re a Siri, Obi-Wan or SiriWan fan drop me a line - I can seriously talk about them for hours!
i don't know if any of you are familiar with the concept of 'enneagram types.' if you're not, you can check it out here. lots of fun stuff to click around and read about if you're interested in what this even is. but i've been thinking about it in reference to some of our fave sw pals and have decided to do some character study via enneagram. first up: anakin skywalker in all his angsty glory.
Anakin Skywalker
Eight--The Challenger
Basic fear: of being hurt or controlled by others
Basic desire: to protect themselves and their loved ones
Anakin is an eight. Everything for him comes down to power and control. I believe his childhood as a slave is what really impacts this. He lived his entire childhood under the control of another and wanting to get out. Then, he found that freedom and essentially came under the control of something else (this is not to say that the Jedi Order actually functions as a slaver...but I think Anakin perceives it as that on several occasions). After the fall of the Republic, he becomes a slave to Sidious and the Dark Side. I would argue that the only time Anakin is every truly free is in his death, when he makes the completely independent decision to kill the Emperor. That dialogue between Luke and Ani is really telling, in my opinion.
“I’ll not leave you here. I’ve got to save you.”
“You already have, Luke.”
Because that’s all Anakin ever wants, really. He wants to be saved. And he never quite understands that only he can save himself. This power complex is very aligned with an eight. He so desperately wants control...but so easily falls into bondage over and over again.
Eights commonly have a childhood trauma or Moment that “flips a switch” for them. It takes their innocence once and for all and replaces it with a hardness that wasn’t there before. I think a lot of arguments can be made for this. Perhaps it was some unseen moment offscreen prior to The Phantom Menace. Maybe he watched a fellow slave die. Maybe he watched his mother suffer in some tangible way. Maybe it happened between TPM and Attack of the Clones. But for the sake of this analysis, I’ll use the Tusken Raiders as the Moment. We see it affect him in all the ways one of these “loss of innocence” moments for an eight normally does. It’s a game-changer. In canon, it’s Anakin’s first touch of darkness. In the real world, it’s him dealing with insurmountable pain and suffering. Interestingly, we see that this “loss of innocence” directly counters the basic desire of an Eight, as well. Protecting self and loved ones. He fails to do that. He watches the one he loves the MOST die in his arms. Which--for an eight--is the ultimate form of pain. To lose a loved one feels like personal failure. You LET them die. You LET them suffer You could have SAVED them. But you failed. We see Anakin deal with this onslaught of emotions and then...we see him take action.
Eights are a part of the gut triad. This means before they think with their head or feel with their heart, they act with their gut. Their impulse. I don’t think anyone would dare to make the argument that Anakin leads with his head (sorry buddy...but you are Himbo Certified), but I can see arguments for Heart. My only real counter here is that the two greatly influence each other. And we see him ACT in tandem with his feelings. He doesn’t just sit in his emotions and mope. I’ll continue to use the Tusken incident. Immediately, without any hesitation, he acts on his anger. Anger is not a primary emotion, it’s secondary. I’m not in Anakin Skywalker’s head, but as an eight...I feel like I almost see where he’s coming from, even in his worst moments. Doesn’t mean I agree or that I would partake. But I understand (and it hurts me). I see so much fear for him. Fear that he’s not as strong as he wants to be, fear that he wouldn’t be able to protect other loved ones if something like this happened again, fear that he’s weak when it really matters. Like when the time comes to protecting loved ones. That’s why everything spirals so fast with Padmé. He immediately gets put into that fear mindset. That “weak” feeling of “I can’t do it, I can’t save her…..but I have to.” That conversation between the two of them on Mustafar is evident of this. “Love can’t save you, Padmé. Only my new powers can do that.” Because that’s what it comes down to for Anakin. His worth lies on his ability to save himself and the people he loves. That’s why his perception of love becomes very selfish. He begins to care about the act of salvation more than the person them self.
One of my favourite moments is the classic “this is where the fun begins.” It’s such a silly quick moment but it’s so revealing of Anakin’s character. Eights feel adrenaline like no other number. Their vitality is completely based in their ability to turn their raw energy into something GOOD. For example, doing dangerous dives and spinning (because it really is a good trick) for the sake of the Republic. It gives Anakin a sense of “YES! See how good I am? See how I’m using my aggression and strength for good?” Especially important for someone who has committed atrocities and inspired destruction. To turn around and use that energy and skill for good? That’s invaluable. I think that’s a reason Anakin fails to see the hypocrisy of the Republic.
“What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we have been fighting to destroy?”
“I don’t believe that. And you’re sounding like a separatist.”
When Padmé merely questions the point of the war he so immediately snaps back and makes it a personal betrayal. He’s so quick to turn down the slight implication that he’s fighting for the wrong side. Eights are all about sides. All about choosing. Anakin can’t begin to consider that maybe his Side isn’t so altruistic. It would crumble at his very core. This is where the Challenger (the moniker of an eight) comes in. They love to challenge the world around them but absolutely cannot handle when someone else is challenging it in contrast to them. Well...an unhealthy eight anyway. Healthy eights see the importance of contrasting beliefs and the power of refining conversations.
Eights want to ‘leave their mark’ on the world.
“I’m not the Jedi I should be. I want more. And I know I shouldn’t.”
This plays into the ‘deadly sin’ of an eight. Lust. This isn’t explicitly sexual (though I guess it can be, at times). It’s more of a desire for MORE. A need for more. It’s all about that power and control. An eight never quite feels satiated...at least not in their unhealthy state. Which Anakin invariably is in. An eight is always seeking things to satisfy them. Through people and power.They’re not concerned with the actual accomplishment, in the societal standard. Before Anakin is granted a seat on the council, we never see him express a desire to even have it. It seems like that’s completely a Palpatine thing. I can’t help but put myself in Obi-Wan’s shoes there. Seeing Anakin’s overreaction and wondering where it’s coming from. Because Anakin has never seemed like he wants to be on the council. Quite the opposite in fact. His tantrum about being denied the rank of master is really evident of the stake Palpatine has already dug into Anakin’s mind. Ann eight’s desire is personal. They don’t care if they have the top title or the most power from the POV of the world. They worry about their own standards. Which is difficult because we never quite manage to meet our own standards and end up in a lot of disappointment. Anakin holds himself to a hard standard. Obi-Wan, Padmé, and Ahsoka all seem to recognise that in him.
“But be patient, Anakin. It won’t be long before the COuncil makes you a Jedi Master.”
“To be angry is to be human.”
“Maybe, but I have to sort this out on my own. Without the Council and without you.”
These encouragements are so unique because they ground Anakin in a very human way. They hit at his insecurities and remind him it’s okay. He doesn’t have to be all-powerful or perfect. Which they know he needs to hear because he can’t quite recognise these truths on his own. He needs the emotional coddling. Unfortunately, in these moments their words aren’t enough. Each of these conversations is characterised by impending sadness.
Eights are seen as the bravest people. I think this aligns well with what we know of Anakin. He has little to no hesitation when putting his life on the line. He volunteers for the most dangerous missions. Doesn’t bat an eye at horrific scenes. He’s willing to do the hardest and scariest things. He’s brave. He’s determined. When talking about Ahsoka, he says “no one has her kind of determination” to which Plo Koon immediately responds, “Except for you.” But this is such an interesting part of an eight to me because I believe eights are actually the most fearful of any number. Because what they fear is fear itself. They are so horrified at the prospect of being afraid it becomes almost dangerous. They will do whatever they can to mask that fear. Which is what puts a lot of eights into that anger reactionary position. A sort of ‘people can’t know I’m scared if I’m the one scaring others’ sort of mentality. The bravado, the courage–it’s all a facade to hide the fear that eights very uniquely do not feel qualified to experience on even the micro-level. It leads many eights to become dictatorial in the way they love others (which isn’t really love at all in the end). Pushes eights to commit atrocities in word or deed all for what they consider to be the ‘greater good.’ They push and prod at the lines a normal person knows not to cross. Not only do they cross them–they plow through them, hoping that it causes enough of a scene to distract from the fact that they’re just like everyone else. In fact, they’re even more vulnerable because no one has taught them how to exist in a state of need. No one has showed them how to ask for and accept help. Instead, they bottle it all up over long periods of times, releasing small bits in dramatic bursts of energy...until that line is crossed and all bets are off.
The goal of a healthy eight is to find a way to channel the aggression and drive into being the ultimate helper and advocate. Unfortunately, Anakin doesn’t get to this until the very end of his life. His fears guide him down a path of darkness. And we see him mask that fear with anger and hatred over and over again. That’s the way of the Dark Side so it’s no wonder it was so appealing to someone who had already been doing that without proper teachings. Anakin Skywalker had the potential to be one of the greatest forces for good in the galaxy. And for a split second at the end of his life, we see him do just that. It’s all the moments before, though; when he chose fear and anger and lust over and over again. Shoving strength and bravery into the vacancies of emotional competency. Until it all became too much.
Star Wars Sequel Rewrite Ideas Because S o m e Ideas were Interesting (Part 1?)
Keep in mind: I’ve never actually seen the sequels, but I’ve watched the other two trilogies a while ago. This is probably considered a blessing for y’all, but it’s a “curse” for me currently because I have no clear frame of reference. Still, here’s what I’ve got, TL;DR style.
Part 1: The Force Awakens/“The Arrival of the Scavenger”
*Rey’s opening premise about trying to find her family? Good. Keep that in. It lines up with that one theme about family in SW. Maybe put her on a different planet than Possibly-Tatooine, though, if you want to distance from Luke a bit. Given her scrounging around, maybe Corusant?
*Anyway, she finds BB-8 during her scavenging and gets swept up in some Resistance stuff. The Resistance is actually the undercover front lines for the actual government while the First Order is trying to make its rise to power. So… I guess a reverse of the OG and a Prequel callback?
*Leia still leads this, but at least she’s experienced thanks to her time defending the Rebels. She takes Rey under her wing for a bit, sensing Rey’s loneliness and such. You know, becoming a mother figure and all. Almost as if she’s done it before…
*Anyway, Rey gets recommended to lead a few small things alongside Finn, a Clone Trooper gone rogue. They bond over missing/left behind families during whatever breaks they have. Maybe even have some banter in-between defending the main base.
*Cue a Rogue One-like moment where we see Rey informing some unknown recruits about being sent to another base. The reason why I say Rogue One is because this is the Tie-In to Rise of the Resistance at Galaxy’s Edge. Same goes with the Galactic Starcruiser, but that’s next “movie”.
*Now, does Rey still have force powers? Yes, but she’s not a Jedi. In fact, she’s not even sure she wants to be a Jedi. She knows there’s already a bunch of recruits that are Jedi thanks to Batuu’s whole lightsaber-building deal on top of her insecurity about being an orphan.
*So the flip opposite of Luke and Anakin’s origins, I guess?
*(Also, she has stuff like Force Lightning that lean towards Sith/Dark Side things. That isn’t helping her confidence at all.)
*Frustrated by all this stress, she asks Leia what to do. As much as it pains her, the Grand Princess says “There is one who can help train you— Maybe even help you on your real journey. A true master of the Force.” Using whatever fragments of abilities she has, she tracks down someone on some huge Holographic Map. Someone, deep down, she both hoped and didn’t hope to sense.
*She gives the coordinates to Rey, wishes her safe travels, and goes off to tell the news to Finn. Rey, meanwhile, looks at the directions. She scans them with a cold yet concerned expression… Until her eyes catch one detail. Then, a faint smile creeps onto her face. Yes. This person can help, she thinks.
*All right, but what about our boi Kylo Ren/Ben Solo? Well… His backstory is a bit different, but ends the same. TD;DR: He was raised under the stories of his heritage in order to not end up like Anakin. What they didn’t realize is that, thanks to frustrations about his abilities growing ever stronger and having no clue what to do with them, he ended up going to the Dark Side anyway. Not completely like Anakin, thankfully, but he might end up there soon if no one stops him. (Okay, this part’s iffy, but I guess I’ll roll with it for later consistency.)
*Thing is, all these sparse encounters with Rey have intrigued him. Who in the world is she? She’s not on any First Order or New Government records. At least… Under her current name. Soon, this minor inconvenience becomes a problem. A problem he must solve with brute force.
*So, he decides to channel his dad’s knowledge of the solar systems and order Storm Troopers to attack on select areas. Areas he thinks she could be from. Maybe, just maybe, he can reunite her with her parents just so she can get out of his head— Literally and Metaphorically.
*(Sorry, just had to make that joke. Yes, they can still communicate thanks to some unknown mind connection. They’re not even sure how they can do this, since they’re clearly not related by family.)
*Thus, it becomes a game of both cat-and-mouse as well as trying to uncover a mystery or two. Only thing is, will that change next film? Will these two keep their goals, or will their new paths take them in different directions? We’ll have to see.
Oh, and before I forget:
*Captain Phasma and Finn have a side-plot where she turns into his personal bounty hunter. Thankfully, he evades capture but it’s not helping him ease up around his non-clone trooper friends…
*Han actually might not show up in this one? Not because of any tension with Leia or anything, nah. He might be retired from flying the Falcon at this point, though. All those years just wore him out quick.
*Snoke survives this film. Don’t worry if you wanted him betrayed, tho. I’m pretty sure his comeuppance (and “backstory”, I guess) will come soon.
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for this one. If you guys want it, I’ll see if I can rewrite the other two as well. I’ve got a few more ideas in mind.
So, I decided to watch Fate: The Winx Saga after some deliberation (I saw the trailer and it looked cool). As I never watched the original Winx Club, I'm coming into this pretty much blind to the lore, so if you want to know what someone that doesn't have the "it's different from what I wanted" baggage thinks of the show, let's go!
Episode 1 and Episode 2
• Ooh, this is giving me flashbacks to my first day of university... Luckily Pedro is a good soul and saw me just standing there and asked me if I was a freshman (yes), if I was lost (very much so) and if I wanted help (please)
• I can tell the the show wants me to ship these two because meet cute but... I didn't think it was cute. He was kind of rude in the beginning and it wasn't *sparkles* it was small talk. My talk with Pedro was pretty much the same, except he was nicer. Being a decent person doesn't mean romantic attraction, Show, if you want me to ship this you will have to try harder
• Oh, he's the ex
• Something tells me Stella wasn't this bitchy on the original show. I am not here for the female rivalry, specially if it's because of a basic white dude
• I have never related to someone as much as I relate to Terra since I too tend to talk too much, too fast, and overshare to make up for my insecurities and anxiety. My mom is the plant gal though...
• I want a succulent!
• Bloom, who the heck talks on the phone with the speaker turned on in a room full of people you don't know???? Show wants me to believe you're an introvert when you pull this shit???
• I love Aisha
• I also love Musa
• Is a burned one kind of like a werewolf? Where if it scratches you, you turn into one? If that's the case, is there a way to get them conscious again? Like the wolfbane potion in Harry Potter
• I'm gonna pretend everyone is over 18 bacause I can't handle another Riverdale
• ........ everything changed when the fire nation attacked
• I'm sorry but you can't talk to me about the elements and expect me to not think about atla
• Being an empath in high school must suck. All that teenage angst....
• Changeling! Makes sense. My bet is that her father is the leader of the burned ones and the principal is her mom
• I get that she's missing home and normality but her mom was a bitch
• I'm glad they revealed this now and not at the end of the season, when literally everyone would know
• Stella quit being a bitch
• I expected the princess of Solaria to be a fire fairy, not an air one....
• Riven and Beatrix deserve each other
• Protect my gay baby!!
• MAGIC LESSONS
• Bloom needs to meditate and Stella needs to chill
• What kind of human parents name their child Bloom??? Aisha sounds like a human name, not fucking Bloom. I bet it's a white people thing, like Ashleigh
• Stop being mean to Aisha and Terra! They're just trying to help!
• Musa really found the one bitch in this place that doesn't have anxiety and went 👀 huh
• No! Don't use anger! Are you the only kid that never watched A:TLA?? Have you learned nothing from Zuko???
• No! Don't follow the whispery voice in the woods! That's how people get killed in horror movies!
• Oop, that's a lot of bodies
• Something tells me that burning a burned one isn't going to help
• Aisha to the rescue!
• Gross
• SO THERE IS A POTION
• Silva is a really common surname here in Brazil.... We're fairies confirmed
• Oh, they are going to pretend that Sam being Terra's brother is drama worthy huh
• Stella quit being a bitch /rt
• Yes! BOND
• huh
• That's different
Episode 3
• Have I already said that Aisha is the best??
• I still don't get what the specialists are. One the first episode Sky told Bloom "you are a fairy" as if he isn't one, and the only thing I've seen specialists do so far is fight with sticks. What are they doing in magic school?
• So, Silva can't get better until the burned one that infected him is dead? I'm pretty sure there's something like this in vampire or werewolf lore
• Is Silva Sky's dad or something?
• MAGIC LESSONS
• Don't go to the dark side Bloom! Beatrix bad!
• How many headmasters does this school have??
• Oh yeah, this dude is evil too. I forgot he existed
• Uh, do all hetero coupled do cringey shit like that?
• My mom starts talking to me about something she was thinking about as if I have the context ALL THE TIME!! We're all Terra #PowerToTheNerds
• But I'm more of a coffee addict than a tea aficionado
• Oh thank god they are using km
• RIP Silva
• Aaawww suite to the party!
• Okay but grown ups gossiping while being 100% of what the youngsters are trying to hide is my favorite trope ever
• All these pop songs are going to age the show
• Terra that was so awkward omg
• What the fuck Stella???
• How old do fairies get? Like, do they live for centuries?
• Is it bad that I discovered what shotgunning is through a smutty wolfstar fanfic? 😬
• Rosalind? Former headmistress Rosalind?
• Oop, another dead body
• Oop, Silva..... F 😔
• Bloom can't you listen to Aisha for once??? You are going to get yourself killed
• That's a sweater, not armor
• Because that's not creepy at all
• You could at least have phoned a responsible adult before running off into the forest looking for a toasted slender man
• Your suite mates don't qualify as responsible adults but it's better than nothing I guess
• Oh look, a portal to another dimension!
• Look! A responsible adult!!
• Oh, he's still alive
• Oh wait, nevermind
• Did she just Thanos him?
• Hugs!
• I still don't get what the specialists are
• My best friend in high school was adopted so I'm having flashbacks... Her birth parents got in contact after almost two decades of radio silence. It was a very difficult time for her, with lots of different and sometimes opposite emotions about the whole thing. In the end she accepted that whatever happened, happened and that the mom that raised was her real mom, no matter her faults. I hope that Bloom can get to the same conclusion
• Alright, I wasn't expecting Rosalind to be in magic cryogenic coma
• Why can't they meet? Is Rosalind evil or something?
Episode 4
• At least now Bloom is aware that her friends have their own lives and aren't they just to be her sidekicks
• Girls sticking together!
• Still don't get why Musa needs to hide her relationship with Sam.... If I was Terra I would be more upset that my friend was hiding the relationship from me than the relationship itself
• Last episode was Sky's daddy issues, so this one is Stella's mommy issues. And, of course, the whole show is about Bloom's issues (general)
• The Queen of Solaria is named Luna?? Huh
• This episode is also about snooping
Tumblr media
i was asked to make some fic recs of stuff i’ve been reading since tros dropped but since tumblr has a glitch where i can’t add a “read more” cut in asks, i decided to make it a separate post because i have a LOT. all of them are rated E except for like, three lmao and they’re mostly modern au ones with some fix-its thrown in. i’ll put two of my favorites outside of a cut and the rest after it.
(won’t you let me) walk you home from school by somethingdifferent modern au. ongoing. ben and rey are co-workers at a private school. rey as a elementary school art teacher is SO CUTE. her and ben have a slow burn enemies to lovers situation going on and god, what can i say about this fic. one of THE BEST reylo fics i’ve ever read. incredibly in character. you know those fics that are so enthralling that they draw you in and you realize like 3 hours later that you’ve read the whole thing? this fic is one of those stories. it reels you in. and REY. i hate fics that are like, “she’s so plain and mousy and ordinary and lanky” like, NO. i love that this author characterizes her as the vibrant, sweet, radiant person she is. and ben’s deadpan humor in this is amazing. he’s got it so bad for rey but he’s such a self-sabotaging goof. just, god. i can’t stress enough how amazing of a fic this is. a must read. and if you love what we do in the shadows, read somethingdifferent’s cracky wwdits x reylo crossover oneshot - it’s hilarious
a place to go by delia-pavorum (literaryminded) modern au. bit of a slow burn. ben and rey are strangers and accidentally both end up at luke’s cabin during xmas vacation because luke, a fellow teacher at rey’s school lends it to her for the holiday and a certain grumpy tol nephew of his happens to drop by thinking it’s vacant. they get snowed in. [in bill hader’s stefan voice] this fic has everything: bed sharing, an enemies-to lovers dynamic, slow dancing to frank sinatra, snark, british!rey and ben finding her accent adorable, ben reading jane austen to a sick rey, smut, and fluff. another one of the best reylo fics i’ve ever read in the past 5 years i’ve been a shipper. it’s so well written and it made me cry with how moved i was by it. i stayed up all night reading all 8 chapters it was that good.
the man, the stallion, and the wind by voicedimplosives modern au. i love this fic so, so, so much. rey picks up a hitchhiking ben and they have to hang out in her trailer while the winter storm calms down. so fluffy and smutty i love it so much. their characterizations are perfect. definitely a fic that i’m gonna come back to read over and over again.
between two lives by neonheartbeat modern au. rey’s a model and her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and she stays with mechanic ben solo while her car gets worked on. SUCH a good fic. the build up to their relationship is *chefs kiss* and the smuttttt. amazing. and i was not prepared for all the feels.
carve your name upon my heart by TourmalineGreen modern au and 3 chapters. one of the most unique fics i’ve ever read. it actually got me really emotional and i like, hardly ever cry reading fics. rey’s an artist that creates a sculpture (ben) that comes to life. such a beautiful fic, i absolutely adore it.
big dick problems by TourmalineGreen modern au. rey and ben are co-workers at a book store and ben being a kind of aloof person, rey thinks he hates her (she’s wrong ofc asdklfjsd). anyway one day at work she sees that he was browsing the r/bigdickproblems subreddit on his phone aaaand i won’t say more. seriously, go read this. it’s SUCH a good fic, ben & rey are so in character and it’s a good plot.. it’s one of those fics that i’m definitely gonna come back to re-read a bunch of times.
rebel side of heaven by jeeno2 modern au. ben and rey are friends, but i guess they’re more so acquaintances in the same friend group. ben’s a virgin and rey offers to teach him about sex but unbeknownst to her, ben’s got a massive crush on her 😏
tattooed heart by KyloTrashForever modern au. one of the best modern au fics i’ve ever read. i stayed up all night reading it, it was soooo good. just. the smut, the fluff. i can’t recommend it enough. the description: “ Rey Johnson has found herself down on her luck lately. A week long vacation to Hawaii for her best friend’s destination wedding should be just the thing she needs, only her day has been hell. Hell, her year has been hell. When the hot bartender with that fucking mouth makes her an enticing proposition, she finds herself unable to refuse. Besides, it isn’t as if she’ll ever see him again...”
sealed to me by glittergothh canonverse and takes place after tlj. this could serve as a tros fix it tbh because it’s like it’s own movie. i love the plot and ben & rey are so in character. the knights of ren actually play an integral part in this. love the finn/ben interactions.
love like ghosts by Yours_Truly_Commander_Shepard canonverse. my favorite tros fix-it fic so far. features the world between worlds, ezra, ahsoka, and anakin. rey goes back in time to save ben. and the scene where rey visits ben on mustafar 👀🔥 LORD. i LOVE this so much and it was just what i needed to read after the train wreck that was tros.
I've Got You, Babe by crossingwinter modern au. oneshot. a REALLY cute t-rated fic about ben taking care of rey after she gets the flu :’)
charcoal and petals by Hormonal_Trashbag modern au. a really sweet tattoo artist/flower shop worker fic that i really enjoyed! i’m a sucker for this trope because of abigeyedowl’s gorgeous tattoo-artist!ben and florist!rey art tbh
9 Pints by tigbit modern au. ben’s a vampire. oh my god this fic is amazing. it’s still ongoing but some of the best smut i’ve EVER read. a bit of a slow burn but man. it’s so good.
miles from where you are by Mooncactus modern au. i hardly EVER read anything under M but this has to be one of THE best reylo fics i’ve ever read. their characterizations, the slow burn, oh my god. it’s SO good and funny and fluffy. enemies to lovers perfection. the description: “After an argument over Star Wars fandom with a "gatekeeping, entitled monster" with the cryptic username of KyloRen, Rey finds herself stuck in a series of unavoidable video calls.”
saving mr. wanks by LovesBitca8 modern au. oneshot. rey catches ben in the act of uh, wanking off in the men’s restroom lmfaooo. it’s rare when a fic actually makes me like cry of laughter and this fic was hilarious. and the SMUT oh my god. so good.
auld lang syne by KyloTrashForever modern au. oneshot. ben and rey are roommates. ben keeps getting text messages from an unknown number with uh, explicit pictures and he eventually accuses rey of sending them to him ASLKDFJSD. i won’t say more because i don’t wanna spoil it but i love this fic sm.
bliss, balance and birth by crossingwinter canonverse. oneshot. ben teaches their daughter how to read. this is SO cute and just what i needed to read after tros.
gorgeous by Ever-so-reylo (Ever_So_Reylo) modern au. ben and rey are co-workers and they end up having to go on a company retreat. enemies to lovers perfection
caught in the headlights by jeeno2 modern au. twoshot. “Rey Johnson forgets to wear a bra to work. Fortunately, nobody notices. (Except for Ben Solo.)” 😏
transference by fear_of_being_bitten modern au. ongoing. rey is ben’s psychologist so this is definitely a taboo fic but GOD the tension between them is like no other fic i’ve read. ben’s an asshole with this air of bravado about him because he’s trying to cover up his insecurities and rey is having none of his shit no matter how much he tries to push her buttons. it’s so well written and another one of the best reylo fics i’ve read. i’m so eager for each update to the fic. here’s an excerpt:
“So you enjoy controlling powerful women,” Rey repeats, making her voice sound uninterested.  She takes notes, although it’s unlikely she’ll forget a word of what he’s saying.  It gives her an excuse to look away from him.
“I do.  But it’s not the taking of the control that I like.  I’m big enough that I can take whatever I want.”
me when i read that:
Tumblr media
aaaand that’s it for now. i’m still continuing to read fic like every day since i got laid off (thanks covid lmao) so feel free to hit me up in a few weeks or months or whatever and i’ll share more of my fave fics <3
When We Were Young- Chapter 13- An Obitine Story
The difficult part of that promise lay with Tyra Satine. How would she get her daughter to Mandalore? Korkie went back to school with very few words to her, and all he promised was that he wouldn’t tell anyone. Satine felt sick to her stomach. Tristan, who attended the Royal Academy of the Sciences in Sundari, was spending most of his free time with Korkie and his friends. Although, Satine had only found out through the gossip columns. Mara was being trained as a criminal, but she was incredibly witty and quick. Satine decided that she wanted her daughter to have an education, and so granted Mara access to the Library of Lawmakers. She and her master criminal, Bartok was his name, had relocated to Mandalore and would be her eyes in the criminal underworld. Which Satine considered a great advantage, that she could tell no one about. But Tyra Satine, how could she get to her?
Then Padme called, and she knew.
“I’m coming next Tuesday!” cheered the Senator.
“Wonderful,” Satine smiled, “and Padme, can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“Do you know, Master Quinlan Vos?”
“Hm,” Padme obviously tilted her head, “Anakin might.”
“Can you give me Anakin’s number then?
“Why?”
Satine sighed, “There’s more that ties me to the temple than what you know.”
“How? This is a secure line, Satine.”
“Master Vos’ padawan,” Satine swallowed, “her name is Tyra Satine.”
Padme was silent for a moment.
“I’ll give you Anakin’s number, and ask about him for you.”
“Thank you, Padme,” Satine’s fear eased, “you’re a darling.”
“I know, I know,” the Senator grinned, “I can’t wait to see you.”
“Your arrival will be grand, that I promise.”
“Oh well,” Padme sighed, “I guess I’ll have to charm everyone.”
“It’s what you do best, Padme.”
“See you then, Satine.”
Happy with herself, the Duchess began to plan for Padme’s arrival. Her advisors were more than thrilled, Almec however, was slightly cautious.
“A Republic Senator visiting, after we’ve chosen to remain neutral,” he ventured, “wouldn’t that send the wrong message?”
“We’ll invite a member of the Seperatist Senate another time,” Satine assured him, “Padme is what the system needs.”
If anyone was surprised that the Duchess called the Republic’s best diplomat by first name, they didn’t show it.
“Is that all?” Satine asked.
“Yes, Your Grace.” the Prime Minister nodded.
Satine dismissed the meeting.
“Are you worried at all?” Parna asked when she brought in Satine’s afternoon tea.
The Duchess stayed silent.
“About the kids?” Khaami prompted.
“Yes,” Satine admitted with a sigh, “Korkie has been avoiding me.”
“I’m surprised you told them so soon,” Khammi commented, “seventeen years ago you said they would never know.”
Satine opened her mouth to speak, then closed it.
“She met Ben again.” Parna explained.
“Ah, yes,” Khaami leaned back, “the Jedi Knight in shining armor.”
“You know?” Parna squinted.
Khaami smiled, “I was present at the births of both sets of twins.”
“Along with Fesma and a medical droid.” Satine added.
“No pain relievers?” Parna gasped.
“Just some pills.” Satine answered.
Parna gaped.
“Our Duchess is quite the warrior,” Khaami smiled, “in her own way.”
“The she-wolf.” Parna agreed.
Satine sighed and stirred her tea, “I never thought my life would be like this.”
“I don’t think anyone could’ve foreseen what happened.” Parna said sympathetically.
“It is quite unusual.” Khaami added.
“That’s for sure.” Satine rolled her eyes.
Satine’s comm dinged.
“Oh,” the Duchess looked down, “it’s Anakin.”
Khaami tilted her head, “The Senator’s Jedi?”
“Yeah,” Parna explained, “he and Ben are close.”
Satine smiled.
“What is it?”
Satine giggled, “He’s congratulating me on my extensive efforts to undermine the Jedi, how very Mandalorian of me.”
“Ah,” Khaami nodded, “the hero with a strange sense of humor.”
Satine asked about Quinlan Vos and his Padawan.
“They will be accompanying Senator Amidala!” Parna squealed, reading over her lady’s shoulder.
Satine smiled and thanked the Jedi.
“Wait a minute,” Khaami blinked, “Ben isn’t his real name!”
Parna gave her a look.
“Isn’t Master Kenobi on the Jedi Council?” Khaami asked with a frown.
“That’s why no one can find out.” Parna explained.
“Satine,” Khaami sighed, “please tell me you’re not going to have any more children.”
The Duchess laughed, “Khaami, I’m 35 years old, I won’t be having any other children.”
“I’m just making sure, Your Grace.” the lady winked.
Parna smiled, “Where shall we have them meet?”
“The gardens,” Satine clapped, “with a picnic.”
“In full view?”
“They’ll be friends of Korkie’s,” Satine explained, “just here for tea.”
The meeting took place on Sunday, and Quinlan Vos and his Padawan Tyra showed up in one of the Republic’s cruisers. Only, it hovered slightly above the landing pad.
“I’ll pick you up on Tuesday!”
Satine’s heart lurched as Tyra jumped off the ship and struck a perfect landing right next to her.
“Tyra Satine!” she whispered harshly.
Her daughter stood, took the Duchess’ hand, and curtsied.
“You must be Lady Mother.”
Parna giggled on Satine’s right.
“I am.”
Tyra stood and kissed her mother’s cheek, “It’s wonderful to finally meet you, Your Grace.”
“Oh?”
The Padawan pulled a necklace out of her shirt, “I did extensive research on it, that’s how I knew I was Mandalorian.”
“I’m glad you still have that trinket,” Satine looped an arm around Tyra, “it was your grandmother’s.”
Khaami and Parna accompanied Satine and Tyra to the gardens, where Korkie, Tristan, and Mara were waiting.
“Howdy do?” Tyra winked.
Mara burst into laughter, Tristan looked confused, Korkie was horrified.
“Don’t worry,” Tyra sat down on the blanket, “I don’t actually talk like that.”
“Oh,” Tristan bit his lip, embarrassed, “well thank God.”
Tyra snorted, “I have some manners, I’m from the Temple after all.”
“Can I see your weapon?” Korkie perked up.
“Sure!”
“No,” Satine crossed her arms, “definitely not.”
“Why not,” Korkie asked, mirroring Satine’s stance, “Lady Mother?”
“Because,” Satine huffed, “you are the Mandalorian heir, and you shouldn’t touch a Jedi weapon.”
“Oh yeah,” Tyra nodded, “because he’ll definitely burst into flames.”
“Tyra Satine.”
“It’s true, Lady Mother,” Mara piped up, “Korkie can handle himself.”
“I’m seventeen.” Korkie agreed.
“Son,” Satine sighed, “you’d burn a hole through your head if you tried to use a lightsaber.”
“Not if Tyra trained him.” Tristan pointed out.
“Absolutely not!” Satine clutched her pearls.
“Why not?” Korkie asked, smiling wider than Satine had ever seen him smile.
“Because,” Satine stuttered, “because-”
“Perhaps, Your Grace,” Khaami interrupted smoothly, “we should leave the children to their antics and go enjoy a nice cup of tea?”
“A relaxing cup of tea.” Parna added.
Satine relented, “I would enjoy that.”
The Duchess began her walk upstairs, but then turned around sharply.
“No Jedi shenanigans, children.” she warned.
“Of course not,” Tristan grinned in a seated bow, “Lady Mother.”
Slightly frustrated Satine continued on her way upstairs and had Khaami bring a nice platter of tea and sweets up to her personal parlor.
“They love each other already.” Parna smiled.
“They ganged up on me!” Satine huffed, grabbing a cookie.
“That’s what siblings do.” Parna smiled.
“Their obsession with the Jedi though,” Khaami frowned, “that’s concerning.”
“We told them their father is a Jedi.” Satine frowned.
“Yes,” Parna spoke up hopefully, “but they don’t know which Jedi.”
“Let’s hope they don’t figure it out.” Khaami agreed.
“Let’s.” Satine nodded.
After her morning tea, Satine had a meeting with her council.
“Things are running smoothly for Senator Amidala’s visit.” Prime Minister Almec smiled.
“What about these reports of food shortages,” Satine asked, “they are concerning.”
“I agree,” seconded one of her advisors, “we must investigate this problem.”
As more and more agreements to this statement were reiterated, Satine noticed Almec’s knuckles whiten.
“What do you think, Prime Minister?” she asked, suddenly skeptical.
“I think that we should focus on one event at a time,” Prime Minister Almec suggested, “perhaps this should be a problem for after the Senator leaves.”
Satine frowned, if there was one thing she hated, it was corruption, and she now knew that people were willing to lie to her.
“I think we shall keep watch on this problem,” Satine decided, “but I also think we should begin our efforts now.”
“I agree with Her Grace.”
Satine looked around the table, no one disagreed.
“Dismissed.” Satine announced.
Only the Prime Minister stayed back.
“Prime Minister?” Satine questioned, tilting her head.
“I do not think it wise to show the Republic we are weak.” he responded.
“We are only as weak as our insecurities are strong,” Satine stood, “Mandalore stands firm in her position.”
Almec bowed, “Your Grace.”
Parna met Satine at the door.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s just,” Parna sighed, “Tristan has just mind tricked a guard.”
Satine coughed.
“And Korkie,” Parna continued, “Tyra seems to think he’s powerful.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Satine shook her head, “not my Korkie.”
“Come see.” Parna advised.
Instead of the garden where she left them, Satine’s children were at the center of the garden’s maze. Surrounded by a large picnic and floating objects.
The Duchess was furious, “What in the name of Mandalore-”
The flying objects dropped.
Satine raised an eyebrow, “Didn’t I say no Jedi shenanigans?”
“Sorry, Lady Mother,” Tristan smiled, “but I can do mind tricks now!”
Crossing her arms, Satine told her second son to fix the guard. After some pouting, he did.
“Your Grace!”
“Please return to your post,” Satine nodded, “I must speak to my nephew and his friends.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
After he was gone, Satine noticed all the children staring at her.
“What?”
“You called me your nephew.” Korkie said sadly.
Satine shook her head, “That particular guard is not on the list of people who know.”
“Which guards are?” Tyra asked.
“My two head guards know half the story,” Satine clarified, “but you must not tell anyone.”
“Tristan has great balance,” Tyra spoke up, “he should practice lightsaber movements.”
The Duchess’ voice grew cold, “There is no need for that.”
The children looked at each other, surprised.
“Lady Khaami said our father was a powerful Jedi,” Tristan crossed his arms, “why can’t we learn his art?”
“Because he,” Satine stuttered, “he, he doesn’t know about you.”
“We know that, Lady Mother,” Mara spoke, “that’s not a good enough reason.”
Satine let the silence hang.
“Would it be so terrible to assume,” Korkie began, “that our father is a high profile figure?”
“No,” Satine swallowed, “no it would not.”
“And no doubt your reputation,” Tyra frowned, “even at the Temple people are surprised I hail from the Mandalore system.”
“And Mandalore’s dignity.” Tristan added.
“All I ask,” Satine began quietly, “is that if you do anything remotely related to the Jedi, then please do it in secret.”
“Yes, Lady Mother.” Mara nodded.
“We understand, Lady Mother.” Tristan agreed.
Korkie stood and embraced his mother.
“You raised me,” he said, “even though I didn’t know, I would hate to remind you of hard times.”
The Duchess sobbed, “Thank you, Korkie.”
“We won’t practice if it reminds you of our father.” Tyra insisted.
“No, practice,” Satine wiped her eyes, “just don’t tell me about your progress.”
Parna came forward and steadied Satine.
“We have the final touches to prepare for Padme’s visit.”
“Yes,” Satine swallowed, “please children, excuse me.”
The final steps to prepare for Padme’s visit were picking her rooms. Korkie still slept on the same floor as her, and his siblings would be placed in the remaining rooms around him. Which left the lower floor.
“Can we give Padme a room on the lower floor,” Satine asked, “Would she be offended?”
“I cannot say, Your Grace,” responded the palace’s head maid, “she seems sensible, but we do not wish to offend the Republic.”
Parna leaned in close to Satine, “Tyra and Mara can share, and if Tristan bunked with Korkie she could fit.”
The Duchess considered this, she had never shared a room with Bo-Katan even when they were young.
“I hear the Prince’s friends will be staying till Tuesday morning.” stated the head maid.
“Yes,” Satine nodded, “but we will have them share, I’m sure they won’t mind.”
Hesitant, the maid smiled, “Thank you, Your Grace.”
The Duchess arranged for a quiet dinner in a small dining room with her children. Then, she asked the guards if they knew where the Prince and his friends were.
“The ballroom, Your Grace.”
“Thank you.” Satine nodded.
The Duchess of Mandalore was shocked to find her kids wrestling each other on the ballroom floor. Well, it was more like Tyra was teaching her siblings self defense with the added bonus of getting to beat them up.
“It’s alright, Lady Mother,” Mara smiled, seeing the Duchess first, “we’re alright.”
Satine gawked, “Tyra Satine, stop choking your twin brother!”
“I’m not-”
Korkie, who was back to the floor, kneed Tyra in the chin and twisted on top of her.
“Go Korkie!” Tristan cheered.
Satine sighed, “Don’t encourage your brother, Tristan.”
Mara pulled Korkie off of Tyra.
“Come on, I was about to win!”
“No you weren’t,” Tyra stretched, “Tristan, you want to go next?”
Tristan opened his mouth to speak.
“Absolutely not,” Satine crossed her arms, “I have ordered a special dinner and I will not have my children bruised.”
“Dinner,” Mara frowned, “it’s not even four o’clock.”
“Lady Mother,” Tyra’s knit her eyebrows, “that doesn’t make any sense.”
Tristan and Korkie looked at each other.
“Knowing our Lady Mother,” Korkie began, “we will likely have to dress for the occasion.”
“What?”
“Don’t worry,” Tristan grinned, “I’m sure you’ll take kindly to the royal treatment, Tyra.”
“Ha ha.”
“Children,” Satine smiled, “tonight I would like to imagine I raised you myself, you will have to act your birthright.”
“But it’s just us, right?” Mara asked.
“Yes,” Satine nodded, “just us.”
“Korkie,” the Duchess turned, “give Tristan one of your old uniforms. Tyra and Mara shall come with me.”
Parna and Khaami made grand gestures to welcome Tyra Satine and Mara to the Duchess’ royal wardrobe.
Mara gawked, “I’ve never seen anything so fancy before in my life!”
Tyra clapped, “Oh my God, we get to wear these?”
“Yes,” Satine smiled, “pick out a dress.”
Squealing, the Duchess’ daughters ran through the rows of gowns and skirts of their mother’s walk-in closet.
“You’re so stylish, Lady Mother.” Tyra winked.
“Some of these I haven’t worn in years.” Satine confessed.
“I’ve watched some of your speeches,” Mara nodded, “you generally stick to the house colors.”
Satine was humbled, “You’ve watched my speeches?”
Mara blushed, “He was never subtle.”
Satine smiled.
“I like this one!” Tyra smiled, pulling out a salmon pink gown with a satin ivory sash and lace.
“What, Tyra,” Mara asked, “why?”
“We don’t get to play dress up at the temple,” Tyra explained, “and I think I'm gonna love being a secret princess.”
Satine laughed at that.
Mara gasped, “OMG, we should be matching!”
Tyra raised an eyebrow, “You?”
“Criminal trainees need baby lace too!” Mara whined.
Laughing, Satine pulled out a lilac version of the same dress.
“I’ll leave you two to get changed,” Satine beckoned for Khaami, “Lady Khaami will bring the head seamstress to see you.”
“The head seamstress?”
The Duchess grinned, “Alterations of course.”
Mara gasped, Tyra squealed. Khaami winked as she passed them.
“Parna,” Satine turned, “watch the girls while I check on the boys.” “Yes, Your Grace.” the lady smiled.
Satine made her way over to Korkie’s room, where much rustling emanated from within.
“Ow, Tristan-”
“Move over, Korkie.”
“Boys,” Satine smiled sweetly, “will you be done soon?”
“These uniforms are all tight, Lady Mother.” Tristan complained.
“Wear something in pastel blue, then, with white accents,” the Duchess suggested, “it will go with your sisters’ outfits.”
“Yes, Lady Mother.” Korkie agreed.
With a triumphant grin, Satine sauntered off back to her room.
“Mara and Tyra are being fitted in the parlor,” Parna told her, “shall we pick out your dress?”
“Yes,” the Duchess straightened, “I should like my pale yellow dress for this evening.”
Parna clapped, “I know just the one.”
By the time the entire family was dressed for dinner, it was almost time for the meal. Satine took her daughters and met her sons in the hallway.
“You look lovely, boys.” the Duchess smiled, pride in her features.
“We’re matching,” Tristan observed, “I’m sure you planned that, Lady Mother.”
“I most certainly did,” Satine nodded, “now, we will enter in proper form.”
“Huh?”
“Oh, hush, Tyra Satine,” the Duchess waved, “Korkie, take your twin sister on your right arm.”
Korke made a show of walking over to Tyra, jutting out his right arm, and placing Tyra’s left arm through his.
“Tristan, do the same with your twin sister.” Satine ordered.
With a little less grace and a couple hesitations, Tristan did the same.
“Korkie and Tyra will walk behind me,” the Duchess instructed, “and Tristan and Mara, you will follow.”
“Ooh,” Mara grinned, “fancy.”
“You ready?”
“Yes, Lady Mother.” answered a quartet of voices.
Satine lead her children into the private dining room, applauding herself silently as they all gasped.
“What a feast, Lady Mother!” Tyra gasped.
Mara choked back a sob and Satine wrapped her arm around her youngest.
“I’m afraid we’ll forgo servants tonight,” the Duchess explained, “servants and all, but please sit down and serve yourselves.”
Tyra made to sit down, but Korke stopped her.
“Ah, ah, ah,” he smiled, pulling out her chair, “only the best for a princess of Mandalore.”
Delighted, Tyra sat down.
Pulling out Mara’s chair, Tristan asked, “Are you trying to outdo me, Brother?”
Sliding into her chair with ease, Mara grinned up at her mother as Tristan pushed in her chair.
“Who shall pull out Lady Mother’s chair?” Tyra asked, looking to stir up violence.
Korkie and Tristan shared a look before racing over to their mother’s chair.
“How about both of you work together,” Satine suggested with a smile.
Tristan pulled out the chair anyway, stubbing Korkie’s toe.
“Lady Mother.” bowed her oldest.
Mara snorted. Satine sat down.
“Now that we’re all seated,” began the Duchess when everyone was comfortable, “I was hoping you’d all tell me a story about your childhood, a favorite moment, so that I get to know you.”
The children looked around the table.
“While eating of course.” Satine amended.
The Duchess worried that she had asked too much of her children, but then the silence dissipated and they began to serve themselves.
“After I had gotten my lightsaber,” Tyra began with a grin, “the Jedi Masters were supposed to choose a padawan, Master Vos chose me because I told him I had better hair than he did.”
Mara snorted, “Proud at an early age huh, Tyra?”
“He then asked me why I thought so,” Tyra gestured, “and I said because I was Mandalorian. Then I said that I researched my necklace and voila, I had a master.”
“Wow,” Satine shook her head, “that’s not usually how I remember hearing how it goes.”
“Lady Mother,” Tyra rested her chin on her hands, “you know Jedi stories?”
“I’ve known a few Jedi.” Satine nodded.
“Wait,” Mara paused, “isn’t our father-”
“I mean Master Qui-Gon-”
“You knew Master Qui-Gon,” Tyra perked up, “Master Vos says he’s the only one who could rival me for best hair.”
Satine burst into laughter.
“Lady Mother?”
“Tyra Satine,” smiled the Duchess, “you would for sure win that contest.”
“Really?” Tyra perked up.
“Master Qui-Gon once went a week without washing his hair,” Satine smiled at the memory, “it nearly destroyed him.”
Tyra shivered, “Sounds dreadful.”
Korkie sighed, “I now know so much more about you, Tyra.”
Tyra snorted, “Oh please, that wasn’t even the best one.”
“Mara,” Tristan suggested, “why don’t you go next?”
“Ooh,” Mara clapped, setting down her spoon, “how about the time I mind tricked the head of the Coruscanti Crime Ring!”
Satine gaped, “You did what?”
Mara blushed, “Don’t worry, Lady Mother, we’re not allowed back there.”
Satine sighed, head in her hands.
“I’ll go next,” Tristan piped up, “when I was seven I tried bokator for the first time.”
“Teach me?” Korkie asked.
Satine was so startled she coughed on her own spit. Tyra laughed.
“Anyways,” Tristan continued, “I broke a kid’s nose and then proceeded to tell him the process of how the doctors would fix it.”
“You’re such a nerd, Tristan.” Mara teased.
“When I was five,” Korkie began, “I told the head of Clan Saxon that she reminded me of a pooka.”
Satine groaned, “I remember that.”
“You,” Tyra asked, “the perfect manners man?”
“Yeah.”
“He got no dessert for a week,” Satine recounted, “what was it you liked, Korkie?”
The Duke of Sundari grinned, “Those packets with flavored powder and chalk-like sticks.”
“I loved that!” Mara gasped.
“I wasn’t even allowed to have that.” Tristan crossed his arms.
Tyra looked between her siblings, “Did I miss out on something?”
“Definitely.” Satine stated, reaching for her drink.
As dinner progressed, the Duchess felt a happy longing, wishing for this to have always been her life.
“Remember, children,” Satine spoke before dismissing her children, “Senator Amidala is coming on Tuesday.”
“We know, Lady Mother.”
“You’ll have to remain in the background,” Satine advised, “but you’ll meet her later on.”
After bidding her children goodnight, the Duchess went up to her room, sending Khaami to bring nightdresses to her daughters.
“How was it, Your Grace?” Parna asked, untying Satine’s dress.
“Marvelous,” tears sprung to the Duchess’s eyes, “my children are treasures.”
ok and I GET the concept of attachments leading to vulnerability and therefore weakness but to impose that on a CHILD who so desperately needs a family, someone he could bond with, its honestly tragic. and since qui gon isnt there to do it anymore it falls on obi wan, whos basically a kid himself, whos dealt with rejection his whole life, and how can you expect him to provide anything, much less mentor a padawan?? idk i just have so many FEELINGS abt this and can’t put it into proper words lol
okay you know what i think that’s on qui gon because why!!! would you make the decision to rip a child away from his home like that so quickly!!! i get that they were making a movie and thus needed to speed things along for pacing reasons but COME ONNNNN
i feel like if it wasn’t restricted for movie reasons it would have gone down very differently. difference being: hey, maybe we don’t rip anakin away from his mom and leave not only his mom still in slavery but also punt a tiny child directly into a warzone.
hear me out
so assuming qui gon decides not to take anakin with him (at that moment in time because anakin is still going to be heading to the order just in a more meticulous fashion) right after meeting the skywalkers on tattooine, he still needs to get off planet. so he does the whole race thing yadda yadda he gets the engine and they take off
so here’s where it diverges: anakin stays on tattooine and never goes to naboo.
(bro this got so long i had to put it under a cut omfg)
but cindy!! you might say, leaving anakin on tattoine??? stuck in slavery??? how could you!!!
YES, but this is a temporary thing, just stay with me for a second
padme disagrees but relents because qui gon says he’ll come back for the boy when he’s not, you know, neck deep in the middle of tense wartime negotiations that could trigger a full scale onslaught at any moment. that’s no place to bring a small child into no matter how powerful in the force he is.
qui gon heads back to the council, gives his report, and then mentions anakin. mentions his fuckin. midichlorian count. which is still so ridiculous to me oh my god the midichlorian is the powerhouse of the force i GUESS
anyways
the council still disapproves, but qui gon makes the case that even if they don’t believe him about the chosen one thing it’s still dangerous to leave such a powerful force user out there untrained and vulnerable to the stresses and traumas of slavery. what if he turns to the dark side??? he’ll have ample reasons to if he’s stuck there, and the amount of destruction he could unleash by being untrained and powerful is unspeakable!! qui gon, being the master diplomat he is, even if he is constantly butting heads with the council, could probably convince them of the importance of at least meeting the child. hell, it’s not as if they haven’t broken people free from slavery before it’s honestly jedi basic training at this point
so the council agrees on the condition that qui gon is not allowed to personally mentor the boy because as it stands now he’s too close to the situation, too eager which honestly??? might have been a good chunk of the reason why the council was so against it in the first place. qui gon pushed for it too hard and for no real solid reason. and for fuck’s sake qui gon your padawan is right there
obi wan, awkwardly shuffling on his feet like..... yeah i’m here too master
SPEAKING OF OBI WAN
imagine how gutting it must be to hear that your master wants to get rid of you for the newer, younger model. like at this point obi wan is so used to this shit. abandonment? by qui gon??? it’s more likely than you think,
and obi wan’s ALLL ready to be like “yeah okay. i’ll just. go over here then i guess. fuck me for thinking that you respected me as a person or anything lmao right”
and qui gon’s just “ah fuck. i can’t believe i’ve done this”
anyways hand waves qui gon explaining his reasoning to obi wan and saying that he just wants to ensure that the boy gets the training he needs and obi wan understanding but asking if he really thinks he’s ready to be a knight genuinely or if he’s just saying that to get him out of the way and wow that thought actually hurt a bit lol!!! no problem though qui gon whatever you want haha i’ll just... be in pain. over here. ((:
and qui gon being like, “honestly obi wan the only reason you’re not actually knighted is because i cherish your companionship and i don’t want to let you go” because ANAKIN ISN’T THE ONLY ONE WITH ATTACHMENT ISSUES CASE IN POINT: MY MANS JINN
let’s be honest obi wan could’ve been knighted ages ago. the only reason he hasn’t been is because the master dictates when that step should be taken and qui gon wasn’t ready to let his surrogate son go.
anyways RECONCILIATION WHOO kicks that insecurity off of obi wan’s already weary shoulders because that gnarly bit of tension could’ve been avoided so easily with just a simple conversation!! wow!!! communication can do wondrous things who! would! have! known!!!!!
anyways
they get to naboo. how do they beat the trade federation without anakin? the force works in mysterious ways alright it happens they win boom.
now, onto qui gon. in this au qui gon lives because of that healthy bit of communication up there that went down. see that conversation? where they affirm how important they (qui gon and obi wan) are to each other? and how that bond was repaired and confirmed between their leaving coruscant and fighting maul on naboo and thus their harmonious fighting wasn’t impaired by that underlying resentment and betrayal and tension??? TELLING YOUR KIDS THAT YOU LOVE AND RESPECT THEM CAN DO AMAZING THINGS WITH YOUR ABILITY TO COORDINATE WITH THEM IN THE FIELD IMAGINE THAT
coughs
so they fight maul and maul gets turned into maul 1 and maul 2 and qui gon almost gets got but is saved just in time by his padawan who is!! right there with him!!! because qui gon WAITS 5 SECONDS FOR HIM TO CATCH UP so they can F I G H T  T O G E T H E R. qui gon has a permanent limp and an ache in his spine that never really goes away but he’s ALIVE TO SEE THE NEXT SUNRISE BABEY
celebrations happen. and the most important bit of all here: palpatine never meets anakin on naboo.
why would he? anakin’s not fuckin there mate!!! maul wouldn’t even know anything about anakin because qui gon never bothered to take him with them to coruscant and maul was chasing the delegation from naboo, not going hunting for babies in the tatooinian sands
/kicks the palpatine was anakin’s experimental force daddy theory to the curb because. i don’t like it that’s why. suck it dickpatine.
ANAKIN NEVER MEETS PALPATINE!! ripples in the fucking pond babey
qui gon and obi wan ask a boon of padme, that boon being “hey can you give us truly disgusting amounts of money so we can go free those delightful people we had to leave behind on tatooine due to the fact that we were on a time crunch and also ripping people away from a familiar environment without a stable plan of action to provide them a better quality of life is actually called, as the professionals say, a dick move.”
and padme’s like “um fuck yeah here’s some cash let me know how this goes and give anakin and shmi my love”
SO OFF THEY GO TO TATOOINE TO FREE THE SKYWALKERS. shmi tags along to the temple because why wouldn’t she. she wants to see where her son is going to be going. she also pesters qui gon and obi wan constantly about the order and its philosophies and etc. etc. and subsequently gets a crash course in jedi doctrine that anakin also gets to sit in on and you know, educate himself on.
“we want you to know that being a jedi is a choice. being a jedi is a religion unto itself.” they say
“but it’s a set of philosophies that are meant to at its core help others live happy and free lives?” anakin (and shmi) ask
“that’s a very very very large generalization but i guess for the purposes of this conversation that could be seen as true. from a certain point of view,” they respond. qui gon then lets obi wan loose on his musings about the code because the code is simple, and complex in its simplicity, and how the beliefs of the jedi should be taken very seriously because it reflects their connection to the force and by extension the world around them etc. etc.
anakin makes it to the temple. anakin knows (at least a little) what it means to be a jedi. it’s not all light sabers and noble battles and fighting the good fight. it’s about sacrifice and humility and nobility and above all kindness and empathy and loving all things, great and small, and not letting your personal hatreds cloud your judgement even if it takes all your strength to do so
and most importantly to anakin: no attachments.
and that’s what anakin struggles with the most. that never changes. but this time shmi is there to explain it to him, and coming from shmi, the most important person in the world, makes it stick
“it doesn’t mean you love me less,” shmi explains. “it just means you don’t love everyone else less because you love me. it means not loving me to the exclusion of all else. it means love, but for everyone. for everything.”
and then the two jedi reaffirm that it’s a choice. it’s always about choice. you can’t be a jedi without choosing to be one, it’s not something that can be forced. either you believe in the lifestyle, or you don’t. simple as that.
“can i leave if i want to” anakin asks.
“yes. of course you can, any time.” qui gon responds.
“not sure why you would want to though, being a jedi is kind of super cool” obi wan adds, with a wink.
but anakin isn’t a jedi yet. he’s not even an initiate. he doesn’t want to leave his mom, not until he knows she’s safe. he wants to be a jedi he burns with the need to be a jedi, but he’s not sure if he can be a jedi. not the way that was explained to him anyways. but that’s okay because he has the time to decide!!! there are no sith lords breathing down his neck!!! he has two (2) in the flesh examples of what jedi can do, what jedi are, what they can accomplish in the world!!! most of all he has his mother there, supporting him either way!!!
maybe he does go into the order. maybe he does ultimately choose that life for himself. maybe he does manage to untangle himself from the snarls of attachment and apply himself wholeheartedly to the ways of the jedi. he might even succeed this time since palpatine has no fucking CLUE anakin’s even there!!! he’s not nine years old and freshly braided and attached at the hip to a mourning brand new knight, he’s nine years old and trying to figure out how the fuck you levitate off the ground with your legs crossed under you while his crechemates balance things onto his nose!!!
and you know what!! maybe he chooses to leave the order because it’s not for him, but this time he’s got enough stability in his life, in the way that he manages and examines his feelings, that he’s not a threat to himself and those he loves. maybe he becomes a mechanic and lives a nice, simple life with his aging mother and becomes penpals with a pretty girl from naboo. WHO KNOWWWSSS
and that’s important for anakin: knowing that it’s always a choice always his choice and that he never has to have anyone tell him who he can and cannot be because he is his own master now he has full autonomy and the jedi cannot and will not take that away from him
this got so long oh my god i just have so many THOUGHTS
qui gon taking anakin like that in tpm was such a rushed decision my man can you CHILL AND THINK
anyways,,,,, that’s all thank u for coming with me on this journey,,,,,,,
Is Anakin a Mary Sue?
youtube
Now it may shock you to learn this but it turns out that Disney Star Wars is kind of a contentious topic. The fandom's been more or less divided between those who like the sequel trilogy and those who like good movies but both groups spend a great deal of time slinging [ __ ] at each other over every form of social media known to man and truly no battleground is more fiercely contested than the protagonist of each trilogy. People who hate the Disney trilogy tend to criticize Rey for being an overpowered, flawless, perfect, invincible and unrelatable character for whom everything just kind of happens with no real struggle or difficulty a Mary Sue if you will.
Meanwhile supporters of the sequel trilogy are quick to leap to her defense usually with one of two potential counter arguments:  1. You just hate strong women 2. So what if she's op as [ __ ] Anakin Skywalker from the prequels was a Mary Sue too and you don't criticize him. You just hate strong women. This argument was brought into sharp focus for me the other day when I was perusing twitter in search of calm, logical, rational discussion about the merits of the sequel trilogy and I chanced upon this little gem of a comment. Ah yes that famously perfect protagonist who wins everything, always makes the right decisions, has a selfless and compassionate personality, and is universally loved and respected by everyone. Well random twitter [ __ ] as it turns out, I am ready to have that conversation right now. So saddle up y'all because the drinker's here to round up this [ __ ] and put an end to this argument once and for all. Let us journey deep into the world of the Star Wars prequels and see if we can figure out whether Anakin Skywalker really is a Mary Sue.
Now in order to do this, we have to nail down what exactly a Mary Sue is. Well according to the dictionary definition it's a term used to describe a fictional character, usually female, who is seen as too perfect and almost boring for lack of flaws originally written as an idealized version of an author in fanfiction. Now the finer points of what makes a Mary Sue can vary depending on who you talk to but after consulting multiple sources and drawing upon my own experiences as a writer, there's a few common traits that I think most people would generally agree on:
1.      Mary Sues usually possess skills and abilities that are not consistent with their situation and personal history. They can do stuff they shouldn't realistically be able to and they can do it better than anyone else.
2.      They usually possess flawless idealized personalities that no real person could measure up to they never give in to negative emotions like anger, greed, jealousy, selfishness or arrogance.
3.      They're universally loved respected and embraced by every good character they encounter even when there's no logical reason for this to happen.
4.      They never get seriously challenged, fail at anything or get beaten by anyone, success and victory come easily to them.
5.      They always make good decisions and strive to do what's right in any situation so why is this actually a problem.
Well I think the answer should be obvious, Mary Sues are boring as [ __ ]. If a character has got no flaws or weaknesses and never really gets challenged or tested by anything then what is there to get invested in?
It's the flaws and failings of a character that make them interesting in the first place and their struggle to rise above and overcome these flaws that make them so compelling. If these things are missing from a character, then there's nothing for the audience to latch onto or care about. There's nothing to like or root for. That's the essence of a Mary Sue and that's what we're going to be looking at here. So, with that in mind let's see how Anakin stacks up against this list shall we?
Point number one: Being overpowered and having abilities that he shouldn't. Now this more than anything else is what people tend to latch onto when they criticize Anakin and who can blame them really? On the surface it seems pretty ridiculous to see a nine-year-old boy doing stuff like this autopilot but let's put it into a wider context, shall we? When we first meet Anakin in The Phantom Menace, he's a slave living with his mother on Tatooine. He's spent most of his life salvaging junk and using it to make new stuff that can marginally improve their quality of life. As a result, he's become pretty good with technology. Well that makes sense, I guess. He's even applied these technical skills to pod racing where he's been fairly successful despite suffering at least one major crash that we know about. Again, this kind of makes sense when you consider he's strong with the force which would likely give him heightened perception reactions and understanding of the world around him, you know qualities that are important to high performance racing drivers. Anyway, his racing abilities allow the main characters to win an engine part that they need to repair their ship as well as enough money to buy his freedom. Sensing his importance Qui-Gon Jinn takes him under his wing and begins to teach him about the force. Remember when older mentor characters were allowed to teach the protagonist things? I miss that. He also takes part in a space battle that destroys an enemy mothership at the climax of the movie. Now as goofy as this scene is in its execution, it's not actually inconsistent with Anakin’s abilities and experiences. If you've worked around technology vehicles and ships your entire life and you can pilot a racing pod to a high standard then it stands to reason that you could probably operate other types of spacecraft as well, particularly if you have a droid on board to manage most of the ship's systems for you. However, for the sake of argument let's concede the Anakin in The Phantom Menace is indeed more skilled competent and capable than your average person.
So, what kind of effect would this have on a young man from an impoverished background suddenly thrust into a much larger world of power, politics and opportunity? Well that brings me neatly along to point number two: Mary Sues are supposed to have flawless personalities never giving in to anger, jealousy, resentment, vengeance or ambition. All throughout the second and third movies in the prequel trilogy, Anakin displays an increasingly severe set of personality flaws that begin to undermine his position in the world and his relationship with other characters. He's impetuous and hot-headed, frequently rushing into dangerous situations without waiting for backup or considering the risk to himself particularly when someone he cares about is in danger. Keep that one in mind because it'll be important later. He's ambitious but also impatient, feeling like he's been unfairly held back by other characters, particularly Obi-Wan Kenobi, and this resentment causes a growing rift between the two men that eventually spills out into open conflicts. Rather than taking the longer and harder path to wisdom and understanding, Anakin wants everything right away. He also cares deeply about people close to him and this attachment often manifests in explosive bites of anger and jealousy when he feels that they're being threatened like when his mother gets kidnapped and killed by Tusken Raiders, causing Anakin to go on a violent rampage that escalates into wholesale slaughter. Afterwards even he's shocked by what he did or when he believes that Padme has turned against him by Obi-Wan Kenobi, causing him to lash out violently against both of them. By this point he's been totally consumed by uncontrolled jealousy anger resentment and betrayal. All of the emotions that lead to the dark side of the force. The point here is clear: if you [ __ ] with someone he cares about then mercy and compassion go right out the window.
All of his skills, abilities and potential which seemed so overpowered and unnecessary in the first movie in fact serve a very important purpose for his character development. They've generated a sense of superiority, arrogance and overconfidence, and a reluctance to listen to criticism or advice no matter how well intentioned they might be. These are dangerous flaws in his personality all by themselves but combined with his overwhelming emotional attachment to people he cares about it creates a potent cocktail of reckless ambition and deep-seated insecurity that makes him uniquely vulnerable to manipulation something which will later prove disastrous because while Mary Sues are universally loved respected and trusted by everyone, Anakin certainly isn't in the first movie. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu and Yoda are all against training Anakin to become a Jedi despite his obvious potential because they know he's already too old to be inducted. This lack of early discipline in his life would leave a dangerous gap in his personality, making him unpredictable and less able to control his emotions, two factors which are extremely dangerous for Jedi. These misgivings would carry over to the next two movies where Anakin is elevated to the Jedi high council on Palpatine’s orders but the council itself refuses to grant him the rank of master because they feel he hasn't earned it yet. Now a different man would see this as an opportunity to prove himself by working hard and earning their trust eventually winning them over and gaining the recognition he deserves but Anakin takes this as a personal insult from the council which drives a deeper wedge between him and a Jedi order which he believes will never truly respect or accept him. Wow it's almost like Palpatine knew this was going to happen and engineered the whole thing to pull Anakin closer to him portraying himself as the only one who can help Anakin realize his full potential. It's a surprisingly smart piece of characterization that's completely consistent with everything we know about both men. The higher Anakin rises the more it stokes the fire of his ambition and superiority and the more he comes to see anyone who doubts or cautions him as a threat to his success. This arrogance and overconfidence also causes him to test himself against powerful opponents before he's actually ready for them and unlike Mary sues who easily win every battle they have to fight, Anakin’s recklessness causes an escalating series of losses like here where he tries to take on count Dooku all by himself and it ends with Anakin getting his [ __ ] arm sliced off. But his desire for revenge against the man who defeated him ultimately causes a more powerful and better prepared Anakin to execute him in the following movie, again proving his willingness to give into vengeance and anger even against helpless opponents or here in his climactic confrontation with Obi-Wan where his enemy has the advantage but Anakin presses the attack anyway and well I think we know how that turns out. Just as a side note I love how this carries over to Return of the Jedi. See Luke’s taking the high ground here just like Obi-Wan did.
What we have here is a clear pattern of behavior from a man whose ambitions consistently outstrip his abilities. Rather than demonstrating patience and restraint and taking the slower and harder path to lasting wisdom and fulfillment, Anakin’s inherent character flaws cause him to push himself beyond breaking point with increasingly disastrous consequences which brings me neatly along to the final points: whereas Mary Sues consistently make good righteous decisions and always strive to do the correct thing, Anakin on the other hand demonstrates a consistent pattern of mistakes and misjudgments that ultimately cost him everything. As I've already shown you the flaws in his personality are exacerbated by his powers and abilities making him easy prey for a ruthlessly ambitious man that knows exactly how to flatter his ambitions and prey on his weaknesses this eventually causes him to commit terrible crimes like murdering an entire tribe including unarmed civilians murdering children, executing a helpless opponent, helping to kill a jedi master, trying to murder his own wife, trying to kill his mentor and best friend, joining forces with an evil dictator to overthrow the republic, delivering this scene…
What I’m trying to say with all this is that Anakin Skywalker is the very furthest thing from a Mary Sue that you can get. Trying to label him as a Mary Sue for no other reason than because he's good at lots of stuff demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of what a Mary Sue is and also of who Anakin is. The reality is that he's a powerful but deeply flawed man whose unique combination of circumstances and abilities have created a dangerous personality that's vulnerable to manipulation and corruption his greatest strengths ultimately proved to be his most terrible weaknesses with consequences that echo across the entire galaxy. Now I have my own thoughts on the prequel trilogy as a whole and I’d be lying if I said they were great movies but fundamentally I think the story they tell is actually pretty [ __ ] good and I’m just gonna say it: Anakin’s rise to power and fall to the dark side is a damn good piece of character work that Disney would have done well to pay more attention to. Anyway, that's all I’ve got for today. Go away now.
I would argue the prequels are great movies but he makes some very good points. I have seen so many Disney fans claim Anakin is a Mary Sue, when he’s anything but a Mary Sue.
Oh um...how about Luke feeling insecure or anxious about his Jedi training cause he feels he has to live up to his dad’s legacy cause he’s his son and how others around him talk of it. Anakin picks up and notices Luke’s mood and the two talk it out? Thanks! ^^
It takes Anakin by surprise when he realizes why Luke has been in such a funk.
“Mind if I join you?” he asks as he watches his son give the speeder a tune-up.
Luke is growing up fast. Sixteen. A Padawan who is starting to show all the signs of being ready for more.
Except...
“It’s a free planet,” Luke tells him without looking up.
Anakin settles into a stool, fiddling with his cane before he grins at Luke. “So I heard that Snips is taking you on a mission off-planet tomorrow.”
“Mhm.”
“Excited?”
“I guess.”
“Luke.”
Finally the boy looks up at him. Blue eyes wide, as if he’s been caught.
“Luke, I spoke to Ahsoka,” he admits. “I know that you’re feeling a little nervous about the way your training is going.”
Luke huffs and stands up straight, looking away again. “I just...I’ll never be you, Dad. I don’t know how to be. How do I live up to all the things you did?”
“You have to be you, Son,” Anakin says kindly. “And I’m so proud of you.”
“But what if I’m not enough?”
“Of course you’re enough. You’re amazing. And trust me. I wasn’t so great.”
Luke rolls his eyes.
Anakin chuckles softly. “You don’t believe me?”
“No, I don’t bleieve you,” Luke tells him. “Everyone talks about you like you’re this big, amazing hero. How could I ever possible get out from under your shadow?”
Anakin cracks a grin. “By finding out all of the stupid things I did.”
Luke looks deeply confused as his father gets to his feet, beckoning Uncle Obi-Wan into the room.
“Master,” Anakin grins.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan greets him, before turning an patting Luke’s shoulder. “Hello, Luke. I assume this is where I find out why I am here.”
“Oh, it is,” Anakin assures him. “Obi-Wan, I need you to do me a favor.”
Obi-Wan’s eyebrow lifts just slightly. “Yes?”
Anakin takes a breath. “I need you to tell Luke every dumb thing I ever did between the ages of nin and twenty-two.”
Obi-Wan blinks. “In one night? That’s impossible. We’ll be here for days.”
Luke is expecting his father to give his old master an insulted look, but he just chuckles and nods to them both.
“Have fun.”
Obi-Wan smiles at Luke again and sits on the stool where Anakin had once been. “Well. I suppose we should get started.”
“Uncle Obi-Wan?”
“Yes?”
Luke frowns. “What if I’m not as good a Jedi as my father?”
Obi-Wan takes a breath and strokes his beard. “It isn’t about...who is better. Everyone is their own kind of person, Luke. Their own kind of Jedi. That is entirely up to you. Now. Shall we start with your father’s embarrassing lack of bathing habits?”
“Yes, please.”
New Fic: All Five, Part 16(Star Wars)
(Read entire fic on AO3)
The rest of that day was dull, and therefore, long.  In the Temple, Qui-Gon spent most of it trying to find out all he could about the current traffic around the Chancellor's office, while Obi-Wan and Anakin were mostly caught up in other tasks, ones their Master feared wouldn't keep them distracted, knowing them both as well as he did.  Over on Avvarbor Prime, Mace spent it traveling to where his Padawan waited with her pair of charges, and the three of them apparently spent a quiet day in relative safety.
Qui-Gon and Anakin took their lastmeal that night in their quarters. Of course as soon as Qui-Gon said they were going to, Anakin must have guessed what he wanted to talk about.  He was mildly surprised his Padawan didn't launch right into it as soon as they had sat down with their greens and loaf.  Maybe he was finally learning patience.  Or maybe he wanted to not talk about it that badly.
He waited until both their plates were half cleared, before he said, "I know something happened yesterday which you remain troubled about, my Padawan.  What about it is most on your mind?"
"The girl, of course!" It burst out from him, just as Qui-Gon had expected; the question had just been to get him talking.  "I'm wondering where she is right now, if she's even alive...yeah, we can't even know that, can we?  Look, I know we had to walk away, didn't even need Obi-Wan to explain, not really, but..."  He sighed.
"Of course this has brought you pain," said Qui-Gon.  "You would not be a good person if it did not.  This is one of the prices of being a Jedi they don't tell you about until you're paying it.  The guilt, especially when we are aware it is the system that is stopping us, the rules set for us by the Senate, rather than the Force."
"And you object to those, Master?"  Anakin asked, with a hint of a smile.
"Certainly not in their entirety," Qui-Gon had to admit.  "We do want to be of service to the people, after all.  Indeed, if the Senate was a bit more of a reflection of their true will...but it may be the closest we can get."
Anakin hid his disappointment well; Qui-Gon could only faintly sense it.  "There are no easy answers to any of your questions, Padawan," he said to him.  "The best I can tell you is to try to figure out what is right, and to know there may be times when that will not be what you were told to do.  You knew what the right thing to do was yesterday, after all, much as it was a terrible thing to do as well."
A nod from Anakin.  He was now old enough to understand why that wasn't a contradiction in terms, and regret it.  "We shall meditate further on this tonight," he finished.  "I hope that will help you find peace with it."
But they ultimately wouldn't get the chance to.  They were just gathering up the dishes when the comm chimed, and Master Yoda's voice came out, "Master Jinn?  Padawan Skywalker?"
"That's us," said Anakin, with just a little cheek.  Qui-Gon felt oddly proud.
"See you, I must, right away," and there was something odd about his voice.  A line from Master Dooku ran through the head of his former apprentice: "On those occasions when he's obliged to do something he doesn't think is the best idea, he'll sound as impatient as he accuses us of being."
Anakin probably hadn't noticed.  He was at the door even as Qui-Gon said, "We're on our way.  Your interview chamber?"
They did indeed meet Yoda there, sitting next to the far wall so as not to have the ceiling lurking right behind and over Qui-Gon's head, waiting for him to bump into if he tried to move without paying attention.  That at least got him a little more relaxed than his poor Padawan, and he tried to sound casual, as he asked, "So, Master Yoda, to what do we owe the pleasure?"
"Pleasure this may be, or may not be," was the reply, as Yoda turned towards Anakin.  "Word, I have just received, from Chancellor Palpatine.  He wishes to meet with you, Padawan Skywalker.  Alone."
That was a very great demand to make at Anakin's age, even for the Supreme Chancellor.   "What for?" he asked.  "Did he say?"
"Say, he did not, only that he would like if within the next few days, this meeting would be."
"Right now, my schedule's open?"  Anakin asked his Master.
"It can be very easily," Qui-Gon confirmed, but he knew they both would sense his displeasure and wariness.
"Refuse this, you can, Master Qui-Gon," Yoda reminded him.  "He is your Padawan, and even the Chancellor of the Republic cannot meet him, or just cannot meet him alone, if nay, you tell him."
Qui-Gon had never forbidden any of his Padawans to meet with anyone, or even restricted the conditions under which they could.  It went against most of what he believed in in life.  But now he was besieged by a feeling he had never had before, a fear of what would happen to Anakin if he didn't step forward to protect him from those too powerful.
It was because Anakin couldn't get away with refusing himself, he told himself firmly.  That didn't mean the decision couldn't still be his.  Yet he still felt the vague dread as he asked, "What you do want to do, Anakin?  Its not right that you should need me to say no in your stead, but if you don't want this I'll do it."
Anakin didn't answer right away, but just sat there, his uncertainty strong enough for anyone to sense.  After a minute or so, he asked, "What do you think would happen if Master Jinn insisted on coming with me?  Would he agree, or refuse to meet with me at all?"
Yoda closed his eyes, and they could tell he was reaching into the Force, seeing if it would tell him.  Finally he said, "Tricky, Chancellor Palpatine seems.  Possible, it is it, that he will say yes, then attempt to separate you when you arrive."
Master and Padawan then needed only a quick glance at each other to confirm they were both thinking the same thing.  "Tell him I insist on being present," said Qui-Gon.
"Tell him that, I shall," said Master Yoda, and he bowed.  "May the Force be with you two.  Need it, you may."
"Maybe this will even be fun," Anakin commented as they walked back to their own quarters.  "I mean, if we're trying to get the better of the Supreme Chancellor."  It was a weak echo of his younger self, and in spite of everything, Qui-Gon had to smile a little.  They would, at least, feel some very real satisfaction if they pulled it off.
"We shall have to begin preparing for it immediately," he said.   "It is a safe assumption that the exact meeting time will be at the Chancellor's pleasure rather than ours; we might even find ourselves roused for it early tomorrow morning.  Tonight will we have to study the layout of his office and surrounding quarters.  Also, I have a friend there who we'll contact; he may be willing to help, although he will likely ask for favors in returns, ones we may or may not be able to grant."
He also thought that so long as they were going to be in the Chancellor's suite, they might also do some investigating of the other goings-on there, at least if the opportunity provided itself.  It would for him, perhaps, if Palpatine did succeed in separating them.  Although if that was a back-up plan of action, it was probably smarter not to mention to his Padawan that he had it.  There was still too much chance of him taking that the wrong way, hard as Qui-Gon had worked to get him to overcome his insecurities.
Rozitti didn't answer when Qui-Gon first commed him, in his bedroom, while Anakin waited outside.  He was a very busy man.  Anakin looked very curiously at his Master when he came out, but when Qui-Gon said, "He wasn't home," he didn't ask any questions.  The two of them spent two hours going over everything they knew about the entire building, right down to what Anakin happened to know about the electrical system.  ("I got curious about how they worked here on Coruscant after that adventure I went on in the Temple," he explained.) The two of them did meditate a little before Qui-Gon sent Anakin to bed, with him directing his Padawan to focus on what he could do in the immediate future, and let go of what he couldn't do.
A lesson he could've learned better himself, of course.  Obi-Wan was busy that night, helping tutor a young knight of a more nocturnal species, so Qui-Gon could have no companion except his own all too agitated thoughts.  He couldn't let Anakin know how much he, too, had been disturbed and deeply distressed by the thought of that poor woman they couldn't help, much as he had known countless people like her in his life.  He spent extra time in meditation, keeping his mental state through several exhausting katas, which at least allowed him to drift off for a few hours.  But his dreams that night were painful, and when he woke too early, it was just as well, since he needed more meditation to resettle his mind.
By the time Anakin woke, however, Qui-Gon, was more mentally composed.  It helped that they took their first meal with Obi-Wan that morning, though the talk between the three of them that morning was entirely commonplaces.  It was a busy day for both him and Anakin, the one still teaching lessons, and the other still learning them.  Qui-Gon envied them that, wished the Council would let him take on some classes, though he supposed if he couldn't anyway if they did let them go to the Avvarbor System now.
He instead spent the morning doing more research.  There was only so much more left to read about Palpatine and the goings-on of his circle and surroundings.  With that subject exhausted, he went back to reading about dark objects.  He'd found a book about experiments done by now-unknown practitioners, possibly Sith-affiliated, experimenting with ways to travel tens of thousands of light-years within moments by bending and twisting the Force.  They knew it hadn't ended well for most of them, but there were a handful where their exact fate was unknown.   Obviously if any of them had succeeded, the Sith hadn't received their knowledge then, but it was just possible they had somehow come to it, or part of it, now.
When just before lunch he got a comm from Master Yoda, he was pretty sure what it was about even before he answered, "Master?" and got the response:
"Agreed, the Chancellor has.  To meet you both tonight, he wants.  At 2000, or 2100."
"2000, then," said Qui-Gon.  The sooner this all was over with, the better.
2000 Hours Both Master and Padawan were the epitome of proper decorum for the first ten minutes or so they were in the Executive Building.  Master Jinn had made Anakin spend much of the afternoon reviewing all the rules, and Anakin had done it very thoroughly.  He knew how important this all was, after all.
Then they got a few minutes by themselves, when they were left to wait to be called into the Chancellor's office.  Obviously they had to be on camera at that point, so there was only so much they could even say to each other, but Master Jinn still leaned down and said to him, "Remember, Chancellor Palpatine is a very powerful man with maybe more responsibilities than anyone else in the galaxy.  But he is also just another person in the end, to be respected as much as any other, but not seen as all powerful or more than that."
It wasn't Anakin's first time meeting a Supreme Chancellor.   Master Jinn had a couple of times had cause to meet with Valorum, and Anakin had come with him once, when he'd been eight.  Palpatine he'd seen images of, and his main thought had always been that he and Valoum didn't look all that unalike.
He still thought that now, but when Chancellor Palpatine actually stepped out of his office to greet them-which Anakin didn't think Supreme Chancellors usually did-Anakin did note they felt pretty different in the Force.  It wasn't a difference he could even really put words to, but if he'd tried to, he probably would've said it was like Palpatine was just more there.  He could've just been strong in the Force; politicians often were, though thankfully they usually weren't actually Force-sensitive.  But Anakin also had the feeling that there was something important there too he couldn't identify.  He hoped Master Jinn could figure that one out.
Whatever it was, he wasn't sure he liked it.  But that could just be his already being suspicious of the Chancellor and the people around him.  He wasn't even sure how much that was them, and how much that was his being suspicious of everybody nowadays.
"Padawan Anakin Skywalker."  Palpatine's voice was warm and paternal.  "Thank you for coming to see me, and on such short notice.   And you, too, Master Jinn.  I've heard so much about you both.  I suppose you will insist on coming in?"  He didn't sound entirely friendly there.
"I assume you must have something very important to tell my Padawan," said Master Jinn, perfectly placid.  "Something I'll need to know anyway.  This should be easier for both of us if we can just hear it together."
"It's not exactly that," said the Chancellor as he stepped into the audience, but made no further protest when Master and Padawan followed him shoulder to shoulder.  "And in truth, Master Jinn, what I've got to talk about today is something the Jedi Council will be hearing about sooner or later.  I suppose you two might feel the need to tell them about it now, but...I think I will leave that up to your discretion."
Did he know, about Master Jinn and the Council?  Anakin wasn't sure how many people outside the Temple knew about that.  Though if there was any kind of Sith influence in this place, they'd probably be spying on the Council as much as they could.
One way or another, he didn't like the way Palpatine was looking at Master Jinn, like he thought he could get something out of him.    It made Anakin wonder a lot what he might want.  They none of them had time to get tangled up in stupid politics, if it was just that, and if it was worse...well.
"To be honest, this is something I'm very worried to tell the Council about, especially as I fear they may take offense...or worse.   You see, I am starting to think someone in the Order is plotting against me, the Republic's government in general, or both."
He looked at them as if he expected this news to send them both reeling.  To be fair, it would have, if they hadn't already thought far worse could exist within the Temple.
Though Master Jinn probably would have remained easily neutral anyway, as he calmly asked, "And what makes you think that, Chancellor?"
"Call it a combination of whispers I've heard and circumstantial evidence I've seen piling up.  I am aware, of course, of these Sith Lords that have done the Order such damage and even put you in dire conditions once or twice, and I would not expect you to do as much as you did before all that started.  But suddenly I'm finding strange failures on some of my vital diplomatic missions.  Just last week, for instance.  Kit Fisto has always been exemplary in his negotiations with the Dac, but this time he suddenly couldn't get them to stay seated for five minutes even after he spent three weeks trying."
Well, that could potentially be caused by the Sith sabotaging Knight Fisto somehow.  Anakin wished he could ask someone what missions Master Dooku had been even somewhat connected to.
"And after that mission, you see," Palpatine continued, "I found myself with five Senators, two of whom had never showed any sign of caring in the least, coming after me, three of them on the floor of the Senate itself, attacking my very capacity to serve as Chancellor.  And when I looked into them, they all had ties to the Jedi Order somehow."
"Who were they, and how so?"  Master Jinn asked.  "Were all the ties all that significant?"
"Well, one of them, Senator Merks from Duzzkem, is actually married to a failed Initiate, which seems pretty significant to me.  Two more, Senator Larkin Buffe and Avos Fullan, have distant cousins in the Order, though I admit I don't know if theyve ever actually had much to do with them.  The last two, Sborowsky Glitz and Ken-Oilt-Feras Gu, have worked with the Jedi multiple times on various diplomatic matters over the years."
"If their behavior is a coordinated effort against you," said Master Jinn, "then those Jedi and those Senators, or at least their staff, would have to be in a good deal of contact with each other.  How much do you think they could conceal?"
"You would be amazed, Master Jinn.  I know the Senate preaches transparency and letting the people know all we do.  And yes, a good deal of spying and other dodgy monitoring goes on too.  But I'm afraid it's all been going on so long that any Senator who's been on Corurscant for more than a few months has learned how much to let themselves be recorded and how to make sure, for an hour or so at least, that noone will ever watch what they are doing and who they are doing it with.
Of course, I don't pretend to fully know what kind of supervision the Jedi Order puts its members under, or even how much you people tend to just know about each other."  A pause, and maybe all that work Anakin had done trying to learn how to read people was finally paying off, because it hit him that the Chancellor was silently suggesting Master Jinn tell him exactly what supervision there was.
Master Jinn, however, remained silent at first, then asked, "What do you know about their activities?  Quite frankly, Chancellor, if you claimed not to be monitoring them as much as you are allowed, at least these past few weeks..."
"I can give you detailed records on that if you like.  I will note immediately that Senators Fullan and Glitz have found themselves in the Temple District surprisingly often, though only Glitz has actually set foot in it in the past two months-to my knowledge, anyway."
"I'm willing to take that back to the Temple with me.  Of course the moment the Council hears about it, they will want to see everything."  When, of course, there was still the possibility one of them was working for the Sith.
Which was probably why Master Jinn kept a game expression when Palpatine kind of crooned, "Do they really need to hear about it, Master Jedi?  I have heard that you and they have not always agreed on how to handle certain affairs, especially ones that might require a more unorthodox solution."
Yet he responded, "I shall have to tell someone, Chancellor.  A matter such as this I cannot keep to myself.  Not with the implications it has for the entire Order."
Palpatine looked gravely as him, then said, "If you feel you must, I suppose you must."
"Is this why you only wanted to talk to me about this?"  Anakin asked.  And now that he'd had that thought, well, he really hoped it wasn't true.
But Palpatine replied, "I did want to restrict this information as much as possible, yes, though I know we could never have kept you in the dark entirely, Master Jinn.  You see, I was wondering if young Anakin would be willing to get just a little more information for me.   Nothing secret, even, just...hard to obtain if you're not a Jedi.  About the Jedi who have interacted with the Senate recently, and maybe which missions they were sent on, that sort of thing."
"That sounds like a lot of information," said Anakin, to quell his real reaction.  "Don't Jedi and the Senate interact a lot?"
"Indirectly, more often than not.  And I don't necessarily care about every routine diplomatic assignment request, especially ones that were denied anyway.  I think if you start looking over everything, you'll be quick to spot where the more significant interactions are."
"That is no small task you are asking of one Padawan," observed Master Jinn.  "Even if I aid him, it would consume much time for the both of us.  If we were to do this, we would need further help.  How would you feel about potentially bringing in my former Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi into this?  Or Padawan Padme Naberrie?  She's a good friend of Anakin's."
"Hmmmm."  The Chancellor's face didn't say much, so Anakin looked at his Master's instead.  Master Jinn shook his head only slightly, just enough to convey his opinion to his Padawan.  "Naberrie is apprenticed to Master Windu, I believe?"  A stronger shake of the head from Master Jinn.
Anakin decided to ask it:  "Do you not want Master Windu to know?"
"I would think that would be obvious," he chuckled.  "Not that I even suspect him of anything, mind you.  But you must know how he is, especially if you're friends with his Padawan.  Has she not told you how he berated her when she went and offended some Lord on Falsine while exposing two of his manservants for secretly working for his longtime rival, and when as I understand it, there's a chance that this saved the negotiations to end the civil war.  He wasn't happy with her the time she ran out on a meeting to help put out a building on fire on Morgos Prime either.  And then there was the time..."
"We get the point," said Master Jinn, and he was now sounding openly displeased, but meanwhile Anakin was reeling, because no, Padm hadn't told him about any of that.  "But I still do not think it likely the two of us could do this alone.  At the very least, I know Obi-Wan to be free of any overbearing influences; even I haven't been one in his life for years now.  If I was to tell anyone other than my current Padawan here, it would be him."
"If you feel you must, then," sighed Palpatine.  "Shall we nonetheless keep this to the four of us for the time being?"
"Very well," said Master Jinn, and Anakin nodded too.
They didn't get the chance to do any real snooping.  Barely had they stepped out the office when the guards were right there, making it clear they were to remove themselves immediately.  Honestly, Anakin was a little relieved.  He was still thinking more about what he'd just learned about Master Windu and Padme.
It was still the main thing occupying his mind as he and his Master headed back for the Temple.  He didn't even pay much attention to his surroundings as they went, at least until they were nearly there, and Master Jinn commented, "You look at the Temple from the outside, you really don't see that much of it, all things considered.  You see an outward structure, spires that have relatively little happen in them, a grand entrance, and a few more ways in if you look closely enough, and walls that go down far lower than most of this planet's inhabitants will ever travel.
I don't think most of the inhabitants will ever have any idea that we're having any special trouble right now either," he continued, as they disembarked and headed up the steps inside.  "They never know all the trouble and complications the Jedi Order suffers from.  They don't want to, and the Order doesn't want them to either.  Of course there's no keeping it from the galaxy when we get openly attacked, but I don't know how much of the Order, even, knows of the rest of it.  Even rumors only get out about so much, and then of course they're not always believed."
"That sounds like it's all true all the time," Anakin couldn't help but remark.  "And not just about big scary things that where Jedi who do know about them know they have to put a stop to them, but also things where nobody does anything."
"You're right about that, Ani," said Master Jinn.  "I daresay there are even many things even each of us hasn't noticed, much as we know about these big important things currently going on.  We should keep that in mind."
Not too long ago, the thought of Master Jinn being oblivious to anything would've seemed absurd to his Padawan.  But he was pretty sure he'd missed the obvious possibility of his own Master being the Sith, because surely if he had seen it, he would've also realized that Anakin, too, had seen it, and thus sat him down to discuss it by now.  It left Anakin both thinking he really needed to point it out, and feeling like he just couldn't, though he supposed if Obi-Wan or Padme said they should do it, he would.
And now he had to think he might have missed a thing or two about his longtime friend Mace Windu, that his good opinion didn't necessarily mean there wasn't anything seriously wrong with him.  That he didn't really know how he truly treated Padme.  Maybe nobody really knew how a Master treated a Padawan besides the Master and Padawan themselves.  Though he now wanted to talk to Padme about it, at least a little.
Give Me Love
Chapter Ten
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
“Master,” Anakin faltered on his way to the piloting chair. His eyes lingered on you for a long moment, unreadable. “I was wondering where you’d run off to after Grievous fled. Looks like you’ve earned yourself another vacation.”
Grievous had thrown him off a building? You’d heard legends about how awful the part-human mostly-droid General was, but you’d never been at the same battle as him before. A small part of you wished to see if the stories people told about him were true-- if he really was the feared Jedi-killer he was known for being all across the galaxy.
“That won’t be necessary this time,” Kenobi was thankful for the banter. It gave him an excuse to get his mind off the searing pain in his arm. “Thankfully, I have Y/n here to fix me up good as new.”
“You’re right. She is extremely capable, isn’t she?”
His eyes twinkled, just slightly so that only you could catch it. You smiled, chest blooming with warmth as your fears were all washed away. Things weren’t different because he’d been gone for so long. He still cared for you, the same as you cared for him. The war couldn’t change that.
“I would trust no one more with my saber arm,” Kenobi grunted again as you began to wrap gauze around his shoulder, fitting it into a makeshift sling.
“Enough flatter,” you hushed them both, though the smile was evident on your face. “Keep this ice on your shoulder and take it off if it goes numb. And don’t move too much-- we won’t know if you broke a bone until we get you x-rayed.”
You let him take over holding the ice pack to his shoulder, reaching into your medcase for some painkillers. You were scraping the bottom of the bottle, honestly surprised you even had any left to spare.
“Lucky you, you get the last two.”
Kenobi grunted in an attempt to laugh, and swallowed the pills you gave him. After waving off your attempts to get him to lie down somewhere, he stood with a groan and braced himself on the back of Anakin’s piloting chair. He began to heckle him, trying to kick him off so you could have a look at his head.
“What’s wrong with your head?” Your heart stuttered in your chest. You had seen a trickle of blood on his cheek, but that was it.
“It’s nothing,” Anakin growled at Obi-Wan, but gave his seat up anyway so the injured man could sit. He pressed a few more buttons on the piloting interface, putting the ship on autopilot as he stepped away. “Y/n, I’m fine.”
You were already pushing him by the shoulders to sit on the chair Obi-Wan had previously been occupying. He sat with a huff, crossing his arms childishly as you turned his face in your hands.
“See?” he mumbled. “Nothing to worry about.”
His forehead had been gashed open, from the top of his hairline to the tip of his eyebrow. Your blood began to beat thicker in your veins, the panic causing your stomach to knot as you got to work dabbing the blood away with some alcohol cloths. It looked worse than it was-- the cut wasn’t deep enough to require stitches, but it had bled a lot. Head wounds always do.
He winced slightly as you cleaned the wound, the half-second of pain crumpling his face causing your movements to freeze.
“I’m sorry,” you stroked his jaw with your other hand, the one that was holding his face steady. You hoped it would distract him from the sting.
Those blue eyes stared at you the entire time, unperturbed. “It’s okay, really. I’ve had worse.”
You assumed he was right. If this scratch was all he’d come out with after weeks on the battlefield, he was either really lucky or really skilled. You guessed it was both. The evidence of less fortunate encounters rested on his right thigh, clad in a leather-buckled glove. You couldn’t even imagine what that pain had been like.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” you said this quietly, so Obi-Wan wouldn’t hear. Anakin brought his flesh arm up to hold your hand to his face, closing his eyes and relishing in the feel of your soft, smooth skin. He had desperately missed your touch, your voice, those steely eyes and that gentle strength. After so long wishing you were there to curl up beside him in the off chance he got to rest, you were finally here. Now, he was going to be selfish and make up for that lost time.
“We’ll be right back,” Anakin called to Obi-Wan with his eyes still closed, hand still holding your palm against his cheek. “Y/n’s going to come to engineering with me to help repair my arm.”
“Your arm? You mean the metal one? I didn’t know it was damaged.”
“Just a little waterlogged. Shouldn’t take too long… or maybe it will. We’ll see.”
Anakin stood, the tips of his fingers tickling yours. He led you out of the room, through the halls of the cruiser, slipping into an unoccupied resting room and slamming the lock on it.
“If you’re expecting me to know how to help you with your arm, you are very mistaken,” you admitted. “I know nothing about mechanics.”
Anakin blinked at you, and then laughed. That glorious, glorious laugh. His arms fell to his waist, where he unclasped his belt and then discarded it on the desk. His tabards came next, and then the robes underneath. You ogled him as he stripped, a steady flame rising to your cheeks, thawing out the weeks of grey-nothingness.
“Umm.. Anakin.. what are you doing?”
It was suddenly very hard to swallow as his bare middle was exposed to you, rippling with muscle. You wanted to reach out and touch him, but you were frozen in your spot, unable to do anything but stare.
“I’m getting out of these wet clothes so I can properly hold you,” he explained, bending down to dig through the drawers underneath the metal cot. He turned to eye you up and down, shamelessly lingering on every inch of your body. “I suggest you do the same.”
“Huh?” You looked down, seeing the blood stains splattered all over you. “Oh.”
He was pulling a loose-fitting recreational shirt over his head, the same kind that was supplied in all resting rooms for people to wear if they wanted to sleep in something more comfortable. You were still rooted in your spot, forcing yourself to gather enough wits to unzip your field suit.
All you were wearing underneath was a black undersuit, tight enough to leave little to the imagination. It was meant to keep you warm and wick away moisture, not to be seen in by any incredibly sexy Jedi Knights. Your heart hammered in your chest, skin beginning to sweat as his eyes probed into you.
“You need help unzipping?”
“Uh… I got it,” your fingers snapped to your zipper, now that he was watching you, you didn’t want to be a fumbling idiot.
You were glad for when he seemed to become enamored by the state of his clothes, and you knew it was for your sake. Still, it did little to calm the pounding of your heart as the suit dropped to your ankles, every inch of your black-spandex clad body now available to his eyes.
Get it together. Your chest was visibly moving up and down as you fought to control your breathing, almost panting with anxiety. It’s not like you were naked. What a fucking virgin.
He turned from his pile of clothes, those blue eyes making no effort to hide the way they scanned you up and down. All you could do was stand there at his mercy, burning under that stare.
You expected him to frown. To snarl and pull away and tell you to get dressed again. How disgusted, he should be, you thought. How appalled.
You knew you didn’t have the best body. You’d been to enough nightclubs, seen enough people naked in your workstation, watched enough programs on the holonet to know that. You had always wanted to be like Ahsoka and Sabè— they were slim and toned, long and graceful. Their cheeks were sharp, their fingers elegant, and waists tiny. Your thoughts turned to Padme— his past lover— horrifying you further.
You were nothing like her.
That tiny frame, the beautiful face, and the perfect body. She was so smart, so important, and shaped so womanly. You were nothing to compare.
How could he even stand to look at you?
“Okay, I guess I’ll come to you then,” that silky voice teased, and suddenly you were wrapped in a pair of big, strong arms. It took a moment for your breath to return to your lungs before you realized he hadn’t pushed you away, and instead he was clutching you to his body like a starving man.
“I missed you,” he breathed into your ear, cementing this reality. Your body erupted in a flurry of butterflies, warming you from the inside out.
He didn’t care. He didn’t care. He still liked you. He missed you. Even after seeing your body like this.
“I missed you, too,” you returned his words with emotion thickening your voice, bringing your arms up to wrap around him as well. He sighed at the feeling of your arms on his back, melting further into your neck.
“Wanna move this to the bed?”
He did most of the work shuffling your embrace onto the metal cot, lying down and pulling you so that you were on top of him. You were beginning to think you actually just had a heart condition, because it was beating out of rhythm constantly now, your pulse spiking and temperature rising at this new position.
You loved it.
He was hard, and warm, and strong beneath you. You were able to lay your head on his chest, stare at the exposed skin of his neck as he rested his chin on your head. Your legs slotted between his, so long in comparison to yours, while his arms secured you to his body around your back.
You’ve never felt safer in your entire life.
Still… you couldn’t help but wonder. Were you crushing him? Was he uncomfortable? What if he was and he was just too polite to make you get off? These thoughts caused you to tense up in his arms, suddenly rigid with fright.
“What’s wrong?” He caught onto your worries immediately. His hand smoothed up and down your back, hoping to soothe your tense muscles.
Maker, you were sick of being the insecure one in this relationship. You wanted nothing more to lie on the man you adored’s chest. Anyone else could do it. Why couldn’t you?
Relax. You hissed at yourself. Relax relax relax relax relax—
“Am I making you uncomfortable again?” The pieces clicked in his head, and the brush of his hand against your back stopped. “I’m moving too fast, aren’t I? I’m sorry, I should have asked—“
“No.”
You wiggled your body, wordlessly begging him to resume his motions. You clutched tighter to his shoulders, dug your head deeper into chest, even turned to plant a small, lingering kiss to his collarbone.
“You’re fine. I’m fine. We’re okay.”
“Yeah?” The smile was evident in his voice.
“Yes.”
You could never ask someone to make more of an effort to make you feel comfortable around them than Anakin did. And he did it with no price held over your head, no expectations, no pressures. If your timid nature put him off, he never let you see it. Honestly, you were surprised he was still here. Any other guy, you wholeheartedly believed, would be running in the other direction when they realized you couldn’t even hold eye contact with them for longer than 5 seconds.
But this shyness— it was exclusive to Anakin. You wouldn’t be this way with anyone else, and it frustrated you to no end.
The least you could do was prove that his patience was paying off, and take a leap yourself.
You planted your hands on either side of his body, pushing yourself up so that you were hovering right over his face. Your knees followed, holding your weight as you sat yourself onto his lap.
Scandalous, for the amount of clothes you were wearing.
A surge of confidence ran through you at the surprise that crossed his features. His eyes were wide, confused, as you took his face in your hands, brushing his hair back from his forehead.
This was your domain. You had always been the mynx of the group, luring men in and then leaving them cold. You loved the power it gave you, the ability to promise everything and then take it all away. It left them yearning for you, begging for you. And you loved it.
Sabè and Ahsoka were entertained to no end, watching you string along guys all night just to leave them hanging by the end. It was all a game to you, the flirting and teasing and wooing. You loved to feel needed, to feel wanted, but you never actually planned to do anything more with them.
So when the night ended, and you wanted to go home, you would break the game off and leave them feeling cold, and angry, and cheated. That’s when you’d get cussed out by egotistical whiny men, demeaned and degraded until their little hearts felt satisfied. To be fair, you never promised that anything would happen. It was simple flirting. It was completely on them that they expected things to go any further than that.
That’s why when Anakin came around, you felt like you had been run over by a speeder. He was the only one capable of making you feel like a bug next to him. Every moment he had you tripping and stumbling, your heart stuttering out of time, your cheeks burning with bashfulness, you hated yourself. How could you let one man have that kind of effect on you? It was pathetic.
But now, you were determined to get a little part of your old self back. You wanted to feel in control again, to have that power. He was just a man, after all, and most men were the same. You just needed to dangle, and they’d be all over you.
You continued to smooth his bangs away with the tip of your finger, ignoring the adorable look of confusion he had on his face. Actually, he seemed to really be enjoying himself despite not understanding where this was coming from, so much that his eyes were closing and he was thinking about maybe taking a little nap.
With his eyes closed, it was easier to lean your face in further. Your eyes zeroed in on those perfect pink lips, so full and inviting and soft, even after weeks of brutal combat. You wondered how they would feel on your own, how he would respond to you kissing him. You could imagine the way he might sigh and cup your face, pulling you closer and kissing you deeper. Sharp pangs of longing twisted your stomach into knots.
Anakin could feel your soft breath on his lips. His heart thrummed in his chest, fingers tightening on your waist. Were you going to—?
He was ready for it, no matter what it was.
Just as he was sure you were going to press your lips against his, you pulled away, planting a teasing kiss to his cheek instead. With no explanation, you fit your head back onto his shoulder, lying down against his body again.
What was that all about?
He opened his eyes, glancing down to see you resting with your head buried in your neck. You were like a kitten, breathing quickly and softly, a small smile curling your lips.
He dismissed the thoughts to analyze for another time. Right now, his body ached and his head throbbed. Your figure was soft and warm against his, and your calming presence was making his eyelids grow heavy. He decided to take your lead, and followed you off to sleep.
> TAGLIST IS OPEN :D if you want to know when the next chapters come out, ask me to be add in the taglist.
> A/N: hi!!!! So, I’m quite proud of this chapter myself - it is a very “relationship building” chapter, I hope you guys don’t find it boring, but I believe that: we are all Star Wars fans, c’mon, so I guess it won’t be that boring afterwards.I gotta say, all the information that I got to write this chapter, I searched on Wookiepedia, because a lot of names and stuff I didn’t remember right, so I hope Wookiepedia wasn’t wrong and everything is alright. Also, I must give credit to my bf, he was the one that got me into star wars and also was the one that helped me the most with this chapter (he basically forced me to write this chapter while I was procrastinating lmao), he was the one to put 1+1 together, and honestly? genius, I truly believe in all that, not only for the fanfic, but for the entire star wars saga. I reaaaaaally hope you guys like it, and please please, comment about it (me and him are sooooo excited to hear what you guys think!!) A little late but May the 4th Be with You. And sorry if there’s any typos or grammar mistakes. ENJOY!
“Do you trust me?” Kylo suddenly asked, ignoring your previous question.
           “I believe I’ve answered this question many times before” you replied with half a smile.
           “I want to show you something” he said a bit unsure about his own words and your curiosity flourished, you just nodded agreeing. “Follow me” he walked in the hallway towards the place you went before his arrival. You walked a little bit behind of him, almost by his side, seeing the same walls you had saw little time ago. He was silent for a while and you felt yourself a little uneasy. What was he thinking?
           “Do you know the history of this building?” he asked you, casually. You actually knew a little bit about it, you remembered Master Luke talking about rebuilding it after being abandoned during the Empire.
           “Not really” you lied.
           “I think you know more than you tell” he said now stopping in the middle of the hall.
           “What you mean?” you asked trying to hide your insecurity.
           “You said you felt something in here, that’s why you came here.”
           “Yes” you agreed.
           “Do you feel what’s in here, (Y/N)?” he approached you, his words came out almost as a whisper.
           “Yes” you sighed, closing your eyes.
           “What is it?” his voice was smooth and almost gentle.
           “I don’t really know” you were being honest, you never felt it before, you knew it was the Force, but it was different. “It’s… so strong.”
           “What is it?” he repeated the question, calmly.
           “It’s not light. It’s not darkness. But at the same time… I can feel both things.” With your eyes shut you were being honest at each word you were saying, for a moment you almost forgot about pretending to have no knowledge, because you wanted so deeply to discover what was that that surrounded the Temple. Kylo stood there, watching you, waiting for your answer.
           You opened your eyes and heard Kylo’s voice saying “look around” but you never saw those words coming out of his mouth, it was almost like they were in your head. Looking around you started to notice things that you hadn’t notice before, but you had felt: marks on the walls, made by blasters and lightsabers. A hole here and there and blood. Kylo’s presence fades away slowly and you suddenly see yourself alone in the middle of the hall. Oh, the same screams than before where there again, louder and louder. You covered your ears trying to block you from hearing the screams, the crying for help, you wanted to scream too, it was too painful.
           Suddenly it stopped and all that left was a weird feeling. You wanted to change everything, you felt like not running anymore, the reality was killing you because it felt like your fault.
           “Regret.” You said aloud. Kylo was still there waiting for you to answer, you were once again seeing yourself in his company. He stared you, turned his back and kept walking, you followed.
           “Anakin Skywalker was the one to kill the jedis that were in the Temple during the execution of Order 66.” You knew exactly what he was talking about, but you expressed yourself as confused to him.
           "Order 66 was one of the contingency orders that the clone troopers of the Republic Army were trained to obey without hesitation. This order, specifically, branded members of the Jedi Order as traitors to the Republic and called for their immediate execution without question. It marked the beginning of the Galactic Empire.” He made a pause. “Most of the jedi were in missions at the moment. Not many of them survived. The ones in here were the padawans… Children. It was the end of the Jedi Order.”
           “Anakin is…” you started but he didn’t let you complete.
           “Darth Vader. My grandfather, you know.” You slightly nodded. “You may think I have Vader’s mask in my chambers because I want to be like him.” Your eyes opened wide.
           I know you have been in my chambers” he stated. “No one enters there without my knowledge.” You bite your lip a little uneasy, feeling anxious.
           “I’m sorry, I didn’t know” you said.
           “I know. But I also wanted you to find it there, to see if I could trust you.”
           “And can you?” he didn’t answer.
           “I wanted to be like him… for a while. I wanted to be better and greater. That is why I heard Snoke. But the thing is… he was the Chosen One.” And he stopped walking. You two were right outside a library, hadn’t enter it yet.
           “A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored” he proclaimed. “That was a Jedi prophecy.”
           “Well, clearly it was wrong.” You cockily said, crossing your arms and waiting for Kylo’s explanation.
           “You might think that the balance in the Force would be the destruction of the Sith, and the Jedi, the light, would prevail, but you’re wrong. Both Jedi and Sith should’ve fell and they did… Until, of course, Luke thought it was a good idea to bring them back.”
           “And you destroyed it.”
           “Yeah. By the time I was just full of anger, listening to Snoke and thinking that the Dark Side was the way.”
           “And isn’t it?”
           “Oh, (Y/N)… It’s just so much more. The Dark Side is powerful. So is the Light. Why should I stick to just one side? The Sith used their emotions… hate, anger, greed… for their search for power. The Jedi supposedly just used their calm, for their search for knowledge.”
           “Why you say supposedly?”
           “We will get there… The point is: Sith and Jedi must be left in the past. Power is just as important as knowledge. And I shall use whatever suits me better.”
           “You’re just an ambitious brat.” You angrily stated.
           “Perhaps.” He looked around. “Let people think I’m a spoiled child that has no idea what is doing and just wants to rule everything. I don’t care what they think.”
           “You’re the Supreme Leader though.”
           “It’s power. Darth Vader were chained to the Emperor, he couldn’t put his vision in the Galaxy. He had no option though, what else could he do besides obeying Palpatine? Anakin gave up on everything because he lost everything he cared the most, and he knew the Jedi Order was wrong. It is his regret that you feel.”
           “Why did he regret? That doesn’t make sense.”
           “He didn’t lose everything. He had their children, you know. That’s why he defeated the Emperor and saved Luke. He did it at the end: the balance in the Force was restored. He ended the Jedi… and the Sith.”
           “Not really, because here you are, with a Sith saber and name… whatever.”
           “That is Luke’s fault. He brought the Jedi back – and his biggest mistake was to make it the way it was before. And Anakin wasn’t the only one to regret his actions, you know.” He looked away, a little lost in his own thoughts and memories.
           “I still don’t get it.” He ignored you.
           “I want to finish what Vader started. Change the Galaxy. Do it the right way.”
           “Don’t you think that’s a little too vain? That your way is the right one?”
           “It is the right way to reestablish the balance in the Force. And is it wrong to want power? I am not picking a side, on the contrary, I am following my own path.”
           You had no words. No arguments.
           Kylo Ren had it all put together, all the history, all the facts… and he was actually right.
           “You didn’t explain one thing though.” It was all you felt limited to say.
           “Come with me.” Both of you entered the library. It was mostly destroyed and many holocroms were lying around, some of them broken. Kylo knew exactly where head to.
           “A scavenger girl from Jakku joined the Resistance and found the way to Skywalker.” He started talking, not looking at you. You knew he was talking about Rey. “During this time a lot of things happened. The Resistance got almost entirely destroyed… that was a win for us, but losing the map to Skywalker and this connection with this girl, that for some reason I had until Crait, made me realize some things…” He stopped in a random place of the library, you stared him.
           “I came here to search for answers to questions that I even didn’t know I had. The answers that I got… it is what I am telling you now. That is why I killed Snoke when I had the chance.”
           “What about the girl?”
           “I thought she would stick to my side, that she would understand. I wanted to show her what I am showing you now. But her view is way too blurred by the Jedi vision.” He grabbed a holocrom from the floor, this one was alone away from the others.
           “After the rise of the Empire, this building was destroyed. Palpatine used it for a while as a museum to his prestigious followers, to show how bad the Jedis were – he made some modifications. It was abandoned for a long time until Luke rebuilt it. Now it is abandoned again. Many things from the Jedi Order from the Old Republic days are gone, mainly the important things, but this holocrom holds an important thing that many would say it was trivial.”
           You stared at the holocrom, you never got the chance to learn how to open holocroms, some of them only the use of the Force was necessary, but most of them had a specific way to be open.
           “Ahsoka Tano was Anakin’s padawan. She was expelled of the Jedi Order after being incriminated by another Jedi. The Council did not even heard her, they just believed she was guilt. Anakin found the guilty one and Ahsoka was free. She didn’t come back to the Order, she learned the hard way that they were not to be trusted.” And saying that, he activated the holocrom.
       (This was inspired in this video: https://youtu.be/mc-jLWyxZjI?t=56 from the Clone Wars show)
A female Mirialan showed up, she had a worried look on her face, she was about to speak up, and taking a deep breath she said:
           “I did it. Because I’ve come to realize what many people in the Republic have come to realize: that the Jedi are the ones responsible for this war, that we so lost our way that we’ve become villains in this conflict, that we are the ones that should be put on trial. All of us. And my attack on the Temple was an attack on what the Jedis have become: an army fighting for the Dark Side, far from the Light that we once held so dear. This Republic is failing, it’s only a matter of time.” And someone grabbed her and the holocrom deactivated.
           “This was the Jedi that incriminated Ahsoka.” Kylo completed. “She was not wrong. The Jedis betrayed themselves, they were supposed to be guardians of the peace, but they were masters of the war, picking sides and fighting for it.” He remained silence after his words.
           You started to think about the New Jedi Order. It was full of bureaucracy and rules. Rules were necessary, but they didn’t have to do with the fact that they couldn’t pick a side. The Order wasn’t neutral, like they should’ve been. Luke Skywalker committed the same mistakes from the old order, and unbalanced the Force. He was the one to blame for all those deaths – and he knew it, that was why he left to never be seen again.
           “I am not a fan of the Empire, you know. Not only weak they were, that they also served the purpose of a Sith. Palpatine only wanted power.”
           “So do you.”
           “Haven’t you been listening?” he asked annoyed. “I don’t want just power, especially not political power, like Palpatine also wanted. I want to stablish a New Order in the Galaxy, a good one, if you believe me, but to keep it safe, to keep it good. And with that the balance in the Force will be restored as well, and with so, I can keep my search for knowledge and power until my dying day.”
           “And that is why the past must remain in the past.”
           “That is what Darth Vader started that I want to finish.” You looked at Kylo with a worried look on your face, but actually, you were worried about yourself – for believing in his words, for letting go of your initial ideals.
           You came this path to find revenge – that wasn’t the Jedi way and you knew it, and that was why you started to dislike the Jedi Order, for not allowing the emotions. But now, you felt anger towards them all, because they had emotions, and that blurred their judgment anyway. So why couldn’t you find your own way? Why should you pick only the Light, the knowledge, or the Dark, the ambition? You wanted to follow Kylo Ren, you wanted to follow his path – and that worried you. All the hatred towards him were now leaving: he had destroyed all you had, but none you thought you had should have ever existed for starters. You should’ve had a completely different life. He was a victim just like you.
           “I gave my hand to you before.” He stood his hand in your direction, offering it. “Join me.”
           You looked at his hand and you thought about all he had just said to you. You decided to let the past go.
           “Yes” and you held his hand. End Note: soooooooooooooo, WHAT YOU THINK? does that make sense?? was it a good explanation?? WHAT MAY HAPPEN NEXT? WHAT ABOUT HER ROLE WITH THE RESISTANCE? WILL KYLO KNOW THAT SHE IS LYING ABOUT TONS OF THINGS?? OH PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT, THOSE INSPIRE ME SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! I love feedback because I feel validation for my work, I hope you guys get it. Leave it a reblog, a note, a like, whatever, just do it please please please. Lots of love to y’all and stay safe (and stay home)
hiya! are you still doing the ship thingie for the star wars series? if so, i’m 5’9”, i have red hair and blue eyes. as you can probably guess, i have very fair skin. i’m bi, sarcastic, a loyal friend, and i love giving advice to people. i am kinda insecure, i can be pretty stubborn, and i am willing to bend over backwards to help friends in need. i like to think of myself as smart and kind. i hope i don’t sound too much like im bosting about myself lol, i have trouble describing myself to other people sometimes. i hope this was enough information! thank you so much!
Hi lovely! I hope you like it!💖 You didn’t really specify which era you want so I am doing a general thing. If you want the others as well just sent in another ask. That is absolutely no problem💖
For a general Star Wars ship I would ship you with Anakin Skywalker!
he always comes to you for advice
does he listen to it?
no of course not
but how else is he going to spend time with you and get your attention at the beginning?
and he is very determined as well
of course you can see right through him
but it is quite cute so you let it slide
and moments together later on are rare so you take what you get
he knows he can always count on you no matter what
even when some of his plans seem way too stupid
they work (at least most of the time)
he absolutely loves your hair
kinda reminds him of a warmth that he hasn’t felt since he left his mother
which is weird cause his mother had brown hair
but it just does (come fight me)
he loves how smart you are
again he is asking for advice cause you are the smartest person he knows
and yes he says that to Obi Wans face as well which is one of the great joys in his life
he loves to here you talk and will listen to you for hours
no matter what!
even when he is in the middle of a battle
he will still talk to you over a comm
even though you tell him to stop and concentrate
he doesn’t listen
of course he doesn’t
and he takes the lecture of how dangerous it was to do that from you gladly
oh and the two of you are both stubborn as hell
and neither really wants to give in
so both of you take your time to cool off
which happens fairly quickly because he can’t bare the thought of you being mad with him and neither can you
random dates as often as possible
because time spend is rare
also he is the master of hidden make out sessions
you don’t know how he does it but he always finds very secluded places
and of course he senses when someone is around
he thinks not even Obi Wan knows what is going on
(of course he knows)
but Obi likes you so he doesn’t say a think
also Rex is there to watch out for the two of you as well often enough
if Anakin is busy with meetings you like to talk to Rex as well
it is nice not to have secrets when talking to someone
and Rex listens more to your advice than Anakin which is also nice
