My first project completed during The 100 Days Project! I saw this comment in a "vaguely threatening corporate speak" video and couldn't get ot out of my mind. I had to chart it out immediately.

I've decided that (other than this 😅🤞) I'm going to work on WIP from my 100 Days. Hopefully I can work through what I have laying around to make room for other new projects!

Ok, so in my Relativity Falls AU when Mabel comes back from the portal she's gonna be that cool aunt who lets the kids play with her multidimensional weapons and Dipper's anxiety will go from 0 to 100 in an instant whenever that happens. Also when the twins ask her how she lost her arm she's gonna look like she's going through a PTSD episode and just stare at nothing for about 7 seven seconds before she goes "well! Time to knit Waddles a new sweater!" And leave without explanation.

maybe the banter bug is a blessing in disguise because half the time when people start talking i just sigh

#one problem with the dai characters' writing is. it feels like everyone was very recently forced to take a class #on writing characters and was told they all need distinctive voices to stand out. and really really took that to heart #yeah i could instantly pick out cole or bull or sera from their speech pattern alone. but at what cost.#anyway thinking of respeccing vivienne because solas' ice magic keeps saving my life but i roll my eyes whenever #he speaks. yeah i get it youre a curious and mysterious soul and everything you say will be soo ironic in 100 hours #please stop making conversation with varric im trying to hear the insane things he and cass say to each other

I realized I had forgotten to swatch for the button hole before starting the second sleeve. And an Hour later I have a swatch with 8 button holes before I got happy with how they look. The pattern basically says "make buttonhole" and I'm not experienced enough with garment knitting to go on just that.

I did manage to confirm that despite sizing up my yarn, I'm still going to need 1 inch/25mm buttons. I don't currently have 6 matching 25mm buttons that would look good with this yarn, so decisions have to be made. And unfortunately my brain has decided the best possible button would be a rose gold coloured shank back(?) button preferably that looks like an actual flower. Which, good luck to me for finding that relatively affordably.

I think I'm just going to knit the cardigan and decide once it's all sewn up. If it fits well and I think I'll wear it, I'll spend the money to get Nice buttons.

#swatching the button holes only took an hour of testing and writing and googling tutorials for things #but looking at buttons on ebay/etsy/random craft stores... that was three hours #i had fun tho tbh i love shopping :)#there IS novel reasons for the Ideal Buttons!!!#theres no actual description of buttons or anything. but still Novel Reasons #the Guy who Knit the Cardigan is representing by gold. like his hairs and eyes are described as golden regularly #i think its actually like a pale gold? but i think rose gold with the pinkish would look better with this pink #(i don't actually own anything rose gold i plan on taking a swatch with me to Somewhere with Rose gold to see them together)#also this is a designer pattern. the buttons deserve a bit of Class. i found some chanel buttons that would be great if i give up on flower #another thing about the Guy who Knits is that he like. CONSTANTLY is bringing the protag flowers. somehow not bl btw #off the top of my head i'm 100% sure he brings him carnations and i'm prettyyyyy sure roses?#sadly there's no canon colour on the carnations. the list of questions i have for the author grows every day #but the flower buttons Speak to me. maybe if i go for more simple buttons i can get a carnation applique or something #also i really really hope that i can read my own handwriting in the (v optimistic) two months it'll be before i knit the button bands

Me wondering why my cat and i have spent pretty much all day in my winter bed blanket and pillow nest and kinda shivering when I’m outside of it, checks my weather app

I love Minnesota but damn #some days I’m like ‘do we HAVE to have a competition with Antarctica?’#I know it’s global warming fucking with weather patterns #we didn’t use to get this this often #we also didn’t get as many summer droughts and temperatures in the 100s often #one of those things can give me seizures and it’s actually not the cold #lakes my beloved is fucking die without you #what good is enough snow to do outdoor activities if you would freeze too quickly #last winter it was too warm and dry and when we did get precipitation it was freezing rain #global warming fuckery #still. I at least don’t have to worry about seizures from stepping outside 👍#and it’s actually pretty when we have snow #the other night it was warm enough to snow and we got these huge flakes that looked all sparkly like big glitter chunks #and full moons on the snow are gorgeous #I don’t hate winter tbh. I just get cranky about extreme weather happening so often #for a variety of reasons from climate activism history to it just sucking ass #we used to only get days like this once every couple of years #now it seems like it’s either this cold or too warm for real winter #my family signed up for a certain kinda weather when they immigrated here a century ago #and this wasn’t exactly it. at least not this frequently #I’m just glad buildings have better insulation and weather proofing now #the farm house was bad enough before my parents remodeled over the years #you can still feel cold when it gets like this though #but I’m actually at my apartment right now and it’s usually a bit warmer because of everyone’s body heat and it being brick #my window here does have a break in the seal somewhere though #I’ve got six pillows. one of those chair back type pillows. and three blankets plus my cat right now #i would turn up the heat more but my cat and I don’t want to leave my bed #I should put socks on #thanks grandma for making me a pair of really thick pajama pants for winter

This is the base pattern, I'm not sold on the full thing. I like the warrant of trade and von Valancius V but we shall see what it looks like when merged with some generic ass lace pattern and on her actual dress.

A resolution, I guess: a few Christmases back I got a kit for this lap-sized fox quilt and I've FINALLY got everything cut, minus a few one-inch squares that went missing in the meantime.

I'm going to rearrange things so I can stop using the sewing machine table as a side table and actually piece this fucking thing together.

It's so cute, some of the fabric even has foxes, so you can make your fox faces out of foxes in case 42 fox blocks aren't enough

#kite rambles #i got it so long ago i genuinely can't remember if it was a gift from mom or grandma #I've finished two quilts in my life and one was a copy of the other that my sister liked so much she wanted her own #so i NEED to finish this #i may have also just bought a pattern. and I've got my eye on a free northstar pattern for my bed since i upgraded to a queen #so i have to finish this one before i can buy fabric for anything else #the lap quilts i finished were stark house wolves #because i was offended that the official merchandise was always just a wolf head #when it's supposed to be a wolf rampant #you need to give that wolf a fucking body for it to be rampant #i designed those myself no pattern i was very proud 😌#resolutions #I'm also going to try another 100 day drawing challenge #and yes my two minutes today counted
