#596: wright has accidentally destroyed hp timeline but doesn't know it yet
ancient magic is no shit
#днявочка#днявочка: hlegacy#eng tag#power fantasy that's like a built up steam is no shit either#The Fic per se is a very self-indulgent story and#because Story Reason Number 0#(utlitd brainrot)#wright has every right to do anything she'd like because errrr let's say i don't understand rackham like at all but for another reason phps#i do not mind trials because it had to be done in a rush and that's the only reason rackham agreed; he didnt want to let in a 15yo#because trials were meant to keep the repo safe as its power was... i mean if a mature individual may have not resisted the temptation#what could he possibly expect from a young lass?#he wouldn't mind training i suppose but there wasn't time to have it in place -- but*#but he couldn't had said no. the repo was in danger; ranrok would dig it up and then what would happen#wright had no choice and in-game mc hadn't many options either; they had to go through everything as was#it is not irresponsible to wield that magic at that age or get into very specific training; that is -- be irresponsible -- is to be like Fi#whatever beef he had with matilda black sharp anyone else SHOULD NOT had became wright's problem#in fact the implication which mc clearly states after learning about her ability -- it had to be shared with the staff#if not right away then after the map chamber had been opened#I MEAN LOOK AT THESE LOVELY PEOPLE SHARP WOULD NEVER MATILDA WOULD NEVER and black's cord is of chocolate eclair#I MEAN FIG REALLY#?????????????????????#*but let's get bac to here to that little tiny star#rackham is hardly the teacher because he wasn't a good mentor to isidora; her spell her desire to eliminate pain. i understand it#but rackham's reasoning was of an old fart who got scared away immediately and not just concerned#in fact all his talks with isidora was him being a fart and her wincing because tf kind of arguments he even had#do not mourn your beloved father. it is dangerous (orly а мы-то и не знали). shouldn't be wielded.#rackham was able to do something ONLY when it was already too late; im not in support of isidora however but her downfall to madness#was on his hands pretty much and i might be imagining things now but when he is astounded by a 15 yo in front of him#he doesnt want to deal with her because oh my merlin WILL I FUCK UP AGAIN

They fed my baby STALE LEFTOVERS? Nah luceris isn’t the only one I have to get rid of now EVERYBODY HAS TO GO 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫💥💥💥💥
Stale food and ripped their clothing I fear 😔 made a 9-10yo miserable for no reason like okay... Luceris fired them though so 15yo MC is at peace, maybe.

Re: Moffat I hate how he always made his attractive female characters in some way in love with the MC. Like River and Amy with the Doctor, Molly and Irene in Sherlock (the later literally being the trope of a lesbian "falling" a guy, the former really. not being given an actual character by him or the fanbase. As an adult and not the 15yo I was when I watched either show I understand he isn't like, uniquely the problem, but it did deeply affect my interest and willingness to watch anything he did. I think his good episodes of DW (Blink and The Doctor Dances) rely on him having someone else editing/telling him "no"
wish I had a well formulated response to this but. the cold open of the episode I just started was literally queen nefertiti putting her hands all over the doctor before shoving him up against the door of the tardis 😭

The vampire story ish I'm working on involves a vampire who wakes up from a coma with amnesia. To help him reintegrate with vampire society, he's sent to a school for the freshly turned fledglings. But our protagonist is a bright one, and he doesn't take long to figure out that something is viciously wrong with this 'school' they're at. Why can't they leave? Why are the teachers/'Guardians' so cruel to them? Why is this matriarchal society so 'traditional' in a sexist way? Why is everyone so comfortable with the fact that half the fledglings will be dead before maturity? And if the vampire gods are the only real ones, who is the man in his dream, and why does his rage burn as bright as the MC's?
Written like this, it feels like a combination of the vampire YA and the YA dystopia crazes... though I'm not sure I'm writing for teenagers here. Probably omegaverse but not in a smut or shipping way. Temporary series name is 'Sacred Destruction', because that's the goal of the MC and the god he interacts with. If you can guess who the god in question is, you get a cookie. If you can guess what 15yo mostly forgotten YA series this is in response to, you get... I dunno. It's almost one am.

I've seen a lot of hypocritical antis and they never fail to just surprise me somehow. I just watched this youtuber talk about reading a f-ed up hentai manga with a 15yo MC and they asked for similar hentai from their viewers cause they like f-ed up stuff and "not cause it's hot" and continue to say "If you got off to this type of story then I'd have you shot!" like, they do know what hentai manga is for, right? They act like they have moral high ground for not being into the sexy part.
--
Half their problem is that they're mad everyone has kinks just one tiny step to the side from theirs.

Hiii! 💖
I was just wondering because at the moment the MC is a baby, is there going to be multiple timeskips or just one big one throughout the story? If there's multiple timeskips can you tell us what ages they happen at? Thank you and love the prologue!! 🤗
So the current plan is for there to be 6 stages of MC's early life. It goes as: 5yo 8yo 10yo 12yo 15yo 18yo
Each of these ages will have their own chapter, with the rest of the game happening after 18. I think these timeskips are long enough to provide a different experience for each age but not too long that you would lose track of who the character you're building is, I hope!

Wait are you seriously telling me that this man literally pretended to be binary at first so no one would notice and criticize that every paragraph of his 15yo mc's thoughts has a sentence like "I blushed in shame at my unattractively diminutive titties"??? Trash man feed him to dogs please
assuming you meant non-binary
to be fair to him "men should never even try to write women because they can never do it right" was a discourse that existed in some spaces at the time. not going to pretend his choices with his female characters are always good but they could've been a lot worse

after the collective mental collapse we had with hui on bp hearing that jinho would also join a survival " Phantom Singer 4 " i thought it would be my 13th reason to give up but surprisingly i am beyond happy and glad he took that leap of faith
it somehow balances out the god awful existence of bp999 to a certain extent
watching jinho there perform somehow felt like a full circle moment (in a positive way) . i believe jinho going there was a blessing regardless of the shitty situation
he chose to go with his name cho/jo jinho instead of his stage name I'm assuming he wants to prove his ability as he himself as the 31 yo singer and not an idol
jinho has said multiple times that singing is his whole life its what he's good at and will forever work on (2020 studio flo episodes)
i initially didn't care abt it tbh my whole world basically crumbled down on dec 19th 2022 the initial news like I said felt like an nth stab but when i checked his first stage i was in awe you can see the passion in his eyes
he performed a musical number from Dear Evan Hansen as much as I dislike the message and the story of that piece some songs are Broadway calssics i adore . waving through a window is a hard song itself full of emotions where the mc is choking on tears while singing about his failed attempt questioning his whole existence and whether he matters to anyone. speaking from the perspective of a musical nerd he did it justice he understood the story the character . a prominent color pallette in DEH is blues and he was dressed in said pallette mimicking Evans mouvements and mannerisms
i can only applaud that stage . he said he trained as hard as he did for his debut and regardless of how stressed and anxious he was the judges were on his side
i get that some might think it's a shame that he has to be judged by kyuhyun whom he used to train with but i personally don't see why he should be ashamed. Jinho is the first idol singer on that show with multiple industry titans he stood his ground he proved himself which i find infinitely admirable .
i am seeing so much of jinho i love seeing him getting praised i love seeing him brainstorm stages with his teammates i love hearing his voice i love seeing stars in his eyes on stage doing what he loves the most and i cannot get enough of it
it feels like he belongs to that show he's exploring his own capacities and limits which what being on a survival should be and not trying to please an audience of brain smooth 15yos and nuking your own ability because no one else can fuckin sing (very much bp in case you couldn't guess )
Being a singer being in love with music and wanting to improve until the day you die shouldn't be frowned upon this way no artist should have an expiration date.
all of this to say i will watch every crumb of my man jojin because he's actually there to see how far he can go and I'll be there with him within every step he made it past the 2nd elimination for a reason

I get it. Fandom discourse can be terrifying. You're valid for being wary. Also, I agree on the Gbf ages being weird. I personally take them as suggestions rather than hard fact and then largely ignore them anyway, because the ages seem largely unrelated and these characters have aged like one year in 9 human years, so it's really not that important lmao. As long as they're over 18 it's all good
ikr 😩 a curse, truly, but thank you for that.
and yeah same. Usually i kinda just go "are they an adult or are they a child", and then it's only about mostly relativity to me. Like Siegfried is older than Lancelot and Percival, who are older than Vane. Any other details is up depending on what matters or not, this type of things.
like i mentioned how i think Seox being 19 is just bewildering to me, and it's kinda the mix of wanting to make him younger than Nehan (who's established at 21) but also close in age to MC who is constantly frozen at 15yo (mostly bc of the whole "they could have been adopted siblings had our father tried" thing).
Personally i feel like both of them are too young. But i kinda just take it as "they're over 18 and adults, and Seox is slightly younger than Nehan". the ages themselves just serve as a guideline to me.
and then we have Meg. Meg who lived all of the Auguste summer, and in My Beloved Auguste is mentioned to be coming back every year, and, by the time of the 6th summer..... was 18yo? I'm sure the implication is that the "Auguste Summers" are spread out on like a couple of years rather than one a year and everything, but the event did play it like it was once a year, so that just made her age more confusing. Just making her 20 already would make things less confusing honestly. And considering Mari, who's her age, ended up becoming a political figure in Auguste, making them like, actual adults and not just "barely adults" would probably have been better anyway.
but honestly yeah i'm showing my overthinking there because it's the reason i Gave Up. I don't really care actually, but mostly because i feel like if you try to take the ages too seriously, things are going to drive you insane before you know it.
so just taking it easy and having just some vague ideas of the ages is the way to go imo. No worrying, just chilling, just somewhat mindful about it all, and tadaaaaa.

Nooo RK, Zico, I trusted you both 😭 LMAOOOO
One is where the protag discovers she has really powerful mind magic and that a bunch of dudes(tm) wanna kill her or abduct her (idk), and the li is the “misunderstood” murderous bastard that she hires to protect her.
She’s a sweetheart and sees the good in everyone (he’s literally murdered people babes), and he’s a cynic and a grump and no one likes or trusts him (except the mc because she’s an idiot and loves to catch those red flags apparently).
It’s your typical cliché YA straight bullshit lmaooo
———
The other one is an arranged marriage between the young queen of one country (the li) and the princess of another country (protag). The protag is actually sent there in order to assassinate the queen and take over.
The queen’s rep is terrible in the protag’s country, but then the princess realises that the queen is actually deeply misunderstood (literally this time !!!) and is a kind and gentle soul. The princess and the queen fall in love for real (aw!), but then oh no! The queen finds out the princess was going to kill her, and heartbroken, she orders her execution which triggers a war…
Another cliché YA bullshit but with lesbian characters written by a repressed 15yo who refused to believe that she wasn’t straight ASJSKDNDJNF
———
Other stuff happens and there are so many characters in both (many of which overlap because apparently I had a severe lack of imagination at 15), but this is embarrassing enough so it’s all you’re getting 💀

I was thinking about how I was going to intro this character, Alika (a terrorist who fights against the elitist government), and I had an amazing idea
Glossary:
Hight: The rich and the capitalist, technically. They often use long well-cared hair, jelwery and expensive clothes.
Citizen: Middle-class. They are brainwashed with propaganda from birth in order to obey and serve the Hight. In order to difer from the Hights, they tend to use short hair and cheaper clothing by default. Some of them have african-locks or hairstyles that are easy to make look short.
The avenue they're in: the Blue Avenue, a residencial area for rich people (Hights) where MC lives near to. It has this name because most houses there were built blue, thanks to some crazy architetorial project
Amani: Little red riding hood, 15yo, the main
"Girl" Amani talks about: Alika
Pariah: An extra social class. The exiled people - most of them are revolutionaries against the Hight Governement but not all.
I made a lil' thing about this:
Forgive any english mistakes, but you may point them out
The girl looked over at her, hot breath against cold air. "And who are you?" "I'm Amani." She looked a little bit amazed. Amani, on the other hand, was sure she looked confused. She could not from where the girl had came from. She had short spikey hair, but the clothes were hight-quality. And she had weird earrings. But Amani wasn't sure if she was a Hight; she was being to polite. Besides: "Are you a Hight?", the girl asked curious. Amani raised an eyebrow. No way the girl was one, or else she would have knew what she was. Amani tried not to sight. She wouldn't lie. Even if she wanted to. Lying about her identity could be severely punished, and she was no fool: that avenue was often watched over. "No", she answered to the girl. "I'm a Citizen. See?" She lowered the hood, gesturing to her short braided locks. "If I wasn't, my clothes wouldn't be this cheap, my hair wouldn't be that short and I'd have earrings. Like yours", she pointed out. "I'm no Hight." The girl then smirked, amused. "Oh, really? Good to know. Well, pleased to meet you, non-Hight. I'm a Pariah, my pronouns are they/them and I'm capturing you now."

and another thing about the new velma show: is anyone else really weirded out by the fact that the adaptation where velma's not white is the one where they decided to make her a dollar general daria but worse bc the writers/showrunners seem to think being rude is the same as being snarky? someone on twitter said that this velma design is too cute for this show/script (which is a 100% true and based statement btw), what a waste
And just because Velma is the smart one, that doesn't mean she shouldn't be allowed to have fun and/or care for her friends. Have you ever seen OG!Velma? She's a hoot! Delightful to be around with! And her brainstorm helps the team solve the puzzles with much ease!
Tumblr media
Funny thing is that HBO's Velma has Mindy Kaling, a black woman, calling the shots... but the arguments on this tweet still stand!
And you're totally correct about the designs. Velma looks SO cute in the new show; she looks like ME now, I was supposed to be happy and euphoric about this, but they've wrote her to be this passive-aggressive bitch, it's so hard for me to root for her, or any of the gang.
Shaggy is a whole different character (who goes by "Norville", his birth name, and has to remind us all the time that he HATES drugs), Daphne is the stereotypical spoiled rich girl (with Velma attempting to murder her in the school showers, UNPROVOKED), Fred became the racist douchebag with a small penis (no, I'm not joking; the show goes on and on about a 15yo's genitalia), and Scooby himself is unexistent because he'd take away the whole edge of the show (despite the fact that Mystery, Inc. had him, and STILL had an edge to it).
And they still expect me to care about Velma, just because she and Daphne are now girlfriends.
Tumblr media
Oh, and Spoiler Alert: Their relationship is official on the second episode. No slow progress at all.
I'm sorry, but you cannot expect me to care for your black lesbian MC, if all she has ever done was being a major bitch to everyone, and shamelessly attempted to kill her future girlfriend in the pilot.
Do better. Pull an effort. Plus, the live-action movie had this idea before, so y'all ain't original.

I mean, I have a YA (like 4th-6th grade kind of YA) gymnastics novel in my head that follows 3 gymnasts from the same gym - a 13yo determined to make the Olympics, a 15yo determined to get a D1 college scholarship, and a 17yo who just enjoys competing L10 and being the star of her high school gymnastics team and wants to go to the Naval Academy - but you're dead right that there are SO few adult gymnastics novels! It's kinda annoying.
When we were doing market research for her first pitch we found one novel that claimed to be about an adult protagonist but it turned out that she immediately starts coaching near the start of the novel.
In general strokes her novel is: fictional member of the Magnificent Seven missed Sydney because she broke her foot at 1999 Worlds and just couldn't make it back in time. USAG is not so gently telling her she needs to retire in 2001 when the novel starts in part because they rightly suspect she called the police after an incident in her childhood gym leaves a gymnast with a broken arm because a coach forced her to get back up on a beam with a concussion. She's given up her eligibility for NCAA and the only place she can continue to be a gymnast is a small down on it's luck club in the German professional league. She finds a family there and a new love for her sport and takes the bewildered group of her German friends/coaches through a journey back to the Olympics in the insane world of the 2004 cycle.
Since the MC is 21 when the novel starts it doesn't fit in the YA genre and there is the problem with how to pitch it. It's also very much not a YA novel even if the protag wasn't an adult (nothing wrong with YA this just isn't it).

I don't think you understand how amazing you are, at least to me. I'm sitting here thinking about OB theories. Just out here thinking about "could mini be the queen" like I know Raelan got another kid but maybe now the kingdom is more sure of its power and he can get her to be the queen because Mini's baby brother doesn't want that, he wants to travel and just live his life, he's like "i have 😃 a perfect 😃person😃 for the job😃 that is 😃 my older sister 😃✨".. And I want to know what happened to MC and how many years it passed because like Mini seems to have like around 18 or like if we push maybe early 20s and I want to know what happened I don't really know how old out MC was when Mini was 3yo but I think maybe 18 years passed or maybe not because Mini's brother doesn't seem to be more than like 15yo so he's a kid.. I don't know I have questions, a lot of them 🤣you are amazing I wish we could sit and talk about it; I I hope you will be happy with everything you are writing and making and I can't wait to play more of them and also to play more of your new games and you know, everything you have planned to do after you take your break because you deserve it I'm just very excited for everything the near future will bring us >< (sorry for any mistake and if it's confusing, i use voice typing)
Thank you sooooosoooo much for playing and I'm so happy you enjoyed OB! Please join our discord server if you wish to discuss about OB with all the other players! https://discord.com/invite/U749cQT (Also about all upcoming games too!)💖💖💖💖

* cw: mentions of inappropriate adult/teen relationships and sexual abuse/grooming *
I was a big reader as a teen and I remember one time a friend invited me to this tea party with an author she loved. I had never heard of the woman or read her books. She wrote a lot of high fantasy and it wasn’t really my thing, but I went anyway because my friend invited me.
At first it seemed harmless. It was downtown in a fancy hotel lobby and there were maybe four or five other girls there our age (14-16) plus the author (late forties). All the girls were instructed to wear dresses and tiaras, which was also really not my thing. I didn’t know anyone but my friend and really didn’t even know much about the author herself. I mostly listened to the others ask her questions about the book about to be released.
I remembered watching how much these girls loved this woman, laughed at everything she said, and when I went home I thought that her books must be something for them to be so excited. I borrowed the first book’s copy and started it that night.
The main character of the book was a 17yo girl whose entire family was murdered within 20 pages. The main love interest was a 600yo faerie that frequently invited her to tea parties (hence the event) where she was encouraged to dress for him in certain ways (usually without much clothing at all).
I remember sitting in my bed, only a few years out from my own experience with grooming, and thinking about the way that adult woman had sit across from the table from us 14-16yos. I thought of the feeling in my mouth when she told me I had “big boobs for 15yo.” I asked my friend the next day at school if she thought it was weird that the MC’s LO was more than 30x her age.
My friend said it was romantic.
And how confusing, right? My own abuser had been a mere 2x my age, and I had been repeatedly told what happened to me was horrific. But the character in this book was “romantic.” I distinctly remembered the way my friend called him cute.
And even at 15 I knew something was wrong, but I was the only one around that thought so. What made it even worse was that I was so sure the problem was me — that I simply didn’t find it romantic bc the older man that groomed me wasn’t conventionally attractive or given swoony lines like the MLO in that series.
To this day, any time I see that trope in a book I want to burn the book. Why is this the message in so many YA novels? Why do we let this become okay?
