Watching 1x05 knowing that just a few series' later Arthur scraps the whole 'only noblemen can be knights' bullshit is so good. I'm just watching Uther spout his usual rhetoric like ohhh you bastard you're gonna be rolling in your grave 😆 (i mean i know he did more than that when he came back as a ghost but still)
Also love the seeds being sown with Arthur's mindset- he always questioned Uther's rules- just as Merlin said in 5x03. He knows Lancelot only lied bc he wanted to help.
absolutely OBSESSED with the way everybody loves merlin. 2 seconds into talking about identity fraud about lancelot's agreeing to lie to the god and country
so we all know about lancelot's white shirt from 1x05 but what i hadn't realised is just how plunging the shirt he wears in 2x04 actually is:
[ID: two images from the 'Lancelot’s Wardrobe' page on Merlin Wiki of Lancelot in a shirt and gambeson in series 2, episode 4. The shirt is grey and the strings are loosely woven through the eyelets. The first image shows most of his torso and the bottom of the shirt opening looks like it falls to where his sternum would be, just above the elbow. In the second image, only half of Lancelot’s torso is pictured but the shirt is taut, revealing much of his chest. End ID.]
he is just. out there with half his chest out at all times.
"Gwen's so grounded, definitely the voice of reason among her friends!"
Gwen upon finding out that Merlin wants to fraudulently introduce Lancelot as a nobleman to get him his knighthood, already unrolling her measuring tape: Ballin'.
