2 TIMOTHY S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 1
Tuesday, 3/25/25
SCRIPTURE:
From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, to promote the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus. ~ 2 Timothy 1:1
OBSERVATION:
"An apostle by God's will..."
...not Paul's will...
...not my will!
...not my wants!
"...to promote the promise..."
...not myself...
...not my will...
...not my wants...
"...the promise of life..."
All I can ultimately promise is death...
He promised - He still promises - life...
...in Christ...
Why would I not promote Him and His promise?
In His power...
In His love...
In His control...
APPLICATION:
Promote the promise!
verse 6: Revive God’s gift - the promise! - that is in me! Me?!?!
Verse 8:
Don’t be ashamed of the testimony - the promise! - of - the Lord!
share the suffering for the good news - the promise!
depend on God’s power - His promise!
Verse 14: Protect this good thing - the promise - that has been placed in my trust through the Holy Spirit who lives in me.
PRAYER: (Using verse 7)
Father God - I ask Your forgiveness for not remembering that You didn’t give me a timid, self-serving spirit, but one that is powerful, loving, and self-controlled. Thank You for Your promises - May Your Holy Spirit speak through me and my all of my words and actions promote Your Word and the salvation offered through Your Son's surrender of His will for Yours - in Jesus's Name, and for Your glory, praise, and honor...
Promoting the promise!

All things are full of toil; none can express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
Ecclesiastes 1:8
Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Proverbs 27:20
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
1 John 2:16
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment. It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not be green.
Job 15:31-32
Therefore, Ezra, empty things are for the empty and full things for the full.
2 Ezdras 7:25
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
1 Timothy 6:18-19
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Notes
Worldly things will only give temporary satisfaction, then boredom and unfulfilment inevitably creeps in, so one has to search for new exciting things and novelties. It is an endless cycle. The pursuit of personal pleasure/money/status, which is what the Bible refers to as 'selfish ambition', can only provide temporary excitement that will fade. Lasting meaning, therefore, can only be found in good deeds, selfless love, and humility before God.

"THAT CONTAINER IS LYING ABOUT ITS CONTENTS"
Matthew 7:15, “Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you LOOKING LIKE SHEEP on the OUTSIDE, but on the INSIDE they are really like wild WOLVES.” (GNT) My two favorite seasons are Winter and Fall! Winter, because I love Christmas, snow, carols, decorations and the like. And Fall, because I love the colors, Thanksgiving, the start of the scent of fireplaces, but most of all,…

How to Know Your Call to Ministry
How can you know your call to ministry is from the Lord? In the Bible, people such as Samuel (1 Sam 3:4-10) and Isaiah (Isa 6:8) experienced direct, audible calls from God. These instances left no doubt about the divine origin of call to ministry. However, these cases were unique and often accompanied significant shifts in God’s work in history. Today, God still calls people to ministry, but He…

Trusting the Lord in Times of Suffering: An Expository Study of Alma 14
In our journey of faith, suffering can often feel insurmountable. It's in these moments that we must remember Christ's example and His ultimate sacrifice.
Alma the Younger and Amulek are led away from the fire that has consumed the believers in Ammonihah. Suffering is an inevitable part of the human experience, especially for believers striving to walk the path of righteousness. In Alma 14, we find a profound example of enduring faith amidst unimaginable trials. Alma and Amulek faced severe persecution and witnessed the martyrdom of the faithful,…

OBSERVATION:
Make my requests, prayers, petitions and thanksgiving for ALL people...
...because it is right...
...and it pleases God...
...Who wants ALL people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the - His - truth...
APPLICATION:

Pray everywhere
Lift my hands
Making sure they are:
Holy
Anger-free
Argument-free

Saving Father God - May I remember to pray wherever and whenever for whomever... to make sure my hands are set-apart for Your service... to confess my failures and give thanks for Your grace and mercy and blessings... in Jesus's Name, and always to call attention to Your glory and not my own...

Nine Biblical Reasons to Reject Donald Trump as a Candidate for President
Wednesday is for Political Controversy I don’t want to write this post. Despite the fact that I wrote a book with the title Picking a President or Any Other Elected Official, I’m not a really political person. I’m a registered Independent. Have been all my life. I wish all Christians were registered Independents. I don’t think it is wise for Christians to be identified with either or any…

Sisters, are you really believing God’s Word? Do you take all that the Lord says to you seriously and believe every word of it? Do you do so even when it challenges your convictions? We ought to. Galatians 6: 7-8, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the…

Unlimited Atonement
Unlimited atonement is the biblical teaching that Jesus died for everyone. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God by taking upon Himself the sins of all humanity and bearing the punishment that was due for our sins.
Unlimited atonement is the biblical teaching that Jesus died for everyone. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God by taking upon Himself the sins of all humanity and bearing the punishment that was due for our sins. His death on the cross paid the price for the sins of everyone. Jesus’ death for sins is the foundation for reconciliation with God because God judged…
