So I've been working on a short comic, and here's a preview of the first five pages and the cover. They still need some cleanup and editing, and the rest of the pages of course, but I hope you enjoy them!

Page 2. She looks over to see three people murmuring around a nearby building. Orc: "Don't tell me there's more." The three pointy eared people approach, looking frightened. Bearded man with his hands raised: "Mistress - Please, have mercy." The Orc is shocked, before she looks down, muttering, "Not looking forward to this part." Looking at the bearded fellow she says, "I will not harm the unarmed." Sighing, the bearded man says, "Thank you, Mistress." Avoiding his eyes, the orc says, "I don't deserve your thanks. I have killed many of your brethren."

Page 3. Two of the people exchange a look between them, faces neutral. Bearded one: "…Our soldiers, yes." The other, an older woman with short hair, looks at the orc. "Mistress, where do you come from?" Bearded one: "Why have you done this?" A shadow passes over the orc's face. "I am from Eskerfort." The next panel shows her saying "And… because I am from Eskerfort." over a flashback to her kneeling on the ground, defeated, in front of burning houses with soldiers barely visible in the background.

The two people in the present look away, almost ashamed, saying "Ah," with understanding.

Page 4. Looking down at the bodies below her, the orc says, "I am tired of bloodshed. I have avenged my kin. I will darken your doorways no more and leave you in peace." As she turns to leave, however, the beareded one rushes forward. "Wait! Worrier! Stop! Please!" The elfin woman looks up at her, asking, "Do you not know our laws?" Together the two try to point out something to the orc. "Look, please!" "Look!" Among the bodies is a fancily dressed one wearing a circlet. Off-panel, the people say, "That one you killed among the dead - he was our king." One of them reaches down to grab the circlet.

Page 5: Looking concerned, the orc woman says, "Are you asking me to be executed? For Regicide?" As the elfin woman is doing something, the bearded one puts his hands on his hips and looks up sternly. "No, Warrior, we are asking you to take responsibility."

The elfin woman holds the circlet up to the orc. It shines. "Our laws are clear," she says, "Whoever kills the king becomes the new king."

The orc stares ahead, eyes becoming pinpricks. "What?"

The next panel has her dressed in a fur lined cape with the circlet on her head, her hair being brushed. She has the exact same expression on her face. "what?"

The last panel has her sitting at the head of a long table with all the elfin people enjoying themselves around her. "what"

any tips for drawing miguel? I try but this man is too hard

Hmm I'm not sure if this will be useful because I'm aware I change a few things about Miguel's shape to fit my style more

But, I can give you some pointers or things to keep in mind

This man has SO MUCH ANGLES. His shape is sharp, and you can see it sooo much when he's not looking directly at the camera.

Starting with his face.

1. HIS HEADSHAPE. Mainly his jaw- I'm a bit silly when I draw that one so it's hard to give examples and pointers, but it's quite easy to figure out.

his cheekbones can help you as a reference line? I guess.

so, the way I draw his cheekbones is something more about my artstyle, but I use it as my starting point, what you really need it's the diagonal pointing juuuust a little to the center, and the other things I describe here:

And tada! a Miguel-like jaw shape

A 3/4 pose is the same principle, but the connect line is longer cos now you can see his jawline from the side, and the line at step 3 is shorter.

(of course you don't have to follow any of this in that exact same order, is just an example)

2. His hairline is like a M when you look it from the front. So just try to keep that shape rotating when drawing another angle.

3. He has juicy lips:) I mean, is not about ALWAYS drawing them plump, his expression can change that (I can't give you all those examples but I recommend you to check clips if you can to see what I'm referring to), overall, he has plump lips.

4. His eyebrows are thick, and usually keep their thickness, until the very end.

5. His eyes. He doesn't have his eyelids THAT heavy, they're thin, but they're there. also there's some lines under his eyes. Not exactly like eyebags but they add to his eyes.

6. His nose is not actually curved, it's straight, BUT, it's a bit wide, his bridge nose not so much, but the tip of his nose.

7. He has cute round ears:) I guess is not that important for his face feautres in general, but I wanted to point it out

8. HIS HAIR- omg I've seen a bunch of people ignoring some aspects of it, and that's some of the reasons your Miguel doesn't look as much as Miguel

First of all, his ears are half covered by hair going SIDEways, NOT upwards

The rest of the hair does follow the up and down shape

at the end you can go crazy with the pointy hair

And very important, spice it up with some strand hairs around

9.He has a strong and thick neck (and shoulders overall) If you make it too thin it could take away a little from the Miguel likeness.

Is almost as thick as the wide of his face from the front, and the shouldres are not a straight line, theres a llittle bump, or roundness to it

(Remember to match the rest of the body to it)

10. Just a note that remember to put some lines on his face:) Not mandatory of course, but that also can affect how younger he looks

most of these 'headcanons' are here more because they make me happy than to actually make any sense. as a warning.

smokes fat blunt puffs it in your face anyways uh trans henry jekyll yeah (gets shot) ty person from the j&h community i was messaging that dragged me to the dark side and introduced me to the world of embracing my j&h trans headcanons. a true angel.

i really like more book inspired takes on j&h than the musical ones soo uhh.. yeah theyre the same person fully no j&h arguing thing. im soooorrrrryyy its just my preference for adaptations and i find it a lot more fun to play with story wise. also some other reasons but i wont get into those

polyamorous and bisexual (bi because... obvious reasons. poly because of that one couple they meet up with in the comic every now and then. my favourite ... ship (i think thats the right term?) in the comic. i love them.)

speaking of chemicals! they are much more into science. mostly does science-y stuff when theyre hyde though. they like to break into lodgers rooms and contribute to experiments.

tried making jekyll in the concept redesign of him look older. failed SO bad im sorry i know its horrible.

hyde has pointy ears + pointer teeth (and green tongue because potion goop) + slit pupils because i am incapable of designing a human hyde. i have no idea why but i just cant.

earrings because 1: i have a bad habit of giving designs earrings and 2: i remember seeing a few headcanons of j&h with earrings and they were so tasty to look at so i had to do my own

bandage scarf thing from the beta tgs hyde design + newer tgs design that only shows up in the mind... world.... thing.

red and green hat because i couldnt decide if i wanted hyde to have the red hat from the old design of tgs hyde or the green hat from the current design. ripped it in half and chose both. great decision making i know

chunks of brown hair in hydes because why not. also red ring around one eye as like a weird variant of half heterchomia.

hyde has weird patches of green colored skin idk it just looked cool when i was fiddling with colors so i kept it

hyde has red scales in certain spots of the design. no further explanation

gave hyde black gloves to contrast jekylls white gloves + cmon. hyde probably touches the most gross revolting shit with the places they go to. they deserve some gloves.

changed their body type a litttttle bit just a smudge

i was going to give jekyll a cravat around the neck (a really bad designing habit of mine is to give characters cravats. not my fault they look so cool) both as a fancy thing + to hide lack of a adams apple buuttt the design felt way too clumped so im scrapping that. ignore the cravat in the drawing. grrr bARKBAKRABK

actually does sparkle visually/not just as a non-existent visual effect and people can actually see it. lanyon always swats them away because the sparkles get in his face.

hyde is more shorter than shown in the comic, more like book hydes height. like a foot or more shorter than jekyll. jekyll stays around the same height though. hydes probably the shortest one in the society.

hyde has a strong scottish accent instead of the other accent he fakes in the comic that i always forget the name of

(stuff like lodgers content and interactions, lanyon and hyde interactions because i enjoy secret identity and person said secret identity personal knows outside of their secret identity interactions, that one couple i talked about before interactions with jekyll/hyde and just in general random oneshots that make no sense) if i actually had any literacy skill

You crane your head to watch as Tinny leans on the railing and waves her arms at someone. “Hey! Blondie! Come up here!” she shouts.

Then she returns to you, checking over your restraints.

“Please,” you whisper, making an effort to sound as pitiful as possible. “Please, Tinny. Help me. We can even make it look like an accident. Just leave the ropes a little loose. I’ll slip out on my own tonight. You will not be blamed.”

Tinny raises an eyebrow. “Then what would ya do, hm? We’re miles from land.”

Shit, she’s right. You might be able to gather the strength to fly away, but you’ll probably fall out of the sky before you find land. You’re not the strongest swimmer.

You try and fail to suppress a frustrated sob. “I don’t know. But please, I need help.”

“Sorry, kid. No can do.”

A thudding of footsteps draws her attention behind you. “Gotta job for ya, blondie. Watch the prisoner. Captain says no food and no water till he decides to cooperate.”

“Understood.” The ‘blondie’ in question enters your line of sight, looking at you with open curiosity.

Damn it. He’s attractive. Tall, muscular, rugged but not filthy. He has tanned skin and ivy green eyes and a splash of freckles across his flushed skin. Pointy ears poke out from a halo of curly blond hair.

“Hi,” he says to you. “I’m Onthyes.”

“Ventis,” you return shakily, trying to will the tears on your face to evaporate.

“I’ll leave you to it,” Tinny says, clapping Onthyes’s shoulder. “Don’t let the little freak of nature outta your sight. And don’t let him talk ya into nothin.”

“I won’t,” he assures her.

She leaves you two alone and Onthyes has a seat on a nearby crate. He’s still staring at you. It’s getting unnerving.

“Do I have something on my face?” you snap, your voice still thick with tears.

Onthyes jumps, shaking his head quickly. “No! Well yes, actually. You’re a bit bloody.” He stands and walks over to you. There’s a wet rag slung over his shoulder. He must have been cleaning something before this. He grabs the rag and holds it up to your face, stopping before it touches you.

“Can I clean it off?”

WoF Reference guide - #01: Turtle, Squid, Pike

Preamble

I'm rather fond of the way characters are rendered in the Wings of Fire graphic novel adaptation, so whenever I draw WoF stuff, I like to lean into that style.

A problem I often run into there though, is that while the dragons in the comic are very expressive, members of the same tribe are sometimes difficult to tell apart, especially in close-ups. Reading the second one in particular is a bit of an undertaking, with a lot of Seawings that look very similar.

So to help myself out with that, I've started doing a style guide for my own reference that attempts to diversify the designs a bit while hopefully still keeping the basic principles introduced in the comics. Just a collection of my own headcanons really.

I wasn't really intending to publish any of this, but then I showed some of my friends and they said "This is cool", so... I suppose here we are. I've done about 20 of these by now, but I'm going to have to polish them a bit first so I don't just throw my dirty sketches at people.

Okay, that's probably enough talking, let's show something for it.

Flawseer Headcanon Refs

Build is somewhat heavy-set/chubby; hates exercise and tends to get second helpings during meals.

Facial structure very soft, round, and smooth; big nose; upper lip ends in a slight point like a little beak.

Eyes are bright, warm, and friendly.

Forehead fins are round with no sharp angles, average distribution of gaps.

Horns are smooth and curved backwards, with a small upwards barb at the end.

Luminous patches in face are polygonal, orderly. Ventral patches are roughly square and relatively large. Patches on limbs, back, and tail are polygonal and tend to cluster together and interlock, like pattern on a turtle shell.

Neck plates angular, slightly reminiscent of turtle shell.

Very petite and underdeveloped frame; scrawny, light-weight build with barely any fat or defined muscle.

Small head; youthful face; somehow nose is always wet.

Eyes are large; expression usually either guilty-looking or close to bursting into tears.

Horns are nubby and curve upwards, dull ends.

No defined chin barbels whatsoever, but a few nubby points growing out the back of the jaw.

Luminous patches on face, limbs, and back are thick, swirly spirals with splotches dotted around, or small clusters of 2 to 3 splotches by themselves; ventral patches are ring-shaped and look similar to suction cups, tail thus looks like a squid's tentacle.

Ventral fringe is very small and wispy, dorsal fringe made up of small leaf-like shapes that are oddly spaced out.

Build is somewhat runty and small; lean with wiry muscle; overall reminiscent of a draconic chihuahua and about as noisy.

Pointy face with sloped forehead; furrows on nasal ridge from excessive scowling; jaw juts forward with a bit of an underbite.

Eyes somewhat angular but still open; expression serious and dutiful.

Forehead fins angular; frayed with lots of gaps and blemishes.

Horns are bendy and pointed; smooth but covered in numerous small scrapes and blemishes.

Chin barbels are pointy and sharp-looking, but soft to the touch.

Face and body show a few small nicks and scars everywhere; little cut across the side of the mouth; ears are nicked and frayed. All of these accumulated from training accidents and reckless behavior.

Luminous patches on face and ventral side are small, flecky, like shards of broken glass; patches on limbs and back are large and pointy, shaped like spades or arrowheads.

Ventral and dorsal fringe pointy with small nicks and tears.

Ok so obviously I think about Asajj a lot but I usually don't fully explain or visualize it. So no time like the present to start doing that

Here are things about Asajj, starting with my personal design and concept of her and why it's like that (most of these are sketches to put my thoughts somewhere so don't expect anything refined or clean):

First off, that girl is a cryptid. Weirdo. I love giving her all-black eyes/white pupils because it fits her, and eyebrows whatsoever (unless I'm in the mood for that). This is mainly sticking to the earlier Dermoty Power designs for Episode II and the way he draws her later on. The pointy ears are because she's a cat to me and she had those in Hyperspace Stories #5. Also!!!! I hate the Clone Wars retconning her to be Dathomorian and a NIghtsister and that whole backstory with my entire heart. Story-wise I prefer sticking to the Legends stories in the early 00s' comics (specifically Star Wars: Republic #60). So Rattatak (her Legends home planet) and her original origin story are very near and dear to my heart. This is important. (btw I'm mostly not OCfying her I'm just mixing up some of her versions. mostly.)

Next up: tattoos and marks! made up too much lore for that but here's a bit: I mixed and matched her Legends and canon designs, and changed their meanings because they have fuckass actual meanings. the two things that kinda look like her eyebrows are from TCW and I took them and made them into her family tattoos. In MY mind, those are passed through generations in Rattataki families (by the mother) and those two are the Ventress tatts from the Ventress family. Other than that we have (in the left pic) the 12 (did not draw 12 but there are 12, 6 on each side) tattoos from her Legends design. Their actual explanation is that she got one for each of Ky's killers she murdered. But that's weird so instead for my ver they're mourning tattoos that she got after Ky's death. The things under her eyes are a whole ass mess but they're called decay marks and they're loosely based on concept art and they're basically darker the older/darker sider she gets.

(she has another arm I'm just bad at drawing it) Wanted to draw my interpretation of this outfit with my face design for her but I was not working with the cover as a reference so there's a lot missing. For this one I think it's just the outfit she wears in her later Padawan years on Rattatak, or in my AUs as a padawan in general.

they are a mess but some of my layouts and doodles for her outfits: 1) her on-panel Padawan outfit which is basically just a tank top and cargo pants. wanted to draw it so here we are

2) her ugly ass outfit as a daughter of warlords! girl I know you're like a child but what are you wearing

3) Personal Jedi Robes design but it's just the previous Padawan design with sleeves and more little changes

(can you tell I enjoy drawing her face like that) these are more AU-oriented 4) Inquisitor Asajj design because I thought it'd be cool idk what she'd doing with the Empire tho 5)Temple guard design but I hate their outfits so it doesn't look good 6) just put her TCW Jedi General robes things. go off girl (I have 3 AUs in my head that fit that premise let's move on)

Put them together just because. The drawings have nothing to do with each other 7) This one's story is so complex. But it's basically just a design for Jedi Asajj post-Order 66. Might develop work on it more but I love the way it looks

And the other one: If you followed any of my disarrayed Asajj thoughts lately you might have seen my concept of Mon Mothma/Asajj as a ship. They won't leave my mind so I'm trying to figure out how to draw Mon and that one's something of a design for a younger Senator Mon, for their first meeting or smth idk

OK! just put together some thoughts now that I have visual aid for them. great thanks for coming to my TED talk I will continue talking about Asajj but now I can show you shit instead of just writing words woooohhhh

Kation with one of my favourite evolution lines: Larvitar, Pupitar and Tyranitar! It doesn't like Kation all that much in the beginning cus the catching process was an absolute mess (Kation attempting to walk it on a leash did not help), but they grow onto each other more with time.

Poogle Oogle Analysis 1/2

I made this creature a while ago, this will be one of many species relating to Andrepeth Amori. This will be into two parts; between the wild and domesticated Poogle Oogles :) Have fun reading!

Introduction:

Poogle Oogles (or Oogles/Poogles) are small mammals and reside within groups of Poogle Oogles, formally referred to as a Gnat of Gawks or Gnat for short. These groups have at least 12 but can far exceed that with no clear limit. Their life expectancy on average is quite low, only 1-2 years and mainly inhabit the deciduous forests of Andrepeth Amori.

Appearance:

IMPORTANT- All wild Oogles appear the same, regardless of gender.

- Fur: Poogle Oogles naturally have thick and fluffy pink fur covering the entirety of their body. The fur is long enough to completely encase them to a point their actual body cannot be seen. Their face is a lighter pink in comparison to the rest of their fur and closely resembles the shape of a heart.

- Eyes: Their eyes remain unblinking and wide, hence the origin of their name. Their eyes are solitary and remain in place for the entirety of their lives. Poogles eyes are always black but retain a sort of ‘sparkle’ when looking into them.

- Skin: The skin itself is very soft and a pale cream or pink. Beneath all that fur, there are small flat sacks resembling a deep violet or purple.

- Legs: Poogles have extremely short legs that are not visible at any angle, other than if their belly is exposed to the sky. They are petite, pointy stubs with no significant features. Due to the fur’s length, it completely hides their legs, leading them to become sort of skittering clouds when walking.

- Mouth/Teeth/Throat: Their mouth will remain as a permanent smile, agape or not. The entirety of their mouth and teeth are black (but due to stylistic choices, I prefer to draw the interior of the mouth white). From the naked eye, the teeth will appear to not be there, that is because Poogle Oogles do not have teeth on their upper or lower jaws but instead pharyngeal jaws and teeth that lines the sides of their throat. These teeth are small and thin, but are quite jagged and sharp. They do not have a tongue either.

- Coeur Antlers: These are the sort of ‘horns’ to the Poogle Oogle, stacked on top of each other in a group of three as it is sorted from largest to smallest top to bottom. They are quite shiny and sparkly as well.

- Orb: This is a shiny sphere attached to a thin appendage they can control entirely, which has the tendency to create a sort of swirl as the Poogle develops. It tested to be made from the same properties of the coeur antlers. The orb is biolumiscent and expels a pale pink light.

- Tail: Poogle Oogle’s grow fluffy tails, twisting into a small swirl around the tip of the tail :)

- Ears: They have no visible ears.

- Nose: At the very surface of their skin, resting right above the mouth, lies two incredibly small holes that is functions as a nose. It’s not visible due to how small the holes are.

Properties and Functions:

- Fur: Their fur is quite luscious, being best described as soft, silky, and lightweight. The fur acts a barrier between them and potential predators as the fur is reported to have a foul taste. It also protects them during the colder seasons, as the fur will grow to become much denser and larger to keep them warm.

- Eyes: Poogle Oogles vision is actually quite poor due to the fact they are born slightly crossed eyed and their cornea’s being much denser and translucent rather than transparent. Their cornea’s are slick and hydrophobic, causing infiltrates, object or liquid, to slip off quite easily. If they are damaged, this runs the risk of permanent damage and in some cases, is able to blind the Poogle. From their perspective, it’s extremely blurry and only capable of viewing blobs of colors. However, they are not completely lost and familiar colors, such as a gnat will incline them to gravitate towards them. Despite that, their eyes are extremely good at picking up movement, no matter how insignificant it is. Even at a distance where they cannot comprehend specific details, they can tell if something or someone is moving. They do indeed have eyelids but those are only utilized when sleeping.

- Skin: There are small sacks resembling flat marbles at the surface of the skin. The texture can be best described as rubbery but smooth. They eject long, thin thorns when they detect the Poogle is being tampered with, as the sacks have an abundance of nerves. A telltale sign of this is an unnatural or unexpected touch to the fur and/or skin. This is an autonomic ability. These small sacks are filled with a venom containing a neurotoxin. This venom is administered when the Oogle’s thorns pierce the flesh of the attacker. This neurotoxin attacks the nervous system, weakening the muscles and bodily functions and used to paralyze their attackers. (Anonocons stabbed by their thorns report feeling fatigued and confused before the paralysis set in) It is not deadly, it only works to temporarily restrain their attacker. The neurotoxin works extremely quickly, in approximately 3 minutes but can work faster if there is a higher dosage.

- Legs: Poogle Oogles are much faster than they appear, their light fur allows them to move with surprising agility and speed.

- Mouth/Teeth/Throat: Their pharyngeal jaws can extend and retract out their mouth to clamp onto their prey. They are sharp and dig deep into flesh, and are quite durable and strong. Once they clamp onto their prey, it’s very difficult to get them off as they lock their jaws. Poogle bites are not uncommon in Andrepeth Amori. They have a slimy, gray saliva that they use to assist in sliding the food down their throat.

- Coeur Antlers: Coeur Antlers expel crimson spores that when inhaled, causing an increase in oxytocin and dopamine. These spores are used primarily for mating within their own species, alerting a fellow Oogle of their sexual desire. These can be expelled by both female and male Poogles. Breeding can come at any time, but it is mostly done during the aftermath of a cold season, with the cold, their numbers will decrease, thus done to replenish the population. But sex during the warmer days is out the question, as a way to sort of prepare for the oncoming loss in the gnat.

- Orb: This sphere can glow to the Oogle’s will. It mostly serves to lure potential prey to their demise, but can also be used to see better within the dark. Seeing a herd of glowing Poogles is not uncommon on Andrepeth Amori.

- Tail: Just a cute little attachment :)

- Ears: Poogle Oogles have no visible nor external ears. Oogles are essentially deaf, but they do have a method of sensing sound. Similar to snakes, they possess a manipulated columella, a small bone connected to the jaw bone, enabling them to sense and feel vibrations. This ability is vital for their survival as the footsteps of their prey notifies them of their location, allowing them to escape from potential predators. This skill is quite impressive and known to be extremely sensitive, the slightest shift, air or by ground, allows them to pinpoint exactly where you are.

- Nose: Contrary to it being nearly unviewable, Poogle Oogles can distinct scents from one another very well, even at a distance, they can pick up on particular odors. This is also vital for their survival, as injured animals are often a target of becoming ambushed once their scent is picked up. Not only that, but Poogles release a scent unique to their own species that only they can smell, a useful ability to make sure the Gnat stays together.

Magical properties:

Poogle Oogles are one of many animas that use magic on Andrepeth Amori, but this ability is limited to only one purpose; leaping and jumping. Their legs don’t allow them to naturally jump on their own, so they use a bit of sorcery to do so. Jumping is primarily used to ambush their prey by landing on their back or by gaining altitude to escape predators or dire situations. This is mainly done through summoning invisible trampolines that launch them into the air and allow them to sort of bounce around or travel to high places.

Diet/Hunting Habits:

Poogle Oogles are carnivorous creatures, but are capable of eating certain fruits or vegetation, but in no way take up a significant portion of their diet. They hunt during sunset and capture prey in Gnat of 20-25 Poogles via the glow of their Orb as a deceptive tactic. Once the prey is close enough, the others will pounce, many will attack via ground and or by jumping onto the prey’s back. It is then that they will clamp their jaws onto their flesh and by then, their prey is entirely swarmed.

Oogles have been reported to tear apart the flesh of their prey and consume them whilst they are still alive. There have been multiple instances of them pulling off their skin and burrowing inside the flesh to consume the organs. All of their prey is guaranteed to be decimated and left in a heap of bones or hardly recognizable. If the Oogles venom poisons their prey, the Gnat are not affected.

Gnat Relationship:

They value their species very much and rely on each other for survival, so there is no distinct social hierarchy in the species. Every Oogle you’ll see out in the wild is guaranteed to have a gnat nearby, but in very rare instances, can be separated by their group - mainly during weather crises. Poogle Oogles are very protective and territorial of their species and do whatever it takes to survive if it means the rest can survive. This comes to dire consequences at times as phenomenons such as cannibalism as a last resort if has become rash. Compared to other species, such as bumblebees, they will not kick out their own kind, but will eat them instead.

Reproduction and Growth stages:

When female and male intercourse occur between Oogles, a bae (or baby Poogle Oogle) will be born. A bae’s growth is never fluidly consistent with the species and based solely on the conditions of the environment they were born within and how well fed they were. If the food flow and care was consistent, a Poogle will grow healthily, but never at the same rate as others, even within their own nest. A Poogle is much more likely to die premature or stillborn if born during colder seasons or poor living conditions, it’s especially worse if the mother is not taken care of well enough.

On average, a mother will produce at least 5 baes for each litter they produce, but can exceed that, with the highest reporting to be 11. A pregnant Poogle will externally appear the same but their behaviors will differ, as she becomes much more susceptible to fatigue. Her and her mating partner will begin to prepare the nest for their children. The mother will stay in the nest for the majority of her pregnancy and the male partner will take priority over themselves to feed the female Oogle. On average, the female Oogle will give birth to two batches in her entire lifetime. There are 3 stages that an Oogle has in its lifetime - infant, adolescent, and adult.

Infancy - at this stage, a Poogle has a short layer of fuzz for fur, no antlers, no teeth and a very short orb. They are blind, have a heightened sense of smell, have their eyes closed, have a much harder time hearing and cannot walk. A bae’s cries can alert fellow prey and thus, the nursing Oogle are greatly protected by the Gnat and are given priority over anyone else. If a threat manages to break way into the nest, the two parents will place their young into their mouths and quickly flee. Mother Poogle Oogles will sing by a series of low purrs and hums to soothe and bond with their young. Despite their poor hearing, that is all they can properly hear. Fathers are also entirely present in their children’s lives and will go as far as to perform regurgitation if there is no sufficient food source. Mothers chew the food for their young into a paste before spitting it back up for her children to swallow; her saliva allows the food to slide down the infants throat as their own has not been developed. This is a required process as this runs the risk of the bae choking.

Adolescent - Their eyes have opened and will remain as such. Their antlers have begun to sprout, but are much more susceptible to damage and are much more skittish around the hint of danger. The adolescent is now capable of walking, but even this ability is a bit limited, so the young ride on the backs of their mothers and fathers until they learn to do it on their own properly. At this stage, a parenting Poogle is reported to be much more dangerous and hostile, known for snapping at Anonocons that get too close to them or their nests.

Adult - This is the stage they are most often witnessed to be on, their orb, antlers and fur has grown out entirely. At this stage, the Oogle no longer needs its parents and are free to leave the nest to create their own.

Elder? - Not an official stage, but long living Oogles (3+ years) have been observed to have been nearly blind, have poorer hearing, and the agility they once had as an adult is much worse. Once this is noticed by the Gnat, the Poogle Oogle cannibalise the ‘Elder Oogle’ as a way to savor resource for the inevitable colder seasons.

Communication:

As mentioned before, mother Oogles are capable of singing, but this is possible with all Oogles and is a method of both communication and greeting within the Gnat. When within the Gnat is when these sounds are most likely to be heard, especially when huddled together. But these are also sounds they make individual.

As a method of creating community and socialization reported by many researcher’s is the infrequent chance of a Gnat to congregate and heightened their purring into warbles, shrieks, and trills. Although the sounds on their own is rather adorable, these are sounds that have never been reported to be heard before other than during these phenomenons. Researchers dub these as ‘conventions’ due to their acts of togetherness and conversation to an extent. For reasons yet to be discovered, these events only occur during the night and at random intervals of the year. The shrieks can be quite terrifying to surrounding animals and many traveling Anonocons have reported witnessing these events. There is a common superstition that many travelers report; their shriek is directed toward the night sky and many scientists and researchers theorize they are practicing a method worship. Who or what that is directed at is unknown.

The tail will slowly sway when they spot potential, unrecognized movement, defaulting on their normally upright, stiff stance. This is meant to alert their fellow Poogles there is something or someone nearby moving, allowing them time to be on the defense if attacked. This swaying can increase to the equivalent of wagging; thumping. Their tail will begin rapidly move up and down, softly hitting the ground with their tail. This occurs when the Poogle experiences an increase of happiness or pleasure, such as the birth of a litter, but mainly during intercourse and once orgasm has been reached.

Sleeping:

Poogle Oogles sleep immediately after their final hunt during a sunset. By the time they have finished eating, nighttime would fall and the Gnat would seek a shaded, dark place of the forest to sleep. The Poogle Oogles will huddle tightly together and got to sleep :3

Impact on Andrepeth Amori:

Anonocons often consider wild Poogle Oogles more as an annoying pest than their domesticated counterparts. Although it is well documented fact that Oogles can be quite dangerous, they aren’t taken very seriously and being pricked by one can be easily dealt with. A wild Oogle making its way onto the busy streets is uncommon but not rare for Patrollers designated to keep such animals off the road. Their reputation is due to their large litters of baes, many have been reported Oogles being born en masse in a nearby forest, only for a hoard of them to raid the meat market and clean the entire stock - these opinions stem from the infuriated butchers and sellers who have to occasionally deal with their entire supply of goods being eaten in a matter of minutes. Down the line of their existence, Poogle Oogles have been domesticated and classified as exotic pets primarily owned by the rich.

This caused a lot of socioeconomic tension as although the domesticated Poogle Oogles present no harm to the butchers, seeing one is enough to make them mad. The rich are quite inconsiderate and are openly smug about their pets, some even proudly displaying them whilst in the meat market. Although butchers usually hold their tongue and bear it, there are few that go out of their way to target Poogles and will kill them, domesticated or not, if they manage to wrangle their way into their things or property.

Miscellaneous:

They cannot swim. Any Poogle who accidentally slips into a body of water and cannot escape is a guaranteed death for them. How they manage to maintain their skin and fur’s cleanliness is called into question - that is through rain.
