My dearest friends, i've been made aware of the existence of this rather old and obscure game engine, built mainly for an audience of portuguese speakers. Hope you enjoy!

Guys, please, Tango doesn't consider himself a builder in the same way Michelangelo might not consider himself a painter* (see tags). You can accept you're very good at two things, and still consider yourself better at one over the other. It's not negative talk when he calls himself a redstone guy.

as an autistic board games fan how do u feel about balatros theming. i feel like it really embodies the pacing of an engine builder but more importantly the way you can grab and move the cards and blinds is so sensory
the ux is next level, its 50% of the appeal. built from the assumption that making a video game about physical deckbuilding is already a little weird, sells the physicality super hard to compensate. scoring feels like watching marbles bounce down a pachinko machine even though it's completely deterministic. the faux 3d effects are so scrumptious its unbelievable

Looking at your recent commissions, those backgrounds are soo pretty!! Do you have any tips for backgrounds? I always struggle with them :>
aAA many many thanks!!
backgrounds can absolutely be a struggle but they don't have to be! they just require a little more creative planning~!
whether it be a commission or a personal drawing, if I'm building an elaborate art piece i focus on establishing the background First.
the background is the stage for your character! planning the background first will make it easier to tailor the character's actions and how they interact with the environment around them.
planning the background first can be the difference between your character standing awkwardly front and center with the setting going on behind them, or actually participating in their environment.
Tumblr media
if i'm super stumped for background ideas, i browse stock image sites to get inspiration. sometimes it helps to doodle on an image to generate some ideas - kinda like you're playing with JPEGs like dolls.
that said - while i'm pinpointing WHAT i want to draw, i keep the ideas loose. i don't want to focus on the itty-bitty details until i've got the overall aesthetic and layout in mind, as i might get inspired to add something in later!
Tumblr media
THUMBNAILING
if you're planning a big piece it can be helpful to break it down into something bite-sized before you go all in and start lining or painting. these are "thumbnails" - fast little sketches that establish the scene in a way that doesn't consume a lot of time or effort. it's also great as a little perspective exercise as a treat.
here i decided i want to draw a character walking home in a back alley street. with these photo references in mind, i can plan a layout and how the character will act in the scene. is this a candid shot? are they posing cutely? are they looking down at us in a tense way? there are many ideas to be had!
Tumblr media
after you've chosen the layout / vibe for your idea, you can scale up your thumbnail to your preferred canvas size and start fleshing out the details. be sure to keep referring to your reference images to get additional ideas, such as storefronts, items, props etc!
3D MODELS
If you're trying to create a unique environment that photo references simply cannot help you visualize, 3D models exist! This gives you that ability to rotate / scale things for better visualization. Clip Studio has a vast catalogue of 3D models to download For Free that you can fiddle around with. i know there are many 3D builder sites out there as well, though i've never made use of them so i'm afraid i cannot recommend any off the top of my head. hell, you can even use the Sims game to design a setting and go from there!
also if anyone is going to come into my house and say 3D models are cheating: they are not. using a 3D model to better grasp an angle or get a better idea for perspective is not cheating. using 3D models to help plan the environment in your art is not cheating. they are no different than brushes; these are tools made to HELP YOU. use them!
PERSPECTIVE
perspective and angles can make a HUGE difference in the art piece. there's nothing wrong with static long shots! if that's what you want to draw, do it!! there's no right and wrong here!
but if you're finding your work to be a little robotic and stiff, slap an angle in there. consider an overhead view. these same techniques are applied to photography and film! nothing wrong with wide shots, but every once in a while it can help to throw in a dutch angle.
Tumblr media
if there is one note i'd like to leave off on, it's that your backgrounds do not have to be 100% accurate-to-life to be Good. unless realism is something you're really striving for in your style, don't feel compelled to nitpick every brick and leaf in your art. us artists can tend to over-prune our work until our art looks a little bare and soulless. flaws can give your work character, and that's often a lot more appealing than how accurate the scale ratio between background building A and building B are [again, unless you WANT to go for that realistic look then you can fuss over those details all you like].
i hope this helped a little! MY APOLOGIES FOR MAKING IT SO LONG AH

I've long maintained that the real heroes of Bethesda are the people who's names you don't know.
Lighting artists. World builders. Sound designers. 3D modelers. Voice actors. Concept artists. Etc.
It is woefully easy for people at the top of a company to steal credit for the success and quality of a game, product, series etc. but the work, the *real* work of making something quality and memorable comes from the many many people who fly under the radar of the general public and the fandom.
That broad lack of recognition is a big part of why I started this blog.
I knew that at the very least, I could help spread awareness of the artists of Bethesda's games. Concept artists, like the others, have their work shared and seen by many. However, few can name the person or people who made the art or designs from TES that are so beloved.
Hopefully this blog and this small community of people here can do some good and help shine the light on people who's names are still broadly unknown to the fandom.

If ft played video games (part 1- team natsu)
Natsu- he doesn't like most video games cuz he doesn't like sitting still for that long and he gets frustrated with the delicate controls or when he keeps losing. The only thing he plays is Wii sports resort, he would destroy anyone at Wii tennis any day of the week.
Lucy- she wasn't allowed video games growing up but through a network of her father's business partners, servants, family friends and other people who owed her a favour she manages to smuggle herself a second hand 3ds that she kept secret from everyone. The 3ds is pink. It's old, covered in stickers and fingerprints, but is still in perfect condition from when she got it. No scratches or cracks at all because Lucy was SUPER careful with it. She doesn't play a lot of video games but she will sometimes pull out the 3ds to play something just for old times sake.
Gray- In my heart gray is an art guy and is especially picky about 3D games and graphics, if a game has shitty rendering it just makes him angry on a primal level. He tends to play a lot the popular fps but he is also an absolute Mario kart champ, number 1 Mario kart player (it used to be erza and she didn't speak to him for like a day after he took her crown).
Erza- she plays very competitive games, fps and fighting especially. She actually loves rpgs but she's banned from playing them because she will stop eating and sleeping. Also I'm gonna say it. She would fw cool math games. She's a full year into her papas burgeria playthrough and she won't be stopping anytime soon.
Wendy- she romeo and chelia are all friends on switch. She likes animal crossing and pokemon especially. She has never actually completed the story of sword and shield cuz she was too busy making currys for her pokemon and playing with them at the campsites. Despite her love of the camping feature she is actually a really good team builder, she plays competitive pokemon all the time and her team is actually stacked.
Happy doesn't play video games outside of Wii with natsu and Carla claims they are childish but secretly she steals Wendy's switch to play animal crossing because he perfect island needs tending too

🎄 Buydebug Advent Calendar 🎁 It starts -> here
☃️ December 26 ❄️
😱 BASEGAME 🙀 Part 3 and last part!
Oh my, we're through! When I start something I never know if I make it through because ADHD, so I'm very proud of me ;) The last part of basegame buydebug and the last part of this advent calendar. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I finally did this. Now I have a resource to remind me of the great buydebug stuff.
So we are now in the last third of basegame buydebug. Today I thought that a lot of these awesome shell buildings are great for new builders. You can place them and then you try to rebuild them. So you have a one to one copy in 3D, you see where to place the windows, how long the walls are...
Tumblr media
There are also the entrances to the secret places.
Tumblr media
These awesome signs
Tumblr media
Strange cats and dogs, more signs, the earth pile for our next special ;)... logs for your fireplace...
Tumblr media
Great clutter, even a whole makeup set! And the phone and tablet are even on!
Tumblr media
All the harvestables are in buydebug too (you can search them by their name, sugar and flour too) and the trees (some as earth piles but just shiftclick and you can set their growth stage) All the skill books. Next to the open notebook is even a pile of money!
Tumblr media
And almost at the end are these great wall plants, I try to keep them in mind. There is also the cowplant (as a little earth pile with horns to the far right, shiftclick to set it to fully grown).
Tumblr media
More boats and even a boat trailer. If only we had a car for it ;)
Tumblr media
And rocks. They come with a lot of packs and in many different colors. I use them often to build caves.
Tumblr media
Caves in my game
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isn't it strange/weird/scary that it exactly worked out? Around mid december I thought 'oh my there aren't enough packs to make it until 24th!' (because my ADHD brain never plans stuff through hahaha) There are a lot of game packs that don't have anything remarkable in buydebug and most smaller packs either. But then I went from day to day and it worked out precisely! (Or I forgot something, but I don't think so ^^') So this had been the only year to make such an advent calender because next year there's more packs and buydebugs. Crazy ö.Ö'

Okay, poll time regarding an important purchase in my day-to-day life.
In short, I am ready to upgrade from my (glances to the Acer laptop that's been dead for a year) laptop...
I now have a very big budget (it's considered big in my country) that I got over the summer to finally spend it on an upgrade.
I need a poll because now I got an idea to buy a PC, which is dangerous territory for me for numerous reasons. Some background: I haven't had a PC since I was 14, I got my laptop (which is dead now) right as I entered high school, and it was a cheap one, it couldn't even run Minecraft without lagging which at the time pissed off my gamer childhood self.
But, as a functioning, employed adult, I finally did it. I finally saved up enough money to buy a new device.
The accesibility & portability of laptops is def what I need overall for my professional life. They're not a MUST at my work place at all, but it would be NICE to be able to access my documents on laptop & edit them there or during the way home rather than go to the office again for the PC.
Here’s the thing. The laptop I can afford is not better by performance against the gaming PC I can afford.
Why a gaming PC?
Because I am a whimsical little shit. I see a program and I want to master it for hobby's sake, or just cus I'm that curious. What if I one day want to pick up Blender or 3D sculpting or some shit just to try it?! It's happened before, and it continues happening. I jump from hyperfixation to hyperfixation like a ping pong ball. A laptop at the price range I want to buy won't be able to run complex games or Blender.
The childhood me, in my soul, wants that freaking PC. But my basic normal thought process is also aware if I get a gaming PC it may distract me from my work bcs... Well the PC will be able to do EVERYTHING. At least I'm self-aware enough of that.
Another thing is...
Durability & longer-life & upgradability
I can always upgrade the PC, I know my way around PC hardware. The PC will last me longer than the laptop probably will, and I can't upgrade the laptop.
But then I have no portability & always-accessibility the laptop offers, and if I get the laptop it will be for work, Photoshop & fic writing if I get used to it (I won't, I hate writing on laptops). Which is perfect, I'll be able to do my work even on the go, I can carry it with me, etc etc and I WON'T BE DISTRACTED.
So! I guess, vote bcs at this point I'll toss a goddamn coin! And before anyone asks, no I won't put the Macbook on the list, I like having my liver, thank you.
My biggest fear is that I've grown so used to the laptop interface if I buy a PC I'll just take time re-configuring my brain to use it, so what if I hate it? I have so many fears, and I don't want to waste my money and then go like "ugh, I'm disappointed". I'm used to reading on the laptop, typing on the laptop, working on the laptop, etc. I have all PC peripherals except a monitor but the IT stores are having huge discounts & sales now I can grab one from anywhere at this point so that doesn't concern me a lot.
This is a purchase I'll treat myself with for my birthday. I've spoken to friends, some say laptop, some say PC. Anyway, here is the poll. I'll put it for today.
I just love both but I have to pick, but I can't. Laptop is more familiar to me now than a PC 🤣 a PC would be dangerous cus I will def get the urge to play games instead of WORKING, but on the off hours it'd be a party 🤣
For info, the
PC would be
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: RX 6600
RAM: 16GB
That is the overall idea and I even found a custom pc builder in my country, too, if the prebuilt ones are too expensive, haha.
Laptop Models:
Lenovo Ideapad 3 with Ryzen 5, 16Gb RAM, Integrated Intel GPU
Lenovo V15 G5, also Ryzen 5, 16gb ram, integrated Intel GPU

You've tempted me enough, which one of the like five cookie run games do u recommend
what have I done.
okay but for my serious answer it really depends what kind of mobile games you like! I’ll name the pros and cons of the 4 games that are like. most popular/actually playable rn:
(this got long. under the cut it goes)
cookie run: kingdom
PROS:
admittedly the one I’ve sunk the most hours into
It’s a city builder!! You can make really cool kingdoms the community is creative with that even if that side isn’t very loud or prominent. There are some MASTERPIECES
while the battling can be very samey, it’s also fun and can be genuinely difficult at times if (like me) you aren’t super good at games! there is a lot of tactics you can use for harder story levels
the story is genuinely interesting and while all the cookie language can make me wince, this game has also made me cry before and it’s very compelling when it wants to be
CONS:
Where do I even begin
PAY TO WIN. like. Technically you don’t have to, I haven’t spent a dime on CRK and I don’t plan to, but if you take one look at the arena leaderboard you’ll see it’s full of whales
It’s a gacha game, and while all the CR games are gacha games at least on some level, it’s most prominent in CRK. Get lucky (beginners luck seemed to be a thing though so idk maybe you will)
The story is interesting sure but the lore is WILD and keeps GOING . one hit after the other. we try our best here
Cookie Run: Ovenbreak
PROS:
my favourite my little baby girl (I haven’t touched it in a month I haven’t played the latest update)
In terms of gameplay? By FAR my favourite, an actual endless runner game.
The least gacha dependant game ! Only really the costume and the treasure gacha
The costumes SLAP like THEY GO SO HARD
CONS
Even I don’t fully understand Ovenbreak Lore there’s like 80 diff things happening at once story wise
Despite the fact that the cookies are no longer dependant on the gacha system to get, that doesn’t mean I enjoy the system that is present instead now (if the star candy system has no haters I’m dead)
The graphics… are a mixed bag. bc on one hand there are stunning cutscene arts, costumes, and newer cookies look gorgeous. on the other hand
Tumblr media
what happened to my son
Cookie Run: Witches Castle
PROS:
Honestly this one’s gonna be very brief, I don’t play this one
It’s a match game though!
Characters and lore seem very interesting but I just couldn’t get into it
CONS:
I can’t really do this for a game I played once
BUT I didn’t really understand the gacha system when I did so like that’s worth mentioning
Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures
PROS:
Game came out less than a month ago, I don’t have everything unlocked yet as well, BUT I do play it
This game is so cute the 3D graphics are AMAZING
Gameplay is very fun!!! The stages are all designed well and currently it’s a blast to play
CONS:
not many atm really this game is very new
INCREASE THE MOVEMENT SPEED IM BEGGING PLEASE PLESSE PLESDR PLEASE PLEASE
this is probably a me issue but my luck in this game is absolute ass so
I’m so fucking hungry but I can’t reheat my pizza bc the electrics off so this is how I spend my time waiting for a reply about that. enjoy
BONUS!!!
ranking them on the recommendation scale:
Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures
Cookie Run: Kingdom
Cookie Run: Ovenbreak
Cookie Run: Witches Castle

3D Printing in Architecture
Tumblr media
3D printing, once a novelty in the tech world, has now firmly established itself as a game-changer in various industries, including architecture. The ability to create intricate models, prototypes, and even full-scale structures has opened up new possibilities for architects, engineers, and builders. In this blog post, we'll explore how 3D printing is revolutionizing architecture, from design concepts to construction practices.
Design Innovation
One of the most significant impacts of 3D printing in architecture is the freedom it provides in design. Traditional methods often limit architects to certain shapes and structures due to material and construction constraints. However, with 3D printing, these limitations are lifted. Architects can now experiment with complex geometries and organic forms that were previously impossible or too costly to achieve. This has led to a surge in innovative designs, pushing the boundaries of what architecture can be.
Prototyping and Modeling
Before the advent of 3D printing, creating detailed architectural models was a time-consuming and expensive process. With 3D printing, architects can quickly produce accurate scale models of their designs, allowing for better visualization and refinement. This rapid prototyping capability enables architects to identify potential issues early in the design process, saving time and resources in the long run. Additionally, clients can better understand the architect's vision through tangible models, leading to more effective communication and collaboration.
Sustainability and Efficiency
3D printing also offers significant benefits in terms of sustainability and construction efficiency. Traditional construction methods often generate a considerable amount of waste due to material overuse and mistakes. In contrast, 3D printing uses only the necessary amount of material, significantly reducing waste. Additionally, many 3D printing materials can be recycled or are made from sustainable resources, making this technology more environmentally friendly.
Moreover, 3D printing can streamline the construction process. Structures can be printed on-site, reducing the need for transportation and minimizing the carbon footprint associated with moving materials and equipment. This method also allows for faster construction times, which is particularly beneficial for large-scale projects or emergency housing needs.
Cost-Effective Construction
The cost of building with traditional methods can be prohibitive, especially for complex or custom designs. 3D printing offers a more cost-effective alternative by reducing labor costs and material waste. The precision of 3D printing ensures that only the exact amount of material needed is used, which not only lowers costs but also increases the structural integrity of the building. For developing countries or regions with limited resources, 3D printing presents a viable solution for affordable housing and infrastructure.
Challenges and Future Prospects
While 3D printing in architecture holds great promise, it is not without challenges. The technology is still relatively new, and large-scale 3D printing for buildings requires further development. Issues such as material limitations, regulatory hurdles, and the need for skilled operators must be addressed. However, ongoing research and innovation in the field are likely to overcome these challenges in the coming years.

Forgotten Shovelware
I did not use After Effects for this, just Affinity Photo and Capcut, and screen to gif
I actually used Nintendo's Mii Builder to make a reference Mii before going in and adding in my own elements.
Tumblr media
I mostly kept the head, body, and mouth shape, while flipping the nose shape upside down. I was planning to heavily modify the eyes and hair, but I wound up just making them from scratch. The Ears, Goggles, and arms are also completely original.
The 3D effect is a combination of of gradients and bevel effects, because 3D modeling is annoying.
The character animation was created by moving the layers around by hand... er... mouse. Kinda sorta like digital stop motion.
The background was inspired by this:
Tumblr media
As far as I can tell, Capcut doesn't let you make gradients, much less animate them, which is why the background is actually a screen recording. I'm dragging a hue slider in Affinity Photo just off screen. It's a really silly solution, but it works.
If the font looks familiar, its because it's Shin Go, a font used in a lot of Wii games.
All of the post processing effects are from Capcut except for the pixellation. In order to make the pixels look right and keep things from looking too silly, I applied the effect by hand to each of the layers. If I did a lazy version of the pixel effect on the entire image, it probably would've been to blurry to make out.
