I had a really fun Katsucon, and there were a ton of Zelda cosplayers who were very excited to see other Zelda cosplayers and nerd out.

When I first started doing this, back in the fall of 2019- I went and followed anyone with a Zelda cosplay. If they were local, I tried to be friends. And then 2020 happened and I started trying too hard to be friends and in some cases I alienated people. So I had to tell myself to back off and sometimes I was okay at that and sometimes not. Anyway, there is a local guy who was doing an incredible Twilight Princess Link and I wanted to be like him so bad it was incredible but I think I kinda freaked him out and he was always polite but distant. So I respected that and eventually did find people to yell with, even if their preferred fandom was Metroid.

A month ago I was at a con and an Astarian cosplayer crosses my path as I’m rolling in Link and he smiled and greets me as he passes and I was like I think that’s TP Link and that was cool.

Saturday night of this con, I go to chat a Link in the frostbite set and he is talking to that same Astarian and it is, indeed, this local TP Link. And he goes “HEY I follow your Instagram and your stuff is so good!”

And I almost fell on the floor but I managed to keep myself together long enough to reply “Omg, when I started doing this, your Link was one I aspired to.”

“Oh stop!” He says. “You’re better at this than me. Can we get a photo together?”

So we did and I managed to keep my shit together just long enough to not have a whole Senpai noticed me moment in front of anyone.

Like damn, that was so cool, and definitely a high point.

What do I do?!

I’m so torn between different activities, I’m really at a loss. I want nothing more than to really flesh out my Dragon Age OC, Cybil. I love her and her mabari Boris so much! Maybe some OC prompt responses? I’m not entirely sure of the correct formatting for choosing and responding to those.

I just spent a couple of hours drawing with my tablet trying to get even a semi-decent likeness of her, though shaky hands have really been a hindrance and the frustration burnt me out. I figure ‘okay, that’s fine, I’ll work on my fics,’ as there are two I’m working on right now. But now I don’t know which to work on--one was meant to be a one-shot with my Inquisitor and Cullen that’s now kind of turned into at least two chapters, mainly because there are a couple of ways I could proceed with it but what I really want to do would fit more into a larger story for it to make sense? If that makes sense. 

Cybil (my kennel master agent) and Dog Days was meant to really be my main focus but this second story I’ve randomly started (the one that was supposed to be a short fluff story) has a potential plot point that makes me want to write more of a full Inquisitor fic. Like, I don’t want to skip to this big part of Inquisition’s story without kind of fleshing out the rest of it? If I decide to write the story from her POV eventually anyway. Ah it’s so hard to explain. I’m just rambling at this point, I’m so sorry. I’m the worst. 

All of my rambling aside, I suppose I should just ask, when you have a couple of different projects floating around in your head, what do you do to prioritize it? How do you decide which to work on and what formats to use, and which direction to go in when there are a few different possibilities? I suppose I could just make the second story more of a works series vs. one big story. Anyone who chooses to read it surely already knows the basic Inquisition plot point and wouldn’t need all of the nitty gritty details, but eh..

I’m no stranger to chronic daydreaming about what I could write, but I am new to actually writing it, especially with intents to post it and share it with whomever wants to read it. 

I’m going to be bold here and tag a few fic authors for your thoughts--if you don’t have the time or emotional energy to engage with this that is completely understandable, but any thoughts would be welcome!
