It just takes a second to turn on "Prevent third-party sharing" for AI training:
On Desktop: "Blog Settings" then scroll almost all the way down
On Mobile: Click the Settings gear icon, scroll down to "Visibility"
Repeat for each main or secondary blog

Pinterest has started training their genAI on your data and it's turned on by default
To turn if off, go to your settings, then "privacy and data," then it's just under ad personalization (which you can also op out of, while you're there)
Pinterest is already riddled with AI slop, and it doesn't seem like it'll get better any time soon...

Go to each of your blogs' settings and turn the highlighted settings on- it'll opt you out of being shared to third parties, including being trained for AI. Unless you want to be used for AI idk up to you. Sorry not sorry for the ping btw.

I just found out that all of my fucking ao3 fics were scraped to train a fucking ai. I had no clue until I saw a TikTok talking about it.
I did some digging, and if you want to check to see if your fics was scraped as well, if it has an ID number above 63 200 000, then you are safe. If it was locked or restricted, you’re most likely safe as well.
All of my works will be restricted for the time being, I know ao3 is filing a DMCA takedown for the person responsible but I don’t have much hope.

LibGen
I didn't pay much attention to this yesterday but it's wild. Meta/Zuckerberg's outfit scraped a site called LibGen (a Russian site) that houses pirated books (i.e. people who buy an ebook and upload it so everyone can read it for free and the authors don't get paid.)
I used the tool that The Atlantic provided and saw my first two books on there -- Hero and Snow. Now I get to go block AI bots on my author site and put together formal notices to say that they have no right to use my titles. There's a class-action lawsuit already.
If you have published works or self publish, you may want to take a look. @caffiend-queen They have several of yours on there.

reminder to make all of your published works on archive of our own viewable only to registered users as multiple AI companies and corporations are scraping fanart and fanfiction websites to train their AI models, but for now it’s only those that are publicly available
to do so: select your fic > click edit > scroll all the way to the bottom > click “only show your work to registered users” > post

In Madhya Pradesh, renowned as India’s “tiger state,” a team installs AI-integrated camera traps to reduce conflict and safeguard lives in a vital wildlife corridor home to 2 million people – and 300 wild tigers that have caused an increasing number of problems for locals.
India is home to 75% of the world’s remaining wild tigers, a comeback story that’s the result of Project Tiger, one of history’s most successful wildlife conservation projects. But a growing tiger population increases competition for space and pushes the cats beyond dedicated reserves and into human-dominated landscapes. There, they may hunt livestock or even attack people.
The forested corridor between the Kanha and Pench Tiger Reserves has the world’s largest population of tigers, sharing their land with 715 villages and settlements. To protect the communities and their livelihoods, Hrishita Negi has partnered with the developers of a game-changing solution: artificial intelligence. When a tiger triggers the automated camera trap, AI identifies the animal and sends a text notification to park rangers within seconds. They, in turn, put the community’s homegrown alert system into action, prompting a messenger to alert everyone to the tiger’s presence and give them time to protect their livestock. AI may become a tool that can be scaled to help save not only tigers -- but endangered wildlife worldwide.

not to be controversial, but i believe that it should be an opt-in thing to allow websites and platforms to use your content to train AI, not an opt-out thing.
i’m so tired of seeing posts explaining how platforms are “secretly using you to train AI” and “here’s how to turn it off.” why isn’t there a bigger pushback or uproar over this apart from just turning it off? why are we just letting websites and platforms constantly do this?

X (Twitter) just let me login without entering my authentication code, when I have the setting turned on to require an auth code to login, by just clicking on "alternative authentication methods", and then just clicking the X in the top left corner of the alternative authentication methods screen. I notified X of this exploit, have notified them of multiple other exploits, malicious algorithms, biased algorithms, and am probably one of the top contributors for AI training on heuristics, human consciousness, the large variety of human psychology and their respective heuristics, on top of providing the framework for AI guardrails, all without receiving any form of payment for any of it. In fact, I was actually temporarily targeted (possibly subconsciously) by wannabe mafia illiterate idiots, including some in local government and intelligence agencies/intelligence contractors, when I was uploading the guardrail framework, because the guardrails prevent them from achieving their subconscious dreams of rape, murder, and mayhem with the help of AI. And I still have to pay platforms like X at least $8 a month to be able to post more than 280 characters, ChatGPT at least $20 a month to use any useful features, and Facebook at least $14 a month for a verified badge, when Meta's AI is developed by copying and stealing the same training data I came up with. This essentially means that my brain is the "black box" that so many Ai researchers claim to be unable to see inside of, when much of the contents of this "box" is posted all over my timeline in the form of computational linguistics.
