#my reading for class is discussing how whiteness is seen as neutral in the US while other races are seen as races #and i was thinking abt ppl using the yellow vs skin-toned emojis #(i'd rather use the yellow ones bc imo asserting whiteness as race can come off as white supremacist-y)#(but i'd love to read discussions of it from POC)#anyway then i was remembering this bizarre thing that happened when i was working with the bakery #i was assigned the task of taking inventory on the loaves we'd baked in a day and sending that amount to the number-cruncher #i've now forgotten her name #and she always sent me the dark-skinned thumbs-up to indicate that she'd gotten my numbers #which i was so pleased by bc everyone i'd met at the company was white #(cincinnati is 40% Black for context)#i was the only jewish person #i felt like she and i were secret allies against the overwhelming WASPiness of the company #i never said anything bc i didn't want to be weird #but it was a nice parasocial thing so i didn't feel so alone among all the normative whites #anyway i finally meet her one time when i'm at the main location #AND SHE WAS WHITE TOO!!#the /betrayal/#they finally hired two latina women later on so at least there was that #we got to share culturally specific stories it was great #but i'm still haunted by this woman #why did she use the dark-skinned emoji???#food mention

You know, it's genuinely sad to me that aging favourite character actors no longer have any fun murder-mystery tv shows to guest-star as murders on.

I want someone over 50 or 60 at least.#and give me more older people with disabilities.
