Since the poll is practically over and the outfit's largely been decided, I'll be dropping the first post to the strip challenge in a couple hours on my Ford Blog @gftimelord to christen it HAHAHHA- (psst go bother him it'll be funny HAHHAHAH) Thanks for the interaction everybody, I only hope to deliver. Here's the first drabble to start it off with since I am pairing every drawing with a story sequence as promised. You could probably think of this as my interpretation for some kind of continuation to Ford's route in "Swooning Over Stans" by @gfdatingsim since I've genuinely been non-stop playing that game since it's recommendation to me. I will balance med proper and my delulu if it's the last thing I do HAHAHAHA-

I Accept Your Challenge!

(Stanford Pines x Reader)

After you heard a new challenge becoming trendy among couples you decide to try it on a certain Stanford Pines; just... you didn't exactly explain to him what the challenge was.

Maybe his competitiveness was a good thing in this case. You at least got a bloody good show out of his cluelessness.

Another slow summer day and you were in the living room of the mystery shack alongside the Pines as they went about doing whatever. Navigating your relationship with a certain scientist definitely somewhat of a learning curve but you digressed. Similar to Dipper and Mabel, you'd receive post cards from the twins about their seafaring adventures; your mail just came with additional special letters from your beloved. All of which you'd neatly stowed away in a bag that you always had with you, no use keeping it at home when you were rarely there.

Often traveling for a nomadic lifestyle was serene and fun at times, but you found yourself missing this place. It felt more like a home to you than your own place did in the couple weeks you'd stuck around after your car got smashed into the side of the log cabin.

Who knew that the same man who totaled your car one day would be the same adorable nerd you now called your lover?

It felt a bit like those romance dramas Stan liked to watch but you quickly dismissed that thought. Fairytales weren't real, fate isn't exactly something you believed in either. Stories of princesses finding their prince charmings were mostly smoke and mirrors, things you'd tell a child to give them hope of a better world than reality.

In gravity falls however... you quickly learned that nothing was truly impossible. Never say never in this small town of Oregon.

You sat on the floor next to Dipper and Mabel as they boredly flipped through TV channels; books, papers and crayons littered about around the three of you. The glass danced with colors from the rapidly flipping images while the twins struggled to find anything even remotely entertaining to watch, you couldn't help but allow your mind to wander from the boredom.

You and Ford spent quite a bit of time since you'd arrived at the beginning of the week, frankly you'd made the trip as soon possible when Stan shot you a message that they'd finally docked to spend the summer with the kiddos. You hoped it wasn't all that obvious how much you missed Stanford, but you didn't really need to worry when he was the one who immediately swamped you up in a hug the second you were out of your car. It's only been two years thus far since you've known the man but Stanley and Mabel insisted that you stay with him in his room, you didn't know why they were so adamant until you saw the state of the man's living quarters.

A whole day was spent with the both of you furnishing and cleaning the said room because of that but neither of you complained, most of the time was spent goofing off anyway.

Now... you were wondering where Ford was, not to mention what he was doing. Was he down in the lab tinkering again? You didn't want to disturb him, but you really wanted to find him. Any time spent apart didn't feel like time used to it's full capacity, even if you did enjoy the company of the other Pines; it just wasn't the same.

At some point, you were bored enough to not necessarily care whether you'd be disturbing Ford's work or not when you went down to the lab. It was just last summer when he taught you how to get down there, as well as spilling more about his past. All of which you simply listened to unless he asked anything; it was better to listen and attempt to understand than say or do something that would make it worse.

Seems like he really wanted to get it off his chest too, be transparent with you; something you appreciated.

You were shaken out of your headspace when you heard the rustling of boxes from the lab, as well as some hushed but frustrated cursing. You didn't really recall a time Ford swore unless he was legitimately ticked off, the man made a valiant effort not to compared to his twin.

But they both had sailor mouths anyhow even if it was fitting.

"Ford? Are you down here?"

"Ah-! [Y/N]! What- what are you doing down here?"

You moved closer to him in an attempt to see what he was doing, even if the man looked a bit rattled to be found like this by you.

"What are you doing?"

"I asked first my dear."

Ford chuckled, shifting to hide something behind his back. You pouted at him and crossed your arms. He couldn't help but smile at how cute you looked doing that.

"Was looking for you, Dipper and Mabel are bored watching TV upstair anyway... sooooo- what are you doing?"

You smiled when Ford returned your inquisitiveness with a small laugh, showing you what he held in his hand. A pair of goggles?

"What's that for?"

"I was attempting to sort through which of my belongings I could still use among the ones I wish to discard. Inadvertently I ended up finding these, I think I could still make use of them."

You tilted your head at him as a silent prompt to continue, it took every bit of control from Ford not to laugh again. You looked like a curious puppy, though he figured he shouldn't say that outright.

"It's simply among the items I collected and kept with me through my time in the multiverse. Protective eyewear can be useful for many things."

"Huh, if you have that— does it mean you still have the rest of the outfit?"

Now it was your turn to think Ford was being cute, he just wordlessly blinked at you in surprise. Was your request really that odd? You'd barely seen him in any other outfit combinations, of course you'd be curious.

"I—... I think I do? Why do you ask?"

"Do you think you'd still be able to rock it like you used to?"

"'Used to'? Excuse me?"

"I mean, it's been a couple years... why don't you try it on again?"

Ford laughed once again from your teasing, the way you sassily tried to goad him on was entertaining in it's own right. He was a bit on the fence about the whole outfit however, especially due to the memories associated with it.

It's not that bad compared to some things he'd found though... maybe he could indulge you.

"Hm..."

"I-I mean, if you really don't want to—"

Your panicked stammering was cut short when a warm palm cupped your cheek, meeting Stanford's eyes as he pressed a chaste kiss to the crown of your head. He could feel your skin heat in up in his hand, hiding a cheeky smile in your hair as he held you there.

"I'll show it to you... as soon as I can find the rest of the outfit."

Ford couldn't help but smile wider when your cheerful laugh rang out; it's the best sound to ever have graced his ears in the time he's been alive. A bit surprising given how many things he's been exposed to, but he couldn't name another chime so pleasant.

"I'll hold you to that Ford."

"And I accept your challenge my dear."

Hello, I hope you're having a wonderful day! My name is Marlowe/Atari! I come to you to expose another neo-nazi in the community. His name is Paul, and his goes by @dertotalenkrieg on Tumblr.

Now, why am I saying this now? Well, I noticed that this user was in the same reichblr server as I was. As I was scrolling through the Neo-Nazi Community under the reichblr, I noticed that Paul posted there.

Content Warnings for Nazi Imagery and Holocaust Denial in the Screenshots

Before anyone says, "This wasn't supposed to be taken seriously/this is out of context." Counterpoint, the implication of the post's caption is that Paul had to obtain this from Telegram. It also implies that he has experience with the platform and its neo-nazi communities contained within.

And this isn't a one-note incident either. I looked through Joseph's likes and saw these posts.

Obviously there are more posts that aren't shown in the screenshots that are noteworthy. The only one I can remember is one that was about cutting a swastika on one's skin.

What initially set off alarm bells was this guy's Discord profile;

I immediately detected the dog whistles within this user's profile. The SS's, the extraterrestrial imagery referencing neo-nazi pseudoscience, and the quote are obvious signs that this person is serious about this.

I deliberated on doing this since I didn't want to be the bringer of bad news, and the fact that this could possibly be traced back to me. I'm hesitant on associating my blog with this community (even though I'm a part of it.) and getting called a Nazi (despite this entire ask pointing to the contrary). I know you guys don't like Nazis, and I'm not gonna call you bad people for having unconventional interests.

The obvious way of avoiding any nazis joining this community is looking for dog whistles, that's your best method of exiling them quicker from your community.

Also, if you're gonna refer to me in your post, my pronouns are they/them + co/cos.

Hi, first of all sorry it took me a bit to respond, I had some busy things going on in real life.

Secondly ew, that's fucking nasty. I wasn't aware that this community existed (I never really looked much into the communities feature in general), but that's just gross and shouldn't have a platform. Immediate report, I don't know if this will just result in (hopefully) the deletion of the community, or if it will also have an effect on the people who are members of it, but as it is public to everyone here's a free block list I guess:

Reminder: Don't go over to these blogs and harass them or send anon hate, it won't do anything and will only give them more attention. Block, and in case they have sufficient evidence of hate speech or other harmful content on their blog, file a report to Tumblr moderation (if you feel comfortable enough to check their blogs that is, I understand that it can be difficult to stomach seeing that kind of content, especially if you're part of a targeted group).

Formerly, I didn't take a direct issue with this dertotalenkrieg guy personally, maybe I'm also confusing him with someone else but at least a few months ago I reckon he posted just historical photos and fairly "normal" reichblr stuff. Never really interacted with him as Goebbels isn't really a focus in my interests, and since a while I had him blocked anyway because he definitely did get weirder (and I just didn't want to see him anymore). I first noticed when he commented on my post to defend that other neo nazi, which should have been a clearer sign to me, however, I always had a hard time telling if he was ever genuine about something or if his entire account was just one big shitpost (personally I also don't believe in the whole reincarnation stuff, at least not in the way that he claims it to be, so the way he behaved about that might also be another reason why I couldn't really take him serious).

However this of course changes that, I never thought of looking through the guy's likes (I frankly didn't even notice that he had them public), but the things he engages with plus obviously the fact that he is a member in that neo nazi community makes it pretty obvious (that photo he posted there has literally nothing to do with historical interest). I kind of wonder now if him believing that he's the real Goebbels is what made him become a nazi (because he thought he had to replicate his "former self" or whatever) or vice versa that him being a neo nazi made him at some point think that he's one of the actual historical nazis. Regardless, he should not have a place here anymore. Thank you for letting me/us know!

hi, I'm so so sorry if this is crossing a line so feel free to ignore this if you're uncomfortable. I recently saw one of your posts where you mentioned an exchange with NG that you now realized was creepy- may I ask what happened?

Hi Anon. You're not crossing a line, it's okay. I actually have a few other Anons about Neil/the whole situation that I'm currently working on answering, so yours is no problem at all.

The exchanges with Neil that you're referring to took place in mid-2021 and then about six months later in early 2022. I still have the screenshots of them here on my blog--mostly because I really don't even know what to do with them now--so I can link you to the posts: Here and here.

Those posts only have the screenshots, so I will provide the context as well. The first exchange was me responding to something Neil had written about how "the most dangerous people in the world are the ones who tell you things 'for your own good.'" In my response, I talked about how someone once sent me a message under the guise of pretending to care about me, when their true intention was to shame me.

(Backstory: Fifteen years ago, there was a meme going around known as a "demotivational poster." It was a riff on motivational posters, which typically feature a picture with one word in a large font underneath, and then a caption in a smaller font under that. So "demotivational posters" were meant to be a parody of that. (Think Cards Against Humanity as a dark analog to Apples to Apples.) What had happened was that someone--no one I knew, but a complete stranger--found a picture of me in a bathing suit (either from my old Myspace account or who knows where) and used it to create a meme with the word "DESPERATE" under the photo. The caption under that was something like "When you're out of alcohol, paper bags, and Viagra, but go for it anyway"--essentially implying that my face was ugly and someone would have to be desperate to have sex with me. By the time I became aware of it, this poster had received thousands of views, and the person who sent it to me essentially blamed me and said it was my fault for posting a picture of myself in a bathing suit online. Go figure...)

So this was what I explained to Neil, and then followed it with a second tweet stating that the picture of me used in the meme was an old one, and I added a current picture of me in a bathing suit to illustrate what I looked in a bathing suit in the present day. Neil didn't respond to my first tweet, but he responded to the one with the photo and said "And you rock a bikini."

The second exchange (in 2022) was me responding to a tweet of his where he mentioned going on tour/upcoming tour dates, and while I wasn't at all certain he would remember, I referenced the bikini since it was part of our previous interaction. He gave the response that you can see in the second post, saying "What a lovely invitation" and that he wasn't coming to my area at that time but would be someday.

As I had mentioned in my previous post, it was all so mild and nonthreatening on his end that I wasn't even sure if he was being flirtatious to begin with. He had created this image of himself as someone harmless, someone who it was safe to send a picture like that to, because you'd never think anything would come of it. It's only now in hindsight that I see the creepiness--that he didn't reply to the tweet where I shared something personal and painful, but did reply to my tweet with the bikini picture in it, that he was so overly "friendly" in his responses, and so on.

Again, I am emphatically not at all trying to compare these exchanges to what the survivors of Neil's actions went through. I take full responsibility for my own actions--I chose to send that picture, I chose to bring it up again in the 2022 exchange, and then when I met him in person in 2023. My only purpose in sharing this is that I do think it shows how Neil presented himself and how these are things he's clearly practiced at and has known how to fool people for a very long time.

I hope this helps to answer your question, and I very much appreciate your consideration in regard to my being comfortable with answering this.

Hi! I’ve been working with the loa for just a few days now, I’m very new to it. But ur blog has helped me a lot to figure stuff out!!! Thank you for making ur posts so accessible and easy to follow!!!

I’ve been trying to shift for a few years now, went through all the shifttok nonsense. It’s. Been a frustrating journey. But I feel like I’m on the right track with loa. I was wondering, with using the loa, saying affirmations before bed, telling myself I am in my dr, what do I say if I wake up here? Currently I’ve just been telling myself “it’s fine I did shift because I exist in my dr always” but, idk, I’m not sure how to not feel like I failed while still affirming that I haven’t.

Another thing I feel a bit stuck on, is focusing entirely on the 4d while shifting. I’m plenty good at imagining vivid scenarios. Other senses I’m okay at for the most part. But how do I bridge the gap of “I’m imagining this happening right now” and “this is really happening in my reality” I feel like it’s a mix of still feeling the 3d which I’m trying to acknowledge will be the last thing to change. While also it being the fact that I’ve been imagining scenarios in my head for years. I’m finding it difficult to tell myself “this is real become aware of it” when I’m used to just daydreaming. If that makes sense?

You don't need to acknowledge the 3D. You don't need to do anything with it. It is dependent on you to stay the way that it is. I can't stress this enough it just isn't a factor. It's not that you have to find a way to remove it you just have to know it's not part of the equation at all.

The way to close the gap is to realize that there is no gap. It'll be enough when you let it be enough. I know that's the hard part. It's hard to just let it be because part of you is worried that it's not enough and is in search of something "better".

Visualize from the perspective of your DRself. Not just in the literal sense of the visual POV but as in you interact with the visualization as if you are your DRself. This is where I am, this is what I think about where I am, etc. You're trying to put yourself there mentally by thinking as if you are already there.

For me the difference between a daydream and a visualization is a day dream is detached in a way, like a scene I'm replaying, a visualization is putting myself there. Like one of those moments where the world is still and you just look at it. Then again I'm more of a robotic affirmation person myself so take what resonates with you.

If that is hard then affirm over and over "this is real, I'm in my DR" or something else like that. Repetition is a powerful tool for changing how you think.

Don't twist yourself into knots over belief. It may feel weird at first but that doesn't matter what matters is that you stick with the weird instead of entering your old mental state.

It's ok if you had an emotional reaction, it's ok if your heart dropped a little, just stick with the new story mentally. Your emotions won't stop you. It's ok to feel them. Your subconscious will take you at your word so only tell it what you want.

All that being said I think I know the perfect method for you if you're good at day dreams! The distraction method is a method where you get yourself into the alpha state, and the daydream. That's all. Click the link if you want to know more.

The other… other selves: Acquaintances, adversaries, friends. All those words mean the same thing in the Hollow World.

True to her promise, BRS continues to bear Mato’s pain and fight for her sake in the Hollow World, though their situation isn’t as dire as it once was. In her adolescence, Mato’s continued repression and ignorance of her pain and grief meant that it was all pushed onto BRS to bear, causing her to become progressively more powerful and ruthless, indiscriminately slaughtering other selves, freeing them and their human counterparts from the pain they bore… and the memories of said pain. This all reached a head when Mato, determined to save Yomi from her own pain, fused with BRS in the Hollow World to stop her from killing Dead Master… but she was too late. Seeing Dead Master as Yomi, impaled on BRS’s blade, Mato couldn’t take that pain, and the trauma it caused pushed BRS over the edge, driving her insane and transforming her into something overpowered and nigh-invincible. At Mato’s declaration that she wanted to feel pain, she promised she’d show her just that, beating her counterpart to a pulp until Mato, realizing that she really couldn’t make it through life without hurting anyone herself, finally fought back, snapping BRS out of her frenzy. With Mato’s friends’ other selves having been revived, restoring their memories, the two part ways, with BRS telling Mato that she fights for her because she loves her.

Now, in adulthood, Mato does her best not to run from her pain, to let herself feel it and deal with it. This doesn’t leave BRS out of a job, however, and she dutifully fights for Mato’s sake as she always has, in the endless battlefield of the Hollow World. But it’s safe to say that both of them are at least a bit healthier due to Mato’s efforts.

Mato herself is now a professional basketball player, turning what was once her hobby into a career. She still remains close with her friends, and is dating Yomi, though her travels for games mean she’s not always able to spend as much time with everyone as she’d like.

Though the majority of BRS’s interactions with her fellow other selves involve violence, there isn’t necessarily any hatred in their battles. They’re generally able to have civil conversations whenever they’re not trying to rip each other’s heads off. They’re friends. Probably.

BRS sees glimpses of Mato’s life in her dreams, just as Mato sees BRS in hers. A literal world apart, they don’t see much of each other otherwise, but that doesn’t mean either of their love for their counterpart has waned.

25th Game - Fantasy AGE 2nd Edition

(Note, I posted this to the wrong blog at first... oops, you can find a link to my Gorgon Archer blog on my pinned table of contents post)

So, I've done an AGE game in the past here with Modern AGE, which itself used a bit from Cthulhu Awakens. Fantasy AGE isn't the original game in the line, that would be Dragon Age TTRPG, but it is the first to take the engine in its own direction.

They've recently put on an update to Fantasy AGE, most of it is still compatible with 1st Edition, but they've had a few changes that are interesting. I really should do Cthulhu Awakens, because that game does a lot of interesting things with the basic assumptions. Anyway, I'm not going too deep into the differences between 1st edition and 2nd edition, but I will be using a 1st edition option called "Blooded" for producing characters with some influence from monsters in their ancestry. I've been assured this is no problem and fits in well with the balance of 2nd edition.

Fantasy AGE 2nd ed includes at least one concept from Modern AGE, levels adding to Defense directly. Aside from that though, there are significant differences in character creation from Fantasy AGE and Modern AGE.

Things in common:

Both use Talents and Specializations which are split into three ranks of accomplishment.

Both use the same set of nine Abilities.

Both use Ability Focuses in place of skills.

Both use Social Class and Backgrounds as a character creation element.

Where they differ:

Fantasy AGE 2e uses Classes Modern AGE doesn't unless you're using optional rules in the Companion. Modern AGE has Professions, but they're a character creation only thing and don't have near the impact as Classes do.

Fantasy AGE does not have a Drive like in Modern AGE.

Fantasy AGE 2e uses Ancestries where as Modern AGE only has that as an optional rule in the Companion called "People".

Fantasy AGE 2e's Ability Focuses improve from +2 to +3 automatically at level 11, with the option to bring them to +1 if you spend an extra Ability Focus resource on that Focus.

Fantasy AGE 2e provides a lot more chances to get Specializations than Modern AGE.

Fantasy AGE 2e has Class-specific Stunts.

Aside from the last three things, this is mostly the same set of differences between Fantasy AGE 1e and Modern AGE. The increased access to Talents feels a bit like what goes on with Cthulhu Awakens.

As a note, another change from Fantasy AGE 1e to 2e is that there are now four classes instead of three: Envoy, Mage, Rogue, and Warrior. Envoy is the new class.

Other than that, there is still a 9 step process but with some differences:

1: Concept

2: Abilities

3: Ancestry

4: Social Class and Background

5: Class

6: Equipment

7: Calculate Defense and Speed

8: Name

9: Goals and Ties

We've already got our concept in mind, a gorgon archer, anything more detailed will come later on as we move through the steps.

Step Two - Abilities

In 1st edition, the default method for determining Abilities was to roll for them. There was an optional method to buy them up. Now that has reverse, with the default being to have Abilities all start at 0 and then spend 13 advances to increase them up to a max of 3. The rolling method allows for a max of 4 if you roll an 18, but also allows for hitting -1 or even -2. I'm going to stick to the default and spend 13 advances.

The nine Abilities are as follows:

Accuracy - Skill with handling ranged combat and finesse weapons.

Communication - Ability to interact with people. Includes both friendly and unfriendly interactions.

Constitution - Physical resilience. Helps determine hit points.

Dexterity - Agility, flexibility, and things like sleight of hand, stealth, and acrobatics.

Fighting - Skill with fighting in melee.

Intelligence - Logic, memory, and knowledge.

Perception - Awareness of the world around you.

Strength - Physical strength and feats such as climbing and lifting weights.

Willpower - Courage, self-discipline, faith. In addition this ability determines how many magic points casters get.

With that said, I'm going to hold off on finishing up this section until I've hit some of the later options and firmed up details on the concept.

Step Three - Ancestry

2nd Edition has a few Ancestries that are relatively new to the game. Some of them appeared in supplements to the 1st edition version of the game. Each Ancestry provides the following:

An option chosen from two Ability Focuses.

Whether or not they have Dark Sight or not.

Base Speed

Languages.

A chart the player will roll on twice to get additional benefits

It has basically the same Mixed-Ancestry rules as we saw in 1st Edition: Choose which ancestry is the dominant one, get those basic benefits. Then instead of rolling twice on the same chart, they roll once on each Chart. The game notes that Mixed Ancestry can be either a person raised in a culture unusual for the Ancesty, such a human raised by goblins, or a case of biological parents from two different Ancestries.

Mixed Ancestry also has you choose which of your Ancestries you count as for the purpose of Talent or Stunt prerequisites. I have some issues with this approach and would much rather allow the player to take from both sets of Talents and such. It feels a bit icky to make someone of mixed heritages choose which of their ancestries is their primary.

Regardless, this is a case where I'm going to dip into a 1st Edition supplemental option. Namely, the Blooded. Because if there is an official way to get something more specifically gorgon, I'll take it. Also, Green Ronin (the publisher) has said most of 1st Edition is compatible and the community has agreed this option is definitely in that category. I will note that a lot of the 2e benefit charts have special abilities for each ancestry that were not present on the 1st edition charts. So the chance of getting a special power out of the Blooded benefit charts is now a bit more even with the core ancestries.

One thing different though, 1st edition Ancestries gave a base +1 bonus to one of your character's abilities. 2nd edition Ancestries don't do that, so I'm going to remove that from the base traits of Blooded. However, there is still the likelihood of rolling a bonus to an ability on the benefit chart.

As to the benefit chart, this is what the Blooded have:

The stat block I'm definitely using the 2nd Edition Medusa stat block, which is given the alternate name of "Gorgon". I do wish they'd made "Gorgon" the default name rather than Medusa. Note, SP=Stunt Points.

The game doesn't specify, but I'm going to approach this as if you can't get the same benefit twice.

So, first, I'm going to choose an Ability Focus and I'm going to avoid Weapon Focuses since no Ancestries give those in the base bonuses.

That leaves: Stealth, Stamina, Intimidation, Seeing, and Historical Lore.

I'm going with Seeing because the benefit of having multiple sets of eyes from the snake hair is often something I often represent as a bonus to perception checks.

Speed is a base 10 + Dexterity (minus armor penalty if applicable)

Languages will be Common and

Now, to fill out the chart....

Instead of the Highest ability being at 2, I'm putting it at 7-8. I believe it was at 2 before because the base, unrolled traits would give it a +1 in 1st edition, so I'm tweaking to adjust for 2e's ancestries.

2: +1 Accuracy +1

3-4: Perception (Smelling) - Scent is another snake thing.

5: Strength (Intimidation)

6: Weapon Group: Bows or Accuracy (Bows) if the class gives it.

7-8: Constitution +1

9: Constitution (Stamina)

10-11: Petrifying Gaze, but reducing the damage to 1d6+1 to account for the Penetrating nature of it and bring it somewhat in line with the Draak ability to breath fire for 2d6 damage.

12: Perception +1

For rolls, I get a 4 and an 11. Huh... Perception (Smelling) and Petrifying Gaze. And yes I rolled that. Was actually hoping for an Ability bonus.

I'm assuming that she represents a non-monstrous gorgon rather than a blend of gorgon and something else. So the monstrous varieties are corrupted in some way rather than naturally occurring species. Toward that end, I'm going to assume she tries to keep her petrifying gaze a secret when she can. My guess is it would be a trait associated with the corrupted gorgons and likely to get her badly looked at.

Step Four - Social Class and Background

This is also decided by die rolls and mostly determines some roleplaying bits and a single ability focus. It also heavily impacts starting wealth.

You roll 1d6 for Social class:

1: Outsider

2-3: Lower Class

4-5: Middle Class

6: Upper Class

And then you roll another 1d6 for one of the 6 presented backgrounds for each social class. For our character, the rolls are: 4 and 4... which after I set ahead of time which color die is which and rolled them together makes me feel a little silly.

That's Middle Class from a Merchant background.

Merchant provides either Communication (Bargaining) or Communication (Deception). I was going with Bargaining first, but instead I think a history of trying to conceal her gaze ability leans toward Deception.

Step Five - Determine Class

Okay, I'm wanting to lean into the Merchant background thing and towards that I just want to check one thing... and yep, the Envoy does get the opportunity to choose "Bows" as a weapon group. However, Accuracy is a "Secondary" ability for the Envoy so this would be an unusual approach.

You know what... I also want to play with the new class. Envoy it is. I mean, how often can I possibly have done Charisma-types in this Gorgon Archer blog?

Anyway, with that decided time to go back to do the Abilities.

Step Two, Redux - Abilities

All right, so we have 13 points to spread between nine Abilities. I'm going to list them as priorities for concept.

Communication

Strength (all bows have a minimum of Strength 1)

Step Five, the Return - Determine Class

Okay, back to class. The Envoy gets the character the following:

Primary Abilities: Communication, Fighting, Intelligence, Willpower

Secondary Abilities: Accuracy, Constitution, Dexterity, Perception, Strength

Starting Health: 25 + Constitution + 1d6 (4)

Three Weapon Groups: Bows, Brawling, Light Blades (all of these use Accuracy as their attack stat)

Then we have the level 1 Class Powers:

Coordinate - You have the ability to give Stunt Points to allies

Dazzle - You can dazzle opponents with Charisma to improve your Defense.

Social Chameleon - You have a second Background and social class, and thus an extra ability focus. One is the society you were born to, the other is the society you integrated into.

Starting Specialization from the following list: Arcane Disciple, Aristocrat, Bard, Champion, Crime Lord, Diplomat, Heritage (Divine, Fey, or Infernal), Knight, Mariner/Pirate, Marked, Mystic Navigator, Spy, Skald.

Two Talents from the list: Animal Training, Carousing, Command, Contacts, Inspire, Intrigue, Linguistics, Lore, Oratory, Performance.

Social Chameleon says you choose the second class and background, but I'm going to roll for it, just for fun. However, I will re-roll if I get middle class again. Also, "Merchant" I'm saying is where she's ended up rather than where she was born. The result is a 2 and a 2, so she was born a laborer and ended up a merchant. The second focus she's getting out of this is a choice of Constitution (Stamina) or Strength (Might). I'm going with Stamina. The power indicates that when determining wealth, you use the higher of the two classes. So she'll have Middle Class starting wealth.

For specialization... I'm going to go with Marked, a person who has magical tattoos.

For her two Talents, I going to choose: Contacts and Linguistics.

She gets her Specialization and Talents at Novice rank which means:

Novice Marked Specialization: Choose one Mark. I'm choosing the Mark of War, allowing her to stow a two-handed weapon (like a bow) in a mark on her body. It will be the mark of serpent-tailed gorgon using a bow (she has legs, btw)

Novice Contacts Talent: The ability to make contacts out of NPCs you just barely met.

Novice Linguistics Talent: A third language, I'm going to say Goblin.

And that is her class.

Step 6 - Choose Equipment

We get some things automatically:

Backpack and waterskin

Traveler's Garb

As an Envoy, light leather armor and one weapon, it's going to be a longbow.

Due to taking a longbow, she also gets a quiver of 20 arrows.

And she has some starting wealth. As Middle Class she starts with 50+3d6 silver pieces. The roll is a 15, so 65 silver pieces.

With that, she's going to get herself the following:

Short Sword, Light Blades Group, 1d6+1, Min Str -1. 14 silver

Spyglass, 15 silver

Bedroll, 10 silver

Silk Rope, 10 silver

Lantern, 5 silver

Mirror (hand, metal), 3 silver

And that leaves 8 silver left over.

Step 7 - Calculate Defense and Speed

Light Armor gives her an Armor Rating of 3, which reduces the damage of incoming attacks by 3. But this is different from Defense.

Defense is 10 + Dexterity + a shield bonus, if you have one... which our character does not.

So her Defense is 12.

Speed is based on your ancestry and we already saw that as 10 + Dexterity. Light Leather Armor does not have an armor penalty.

So her Speed is 12.

Step 8 - Name

I'm going to go ahead and turn to Fantasy Name Generator for this as they have a gorgon name generator. A lot of those are somewhat unpronounceable, but I did see the name Kaelcia and I like that. And for a surname, I'm going to say Skyscale

So, her name is Kaelcia Skyscale.

Step 9 - Goals and Ties

For goals, you choose a mix of any number of short and long term goals to describe your character's motivations. And for ties, we create a bit of history with the other characters... and for that, I need to create some other characters. To avoid a whole other character trait, I'm going to roll some random traits for three other characters, one of each of the other three classes:

I plan to do an advancement on this character, but I'll edit that in later... and I'll do it full to 20th level because I've heard commentary that there's not enough variety of Specializations and Talents to fit all the options you get and I want to see. But for now, I need to take a break.

Okay, time to level things up

First, let's establish some things. A theorycraft like this cannot replace an actual campaign as you will encounter things in gameplay that change up your ideas of what sound good. Also, I do not have a particularly good way to simulate rewards outside of leveling such as wealth, gear, social contacts (important to an Envoy), achievement of goals, or character interaction.

Also, let's summarize some things here.

Kaelcia's Primary Abilities: Communication, Fighting, Intelligence, and Willpower

Kaelcia's Secondary Abilities: Accuracy, Constitution, Dexterity, Perception, Strength

Health increases as follows:

From levels 2-10, Kaelcia gains 1d6+Con Health

Ability Advancements

These get more expensive as the ability gets higher.

Ability up to 5, 1 advance equals +1

Ability from 6-8, 2 advances equal +1

Ability 9 or higher, 3 advances equal +1

So you can get superhuman in one stat at a cost of being average to decent in everything else, or you can be strong in several stats.

Stunts

Stunt points are generated sometimes when you roll dice. This game uses 3d6+Ability+Focus (if you have it) to test success. One of your dice is designated the stunt die, it will be a different color. If you roll doubles on a successful test, you also generate stunt points equal to whatever you rolled on the stunt die.

You can also take a special "Stunt Attack" that deals no damage itself but automatically generates at least 2 stunt points and these will be added on top of any stunt points generated by rolling doubles.

Kaelcia's Levels 2-5

Level 2

+1 Willpower

For the Stunt Advancement, she chooses the Envoy option to make a basic social Stunt cheaper and chooses "Crowd Appeal", making it cost 1 SP per extra target rather than 2 SP.

For the Talent Advancement, she takes the Archery Talent at Novice level.

She takes the Communication (Etiquette) focus

She rolls a 2 and gains 3 Health.

Level 3

+1 Perception

Picks up the Novice Diplomat Specialization (She meets the requirements) and for the two focuses the Novice rank affects she chooses Communication (Etiquette) and Intelligence (Cultural Lore), so she'll pick up the second one in a moment.

She takes Accuracy (Bows)

This time she gains 4 Health.

Level 4

+1 Communication

For the Stunt, she picks up "Rouse", it costs 5 SP so it won't happen often, but it's a chance to get someone from 0 Health back into the fight... as long as they're not unconscious.

For the Talent Advancement, she improves Contacts to Expert. This makes it easier to get favors from Contacts.

She takes the Intelligence (Cultural Lore) focus

She also takes the Communication (Bargaining) focus as her Envoy level 4 bonus focus.

She gains the Doubletalk feature. A once per social encounter chance to reduce the cost of a Stunt and possibly even get a free use of a stunt.

And this time, she gains 7 Health.

Okay, so, I don't agree with the complaint that it didn't have enough variety to justify the increased number of Talents and Specializations, but I can see where it's coming from.

I didn't feel like adding any other specialization in here, but that's mostly because I completed the first two before adding a third. That firmed up an image in my head as to what this character was that didn't fit the existing specializations. If I had taken three Specializations to Novice right off the bat, it would have fit in quite easily. I do wish the Sharpshooter specialization had been available, but I can see why they want to keep that with Rogues.

My main complaint is the same complaint I have with most level based games where the later levels always feel a bit anti-climatic and a bit uninteresting. This is a complaint I have with D&D as well. Pathfinder 2e has managed to make interesting, story-completing capstones, but most games that work in this design space fail to reach the proper balance of making the end of a character's story both dramatic and mechanically interesting.

These are powers that a character is only going to use a handful of times, so they need to be exceptional.

In the Envoy's case, the Epic Envoy increasing the number of Stunt points you get in one category of action has the capacity to do that because stunts can do a lot. But this did leave me with picking up a Novice talent at the end. Depending on the end of the story,

Overall, it's fairly interesting and I like the changes from 1st edition so far. Would still like to play the game a bit more.

could u talk a little bit more abt how u think varg was when he was covert? and when do u think he switched?

When it comes to a narcissistic 'switch', no trigger needs to be present because every narcissist can be covert and overt at times depending on the environment that they're living in.

In other words, a narc will be more likely to 'hide' their grandiosity in an unfamiliar/ potentially 'threatening' environment because they need to protect their fragile self (remember, this is literally the whole ordeal with narcissists), and they will only expose their superiority in a safe, familiar and 'non-threatening' environment. Sometimes they can stay covert for months, years even and have very little moments when they're explicitly being insufferable people, or sometimes they can stay overt for years and very rarely turn covert if they happen to get publicly humiliated/ mortified.

Being covert/ overt most of the time also depends heavily on how introverted/ extroverted the person really is.

When it comes to Varg, I'm very inclined to believe that he was naturally a 'shy' and introverted kid. Even he stated that he is introverted when he once bragged about his personality test result, but honestly, reading about how he grew up and his interactions with other people from the BM scene, I do indeed see his introversion and narcissim manifesting covertly in his youth.

He mentioned on his blog how he didn't have friends growing up and that he was rather alone and depressed for most of his teenage years. His favourite hobbies (playing guitar and reading) are solo hobbies and he traveled a lot with his parents (an aspect that gave him a hard time interacting with the outside world).

I think the Old Funeral rehearsal video shows a lot of how awkward, shy and maybe even a bit 'forced' Varg seems when goofing around with his ex bandmates. Playing in a corner while everyone is getting wild tells a lot about how he doesn't feel comfortable being in the centre of the room. There are many details that I could get into, but I'm afraid that I would make this post too long, so I will keep it tight.

He had no narcissistic supply back then, nobody praised him for anything because he was a nobody, so his arrogance was hidden and underfed. (This also is how I suspect he grew up like). But things changed when he met Øystein because Øystein was like an idol to him and I'm very sure that every little 'positive remark' he received from his metal idol went straight to his starved ego. It's then when people started describing him as arrogant because he finally felt 'relevant enough' to start showing his hidden face and the result was quite predictable. He entered in a direct competition with Øystein, wanting to be better than him. Øystein fought back for as much as he could but eventually, everything turned into a horrible situation and a coldblooded murder case.

It's impossible to determinate exacy when he 'switched' since psychological processes are dynamic and fluid, but I would say that in '92 he was already a different person than the one Øystein met and even considered friend. At least, that's how I see it.

During prison, he must have turned more covert since prison is, by definition, the most hostile and threatening environment for everyone and you have to 'lay low' to make it through the day, but he grafually appeared as overt in the following years in which he got out.

Right now, he's not only overt, but clinically delusional (no joke here) with his statements and beliefs getting more ridiculous by day. He has now his own audience that feeds him narcissistic supply daily and there's no chance of turning back. He will only get worse by time and age as narcissism is more often than not a progressive disorder.

And thank you for the ask! Means a lot and I'd love to be able to interact with others about our OC's and headcanons

I have a few of my own personal HC's for the angry helo 🚁:

- British. Despite the Planes 2 film being set in the US (I'm assuming), I'm writing my own fanfiction which is basically my own version of the film with added OC's, and it's set in the UK JUST for the sole reason that I can write Blade as a Brit 🇬🇧 (I have another post that support this lore: land, fire statistics, etc)

If Blade was British, he'd be from Northern or North-Western England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 He's got that vibe in him: Typical working-class, an unmatched taste in humour, down to earth, sarcastic, takes no shit, stubborn and incredibly stoic (especially this), and I would imagine he would swear.. a lot

I think another reason why this is fun for me is that I can show other non-UK followers what the UK is really like. None of that London aesthetics shit. Idk how others view my country but whenever you look at ✨️UK aesthetic✨️ pics online, it's either London or cute little countryside cottages. A lot of photos and posts on social media perceive the whole of the UK as one big "London" island. Blade is none of that, and I think it'll be fun to see what he brings to the table 🇬🇧

- another HC is that he's best friends with Bravo and Echo. I've not yet explored how he meets and befriends them

- Blade occasionally drinks on the job. Not intense drinking, but Maru would definitely make him a glass or two to prevent him from going on a rage induced murder spree on everyone when he's in one of his bad moods. It's even hinted in the film when Maru sarcastically replies to Cad via radio "Oh, he's out back sipping a Motojito". So Blade's definitely having a few cheeky mojito cocktails on the sly whilst on duty. Maybe that's why he's sometimes so calm and chill in the movie XDDD

- The biggest HC I'm exploring is a big self-insert in Blade's past. Nick is alive so there's a reason why he leaves filming, but he's dealt with another traumatic experience in the past.

For the entirety of 2024, I've been dealing with the aftermath of a best friend breakup. In all 24 years of life, this is probably the worst BFF trainwreck I've experienced to date. That person is also a member of the LM community (not here) and have since replaced me with a new best friend also in the LM community. So this year I've been processing the up's and down's in my mental health. It's been 1 year since it happened, and I'm still not the same and it still affects me, but I've survived and maybe I've come a long way since but it doesn't feel like it - but I'll keep on trudging forward *keep calm and carry on Brit energy 🇬🇧✨️*

I'm planning on Blade going through the same 'best friend betrayal' ordeal because I think that maybe this will help me in some way. Due to this event, Blade will be affected badly and will become depressed, withdrawn, melancholic and angry, and will actively isolate himself from his team and others. When my heli OC Toni comes along, she'll have a hard time earning his trust, but with time, patience and Maru's help, she will eventually break through his shell and he'll be a much happier character in future and they'll become a couple.

I'm not sure how the timeline and scenes will pan out, but I use quotes to take notes and ideas for now, but I struggle with motivation and creativity often. But I'm going to get the Planes 2 fanfic out the way before I can worry about this one XD

If it came to it, she'd help him if he was in need. But that is more from her belief no one should suffer alone, because in the end they're all trapped here together and want to leave.

The future of Law and Robin

Hi everyone - if anyone is reading, this is my first time posting here. A newbie :D I opened this blog to archive my analysis of lawbin since there are limited characters in twitter. And I just want a space to rant about lawbin.

Before you scrolling down, for non-manga readers, please aware that there are spoilers below.

And for non-lawbin shippers, please aware that this is NOT completely logical and I have bias on them. So if you dislike lawbin, please just don't read.

I'm gonna talk about my prediction for Law and Robin in the future. This is very theorize and has a very high chance that it might NOT came true. But I still wanna leave an archive here.

So what's the relationship between Law and Robin now?

Logically, I would say they are good friends/comrade that share the same goals. I think they made a deal with each other about poneglyph. I will elaborate later.

But if i have my bias on, I would say they are little bit more than friends. Because Robin is the only person Law voluntarily told his real name. Because Law searched entire flower capital to find Robin. Because Robin teased him he's following her by sniffing. Because Robin is like ageyo when she said "no fair" to Law. And see how Law walks awkwardly here, it's like he's embarrassed that Robin found he's following her.

back to the deal theory. I believe Law and Robin might be collaborating on looking the last road poneglyph. And the collaboration is still on after they separated. Because Law and Robin both knew that they have the same goal and finding the same thing (the Will of D). Law needs Robin to decipher the poneglyph in order to reach Laugh Tale and learning what's the meaning of D. So why he's looking for Robin before he left Wano?

Because he wants to collaborate with Robin even after the alliance ends. Wait - they are already collaborating already? I think so and I will elaborate later. First of all, why do I think he's looking for Robin and not for poneglyph? Because Law can't read poneglyph, even he followed her won't do any benefits to him. The only thing he can do is just stand behind her and watch her translate the poneglyph exactly what he did in the manga lol Why would he do that without any purpose? He can just wait for Robin to give the translated poneglyph to him. It's not like Robin will hide it anyways. The only information he learned there is Pluton, but he didn't know about it before he followed her and he can't do anything about it because Momonosuke is the only one can control Pluton. So I think Law is looking for Robin here.

You can also say maybe he's just interested in exploring poneglyph and want to learn more about history, so he accompany her. Or he saw she's not with straw hats so he went to protect her from CP0. (yah - those are from my delulu mind)

You might ask why didn't he find Luffy? Because Robin already told him that Luffy don't care about the Will of D, so he needs to collaborate with someone having the same goal.

And you might also ask, why didn't Robin told Luffy? Because it doesn't matter to Luffy and the deal wouldn't affect him become the king of pirates. Robin hides a few secrets from her crew - Shirahoshi is Poseidon, the poneglyph in Alabasta stated the location of Pluton is in Wano, Sabo is still alive...etc. Not that because she doesn't trust her crew, I think it's just she think telling them won't help the situation and I don't think the straw hats really care. And for Sabo, I'm 100% Luffy would want to find out himself instead of from someone.

Oda did intentionally hide Law and Robin interactions during Wano, only half way through Wano, we found out that Law and Robin actually talked about the Will of D and his real name. Law is someone who will make plans to reach his goal. So I think there's definitely more Wano interactions between them.

One more thing to prove this is - When Robin and Brook initially searched the Palace for poneglyph, they couldn't find any Road poneglyph there. Robin thought that the road poneglyph must be on Onigashima. But she didn't go look for a poneglyph in Onigashima She can literally told Jinbe or Brook that she needs to look for poneglyph and wonder off. Why she didn't?? Kin'emon's plan also won't be ruined without her and her disguise outfit would be perfect for her to search. And we found out - Law was the one who's looking for poneglyph in Onigashima.

My thought is that they exchanged their information before reaching Onigashima. And Because Robin was looking for Poneglyph in the Palace, Law will be the one who is searching in Onigashima.

So, what's the deal between them? To be honest, I don't know. So far I can only come up with exchange information for last Poneglyph? Or maybe when Law found the last poneglyph, Robin can keep it but needs to decipher for him? (Law doesn't have Big Mom's poneglyph, so even Robin translate for him, he won't be able to reach Laugh Tale)

It needs to be something that Robin didn't need to tell Luffy or the crew. Or maybe she did told them but just us readers don't know.

Lastly, why I still think the deal is on? and not just ended with alliance. Because of this scene-

Law and Robin reacted differently about the man who marked by flames. Law looking dim and Robin was just curious. In the anime, we have an interaction that Robin is looking at Law. But I'm not 100% sure that's the right interpretation. Base on the manga, Robin might be looking at Law or just simply curious about Kid saying "the man who marked by flames". And Law reaction just might be he stopped to listen Kid because it might be a hint about poneglyph. I think Oda intentionally put their reaction together to make it seems like they are both related to it. I think that's one of the hint that they are collaborating.

Is Law hiding something here? Maybe. I think the deal Law and Robin made, it's just fair that Law needs to be the one who finds the last poneglyph. Otherwise, it doesn't seems fair to Robin that they need to find the poneglyph and translate to him. So it might be he knows something about the man marked by flames and didn't tell Robin. But I don't think so? Because Law can give the information to Robin, even Robin found it, she will share it with him because he gave her the information. He even gave a poneglyph to Kid and saying they deserved one too. So why would he hide a secret?

I actually think a lot of times asking myself and think oppositely. Maybe they are just sharing information during Wano and didn't contact after. But it just makes so much more sense that Law needs to collaborate with Robin to achieve his goal. I mean there's a person who can decipher poneglyph in front of Law. And his personality is planning everything ahead. So it make sense he at least leave some contact with Robin to be able for him to learn the Will of D. Even he found the last poneglyph himself, there's no way he could decipher it. Of course there are other ways but I just think Law won't miss his chance to build a connection with Robin before he left Wano.

So how do they contact each other? Den den mushi is a must. They need to talk to exchange information. And possibly, vivre card. It's not really possible, but my delulu mind said Law might left a vivre card for Robin to let her find him or make sure he's alive.

Finally, what we can expect in the future for Law and Robin? - they might contact with each other about poneglyph - it might reveal that they have been collaborate since Wano - they might fight together to find the last poneglyph - they might go learn the Will of D together in the future Since they have the same goal, to me, it's just make sense they found the meaning out together. However, I think it might take sometime before they meet each other again. Plus, they both got hurt now :( so we really need to be patient and wait for their interactions again. I really hope we can see at least once in 2024! (I doubt we will tho)

2024: A retrospect

Happy new year! 2024 drew to a close in the blink of an eye, and 2025 came marching in. I hope the new year finds everyone well, and wishing all of you a good health for this year too!

I usually don't really write very long blog posts due to being shy about my own writing skills, but I decided I want to do this anyway. I wanted to look back and re-organize my thoughts about 2024, as well as write down what I hope to do and achieve in 2025. If you don't like reading long posts then please feel free to skip over! Otherwise, brace yourselves because it is going to be a LONG one indeed, haha.

Now then, where do I start...2024 has been a wild ride for me. I actually never "officially" announced it on my socials, but in April of 2024, I actually went to Japan to study and find employment there! This has been one of my biggest life-long dreams, and I am fully aware that this is a BIG priviledge that could not have been realized without the help of my parents. I'm so SO thankful for them for everything they've done for me, I definitely will not let this oppurtunity go to waste, I will do my best to get a stable job, get a stable life and then repay them back (this is my own free will) for all the financial support they have given me.

Life in Japan

Life in Japan has been good. Of course, it's not all rainbows and sunshine all the time, and I have definitely faced my fair share of obstacles as well as having identity crisis multiple times, lol. But the things I have learned and experienced here far exceeded the negativites.

I came here with the determination of first improving my language skills, especially my verbal skills, and also to improve my social skills. Through my school, I ended up joining in the local community work of picking up trash in the morning and sharing a cup of tea or coffee afterwards. Although I originally inteded to join to practice interacting with the local people, I found myself enjoying this volunteer work so much that I eventually just started joining out of my own volition instead of through school. I also joined a lot of other programmes, such as a short homestay program and a longer homestay + cultural exchange program amongst other things. All in all, I really tried my best and I think I have somewhat succeeded in my goals! I could communicate with locals now without much issues, and I can listen to radio shows or watch TV shows with minimal to no subtitles now (and also understand most of what people in real life are saying of course!). Also, not to toot my own horn, but a lot of locals have also commented about how natural my accent sounds, and it makes me very happy to hear that because I worked really, really hard, so it felt like a validation of my efforts ;w;

As you all may have realized, in exchange for me putting in the time and effort in real life, 2024 was a very very barren year for me art-wise lol. I didn't draw much (didn't had the time and energy or the willpower) this year, but I somehow still managed to make some drawings as well as making a doujinshi with a friend this year and took part in Reitaisai Autumn 2024! I have always thought of participating in Reitaisai as a dream that would never come true in my life, but I'm glad that wasn't the case… thank you to my friend Opu for inviting me as well as shouldering most of the things from planning to printing and also the booth setup T_T!

Expressing Thanks

On that note, I would also like to take some time to express my gratitude to a plethora of people, as well as the smaller things in life that brought about so much more positivity in my life.

First of all, and as mentioned earlier, I would like to thank my parents for giving my this opportunity to come abroad and believe in my one last time for me to achieve my dreams. I actually didn't really have a very good relationship with my parents prior to this, and despite that they still cared for me enough to send me abroad and only wished the best for me…physical distance with them has opened my eyes to so many more other things, not just my feelings towards them, but also things that contributed to my personal growth. I've not only grown closer to them in the past year, I've also finally become "independent". It is hard for me to put it into words, but I truly felt myself finally becoming an adult this year, and I will get deeper into that later (want to tie it together with a small announcement).

Next off, are my friends in Japan who has helped me so much with adjusting to life here, as well as hanging out with me when we have time! I'm not sure if they are ccomfortable with me naming them, but I've also witnessed their very very major growth in their pursued field this year, and it just makes me so, so proud to be able to call them my friend! To see them achieve their own dreams and goals, it motivates ME a lot to work towards my own! Also!! They always hear me out when I have troubles of my own, and also gave me so much practial advice (particularly for when I was applying to part time jobs), I am forever so grateful for them and I would honestly gladly d*e for them lmao that is how extremely grateful I am towards my friends!! I don't know if they are reading this or not but if you are YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! いつもありがとうね！！This year is the year I will make you proud!!!!!

(ahem). Jokes aside, I would also like to thank my school, and my school teachers for making my Japanese improve so much lol. I really came here with ¼ of that bucket filled, and it is thanks to their teaching that I gradually filled it up, and now I think the bucket is probably like 70% filled…..learning is a never ending journey though, so I would like to continue improving my Japanese even after I graduate! If I continue to list more people I think this post is never going to end…but last one ok I would like to thank my co-workers at my part time job too for being some of the nicest people I've ever worked with!! And the customers who come to the shop! They always put a smile on my face!! Thank you so much!

Other things I'm grateful for!

Being able to eat what I want whenever I want!

Being able to go to Karaoke and release steam every Sunday morning!

The manga and drama "What Did You Eat Yesterday" for being my comfort media when I just came here and was filled with much anxiety! It was like having 2 more dads in my life, lol

Getting to know Hoshino Gen's works! His songs, especially "SUN", uplift me a lot! I listen to his songs almost daily now because it's a great energy booster…also, his literature works are very inspiring! I've since became obsessed with this guy to a kinda crazy level actually I'm so sorry lol but I HOPE I CAN GO TO HIS CONCERT THIS YEAR SCREAMS (prays for my ticket lottery)

Saizeriya for being cheap and delicious. I love you Saizeriya!!!

A final look back, as well as what's to come

This post has gotten way too long…sorry for that but if anyone's still sticking around, thank you for reading me yap so much!

2024 was really such a wild ride for me. I can safely say that my life has changed for the better ever since coming to Japan, and I'm excited to tackle 2025 and the challenges it has in store for me.

In regards to what would happen to my art/drawings, I have…so much I want to say, but because this post is long enough, I'll try to be brief.

Starting from 2025, I will no longer be taking personal art commissions. Commercial commissions would be heavily considered, but for the most part, I would like to take a step back from drawing for work.

It was not an easy decision to make, and reaching this point took a lot of energy on my part as well. I love drawing, I love to draw for others and see them be happy with the work I made for them. But I'm not cut out to be a freelance artist. The past 2 years was honestly, a very very lonely time for me. Sure I had more flexibility in time and scheduling, but I didn't have financial stability, and "making enough money" just ate away at me all the time to the point of destroying my mental health, and causing a rift between me and my family. Despite all this negativity though, I'm just glad I experienced it in my 20s when I'm still young and had the room to make mistakes like this.

And of course, I am always thankful to those who have commissioned me, or bought my art at events! I will always remember your kindness and support. If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't be surviving till today. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

So where do I go from here?

I cannot 100% predict what the future holds for me, but my most important goal for now is to secure a proper job as a 正社員 in a company here, hopefully obtain a working visa and start planting my roots here in Japan!

In my free time, I would like to work on translating some of my favourite books from JP -> EN. I don't want to bet on freelance work again a second time, especially not in a foreign country…but, it would be nice if one day I could ACTUALLY officially work to translate those favourite books of mine. And what better way to achieve that than to actually start putting in the work? I know it's going to be a tough road but I will work hard!

Art will take a backseat from now on, but that doesn't mean I will stop drawing! It's just that I will mostly be drawing for myself now.
