Review: Review: I already have a thing for AlphaXBetaXOmega AUs - so let's go ahead and offer up one of my favorite pairings to this trope. This is one of my favorite DabiXHawks fics. It's an ABO AU not focused on sex but on politics and the steady build-up of the main couple's relationship. This is also a 'Villain Hawks AU,' and he certainly had good reason to become one. 

In this world, Hawks presents as an Omega, and Omegas aren't 'allowed' to become heroes. The reasoning is something along the lines of: 'They're too weak, and they're vulnerable to commands, so they could never manage it, anyway' (In this AU, an Alpha can command an Omega using their Alpha voice, and they'll be forced to obey); but it's really just sexism. I love fanfiction that use the AlphaXOmega universe to address or make commentary on gender or sex-based issues. 

Hawks was still taken in by the Commission in this story, but as soon as he presented, he was told he couldn't be a hero and given the boot - despite all the time and resources they'd already invested in him. Being kicked out obviously did not end well for Hawks, nor leave him with a good impression of omegas or how they were treated in society. He didn't live up to the stereotypes expected of him. Nor did he want to. He'd been training to become a hero and had no skills or goals beyond that. This eventually leads to him becoming a vigilante (or a villain, depending on your definition) and meeting Dabi. 

Kudos to this fic for the progression of Dabi and Hawks's relationship. Their healthy respect for each other (with Dabi also not living up to his Alpha stereotypes and refusing to, lest it make him too similar to Endeavor) was inspirational. It's so nice to find stories about these two with no toxicity. 

The League-of-Villains-as-family, or pack, in this case, was also enjoyable. I love when this group comes together and learns to genuinely care for each other. They all need somebody, and there's no reason it can't be each other. They all have their demons.

You get the feeling they're making their mark here as a group. Hawks, being a part of their group and having an actual good cause he's working towards, humanizes the group to the world. If an Omega is there of his own free will and seems to be treated better with them than he was out in regular society; If he's strong enough to not only hold his own but fight against trained pro-heroes; If he rescues kids and refuses to kill, despite being labeled as a villain; then it certainly makes people start to question. It certainly makes people more likely to listen to him. 

I also love Hawks' 'accidental' adoption of Shouto Todoroki and Shouto's mostly nonchalant attitude about it. It makes sense that it would drive Dabi crazy, though: them communicating. At least the Hawks in this story also hates Endeavor, so there never needed to be any fights over that.

At the time, there were many works with distinctive catchphrases for characters, so this was an experiment to create a catchphrase for the work rather than the characters, thereby giving the work itself its very own personality. I then put it to work as dialogue that does not compromise the individuality of each character, even when multiple characters are using it.

In order to generate an impression of the characters with a limited number of pages, I did this as a sort of staging effect in the sense that ‘a character's traits are incorporated in their stance.’ You have a good eye….

I believe each squad was assigned a color, I once tried to identify the location of squad barracks based on those colors. Since there are 4 gates associated with a particular color, I thought of Shōryūmon as Seiryū (east - blue), Shuwaimon as Suzaku (south - red), Hakutōmon as Byakko (west - white), Kokuryōmon as Genbu (north - black).

As I recall, the townscape was circular so I tried to arrange the colors of each squad with the ‘Yellow Emperor’ as the centre and it turned out as follows. I suspect it might be in this circular arrangement: starting from Shōryūmon with 6, 1, 11, 8, then from Shuwaimon with 13, 4, 2, from Hakutōmon with 3, 5, 9, and finally from Kokuryōmon with 7, 10, 12. ×[1]  

Moreover, I'm awfully curious about the actual line up because it is Ichimaru-san from Squad 3 who interrupted the gatekeeper of Hakutōmon, and the three individuals who turned traitor are situated close together. Is there any established blueprint for the placement of squad barracks within Sensei's mind?

Meetings were boring.

He could spend hours sitting and listening to a bunch of old Alphas and Betas complaint about whatever they didn’t seem fit for the Empire; Phil would sit next to him and take in most of what was said, answering questions that could have an easy fix if needed, while Techno would keep quiet and just jump in if it was necessary, which in this occasion, was almost unnecessary. He wasn’t in the mood for them, he wasn’t in the mood for this, the faint scent of lavender turning pungent by the minute until he stood from his chair and called the meeting off for another time. None of the elders said anything, they knew better than to make the emperor get them on his bad side when he was in a bad mood.

As the council exited the room, Phil stood from his seat and approached his friend, the pinkette’s left hand clenched a few times around nothing by his side, and the blond hummed knowingly. “Ya know I can take care of this stuff mate why don’t you go and relax a bit?” his grin only made Techno roll his eyes and scoff, he couldn’t be mad at Phil even if he wanted to, but, the idea sounded pretty enticing.

He walked to his quarters, the heels of his boots echoing through the empty hallway, the chill from the Arctic slipped through the windows, and long velvety curtains hung at the sides of each one, letting the natural light fill the corridor with cold shades. He got to a pair of dark spruce doors, his lips curved into a smile, he could already smell the overwhelming scent of his pet stinging his throat.

He opened the doors and entered the room, eyes meeting with a figure that fought to take a muzzle out of his face, making the chains latched to the collar on his neck clink as the links hit one another. The sound of the doors made the other man stop his struggle, a growl escaping his throat as the pinkette stood at the door’s frame. Techno snickered, stepped in and closed the doors behind him, the tangy odour of mint invaded his lungs and made his eyes water.

The growling continued as he approached, he took a good look at the man in front of him, it looked like he’d hurt himself as he tried to take the muzzle and collar off, his clothes had a few rips and torn parts, nothing that couldn’t be fixed, his dirty blond hair was a mess, going in different directions and still with a bedhead –how long had he been sleeping?–, drool dripping down his chin and into the carpeted floor, he tsked.

“Look at yourself, you truly are a mutt.”

“F-Fuck off…”

“Now, now, calm down pet, we’re having fun today.”

The blond heavy breathing calmed a bit, eyes focused on his every move as he unlatched the chain of the floor and made sure to have a good hold on it. Techno took slow steps backwards to the bed, chain pulled taunt to bring the Alpha closer to him, earning him a couple of snarls as he tugged it more than necessary from time to time.

“Let’s make a deal,” his lips curved as he spoke, eyes trailing up and down the other with hunger, the blond focused his eyes on him, interested by whatever the offer was, “I’m having a shitty day, make me feel good, and I’ll consider taking the muzzle off, and maybe, give you a little treat.”

“Be a good boy, yeah?” The sweet smell of lavender calmed the Alpha, his instincts going nuts as the light caresses from his mate took him under, his mint scent dropped in strength, the mixture of them making the blond’s head foggy, the Omega purred at the sight, so much training to reach something like this made it worth it.

So I had this idea after I read a dark story about King!Dream taking FormerPrince!Techno as a concubine, it was a porn with plot and I thought, what if roles were reversed? 😈😈😈

So, what if Dream got take as a gift to Prince!Techno? Techno here is a Omega but he dislike every Alpha that he meet because they always see him as inferior, even with his status of future Emperor.

Dream's kingdom give him away as a gift of peace (maybe because they lost a war, still deciding about that), because they know that Emperor Philza is still looking to someone that will take his son hand in marriage, and the idea was that Dream can't do much as a concubine. Basically the idea of Dream's kingdom is to get ride of a troublemaker-not-so-good-prince, and get in the good side of the future Emperor 😆 LOL.

The darker version is that Prince!Dream get captured and brought to Emperor!Techno (still to decide).

But in both version Techno (that is a Omega) has a resentment for alphas. He decides to keep Dream not only as a power move, but more as a way to stablish dominance over an Alphas, and because with Dream as a concubine Techno doesn't need anymore to deal with other rulers Alpha that would try to submit him because of his Omega's status.
