Trend of the Universal Market
I still remember seeing this light cone when the game came out and being like "who are these two???" and "why does the guy in the back look so devious?"
Anyways, I do think the cone has some vague things to be analyzed connecting to Aventurine, but only some since the main focus is clearly Topaz.
"A New Round of Shuffling" is the name of the ability the light cone provides, and I think it's clearly connected to Aventurine given he's known for being a gambler and is shown with cards in a lot of his other media appearances.
I also think the description is pretty neat too, giving us a pretty good summary of some of what the IPC does. I personally think it aligns a lot of what we saw during the Trailblaze Continuance on Jarilo-VI (where Topaz was introduced and we heard Aventurine's voice for the first time) and shows us more of the IPC's values overall. For being named the Interastral Peace Corporation they definitely are less interested in peace and more interested in profit.
It's a conversation which I like to think is between Topaz and Aventurine, mostly because the other guy is just a random IPC goon and probably isn't talking to Topaz, especially since the dialogue seems to be between people of equal level, just from the vibes it gives.
I'm hoping next update we get some more Aventurine stuff for me to analyze because after I finish the Eidolons I don't want to run out of things too fast!

See the thing is. I know I'm good at writing. Like I have my weak areas or things I need to improve in, but it's not a skill I otherwise spend a lot of time feeling insecure about because a) if I don't believe in my writing literally who will b) if I want to publish my writing I ought to at least feel a resting level of good about it because editors and agents likely will not be cradling my face like a prize cat and telling me how talented I am while asking for their edits c) I've always had an audience for my writing even at its worst– I started sharing my original works online when I was around 16 & that really helped sell to me the idea of 'there will always be someone out there who likes what you do' d) untalented men never think this hard about the quality of their works and they always end up published anyway and e) I don't have many other thoroughly developed skills so why not have one I feel good about. Having said this. Awkward feeling to realize you're one of the authorial weak links in your postgraduate creative writing degree's social circle
#part of the issue is definitely also like. i am good at what i do! its just that im the only one doing it#40 people in my fuckass degree and im the only one who writes fantasy fiction. we had one more girl but she did romance & dropped out#(to be an agent) (this isnt a sad story)#but yeah no im mostly surrounded by very talented poets and screenwriters. which makes my works seem a little. frivolous. in comparison#and my friends especially are so fucking talented it makes me ill. and they engage politely with me about my writing but its also#superficial and i cant blame them because its simply not what they write/what theyre interested in! i feel the same about poetry#but my friend actually seemed surprised a while ago when i mentioned a thing id been writing and i joked that it looked like she was#surprised i could have good ideas and she didnt answer. and like. man.#i am a good writer! i fucking know im a good writer but im a good FANTASY writer and these people are. different writers and theyre good an#im floundering in this environment next to them and theres something not as like.. artistic in what i do its so fucking embarrassing#and they also display just such a lack of curiosity as to others' writing like.. they wont check the moodle forum to read what the others i#our module have uploaded for each assignment?? like arent you even just CURIOUS? but now im also just wondering if theyre like 🤞 this#with each other in a way that excludes me and my stupid flop ass fiction. i dont know. its just so silly. everyone always talks about#finding community in writing groups & degrees & such and that is exactly the last and most isolating place ive ever been insofar as my#writing goes. like at least way back in high school no one cared in general. here people do care. just not about what i can bring to the#table. although again i really dont know if this is a larger scale lack of curiosity/involvement in others works so i digress.#notnow#tbd#sorry this is a very priveleged complaint to have i AM deeply enjoying my degree and ik im so lucky to get to go where i attend. i just#occasionally feel sad. and knowing i failed my last assignment (which WAS fiction) (one chance to prove myself! cute) isnt helping much#if the poetrypeople are better at me even in the thing im meant to be good at. baby we're about to enter the mental health meat grinder.#but we stay silly. i think i just need to find people online etc to talk to about writing again like i did at 17.#just full insanity paragraph analysis. that was fun. i enjoyed that.

ok im back to hating everything. My prof really did NOT do a good job this semester I feel completely unprepared and… I’m aware that what I’m trying to do is so much more complex than what we covered in class but normally I don’t have problems to scale things up like this but I think I severely underestimated the complexity of what I’m trying to model. Lol. god I’m so scared bc a huge part of my research hinges on me figuring this out and I have NO ONE I can ask bc no one works with QGIS on this scale so help me fucking g-d lmaoooo 😭
#I’ll be alright I’ll be ok#I’m just venting#I do know people who work with it but they’re acquaintances and it’ll be weird if I ask for help out of the blue#I WILL ask them but not for this assignment cos it’s due on Wednesday 😂#it’s just a little trial run so I’m ok bc I think I have enough data for that#I’m just gonna do some raster analysis tmrrw bc I’m good at that#and then hopefully he won’t notice that I have no fucking clue how to interpret the spatial lag model lololol#I just don’t fucking understand what my output is tbh#like. 😭 too many variables and they’re so weirdly spatially distributed but I don’t understand where that comes from bc#they should be clustered bc I RECORDED them as clusters myself#is it bc the stupid model doesn’t understand that there’s 5 clusters? and it treats it like they are one giant cluster?#I don’t know! and neither does the fucking internet apparently! 😂#UAGGHHHH ok time to go to bed#shut up Sam

OST from link click? Curious what instrument you connect with cxs :3
Disclaimer that I was and always will be a band kid, so I'm much more likely to associate characters with wind/percussion instruments, as opposed to stringed instruments.
Also, this is just my opinion/take on the character! It's by no means the be-all and end-all of everything, so please don't take offense if you think that I've misread a character's personality. Feel free to share if you think a different instrument could also work well, I'm always eager to learn more about music!
warning - SGDLR s2 mild spoilers
Cheng Xiaoshi's a wild and fun character to me, but he's definitely matured and come into his own so much over the past two seasons (especially when he believed that Lu Guang had died.) He's loyal, determined, and would jump in front of a train in order to save someone's life. CXS is also deeply empathetic (which likely has more than a bit to do with his powers.) As seen in s1, he has a soft spot for families, especially a person who plays the role of a 'child' in a family (Emma). That being said, he does have a tendency to be headstrong, and, like Lu Guang, tries to shoulder a lot of things without help from others. He's loud and confident, especially around those that he's close to. Because he's single-minded and quite driven, he sometimes gets tunnel vision when doing things that are very important to him.
My conclusion: analog synthesizer (specifically a Korg synth, since that's the only analog one I'm familiar with...)
Analog synths have a really specific kind of 'sound' that is different from more modern, digital synths. Nothing else can really compare to their uniqueness. Because they're a bit older, keeping them in running shape can be difficult, but I believe that the dedicated CXS would be willing to devote his time to properly caring for his instrument. Though their designs are simple (one knob = one function, as opposed to tens of knobs and buttons for hundreds of different uses), they require patience to learn, but are accessible to even a beginning musician, able to connect with many people from diverse walks of life. Cheng Xiaoshi's character is ever-changing, which also fits with the huge range of sounds you can produce with a synth. As a multifaceted character who possesses so much potential in any Link Click content that's heading our way, I can't think of another instrument with as much originality that would fit him.

looking at the results of the lore purism poll and i’ve come to the conclusion i think we could be better implying if not directly communicating how lore purist we are during meta and character analysis; in poll terms i don’t think anybody will ever fully agree analytically with someone more than two points away from them, bc it’s near impossible when you aren’t technically even looking at the same narrative and aren’t considering the same plot points as canon
#eleanor.txt#saying this in the tags so it’s quieter#but i think the disclaimer of where u lie on the scale could help dodge some moral superiority implications#everyone’s surprisingly respectful abt the actual meta and the actual analysis#but becomes vaguely vicious and passive aggressive when it comes to expressing where the line ‘should’ be drawn between canon/non-canon#and i think sometimes occasionally what we think is character discourse#is actually discourse abt what kind of lore purism is ‘correct’ and ‘right’#so the discourse ends up being very roundabout and messy#bc nobody’s actually talking abt the thing they disagree on#i think it happens a LOT in the qsmp fandom bc the streamers themselves all have very different stances on their own lore#and what they consider canon. so ur viewpoint is inherently affected by who you watch initially#and is then filtered through what you yourself consider canon from there#which can and often is completely different to another streamer then another viewer#might remake the poll w text at some point instead of numbers bc i think a lot of self-assigned 3s may be 4s if i typed out the scale#i have the ELPS (eleanor’s lore purism scale) in my notes app. she’s itching to see the light of day

How Can Understanding Effect Sizes Improve Your Statistics Homework

When working on your stats assignment, you’ve probably encountered situations where you’re asked to decide whether a result is significant. Maybe you ran a t-test and got a p-value of 0.03. That’s significant at the 0.05 level—but does that really tell you how big the result is?
This is where effect sizes come in. They go beyond a simple “yes or no” answer from statistical significance and give you a way to interpret results. Understanding effect sizes can not only improve your stats thinking but also make your stats homework more informative and precise.
In this article, we’ll break down effect sizes in a way that makes sense, using real-life examples. So, next time you think, “Can someone help me for statistics homework on effect sizes?”—you’ll already have the answers!
Why Effect Size Matters More Than Just Statistical Significance in Your Stats Homework
A common misconception among students is that a statistically significant result always means a big or important result. That’s just not true.
Here’s an example:
Suppose you compare the test scores of two groups of students and find that Group A scores higher than Group B, with a p-value of 0.049. Significant? Yes.
But what if the actual difference between the means of the two groups is just 0.5 points on a 100-point test? Meaningful? Not really.
Effect size tells us how big or important this difference is, not just whether it exists. This makes your stats assignments more nuanced and complete.
Types of Effect Sizes and When to Use Them in Your Stats Assignments
Depending on the type of analysis you’re doing, there are different measures of effect size you can use. Let’s go through the most common ones you’ll encounter.
1. Cohen’s d: How Much of a Difference Between Two Groups?
If you’re working with t-tests (comparing two groups), Cohen’s d is your go-to effect size measure. It tells you how far apart the two group means are in terms of standard deviations.
Formula for Cohen’s d:
d = (Mean of Group 1−Mean of Group 2)/Pooled Standard Deviation
Example:
You’re comparing the test scores of two different teaching methods:
Old Method: Mean = 75, SD = 10
New Method: Mean = 80, SD = 10
d=80−75/10=0.5
According to rules of thumb:
0.2 = Small
0.5 = Medium
0.8+ = Large
So, here we have a medium effect size, so the new method has some impact.
2. Pearson’s r: How Strong is the Relationship Between Variables
When you’re doing correlation analysis, Pearson’s r measures the strength and direction of the relationship between two variables.
Example:
If you analyze the relationship between study hours and exam scores and find r = 0.6, that means there’s a moderate to strong positive correlation—more study hours means higher scores.
But if r = 0.1, even though it’s statistically significant, the effect size is so small that studying more won’t make much of a difference.
3. R² (Coefficient of Determination): How Well Does Your Model Explain Variance
In regression analysis, R² tells you how much of the variance in the dependent variable is explained by the independent variable(s).
Example:
If you build a model predicting final exam scores based on attendance rate, and R² = 0.85, that means 85% of the variance in exam scores is explained by attendance—very strong!
If R² = 0.20, only 20% of the variance is explained, so there’s other factors to consider.
How Knowing Effect Size Helps You Score Higher on Statistics Assignments
You might be wondering—how does knowing effect sizes actually help me on my statistics assignments?
1. Helps You Interpret Results Better
Just reporting a p-value without an effect size is incomplete. Professors love when you go the extra mile to explain how big a result is, not just whether it’s statistically significant.
2. Avoids Misleading Conclusions
If you only focus on statistical significance, you might misconstrue a result. A tiny but statistically significant effect doesn’t mean it’s important in practice.
3. Strengthens Your Research and Data Analysis Skills
Effect sizes are used in real research, psychology, medicine, economics. Master them now and you’ll be ahead when dealing with real data in your future career.
Hands-On Example: Let’s Apply Effect Size to a Simple Statistics Homework
Problem: Comparing Two Study Methods
Suppose you do a study comparing two study techniques:

Your t-test gives a p-value = 0.04, so the difference is statistically significant. But let’s calculate the effect size (Cohen’s d):
d = (82−78)/{(12+10)/2}=411≈0.36
A d of 0.36 means small to moderate effect size. While the result is statistically significant, the actual effect of study methods isn’t big.
This extra layer of explanation will impress your professor and help you shine in your statistics homework!
Conclusion: Next Time You Think “Help Me for Statistics Homework,” Remember Effect Sizes
Effect sizes add depth to your statistical analysis. They go beyond “significant vs. not significant” and help you understand the practical impact of your results. So next time you work on a statistical problem or look for someone who can help you with statistics assignment, don’t just stop at the p-value—calculate the effect size and make your analysis more meaningful!

Impact of Dummy Variables on Regression Outcomes: Econometrics Analysis Help
Introduction
In general, dummy variables in econometrics are effective tools to incorporate qualitative data into regression models. Usually taking values of either 0 or 1, dummy variables allow us to capture the effects of discrete categories (such as gender, region, or treatment) on the dependent variable. To students studying econometrics, dummy variables represent the possibility of making such categorical influences quantifiable within the standard methodologies of regression testing. These are particularly useful when analyzing data that contain not just quantitative factors but also qualitative factors such as disparity of income between different genders and the effect of government policies across various regions.
Dummy variables are very useful in econometric analysis for obtaining accurate analysis and interpretable results, as they segment data based on meaningful categories that may otherwise remain hidden. For students working on econometric analysis, learning how to implement dummy variables can simplify complex analyses and make models more instinctive. Students can take assistance from econometrics homework help experts to master different techniques that can be used in the most efficient way to set up and interpret dummy variables. This guide focuses on the basic concept of dummy variables, their use in linear regression, their importance, and their implementation using Python codes to help students in their coursework assignments.
How to Use Dummy Variables for Better Interpretability in Linear Regression Models
Explaining what Dummy Variables are in Linear Regression
When conducting a linear regression analysis, dummy variables are used to quantify how categorical variables impact the outcome variable. For instance, we can examine the effects that the region of an individual has on his or her income. Here, the region is categorical (North, South, East, West), and by using dummy variables we obtain the binary set of indicators for each corresponding region allowing us to model the changes in incomes peculiar to these locations. If the dummy variables were not included in the equation, the regression would assume the region to be a continuous variable which is a nonsensical approach, or it would exclude this variable altogether, thus eliminating useful insights. Dummy variables solve this issue by following a binary format, where 0 or 1 are assigned to show whether that certain category exists or not. Here is a guide on performing dummy variable coding in Python, especially for simple regression analysis.
Step-by-Step Guide with Python Code
Suppose we have a dataset involving information on income, gender, and level of education. To incorporate categorical effects into the income prediction, we will incorporate dummy variables.
1. Loading the Dataset
Suppose we have a sample dataset of people's income, gender, and education levels. We’ll use the Python library pandas to load and explore the dataset:
import pandas as PD
# Sample dataset
data = pd.DataFrame({
'income': [55000, 48000, 62000, 45000, 52000],
'gender': ['Male', 'Female', 'Male', 'Female', 'Male'],
'education': ['Bachelor', 'Master', 'Bachelor', 'PhD', 'Master']
})
print(data)
Now, let’s introduce dummy variables for gender and education to capture their unique impacts on income.
1. Creating dummy variables using pandas.get_dummies()
To make dummy variables, python’s Panda library provides an easy method. Let’s create dummy variables for gender as well as for education.
# Generate dummy variables
data_dummies = pd.get_dummies(data, columns=['gender', 'education'], drop_first=True)
print(data_dummies)
By using drop_first=True we prevent the so-called dummy variable trap which happens when all categories are included in the model leading to perfect multicollinearity. Here, the gender_Female and the education_Master, education_PhD point to each category.
1. Setting Up the Regression Model
It is now possible to fit the linear regression using dummy variables to predict income. We are going to build and evaluate the model by using the statsmodels package in Python.
import statsmodels.api as sm
# Define the dependent and independent variables
X = data_dummies.drop('income', axis=1)
y = data_dummies['income']
# Add constant for intercept
X = sm.add_constant(X)
# Fit the model
model = sm.OLS(y, X).fit()
print(model.summary())
In this setup, we include gender_Female as a dummy variable and assign it a value of 1 for ‘Female’ and 0 for ‘Male’ which will be our reference category. Likewise, for education, “Bachelor” is the baseline category, with separate summy variables on “Master” and “PhD”. Using the results of the constructed model, we can understand how being female as well as having higher educational standards influences income as compared to other baseline categories.
Interpreting the Results
Let’s understand how dummy variables affect the regression:
• Intercept: The intercept means the anticipated income for the reference category, in this case, a male with an education level of Bachelor’s degree.
• Gender Coefficient: The coefficient of gender_Female describes the variation of income of females from the male baseline category.
• Education Coefficients: The coefficients for education_Master and education_PhD indicate the income difference caused by these degrees compared to those with a bachelor’s degree.
We get insight of how each categorical variable affects the income by comparing each dummy variable’s coefficient. For instance, if the coefficient for gender_Female is negative this means, females earn less on average than males.

Choose a topic that interests you.
Make sure the topic is relevant to the course or field.
Check if there’s enough research material available.
4. Conducting Thorough Research
Good research underpins every strong academic paper. Without solid evidence, even the most well-written paper will lack credibility.
Importance of Research in Academic Writing
Research provides the foundation for your arguments, allowing you to back up your claims with facts and insights from experts in the field.
Primary vs. Secondary Sources
Primary sources are original materials, such as experiments, surveys, or historical documents.
Secondary sources interpret or analyze primary sources, such as review articles or textbooks.
Using Academic Databases
Academic databases like JSTOR, PubMed, and Google Scholar provide access to peer-reviewed journals, articles, and books. These resources are often more credible than general internet sources.
Evaluating Sources for Credibility
Check the author’s credentials, publication date, and whether the source has been peer-reviewed. Avoid using outdated or biased sources unless they’re necessary for a historical perspective.
5. Developing a Strong Thesis Statement
Your thesis statement is the core of your paper. It should clearly state your main argument and guide the reader on what to expect.
What Is a Thesis Statement?
A thesis statement is a concise sentence or two that summarizes the main point or claim of your paper.
Characteristics of a Strong Thesis Statement
Specific and clear
Arguable and not a statement of fact
Focused and relevant to your paper’s content
Examples of Effective Thesis Statements
“The rise of social media has significantly impacted the political landscape by increasing both misinformation and civic engagement.”
“Climate change poses a serious threat to biodiversity, and immediate actions are necessary to prevent irreversible damage.”
6. Structuring Your Academic Paper
A well-structured paper makes it easy for the reader to follow your arguments. Most academic papers follow a similar structure, consisting of an introduction, body, and conclusion.
Understanding the Basic Structure
Each section of your paper serves a specific purpose:
Introduction: Introduces the topic and thesis.
Body: Presents and supports your arguments.
Conclusion: Summarizes the findings and reiterates the thesis.
Outlining Your Paper
An outline serves as a roadmap for your paper, helping you organize your thoughts and ensure that each point logically flows into the next.
Creating a Coherent Flow of Ideas
Transitions between paragraphs are essential for readability. Make sure each paragraph naturally leads into the next, reinforcing your thesis throughout.
7. Writing the Introduction
The introduction should engage the reader’s interest and provide a preview of what the paper will cover.
Hooking the Reader
Start with an interesting fact, a rhetorical question, or a brief anecdote related to your topic. This helps grab the reader’s attention right from the start.
Providing Background Information
Give the reader enough context to understand the importance of your topic. Avoid going into too much detail, as this will be covered in the body.
Stating the Thesis and Purpose
End the introduction with your thesis statement and a brief outline of the paper’s structure.
8. Crafting the Body of the Paper
The body is where you present your arguments, backed by evidence from your research. Each paragraph should focus on a single point that supports your thesis.
Organizing Ideas Logically
Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence that introduces the point, followed by evidence and examples.
Writing Clear and Concise Paragraphs
Avoid long, convoluted sentences. Aim for clarity and brevity, ensuring each sentence adds value to your argument.
Using Evidence and Examples
Support your points with evidence from credible sources, such as statistics, quotes, and examples. This adds weight to your arguments.
Citing Sources Correctly
Use in-text citations according to your style guide. Proper citation not only gives credit to the original authors but also strengthens your credibility.
9. Writing the Conclusion
The conclusion wraps up your paper by summarizing your main points and reinforcing the thesis.
Summarizing Key Points
Briefly restate the main points of your paper, highlighting how they support your thesis.
Restating the Thesis
Rephrase your thesis statement, showing how your arguments have proven it to be true.
Providing a Closing Thought
End with a thought-provoking statement, a call to action, or a suggestion for further research.
10. Editing and Revising Your Paper
Revision is essential to producing a polished final product. Don’t skip this step!
The Importance of Revising and Editing
Editing allows you to catch errors, improve clarity, and ensure your paper meets academic standards.
Common Errors to Look Out For
Grammatical mistakes
Unclear arguments
Inconsistent citation format
Using Peer Review
A fresh pair of eyes can catch errors you might miss. Ask a friend, classmate, or mentor to review your paper.
