Ladies and gentlemen! I present to you, my ocs:

SHIMA: VILLAINS' TALES

The title is always up to change, I'm never fully satisfied with it

Short summary: Shima accidentally becomes the owner of a magical book that allows her to summon villains from her favorite stories.

Long summary: Shima, an 11-year-old girl, is sent to spend her summer break in her aunt's library far away from home. Her aunt, Lilly, persuades her to perform a summoning ritual together in order to summon a hero from Shima's favorite book. However, Shima makes a mistake, and it turns out that her aunt planned to sacrifice her in order for the ritual to work. Instead, her aunt dies. Due to the complications, the ritual summons a villain from the book instead of a hero. After facing many challenges, Shima finds herself stuck with two newly-summoned villains, the responsibility of running the entire library, and a magical book with three summons left.

That's basically it to cover the basics but I HAVE MORE. I always do.

By more I mean the plot for two seasons

Fun facts about each character:

- Shima was 9yo originally and her name was actually the name of the magical world she was stuck in (The whole story was kind of reversed in the first draft)

- William is a Swiftie, even his outfit was inspired by one of Taylor's ones, they have a twin sister

- Gaia is inspired by the "Baba Jaga" legend, she had a husband in the first draft but now she's a lesbian, good for her

- Mint is never getting their name changed tho it doesn't make sense, they are my favourite

- Simeon realizes he's FtM about 3/4 thru the season 1, they are a doll and I still am on the fence on how much he's doll (like if he has a digestive, nervous or reproductive system)

- Roy! Roy is a wolf boi (he comes from an omega verse book and he will take that secret to his grave)

- Tiffany is a cis guy and always was, he was the first character ever created and the story kind of grew off of him, he's my second favourite

- Serene was named by my girlfriend, they are inspired by Scar from Lion King (but in a very unique way)

- Shard used to be called "Fi" and had blond hair, he's the first character to learn how to read and write (second is Simeon and that's it, they are the only ones)

- Adeline actually wears a ponytail most of the time, she's 2m tall (no, I'm not converting it to feet, I don't know shit about the metric system)

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

Dunno how to put it properly into words but lately I find myself thinking more about that particular innocence of fairy tales, for lack of better word. Where a traveller in the middle of a field comes across an old woman with a scythe who is very clearly Death, but he treats her as any other auntie from the village. Or meeting a strange green-skinned man by the lake and sharing your loaf of bread with him when he asks because even though he's clearly not human, your mother's last words before you left home were to be kind to everyone. Where the old man in the forest rewards you for your help with nothing but a dove feather, and when you accept even such a seemingly useless reward with gratitude, on your way home you learn that it's turned to solid gold. Where supernatural beings never harm a person directly and every action against humans is a test of character, and every supernatural punishment is the result of a person bringing on their own demise through their own actions they could have avoided had they changed their ways. Where the hero wins for no other reason than that they were a good person. I don't have the braincells to describe this better right now but I wish modern fairy tales did this more instead of trying to be fantasy action movies.

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.

you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.

you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!
