Super Rose by Kyuta Ishikawa,which was serialized in the magazine Hitomi from the April 1959 issue until its cessation of publication,and it is a girl manga with superpower battles as its theme,which was quite rare during its serialization period.

The story goes that Mayumi,the daughter of Dr. Makimura,the director of the Makimura Science Institute,is about to be kidnapped by the Sea Demons group(海魔団) who are trying to interfere with the doctor's research,but suddenly a meteorite falls and Mayumi gets caught up in it,gaining the superpower to transform into Super Rose and fight with villains.

Her transformed appearance is a black bodysuit with bunny ears like a black rabbit,yellow gloves and boots,and a red cape with a rose buckle on her chest.Super Rose's super powers include super strength, flight,see-through vision,etc.,and she uses a bulletproof cloak and a ring that fires electric shocks,but somehow the rose on her chest seems to be her weakness.

Super Rose is a fairly early female transformed fighter of japanese character,she was born nine years earlier than Bela from Humanoid Monster Bem,12 years earlier than Andro Mark from Suki! Suki!! Majo-sensei,and 14 years earlier than Cutie Honey.She might also be the first transformed fighting magical girl character,but that is controversial,after all,the source of her powers is not actually clear.

Don't know if you've answered this before but in your Winx thing, are there any notable/interesting cultural differences between Earth and the rest?

So physically, one of the main traits on Earth is rounded ears. All the other realms generally have pointed ears, with a few exceptions for 'weird shit' ie: Domino having Dragonlike ears, Andros having finlike ears, etc. But people from Earth have rounded ears like irl people.

Culturally..... A lot of the stuff that's different on Earth comes from not having Magic or contact with the rest of the Realms as a whole. Technology developed to make up for it, whether it be practical 'we can't teleport let's make planes and trains' to just for fun 'we crave to fly so let's make rollercoasters!'. and the general idea that Magic is fictional and all historical mention of it is just people not understanding Science.

Paladins Character Design Chatter #1

So I recently got back into Paladins: Champions of the Realm, a little hero shooter from Hi Rez that I loved a lot from 2016-2021 and is still going today. It's been fun, and I realized just how much I fuck with each of the game's character designs, and the designs of each of the game's major skins. I decided I'd go through and see if I can't manage to chatter up and semi-review each of the game's characters in alphabetical order as well as their skins. Note: For the most part, I will only be touching on a skin if it has a unique voice pack (this is most of them) or have some other significance (for example, the ones that were distributed during very short periods of time such as Strike Maeve.) I will also be touching on each skin's weapon as you are actually allowed to freely mix each skin with another skin's weapon if so choose, so each are meant to stand on their own.

That brings us to our first Champion of the Realm: Androxus

Androxus is the edgy cool-boy anti-hero archetype in a nutshell. He's the face on all of the promotional art, a portrait of him serves as the game's icon on the console versions, and his splash art is the game's steam banner, and as a mascot he certainly is visually striking. The distinct horns on Androxus's mask, the green glow in his eyes and on his weapon, and of course, his prominent fucked-up looking arm make it clear that this man is twisted, corrupted by something, and he is drenched in sinister energy. Simultaneously, though, the dark bandages he wears, his torn sleeve and the weathered cape make it clear that he is not invincible, he's taken wounds in battle, and he's still alive regardless. It's not a perfect design, mind you, and it's certainly not treading any revolutionary new ground, Androxus does not reinvent the wheel of a badass anti-hero, but it serves the purpose of selling you on this amoral lone wolf killer exceedingly well.

Androxus's gun, on the other hand, is comparatively more inventive. The barrel of the gun is the top jaw of a very prominent mouth with sharp, gnarled-looking teeth built into the weapon, as if the gun itself is gritting its teeth with malice. If Androxus himself didn't sell you on the idea that this guy is fucked up and evil, the revolver certainly will. The revolver has a break action reload and when you reload it in-game, the unspent casings drift away before disappearing, as if they were simply the ghosts of the bullets you fired, which is a really fun touch. My only issue with it is that it maybe doesn't look rough enough? Besides some scratches, the weapon itself looks to be mostly pristine which conflicts with Androxus's otherwise very war-torn design. Maybe if it looked a little more beaten-up it'd fit a tiny bit more.

Overall I'd probably give my boy Andro an 8/10 rating. He's very effective at what he does, but what he does is admittedly not super special all things considered, and I can't say he sticks in my head anywhere near as much as some other antihero designs.

This leads me into Steam Demon, the first skin Androxus ever got back in 2017, and boy what a start it was. Steam Demon completely reimagines Androxus as a steampunk/chempunk gentleman scientist using his experiments as weaponry, his mask turned into something of a protective gas mask and his cursed arm turned into a brass metal prosthetic. The vials of mysterious green goo in Steam Demon's weapon and arm, as well as the capsule he wears on his belt is immediately recognizable as a dangerous, further reinforcing the fact that he is a man of science and proposing the idea that he might just be a little bit reckless in pursuit of his research. This adventurous scientist-explorer angle is further reinforced by the fact that Steam Demon's trousers and his boots are caked in mud, and together with the prosthetic arm and hand cannon, overall builds a cohesive image of a man who's unafraid to get his hands dirty in the name of science, literally or metaphorically

Steam Demon's weapon is also quite the interesting piece of work. The razor-sharp teeth resembling that of a demon or a beast are gone, instead replaced with the teeth of, fittingly, a clockwork mechanism, leaning further into the steampunk aesthetic. The weapon itself is also notably not a traditional revolver, instead being a bizarre chemical apparatus of some kind, and the cylinder is instead a small vial of mysterious green goop that is almost certainly highly toxic. When used in-game this weapon actually has a unique reload animation where Androxus will fold the weapon and let steam out of the vial before closing it again, a neat twist on the formula and keeping the weapon recognizably break action.

All in all, I'd have to give Steam Demon Androxus a solid 10/10 rating, honestly. While there are a couple things I'd change here or there, the horns kinda look a little silly on this skin without any real demon iconography to pull from for one, I think this skin accomplishes everything it sets out to do with flying colors, using the tropes of steampunk and chempunk to make a design that just truly sells the concept without ever feeling like it's trying too hard or not hard enough. Paladins actually doesn't have any other steampunk skins or iconography anywhere else in the game, which is really unfortunate in my opinion as they really knocked it out of the ballpark on the first try. Oh well.

Whew, that was more words than I was expecting to have for these. I think I'll have to chop these posts up into 2 or 3 skins at a time so I don't burn myself out. I hope this was insightful or at the very least entertaining to read, and I hope to make more of these in the future. Tata for now.~

Winx Club Rewrite: General Info

I understand this is me being very late to the party, but that’s pretty on-brand for me at this point lol

A few years ago, I started to work on a possible rewrite for Fate: The Winx Saga but it soon became this monstrous project of rewriting the entire franchise. Because while this series is one of my beloved childhood series, it is also very messy with its world-building and plotlines, as well being done dirty over and over again by its countless reboots. As much as I would have loved to create a full-on alternative universe like the ones I’ve seen on tumblr for years, it just took up so much of my time that could have been spent on other projects and it was starting to feel more like a chore than anything else. Eventually, I did create some fashion boards for how to translate their outfits from the show into real life, and wrote up some concept ideas for their live-action costumes, which led to me just writing up the notes I had for the rewrite to share them with y'all.

Some of these ideas were inspired by other people’s rewrite of the series, some of these ideas came to me while writing this up, and a lot of these are my attempt to make sense of Winx Club’s fucked-up lore. While these were originally written with a live-action reboot in mind, these could also work for an animated reboot targeted for teens/young adults.

This is probably the extent I’ll do for any sort of Winx Club rewrite, but it was still fun!

-There are five main planets which circles the giant sun of the Magical Dimension. Omega is the furthest planet (being more similar to a planetoid) and contains mostly wastelands, which act as different levels of imprisonment for criminals or ancient beings of darkness. Orez, Fallat, and Rot are also planetoids which circle the sun, being even further out than Omega but they were once seen as part of an ancient prophecy. Callisto was the first planet to be born (despite being the smallest of them all), and it acts as the setting for the series, as it is home for the city of Magix, three main schools, the Fortress of Light, Pixie Village, and the remains of Aster Dell. Lumenia is the planet which has Solaria (currently the biggest kingdom after the fall of Domino), Eraklyon the wasteland which was Domino (located near the top of the planet), Dyamond, the island of Quartzia (a renamed Isis/Iris), and Romulea. Titania is the home of Zenith (its largest country), Melody, Oppositus, Hoggar, Whisperia, and Dolona. Valeria is the planet which has Andros (along with its dual kingdom of Atlantis), Linphea, Serenia, Prometia, Espero, and Ohm.

-Fairies are a group of magi would use their emotions and memories to fuel their magic, with their wings being created from their leftover magical reserves and the transformations are used to help fairies control their increasing magical prowess as they get older, especially if said transformation is used to help out in a certain situation. Witches are a group of magi who use religion, the elements, and other aspects of the natural world to fuel their magic; depending on what teachings they decide to follow, witches can follow different paths in life to help out in their societies. Wizards are a group of magi who similar to witches (hence why they attend the same school), but they are known for combining both ancient forms of magic and science to perform spells, as well as using external magical conductors such as staffs or tattoos.

-Knights is the term to describe humans who possess some level of magic in order to wield magical weapons and possess some level of superhuman abilities (namely speed, strength, and agility), but do not possess the abilities to transform or perform spells; whether the knight is a male or female, they are all taught in hand-to-hand combat and weaponry. Knights are given magical stones to 'transform' into their armor and allow their natural abilities to become heightened. Either during their education or afterwards, a knight can choose one of three paths; Specialist (a male-dominated field where knights are trained in specific fields based on their strengths and use technology-based weaponry), Valkyries (a female-dominated field where knights are enlisted for political or wartime missions, with them using elemental-based weaponry; the more highly skilled Valkyries are chosen for espionage missions, with them using easily-concealed weaponry), or Paladin (a highly exclusive and deeply religious field, where one is trained to either become a member of the Fortress of Light or a guardian of the Omega Portals, with them using more ancient weaponry and being taught more in how to use magic)

-Alfea is a school for fairies, Cloud Tower is a school for witches & wizards, and Red Fountain is a school for the Knights.

-There are people who have magic but do not fit neatly in the traditional groups. This includes Fanus (people with the ability to transform into the native animals of their home), Magical Beings (such as elves, mermaids, leprechauns, pixies, ogres, orcs, etc.), Monsters (which include dragons, harpies, vampires, were-creatures dryads, etc.), and Casters (those possessing strong supernatural abilities, usually having super-specific abilities or roles)

-Morphix is an unnatural magical source, created by the Pixies to protect their village. Helia is the one to control this substance, being the grandchild of Saladin and having higher magical capabilities than most Specialists

-The Nymphs of Magix do not exist, but instead, the Company of Light takes their place as the ancient society who oversaw the Magical Dimension after the Great Dragon's disappearance. Both Marion and Oritel were a part of this group (along with Faragonda, Saladin, Griffin, etc.), and Daphne would have joined their ranks if Domino had not been destroyed.

-The concept of Nymphs does exist, but it is seen as the final transformation for a fairy, with the only equivalent being death. When a fairy is so devoted to their magic, their spirit will separate from their physical form and become one with the magic which flows through their veins, thus becoming an ethereal guardian of their kingdom. The only known example is Acarida.

-The Dragon Flame chooses its wielder, instead of it being passed down through one bloodline. When a new wielder is born, the current keeper of the Dragon Flame shall seek them out and help them get their powers under control, with the new wielder being gifted the full Dragon Flame upon their 16th birthday. Bloom is the exception to these two rules, as she is the first wielder to have been born the existing one (Marion was mentored by Maya after receiving the Dragon Flame) and she was given its power upon her mother's death, with Daphne using a spell to hide her magic when she sent Bloom to Earth.

Ok, I definitely have some ideas, but not all of them completely fleshed out:

First you have your royals:

Stella: Her title becomes High Queen Stella Hyperiona Selene Aelius of House Solaria, Solaria’s Guardian Fairy of Light. Her role is obviously to rule the Solarian System. Once she becomes Queen she gives up her title as the High Fairy of the Solarian System as she can't hold both titles consecutively

Sky: Holds the title of High King Schuyler Julien Frederic Bougaimoux VI of the Eraklyon System. Her also hold other military titles, but steps away from the more military based day to day work once he takes the throne.

Aisha: Her formal title becomes Reigning Monarch Aisha Anahita Ara Bilal of House Andros. She still does some Guardian Fairy work, but she cannot take the position on full time.

Then your consorts:

Bloom: While Bloom is technically Sky's consort, due to her standing in the Magic Dimension she takes the title High Queen Bloom Cyra Eithne Kenna Bizeveron of the Eraklyon System. When she marries Sky she also must return the Dragon Fire to the Heart of Domino through the Passing of the Flame Ceremony, which reduces the Bloom to her original abilities. This for Bloom is a struggle, but she does become a Guardian Fairy of Eraklyon and an ambassador for many magical councils on Magix. She also does some occasional teaching at Alfea and has even been considered for Nympdom.

Brandon: Brandon does become Stella's consort, but his main title is in Commander and Chief of the Solarian Army. He often deals with military issues and security issues within both the Solarian System and Magix.

Your Specialists:

Riven: Riven, when leaving Red Fountain, had no idea what he wanted to do. He did some security work on Magix for a bit, but it wasn't until Stella offered him a role on her security council as a private contractor, did he love his job. Riven ends up working this role for several years, and then does other security work while still assisting Stella and her team.

Timmy: Remains on Magix and while he does some specialist work, such as high-profile piloting and weapon work, he does mainly do integrated magical core science work and study. He also in his very little spare time does some teaching, both at Red Fountain and Magix's Collage of Applied Sciences.

Helia: Helia returns to the Liphean System to fulfil his role as Duke. However, he is in the public eye for peace and reconciliation talks, often advocating for peaceful negotiations or solutions to conflict. This often takes him to war zones or small skirmishes in which he is a mediator for these issues.

Then the rest of the Winx:

Musa: She still does enter the music industry and spends most of her free time at recording studios both producing her own songs and others. However, she does remain a Guardian Fairy of Melody.

Tecna: she does become a Guardian Fairy of one of the four planet s in the Zenith System. She tries to change the system from the inside and make life better for magical beings on Zenith. However, some time with no results, she leaves and joins Timmy doing magical integrated technology work and magical core study.

Flora: Flora becomes a Guardian Fairy of the Linphean System and she loves her work helping people with big and small problems. She also does peace talk works, but mainly between bridging the social gap between fairies and witches.

Employee Dexy - Resume.

Diego Andros, what a specimen.

To clarify things as he is the first, Diego is one of my "full-time" employees, meaning that he gets to be far less picky with the jobs he picks up in order to pay me back. Unlike a majority of the employees under my payroll however his position came upon him from his interesting spending habits.

Diego happens to be quite the brilliant Crypto-zoologist. studying unique and interesting pokemon. Along with that he has a masters in biological sciences.

I had no clue why he came to me initially but upon further investigating it seemed he had been developing a unique method of gene-editing involving Ditto DNA as a catalyst.

I have reasonable suspicions that he used his method on himself. Nevertheless it's made him a wonderful asset to me, providing me with a couple of monsters should I ever need them. He is an excellent hunter and fighter though his long term memory seems to be decreasing as he further experiments on himself.

He should expect to have his debt paid off in the next 3 years.

If science is to be believed in, our bodies are mostly made from water.

Maybe that was the reason why Vessel had been like a perfect flood, engulfing her again and again and again and again ever since she had first laid eyes on him.

To paint him, Cass only needed three colors: black, red and white.

Black for his body. White for his mask. Red for his sigil.

Different tones came into play, then, depending on whether she was painting him in the sun, on one of the few occasions they met in daylight – something that still felt almost illegal, mysterious as he was – or in the night time, which was their preferred hours to see each other. Like vampires, but instead of needing blood, craving each other’s company, with an animalistic desire that couldn’t differ that much from a drug addiction.

Cass didn’t have one of those fancy watches Andro used for the gym and that checked how many times your heart was beating per minute, or how much oxygen was in your body, or whatever things indicated your workout had been a really good one. But she was sure that had one adorned her wrist when she had seen Vessel for the first time, she would have received a worried message from the little machine.

Are you dead? A sad face, made of pixels. Your heart stopped beating and there has been no oxygen intake for the last few seconds.

And there was only one person to blame.

A person who had attracted her attention, piqued her interest. One who she had walked towards as if pulled by an invisible string.

She had introduced herself as Cassiopeia, because it felt more magical, because that man deserved someone from legend; the reincarnation of a woman who had defied the Gods with such vehemence she had been immortalized in the sky. And instantly said no, call me Cass.

She wasn’t Cassiopeia. She was Cass. She was definitely the type of woman who would go against a deity to see her wishes fulfilled, but she wouldn’t claim to be her namesake. She was a twenty-six year old, Spanish woman, who had lived in Japan her entire life, who loved art and her siblings and… she wanted to give Vessel exactly that.

He could take it, or not. But that’s what she could give. Her offering.

Cass had realized, ever since her hand had closed around his and she had taken him to her room to show him her work after learning he was also an artist, a like-minded spirit, that her arms belonged around him.

Home is where the heart is, they said. And Vessel held her bloody heart with his long fingers.

Therefore, it had felt natural when their lips had met for the first time. And had kept meeting, time and time again, clothes forgotten and hands and tongues and teeth following one secret mandate; to devour the other person, however way they could.

Winx Club Next-Gen AU: Roxy's Kids

Roxy and the next characters were ones I still wanted to include in this AU, but I was having trouble finding good ships for them with characters I haven't already put into a ship. That is till one day she stumbled across a couple of goth videos and fashion online, and almost instantly became enamored with goth culture. After getting a chance to explore her own style and identity, she has grown into a perky, bubbly, and friendly young lady, despite her gloomy appearance and dark interests. After she became a witch, she wanted to explore the world not only to look for ingredients for her potions and charms, but also to find beauty in the darker elements that most people would normally shun or shy away from. She has developed a small crush on fellow classmate Princess Coral of Andros, as her more chill and energetic nature sets a flutter in her heart the more they work on assignments together.

Had more-or-less the same kind of peaceful childhood in Gardenia like her older sister, but unlike her she always felt relatively comfortable with her place in the world. She is considerably more down-to-earth and practical than Grace, having a more 'plain' style and calmer interests, but she has the same taste of adventure like her as she loves learning more about the world. Despite coming across quite sensible and unassuming, she is actually a huge science fiction fan deep down, having attended quite a few fandom conventions and even named her black labrador puppy Anakin. She has only recently discovered her witch abilities, but is choosing to wait a couple of years before attending Cloud Tower so she can continue to build up her magical abilities.
