A: Not for me, but for other writers, maybe.

A: I don’t know why marriage has to be boring. I don’t get it. It’s the same relationship it was before. Why would that change it? […] I’m not saying that Rogue and Gambit didn’t grow into more interesting and complex versions of their brash, younger, slightly more villainous selves. Like, they’re very true heroes to me, both of them.

But they have interesting angles all over them. And they’re super hot. Why would anyone try to shave off those angles, or make them not hot, because they’re married now? […] Now they’re married, and so we think they have to have these kinds of fights. […] But our characters are superheroes! Their lives are already filled with action! They’re already filled with drama, they’re already filled with high stakes.

We don’t have to make the marriage boring. It can just be part of who they are.

@queenmeraairam hey love, bringing this into a post because the replies have a word limitation (and I can't write in short sentences to save a life 🙃 ) Gosh, that entire scene is filled with so many lovely details. I know what you are referring to. Happy to provide! 

On his part I wouldn’t call it hesitation, instead I think he is giving her room to act first. Like many of their interactions he lets her initiate and he lets her control the pace of their relationship. There have been few moments where he tried to lead - and when that happened she got cold feet every time. (In TAS for example during their first private conversation he tried to remove her glove and she backed away. In the comics he got on his knees in front of her and the commitment instantly activated her flight instinct). He’s always letting her lead when it comes to intimacy. When she reached out to him for the first time at the end of E.2 he didn’t grab or pull her; he just held her. In E7 she was the one offering him the dance, she was the one that grabbed his hand and led him into a more intimate conversation between their bodies. If he'd ever initiate a kiss he’d probably ask for permission first. He knows how important touch is for her and he values her comfort. (I could write pages about moments like between them but no one needs to endure my babbling). What I mean to say is - he treats her right and they can achieve greatness together, dammit!
