Happy May Day!
So… I’m thinking of changing the title of my hypothetical Pokémon game to one of these. I really like how the designs turned out but I can’t choose between them.
I wanted it to have a red and white theme, referencing my Legendaries, but since there are already a Pokémon Red and White, I had to get creative.
The first (on the left) has a gemstone theme similar to Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl.
I tried to match the color scheme of the stones themselves, as in white opals and carnelians.
The second (on the right) has a flower theme, which I don’t think has been done before.
The rose is supposed to look like a Tudor rose, referencing the War of the Roses which I loosely based my Legendaries on. Apparently it’s also called an Osiria rose.
I realize the Lily only has four petals, which does happen in nature, if unusual. There is such a thing as an Aztec or Jacobean Lily with four petals, which represent the four directions of North, South, East and West.

In general
Beautiful, black-eyed Nyx, cloaked in darkness, older than old, daughter of misty Chaos, mother of great and mighty spirits, I call to you. Ever-present one, you live in the shadows; we know you in the dusk, in the comfort of the night. Broad-winged Nyx, you clasp the hand of bright Hemera, each eve and morn, you greet her with love and sorrow for only in those moments may you embrace your child. Goddess, awesome one, in your realm are we all unblemished, in your realm do lovers’ promises ring true, in your realm are all things possible, if only until daybreak. Nyx, I honor you.
Small prayer
“Nyx, mother of the night, mother of sleep, mother of death: Might your darkness embrace me Might your energy caress me Might you be mine and Might I be yours Blessed be.“
In general
O ancient Goddess, born of Chaos and steeped in shadow, I honor you now and always. With eyes which have watched the beginnings of all that is, see us now embracing your sleep and mystery. With power that strikes fear into the hearts of the most revered of Gods,
I remember your strength when I am searching for my own. In the starless night where light shines not i will give my thanks to your Greatness, And surrender to the dark.

Gays, gals and non-binary pals, the time has come, presenting:
°◇The Umgadi Girls!◇°
The Umgadi leader, Li Mei, was given the task of turning these four young women into true Umgadi warriors and, in the process, help them achieve their own personal goals!
Now let me ramble a bit (a lot) about their designs!
Li Mei wears a typical Umgadi outfit, the only thing is that I gave her her classic bandana but now adorned with silver to resemble other Umgadi hairpieces!
For the rest of the girls, I gave them the same outfit as Khameleon as I believe this outfit is for those on a lower rank.
🗡 For Suchin, I gave her bangs cause I think they give her a meaner look. The tattoos all over her are lilies, a common symbol of redemption and a nod to her family's history!
She seeks to learn more about her family's roots in Outworld (Seido) and gather more skills to become a better vigilante for Thailand!
🌺 For Harumi, I gave her a messy pixie cut cause I thought it would reflect well her "too much energy" personality! She also has a lot of flower tattoos all over her, to represent important people in her life, she has one for her parents, for her grandparents, for Cetrion and Kuai too! And of course, they are a nod to her clan!
She seeks to fulfil the Shirai tradition of becoming an Umgadi and earn her place as next Grandmistress of the Order of Cetrion!
Now, I find it interesting how much sun Tanya has on her design, from her Union of Light Skin to her powers, and even her golden colour palette adds to it!
And it had me thinking, Tanya is the best example of an Umgadi we have, so her design speaks not only about her, but also about the Umgadi as a whole.
So what if Delia is a Sun Goddess?
She's already "The Lady of Flame" it wouldn't be too wild if she became the Goddess of Flame, and what bigger flame we have than the sun?
@rasta-bot once said she could be a blacksmith Goddess that creates holy weapons, now imagine if she uses the sun as a forge!
Now you must be wondering why doesn't Li Mei have any sun motif on her? Or why Jade doesn't have a face paint?
🔆 My idea is that Tanya is not from Sun Do, but from another city in Edenia, and was raised by a different group of Umgadi with their own worshiping rituals (which include the face paint).
She was sent to Sun Do after proving herself to be the best of her group, now if she succeeds here, she gets the to perform her duties in Sun Do, closer to the Matrons Superior, serving the royal family itself and more importantly, being among the best of the best!
She seeks to become the best Umgadi warrior to ever exist and be remembered as such!
🍃Now, Jade is not from Sun Do either, she's a countess and her family is ally of the Osh-Tekk people and (thanks to her absent parents) she spent most of her life among the Osh-Tekk.
they also worship the Sun Goddess (though they call her by other name) and it was through them that Jade started to learn more about Delia and ended noticing some sort of mysterious connection with the Goddess, and thus came the wish to become an Umgadi. She decided to train in Sun Do to be closer to the Matrons Superior and find some answers.
She seeks to learn what is exactly her connection with Delia!
For her design, she has the sun tattoo (given by the Osh-Tekk) and her jewelleries are supposed to resemble Aztec (therefore Osh-Tekk) jewellery!
They are all gifts from Kotal, they are old friends and he likes to gift her stuff. Though it would be convenient for both their parents for them to marry, they never liked each other that way (plus, Jade is pretty sure he has a thing going on with that to-be Kytinn leader from the Arnyek island, she doesn't like D'Vorah one bit, but trusts her friends judgement...)
Oh yeah, and the Edenians have pointy ears too because I said so :P
Aaaaaaaaand that's it for now, folks!! :D
Questions and suggestions are very welcomed, I really want to make this AU grow!
An special thanks to all my girlies for being always so supportive to my ideas!💕 @mikka-minns @thedragonholder @madamealtruist @orbitinytheworld @rasta-bot @meme099 @moody-bloos

Oh my god you are SO REAL for your hc that Burning Spice is hispanic
Like
Shadow Milk - French
Mystic Flour - Chinese
Silent Salt and Eternal Sugar...no idea for those two
I'm gonna use this as an excuse to say what my ethnicity hcs are for all of the virtues as well as the ethnicity of their kingdoms + some reasons why
Pure Vanilla - Greek
Hollyberry - French/Indian (rich food and wine like the french, but a hot, tropical climate with tigers like india.)
Dark Cacao - Korean
Golden Cheese - Egyptian
White Lily - Finnish (Has mythology with paganism, elves, etc)
Shadow Milk - Italian (Carnevale has lots of masks that remind me of him. Most of opera and grand orchestras are Italian also)
Mystic Flour - Chinese (Mandarin specifically, because the Silk Road first brought Buddhism to the north of China, where they speak mostly Mandarin.)
Eternal Sugar - I'm also unsure? possibly Italy as well because of the large Christian significance there.
Burning Spice - Mexican (Aztecs were in what is now Mexico.)
Silent Salt - Unsure as well. I think maybe French, seeing as that is where the concept of chivalry and Knighthood originated.
#on todays episode of no one fucking cares isssssssss#i actually had fun finally putting these headcannons down lol#pure vanilla cookie#hollyberry cookie#dark cacao cookie#golden cheese cookie#white lily cookie#shadow milk cookie#mystic flour cookie#fuck it im not tagging all the beasts

I was reading through the ask you got about fantasy writing, and it got me wondering. What would you want to see in the way of indiginous representation from a non-indiginous writer?
I think being subtle about it is great, like they can just be a person? I feel like people too quickly make native characters mystical and magical some how. You don’t even need to bring up spirituality or ceremonies it’s weird. There’s still glaring issues with some of these characters/movies like it’s not enough to exactly destroy the experience for me but it’s like did they really need to add that? Or it’s a cultural issue that wouldn’t necessarily happen in real life like in prey Naru gets her shit beat in by like her cousins and brothers like that would not happen, those boys would be punished or wouldn’t realistically beat her up in the first place. I love brother bear but they completely erase a full movie experience with indigenous characters by making them animals. Then spirit makes General Custer a character and then somehow makes him sympathetic? I love Olrox and I don’t mind Aztec characters and he makes sense but I think people really need to actually research Mexican tribes there’s so many, so much potential. And the new Peter Pan tiger lily is amazing you don’t know how worried I was that about them missing her up.

Ehecatl : God of Winds
Ehecatl: Ignite your Passion
Ehecatl-Quetzalcoal (Ehecat) is the Aztec God of invisibility and intangibility who oversees the mysteries of passion and love.
In order to fully understand adult love one must experience loss in a personal manner. This takes place at all levels in our life. Last week the day Winds of Spirit arrived by UPS, I experienced a few losses as well: the front gates which house my former Healing Arts Center were stolen; my boss who provided the space to write the book took a new job at another company; and a tenant is leaving. Winds seek balance, and intensity will always swing towards disappointment or lethargy, then back again.
Seeds of passion sometimes grow in the ashes of disappointment, and later blossom into fragrant spring lilies. Like the wind, love, passion and relationships are also mysterious forces.
Aztec cosmology is built on the framework that there are five suns. Each sun represents a creation story in which humans are born, sustained and destroyed by the elements of nature; earth, wind, fire, water, and earthquake respectively. Ehecatl is one of the many faces of the Quetzalcoatl, the famed feathered serpent deity. In Nahuatl, Ehecatl means four winds, referring to the four cardinal directions.
Ehecatl presided over the second sun of creation that was called, “4 Wind.” During this period, human beings fell from the grace of the Gods and were destroyed by a hurricane. As Ehecatl blew, it swept away the debris, and those who survived were transformed into monkeys. Ehecatl reappeared in the Fifth Sun after the world was destroyed by fire.
Ehecatl traveled deep into the underworld and persuaded Mictlantecuhtili, the God of Death, to give back some ashes and bone. Ehectal mixed the bone with blood from the Gods and created humanity.
According to Aztec legend, Ehecatl snuck into the lower world, abducted the maiden Mayahuel, and brought her to the middle world. Their passion was so great that they became one and merged into a tree. Upon awaking from sleep Tzetzimutl journeyed to the middle world, pulled the lovers apart, shredded her grand daughter Mayahuel into pulp, and then returned Ehecatl to his rightful place in the wind.
”Whenever the wind blows, the Aztec believes it is an expression of Ehecatl’s desire.”
If Ehecatl appears as a longing East wind, it is time to listen closely to your heart.
East
If Ehecatl appears as a longing East wind, it is time to listen closely to your heart. New projects, new lovers, art and/or music will ignite your passion.
As a contrary wind, Ehecatl can remove worn-out love stories and soured memories that are preventing you from experiencing a new cosmic order in your life. It is time to examine your beliefs regarding love.
South
Ehecatl is fanning the flames of your innermost feelings and hidden desires. A willingness to love again will arise from the ashes. You are worthy of love and passion. Allow the mysterious thread of the universe to carry you into the next cycle.
Unlike Ehecatl, who was molded from a stone knife, you are an emotional being who thrives on love. In the contrary position, a howling Ehecatl is prompting you to open your heart to love. There is a wind-stirring deep within asking you to soften your heart in order to forgive those who have harmed you. Now is the time to heal the emotional scars left behind by abuse, loss, or abandonment.
West
Ehecatl brings the rains to nourish your crops, signaling the end of the dry season. Wash away your inhibitions, and rejuvenate your body with physical activity. Celebrate by dancing, hiking, gardening, swimming or sex.
When Ehecatl appears in the reverse position you are being offered forbidden fruit, so be alert and cautious. The sun may set on your goals if you merge with the wrong energies, as in the tale of Ehectal and Mayahuel.
Misguided passion and intrigue might pull you from your true path if you do not establish clear boundaries. Ask Ehecatl to help you to sweep away any blocks that stand between you and a bountiful harvest.
North
When Ehecatl blows in from the North, it is a sign that invisible forces are at work in your life. A soul mate isn’t necessarily your lover; it might be someone who has your back, no matter what troubles you may be facing. Enrich your life by connecting deeply with the people you love, and with those who have your best interests at heart.
In the contrary position Ehecatl points out that you are neglecting certain daily rituals which prevent you from keeping your spiritual life in order. Ask Ehecatl to help you understand the deeper aspects of your true self. It might be something as simple as rearranging your altar, planning a vacation or going on a spiritual retreat. Ehecatl : God of Winds ART: Corazon Mexica @MiCorazonMexica
The creation of bats. This is a new painting, which is part of a cycle of paintings that tell the story of the birth of flowers. It begins with Quetzalcoatl, who is the wind and creation, pleasuring himself on the banks of a river. His seed falls upon a stone, and from the stone is born the first bat. When the bat emerges from the stone, he asks it to go to Tamoanchan, the 12th heaven, and bring him back the “flower” of Xochiquetzal, who is love and flowers. The bat is thus the child of the wind and of the earth, and the story goes on to describe this theft, and describe the origin of flowers and menstruation.

Avocado orchards had carpeted the gently undulating hills around the sacred lake of Pátzcuaro with stodgy green bushes. Here, before the cataclysmic arrival of the first envoys dispatched by Hernando Cortes from the Aztec capital over the mountains to the East, [...] the Purépecha had sown maize, amaranth, zucchini, cacao, cotton, tomato, beans, a dozen types of chili, and much more.
Now the monotonous “green gold” of the avocado boom had colonized the entire Mexican state of Michoacán. [...] [I]t was shocking to think that the cause of the disaster was America’s great patriotic party: the National Football League’s Super Bowl. A flurry of advertising creativity on behalf of the Mexican avocado was unleashed every year during the multi-million-dollar sports broadcast. [...] “Is your life just terrible?” asks the comic actor Chris Elliott, star of Scary Movie 2 and Scary Movie 4, in the 2019 spot. “You deserve more! Spread an avocado on top of everything!” [...] A few days before the Super Bowl, the domestic diva Martha Stewart [...] had released on social networks her latest recipe for guacamole [...]. Guacamole was now an obligatory snack for the 100 million or so Americans who watched the Super Bowl. In February of 2017, 278 million avocados -- most of them from Michoacán -- had been sold during the days before the game in [the US] [...].
---
The avocado had become the star product of Mexican food production in the age of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) [...] since NAFTA was signed in 1994 [...]. [Mexican] farmers produced 16 times more than the formerly dominant Californian growers. [...] Moreover, the avocado was now classified as a “superfood” [...].
It had not always been like this. In the 1950s, the avocado was known unsentimentally as the crocodile pear [...]. Imports from Mexico were banned until 1997 [...] . When complete liberalization was announced in 2007, Michoacán had become an unbeatable competitor for the Californian avocado growers. The Mexican producers specialized, like their Californian rivals, in the Hass variety of avocado, more meaty than those that the Purépecha had [...] consumed over the millennia, and with a tough skin that protected the pears during long hauls in chilled container trucks to El Paso or Tijuana and then beyond to the big US consumer markets. [...] [T]he Hass avocado was perfectly suited to the global market [...]. Michoacán, whose crystalline lakes had earned it the name of the “land of fish” in the indigenous language of Tarasco, would never be the same.
By 2020, 80 percent of the avocados consumed in the United States came from Michoacán [...].
---
Now in the 21st century, on the outskirts of Uruapan, the frenetic capital del aguacate, the new economy of agribusiness took shape [...]. Further west on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, the monoculture had not yet colonized the entire landscape, but the advance of the avocado seemed unstoppable. [...] “Practically everybody here wants an avocado orchard [...],” explained [FFB], a resident of the Purépecha indigenous community of Jarácuaro on the shores of the lake. [...] [H]e was horrified by the extent of environmental destruction. “They pump water from the lake to water the avocado orchards [...]. It’s pillage. [...]”
The falling water level, together with the introduction of the rapacious predator tilapia, had wiped out almost all the [...] [native] fish species. Of the cornucopia of marine life that had fed the Purépecha cities, only the diminutive silvery charal remained. The same occurred at other great freshwater deposits in Michoaczán. [...] The Purépecha communities on the shores of the lake, a landscape of stunning beauty where dense pine and ilex oak forests met white nymphaea lilies floating on turquoise water, were girding themselves for the arrival of the aguacateros, avocado producers [...].

“They put a gun to your head and tell you to sign the deed before the notary. That’s how the transfer of land is agreed upon,” explained [GV], a sociologist at the University of San Nicolas de Hidalgo in Morelia [...].
Meanwhile, large exporters and avocado brokers -- some of them international brands like Del Monte -- were profiting by purchasing from producers at dirt-cheap prices and reselling to the US supermarket chains at very attractive ones. “They pay a dollar per kilo of avocado here and sell it for eight at a Minnesota W*lmart,” said [GV].
In order not to squander such a reliable source of profits, “transnational corporations, just like the Canadian mining companies in Zacatecas, pay the extortion money [...],” he continued.

For work, when he and his dad would travel for the Green Book. This is different. After a tragedy in Chicago forces the family to flee, they resettle in an idyllic all-white suburban town in search of a better life. Calvin’s father wants everyone to embrace their new white lifestyles, but it’s easier said than done. Hiding your true self is exhausting — which leads Calvin across town where he can make friends who know all of him…and spend more time with his new crush, Lily. But when Calvin starts unraveling dark secrets about the white town and its inhabitants, passing starts to feel even more suffocating–and dangerous–than he could have imagined. Xochiquetzal y el Colibrí,
Xochiquetzal and the Hummingbird, Mexica (Aztec) Spirituality, Love, Huitzilopochtli
Corazon Mexica @MiCorazonMexica
In this painting, Xochiquetzal, She Who Is Love and Beauty, takes the form of a red calla lily, native to Mesoamerica, which is a symbol of eroticism. The hummingbird that sucks the flower's nectar represents a warrior, whose deified heart is rewarded for his bravery.
The spirits of women who died in childbirth and men who died in battle turn into precious hummingbirds and butterflies, and accompany the Sun in His daily journey through the sky. They live in Tonatiuh Ichan, a place of clarity, abundance and delight. The flower of Xochiquetzal embodies pleasure and joy, but also symbolizes the bounty of bravery and sacrifice.

OC-tober 14: “V” and Yuri “Lily” (2 OCs in a style swap)
I didn’t feel like coloring them completely so I just slapped on their signature colors, this isn’t how their clothes would actually look. Plus I should probably research the time periods more before I settle on stuff. Either way, they’d mostly wear modern clothes but sometimes they’d be dressed from the time period they came from.
V is a priestess in training from the Aztec Empire and Lily is an onmyoji from Heian Japan. And due to getting-trapped-in-a-Crystal shenanigans they’re now in a magical girl team in modern day America
