If you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from BNHA? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....

My faves, I've been asked a few times so I'll be light on explanation, but, honestly, I'm liable to switch up depending on whatever I just read or watched.

Katsuki Bakugo - I just expanded on this but I just generally think more people could give more grace to the traumatized little demon child who has, for reasons against his will, largely been put through trials not only as Midoriya's rival but also as a potential love interest (re: damsel in distress trope)

Izuku Midoriya - I kinda touched on what makes Midoriya interesting but realize it's kinda in the context of the chemical reaction between he and Bakugo. Simply, I like Midoriya for a few reasons that I may not have previously intimated. Those being he is a certified chaos gremlin which is sometimes lost on us as the reader/viewer because he's our narrator (Bakugo only seems insolent. He'll say "don't tell me what to do", but do exactly as you've asked. Midoriya will smile in your face after being told what not to do and adapt the most pants shitting plan to break his bones and risk fatal injury known to man right after.), he's such a fucking nerd, also, kin.

Shouta Aizawa - I love a good traumatized character. But his characterization is so stern, rough around the edges and nonchalant (I usually like trauma with a side of silly goofy✨). It truly belies the fact that he's just a big ole softie who understands the nuance of his students in such an endearing way. Like, I just love him.

Shoto Todoroki - Character wise, Shoto is really entertaining because, while he is a nepo baby, he is skilled to back up why he should be in class 1A. He is not dumb but he is simple. I appreciate that he is regularly unexpected comedic relief and it definitely comes at the price of something neurospicy. Additionally, he and his family situation are just as integral to the story as Midoriya and Bakugo's evolving relationship and power dynamic and it adds texture to him as a tritagonist.

Eijirou Kirishima - My fifth is an oscillating fan available for whoever last occupied my mind but this comes from a recent ask where someone mentioned being a kiribaku because same. Kirishima is the first to earn Bakugo's respect because of his earnest and unrelenting attempts to befriend him. He and Denki are good indicators that Bakugo is, perhaps, not as enigmatic as the narration leads us to believe. His veneer of manly bravado barely covering his insecurities and lack of confidence? The fact that he thought the best way to be a new person was to dye his hair?? KIN. He is precious to me.

Feral Deku Being Found By Kacchan - Just, the whole arc of being found by Class 1A, beaten down by them, apology in the rain, and being advocated for by Class 1A against an angry mob? The whole thing was goosebumps inducing, just the way they've all grown.

Discovering the Sir Nighteye's Prediction Saw Deku Dying in Action - Toga is a disruptor but also, perhaps, so are all those OFA quirks. Even so, Sir Nighteye not only resigned to his own death but also Deku's which is so wild of him when he so earnestly wanted to discourage All Might from the path to destruction he saw ahead of him. He really had beef with a kid. BUT ALSO Sir Nighteye coming back to be like "All Might... this isn't a comic book, you don't have to die here,". OMG the boomerang arcs all of these characters get is just so heartwarming/wrenching depending on who it is.

Bakugo, With No Other Choice, Facing Off Against Shigaraki - We got so much from that, including, confirming that he cared about that whole host of extras so much that he would think to pass along their care to someone else. That was just so beautiful for his development but also real tears. I remember I was in the midst of reading the manga for the first time and saw a hint of a leak and I read like 150 chapters in a matter of days to get caught up.

Heroes Rising - Literally, that whole movie. GOOSEBUMPS.

Bakugo vs Uraraka at the Sports Festival - This fight was so brilliant for so many reasons.

1. Uraraka gave Bakugo a legitimate run for his money all on her own 2. It demonstrates sexism in universe based on audience perception of the fight as well as how much public opinion bears on the split between a hero and a villain 3. Aizawa gave an unbiased interpretation of the fight and continues to defend Bakugo's character later in the story when people bring up his "villainous" behavior at the Sport's Festival 4. Bakugo is shown to be really noble where other boys from Class 1A seem to think they need to go easy on girls (who end up handing them their ass later) during the Sports Festival but also during the Class 1A vs Class 1B joint exercise 5. It spurred Uraraka to push beyond the confines of her quirk and seek tutelage under Gunhead which is like.. so huge in terms of her development but also pushes her outside of a perception of helplessness that would typically befall a main female lead in a shonen series.

to be honest, i don't actually ship myself with (most of) my faves! i think it's because i just really don't think i'd work out with them 😭 when i read/write stuff on them, i often envision a reader that i think would complement them a lot more/fulfill their needs at that moment (and that couldn't be me 😭 tho i wish it could be!)

that being said, i will try to answer your question as best as i can under this cut bc i'm pretty sure it'll be a lot 😭 i love too many of them!!

iwaizumi hajime (hq): iwa is my fave hq char and is one of my top 3 fave boys :') probs the only one out of my faves that i can somewhat see myself with!! i like how dependable and no-fuss he is + just seems like an overall good guy!! (he and my bf also share so many similar features and they both love fitness and sports 😭)

kirishima eijirou (bnha): i have the biggest soft spot for kiri bc he's such a sweetheart!! he's my ideal boyfriend for real 😭 i think i need someone affectionate bc i'm not and he seems like he would be!! in every way possible 🥺

itadori yuuji (jjk): i feel like yuuji is just the jjk ver of kiri HJAFBha but also i'm very much into a best friends -> lovers typa beat and i feel like he fits it perfectly!! his personality seems like one i'd perfectly jive with (as a friend and eventually something more!) 😳

i'll be real here and say that i think i see myself w these boys bc my bf is literally a combination of all of them 😭 he has the personality of kiri and yuuji inside an iwa body 😭

bakugo katsuki (bnha): i’d never ever get used to his tone 😭 like if he spoke to me the same way he spoke to everyone i think i'd fight him shdfasdf (another enemies to lovers 😭 maybe even exes to lovers too but he rlly has to change smth for it to work 😭) but!! i love him for, also, all his complexity! and where his heart is at too! it's really the ones with the conviction to do good and be good but do them in questionable ways...

tenya felt the flimsy aluminum can of orange juice he was holding slowly begin to crumple up, collapsing at the force of his death grip. he hadn't even realized he was holding it that tightly- more fixated on you.

there was nothing wrong with you, quite the contrary, in fact you were too perfect; too perfect to be laughing at denki’s low brow jokes, too perfect to be so close to him and much too perfect for him to just touch, like that.

his hand was sitting on you innocently enough, right at the top of your back. nobody would have assumed foul play at first glance, but the green eyed monster had already tinted iida’s usually clear vision, watching the two of you interact.

realistically there was no reason for tenya to be so upset, he didn't own you. he hadn't even worked up the courage to tell you he felt anything for you at all, but as he watched you from across the room, now talking to a few of the other boys, he felt his stomach twist.

“uhhh, iida are you ok? you seem… tense,” midoriya piped up, snapping him out of his thoughts. before tenya could life, izuku followed his line of sight and landed on you, now in a heated debate with kirishima about whether or not cereal counted as a soup.

“im fine, midoriya. nothing some training won't fix,” he sighed.

an almost pregnant silence passed between them before deku spoke up again, “you’ll never know unless you try. you should talk to them.”

“w-what? i have no idea what you’re-”

“that crushed can in your hand says otherwise, dude,” sero chimed in, clapping his hand on iida’s shoulder as he moved past, joining the conversation and plopping next to you on the couch.

“am i really that transparent, midoriya?”

“if i say yes will you go talk to them, instead of stewing over here in the corner and crushing soda cans?”

iida sighed, setting the can down on a nearby counter. deku was right, he did have to talk to you at some point instead of expecting you to read his mind.

suddenly he heard his name being called from your direction.

“iida! you’re smart, come help us settle this!” shouted sero, giving him a wink and waving him over.

silently, he thanked sero with a nod and made his way over to the group, nerves bubbling in his chest . now was as good enough time as any.

I have to say that I wouldn't hate Bakugou so much if his stan wouldn't be so fucking annoying. Like I hate how many of them say but you just watch the anime you don't read the manga or Bakugou was just a child and he's a bully not an abuser.

I'm like "guys I read the manga" I have to say that Bakugou being a kid and hitting kidMidoriya looked more soft in the anime that in the manga. Indeed many Bakugou's scenes look more soft in the anime that in the manga. Besides, even if Bakugou character wasn't a dick for like 300 chapter I still can dislike/hate him. He doesn't get hurt because I don't think that he's a god or because I make post with the anti bakugou tag. So, why his stan gets so mad about a random person on internet saying that Bakugou is a bad character. I like Izuku Midoriya and he gets more hate than Bakugou and I don't go on my way to attack people.

Also they love saying but he's the most popular character like good for you and for him but know telling me if you take Bakugou out of the manga what changes? The answer is nothing mostly all the plot would be the same because Bakugou is popular but not really relevant.

The thing is. People watch the anime and read the manga. Another thing is that the main leaker needs to write a message if or if not Bakugou appears in the chapter. So some of those may not read chapters that do not involve him. Which makes the understanding of the story worse. Others have also noticed that the Anime changes things up or makes them appear more soft than they were in the manga. Or changing up the shedule of an arc. I prefer to hold the manga as source of info over the Anime. You are okay to dislike a character. You are okay to only tolerate a character. No one likes every character. You can not make a character that is well liked by everyone. Nor can you make a story that everyone will actually enjoy. So you always will have people that may not like the character for one reason or another. It is fine to critique a character. And it is fine to like a character that has flaws. That is an imperfect character. It does not necessairly make you a bad person. But it seems that those Stans have a certain idea of “Purity” and “perfection” that liking a character that is not perfect in their mind will make them a bad person. Or that they are simply blinded with their fave and can’t comprehend that someone might dislike their “perfect UWU little baby gremlin”. Speaking of popularity. A bit ago the character Yo Shindo who last appeared before that in the license exam arc got in the top 10 of the popularity vote. The characters hobby as far as known is trolling. So what we have here is a bunch of trolls working together to lobby a character that has not appeared in quite a bit into the top 10. A bit later Yo Shindo actually got an appearance in the manga. So it seems the writers listen to the poll. A poll that as we can see with that can be rigged. So I would not hold that poll representative. Someone else can be rescued from the sludge villain by Midoriya. Todoroki could have been kidnapped as he showed disdain for Endeavor and there is the Dabi connection.  IIda could have jumped into Shigarakis attack. You can trade Bakugou out with other characters and it would not be that hard. Bakugou offers a rivalry he tries to push on the MC but other characters can take that role too. He does not even have a villain foil.

my fave chars of all time are Zuko and Toph! Their development is so good. Also my fave ATLA character is Ty Lee lol. I relate to her. In other less serialized cartoons, I love Frankie from Foster's. She's just a mood and a half. Also live action- basically the kids + Steve from Stranger Things in more mainstream sorts of shows lol. And in video games- Veran from LOZ, as well as BOTW Link.

buuut lee wise? Characters with this archetype (Aang (ATLA), Izuku Midoriya (BNHA), Naruto (um. Naruto).) Like it's highly specific but so CUTE fr omg.

No... BIG FAT ASS NO!!

First of all, not pitting my boys against each other. Nope, not today, not this year. Not any year at any time. There are my faves and I refuse to see either of them be slandered. Especially, against each other.

Second, to even imply that Izuku didn't work hard just lets me know that this person isn't watching the same anime or reading the same manga. Izuku Midoriya? Him? Not hard working? Are we sure? Because one of the first things we seen this kid do to start hero training WAS CLEAN A BEACH!! FOR MONTHS!! HELLO?! HE DIDN'T DO THAT FOR FUN!!

And even after that, he continued to push through his hardships to master OFA and he couldn't even do that completely because of the current arc!!

And no one even come for Yuji like "Well, then he's naturally gifted".

Nope. That's not a gift. That is a damn curse.

Spoiler alert, but that kid's life was PLANNED for him. He was literally made to be a cage for the KING OF CURSES. His natural gift to be good at techniques is not a gift. It is a curse, I repeat. He never asked for it and he doesn't even take pleasure in it.

Also, throwing in the "Yuji watched movies for his training, he's lazy" is the weakest argument for me. [Said in the video]

People say that like he wasn't assigned by Gojo to do that, hello?? Yuji would have done any training, Gojo just suggested movies and that's what Yuji did. He also had to avoid being punched in the face by a Cursed doll while focused on movies. I don't know about y'all, but ever actually have to try to focus on a movie while multitasking?

Both Yuji and Izuku are excellent at what they do for different, but similar reasons. While Izuku wasn't born with the capabilities and Yuji was, neither of them can really say it's pure enjoyment for them or they didn't put in some work.

Izuku Inheriting OFA was a curse disguised as a blessing. Same said for Yuji have the physical prowess that he does.

The sun’s rays are what cause your eyes to open, your vision slowly adjusting to see around the room. You look towards the bedside table to see the digital clock just turn to 8:32 am. The body next to you shifts and an arm is thrown over your waist, pulling you closer to him. Izuku hums, the sound rumbling in his chest as he kisses your temple. You turn to face him with your noses touching. His eyes flutter open and he immediately smiles seeing your face so early in the morning when he has a day off. 

“Good morning, honey.”

Bakugou Katsuki

He forgot that you two planned a date that day and he didn’t show up after you waited in the lounge for over an hour.You weren’t really mad at him knowing that he was training hard, but you wanted to hear him say he was sorry as he never did it often.

“Y/N,” he says from behind you and you can hear the sigh of annoyance when you continue to walk forward. He clasps his hand around your wrist and turns you to look at him. Your eyes don’t meet his, mock anger dancing about them. He lets go of your wrist and holds your face in his hands. 

“Look, princess/prince, I’m sorry.”

Todoroki Shouto

he’s gentle with his words and you always melt when he whispers it in your ear

The wind blows past you making you shiver despite the many layers you had on. It was nearing winter but the snow just started coming along. Shouto is walking beside you and felt the shiver you gave off. 

“Are you cold, darling?”

His hand reaches into your pocket to engulf your own, leading you to his left side. He puts your intertwined hands in his own coat pocket. With his temperature regulation your body is suddenly overcome with a comfortable temperature radiating from him.

“Thanks, Sho.”

Shinsou Hitoshi

You were cramming late into the night and Hitoshi made himself comfortable in your bed hours earlier. He came over to your dorm with an intention to hang out, not watch you stress over the latest lesson in mathematics. 

“Y/N.” He calls your name for the hundreth time but you simply hum to let him know you were listening. He waits a few seconds before pushing himself off the bed and behind you. You didn’t notice him standing there before his arms wrap around your middle, his unruly indigo hair tickling your cheek as he buries his face into your neck. He lifts his head up so he lips graze your ear.

“You’ve been at this for hours. Come take a break, kitten.”

Kirishima Eijrou

Eijirou loves when you wait go up to him during lunch break. Seeing you in general just makes his day. You were feeling rather content and when he saw you he couldn’t stop himself. 

“How are you, beautiful/handsome?” He smiles widely, spiky teeth showing when your face turns red. He doesn’t even hear Bakugo trying not to gag behind him.

Kaminari Denki

The typical “make-out even if there’s a killer coming for us” scene comes up and Denki nudges your leg to get your attention.

“Wanna go recreate this scene later, hotstuff?” He wiggles his eyebrows and you can’t help but laugh as you push his shoulder.

Tokoyami Fumikage

He was leaning against his wall with you laying back against his chest between his legs. Fumikage turns the page of the book when he notices you were falling asleep, your head lolling to the side as you tried to keep your eyes open.

“Are you tired, my dear?” You hum softly before allowing the sleepiness to overcome you, laying comfortably on him. He closes the book and places it gently to the side. His hands find the blanket and he pulls it up to cover you both. He takes the book to finish where he left off, occasionally running his hands through your hair just the way you liked it.

Scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): FATGUM, TOKOYAMI, Tsuyu, WASH!!! Sero. Kinoko Kumori from 1-B. All of class 1-B’s manga tool characters (especially Vantablack/Kuroiro.) Gang Orca. Pretty much every furry or furry-like quirk mutant character in the series.
