It was heralded by Le Monde in 1976 as “the first masterpiece of the feminine in the history of cinema”. Nearly 50 years later, Chantal Akerman’s Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles has become the first feature by a female film-maker to be named the “greatest film of all time” by Sight and Sound, the magazine of the British Film Institute (BFI).
Akerman’s 70s classic, which follows the meticulous daily routine of a middle-aged widow over the course of three days – including having sex with male clients for her own and her son’s subsistence – topped the decennial poll this year for the magazine, pushing Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo to second place and Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane to third.
The Belgian film-maker was 25 when she shot the experimental, groundbreaking film starring Delphine Seyrig in the main role, and it has since become a cult classic – provoking years of analysis and debate.
“Jeanne Dielman challenged the status quo when it was released in 1975 and continues to do so today,” said Mike Williams, the editor of the Sight and Sound, which has conducted the poll every decade since 1952.
“It’s a landmark feminist film, and its position at the top of the list is emblematic of better representation in the top 100 for women film-makers.”
Dielman leapfrogged from 36th place in 2012. Williams said the film’s success was a reminder that there was “a world of underseen and underappreciated gems out there to be discovered”, and he emphasised the importance of repertory cinemas and home entertainment distributors in spotlighting undervalued films.
In fourth place this year came Yasujiro Ozu’s Tokyo Story, while three new films have made it into the top 10, including Wong Kar-Wai’s In the Mood for Love in fifth place (up from 24th in 2012), Claire Denis’s Beau Travail at No 7 (up from 78th in 2012) and David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive in eighth place (up from 28th).
The survey was its most ambitious to date this year, with more than 1,600 of the most influential international film critics, academics, distributors, writers, curators, archivists and programmers voting – almost double the number of participants in 2012. It is an eagerly anticipated moment within the global film community, representing a litmus test for where film culture stands.
In 2012, Vertigo took the No 1 spot from Citizen Kane, which had held it for 50 years. That year, Jeanne Dielman and Beau Travail were the only female film-makers’ films in the top 100. But this year’s poll features 11 films by female film-makers in the top 100, and four in the top 20.
Furthermore, in 2012 there was one film by a Black film-maker listed in the top 100 – Djibril Diop Mambéty’s Touki Bouki, at No 93. In 2022 there are seven titles in the top 100 by prominent Black film-makers. Touki Bouki has climbed to 67th place, with new entries including Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing in 24th place, Barry Jenkins’ Academy award-winning Moonlight in joint 60th place, and Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Ousmane Sembène’s Black Girl jointly at No 95.
Jason Wood, the BFI’s executive director of public programmes and audiences, said: “As well as being a compelling list, one of the most important elements is that it shakes a fist at the established order. Canons should be challenged and interrogated and as part of the BFI’s remit to not only revisit film history but to also reframe it, it’s so satisfying to see a list that feels quite radical in its sense of diversity and inclusion.”
Laura Mulvey, a professor of film studies at Birkbeck, University of London, said the success of Jeanne Dielman – a film that closely adhered to the female perspective –signalled a shift in critical taste. “One might say that it felt as though there was a before and an after Jeanne Dielman, just as there had been a before and after Citizen Kane.”
Meanwhile, in a separate directors’ poll, a record 480 film-makers from around the world, including Jenkins, Martin Scorsese, Sofia Coppola, Bong Joon-ho , Lynne Ramsay and Mike Leigh, voted Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey the greatest film of all time. Citizen Kane was at No 2, and Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather was placed at No 3.
Sight and Sound’s top 20 greatest films of all time
1. Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (Chantal Akerman, 1975) 2. Vertigo (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958) 3. Citizen Kane (Orson Welles, 1941) 4. Tokyo Story (Yasujiro Ozu, 1953) 5. In the Mood for Love (Wong Kar-Wai, 2001) 6. 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968) 7. Beau Travail (Claire Denis, 1998) 8. Mulholland Drive (David Lynch, 2001) 9. Man with a Movie Camera (Dziga Vertov, 1929) 10. Singin’ in the Rain (Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly, 1951) 11. Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (FW Murnau, 1927) 12. Dominion Malta Expansion DLC Announced for Jurassic World Evolution!
It’s time to travel back to Malta! Today, Frontier announced the latest DLC for Jurassic World Evolution 2, the Dominion Malta Expansion.
The continued expansion of Jurassic World Evolution 2 heads to the seedy underworld of Jurassic World Dominion’s Malta marketplace where you help lead illicit operations just before the event of the film! Not only will you get to take in 3 new islands, but you’ll also get to travel along with the likes of Kayla Watts, Soyona Santos, Barry Sembène and Lewis Dodgson - voiced by DeWanda Wise, Dichen Lachman, Omar Sy and Cambell Scott, respectively. AMAZING!
Along with the inclusion of film locations and characters, we also get a slew of dinosaurs. In this DLC, Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus and the much sought after Atrociraptor all join the pack. They all look pretty stunning. But if new additions weren’t enough, we’ll also see new skins for the Allosaurus, Iguanodon, Dimorphodon and the Carnotaurus to match their film counterparts.
Lastly, it sounds like we’ll be getting new buildings, vehicle skins, decorations, the addition of a natural lagoon and many more quality of life changes along the way. This all sounds like a pretty major update, and one that may entice me to dive back into the game on December 8th! You’ll be able to pick up the Dominion Malta Expansion for $19.99. If you want to read more about the update, head over to the Jurassic World Evolution 2 website for more!

Film Review - Jurassic World: Dominion
Continuing our look into 2022 cinema releases, let’s shift from the MCU to another long-running science fiction franchise and look at the sixth instalment in the Jurassic film franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion…
Plot (as adapted from Wikipedia):
Four years after the Lockwood Estate incident and the volcanic eruption on Isla Nublar, once-extinct dinosaurs freely roam the Earth. Amid global efforts to control them, Biosyn Genetics establishes a dinosaur preserve in Italy's Dolomites which conducts genomics research, ostensibly for pharmacological applications.
Claire Dearing, Zia Rodriguez, and Franklin Webb investigate illegal dinosaur breeding sites; Claire's partner, Owen Grady, helps relocate stray dinosaurs. At their remote cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Claire and Owen secretly raise 14-year-old Maisie Lockwood, Benjamin Lockwood's biogenetic granddaughter, and protect her from groups seeking to exploit her unique genetic makeup. When Blue, the Velociraptor raised by Owen, arrives at the cabin with an asexually-reproduced hatchling, Maisie names it Beta. Increasingly frustrated living in seclusion, Maisie sneaks away to explore. Mercenaries searching for Maisie find and kidnap her and capture Beta.
Meanwhile, swarms of giant locusts are decimating U.S. crops. Dr. Ellie Sattler, who is no longer married, observes that crops grown with Biosyn seeds are left uneaten, raising suspicions that Biosyn created the insects. Ellie takes a captured locust to her former partner, palaeontologist Dr. Alan Grant. They determine the locust was genetically engineered with Cretaceous-period arthropod DNA and contemporary migratory locusts.
Franklin, now with the CIA's dangerous-species division in San Francisco, informs Claire and Owen that Maisie may have been taken to Malta. Upon arrival, Claire and Owen infiltrate a dinosaur black market with Owen's former Jurassic World colleague Barry Sembène, who is leading a French Intelligence raid. Carnivorous dinosaurs are unleashed during the foray, wreaking havoc. When Claire and Owen learn that Maisie and Beta were transported to Biosyn, sympathetic cargo pilot Kayla Watts agrees to fly them there.
Chaotician Dr. Ian Malcolm now works for Biosyn. He sought Ellie's help to expose CEO Dr. Lewis Dodgson after communications director Ramsay Cole warned him of Dodgson's illegal activities. Dodgson is exploiting dinosaurs and coerces former InGen geneticist Dr. Henry Wu to modify the transgenic locust to let Biosyn corner the world's food supply. Wu denounces the plan, saying it will cause an ecological collapse as the locusts spread unchecked. Wu meets Maisie and explains that his former colleague, Dr. Charlotte Lockwood (Benjamin Lockwood's deceased daughter), used her own DNA to replicate and give birth to the genetically identical Maisie. Charlotte altered Maisie's DNA to prevent her from inheriting the fatal disease which she had. Wu believes that Maisie and Beta's asexual conception and DNA are key to creating a pathogen to halt the locust outbreak.
A Quetzalcoatlus attacks Kayla's plane in Biosyn's airspace, forcing Owen and Kayla to crash land while Claire is ejected. After separate encounters with a Therizinosaurus, Pyroraptor and Dilophosaurus, the three regroup. Inside Biosyn, Ian and Ramsay covertly advise Ellie and Alan on where to obtain a locust DNA sample. While searching for the lab, they encounter Maisie. Discovering the breach, Dodgson attempts to incinerate the locusts to destroy evidence; some locusts escape through an air vent, sparking a wildfire around the preserve.
Alan, Ellie, and Maisie barely escape the facility before finding Ian. They meet Owen, Claire and Kayla, with Ramsay later joining them. Dodgson flees with dinosaur embryos via a hyperloop, but becomes trapped after Claire and Ellie reroute the power and is then killed by three Dilophosaurus. As the group works together, Owen, with Alan and Maisie's help, captures Beta. They and Wu escape in a Biosyn helicopter during a battle between a Giganotosaurus and the first park's veteran Tyrannosaurus, aided by the Therizinosaurus.
Ellie and Alan rekindle their romantic relationship before testifying with Ian and Ramsay against Biosyn. Owen, Claire, and Maisie return home and reunite Beta and Blue. Wu releases a host locust carrying the pathogen, gradually eradicating the swarms. Dinosaurs and humans adapt to a new co-existence, and the United Nations declares Biosyn Valley an international dinosaur sanctuary.
Review:
So over three new Jurassic films, we’ve gone from a second attempt at a dinosaur theme park that used “world” in the title to a world in which dinosaurs have now reached the wider world, yet it hasn’t really lived up the title of the trilogy at all.  Instead, we’re pulled up short, and not in the best manner possible.  I mean, I can understand why to some degree.  The studio executives at Universal doubtless want to keep the franchise alive over the long-term, and of course they’re probably anxious not to imitate something like Planet of the Apes where humanity is being supplanted by another species due to scientific meddling.
However, by not putting us into a humans vs dinosaurs survival scenario, the film lacks any real resonance.  The plot largely revolves around one genetically engineered human girl and a bunch of locusts modified with prehistoric genetics, making the dinosaurs virtually superfluous and not really tackling their impact on the world.  I expected more around dinosaurs out-competing modern animals, causing widespread ecological mayhem by themselves and some debate on whether they should be killed to restore the eco-systems we know, contained to minimise further damage, or could humanity adapt by scaling up our current approaches to animal management.
The result of not doing this is the Jurassic franchise wasting time rehashing old plot points and issues we’ve already seen umpteen times already, and then trying to compensate with the blatant fan-service of putting the original trilogy of Dern, Goldblum and Neill in alongside the Jurassic World duo.  Another original JP character comes back in the form of Dodgson, but due to the original actor having since been tried and convicted of child sex offences (at least according to Wikipedia), we get a change of actor.  Apparently, Dodgson plays a larger role in the novels that the initial films were based on, and core elements of the character remain consistent across both film and books, but I’m not wild about the Steve Jobs-like presentation of the character given by actor Campbell Scott in this film.
The key reason why I’m not wild about this is because a few years ago, Disney did a Ducktales reboot series in which they do the same kind of thing with a new character for that series, and it also plays too much into the trope of human villains in Jurassic films being weaselly, smarmy jerks that present little to no real threat.  They ultimately just wind up as dinosaur food without really doing anything beyond spouting the odd line or two that basically broadcasts that they’re detestable people.  Just once, it would be nice to see a human villain in a Jurassic film pose a major threat instead of being some irksome twit.  Only the hunter Roland Tembo from Jurassic Park: The Lost World comes close in that respect.
As much as I respect this film for its decent plot, issue exploration, acting and good fan service, it fails to keep the dinosaurs central to the plot or provide a better class of antagonist, issues that I think the upcoming seventh Jurassic film will need to address to keep the franchise viable.  Overall, I give it 7 out of 10.

Jurassic World/Star Wars Clone Wars
Inspired by Harry Potter is the Blue Raptor by Hcokey_Lover31
The Force causes 5 clones to be reincarnated into the velociraptors in Jurassic World
Rex = Blue Jesse = Delta Kix = Charlie - not the youngest Echo = Echo - no scar; doesn't try to fight for dominance - second youngest Fives = Foxtrot- the youngest
It also makes them force sensitive (i.e. telepathic- no mind reading but projecting words; maybe empathic; not telekinetic).
+They call Owen Buir, and Barry Ba'vodu
Scenes I thought of
I. In the pig scene, they freeze and Kix goes forward and peers at Leon trying to see if he's injured, tilting his head and putting head up higher.
Owen and Barry get in and remove Leon before anything happens.
Hoskins tries to point this out and say that they would be great military assets.
Fives then tumbles into a plastic play structure in the pin and starts "crying" very loudly, the others quickly surround him and start nudging and crooning at him again very loudly.
Owen raises his eyebrows and says yes that is very definition discreet. That and the fact that they "loose" 95% of the pigs released. Owen doesn't even try to keep them from catching most of them anymore, they just don't catch them. That and most of the time it is only 2 to 3 of them hunting. Kix sits out the most. Rex joins most hunts because it reminds him of Ahsoka.
II. In the training videos in Fallen Kingdom Blue (Rex) isn't the only one to show empathy - maybe instead of peering at Owen's hands he rests his head on his shoulder and leans a bit. Delta (Jesse) starts "singing" "Stand by Me", Charlie (Kix) drops a box of Kleenex on Owen's head, Echo pulls a blanket off a nearby chair and pulls it over. Fives cocks his head a couple of different ways and then starts rolling around on the floor - "accidently" bumping into Owen. Or something like this. The only one I'm attached to is Kix dropping a box of Kleenex.
III.
In the Indominus Rex hunt, they fake agreeing with her. Then when she is far enough away they stop chasing everyone (no one is killed, there might be some scrapes - from falls and tree limbs). They disappear into the woods a regroup around Owen and Barry.
Rex is so frustrated with that plan he project to everyone in the woods "What kind of osik plan was that! I think shinnies straight off of Kamino could have come up with better. That thing was bigger than all of us combined!"
Either one of the other clones or Rex continuing "You know that di'kut Hoskins came up with this jaro plan"
They give up pretending not being human, but don't give their real names, they don't want any confusion. There's still confusion, voices male = bodies female. They call Owen Buir and Barry Ba'vode without explaining what those mean.
IV Come up with plan to get rit of Indominus, possibly tricking her close to Mosasaurus tank. IDK
At the end, every one (including security team that is alive because the raptors didn't kill them) is on the dock.
Fives goes "Okay now what Buir?"
Someone: How are you talking?
Clone: "IDK, Force Osik, same way we've been reborn into these bodies
Wait are you saying you were human.
Yes. -introducing themselves by stepping forward, then back in line with others. -no CT numbers until Fives says his name and explains he named himself because his CT number is CT-27-5555, explain they were clones
Owen: Wait you were male human clones and now you're female raptor clones, right
Unfortunately, Buir, yes.
Barry: What does buir and ba'vodu mean?
Clones: Uh, Buir is parent and Ba'vodu is parent's sibling. Mandoa is gender neutral so we've been talking mostly in it for our own sanity.
Owen: What about your first parent?
Clones: What parent?
They tell Hoskins that they will never fight another being’s war again.

A diamond in the rough (2/?)
"(F/N), you coming?" Barry called out.
"Yeah, just give me a minute!" (F/N) yelled back as he ran towards the jeep where Barry and the last of the crew sat waiting to get to the worker's village.
(F/N) reached the jeep and jumped in, holding his bag tightly as Barry slapped the side of the car to signal that they could go now, in their way to the worker's village they all chatted about different things but (F/N) remained silent as he looked at his phone and the pdf's in it.
*Maybe we can start feeding them chicken, it'll cause them to be a bit more hungry so maybe Charlie will just eat it....*
*But if she still gives her food to Blue it will only make things worse,* (F/N) frowned.
*It's not like Blue bullies Charlie for her food, but maybe....maybe I need to check what we're feeding Blue,*
Timeskip
(F/N) followed Barry still with his nose buried in his phone as they walked to their bungalow.
"Hey, (F/N)," Barry's voice pulled (F/N)'s attention from his phone.
"Yeah?"
"Should I worry about what you've been feeding the raptors?" He asked.
"No, why?"
"Considering that whatever you did make one of the scientists come all their way to the paddock, it has to be something," Barry explained.
"I mean, the reason they came was that the raptors got better results than they expected, so I don't really think they would be mad," (F/N) shrugged as they reached their bungalow but Barry sighed a shook his head slightly.
"That's what worries me, you got better results in only a month without any fancy lab, while it took them a year to plan the raptors diets, so someone may look into it," Barry persisted as they entered their home.
"Well, it wasn't rocket science, I just changed a few things but I still used their dietary instructions as a base so it's not the same," (F/N) explained as he put his bag on top of the desk in front of his bed.
"I just think that maybe this could be a good way for you to impress some sort of higher up and-"
"Baz, not this again," (F/N) interrupted sighing.
"(F/N), you have talent and the brains to do much more than feed some animals...I just, want you to get somewhere better in life," Barry laid his hand on (F/N)'s shoulder.
"...I know...." (F/N) muttered sighing in defeat.
"But I also want you to be careful, there are people out there who will envy you, we've seen the type of people they are and how far they are willing to go," Barry reminded but at this (F/N) rolled his eyes and walked away.
"It's been years since that Baz, besides, a Corgi was scarier than her," (F/N) said as he took his notebook out of his bag and opened his laptop.
"A corgi with money," Barry reminded but let it go and went to his bed but before he pulled the curtain they had installed in the middle of the room for them to have a bit of privacy in the small place.
(F/N) plugged his earphones and began investigating more about pack behaviors to try and find a sort of solution for Charlie.
Meanwhile
"You're telling me a dinosaur feeder somehow improved the diet we had planned?" Henry asked a bit incredulously at the man who sat nervously on the other side of his desk.
"Well...when I went to ask about the astonishing improvement in the raptors he said he had changed it, so I asked him to write it down and it does make sense," The man explained as he laid the piece of paper on the desk.
"We made some simulations just to make sure, but it is a better diet, so that explains the raptors surpassing our expectations," The man said before going silent as Henry took the paper and read it over.
"And you say this feeder did this on his own?"
"He said so,"
"And he also got it right in less than two months?" Henry raised an eyebrow.
"He said that he had been feeding them for eight-month but that he settled for it only two months in...I guess you can say so,"
Henry remained silent as he read the list a few more times.
*Impressive, but he could be lying,* Henry finally set the paper down.
"Have him come here tomorrow and I'll see if he's saying the truth," Henry ordered as he turned to his computer, this was enough for the other man to understand he was dismissed as he left the office quickly.
Timeskip
(F/N) walked slowly as he enjoyed a popsicle in the warm night as he made his way back home, but as he approached he noticed someone standing on the porch of it, it was clearly not Barry since this was someone much shorter, so (F/N) quickened his pace.
"Can I help you?" (F/N) called out from behind and noticed the man almost jump before turning around.
"You almost killed me," The man joked as he let out a breath.
"Sorry didn't mean to, but is there someone you're looking for?" (F/N) asked a but more gentle.
"Yes, I was told that (F/N) Sembène lives here," The man explained.
"That's me, what can I do for you?"
"Oh, I didn't know you weren't here, please call me Carl," The man offered his hand and (F/N) shook it.
"I was asked to inform you that you have been requested to come to the main labs tomorrow," The man explained but (F/N) couldn't help but tilt his head.
"Couldn't you just have sent me an email?"
"W-well, you see, it's just something small, we thought there was no need to...um," The man stumbled din his words nervously.
"You didn't want this on record," (F/N) finished for him.
"What, are you planning on harvesting my organs?" (F/N) joked but noticed how uncomfortable and nervous the man looked.
"I'm just joking, but, is this because of what happened with the raptors?" (F/N) asked.
"Yes, what you did was fairly impressive, so we would like to ask you some questions on how you did it tomorrow," The man explained.
"I mean sure, when should I go?" (F/N) asked.
"You would need to be there at 2, I wrote down at what hour you should get to the trains since tomorrow will be busy, so make sure to show them this ticket of priority to make sure you get on the train at 1:20, apart from this you should be alright," The man informed as he handed over a paper.
"Alright," (F/N) took it.
"I'll see you there tomorrow, have a good night," The man said before speed walking away not letting (F/N) say anything else as he simply stared at the retreating man confused.
(F/N) simply shrugged as he entered his home and turned on the lights on his side and made his way silently to the curtain, slightly moving it to see his brother snoring in his bed.
*No wonder Baz didn't answer him, when he hits the bed not even an earthquake can wake him up,* (F/N) thought amused.
(F/N) then went and sat on his bed as he read the paper.
*I need to feed the girls at 11 so I should head out at 12 to get to the train station in time, I'll tell Owen before I leave,* (F/N) planned as he went to the bathroom to take a shower before heading to bed, leaving the paper on his desk.

"What do you mean you are being asked in the main labs today?!" Barry almost yelled.
"I mean they want me to go to the main labs today at-"
"I know what it means but why?"
"He said they wanted to ask me some questions, probably to make sure I'm not some sort of undercover something," (F/N) shrugged as they walked to the jeep that would take him to the raptors paddock.
"You do realize how weird that is?" Barry asked and (F/N) nodded.
"That's why I'm telling you so you can tell Owen," (F/N) explained as he hopped over the backside of the jeep alongside the others who needed to go to the paddock.
"I'll be back later, don't worry," (F/N) assured as the jeep started moving.
"If you get yourself killed I'll bring you back to life just so I can slap you for stupid!" Barry yelled as (F/N) chuckled.
(F/N) sat calmly watching the trees as they finally got to the paddock where everyone got off and soon entered.
He walked to the back where the bags of meat were stored and pulled them out quickly to begin mixing them with some of the supplements the raptors needed, as he did this he heard a loud chirp from the paddock.
"Almost done girls!" (F/N) answered amused as he quickly put the food on each respective bucket.
"I'm ready, open the door!" (F/N) yelled but the door didn't open.
"Oi, didn't you hear me?" (F/N) asked but no one answered so he sighed and went to the control panel where he found no one.
*The hell?* (F/N) wondered but the smell of something burning near called his attention as he made his way to where the smell was coming from and found the workers who should be in the control panel around the generator where some smoke was coming from.
"The hell happened?" (F/N) asked and the two turned.
"The generator is toast, we'll need to replace it, but it will take us like an hour to get another generator brought here," One informed and (F/N) groaned as he walked away.
*Great,* (F/N) sighed knowing he could do nothing but wait.
(F/N) had been pacing for a while until finally the new generator was brought, ut it took the others at least ten minutes to get the generator running.
"Alright, you can finally go in," Someone yelled as the door opened, and (F/N) quickly carried two buckets and poured them into each plate before going back and doing the same with the last two buckets before exiting the place and signaling them to let the raptors trough.
(F/N) checked his phone and cursed seeing there was only an hour left for it to be 1:20, fortunately, one of the jeeps was ready to leave with other employees that had just been waiting for the generator to be replaced so he hoped in an let it take him back to the worker's village, when they got there he got off before it even stopped and sprinted to the train station.
(F/N) was out of breath as he reached it but to his horror, the train was already leaving the station.
"W-when's the next train coming?" He asked between breaths one of the security people who looked at him a bit worriedly.
"The next one comes in 10 minutes," She answered.
"And how long is the ride?"
"20 minutes,"
(F/N) sighed as he then walked off to one of the benches near to seat and res since he would need to run again later.
When the train finally arrived (F/N) perked up and quickly made his way to it but was then stopped by a security guard.
"Is there a problem?" (F/N) asked.
"Sir, some have given us some worrying statements about you so I will need to ask you to leave," The guard said, and (F/N) simply stared at him before it downed in him.
*I must stink from the meat,* (F/N) thought as he looked at his not-so-clean clothes but sighed as he took out the priority ticket.
"Look, I myself don't want to be here, but I was requested," He showed the priority ticket and the man quickly shut his mouth.
"Sorry friend," (F/N) said as he entered the train and sat beside the window, ignoring the weird looks he got from some people.
*You try feeding raptors people,* (F/N) thought as he closed his eyes wishing for the train to just get going.

"Where the hell is he?" Mary hissed.
"He should be here any moment, the crow must be holding him up," Carl tried to excuse but he was just as nervous since Dr. Wu was not someone who like being made to wait and he didn't want to have to deal with an angry Dr. Wu.
But fortunately, he spotted who they both were waiting for sprinting towards them.
"Hey...sorry for the wait," (F/N) apologized as he came to a stop in front of them and tried to regain his breath.
"About time," Mary huffed.
"Sorry, the generator back in the paddock died so I got out a bit late," (F/N) apologized again but Mary simply looked him up and down before turning around.
"Follow me, he's waiting for you," She said, and (F/N) and Carl walked after her.
"I'm sorry, but who am I meeting?" He asked curiously since Carl hadn't actually told him.
"Oh...well, it was Dr. Wu who asked for you to come," Carl explained, and (F/N)'s eyes widened.
"W-wait, Dr. Wu as Dr.Henry Wu, one of the most well-versed scientists in the genetic field?" (F/N) said with awe in his voice.
"I'm surprised you know that, but yes," Mary answered and (F/N) gulped actually nervous for the first time in that day.
They soon approached a glass door through which (F/N) could see someone looking at a computer, the computer covering their face.
Mary knocked the door and the man looked up, he then closed his laptop and signaled them to come in.
"Doctor, this is the man you asked for," Carl informed.
"Good, come in," He said, and (F/N) walked in and took a seat in front of him, with the other two remaining in the door but Henry looked at them pointedly.
"Oh, right, sorry," Mary said before pushing Carl out and closing the door before they walked away, finally Henry looked and (F/N) and gave a polite smile.
"Pleased to meet you, I am Dr. Henry Wu," He introduced himself but (F/N) could only think of one thing.
*Dear god I stink,*

After a long day at work, I finally arrived at my bungalow, where my faithful friend Kodi was waiting for me and came to greet me as soon as I opened the door.
- Hi buddy, how was your day? - He grunted and I pet him behind his ears. - Mine was the same, as always.
I put my bag on the couch and went straight to my room, and I was surprised to find a gift box on my bed, I was sure it wasn’t mine and it wasn’t here before, but I soon thought Owen left it there, since he is the only one who has the key to my house.
I approached the box and picked it up, there was a post-it note with something written by hand that said the following:
"I'll be there at 20:00, and if you can, dress in that f/c dress that looks very sexy on you ;)"
I smile when I read and a little laugh comes out of my nostrils, I open the box and feel my heart speed up when I see that there was my Polaroid camera that had been damaged and was now brand new, and in the box there was one of the first photos I took with Owen, where we were having a picnic outside his bungalow, in the photo we were both kissing while we both held the camera with one hand, and between us was Kodi and Red, I still didn't know how the hell we managed to get that picture. I looked at the small image for a few minutes with a smile and a tear escaped my eyes as I remembered that day.
I left the camera and photo on the nightstand and went to the bathroom to shower, I had a cold one because it was still hot and I wanted to cool off from a long day exposed to the heat of Central America.
After I dried my hair completely I did a high bun, and I wondered if I did makeup or not, and in the end I decided to do light makeup after brushing my teeth, I put on my favorite f/c dress which I can say was probably also my boyfriend’s favorite, and I put on my flat sandals that matched the dress. I looked at myself in the mirror for a few long minutes before I turned to Kodi who was lying on the bedroom floor.
- Hey buddy, how am I? - He replied with a small bark and wagged his tail which made a noise when it hit the ground. - Thank you Kodi.
I petted him and went back to the bathroom to keep all the things I had used, I organized the mess around my house a little bit and saw that it was still 10 minutes before Owen arrived to pick me up, I sighed deeply thinking about what I would do to wait for him. I looked at the camera on the nightstand and picked it up, analyzing it carefully. It was certainly the same camera, but I wondered how it had been repaired, looking almost like it was new.  I put the Polaroid where it was before and I took the photo, I had several photos that I had taken with that camera, but this was definitely one of my favorites, and because of that I had left it with Owen. I also observed Red, he unfortunately left us a few months ago, and I couldn't help feeling a little sad to remember that, he was Owen's dog, but I had become attached to him too.
I left my thoughts when I heard the sound of the wheels of a car making noise on the gravel, and Kodi barks towards the door and goes over there, I immediately leave the photo on the nightstand and go towards the door and wait for the sound of the knock on the door, which didn’t take long to happen.
- Who is it? - I ask, but of course I already knew who it was.
- Hello miss, sorry to bother you this simple night, but could you tell me if y/n l/n is home? - I bit my lip to keep from laughing and thought about what I would answer.
- Hmm, I don't know, she has been very busy with work lately, I don't know if she is available. - I leaned against the door waiting for Owen to answer.
- And wouldn't she have some time on her busy schedule, even to go on a date with her amazing boyfriend? - I held back a small laugh in his pity and needy way, and took a deep breath before answering him.
- Hmm, let me see. - I got off the door and opened it, revealing Owen, who surprised me because he was wearing a gray coat with matching pants, and wearing a black shirt, and he rarely dressed like that. I crossed my arms before answering. - Well, I think she does have a little time.
Owen open a smile that melted my heart and showed his perfect teeth, that even after two years together it still made my legs look like gelatin.
- You're beautiful as always. - - I smile at him and feel my blood boil on my face, he then removes the arms that were behind his back revealing a beautiful bouquet of f/fw flowers,  handing them over to me, which I picked up and smelled.
- They are beautiful Owen, thank you. - I approach him, grabbing the collar of his shirt so that he bends down and then I could kiss him, I feel him put his hands on my hips, bringing me even closer to him, crushing the flowers a little bit. It was a deep and long kiss, a kiss to kill the longing since it was a week since the last time we saw each other, even if it was little, I already missed him and his lips,  but unfortunately we had to separate as soon as we needed air, he rested his forehead on mine and then I let go of his shirt I was holding up to that moment and put my hand around his neck.
- I missed you. - Owen whispered, still holding my hips, not allowing me to move away from him.
- I miss you too. - - He kissed me again, it was a smoother kiss and it didn't take long because Kodi interrupted us with a bark, making me jump with fright, which made Owen laugh.
- I think he wants us to go to our date soon. - Owen said and I laughed with him.
- I'll put the flowers in there, I'll be right back. - I give him a quick kiss on the cheek and enter my bungalow, leaving the flowers in a vase that I had in the kitchen, and when I leave I close the door saying goodbye to Kodi, and Owen takes my hand and guides me to the car.
- Can you tell me what the occasion is? - I asked Owen, and he turned to face me.
- Hum?
- The suit, you never wear it unless it is a very special occasion.
- Our date is something special. - I laugh at his speech, and shake my head.
- You know you don't need to dress up like that for our date, do you? I imagine wearing a suit must be hell, especially with the heat here on the island. You know I never cared about you wearing casual T-shirts and shorts. If we were on a date with you shirtless I wouldn't complain. - He laughed and scratched the back of his neck, was he nervous? He only did this when he was nervous, and it was difficult for him to do that.
- I know, but I wanted to do something special. - I stop and look at his green eyes and think for a few seconds.
- Am I forgetting something? What day is today? - He laughed softly before answering.
- No, you're not forgetting anything.
- Then why something so fancy? I think the only time I saw you dressed like that was at your sister's wedding. You know I don't care about simple things.
- I know baby, I just felt I should do something special for you. - He smiled and I looked at him suspiciously. - Oh, and you better use that.
He took a black fabric from his pocket when he finished speaking.
- What's that for?
- I want it to be a surprise.
- You are full of surprises today, aren't you Owen? - I cross my arms to him, which only makes his smile open even more.
- Come on, turn around. - He gestured for me to turn around, so I did and he put the blindfold over my eyes, preventing me from seeing anything in front of me. - Can you see anything?
- I don't think so.
- It's too tight? - He asked as soon as I touched the fabric, and I shook my head.
- No, that's fine. But where are you? - I look for him and then I feel him take my hand.
- Come on, I'll help you. - I hear the car door opening, and with Owen's help I get in and sit on the seat,  and then the door closes, and a few seconds the sound of the other door opens and closes with the sound of the car starting.
- Where are we going? - I ask as soon as the car starts to move, I shake my head trying to look at something, but I didn't see anything, so I decide to turn my head to "look" at Owen.
- You'll already know.
- Hm… - I cross my arms and turn my head forward, leaning against the seat. - You know I don't like not being able to see, right?
- I know baby, but it won't be long, and I promise that nothing will happen, and if you stumble I'll catch you. - Owen placed one of his warm hands on my knee, stroking it gently to try to make me comfortable, I laugh at the last part he said and keep "looking" forward, not being able to see anything beyond the darkness was scary, and left me feeling very vulnerable, my vision was everything to me, and being unable to see, even for a few minutes, terrified me and made me panic.
- Can you turn on the radio? - I ask him and hear him murmur in agreement, he removed his hand from my leg for a few seconds and then the sound of the radio invades the car, the song was over and I didn't recognize it, but the next one that started playing I already knew, and it was one of the songs that I've been listening to a lot lately, it was Am I wrong, by Nico and Vinz, and I started humming along with the song. Other songs I didn't know played , and then I finally heard the car stop and Owen saying.
- We're here. - I mumbled an ok, and waited for him to open my door and help me out of the car, I couldn’t see exactly where I was, but I could see something luminous, Owen took my hand and guided me to the brightest place, and when he stopped he withdrew my blindfold revealing the big tree that was next to his bungalow, its branches were lit with several yellow lights, and right below the tree there was the picnic table with a red towel, where there was a small vase with some flowers, the same as the bouquet he gave me, and there were two small candles beside them. My mouth was open, impressed by all that.
- So, what do you think? - Owen asked me as he put one of his arms around my waist.
- Owen… this is… this is… beautiful, it's incredible. - I felt the air in my lungs leave me, that was so romantic and cute. I turn to face him and see him smiling. - Did you do all this? For me?
- Well, I had a little help. - He shrugged and continued smiling, which made me smile.
- Thank you Owen.
- No need to thank me, not yet, because this is just the beginning. - Owen removes his arms from me and guides me to the table, I sat down and he did the same sitting in front of me.
- Just the beginning? What else do you have to surprise me? - I raise my eyebrows in surprise and then look at him questioningly.
- Calm down, you'll see. - He winked at me which made me smile and made my heart melt. - Waiter!
- Wait, did you hire a waiter? - I was impressed, but when I turn to see the waiter my smile gets even bigger when I see my boyfriend's best friend.  - Barry!
- Good night lady y/n, Mr. Owen, I am at your disposal tonight, what would you like to ask?
I looked at Owen who was also smiling, I realized that Barry was also wearing a suit, but it was a black suit with a white shirt, along with a bow tie, in addition he had grown his mustache and had a notepad, he really looked like the waiter.
- I thought of asking for the chef's special tonight. - Owen replied to the friend who nodded, I bit my lip trying to hold my little laugh, while looking at my boyfriend who didn't break eye contact with me and his smile had never disappeared.
- Uhum, it's a great request sir, it should be here in a few minutes. Want a drink to go with it?
- Champagne, please. - I raised my eyebrows at the choice of drink, I saw Barry nod again and write on his pad.
- I deliver immediately, sir. - As soon as he said that he went to Owen's bungalow.
- Champagne, huh? - Owen nodded, and continued with that smile of melting my heart and making my legs weak. - I still think I'm forgetting something and you don't want to tell me.
- Don't worry, you're not forgetting anything. - He put his hand over mine and drew small circles on my skin and I kept looking at his pretty eyes until Barry came with two glasses and a cold bottle of champagne, placing them on the table and opening the bottle and then pouring the liquid into the containers.
- The food should come in a few minutes. - Barry announces and Owen and I agree, and then the waiter enters the bungalow again, I take a sip of champagne and realize that Owen is still looking at me.
- What's it? Is there something on my face? - I say laughing because he is looking at me like that, and he laughed too.
- The only thing on your face is the most incredible beauty I've ever seen. - He puts his free hand on my cheek, caressing it, I give a small nervous laugh and look away, I feel my face heat up. His compliments still made me feel like it was the first time I heard it and because of that I didn't know how to answer it, but I think Owen knew that I was grateful for that, even though I couldn't say it in words, or I at least expected him to know that.
- Dinner is served. - Barry reappears with two plates in his hands, mine being my favorite food of all time, and Owen's was his favorite dish of course, steak with potatoes. - Enjoy the night, and anything just call me.
- Thanks Barry. - Owen and I talk at the same time and Barry leaves with a smile and sits in a chair by the lake.
- Jinx. - I speak at the same time as Owen again, causing us to laugh.
- Jinx! - The same thing occurs and causes us more laughter.
- Buttercup! - The fourth time happens, and I start laughing a lot about it, and Owen too, and when I calm down I hear the sound of a song start playing and look at my boyfriend, who was still smiling.
- Come and get your love? - I ask Owen and he nods.
- How about we eat our food before it gets cold? - I nodded, and so we started eating, we were silent, just the sound of music resonating, along with the rustling of the leaves on the trees and the sound of the water.
- Did Barry do it? - I asked, referring to the food.
- No. It was me. I just asked him to leave the food warm until we arrived. - Owen replied, and I mumbled an "hmm". - Is it bad?
- What? No, this is wonderful. - I speak as soon as I realize he looked worried and I put my hand over his and look him in the eye. - Seriously, this is amazing, and I don't have enough words to thank you.
His worried face disappeared as soon as I said that, and a smile returned to his face.
- Well, I'm glad you liked it. - He paused for a few seconds before looking at me in that malicious way. - And I think I know a way for you to thank me.
He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, and I bit my lip smiling.
- Better hold your pants Owen! - I hear Barry scream what made me laugh and Owen chuckled.
We continue to eat and drink, and when we're done and the song Dancing in the Moonlight starts playing Owen offers his hand and says.
- Wanna Dance?
- I would love to.
I accept his hand smiling and we both get up, Owen takes me a little farther from the table so that we have space to dance and not occasionally hit there. He put one of his arms around my waist, and with the other he held my hand and we started to dance, even if it wasn't exactly a slow song, but we danced anyway. One of the things that made me even happier is that today was a full moon, so it was very visible and bright, mainly because the only lights that were there were on the tree, so we were both literally dancing in the moonlight. I hummed softly when the chorus came, and I was surprised when Owen did the same, and about halfway through the song when the instrumental part came Owen spin me around and when we came back to the previous position he bends over pressing our lips sweetly, and when we split up we continued to dance slowly, the song ended and was replaced by December 1963. We danced for several minutes, listening to Hooked on a feeling, Sugar Sugar, Burning Love and Endless Love, the last of which Owen was humming softly close to my ear, which was making me shiver, but he stopped singing in the middle of music and then whispered.
- I want to take you to another place. - I look at him silently questioning where he intended to take me, and then he pulls the blindfold out of his pocket.
- Is this really necessary? - I ask, pointing to the black fabric in his hands.
- Yes. - I raise my eyebrows and he smiles. - Trust me.
I sighed and turned around so that he would put the blindfold over my eyes, and as soon as he checked that it wasn't too tight he took my hand guiding me to the car again, it took him a long time to get in the car and I suspected he was talking to Barry.
- Where are we going? - I asked as soon as he got in the car, and he gave a little laugh.
- If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise. - He started the car and I crossed my arms.
- I'm curious, I need to know.
- You'll have to wait baby. - I rolled my eyes, not that he could see, I didn't really like to have to wait, and curiosity was eating away at me, along with that anxiety of not being able to see anything. Owen turned on the radio in the car where it was playing songs I didn't know, he also left his hand on my leg, making small circles on my skin. The drive took several minutes, and every second I was more curious to know where the hell we were, especially when he stopped the car.
- We're here. - Owen commented as soon as he helped me out of the car and withdrew my blindfold, and I came across the velociraptors paddock.
- Why are we here? - I asked as soon as we started climbing the stairs to get to the walkway.
- I thought you would like to see the girls, since it's been a while since you saw them, and I think they miss you. - He answered me as we continued up the metal steps.
- Of course I want to, but shouldn't they be asleep by now?
- I think they don't mind staying awake to see their mother. - I chuckled when he said "mom", it was an internal joke since I mentioned one day that he was Papa Raptor, so he started saying that I was the mother of the velociraptors.
- If you say. - We arrived on the walkway, I leaned on the railing and Owen put his arm around me and whistled, but nothing happened, I looked at him who whistled again.
- Come on girls, don't you want to see your mother? - He speaks with his Alpha tone, but at the same time begging for them to appear, which made me laugh when none of them did.
- Leave it to me. - I put my fingers on my lips to amplify the sound of the whistle, and in a few seconds I see Echo, who tried to imitate my sound, then Blue, Delta and finally Charlie appears. - Did you see?
- Traitors. - He murmured more to himself, but I managed to hear what he said, what made me laugh, he was still a little jealous when I managed to get them to pay more attention to me than to him.
- Hey, we are their parents, I'm sure they love us equally. - I caress his back and he looks at me. - And aren't you going to tell me that you didn't obey your mother just before your father?
- Yes, you are right. - He laughed and looked in the direction of the raptor squad, Delta and Charlie were making noises to each other as if they were going to attack each other, but nothing really happened, already Echo was still trying to reproduce the sound of my whistle, and Blue was attentively looking at Owen and me. - Delta, Charlie, stop it!
He had to snap his fingers a few times and whistle until they stopped and looked at him. I rested my elbows on the rail and started talking to them.
- Hey girls, how are you? Did you miss me? - They make some sounds that make me smile. - I missed you too.
Owen changes position and stands behind me, putting his strong arms around my waist, pressing his chest against my back, and resting your chin on top of my head.
- Did dad fight you a lot this week? - I feel Owen's chest quiver with his muffled laugh and the velociraptors make more sounds. I was sure Owen would say something, but he said nothing, and we were like that in silence, with the occasional sound that the raptors made, I looked up watching the beautiful starry sky with the big, bright full moon.
- The sky is so beautiful today. - I comment and Owen bends to stand at my ear.
- Not as beautiful as you. - I open a smile and close my eyes, enjoying the cool breeze that hit my skin, and after a few minutes in silence I say.
- Thank you Owen, for everything, it was an amazing night and I loved everything. - I turn to face him and put a hand on his cheek. - I love you.
- I love you too. - Our lips are moving in a deep and passionate kiss, those kisses that I wish would never end, but that unfortunately we had to stop at some point, but this time it wasn't because of the air, but because Owen slid one of his hands up to my ass.
- Owen! - I tap him on the shoulder as he laughs and smiles innocently.
- What?
- Not in front of the kids. - I speak laughing, putting his hand on my hip again and I hear the sound of the velociraptors.
- I think they want us to continue. - Owen said while lowering his voice with each word getting closer to my ear and slowly lowering his hand but I stop him from getting to where he wanted to go.
- I think they're saying, "Eww, mommy and daddy are kissing, how disgusting, stop it." - I tuned my voice to try to imitate a child which made Owen laugh.
- Okay, maybe you're right.
- But... If Barry has already left... we could go back to your bungalow ... - I suggest while playing with the collar of his shirt.
- I like that idea, however, I still have one last surprise. - I turn my attention away from his shirt so I can meet his eyes.
- One more? First you surprise me with my camera that had broken and was now fixed, in addition to my favorite photo, then you surprises me being dressed like this all stylish along with a bouquet of my favorite flowers, and then take me to your bungalow where there was incredible decor, with my favorite food and champagne, with background music and Barry as a waiter, sooo you decided to bring me here to see the girls. What else would you have to surprise me?
- Well, I can make a huge list of things that I could surprise you with, but… I was talking to all our daughters and son about this for a while, and I think we all came to a consensus. - Of course he was referring to the velociraptors, the dinosaurs I trained and Kodi, for us it is as if they were somehow our "children".
- Oh yes? A consensus among them all? - I ask curiously, it should have been funny that he kept talking to all of them to reach a consensus on something.
- Shh, don't ruin the moment, I'm trying to be serious here. - I looked closely at his face, and by his expression he was really serious, and then my smile fell becoming serious too, paying attention to what he was going to say.
- Y/n, I never thought in my life that I would have a serious relationship with anyone, I never thought that I would meet such a wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, funny, courageous, kind, loving woman who could have stolen my heart like you, and after thinking about it a lot I made the decision that I want you forever in my life, that you are mine and that I am yours. - He knelt down and took a black velvet box from his coat, and when he opened a ring it was inside, I put my hands on my mouth and I could feel the tears starting to form on my face. - So, y/n l/n, I want to ask you if you would like to become Mrs Grady.
My voice was gone for a few seconds and my tears kept falling, so in the midst of sobs I managed to speak.
- Yes, oh my god, yes of course. - I hugged him so fast and tightly, that he almost lost his balance and fell.
- Hey! Careful, it almost made the ring fall off. - He spoke with a little laugh and put his arm around my waist, I move my head so I could face Owen and he had a big smile, we stared at each other for a few brief seconds when we slowly approached our faces and sealed our lips in a passionate, deep, full of affection and breathtaking kiss, I don't know how long that moment lasted, but I wish it would never end.
When we separated our lips, Owen gently took my left hand, sliding the ring on my finger, after he put away the small velvet box our lips met again, until we were interrupted by the sounds of raptors below us.
- Yeah girls, now it's official. - Owen told the squad what made me smile even more, and I looked at my finger to see the ring, it was silver and had small details carved into it, but what I found strange was that I had a familiar feeling about that ring, I was sure I had seen it somewhere before.
- I know you don't have a jewel like most engagement rings, but I know that you would like perhaps something more simple and sentimental than something extravagant.
- Wait... I recognize that ring, it... it is my great-grandmother's engagement ring... how did you get it? - I look at him and he scratches the back of his neck before answering me.
- When I was looking for a perfect ring, I called your mom to get a suggestion of what you would like, and she said I could use the ring that your dad used to ask her in an engagement that belonged to your great-grandmother. We all know you like these sentimental things, so I accepted her suggestion, and she sent me the ring. Not you… - I shut his mouth by sealing our lips, and I could feel him smiling during the kiss.
- Oh Owen… that… is perfect. I love you very very very much. - I say as soon as we split up, his smile couldn't be bigger, and of course I return him with a smile too. - Thank you.
- I love you too. And you're welcome, I just do what's best for my girl. - Our lips meet again, and again the velociraptors make a noise from below. - I love you too, I love all my girls.
He said, addressing the dinosaurs below us who were still watching us closely.
- And boy, don't forget Kodi.
- And boy. Even though he's kind of disobedient to me and…
- Hey! - I playfully punch him in the chest making him laugh.
- You didn't let me finish, I was going to say that I love him too. - We both continue to smile like two idiots that we are, and without realizing it we started to dance slowly there on the walkway, even without any music.
- We didn't even get married and we already have 8 daughters and 1 son. - I laugh at the thought of our dinosaurs and dog as our children, which in some ways wasn't wrong, since they were like children.
- Well, not that I want to have a real baby now, but we could do the process of one, you know… - Owen moved his eyebrows suggestively making me laugh, he ran his fingers through the zipper of my dress, threatening to open it.
- First let's put the children to bed, and then we go back to your bungalow and... we can see what can happen ... - I ran my fingers over the collar of his shirt.
- I can't wait for that. - He smirked and before I could stop him he hit my ass.
- Owen! - He left my side and started walking quickly down the walkway.
- Let's go girls! Time to sleep! - He gestured for them to go to the cage where they slept, he didn't need to repeat the command and soon they went. - And you come with me.
He gestured towards me and I bit my lip and crossed my arms.
- Oh I don't know... should I? - I teased him and didn't move from the place I was, but Owen approached me slowly with that look of "Do you dare disobey my orders?".
- Are you disobeying the orders of Alpha, miss? - He stood a few centimeters from me, with his arms crossed and looking "serious", I forced myself to look serious, but that was very difficult.
- Who said you are Alpha? - I asked him, not breaking eye contact for even a second, and before I could regret what I said he picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. - Owen! Put me down!
- Since you doubt my authority as Alpha, I think I should show my domain over here.
I start to laugh and hear his muffled chuckle and he starts down the metal stairs, heading towards the car.
I think today would be a long night.
