The most fake ridiculous form of "activism" i've ever seen online is when an artist gets outed as some kind of nonce or -phobe or -ist and instead of anyone focusing on anything important they overdose of fakewoke copium by drawing the artist fan art under the guise of "reclaiming" the characters.

an artist could literally be the next hitler and you would have steven universe softboi type ""activists""" making 100 posts about how "heh, i guess this means this guys oc is mine nowww #BeGayDoCrime" like no youre not actually stealing this character, it doesnt belong to you just because the owner is a bad person. and you drawing the character and parading ur fanart as some kind of super epic dunk on the owner does nothing for no one and helps none of the people the artist hurt. you are literally just making free art for the artist

like if you wanna still like the artists work and draw fan art thats entirely up to u bc like Whatever but it irritates me so much when u ppl do gift art and claim its activism bc like its not and i need you guys to stop lying to yourselves lol please. do you know how ridiculous it would be to be hurt by someone and then see ppl online who claim to support you just turn around and draw art for like, ur abuser or something and act like theyre doing u a favor when really its obvious they just wanted a guilt free way to continue fawning over their ocs

hiii anon! i’ve typically worn off on puting characters in neatly labelled boxes, but this offers me a chance to get mad at the fandom so i will. ehem:

JET IS BI. HE LIKES WOMEN TOO, OKAY? in my lore he and sally had the same private tutor so he has has a girlfriend before. hell, when him and amy yap about sonic, they have their own moments. jet likes girls and guys, and no amount of yaoi should diminish that. he’s trans, but transitioned pre-puberty even on a medical level because wave pulled some strings, so he never experienced a stitch of dysphoria in his LIFE lmao. dude got the cis dlc and ran with it

STORM IS AROACE. no, this isn’t because he has an unconventional design and is a less popular character. i find that the less popular a character is, the more fandom people will try to either pair the spares or write them out of shipping entirely. i have good reasons for storm to be aroace in my lore, but the main one is that he is PLATONICALLY DRIVEN AND COMMITTED. he loves his friends, he loves his family, he loves to teach, he loves to create (music, food, fitness, crafting) and that leaves no room for romance. he has a big heart and uses all his points into the form of love he thinks is way more important. he also doesn’t have time for labels so don’t call him aroace lol. also maybe don’t call him cis/trans/genderqueer he’s probably the worst out of the three of them when it comes to labels.

finally, ehem,

WAVE IS BISEXUAL. IDK WHAT THE FANDOM’S FUCKING PROBLEM IS WITH BI WOMEN, BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN A SINGLE FUCKING PERSON MAKE HER ANYTHING BUT A LESBIAN. IS IT BECAUSE SHE WEARS PANTS? IS IT BECAUSE SHE’S MEAN? i genuinely cannot see the logic here but there is nothing to indicate she can’t like men. people, she hardly even INTERACTS with women! she says maybe one word to Amy in Riders IF THAT, and since y’all hate Free Riders ig it doesn’t count when she talks to Amy and Rouge <- please sense the intense sarcasm because i love that game.

okay, rewinding back to wave, she has a type. she’ll sleep with any woman and pursues them sexually, and will mirror any interaction a guy has with her while not pursuing them. in terms of romantic specific interactions though, she’s more compatible with men because she’s emotionally detached and not good with talking about feelings or being soft with people. most of the girls she’s entertained want to have an emotional connection and wave hates it. gives her the ick. i could go on but whatever lol

oh, and she’s ehhh i wouldn’t call her cis but it’s a bit rough to call her intersex because of Ovisanguitan Testalysis (OT) in my lore, which is technically an intersex condition. wave couldn’t give less of a fuck about pronouns she’s misgendered as a guy all the time in races and research conferences because they’re male dominant fields. you can use they/them pronouns on her but for the love of fuck do NOT pull some androgynous “she wears pants” bullshit on me i am so fucking serious she’s so feminine it’s insane

anyways, to conclude, i call them my honourary bi birds because storm loves his team so much he’ll label himself as bi to fit the branding, and if that’s not a testament to his platonic radiance then idk what is.
