These are all constellations that exist in our world too, but I decided to give some of them my own designs. It is based on the Irish Zodiac with some animals swapped out.

For shits and for giggles, I like to imagine that this set of headcanons is some sort of "sequel" for the "Nightmare Repellent" and "Dating Free" headcanons.

General Headcanons

You have to learn to snuggle with Free on his own terms.

Free has to learn that there's a time and place for everything: you probably don't want to snuggle while you're hyperfocusing on work, but you'd be more appreciative if you were winding down for the day.

When it comes to the act of cuddling itself, Free tends to favour positions that either allow him to wrap his arms around you, or that let you rest against him.

The main takeaway is that Free is very physical. He doesn't consider it 'cuddling' unless there's physical contact.

For felines, cuddling is both a way to strengthen your bond with your partner, and a non-violent means of informing/reminding other felines “this is my partner”. It's a purely instinctive behaviour.

Once Free has you in his arms, he generally won't let go unless it's urgent.

If you're shorter than him, he likes to rest his chin atop your head while he pulls you closer.

You’ll need to invest in a lint roller — hair from Free's mane gets everywhere.

Free tends to run warmer than you do; not just because of his — for lack of a better term — "active lifestyle", but also due to the insulation his mane provides.

He's a godsend during colder days, and he knows it.

Rainy Day [Prose]

It always rained plenty in November, but these days, you worried that it was raining too much.

Every day began and ended the same way: with grey, miserable clouds, and even more miserable downpours of unfeeling, icy rain. If you were the philosophising type, you would've found some good in the rainstorms. Maybe even made a link between the unyielding torrents and beastkind's ancient ambition to rid itself of its instincts that were so unforgiving. Your nose twitched as you tossed the thought over in your head, playing with the implications that were borne of it. You shook your head to yourself. You weren't the philosophising type. Never were.

If you were to categorise yourself, you were a simple sort of person. The sort of simpleness that came with a rough-around-the-edges intellect — the sort of intelligence that beget a righteous hatred for the rain, the cold, and what they both stood for: the coming of winter.

There was plenty to love about winter, just as there was plenty to hate about it.

"Free," you call, finally pulling your eyes away from the window, "remind me to buy more blankets!"

You aren't sure that he's heard you — the noise of the shower often drowns out everything else — but for the time being, you'll pretend as if he has. It's then you hear the water suddenly stop, and the tell-tale click of the water heater switch being turned off. You turn your head towards the corridor, down to the bathroom door. Free's head sticks out, his wet, drippy mane pooled around his neck.

"Babe, you said somethin'?" he asks, disappearing back into the bathroom for a moment only to come out with a towel wrapped around his neck. You decide to ignore the fact that it's your favourite towel.

You make grabby hands towards him, trying to encourage him to come closer. "Don't worry about what I said and just come here. Please?"

Free takes a few steps forward, before he stops suddenly. He shoots you a look, playful but teasing. "Aren't you always saying that I shouldn't cuddle you when I'm wet?"

You quickly come up with a loophole. "I said 'wet'. And you're not wet, are you? You're 'damp'. That's completely different. Now stop talking and come here!"

"What do you think of this one?" you suggest, tilting your tablet screen. You can feel Free's chin move from where it is positioned on your head, and you know he's trying to see the online catalogue.

"Does it matter?" he says. "They're all the same thing."

You huff, but you don't correct him. They are all the same blanket, just in different colours and sporting different patterns. "Fine. Let me rephrase what I said: which of these blankets do you dislike the least?"

In your mind, this is exactly how miserable, rainy days should be spent: curled up together with someone you love, and sorting through which new blankets to buy.

Sariphi Kleinoel's Character & Personality

Sariphi is a fifteen-year-old-girl. Her first name means "sacrifice" in an ancient tongue. Sariphi is the Queen Consort of Ozmargo over all beastkind. She likes any food as long as it tastes delicious to her, such as bread. Sariphi's hobby is reading as she loves to learn. Although she was brought up knowing she was to become a sacrifice, she has a cheerful outlook on life. In fact, Sariphi doesn't fear beasts at all. Unfortunately, She ironically suffers from astraphobia, due to her depressive upbringing. Despite being raised around humans who fear beasts, Sariphi isn't prejudice against beasts or humans. She treats everyone equally and doesn't hold grudges against others who have less than favorable views about her. Sariphi is quite kind, positive, thoughtful and considerate when it comes to others. She's also slightly clumsy and messy in most things she does. But Sariphi tries her best and continues to persevere. Thus, she can be quite determined and hard-working, especially regarding housework or tasks which support her loved ones. Sariphi's contracted Holy Beast familiar is the golden phoenix-like creature, Bennu.

The divide between beastman and humanity is a tale as old as time. Due to this hostility, beastman traditionally hide who they are, except in Anima city. Anima city is a city for beastman with little human influence. It is here that we meet Michiru. She is a tanuki, but she wasn’t always a tanuki. Originally Michiru was human, but she doesn’t know why she changed. In Anima city, Michiru meets Shirou. He is a wolfman who believes he is the protector of all beastkind. Together these two will work to protect beastkind from those who threaten it.

The Kairyu-Shin

So the Porkanto Arc of my Yu-Gi-Oh inspired Dungeons and Dragons campaign is coming to a close, and the arc as a whole has changes a whole LOT with the team as a whole. With only 2 of the original 5 characters remaining, and new friends having been picked up, the party is getting shaped up to leave the port-side town to head out.

However, one crucial part of the arc was the festival that just ended. The festival may have not had the biggest impact on the players, but it helped to flesh out the world, with people from other countries making their way across the desert or sea to come enjoy the variety of unique foods, participate in the martial arts tournament, and appreciate the culture that Porkanto has.

But the biggest purpose the festival serves is to show respect towards the legendary sea serpent that inhabits the waters around their town: The legendary Kairyu-Shin, a sea serpent many of miles long and a body as thick as some of the ships that board the town itself.

The current town doesn't interact with the creature, having only heard legends and stories that have been passed down through the generations. But on the last night of the festival, they did catch a glimpse of the creature; or rather, the creature's child.

The Kairyu-Shin itself is a child from a creature only told through storybooks, commonly referred to as the "Father of Beastkind". It dwells primarily in the ocean, but it doesn't seem aggressive. The creature simply lies on the ocean's floor, as if resting in wait for something. Why it isn't active, no one is currently sure, but that might be a good thing.

It has had two conflicts recorded in history, both happening long ago, with one occuring against the threat to the world known as Yubel, and was one of the few creatures the demon wasn't able to properly defeat. The other was a bit more of a territorial fight with the stone dragon that inhabits the cave and earth around Porkanto.

The serpents primary way of attacking is using its large stature to slam and ram into others, as it showed when, during its battle with the stone dragon, it wrestled the dragon to the ground, capable of coiling around the creature fully several times over. However, you don't get the title of Ocean Lord for no reason. It has command over the waters, capable of causing great floods, whirlpools, and tornados of water that stretches high into the sky, as used during its clash with Yubel.

The people fear the creature, understandably, but whether or not the creature is actually threatening to them has yet to be revealed. Who know's, what if the Kairyu-Shin is actually protecting the town? We may never know.

I remember a au on tumblr, where Leano tried to rid of her scales by a doctor, living with Legosi near of the black market for that. And she dies. Baby Legosi, traumatised is found by Gouhin who decide to raise him. And i wonder, do you think that Legosi would have been more adjusted more happy if raised by Gouhin? Would he have had less self-hate?

I think Legoshi would have been more realistic about himself, and what he needs as a carnivore.

In my head, Legoshi’s self-loathing comes from two sources: 1) society and 2) Gosha's ‘pacificism’.

Beastkind society pushes the idea that all carnivores are inherently dangerous, and are instinct-driven beasts. It also pushes the idea that carnivores taking pride in their non-herbivorous traits (strength, claws, teeth) are bad. Carnivores are only good when in service to herbivores, when they work to maintain society's status quo. These harmful messages are spread by societal institutions, most popularly schools. When societal narms and values are spread through social institutions (think schools, churches, etc.), it is known as secondary socialisation.

Secondary socialisation trasmits society’s values, but society is only the latter part of the socialisation process.

The family is far more formative in transferring social values. When families instill norms and values into their children, it's known as primary socialisation.

All of this is to say: society transmits its values the easiest when those values have been built up by the family.

gosha's passivity

Gosha's ‘pacificism’ (or passivity, as I find to be more accurate) shaped Legoshi’s worldview more thann society. Society still played a role, mind you, but Gosha's values undoubtedly had a large impact.

I want to pay special attention to Gosha's species for a moment.

He’s a Komodo dragon; a type of venomous monitor lizard. Due to his venom, he is ostracised from society. Those who are familiar with any form of racism (be it against black folk, or another minority) can draw parallels between that and Gosha being forced to sit at the back of restaurants, and being threatened the one time he does sit out in the open at a restaurant. It's all very clearly discrimination.

But, Gosha doesn't really try to fight the status quo. And by “fight" I don't mean that he should be aggressive or anything like that — what I mean is that he doesn't try to fight the messages that his passivity sent to Legoshi. Something as simple as a “Legoshi, it isn't right how I am being treated” would have been enough.

By not voicing discontent with his status quo, Gosha sent the message that “it’s all right for venomous animals to be treated differently”. Given that Gosha is naturally cautious about his venom (as he really should be — we've seen what it is capable of), it provides a ‘justification’.

So the message then becomes “it's all right for venomous animals to be treated differently, because their venom sometimes hurts others”.

Adding on society’s message that carnivores are inherently dangerous nets you: “It's all right for carnivores to be treated differently because they sometimes hurt others”.

It is a sensible message when taken on its face.

In a world where your tiger friend is (purported to be) just as likely to maul you as the predator that killed someone on the news, it makes sense to be wary of all carnivores as a result. Self-preservation trumps all.

The problems start when that message is taken to its logical extreme.

That is to say: if one (1) carnivore has the potential to be dangerous, all carnivores are dangerous solely because they have the potential to be.

leano + the black market

I feel like this AU would only work if Gosha was out of the picture or if Leano was so certain that the Black Market descaling treatment would work that she would took her son.

I lean towards the second scenario even though I would personally find it weird that Leano wouldn't sneak off by herself to do any experimental treatment. If she hates being looked at by everyone to the point where even her own son knows that (and it's why he didn't turn around to face her even when she hugged him for the first time in a long time) ... I feel like there'd need to be a reason.

So, let's just say that she still wanted to have her son close to her and/or she was so confident that the Black Market treatment would work.

gouhin + raising legoshi

I personally cannot see Gouhin as the type to raise anyone. I feel like 'mentor' is a better term to use — he’ll give Legoshi the tools and knowledge necessary to keep himself alive, and he’ll give the kid a safe place to stay, and as much as an education as possible, but that's it.

I’m certain Gouhin has a soft spot for children (he raised one, after all), but I think he wouldn't want any child around his place of work. Especially considering that he works with carnivores who would otherwise be arrested for predation.

I can see Gouhin making arrangements for Legoshi to be looked after by someone he knows — it would be part of an attempt to give Legoshi as normal a life as possible.

Still, thanks to Gouhin, Legoshi learns more about carnivore physiology and psychology than he would have otherwise. Yet ... I don't believe that Gouhin would have dispelled much of the rumours around meat and meat consumption.

Maybe Legoshi’s innocent questions (“How come more carnivores in the Black Market don't go feral, even though they're always around meat?”) inspire Gouhin to rethink some of his methods and beliefs.

Legoshi’s curiosity would incite him to harass Gouhin for answers that the poor man, quite frankly, doesn't have.

No matter what happens though, Legoshi would have ready access to tools and materials that differ from that of mainstream society. Still, it would be up to Legoshi to use them effectively. Giving someone a map doesn't mean that they’ll use it.

And really, it could go either way — with Legoshi fully embracing mainstream medicine as it relates to feral carnivores.

But personally? I'd like it better if Legoshi realises that not everything written in the books are true. Maybe he could start a little observation diary. It's not as hands-on as Gouhin, but it's a way for Legoshi to organise his thoughts and ideas for carnivore rehabilitation.

gosha as an antagonistic force

While living with Gouhin, Legoshi learns the exact opposite of Gosha’s belief system — that being a carnivore doesn't mean that he deserves to be ill-treated.

Given that Legoshi was probably taken by his mother to the Black Market w/o Gosha's approval and/or consent ... I think it'd be interesting if Gosha was the antagonist.

I don't mean villain. I mean ‘antagonist’: someone who opposes the protagonist (Legoshi, in this case).

The antagonism here could stem from a difference between Gosha's belief system, and Legoshi’s own.

Remember: Legoshi is all Gosha has to remember his daughter by. A daughter who so hated the scales she inherited from him that she was willing to risk death just for the smallest chance of them being removed.

For Gosha to discover that his meek grandchild shares a belief system that is completely opposite to his own ... it'd be like a punch to the gut. A final and utter rejection, in a way.

And, here ends my rambling.

Lin Jie said seriously, "The Unicorn Lion needs to go into slumber for a period of time, so it temporarily closed its space. Mayen asked excitedly, "Brave warrior, how was it?" That poor old man that had been pushed by Lin Jie slid on the ground for tens of meters before stopping. Lin Jie's nonplussed figure flew out from within the spiral, and just nice landed on Mayen's body. Mayen was praying to the space spiral, but he suddenly realized that the luster on the surface of the statue completely disappeared. "I hope that youngster can save the great Unicorn Lion…" He dodged the shards by a hair's breadth! Lin Jie leaped out as though he was a bullet, flying past countless shards that were about to fall, and he rushed into the space spiral. The space spiral was more than 300 yards away, with Lin Jie's movement speed, it was impossible to run out before the space completely collapsed.Ī few pieces of space shards fell in front of him!įacing the space shards, Lin Jie bumped straight into them and activated Undefeated Anger, and his Health Bar immediately dropped dangerously low! As his right shoulder sank down, his Health Points actually dropped by a total of 300 points! The collapsing space shards dropped down from the top, and Lin Jie could not dodge in time. The Light Unicorn Lion's horn was a Sub-Legendary material, making its rarity comparable to dragon scales! Lin Jie aimed at the horn and activated Army Obliteration! The Broken Blade was without a doubt, sharp! It allows you to recover the upper limit of your Health Points that was lost due to any reason.īlack holes and space spirals appeared at the surroundings one after another. : Sub-Legendary special item, can be used 3 times. The Broken Blade pierced through its chest, and then Lin Jie mercilessly cut off its flesh and a marble, which looked like the heart, landed in his hand. The space shook as the Spirit of Light Unicorn Lion fell to the ground heavily. Its Health Bar gradually decreased, and Lin Jie drank a low-level Berserker Potion, while the Broken Blade flickered with a blood red light. If it continued to eat the horns, its level would also decrease.įacing Lin Jie's absurdly high defense, the Light Unicorn was helpless there were no other living creatures within the space for it to order. Lin Jie took a look at its status now, and he discovered its attack had decreased by as much as 55%! Wolf Run Swordsmanship let Lin Jie's attack speed become faster and faster, having the vigor and vitality of a wolf. The Light Unicorn Lion revealed a shocked expression as if it was a human, wondering what that defense was. Its claws brutally smacked Lin Jie in his chest, only for a dull sound to echo in return. The Light Unicorn Lion's roaring sound became sad and shrill yet hoarse. There was a cub horn stuck in its throat. The Light Unicorn Lion-as the common Father and God of all unicorn lions, if it attacked its believers, it would receive a severe punishment! Lin Jie grabbed a huge bunch of horns and stuffed them into its mouth. The lion quivered and then fell to the ground heavily. Lin Jie sprung up and simultaneously pierced both of his swords into the lion's mouth and started slashing madly! The cub horn was crushed into powder by the sharp teeth, and Lin Jie took that opportunity to make a move, and he kicked the lower abdomen of the lion made of light particles. 'It really came true, eh?' It wasn't Lin Jie's head but the cub's horn that was prepared way earlier! 'If at this moment, another crisp sound of crunching could be heard…' Scarlet blood flowed out from his chin that was pierced, and in addition, his eyes and its fangs were getting close and closer, probably in the next second, the mighty lion might just swallow his head whole. King Leonhart's Character & Personality

Leonhart, born Richard, is in his twenties. He's the current king of Ozmargo over all beastkind. As a child, Leo was cheerful and kind. He deeply cared for his subjects and treated them with kindness. Leo also rejected violence and often preferred to avoid conflicts. Instead, he used diplomacy. As an adult, Leo is said to be a fierce ruler who leads his countrymen with brutality. In truth, he wants nothing more than his subjects to feel safe and secure in his country. Leo shows his cruel side, not because he wants to, but because he sees it as a means to keep his country's political parties in check. He fears others will try and usurp him if he doesn't keep his appearance as a strong king. Behind his stern exterior, Leo has a softer side he rarely shows to anyone. He sacrifices much to the throne. Only when his queen is beside him can Leo forget about his pressing job. He's easily angered, especially when the senators scheme behind his back. Leo isn't afraid to express his anger around others and will kill anyone he feels have disrespected him or his queen. Being born a beastman-human hybrid, which is considered an aberration, he suffers from a constant inner struggle of whether he's a beast or a human. Leo is also afraid he'll be discovered and have his secret exposed. Having to hide his human side while pretending to be someone he's not makes him believe he's a disgrace and doesn't deserve to be king. After meeting his queen, Leo slowly starts to overcome this fear and self-loathing. He even shows his gentler side more in public. Leo later uses his position and blood to create a world where beasts and humans can live peacefully. The love for his queen made him embrace every part of himself: his strengths, weaknesses and beast-human genes. Beyond this, Leo's favorite food is anything with a good, tough and chewy texture. His hobby is howling first thing in the morning. Leo's contracted Holy Beast is a white dragon named Gwiber.
