Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain #1 is a fun debut that shows off why the character is popular
Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain #1 is a fun debut that shows off why the character is popular #comics #comicbooks
What happens to a hero whose country doesn’t want them? It sounds almost unfathomable to believe such a thing would happen to anyone who helped defend their nation. The thing is, that is exactly what happens to many Veterans when they come home. It is even worse for anyone of color who is a Veteran, as there are countless accounts of history which shows the deep rooted hate towards Black veterans…

So.... that’s Lizzie, yeah? We know her world’s Peggy Carter is in the next issue but there’s no way that that is Peggy Carter in that panel.
My guess is that Morgan either brainwashed Lizzie (who, as far as we know, isn’t a telepath and isn’t a part of the Corps) or offered to give her answers on what happened to her Brian in order to have her fight Betsy.
Because honestly, I love Peggy but I wouldn’t find it believable that she’d be a physical threat against Betsy Braddock, psionic sword wielder and one of the top 5 telepaths of Earth 616.
But Lizzie? That’s slightly more believable. Even more so if she brings Peggy along initially on “her” side.

Betsy Braddock Captain Britain #1
This was A LOT! So many characters! So much story! I wanted to dip my toe in with this, but instead I got thrown into the deep end. Don’t get me wrong, I liked a good amount of this. Betty was great! I loved her chemistry with Rachel Super cute!! All of the stuff making fun of the Right Wing was HILARIOUS!! I did find the story really interesting, but it’s just so much to process. I kind of want to give this a chance, but I already feel in over my head. IDK if I can keep reading. There was so much history I had to learn...

I am living for the sweet moments of these two, and how Rachel makes sure Betsy takes care of herself
and also making sure she stays as relaxed as possible ;)<3

A preview of X-Men: The Wedding Special #1
X-MEN: THE WEDDING SPECIAL #1
WEDDING EXTRAVAGANZA! Mystique and Destiny are one of the most beloved — and longest running — gay couples in history. Somewhere in their 100+ years together, the pair married, but we’ve never seen the event on the page. This year MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE makes history with Marvel’s first woman-to-woman wedding in a story by superstar X-Men scribe Kieron Gillen! And with a couple as complex as these two, you know there’s a lot more to the story. We promise party crashing! Villainy! Romance! In the classic tradition of FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #3 and X-MEN #30, this anthology will be a must-read for every comics fan. Featuring the Marvel debuts of award-winning writers Yoon Ha Lee (Ninefox Gambit, Machineries of Empire) and M. Louis (Agents of the Realm), and much more talent to be announced!
