IMO, there's a very real possibility of Christopher being the one who calls Eddie's parents, because he genuinely doesn't know how to process his feelings. But he doesn't realize they're gonna use it as an excuse to take him away from his Dad. And that makes it all the more heartbreaking 💔😭

Like I said BuckTommy season 8 power couple but it would be great if Eddie has his feelings realization towards the beginning of the season and the midseason finale is him telling Buck and Buck just pauses. Looks at Eddie with tears in his big blue eyes and says “Eddie. It’s too late.” Because Buck is so so close to being in love with Tommy and he wants that to happen and moving on from Eddie was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do and he had to come back from the dead once. Eddie can’t just throw himself down as an obstacle right as Buck is about to cross the finish line and finally have a relationship that will last. It’s not fair to Buck. It’s not fair to Eddie. And we get left of that gut punch of a scene until the back half of season 8.

A darkness settled over Buck, black and thick like tar. It was the same heavy and horrible thing that had been building in his chest, the thing that could destroy him. It seeped through his entire body, to the tips of his fingers and toes, and whispered that he should just lie down – if he just walked back over there, he could lie beside Eddie and rest. They could be together.

"Christopher," he breathed, the word barely audible. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he dug his hand painfully into his side, trying to use the pain as an anchor. He couldn't lie down. He couldn't rest.

Christopher needed him.

Eddie’s breath sounds heavy on the other line, similar to the way one would be while trying to control himself not to cry. “Come upstairs,” Buck says, his eyes fixed on the hood of the car.

“I’m not coming in,” Eddie says, voice shaking.

He frowns, “Eddie, what’s going on?”

“I’m going to El Paso to get my son back.” He says, anger clear in his shaky voice.

Buck feels like cold water ran through his veins, “Give me five minutes.”

OR : in the process of getting christopher back, eddie ultimately loses Buck in way he had never fully allowed himself to think about.

The moment Eddie’s foot connects with the man’s nose, he knows he’s gone too far. Even through the throbbing in his head, the blood rushing in his ears, the roaring of the room, he knows. He feels the give of muscle and bone under his heel, hears the muffled, choked gasp, and realizes he doesn’t even know the man’s name. 

He doesn’t know what his face looks like when it isn't pulverized. 

“Eddie?...Earth to Diaz?” 

Eddie shook himself out of the memory, dazedly returning his attention to Chimney. 

“Uh, sorry. What’d you say?”

NEW FAVORITE FIC AS MOVIE POSTER

I literally just finished reading this fic and fell in love with it so hard that I decided to create a movie poster about it. Thank you, @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels, for making this masterpiece. 

This fic truly rearranged the insides of my body in a good way (weird metaphor, but that's how I feel). I 100% know what's going to happen in the story, but it still pulled me into a trance.

Still, Eddie gets up and helps him, and brings him some sweats and a t-shirt to sleep in, and then he’s about to go to his room, but then hesitates, standing there awkwardly, wringing his fingers and debating whether he should say anything. Finally, the broken and aching part of him wins, deciding to just for once ask for what he wants.

“Can you-” he starts, and Buck looks at him curiously. “It’s so stupid, Jesus Christ, forget it.” he sucks in a sharp breath and shakes his head, immediately regretting even opening his mouth.

“Eddie, anything.” Buck reminds him, taking a step closer. “What is it?”

“Uh-” Eddie closes his eyes, feeling tears well up, and blurts out: “Can I get a hug?” He hears Buck chuckle softly, and he opens his eyes to see a fond smile on his face.

“Of course.” he responds, closing the distance between them, and wrapping Eddie up in his arms, holding him tightly. Eddie slumps against him, arms around Buck’s back, clutching at the fabric of his shirt, face buried in the crook of his neck, smelling a sharp scent of his shower gel, he must’ve taken a shower after work, before coming to the hospital. 

Buck’s hugs are magical. Eddie’s known this, watching his son’s giddy face every time Buck gives him a hug, and now he gets to experience it, too. It’s like a warm blanket on a cold winter night. Eddie immediately feels some of the tension leave his body, warmth spreading over him, and he feels- he feels safe. Like everything will work out and it’s going to be truly okay.

Happy 911 Month!

When the premiere date got announced @sateenkaarirotta and I decided to do a collab to celebrate!

We each decided on an episode and came up with a prompt for one another- They chose 4x13 and her prompt had to do with the comfort Eddie felt knowing that if he was dying at least it was with his best friend by his side-this person he loves so dearly. That moment he’s reaching for Buck with the last of his strength and what was going through his mind!

Eddie waited until they were both in the house and Buck had shut the door before rounding on Buck and saying, “What the fuck was that today?” through gritted teeth.

Buck sighed again. “I did what I had to do.” He answered calmly, squaring his shoulders. He knew that Eddie needed to yell, to get it all out, but that didn’t mean that he was going to enjoy this.

“No! No you didn’t! There are protocols for a reason, Buck.” Eddie shouted, waving his hands in the way he did when he was mad. “You could have died. Again.”

“Eddie, I couldn’t not— I couldn’t just leave them there. I had to do whatever I could.” Buck was breathing heavily. His chest felt tight with emotion, his heart pounding. He wasn’t sure why this time felt so different. Why did this fight feel like so much more? Buck softened his voice, whispering, “I’m sorry.”

“I know you’re sorry,” Eddie sighed, anger still written all over his face. “I also know that that’s not going to stop you from making the exact same decision next time. You’ve already died once, Buck! Do you think you’re going to get that lucky next time? You can’t be taking unnecessary risks.”

“Unnecessary? Eddie, look look in the eye and tell me that you wouldn’t have done the same goddamn thing if it was you. I know you’re mad, I know you’re scared— but Eddie it was a kid!” Buck shouted the last part of his sentence.

“What about our kid?”
